Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Reasonably Shady, a production of The Black Effect
Podcast Network and iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome to another episode of Reasonably Shaky. I am Jaseelle Bryant.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
What's up. What's up? I'm Robin Dixon. Thank you for
being here with us once again. Weekends in these streets.
You're in these streets. Everyone else is stuck in the house,
in the cold, in the snow.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Okay, the temperature seriously is out of control.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, it's crazy. It's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Back in the day, they would call like the old folks,
well maybe not the old folks was called it like
brick city. Like when it's called it's like brick city. Yeah,
it's concrete city. It's so cold, cold as bricks. Yes,
and it's and it's going to get worse. We haven't
even seen the worst of it. It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
What do you how can it get worse?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Well, as of today, there's like a it' said it's
going to be negative. It's going to feel like negative
five degrees here overnight. Something crazy. Okay, Well I'll be inside. Yeah,
and you know, it's crazy. Like we we've had, I
want to say, for the most part, we've had pretty
mild winters and I thought we were like on course
(01:24):
for that, and you know that stopped. That ended pull
out your firs. Yeah, your faith.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
So you have a shady moment.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I mean, nothing major, it's it is so as everyone
has already seen that, we filmed Ultimate Girl's Trip and
there was a stop in Atlanta. I live in Maryland.
The Potomac Ladies were invited to join the cast in Atlanta. Yes,
which I was excited about, Yes, very exciting. However, there
(02:06):
was a big snowstorm coming through, snowstorm, ice storm, the
biggest storm, and I'm reading the weather reports. It's the Cattish.
It's going to be catastrophic. Power is going to be
out and we're going to get two feet of snow
in the northeast and the Atlanta's going to get all
the ice blah blah blah blah. So I'm like, I'm
(02:27):
texting the people. I'm like, yeah, I'm not coming. I
am not coming in this. I'm not getting stuck down there.
I'm not doing it. So shady moment. Just I decided
to go, but I still was stuck in Atlanta. Wasn't
stuck as long as I could have been, but it
was just my flight, so we filmed Saturday. I was
(02:48):
supposed to come home on Sunday. I was stuck in
Atlanta until Monday. Luckily I got out on Monday, so
nothing major. It was actually pretty cool because like the
airports were all were dead. I mean, I have been
in Atlanta airport and it's like you're not like fighting
for your life everywhere. Just I mean it was crazy.
So airports were.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Dead and roads were clear.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Everything was fine. So better safe than sorry, I guess.
But I still made it. But I still had to
sit in a hotel room all day by myself.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Which you probably needed that quality quiet time robbing, right.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
You know, It's funny. It's like I didn't want to
be stuck in Atlanta, but when I processed it and
I was like, well, there's it's actually nice to like
be in a room by myself with like, yes, nobody
from my house saying I'm hungry, what are we eating
or you know whatever, being all up in my space
(03:49):
taking over my television telling me I'm looking at my
phone too much. So it turned it turned out, I
guess the shady moment was like I'm actually I actually
enjoy being stuck in Atlanta by myself. Yes, but I
was worried about my people back home because I was like, Okay,
they don't cook, so like they're going to have to
(04:11):
eat just cereal and like what they're gonna have uncrustables.
I don't know what they were going to eat, so
I was really like mostly concerned about that, like I
need to be able to cook them like meals well
because there was like no geor dash, like nobody can
get oh.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
No yeah yeah yeah, oh no no no yeah yeah,
completely snowed in, but whatever, we made it.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
In shady moment is I actually enjoyed being stuck in
Atlanta away from my family with no responsibilities. I'm not
mad at it. I'm coming out. You just need to
be it's solitude.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yes, yes, yes, okay, So my shady moment is I
was actually landed in JFK yesterday about nine o'clock nine fifteen.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Didn't get my bags until eleven thirty nine to fifteen
am PM. Oh you land at nine to fifteen pm
and you got your bags at eleven thirty pm. Yes,
and you were sitting at the airport for two hours
waiting for your bags.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Okay, so let me Yes, Okay, yes, to answer your question,
the whole point of this shade is Delta JFK do better?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay. So a lot of people that I.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Was with had air tags in their bags, so they
could see that the bags were.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Still on the plane.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Okay, wow, Okay, all the bags come out and then
the little tram thing stops and you're like where my
bags at? But there was so many people still waiting
that it was like, okay, this is something's wrong here.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
So then everyone started looking for where.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Their bags are and lo and behold, they're still on
the plane. So then I go to the little service
center for Delta, like customer service whatever, and I'm and
there's like a whole big line.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Because everybody's like when are our bags gonna come?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
These people were telling them, oh, we'll bring the bags
to you, like wherever you are in the streets. No, No,
I'm not leaving here without my bags that I know
are on the plane, Like why would I do that?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
So it's the reason that that they didn't get them off.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
The reason is the people that take the bags off
the plane took the bags off the plane and then
went and had a cigarette break or something, or they
just went and like they were hungry and they went
and ate like sa Chipotle.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Like the ship their ship was over, I guess, so,
but like you got to get everything off the plane.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
And then Mike, Mike going through my mind was thank
god it was late and that plane wasn't moving anymore
for the day.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
But if.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
They used that plane for another flight, you.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Still have our bags on the plane, right, Well that's
why they weren't. They weren't urgently getting them off because
they weren't using that plane for another flight. But still,
but why why not get all the bags off? That's crazy?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
So then I was like, we need a supervisor, you know,
because because when you're not take a note for an answer, no,
what a supervisor? So because I had to explain to
the people at customer service, this is these are all
these people here online.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
It's not an individual situation.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
All in this situation, which is our bags are still
on the plane, so go get a crew to go
get them.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Anyway, that was a mess, Delta, JFK, do better do better?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah, that's crazy. I mean it's crazy. Like if if
you can see where the bags are, other people's bags
are already off, yours are stuck like what's the reason
that's crazy? You know what's funny this The other day
when I was at bat baggage claim, I had this thought,
and I was like, what is the point if you're
flying first class or if you're like a priority member,
(08:08):
what is the point of them putting the tag on
your bag that says priority if your bags are not
coming off first? Like my you know what I'm saying.
I had to sit at baggage claim. My bags probably
came off last, and I'm like, what's the point of
them putting this tag on the bag? What is the point?
What's the point in putting a tag that says priority
(08:29):
when you're not the priority? Right? No one cares, No,
It's so like I've never understood that. I'm like, it's
very rare that my bag consistently comes off first, and
I just I don't understand the point of the tag.
And I'm sorry, guys, I know we're talking about like
real first world problems here, like woe is me? My
(08:50):
first class bags aren't coming off first? I know, I'm sorry. However,
what's the point of them tagging it as if they're
going to treat the bags like your first class or
with priority and still not put them on the on
the put them out first. That makes no sense. Yeah,
you know, totally.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
All right, we have to talk about Minneapolis because there's
like so much going on there and I kind of
little bit have been out of the.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Loop just because I've been traveling so much. So catch
me up. Yeah, So, you know, of course, ICE in
Minneapolis is out of control and they are being super
aggressive and super irresponsible in the way that they are
handling the citizen, the American citizens in the city of Minneapolis.
(09:39):
And so a second person has been murdered by ICE.
Actually it's probably more, you know, and I don't even
want to just limit it to these two, but these
are the two that have gotten the attention, probably because
we have the cell phone footage that yeah, clearly shows
that these people were murdered. That they should be alive today,
we're regardless of whatever the scenario was going on, Renee
(10:03):
Good was murdered and Alex Pretty was murdered by ICE
agents who clearly are not trained to handle de escalation
of situations. They're not equipped to handle just dealing with
tense situations, and they are power hungry. I don't know,
(10:28):
they are aggressive, they are they So the most recent one,
Alex Pretty was first of all, it was not a protest. Okay,
let me tell you this. The US government has labeled
him a terrorist. They said that he was equipped with
a gun and he was going to pretty much murder
multiple agents. Blah blah blah blah. And it's incredible and
(10:52):
astonishing and amazing how the administration and the government is
attempting to get is gaslighting everyone. Because we see the video,
we see that Alex Pretty was simply holding a cell
phone camera recording what was going on, standing up for
a woman who was being pretty much pushed around like
(11:13):
a rag doll by ice, right, So he's standing up
for the woman, trying to protect her. They are shoving him,
They spray him with pepper spray. They are shoving, shove
him down to the ground, and at some point they
discovered that he had a handgun in his waistband. It
was a holster in his waistband, and he has a
(11:38):
legal right to carry, but they took the wast the
handgun out of his waistband. And I haven't really figured
out if who's who shot first, whether it was the
man that took the gun out of the waistband, Like
did he shoot Alex's gun and then the other guys
(11:59):
got scared and Alex was shooting I don't know, or
and with his own gun. I don't know. See that's
the part I can't I can't decipher. Okay, Well, so no,
I don't think they shot him with his gun, but
I might think that the guy when he pulled the
gun out, it looked like he might have shot the
ground or something with his gun, do you know what
(12:19):
I'm saying? So, but I don't know. So it was
because it was kind of simultaneous. When the man pulls
his gun out the waistband and he's starting to walk away,
then you hear the shots go off. So they shoot him, right,
They don't shoot him one time? Two times? They shot
him ten times. He's laying on the ground, unarmed, not
(12:45):
you know, he was not. He was at the most
antagonizing them with you know, in their opinion, antagonizing them
with the cell phone, just recording the cell phone footage
and trying to protect the women that were being shoved
around by them. He was not coming at them. They
shot him ten times, And when is it going to end?
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Like?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
What?
Speaker 1 (13:08):
What in the world?
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Well it's happened. For them to leave, it's not.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Going to end as long as our government gets on
in front of the press conference and says, oh, he
he had a handgun and he was attempting to murder
ICE agents, like pretty much said he showed up to
a protest. It was not a protest. They were just
there trying to like wrangle people up. You know, they're
(13:35):
Christineolan pretty much. Oh, yeah, he was. He was going
to assassinate ICE agents. What come on now, Yes, yes,
it's crazy. That's what they're saying. That's what they're saying.
That's what Christinolman. Greg Bovino said that he was. He
was there to assassinate ICE agents and he had a gun.
He branches a gun and that's why they shot him,
which is so far, so far from the truth. We
(13:57):
can watch the video and it's like, I don't care
how many times you watch it, how many angles you
watch it from. None of that happened. That man was
there just trying to help the people that ICE was bullying. Period,
and they've been there for like what a month?
Speaker 2 (14:11):
When when when did the I can't remember her name, Yeah,
the lady that they rene good, Yeah, that was that
had to be like two three weeks ago, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
That was like three weeks ago. It was like three
weeks ago. Enough is enough? Like leeve, it's crazy, it's disgusting,
it's sick, it's sad. It's like, I mean, it turns
my stomach, like be happy that you've been out of
the loop, because if you look at it, you're like,
you're just you're sick to your stomach, and it really
does something to your mental It's like you do have
to step away and stop watching it. But you know
(14:42):
what's even crazier to me, maybe not crazier, but just
as crazy. So I would like post stuff in my
stories about the shooting and people are talking about, you know,
he was executed and people not a lot. But people
will respond, well, he shouldn't have been there in the
first place, or fafo or you know, like you have
(15:07):
we have the right to protest, Like it's right, right, right,
if he wasn't there, wouldn't have happened. Like, no, you
can say that for any scenario where somebody is murdered
or in a car accident. Yeah, if someone gets in
a car accident, if they didn't leave their house, they
wouldn't have gotten in that car accident, like cut it out.
But for the people to have tried to make an
(15:28):
excuse like what if that was your child that you
saw was not doing anything illegally, was pretty much protected
by their Second Amendment right and their First Amendment right
freedom of speech and freedom and what the right to
carry arms, which is so crazy because the Republicans are
so held bent on protecting that amendment, like the Second
(15:50):
Amendment is so important to them, the right to their arms.
And now because he had a gun, he got shot.
Even Trump Trump's that, oh, well, you just cannot show
up to a protest with a gun. What are you
talking about that? Kyle Rittenhouse walked through a protest with
a freaking ar whatever whatever rifle through the streets like
(16:15):
and it's so sad because, like like I've said before,
I can't remember what it was about. But this is
if Democrats would take accountability, if our government and our
leaders were making bullshit excuses like this, we would we
would say, oh, hell no, like it didn't happen that way,
(16:36):
stop lying, stop gas lighting. We wouldn't go for it.
If Obama, Biden, Kamala Harris, whoever, ha Kem Jeffreys, if
they tried to justify any of that shit, we would
be angry, just as angry as we are now. And
so it's just so hard to believe that there's so
many people on what is it, the right, that make
(16:58):
excuses for this stuff, that cover it up, that try
to to, you know, gloss over it. No, this is
not okay, it's not okay. What p Goldberg was like,
you know, Christy Noman, you have blood on your hands. Yes,
they all have blood on their hands. They all have
blood on their hands. And every person that tries to
make an excuse for this shit, every citizen that says, oh,
(17:19):
he shouldn't have been there, you have blood on your
hands too, because if the ship continues to happen, it's
because you are are quiet and you're you're allowing people
to allow it to continue to happen, Like it's just ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
And that guy that has to have his diaper changed.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Ultimately, the blood is all on your hands, sir, Yes, yes,
but it's on the people who don't stand up to him.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
It's on the hands of the all of the lawmakers, congressmen,
senators who don't speak up. The blood is on all
of your hands. This is crazy because he's only allowed
to do what he's doing because he has these people
in his pocket. Yeah, no, no question.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I always feel like.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Whatever, you can't really understand politically, the motivation I've been
taught whatever that always the motivation is money, right, Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Don't see it here, Like who's who's gaining money? Who's
making money here?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Nobody? Right, this is just a disaster, right, yeah? What
is what is the endgame here? I mean, honestly, we'll
see I think here that's that's what it was before
it was okay to be outrightly racist and outrightly a
white supremacist. Now your motivation and I guess it's kind
of still money at the end of it is pretty
(18:41):
much to maintain white supremacy, the power. It's the it's
I don't know, like that's that's the only thing I
can think of. It's the white supremacy of it all.
That's what it boils down to. And it's it's horrible,
it's really bad. Like if you look at this shit,
you're just going to be, oh, no, I am not
(19:03):
working today.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
And so I've decided, like I need to figure out
what's happening, not just with this but just with like
everything in the world.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
What's going on? Yeah? Yeah, all right, so switching gears
just a little bit.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
We need to clear up some things with the Edison
ladies because they love to talk about housewives.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
I was all watch Travels Life with Quad, yes, a
couple of weeks ago. So this is our first time
talking about it. Yeah, well, I think did you recorded? Well,
we talked about it on Patreon, but that was before
the episode aired, so I didn't see it, okay, And
then this is our first time talking about it on
the pot on Reasonably Shady since it aired.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yes, And just so everyone knows, like, and I don't
know if I said this on the Patreon that.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
When we had a I did.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
When we had a commercial break. She asked Andy to
ask her.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
About about Bravo con so that she could say what
she wanted to say so she could see it up right.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
So she was obviously practicing and really wanted to get
this off her chests.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
And what she doesn't know is if you asked yourself
anything passed two days ago.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
I don't remember, okay, right, Robin will remember.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
It'll take me a minute to remember, because when you were.
When you were like starting to tell me the story,
I was like, what is she talking about?
Speaker 3 (20:32):
What is she talking about?
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Because we said over and over again, or at least
I thought we were talking about Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
We were actually talking about Came Michelle and Ca. Michelle
addressed it, and we addressed Came Tochelle like like, well, no, no,
I talked about both Atlanta and married to Medicine. But
the problem, the problem is this, we talked about this
situation in like August, maybe early September. It was late
August or early September, right, So when she was there
(21:00):
and I can I could just tell like from your reaction,
you're like you were so lost, You're like anyway, right,
So I was extremely confused. I didn't know what she
was talking about. And it was like because she said
she because the question was about BRAVOCN And so you're
sitting there like thinking about Bravocon, like what did I
(21:21):
do at Bravocon? Like it didn't make like there was
no connection there. So I think that that kind of
messed things up to but go.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Ahead, yes, so, but again, this is something she clearly
wanted to get off her chest. And then they pulled
a clip what did I say in the clip that
they pulled Riston recycled or something? So yeah, so I
get so Quad was saying like, yeah, you said we were.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Recycled. Yeah, rent, yeah, I guess renting and recycling people
or something. And you were like, no, that was Robin
or whatever.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
But Sis, yeah, I love you down to the floor,
but you wasn't my good sore Wrol Honey say that
we were recycling the girls down to the TV show
recycling and that it was pilaging with Pilogon and and
Rummagen through the recycle being you said that we were
bringing on new girls that were recycled.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Rob said that about yes, but yes, good thing about
it is yeah, me and live women live about the numbers, don't.
And we've done very very well.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Yeah, I think we have actually done better than Potomac
and also Salt Lake City.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Oh yeah, the numbers.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Why, I'm just said we're good. You I've always been good, Okay,
but I heard it down today. I said, oh numbers, And.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Robin wasn't even talking about mary Ti Madison.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
She was talking about this Atlanta now.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
She was talking about Maryson Medisine too, And then they
pulled the clip right, and you said it, but the
way you said it was in response to what I
was saying, and you were like, oh so there, Oh
so you posed them more like a question, like oh
so they're renting and recycling people, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (22:51):
So let me let me just say this first and foremost,
I've been nothing but supportive of Mary to Madison. Don't
know what it is you is, don't know what the
beef is, don't care. Actually I don't even really understand
what is the issue, right, So okay, so the issue
for this is what I want to The issue I
(23:13):
think is that people maybe did not listen to everything
that we said.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
And if you're just watching clips with headlines that are
posed in a negative manner, then that's what you're going
to take away with from it, right totally. So So
if I was there, I wish I was there so
that I could kind of clear everything up. The first
thing I would say to my show war Quad is
(23:39):
and to Jack Miss Jackie, Doctor Jackie, and doctor Simone
and doctor Heavenly and doctor Contessa and Toya, I would
say this to all of them. In my opinion, Married
to Medicine has consistently been the best show on the network.
That's my opinion. So whatever we said unreasonably shady about
(24:04):
Mary Too Medicine was not a dig to the show
at all. I think they have been consistently the best show.
They have had the most consistent cast for I don't
know how many years, now, twelve maybe, So what I
said was I found it interesting. I think I said exactly.
(24:26):
This is exactly what I said. I said, I think
Atlanta is running out of people because the network is
now doing something which in the past they were against
doing when it came to casting, which was they are
casting women from other networks. And I know, just you know,
having insider information, I know that that was something that
(24:49):
they avoided doing. They did not want to hire people
from VH one if it wasn't in the NBC Universal family.
So but it wasn't like E Network or whatever. They
didn't they weren't interested in hi hiring talent that were
on other networks in other shows such as Love and
Hip Hop and Basketball Wives. So I said it kind
(25:11):
of jokingly, Oh my god, Atlanta must be run out
of people because now the network is doing something that
they traditionally have never done. Right, that was not a
knock to any That was not a knock to Real
Housewives of Atlanta. It was not a knock to Marriat
to medicine. It was not a knock to Ky Michelle.
It was not a knock to Angel from Basketball Wives
who was on marriage to medicine. It was an observation.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Okay, maybe it sounds it was to get worded in
a shady manner, but it was not a knock to
any of those shows. And I said, so they rent
to let and recycle it exactly That's what they're doing,
exactly right. But that still doesn't take away how great
the shows are. Right, So I sore or quad if
(25:55):
you were offended by what we said. If you think
that we were trying to tear your show down or
minis your show or anything like that, that was not
the case. And I apologize if that is how you
perceived it.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
And I'm sorry that you felt the need to bring
it to watch What Happens Live. I would have been
happy to explain it to you, but you know, it
is what it is, and hopefully you understand this now.
And I'm going to put this clip on our reasonably
shady page Instagram page. We are going to tag quad,
(26:29):
so we make sure that she sees this because we
know the other pages, the gossip page is the I
don't know whatever, the pages that talk all the gossip,
the negative stuff. They're only going to show like that.
Actually they probably won't show it because we're not saying
anything mean, or they're just going to pick out the
shady stuff. So let's say something mean so they'll show it.
So they'll show it.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Well, I was just trying to make a moment.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Girl. There you go, are you happy? There you go?
All right? And then when people say like, oh, she
threw Robin under the bus, I don't feel that way
because I would have been there and be like, yeah,
I said it. It was my topic, right, like you
you were caught off guard and you're like, okay, well
I don't know, I don't know what you say. And
Robin said that, like talk to Robin, I don't I'm fine.
(27:12):
You're not throwing me under the bus at all.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
No, And and wait, man, what I did know was
this was not a subject I brought up right right, no, right,
so I knew it was like, this is a Robin issue,
not an issue like this, ain't me right?
Speaker 1 (27:26):
You talked about it, right, that was my topic. It
was on. It was on in my notes on my phone.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
When I looked at my notes about what I want
to talk about, that was what I wanted to talk about, right,
And you're and that was when I brought it up.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
That was not your original thought, now, was it me?
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yeah? Because obviously everybody want to come back and right right,
and guess what, appreciate your probably rely Shady.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
We loved the download right right. Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
You know what's so funny? So Mary Cosby marries my girl?
She's so sweet, so funny.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
I was. I was getting the tea. I was asking
her about her documentary, talking about the documentary This is
All the Ultimate Girls Trip in Atlanta, and we were
just chip chating. I was talking her about, you know,
what's going on with her castmates and all different types
of stuff. And so we get to a topic about
someone else and she was like, Okay, Robin, now don't
talk about this on Reasonably Shady. I was like, I
(28:29):
won't marry you, have my word. It was so funny.
Though everyone knows, Okay, reasonably Shady, you're gonna be on.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
It's we're gonna get We're gonna get in trouble, we're
gonna do something, So Mary not to talk about her
reasonably shady or not to talk about this subject very
speaking of another reality show, Robin, I'm excited, Okay, I'm
pumped up.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Can't wait They're doing a documentary or just look back
on America's next top min.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Are you excited? I'm not excited for that.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Really, I want to know the ta I want to
know the backstory only because in that so season one,
season two, season three, this was iconic, like everybody was
staled in, everybody was watching, and it was you know,
Tyr was saying shit out of her mouth that we
hadn't heard before.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Like yes, right, right, Like what are you saying?
Speaker 5 (29:32):
Yes, she was the original mean girl, but she would
did it in a way that in that moment, I'm like,
is she really being a mean girl or is she
really just trying to help these girls get to be
a top biddle?
Speaker 1 (29:46):
What I mean?
Speaker 3 (29:46):
So, because it was it was borderline mean girls slash
big sister.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Right, I mean, it was definitely like and you can
kind of liken it to even back then when coaches,
like sports coaches, they could talk to players any type
of way and it wasn't. So it wasn't until people started,
like you know, going to the higher ups and complaining
or suing that now this type of communication was no
(30:12):
longer acceptable. But I think a lot of it is
like what do they call it tough love? They try
to try to disguise it as tough love, like Okay,
I'm gonna, you know, say something really mean, but it's
it's meant to like build your character and you know,
but I feel like in the modeling industry, it's like
(30:35):
these girls are already dealing with like insecurities and you know,
all types of other things, like they don't need to
be torn down.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
This was a time where supermodels were supermodels.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Like now models are influencers, models are Kim Kardashian. Models
are not like the Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell, the
Cindy Crawfords. So you know, a girl aspiring to be
a Tyra Banks was a real thing.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, yeah, but I don't think so. I mean, I
was never in the modeling industry, but so the ones
that that became supermodels, yeah, I don't think that they
became a supermodel because some person was like yelling at
them and being shady and saying mean negative things to them,
like they became a supermodel because they had it, whatever
(31:27):
it was, they had it. I mean, yes, they probably
experienced some crazy stuff, but I don't think they experienced
how how Tyro was treating these girls. I don't think
they experienced that.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
And I remember I was back then. I was dialed
in because I remember pulling for Eva.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
I don't know if you was season one or season two,
but she ended up not winning, right, but she ended
up being like, yeah, famous, someone talks about from that
from those from that show.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
But like I was in my bed with my popcorn,
I was like she better when like I was, I
was dialed in. So I'm looking forward to the documentary.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Yeah, I can't wait. I don't know when it's coming out,
but I think it's soon.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Like this reminds me of remember like Diddy when he
was doing Making the Band. Yeah, it was just so
it's like the way that Diddy treated the Making the
Band people is similar to how Tyra treated the people
in America's Next Top Model. So it was kind of
like a formula that they were like repeating everywhere, Like Okay,
you have this host that is really tough and mean
(32:33):
and controversial and it's fine, you know, but now we
clearly see that in twenty twenty six, it's just people
aren't going for that anymore.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
And like nobody can say nothing. I can't say rins
and recycle Like that's a problem, right right, as madam,
like how to get trashed? I mean, it's just like
what can we say these days?
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Right?
Speaker 1 (32:53):
We can't say anything but the but the government, the
administration could say whatever and just keep it moving. Like
that's crazy, crazy, okay, so oh yeah, go ahead. Can
I say one thing? I do want to clear something up.
This is for all you bloggers. Nobody was fighting like
Noah at the Ultimate Girls Trip in Atlanta. I saw
reports that Candace, Robin and Gazelle were fighting no no
(33:19):
and Ashley and Ashley. Yeah, but I can only speak
for myself because you know, I wasn't around y'all every
waking second I had. I did not have a confrontation
with Canvas, So please let that go. I didn't even
said and you didn't either. You didn't have a confrontation either,
So yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
So another thing that has me in Choco t I
has a new rap song out What he does as in, uh,
what's t I's name, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
I damn it.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
He got a news and that thing is a buger
And I'm like, it's his old sound. Yeah, it's his
old sound. Do you know a song I'm talking about? No, okay,
we're gonna put it. We're gonna put it in this
in this podcast. Okay, if t I will let us,
it's his old sound. But like with the twenty twenty
(34:13):
six Oh really, okay, I'm here for you.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Tip for you. Where did you hear the song? Oh
it's it's produced by Pharrell Williams. Okay, okay, so that's
that's why it's giving you old t I and all
of that because Pharrell. Yes, all right, t I and
Pharrell are back. Let him know. Is that what it's called? Yes? Yes, yes,
Why am I? I heard this? And I'm okay. So
(34:39):
I'm not like a huge TI fan, but like he
his bangers are bangals. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, I'm this. Yeah,
Oh I think I have heard this.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Yes, that has definitely given me like back like days
when we would just be back in the club just
party and dancing and having fun. Like this is not
that music that my kids, and my kids barely even
listen to it. But the rappers, the rap music of today,
this is not that. So this is great. This is
a throwback.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
And we all know Drake is on hiatus, whether he
want to be or not.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Oh, leave Drake alone, Leave Drake alone. Its right?
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Is I want to talk about something because I'm we
might be moving to Japan. Okay, Japan is officially the
country of no. Okay, it's what you are allowed to
do in Japan.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Are you ready rocking? Yes?
Speaker 2 (35:43):
No?
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Tipping?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Oh, well, that's but that's something in Europe they don't tip.
We're the actually no, we're like the only country I guess,
like the the Caribbean places too, maybe, but like we're
the only country that tips. Right. I want I want
to I want to be I want that to be us. Yeah.
I'm sick of it of it. I'm sick of slipping.
I'm sick of tipping at like places that where we
(36:07):
traditionally did not tip before, Like tipping out a restaurant
where people are rating on you. Fine, but tipping at Starbucks, well,
I know Starbucks is fine. Okay, let me think right.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
My thing is put it restaurants and all that, y'all
pay them more? Why is it for me to be
making sure that these people are good?
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Like, no, right now, right now now? If I feel
like like if you're come to get my bags or
you know, if you're doing that kind.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Of stuff, of course, yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
But these outrageous.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Thirty percent tip y'all, y'all my yalling yet and going
crazy with it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
It's curract. I'm moving to Japan. That's one, all right,
No tipping in Japan? Okay, what's next?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
No phone calls on trains?
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Mmm?
Speaker 3 (36:54):
You want to train?
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I'm moving there? What I'm for this?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
I'm gonna tell you why, Like if you're on a
sub you know, and you're kind of tight with people,
or just think about like let's just say you you
went through well I know you don't do this because
I know you. But you know, Atlanta's airport has that
little tram thing, yeah, to get you from when you
walk into the gates, right, Robin, don't get on it
(37:18):
because she walks.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
I walk, I get on it. If I'm tight on time,
I will get on it. Okay.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
So that thing is always packed and people are on
their phone. You don't want to I don't want to
hear what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Get up the boat. It's down top. So oh, I'm sorry,
I'm guilty of that. So I know, I know I'm guilty.
Number three, no.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Eating now this is when I'm not going to be
moving to Japan. No eating while walking.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I do a whole lot of things in walking to
see I can agree with that one. Why just focus
on on walking, Just focus on getting to where you're going,
and then eat. Well, what if you're multitasking? I mean, okay,
can you eat like a bar?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Like?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
What kind of eating are we talking about?
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Like anything chewing?
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Your mouth is moving with food in it. Okay, these rules?
Do people get arrested if they break these rules? I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
They say no public affection. I'm like, stop kissing. I mean,
do I need to walk down the sheet and see
you tongue in somebody down? Okay, it's just should be levels.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yes you peck, no tongue. Yes, you can hold hands,
you can, yes, you can hug. Yes, we don't need
to see no one. We don't need to see anyone
tongue in each other down anywhere ever in public? Right?
Speaker 2 (38:36):
No, okay, this this is this is my favorite because
I broke up with the guy. I think I've said
this before. I broke up with the guy because he
did this incessant lean.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
It bothered me. No talking in elevators. What you get
on that elevator? What silence?
Speaker 4 (38:56):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (38:56):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Why?
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Because it's annoying?
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Number one?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
And if you're talking, it's such close quarters that like
bacteria is flying all over the place, that's coming out
of your mouth, Like no, just close your mouth, get
to your floor and get off the elevator.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Really, yes, okay, I would agree with that. He's dating Robin.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
He used to be. He wanted to be mister personality
in elevators.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
And talk to everybody. People get on like Hi, how
are you doing? What are you doing today? Oh my gosh,
y'all are such a cute couple. And you broke up
with them because of that? Broke up? Okay, okay, But
I was always like, why why do you talk to
these people? Like are you cat painting? For something that's
(39:41):
going on? He has to do that, not just on
the elevator. That just has to be everywhere he goes.
He doesn't just save that for the elevator.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Wind up kind of but like the elevator is when
he like, that's when his superpowers came out. He was like,
I'm gonna make all these people my friendsh what.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
Weirdo. Yeah, okay, all right, well I'm not moving to
Japan for that reason. For those reasons.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
No, well wait, if we could implement some of them
over here, that would be great.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Some of them would be good some of them. But
I would be guilty of some of it for sure.
So no, okay, this is this is this is one.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Other thing that the young folks are doing that I
do not agree with. Okay, this just happened to me recently. So,
oh lord, recently I went to a.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Wedding and it was catered or whatever. I mean.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
They had like what do you call it, past or
derbs and a little buffet but like no big deal.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
But it was very much, you know, heavy alcohol.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
And then afterwards the it was two guys the groom
in the groom said hey, we're having a party at
another place and oh my gosh, it's gonna be catered
by McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Oh I said, no, they can. I want that?
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Right?
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Is this supposed to entice me?
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Well, right, McDonald's is feeding me?
Speaker 2 (41:16):
No what But it's it's not like a thing like
McDonald's like catering all of these weddings. Like they have packages.
They have wedding packages. What yes, oh wow they have
like we'll we'll bring you.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
A gazillion chicken mcnuggs burgers. Wow. Okay, yeah no, that's crazy.
That is yeah, let's lea leave that for the young folks.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
They introduced a two hundred and thirty five dollars wedding
package with a hundred boxes of nuggets.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
No, no, just bring the sundays. Give me a Sunday,
a hot fudge Sunday with some peanuts, some nuts or it,
and that's all I need.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
And we all know McDonald's food last seven minutes.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
McDonald's food last seventy years.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Like no, no, no, like after they give it to you,
oh right, yes, yeah, No, those fries are disgusting.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
No you need them hot. You need you need the
fries nice and hot. No, no, just trash McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
We have.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
I mean we didn't trash it, but you know we're
just yeah, I'm not with that. I mean, what if
that's that's not going to entice me to be like, oh,
let me go to your party, because McDonald's just catering it, right,
So I was like, I kind of like to tell him,
like stop telling people that, Like that's right. Not excited,
but you know it. At Bravo Con in one of
(42:48):
the hospitality suites, I think Wendy's catered. I remember like
walking in and they were like, oh, Wendy's is catering,
and I'm like, yes, huh, okay.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
Well, I mean Wendy's is a huge sponsor Bravo Con
from what I understand.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Okay, well I get that.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
And you know, I have done a commercial for Wendy's
and if they want to hire me again, so I
mean I get that they're they're trying. I think fast
food is probably I think about it struggling to some
degree because you know, people have kind of like moved
to eat in other ways, right yeah, And if that's
(43:25):
the way of kind of just making sure that they
stay on people's minds, then I get it.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Yeah. I think it's more so like, right, most most
of us don't eat McDonald's and Wendy's on a regular anymore,
and so having it catered at a wedding is kind
of like, oh, Okay, this is cool. It's like it's
different because we're not eating Wendy's and McDonald's like that
on a regular Yeah, and maybe it's like a little
bit more nostalgic.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
Yeah, yes, yes, yes, yes, Okay, I want to I
want to leave the people on this note.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
Okay, I have something I wanted to talk about.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
Oh okay, okay, go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
I'm sorry, but maybe I'll save it for next week.
I'll save it for next week. Oh no, let's do
it now. Okay. So do you remember a few episodes
ago we talked about who had to get up from
the table?
Speaker 2 (44:12):
And yes, give me say some I got personal I
got calls from like my personal phone, like, oh my gosh,
Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson, why would you do that to
Jane Jackson?
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Right, of course is the obvious answer, Oh my gosh,
leave Luther alone.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
Like people were upset, Yes, yes, people were enraged.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
People were like, Robin, you must never been never seeing
Janet Jackson a concert? Actually I have, yes, and she
was very good. I enjoyed her. But she's still get up. Okay,
thank you. So, so I have another one. I have
a new one. This one is who at the table
got to get up? For jay Z to have a seat. Okay, okay,
(44:57):
at the table, we have Snoop Dogg, Doctor Dre, Eminem,
Kendrick Lamar, Tupac, Biggie, fifty Cent, ice Cube, and Lil Wayne.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
So.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
To be honest, in my opinion, Tupac and Biggie can stay.
Everybody else gotta get up. I don't care, no, no, no,
I'm saying, I don't care. I don't care who it is.
Y'all can get up, Okay, any of them, any of
y'all can get up. And of course Eminem, you can
get up. You can get up. Okay. Eminem is not
(45:34):
even at the table. He's at the table. I mean right,
he would never be at the table. Yeah, he's gone.
He's got to get up. I'm just saying, jay Z, Tupac, Biggie,
y'all can y'all at the table. I don't care the
three y'all by y'allself. The rest of them whatever, they
can come if they want, but all of them can
get up. How we put how is ice Cube at
(45:55):
the table? True? Well, because if you think about n
Wa like he was, he was, he was just pivotal
in that moment like n w A in that moment,
and that's the key thing in that moment. Jay Z
is decades. Yes, yes, he's legendary, Yes, legendary.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
And what he came out what in the nineties, Yeah, had.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
Hit and hits in the nineties, had hits in the
two thousands, and now the tens of the decades.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
Damn it. Yes, now it's jay Z or Boss for me. Yeah, yeah,
that's what I'm saying. All of them can get up
except for two BAC and Biggie, and then any of
the rest of them can get up. Let me see, okay,
if I had to, Yeah, all of them can get
up except for two Back and Biggie. That's it. Yeah,
I mean I think that.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
But let's talk about like like I think Snoop, I
think an ice cube and a Snoop and Doctor Dre
and a doct Dre. Like when was the last time
Drake came out with music? Spent a long time right exactly,
And yeah, see they're there. People are not as like
legendary as the R and B singers. Yeah so, but
(47:15):
like Wayne gotta stay.
Speaker 1 (47:16):
But listen, I know you don't like him, but they
need to make room for Drake. Drake needs to be
at this table.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
Okay, fine, we can put Drake at the table and
guess who else is going at the table?
Speaker 1 (47:28):
Who with this new song?
Speaker 4 (47:31):
T I?
Speaker 1 (47:32):
Okay, he said, yeah, I will put TI over somebody
our Kendrick could probably stay. Let's see, definitely staying fifty.
Gotta get up fifty.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
Yeah, because fifty you haven't done anything in yeah, fifteen
twenty years.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
Yeah, he gotta get up. Yeah. I don't know, You're
not as strong in my opinion, but no, but.
Speaker 2 (47:58):
Jay's at the table, Wayne's at the table. We're gonna
throw t I definitely Tupac and Bickie yes. And Drake, Oh,
Kendrick and Drake.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
I guess who else were throwing that table? Just because
we you know, have you seen him lately?
Speaker 1 (48:14):
He is so fine. Chris Brown. Chris Brown is just
like have y'all he.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
Whoever is putting him in a particular street and have
him walk down to take pictures of him?
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Yes, all of it is perfection. Did you ever go
to his show?
Speaker 4 (48:36):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (48:37):
Oh you did? Okay, okay, I went to his show.
I lit the show. I don't know I was there.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Let's say the show started at eight. It was probably
it's probably eleven o'clock I left, Chris was still on
the stage.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Oh wow, Okay. I was like, I don't have this
kind of energy, sir, but he was amazing. Yeah, yeah
he has. He has matured very nicely. What, Yes, he
looks good.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
I mean I think you were mad Rian, if you
you know, decide one want to circle back without nevermind,
I forget it.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
They were young. There were babies when that happened, you.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Know anyway, Oh no, no, No, only thing I have
to I want to say before we get out of here. Okay,
So Robin, this is actually for me okay.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Lately, because I haven't been able to get there lately. Okay,
hold on.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Oh and then we have to have we talked about
the whole David No, Victoria Beckham and the.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Oh no we haven't and her son next week. Okay,
that's the whole thing. Yeah. I feel like we touched
on a while ago, but it's gotten worse. It's gotten
but I have I just have one main observation that
let me know whose team I'm on, and then okay,
we'll talk about that next time. Okay. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
So research claims that just thinking about the gym can
be as effective oh really going, Oh, maybe.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
That's why I'm keeping like my my figure kind of
tight because I think about it. I definitely think about it.
I definitely say, oh, I need to go to the gym, okay,
and that is why you look so good. Robert probably
never should have told me that, because now I'm never
going to the gym. Now I'm just going, yeah, just continue.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
To think about it, and it's as effective as you
doing like a five mile run while wait.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Okay, all right, that's good to know. That's good to
know that that really just mess things for me. Yes,
think about it. On Rinson repeats, right, all right, guys,
that is our episode.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
We love y'all so much to ever forget to live
your life either reasonable or it's shakey.
Speaker 1 (50:49):
Or boat what.
Speaker 4 (50:51):
Or both?
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Yes, that's what I say, goodbye or both.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
By Reasonably Shady is a production of the Black Effect
