of a sudden, she goes around them right into the

I scream, coming up on the left. She's moving to
the left, and I nearly hit them. She goes, well,
you knew it ran over those people, I said, because
I did it right. It's coming up on the left.
You went to the right, you know, could you could
you not see me go on the right? I did, honey,
But the thing is coming up on the left. I
just automatically been saying, coming up on the left, you
went rogue. You're the one that flushed the quail right

into the shoes. To say anything to them, she just
went she just went run around, And I said, I said,
I thought I said that the rules coming up on
the left. I'm a roof. I follow the rules of biking,
you know I don't. I don't go rogue and just
jump the grass and go right around people. You're the
one that confused them.

I understand that maybe I could have, but I'm used
to coming up on the left. I scream, coming on

So anyway, so Greg and I are on the way
back at our own pace. Now there's hills on this
trail that are horrifying. Now they're not really people are.
It's at the beach, so we're not talking about a
Florida hills. And we were, we were on our way back.
We're on our way back, so we a little bit tired.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But the highest point in Florida is like twenty six foot.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Well, as a matter of fact, Blue Mountain Beach is
the highest point down there. You know, they call it
Blue Mountain, but it ought to be Blue Hill, bitch.
But it's set up on a little cliff you're looking over,
so you're you're gonna come up.

So what do you do, especially at our age, if you.

Know that there's an incline coming and you and you're
declining down another hill. You want you want that momentum
you're pumping, You want that momentum. Well, what do we
always talk? We teach your kids this and they drive
to the same thing on the bike. Don't trust stop signs? Okay,
and I know that, Greg, You you mean it's somebody
else won't stop.

You can't say, well, they got to stop sign, so
they're gonna stop. You should always caution that they might
not stop. Yeah, that's called defensive driving. Assume they're not right. Well,
and we all know that, especially if you're on a bicycle.
But we're real tired. Well, we've got momentum. But part
of the trail periodically goes past beach communities are places

where you can get rentals that have yates or whatever.
There's people coming out of these beach communities across the
bike path out to.

Okay, so you don't have a stop and they all
have a stop sign. You're supposed to stop. You make
sure nobody's coming down the back trip. Okay, but we
know better than that. Okay, I'm guilty. I'm fifty two
years old. Okay, Greg and I have momentum. He's we
needed it, and we needed the momentum. We needed it badly.

Yeah, so I'm behind Greg. We're pretty close. There's probably

I can see the reflection in the windows that it's

stop signing. We were willing to die rather than lose moment, right, okay,

because we didn't back off.

stop signing.

Of course, look it's now I'm going. Now, I'm going

You know, like that? And and the guy how he
didn't hit me?

Because when I cleared him, I thought, if Rick hadn't stopped,
I was waiting to look and see Rick come over
the hood and he hit We even went back and
look what would have happened to me? I think, sadly,
he knocks me into traffic and I'm killed because he
would have hit me on the side, you know.

I wasn't. It wasn't like I hit front and I
had gone up on his on his hood that back wheel.

That's possibly he would have hit me here and shot
me into the into the trash.

He comes always about halfway through the stop sign. He's

the truck. He's coming through the stop sign. I'm right
behind Greg and it's like this, and then there's me
and he literally stops, and I'm I'm here, and I'm
sliding around the front of it. And then I get

about right here and I start screaming, hey man, you
just see it stop sign? And you also screamed you
killed my momentum, right, And now now I've lost my momentum,
which is why. But Greg and I then begin to
discuss we know we needed to stop, yes for that,
And even in my mind, thinking, you know, you don't
need to assume he's gonna stop.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
God, I had momentum.

the truth. Bubba started tennis because Betty started it, and
he was getting left at home a lot doing chores
and looking after the kids because Betty was playing tennis
and you're on. You admitted in this book that you
basically took up tennis because you wanted to go where
she was so you would quit being left at home. Yeah, sure, sure,

a very nice lady and she gets to do a
lot of photo ops and hand the checks out, but
he's the one that signs the check.

and he said, there's a book about tennis, and he
looked at him.

He said, ohyeah, I've read that book. And I said,
excuse me, you've.

Read a book, The Inner Game, and and Bubba said, yes,
yes I have.

I said, so, you've read the book and he said yes,
and and and then he then read what he's written. Yeah,
he hasn't even read one of the five we've done.

ever have your dog headed to a vet was dog dips.

And and you got that at the co op. Yeah,

And that really was it. I mean you said, well,
what about if your dog was injured or really sick.
Now when you went to warm and you go buy
that the worm peels, but you would shove them down
their throat and hold their mouth together and blowing their nose.

I remember having to worm the beagles. That was standard.

there in the wild, I mean Mama and Daddy putting
down an old towel. Yeah, the best you could do

And if licking the wound won't fix it, he's gone. Yeah.
If your dog could not lick his wound back to health,
