Speaker 1 (00:00):
Quiet Please with Mel Reed and Kira Dixon is an
iHeart Women's Sports production in partnership with Deep Blue Sports
and Entertainment. You can find us on the iHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome back to Quiet Please. Kira here, Mel here. Another
exciting week in golf. We have a lot of like
golfy things to talk about, which is so unlike us, Mel.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I know. It's annoying, isn't it? When so much goes
on in the golf world, we can't have a little
chit chat like we normally do. But yeah, the, well,
I mean, let's start off with the PGA Tour, right?
I mean, how is the season over?

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Hold on. We can't just start talking about the PGA
Tour right away. Why? Why? Because I don't want to.
I want to hear about your life and your week
and stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Oh, okay. Go on, Em.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm sorry but the huge i know it's the season
the pj talk and wait long race to the fedex
cup it's over but it's not our top headline my
top headline is banks's passport photo.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Oh my god did you see that today did you
see it It's so cute.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I know, it is cute.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Luckily, you can have a kid screaming, crying, and it
will be accepted by the passport agency, which is amazing.
Bless him. He hates his car seat, and he's finally
starting to get a little bit used to it. He's
not screaming his tits off the minute we put him
in it. He's screaming his tits off the first five minutes,
and then now he's chilled out a bit. So, bless him.

(01:45):
He's all cozy and quiet. He's not had a great
morning nap today. Because we were kind of faffing around
doing stuff. And I had another meeting at like 8.30
this morning. So we're just kind of faffing around. And anyway,
we got him out. The woman was great. And he's
screaming his head off. So that's now his passport for
the next five years.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
That's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
But he did awful. So it was great. Cute though.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I also did some big government paperwork things. I have
officially changed my legal name only seven years after getting
married to Kira Dixon.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Well done you. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Well done.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
To be fair though, it is a bitch.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Well, not only that, but I got married right before COVID.
So I had put it off the first three months
after getting married and then COVID happened. And they said
I would have to send in my physical marriage certificate,
all that stuff, birth certificate, la la la. And at
the time, I was like, I don't know where this
is going. They're going to lose my stuff. So I waited.

(02:52):
And then seven years later. You finally trusted the government. Well,
I went in person.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
To change your last name. Okay. Yeah, no, it's a pain.
It's a pain. Thankfully, I didn't have to do that
because I'm an alpha. And Carly took my last name.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Carrying the children, changing her name.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
I know.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Gosh, what this woman won't do for love.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
I know, bless her. Pairing up with me.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Oh my God. It's at the top of the list.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah. I, uh, I flirted way too hard eight years
ago and this is where we're at. Poor thing. She,
but yeah, it is a pain. I remember like Jess
Cawler talking to me about it as well. Like she,
I think she took ages doing it. She's like, God,
it's such a nightmare, but all done and dusted now, Kira.
Well done, K-Dawg. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Well, now the real hard work begins because tomorrow I
have an appointment at the DMV. And then I got
to start, I got to call. The reason I wanted
to do it now. Yeah. Well, not only credit cards,
medical records. I wanted to do it now before the
baby comes because I want their birth certificate to say
my proper legal name.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
And have the same last name. Yeah. Um, so.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Well done. Well, sometimes you need something, you need something
big in your life to give you a little kick
up the ass, don't you? And this would be it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
This is as big as it gets.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I don't think this sucks doesn't it sometimes I honestly
it's just hard like just the bullshit I just constantly
feel I'm chasing my tail at the minute like constantly
chasing like nothing is I don't know I feel like
I'm doing everything yet nothing's getting done there's no.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Progress to be made there's always something yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Just always something and I want to just redo the
whole every single room in the house at the minute
so we've got all that going on but chat GTP
absolutely amazing for interior design what did you call it?
Chat GTP. What's it called? GPT.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
GPT. Chat. I just, I go, I talk to it
like it's my friend. Hey, chat. What do you think
about blah, blah, blah?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Like, honestly, it's helped me with the landscaping. So we're
getting the landscaping redoing. So it's, it's just doing the editing.
We don't have enough space outside. We've got too much
grass and my grass is dying. Can't keep grass alive here.
Didn't realize how hard it was keeping grass alive in Colorado.
But anyway, yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
The driest place on earth.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Awful. Awful. So we're getting that old patio. So it'll
be more of a party vibe, Kira, which I'm more
into anyway.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Dining room. We're going for a Scandinavian mountain theme. So
I asked chat about it. Got some good vibes now.
So that's in the making. That's in my head now.
We need this basement to be done.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I right in this moment have two men in my house. Okay,
what was that picture?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, what was that picture? I'm curious. Are you having carpet?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
No, no, no. They put down a bunch of paper
for them to walk on to get to the baby's
room because they're taking off the old wallpaper and priming
it to paint and get ready for the wallpaper that
we're putting in there. Cute. That's happening today. which is exciting.
And then, so that meant, that meant, so breaking news,

(06:03):
I am recording today's episode in our guest bedroom because
my podcast background, which as long-time listeners will know, I
have curated for the past year. It is been, it
has been dismantled and all moved out because the baby

(06:24):
is moving in. I know it's a sad day.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
These bebers literally take everything. The things we do for them,
they literally everything. They have no idea what they're doing
to us.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
I know, I'm so sad.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
No idea.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
So sad to take down all my shelving.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I know, you put so much effort into that.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I really did. So I'm going to start recording down
here instead. But in a much smaller, I won't explain it,
Because if you're not watching us, you can't see it.
But it's going to be a different vibe. And that's okay.
Those are the things that you have to do for
the children coming into our lives.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
I know. The bebes. The bebes.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
You know, I thought of you the other day because
I was... Have you seen the new Ted Lasso? The
new season of Ted Lasso? Okay. No.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
But funny you say that. Loads of people have texted
me because they've got the women's team in it, haven't they? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
And they're British.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I was a big Ted.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
And they're soccer players. I know.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
And the goalie.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
In particular, I don't know if you're going to be
offended or not when I say this, but the goalie,
the actor that plays the goalie and some of her
energy just kind of reminds me of you. She's a
bit crazy.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Is she annoying?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
No, she's so hardcore and she's like a little psycho.
She doesn't wear gloves because then she doesn't want to
wear gloves because she wants to feel the pain of
every save.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's something that Mel would do.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, literally.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Literally.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Is she a lesbian?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, of course. Kira!

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Not everyone's a lesbian, you know, in sport. I mean,
there is a community of us, obviously. Well, she is. Well,
I know, but I'm, you know, well, good for her.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Half the team are, I think, lesbians and half the
team are not. But this one in particular, there's a
reason why she reminds me of you. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
All right, I'm going to have to watch it now.
I'm fucking out. If she's rat shit, I'm going to
call you up.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
No, no. She's so entertaining and amazing, but.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Okay, thank you. We'll see. My energy has been off
the charts recently. I think I'm just sleep deprived. And so, honestly... Oh, actually,
I do have a great story for you. I do
have a fantastic story for you. Tell me. You've just
reminded me of my energy. Fucking hell. So, we're obviously
in the basement, Dan. It's... Bobby builders is cracking on,

(08:52):
but it's taking a while. Okay. But whatever it's construction understood. Um,
but it's getting there. So we were like, screw it.
Let's just buy the sofa. Cause we can always just
like put it in the garage, um, for the basement.
Cause we just want it ready. Like, you know, so
we went to, um, a famous, uh, sofa place for
like entertainment system sofas. And this poor woman was in

(09:17):
the store on Pancha Pancha. was in there. And for
some strange reason, I was just off my rocker that day.
And even Carly was like, Mel, can you just shut
up and let this woman do her job? Because you
are asking her questions without even finishing the first question.
You've gone on to something else. So I was a

(09:39):
complete scat. The ADD was in full. Carly was like,
you have clearly not took your medication for a while.
You need to take it when you get home because
I cannot deal with this at all. And I was like, no,
to be fair, I'm really sorry, Sandra, that was really bad.
And I will let you speak now. Sorry, Sandra. Yeah,
even I was quite aware of it and just... could

(10:00):
not stop myself. So there was that. So that was great.
So my wife humbled me quite quickly in the store.
And hopefully we've got it right. I don't know because
my brain was all over the place.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I'm sure Sandra got it right. Hopefully.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Sandra sounds like she knows what she's doing. Dealing with
the likes of you. Yeah, she was the store manager.
So you would think that she probably was like, just
F off, please. It'll be fine. I got you. So, yeah.
That's where we're at.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Okay. Okay, we can talk about some golf things now.
I'm okay with it.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Well, I have a million other things I want to
talk to you about, but we can't keep the people
waiting on pins and needles.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Right, let's breeze through the gold stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Okay. Okay. All right. Shall we start with the PGA Tour?
All right.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Probably should, shouldn't we?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, I guess so. Yeah, Scotty Scheffler wins the season-long
race to the FedEx Cup. Shocker. And will likely be
the player of the year. Tell us more about it, Mel.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Listen. Okay, so he was three shots back going to
the final round. Does things that Scottie does. Shot 66
in the final round. Wins by three. Supposed to be
this big dramatic Sunday. Ended up not being really because
Scottie Scheffler is just the best player in the world.
I'm sorry. He's overtaking Tiger Woods in career money. Like,
what the fuck, by the way. That is insane.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
I tell you what. Well, not surprising given today's landscape,
but yes.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Understood. Understood. Yeah, don't let that fool you of, you know,
the CVs just quite yet. but he's on that pathway
for sure. Um, listen, he's such an interesting cat, Scotty.
Like whenever he needs to produce something spectacular, he does.
Like it's pretty amazing how consistently he does that, how

(12:10):
consistently he delivers when he needs to. And it's just,
I mean, there's a lot of people in the run
for player of the year, but I mean, Scotty's got
it now, hasn't he? So, and it's just, um, And
to be fair, it was really cute actually seeing Bennett
again because like last time he won the FedEx Cup,
he was a little baby in the little trophy thing.
And now he's a big boy. He's got a little brother.

(12:32):
So yeah, I mean, it was meant to be.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
There was a cute video of Meredith and Scotty pointing
out to Bennett, their older boy, that last time daddy
won the FedEx Cup, you got to sit in the trophy.
Do you want to sit in it again? And he goes, no.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Yeah, he's like, no, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Also, Meredith has some vibe. She is styling.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
She always looks great in her trophy presentation things. I
don't know. But she's picking great outfits. I mean, she
knows that she's going to be on camera. But she
picks some really great outfits. It's not like over the top. Yeah. Because,
you know, I mean, everybody has their own style, but

(13:19):
sometimes the style can be... very, very styled and hers
comes off as a very, her personality, her aesthetic relaxed,
but refined, you know, all of that. So she's a
good little style icon for the girl, the golf girlies.
If you need inspiration of what to wear to a
golf tournament, you can just check out, um, many of
the trophy shots that Meredith Scheffler has been in over

(13:41):
the years.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
It's kind of what she's like millions, literally millions. Um,
so literally, so yeah, well done Scotty. Um, He's just
the best player in the world for a reason. But
the highlight again with his family and Meredith Starr because
she's a vibe. What's your thoughts on the new, the potential, well,
it's not potential, the change of the FedEx kind of

(14:04):
end of year series that's going to go on? Yes.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
So the PGA Tour announced that they are going to
go to a match play format in 2028 for the
FedEx Cup. I think it's fantastic. So the first week
would be 72-hole stroke play. The top 90 players in
the FedExCup standings would qualify for that first week tournament.
And then the top, correct me if I'm wrong, the

(14:29):
top 32 finishers from that would move on to match play.
And then the top 16 players from that would move
on to the match play final. Yep. So it's a
kind of interesting proposition for that second week because there's
not a winner. It's just kind of a, then it
would have to be continuation. I mean, you'd get like

(14:51):
a number one seed or whatever.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yeah. You mean the first week? Is that what you're
talking about?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Well, there would be a winner of the golf tournament
in the first week of the FedExCup playoffs. But then
once they move to match play, the second week of
the 32, it's just narrowing it down to 16. Yes. Yes.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Yes, yes, yes. I like it, to be honest with you.
I think it's going to be way more interesting. I
think it's going to have a lot more upsets. That
first week is going to be kind of like the
group stages in the World Cup, basically, isn't it? Eight
groups of four. Yes. I've worded that right. Eight groups
of four, top two, and then... It's going to be fun.

(15:31):
I actually think it's going to be really compelling. I
think it's going to be more compelling for the players
as well because... I don't know. You can kind of
see towards the end of the year if they're not
really going to win the FedEx Cup. I know they're
still playing for a lot of money, but you have
players like Rory and these guys that really doesn't make
a massive difference unless they're winning these events. They kind
of switch off a little bit. And they even admit

(15:53):
saying that and it's completely understandable. It's a really long season,
especially kind of the FedEx Cup playoffs is a kind
of long end to the season. So I think this
is going to be much more compelling, much more exciting.
You know, if you get knocked out, you get knocked out.
There's going to be some upsets, drama.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah, because if they don't care about the current format,
why should the fans care? Why should the fans tune in?

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Exactly. So I think this is a fantastic move from
the PGA Tour. Like, love it. I would actually love
the LPGA to do something like this. I think at
the end of year match play, I think it's more
engaging for fans. I think it's more engaging for players.
You know, if you're not doing well, you just get
knocked out, get to go home. Perfect. You know, so
I'm very, very excited.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Yeah, you could be Scotty Scheffler and get knocked out
in match play. Which is, you know, obviously the sponsors
want Scotty to be there in the end, but it
kind of makes it compelling that the number one seed
is gone and somebody else goes out and wins all
four matches and becomes the FedExCup champion. Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
So I'm very much a favorite for it. I think
it's going to be really cool. I think it's going
to be really cool.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
And they're also going to leave the... Allegedly, they haven't
really announced this... officially or anything, but the word on
the street is that they would be leaving places like
Memphis or Atlanta in the dead of summer where it's,
people are dropping like flies. It's 112 degrees out and
fans aren't coming out to watch the golf tournament because

(17:22):
why would you want to be a heat casualty?

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
So, um, so that's good too. So they'll, they'll be able,
and because they have the smaller fields later on, they
could probably go to some more exclusive golf courses with a,
smaller footprint, things of that nature. So all in all,
all good things and not so much 72 whole stroke play,
which just kind of gets boring after a.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Whole season of it. Let's be honest, Kira does. Like
we have the ability to do match play. Why not
do it more? It's fun.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah. And it's fun. I love match play.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
It's so fun. That's why people love the Ryder Cup.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
I know.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
It's literally so fun. More match play, please.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
And the Solheim Cup.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Thank you. We're going with the theme here this year.
Solheim Cup, darling.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Which is a good transition for a certain someone.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Anna Norquist. Is that what you're talking.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
About?

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Anna. Finally retiring. Well, not finally. That sounds quite bad.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
I think she could have played much longer. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
She could have played much longer. She started playing.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Quite well this year. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
She actually was running for Solheim Cup. Literally, she probably
would have played if she wasn't the captain.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
So it's a good, I like the idea of, you know,
retire when I'm on top. Don't peter out. So good
for her.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
I mean, listen, she's had an 18, 20 year career. Well,
she won nine LPGA events. She's got three major championships,
nine Solheim Cups, which is just ridiculous. Okay. This is
the epitome of longevity. And this is what we don't
see very often anymore in the women's game. Like we
did do with like Laura, with Julie, like winning late
on into their careers. But her first major was in

(19:11):
2009 and her last one was in 2021. I mean,
that's just nuts. So she's kind of the definition of,
just a grafter just resilience and she's been through some
hardship in her personal life she's you know take golf
aside she's had some really really difficult times and she's
just she's just a grafter mate and she's just a

(19:33):
strong soul fantastic she's just she's just awesome I mean
I've known Anna since we were kids we used to
play obviously England versus Sweden against each other in junior
events together so I've known Anna for god knows how
long 25 years and stuff so she's just incredible. And
now she's just focused on Solheim Cup and then she's

(19:53):
going to have a break. I think she deserves that.
She's going to go probably lie on a beach for
a week and just relax. But yeah, just amazing. Amazing.
Amazing start.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
So is she done now? Because I know she just
played the FM Championship. Was that supposed to be her
last event or that was just where she announced?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
No, I'm pretty sure that's her last event.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Why do you think that was? Because she wants to
focus on Solheim?

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I think Solheim's her, yeah. She now wants to focus
on Solheim and that, you know, I don't know. Maybe
that's just a nice transition thing. Like you've retired from
professional golf and then you've got Solheim Cup. which will
leave a legacy. You know, she's going to be a
legend no matter what happens in the next week. So
I think it will just, it's the way she wants
to go out and she absolutely has that choice and

(20:40):
ability to do so. So why not do it the
way she wants to do?

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah. No, I think going out on a Solheim Cup
is pretty legendary and just play one last tournament.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Take the time you need to prepare to hopefully kick
some ass and yeah, right off into the sunset. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
So good for you, Anna.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Congratulations. Ooh, tell us.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah, congrats, mate. The call we had this morning was
actually just with the Solheim Cup captains, the vice captains,
just to go through a few things. And she basically
was saying congrats on the retirement and stuff. And she
was like, I'm playing with these 21-year-olds. She's like, I'm just,
it's not for me anymore. I'm like, yeah, mate, I know.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
At least you stuck out.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Two more years than I did. That's why I'm here, mate. Yeah.
She's like, I just, you know, yeah, it's just, it's
just hard to keep up with them. Even though she's
trying her best, like she can't give any more. And
she's just like, it's just, you know, it's just sometimes
you just got to hang your boots up and go,
I had a great, you know, thank you very much.
It was a good run.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Yeah. And she's not going anywhere. She's going to be
part of the golf world forever. Doing her thing.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Doing her thing.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
But she won't have to compete with the likes of
Ronan Yen at the FM championship.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I know. I mean, Ronnie Yin is so good. Like
she's 23. She's already won a major.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
She, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
She's sneaky good, man. Like she's got a great caddy
on the bag and Dave Jones, um, who were there
at Solheim actually next week, but she's just one of
them players that she hasn't won for a couple of years.
So this is kind of a little bit of a
monkey off her back, which is nuts to say at
23 years old, but she's just one of those players
that when the The pressure cooker gets really hot and heated.

(22:29):
She somehow frees up. It's mad. It's absolutely crazy. When
most of the lids would be flying off for most
of these players, she just kind of breezes past it.
It's just insane how she's just built for pressure situations.
And she's just so good. So good. She's got six
LPGA wins. It's her sixth LPGA win now, including a major.

(22:53):
She's pretty darn good, and that's why we're all retiring.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Yeah the mental game is really impressive I'm always I'm
always so I want players to tell us more about
why they're so good mentally and they just can't they
can't communicate it it's such a internal thing that it
only works for them and it's not something you can
teach oh I don't know this really is.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Different no that's actually really interesting yeah and everyone's different
um and I think that's the secret thing to it
isn't it like we're kind of I don't know. I
always struggle with it because we're kind of always told
to like, right, you've got to get up at four.
You've got to be the hardest working. I had no
doubt that I was one of those players that got
up at five and did the graft. But really, like,

(23:39):
how productive was I during that graft? And I think
that that's where I struggled mentally because I was like,
I put in all this work. I'm exhausted. But how
much was I actually mentally there? So I've actually wasted
a lot of time.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
How much did you retain?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, exactly. Like, would I have been better just getting
up normally?

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Beating balls on the range.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Right. Like if I'd have maybe just took a step
back and just done things a lot slower and like
maybe not as much time on the range and just
been very, very present and focused, how much different would
I have been mentally? And I think that that's the
golden nugget personally. But it's just hard to do. It's
just hard to do. So anyway.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Well, congrats to Ronnie Yen, our FM champion. Congrats. Um,
we still have a ways to go in the LPGA season. Um,
it's kind of interesting that the Solheim cup, I mean,
it falls towards the end of the LPGA season, but
there's still a significant part of the LPGA season that
continues on post Solheim. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
I mean, you've got, um, or have you got shafts?
So I think you've got, you've got Arkansas, you got
Hawaii and then they go over to Asia and then
you go back to Europe and then you'll see me.
So yeah, there's still, we've still got a lot of
golf left to be played. Um, a lot of golf
left to be played it's actually quite different kind of
the men's they kind of get a little bit of
a break now like some of the top ones especially

(24:59):
we don't at all like.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
We don't get off season they finish their season in
September or end of August and then September is when
things like the Ryder Cup or the President's Cup start
up and and they have the fall series if you
played poorly in the regular season then you would go
well not necessarily poorly but If you feel the need
to play in the fall, you can. If you played
really well, you don't have to. You can take a

(25:21):
true off season.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
And you don't have to come back until end of January, February,
if you don't want to.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
I know, it's bad. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
But not for us.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
We've got Soham, baby. Soham, baby. Are you getting excited?

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Oh my God, I'm fucking fired up, mate. Listen, I'm
not very happy about leaving my kiddos, obviously.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Like that's going to be actually quite, I think a
bit more difficult than I thought because I've not been
home this much in a while. So I've proper got
a little bond with my little boy Kai. But if
there's anything that I'd be okay leaving for, it's Solheim Cup.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Well, yeah. I mean, this is like the thing that
you care about the most in golf.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Literally, yeah. Literally by a mile. Like I, I love
the shit.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
I love the shit.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Which is probably why Carly is also like, anyway, go
get after it. Do your thing, babe. Love you.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah. And she's probably, yeah. She's like, bye. Bye. Um, yeah, no, I'm,
I'm very excited. Anna's doing a great job. Everything's all
set up. Everything will be in my room. I won't
need to pack much. Everything's all done for me. My
clothes will be steamed, so I won't need to put any,
have my merch. Everything's going to be, I've got my,
Best mate is my little car, is my car driver.

(26:46):
My couple of my other friends are coming. My family,
some of my family are coming. So it's going to
be fun.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Oh, great.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I worked, I worked my very last day of work
before my life changes yesterday.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
How do you feel? I saw that you with Mandy
and Michelle, right?

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yep. Yep. For work day, the work day charity classic
for Steph Curry's, Steph and Aisha Curry's Eat, Learn, Play. Um,
I mean, it's the most fun gig in the world.
You welcome everybody. Then you ride around in a cart,
terrorize everybody. Then you host the evening party. Um, and,
and that's that. Um, but you would have died. So, um,

(27:29):
at the end there was this million dollar charity putting
contest when you, and you could put to like this
putt for six feet is worth 50,000. This 15 footer
is 150, whatever. Um, They had a 62-foot putt for $ 500, 000.
That is the 62 feet is the longest in-game shot
Steph Curry has made. That's the night-night.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
That's cool.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
And nobody made that putt, obviously. A lot of people
were really close. You know, great lag putting. But at
the very end, we've wrapped up kind of, and Steph
throws a golf ball.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
No, stop it.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Fucking makes it.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
No, he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
No, he doesn't. He made the night-night throwing the golf
ball into the 62-footer. It was 62 feet. He was
throwing it from the tee box.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
It was the most insane athletic thing.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
I just was like, how is this person real? Real. Yeah.
Did anyone film it? Yeah, the crew and stuff got it.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
That is sick. Oh my God, that is sick. That
is sick, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (28:39):
You know, some people are just born to be great.
I know.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Well, we have other talents, Kira.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Okay. We are born to be podcasters. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
That's insane. Well, anyway, on that note, how do you feel?
I know you're a bit of a workaholic, K-Dawg, so
you can now relax.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
You can wait for the bebe. And have some, do
you know what, actually, not that you're asking for my
unsolicited advice, but I'm going to give it to you anyway.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I love your unsolicited advice. Hit me with it.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Thank you. Thank you. It's so exciting waiting for a bebe.
But I honestly would like really appreciate the life that
you have now because it's about to fucking change in
the best way, in the best way. But like, honestly,
just appreciate like you and Andrew just like having some
time together. like being able to watch Netflix all night

(29:36):
and just, you know what I mean? And just like
chilling before the. absolute eruption of like chaos and love
and just carnage that you're going to be ridiculously addicted
to it's about to happen yeah yeah yeah it's I
already know what I'm getting the baby by the way
when it's born my baby? just your baby yeah Oh,

(29:57):
I'm so excited. Whose other baby am I going to
get something for?

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Oh, I don't know. I didn't exactly hear you. I
thought you were talking about your baby. Oh, no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
It's all about you, Kira. This section's all about you, babes. Oh, okay. Yeah,
I know what I'm going to get you, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Well, for the bebe. And also, if you don't like it,
just send it back. But I think it's super cute
and it's bougie, so it's great.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I'm going to love it.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
I got one for Jess Corder. Cute and bougie? That's
my name.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
It's got my name all over it.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
I mean, I thought if Jess likes it, then obviously Kira,
now Kay Dixon officially, will like.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
It as well.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Well, I had my baby shower this past weekend. I
had two of my best friends come into town for it.
And so we hosted everybody here. And then I had
this day of work. So I woke up this morning
and felt hungover. Obviously, I wasn't drinking, but I just
feel hungover from energy, from love, from seeing everybody that's

(30:59):
excited about talking about the baby. It's so funny how,
you know, because you see this giant physical manifestation of
new life. And so people want to talk to you
about it, either at work or obviously at a baby shower.
So it was just a kind of a funny, it
was a lot of energy for somebody that huffs and
puffs going up a set of stairs. So when I

(31:21):
woke up this morning, Andrew was like, what can I
do for you? He went upstairs. We got a new
espresso machine. Did I tell you about this? No. Okay.
We got a really amazing new espresso machine. Shout out
Bo Hossler. It's bougie. Not as bougie as it could be,
but Bo Hossler, PGA Tour player, aka Bo Rista, is

(31:44):
an espresso machine expert. And he recommended this. It's called
Fellow is the machine. And Andrew is now my in-house barista.
And he made me a cappuccino this morning. And he's
working on his latte art. And we're getting there. We're
getting there. But you love it. Yeah, I do love it.

(32:11):
But the latte art, I was like, it looks like
a blob. I was like, it looks like a shield.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
What was he trying to make?

Speaker 2 (32:19):
A swan? I don't know. I think he was trying
to make a flower and it just was like a blob. Oh, cute.
So then I just, I said it was a shield. Cute.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
That'll do. That's close.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
It's all from love. Yes, but the coffee itself tastes amazing.
It was great. So Andrew was looking after me this
morning because he knew I was emotionally hungover from my
weekend of last hurrah. So now I'm just going to
six weeks of what you said, enjoying my time.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
You enjoy it. You enjoy it. You enjoy it. God,
it's coming quick, isn't it though? It is coming around
quick though, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (33:00):
It's amazing how fast that happened.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Um, I know.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Yeah. But I've been pregnant all year. I've been pregnant
since January though.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah. Yeah. That's awful.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
It's like a long time.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
It's awful. It's awful.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
When you think about it like that, you're like, oh shit.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
I forget how long you guys are pregnant. I know.
It's like, it's so annoying. Like, why can't you just
be like a dog and be pregnant for like two months?
You know what I mean? Like, why do you have
to be pregnant for like almost 10 months? Like, it's
a little, it's a lot. It's a little bit much.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
It's a bit much. Like six months. We can speed
that up. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I mean, whoever thought of that, it needs to rethink
this because it's a long time, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (33:39):
At evolution. Let's work on that. Yeah. There were a
couple of other stories that I wanted to run by
you and get your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Go babes.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
If you're open to that. Well, first of all, RIP
Dolly Parton. Do you like Dolly Parton music?

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Oh my God, I love Dolly.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
I know.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Oh God, I was actually really devastated. I'm like devastated.
She was, I mean, I just remember her performing at
Glastonbury and it was the biggest crowd I think Glastonbury's
ever had like as a headliner. And it was Dolly
fucking Parton. And she's just like, I don't know. She's
just awesome. She was who she was. She loves everyone.

(34:32):
It's literally the epitome of just being a good person. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Exactly.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
I didn't judge. Just, you know. And she's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Just made great music and made people feel happy. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah. And she got great banter. Like, real good banter. Like,
I saw, yeah, devastated. I know. Absolutely devastated.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
R.I.P. Dolly. R.I.P. Dolly. I know I was that day
I was scrolling social media and there was a black
and white photo of her on some news outlet. And
I just scrolled right past it because I was like, well, that's, there's,
there's no news here. That's not real. And then when
I kept scrolling, every single thing was like Dolly Parton
passed away. Then at that point I was like, what?

(35:11):
I know.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
And don't you think it's weird when people like that
pass away? It was like Michael, like the bit of
my life, my whole life. Does that make sense? Yes.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
I remember very clearly. And it's like, I feel like
something's weird. I remember very clearly when Robin Williams died.
I was sitting on a plane.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Oh, God, yes.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
And I saw that come up and I just, it
hit me so hard because I was, Robin Williams raised me. Mrs.
Doubtfire raised me.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Patch.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Yes. Patch. Yeah, I was so, I was so devastated
when that happened. So same thing with Dolly. So. Yeah.
We will always love you, Dolly. And I hope you're
running around in your coat of many colors. You've always
been our house, Dolly.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Oh, God, can you imagine? I bet she's having a
right nice old time up there.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Oh, yeah. Running the place.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Oh, my God. Literally. Literally running the place. I know.
Poor Dolly. But what a legend. It's just sad when people, like,
I don't know, just sad in a... Can't really explain
it any other way.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Yeah. Well, it also makes you feel a type of
way when somebody you've known or, you know, you have
a parasocial relationship with is.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
No longer.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
And it kind of reminds you of your own mortality.
I know.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
I know. I know. All of that. Anyway. But we
love you, Dolly. We love you. Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Well, from Dolly to a totally less deserving storyline. Did
you see the CEO tweets from Good Cut? At 2 a.m.?
Or whatever it was. Yeah. I don't know what he's doing.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
What the fuck? I mean, okay. I had a lot
of people ask me about this.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Well, let's set it up.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Back in time.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Yeah. Go.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Okay. So last week, you would have heard us talk
about this good, good scandal relating to the ad that
they released with Callaway. Since we spoke last week, a
lot of other fallout has happened. Callaway dropped them. The
PGA Tour dropped them. The Golf Channel dropped them. bunch
of other sponsors, blah, blah, blah. And the CEO of good,
good came out on Twitter in like a middle of

(37:22):
the night tweeting spree. And essentially it's alluding to that.
This was, he was blaming their partners and that they
were going to sue people and that this was, uh,
an unfair takedown and like, yes, you know, we did
something wrong, but this is an insane reaction and.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
Blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
So that's where we're at. Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
So, uh, My opinion is like, I understand. Listen, we
know it was wrong. It was stupid advert.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Just what are you doing? Right. We spoke about that
last week. I do feel though. And listen, I, before
I say this, I know that Callaway has always been
a massive support of women's golf. Like when we had
no other trucks out, Callaway was there giving out clubs
to players, you know, on the LPGA, when we had
to pay for our own clubs, pretty much at cost price.

(38:12):
no one was supporters. This is not that long ago either,
Kira Calloway, a hundred percent with their supporters.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Right.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
So I obviously, a piece of my heart is with them. Right.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
But I do think I will say for myself for that,
they gave me a huge start in this industry. They, uh,
really invested in me personally. I had a partner, long-term
partnership with them for eight or nine years. Um, and they, uh,
went above and beyond to, um, involved me in their content, whatever.
So yeah, like can confirm. Continue.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
It can confirm that that is not their image, right?
But somebody, somebody there must have signed off on that advert.
Like that I just don't understand how it could not
have been signed off by a representative of Callaway, right?
Now they've done the right thing. They've donated a million
dollars to domestic abuse, to women, like they've done all
the right things. Now with regards to the CA thing,
I kind of do feel like you know, I understand

(39:05):
his point of like, they've kind of have, everyone's just
going to fuck off. Like we don't want to be
part of this anymore. And Callaway have kind of not
taken a huge amount of responsibility in, in the signing
off on it. But I also feel like, I don't know,
maybe I'm wrong in this, but I also feel like
with a big company like that, like one person is
probably fucked up there in Callaway and just signed off

(39:27):
on it without, without even thinking too much.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Right.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Um, the good, good with the ones that actually made
the ad. Do you know, does that make sense? And
so I feel like they do need to take a
little bit more responsibility than probably the other stuff. I
don't know. Um, I don't think ranting was great about it.
I think you just say your apology and.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
And fade off into the background and have it go away.
And just be quiet.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Like, you need this thing to just be quiet now.
And for some reason, he just lit the fire again.
And it's just like, what are we doing? Like, it
was a bit... I felt like it was a bit.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
I.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Get his point. No one feels bad.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
No one's going to feel bad for you.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
You fucking did it.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Like, like I feel like Callaway, someone, okay, this is
the thing. I feel like Callaway fucked up or someone
fucked up at Callaway. Callaway then took a step back
and gone, we apologize. We're going to donate this amount
of money to, you know, uh, women of domestic abuse.
We've learned our lesson. Like we'll make sure that we
kind of like, well, that would never, ever happen again.
And just, you know, we are as big supporters of
women's golf and like Anika came forward, like a bunch

(40:32):
of players came forward and said, this is actually very true.
It was just one mistake, stupid mistake from Callaway, but
someone messed up.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Right.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
I just think with the, I don't know. I just
think with Good Good, you're still starting up as a
new company. I don't know. I'm like, you're still establishing
yourself in golf. Like, just let it go and just
apologize and just say, this will never happen again. We're
ready to rebuild our reputation. You know?

Speaker 2 (40:56):
I think that, yeah, no, I totally agree. I think
that Good Good's general reaction to all of this was
just mismanaged. So I don't know if they tried to
handle it internally or if they went to outside resources
to help them handle it or just didn't understand that
this would blow up into the thing that it blew

(41:16):
up into. I mean, this was on Good Morning America
and CNN and the New York Times. And it just
really transcended into mainstream media, not just golf. So their
first apology was super weak and.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Yeah, awful.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
Dumb and didn't really take much responsibility and understand the
full context. Then... the main good, good guy, the founder,
Garrett Clark, he released then this like three minute long video.
And a lot of it was like excuses and this
is what happened. And when I saw the ad, it was,

(41:51):
I was cringing and it was the worst ad ever.
And I kind of was like, is there a world
in which you were the face of this and you
didn't see it before? I know. It went out and
just you've, you've totally released everything to, other powers that
be within a brand that is built around your face.
And this is like the biggest thing possible with one

(42:11):
of the biggest golf companies ever. I struggle to buy that.
All he had to do is he wants to say more.
And this is free advice. If anybody would like to
hire me for their future PR crisis handling, I'm available. Um,
as you know, I'm not working right now.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
Um, but we will book you in, in March when
some books are open.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Exactly. Um, All you have to do is take genuine accountability.
Nobody wants to hear a long rant setting up all
the different things that you didn't do or didn't know
or whatever and the qualifying of it. It's a TLDR,
too long didn't read. Too long didn't read. You're just
losing people. Just, hey guys, I... think this is absolutely

(42:56):
horrible uh we will never do this again we yeah
profusely apologize you know to this to this that's blah
blah blah um i'm gonna be putting myself through an
educational moment of that i'm good this is what i'm
gonna do to help rectify it i know that um
it's gonna take a long time to to earn your
trust back but um i'm gonna make genuine strides to

(43:17):
do so Thank you for your consideration. Done.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
There's nothing else to be done. I know.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
No one cares about your other stuff.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
Just take some ownership. Just take the ownership and leave it.
We messed up really badly, really badly, but we're going
to earn your trust back.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
It was just stupid. The more I think about it,
I'm like, how the hell did that even... Who the
hell on a creative meeting was like, I know. why
don't we push the shit out of a girl trying
to take my driver? And they go, that is a
fantastic idea.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
Brilliant.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
Let's do it. And you know what? I'll be the
face of it. Yeah. I'll push her over really hard.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
I'll be the face of it, but I won't watch
the finished product before we put it out.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
Yeah. Because it makes me cringe. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Yeah. Because I'm going to hate watching it.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
I mean, come on.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
Perfect.

Speaker 3 (44:13):
Oh gosh. So it's a.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Series of unfortunate events. Including the CEO tweets. So I'm
very interested to see what happens. I think at the
end of the day, these are not bad people. These
are not people that have any desire to abuse people,
especially not women. That's not what we're saying. But just

(44:34):
the execution of all this was pretty botched. So anyway,
awesome prayers. I hope you guys can take... Exactly. So.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
God, we... I feel like we crushed that, Kira.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
We crushed everything, Lydia.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Well, I know, but I felt we got really passionate
about that. You know what I mean? Got my juices flowing.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Well, we are uniquely positioned to talk about it because
we're women in the golf space. We have experience with Callaway.
We have experience with Good Good. We know all the
players in this situation. This is right up our alley
in terms of being able to actually commentate on something.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
If anybody else wants to have a scandal, we will discuss.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Give our opinions.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
In a measured and balanced way. Yes.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Did you see, speaking of golf content creators, did you
see that Grant Horvath, or as you call Grant Horvath,
put out a children's golf club set for $ 200? Yeah.
What do you think about that as a, as a
mother of a child that could be using a children's

(45:41):
golf club set?

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Listen, I think it's a bit steep. Okay. I listen, um,
I have two things to say about this actually, because
I've been thinking about this. Um, I have a kid
set for Kai. Um, there's another company that already do
kids set and it's a fantastic kids first set. Now
it is still a bit pricey. It's around that, that
price anyway. Um, now I think what, Grant is doing

(46:07):
like is really cool like I think that anytime we
have more options for kids to get into the game
of golf with equipment you know specialized to them to
make it more fun for him like for them the
way that he's designed it I think is really cool
like he's really thought about this and like he's definitely
got some smart people behind him amazing again though I
do struggle a little bit with the price like I

(46:29):
think that we're constantly talking about golf being more accessible
and it's just this is the most like expensive golf
has ever been Um, like I had a buddy, you know,
two of our friends from Jupiter came in at the
weekend actually to stay with us and they just moved
to Atlanta and he's been, he works at the PJ
of America and he literally cannot get in a golf
club because it's too expensive, you know, and he makes
great money for his age. He's mid thirties, he makes

(46:50):
great money. And he's like, I literally cannot join like
a D like, cause he's a good golfer. He's off scratch.
He's like, I can't join a decent golf club. And
so even with this.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
Junior, he doesn't want to just go play your basic muni.

Speaker 3 (47:03):
No, no, no. He doesn't find that fun enough, right?
Like he wants to be challenged. So I think that
Grant got a lot of criticism saying there's all these
on the market anyway. Well, whatever. Like we need more
of this stuff on the market. I think it's amazing
and admirable what he's doing. Like I think it's cool
that he's gone in that space. But again, I just
wish it was a little bit more accessible. Like that
is still a lot of money for a three-year-old golf clubs,

(47:24):
in my opinion, for the average family. I just think
it is. I think it's ridiculous. Yeah, I think it
should be 45 bucks.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
They're plastic made in China.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Yeah, even less, 25 bucks. No, but my set was
that much. I mean, can I show you the company
that I got it from or not? Are we allowed
to do that?

Speaker 2 (47:46):
You can do whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
Okay, it's Charlie Golf. It's Charlie. It's Charlie. And the
stuff is really good. Charlie. Charlie bit me.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
Charlie bit my finger.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
Um, It's the Charlie Golf, and it's proper steel shafts,
but Kai loves them. They're super durable. He smacked them
all over my patio, and they're still great. And they're
for the same price.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Is the patio okay? No.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
One of my plant pots is not okay. There's lots
of things in my house. This is not okay. Now
I have children, Kira.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Understandable.

Speaker 3 (48:22):
That being one of them.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
So.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
You're right.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
For plastic, I'm like, come on, man. It should be
a little bit more affordable than that. But that's just.
I just get frustrated. Do you know what? We should
design some golf sets for kids. We'll get it done
and we'll get it done for $ 25 a set. Let's
do it, Kira. Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
I love that idea. I love that idea.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
We actually should do that.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Well, I don't know about $ 25. I think $ 50. I
think $ 50 is a good price, personally. Okay. For like
a decent... Because 25 is like, that's really crappy materials
and stuff. And then it's hard to make any margin
on that.

Speaker 3 (49:04):
Well, let's do 50 then. Let's see if we can
do it for 50 bucks.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
And I don't think that you need more than two clubs.
You just need a driver and a putter.

Speaker 3 (49:13):
Well, you need, well, I would do driver, putter and
like a wedge.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Okay, three clubs. Three clubs. Yeah, literally.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
A pitching wedge yeah oh that's what i would do
i would do a driver putter pitching wedge.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Okay well we'll price this out if anybody out there
is listening.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
If anyone's listening and would like to invest in this
um we.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
And this is our half-baked idea that we just... It's
not even half. That's a knockoff of somebody else's idea.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
Exactly. We just took someone else's idea. And then before
we get sued, that would be great. Can we get
some big... Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
Oh, dear.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
But listen, I think it's admirable what he's doing. The
price to me is a bit steep, but everyone's slagging
him off for like doing kids clubs. Like, piss off. Like,
we need more kids getting in the game.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
No, I love the kids clubs idea. I love that
he's doing a set of kids clubs, but I think
that people just grab onto the price. And it was
unfortunate timing because people are just loving to be haters
right now, especially of YouTube golfers with the good, good thing.
So he released it at the exact same time and
people are like, let's yell at Grant Horvath too for
doing whatever. And yeah, so it's just, it's just a

(50:20):
kind of a, he's a prisoner of the moment, which
is not his fault. I agree. I agree.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Well, there we go.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Any other, any other thoughts? Nope. Oh, I have one
question for you, if something comes to mind. Now that
the regular season on the PGA Tour is over, do
you have a favorite win or favorite moment from the year?

Speaker 3 (50:47):
Oh, interesting. Yeah, I do, actually. I do.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Tell us.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
The Fitzy Brothers. The Fitzy Brothers winning was my favorite
moment of the year.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
I was thinking about that one, too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
Yeah, that's my favorite moment of the year.

Speaker 2 (51:05):
I just saw Matt yesterday at the workday thing. And
that putting challenge I was telling you about, there was a,
you know, I don't know, 15 or 16 footer for $ 100, 000.
And of course he made it. And the crowd goes wild. Amazing. Yeah,
it's really annoying how good he is at golf.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah, it's quite annoying, actually.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
I am going to say Ryan Fox winning the Open Championship.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
Very good.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
I think was my favorite win and kind of story
of the year because he's just a lad and he's
39 years old and he won his first major and
he's somebody that I think truly appreciates it. And he
gives of his time and his energy to others. And
it was cool to see somebody very salt of the earth,

(51:57):
not used to being in that spotlight, raise a major
championship trophy. So very happy for Ryan Fox. The people
of New Zealand would be probably my favorite.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
Yes, I know. I think that's a great shout. Great shout.
I think that's a great shout. Well done.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
Thank you. Thank you. Well done.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
All right.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Shush up the week. Wow. Voice of a generation. I know.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
Do you have a shush of the week, K-Dog?

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Well, can I do an opposite of a shush? Can
I do a positive shout out for my shush? Or
are you hate that?

Speaker 3 (52:36):
No, we're into positive energy on this pod. Okay, just
this one time. Because I forgot to mention it after
the BMW last week. A very nice man named Jamie
came up to me and said that his.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Wife, who's not a golfer, has gotten into the show.
and listens to Quiet Please and it's made her feel
closer to her husband and her family because she can
relate on certain topics and it's gotten her interested in
actually trying to pick up a golf club so it
made my day when he told me that but then

(53:07):
of course I forgot about it so I wanted to
make sure to shout him out that he said that
because that means a lot to us when people come
up to us and tell us things like that about.

Speaker 3 (53:17):
The pod that's amazing that's amazing That's very sweet. Thank
you very much. That's nice to hear.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
Yeah. And you can keep it negative so that we
balance things out here. Okay.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
That's not a problem. Um, shush of the week is
witching out with a newborn because, um, yeah, it's so fun.
It's from about six 30 to about 8 PM, which
is like Kai's quiet time. So it's not only disrupting
his quiet time. So then he's getting bitchy. Um, Yeah,

(53:50):
it's just, it's just, and you're kind of tired at
that time of day. So it's just, it's just brilliant.
It's just a really good vibe in the house around
then where we can't calm Banksy down because, so we're
going to try a new tactic tonight because Carly loves,
I've told you about this book, Mums on Call. So
Carly's like religiously into it.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
I have it.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Because it worked, yeah, because it worked fantastic for Kai.
But yeah, so Carly's very like to the, you know,
whereas I'm, you know, all over, she's very to the point.
So I just had a weird little chat last night.
Buy the books.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
We're going to move his bedtime an hour and a
half and see if that, because I think he's just
knackered at the end of the day. And he's just like,
you just give me a bath and get me to bed.
I just want bath, boob, bed. I want the three Bs.
And I just want to get, so.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
Three Bs sound great.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
I mean, let's be honest. Like that is the best.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
For you especially.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
That is amazing way to end the day.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Let's be real.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
So you can relate.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
So wishes look. So I can relate. I think that's
a fantastic routine. So yes, we're going to try and
move it back and have him at the same bath
time as Kai. Then Kai can relax. He'll get the boob.
We'll put him to bed and then I'll put Kai
to bed. And then me and Carly might actually get
half an hour where we can talk to each other
without passing out. So that's what we're going to do tonight.

(55:10):
That would be fun. That would actually be quite nice,
I think. It'd be great for us, I think, as adults.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
To have a little bit of adult connection.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
We are just so, we're fucked at like nine o'clock, mate.
I literally, I'm not even watching TV at night. I
literally cannot keep my eyes open.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
So that's my shish of the week is just my bebe.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Witching hour.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Being a boo boo.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
Good luck with witching hour tonight.

Speaker 3 (55:42):
Thank you. Keep me updated on the bebe room.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
I will.

Speaker 3 (55:45):
I will.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
I will. Yeah, it's going to be really cute. When
do you leave for Solheim?

Speaker 3 (55:53):
Saturday.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
Okay. I know.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
We're going to have to think about things for the pod.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
Yeah, because I'm going to be like 10 hours ahead
of you.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
Okay. Yeah, yeah. Okay, we'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Yes, we'll figure it out.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
All right. Bye.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Thanks for listening to Quiet Please. We'll be back next
