Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's speedy, And this is Rick and Bubba's greatest tits,
flashing back through thirty one years of Radio Gold every
Saturday morning, wherever you get your podcast, it's Ricking Bubba's
greatest tits, Ricking Bubba, Ricking Bubba.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Anybody, tiredbody, no.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Baby jo.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
I understand some of you that don't don't like and
you you just have a hard time. I mean, we
all do it time to time with Trump's personality and
all this it's the cult up personality. But y'all can't
be serious about Biden.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
I mean, straight up. I mean.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
And we used to laugh at some of the gaffs
at George W. Bush and they were funny. You edit
them together, especially those that I'm talking about Obgyn doctors.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
But yes, showing them for what they do. But uh,
but I gotta go, that was funny. I don't care
who you are, Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative. We all put
our arms around each other and laughed at that. That
was well, the gaps that we have on the show funny.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
But this is we're not running for present.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
This is beyond that. We're not running for president. And
and George W. Bush got his words twisted up, which
I found to be just hilarious. This this sounds like
someone that is that is losing their faculties.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
Well, and I do. And that's my big concern. That's different.
Speaker 7 (01:27):
It is they have to you're gonna hear what he
actually said, and then you hear it slowed down a
little bit because you can't understand what he's actually saying.
And so the slow down is it's just funny altogether.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
But I can't believe this guy's running. I can't either.
His mouth in Pennsylvania, it's like.
Speaker 7 (01:44):
He's too cold, can't speak. You know, how you get
you can't get it out.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yeah, So Trump hit three different places in Pennsylvania, had
roaring crowds, people going nuts about an hour and a
half every time, shooting off the hip, you know. And
and then this is Biden's return. All right, here's he
is still in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Vote ring.
Speaker 8 (02:01):
My grandpapa's name, Andre Ambrose Finnigan.

His kitchen table, I learned my.
Speaker 8 (02:07):
He used to say, may us to say, Joey, nobody's
better than you, but you're no better.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Than anybody else.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
Maybe it's the scrand name.
Speaker 8 (02:15):
You've got a little bit of a chip on my shoulder,
worried about where they can make next month's more mortgage payment.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Well, it is what it is because he is who
he is.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
That's why it is what it is. He was who
he is.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I don't remember what he he went on.
Speaker 8 (02:32):
He was gonna convince Bob Woodward what a smart guy
he was.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
So you want to, yeah, smart guy.
Speaker 8 (02:38):
Ilated affects of strategy to mobilized tru sufferge of pressure,
isolating plenties, China, true pressure, isolating.
Speaker 5 (02:52):

Speaker 8 (02:54):
Donald Trump thinks Healthcare'm tired of smart guys.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
I got it.
Speaker 8 (03:01):

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Lower than our power.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
There's low with in our power.
Speaker 5 (03:10):

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Man, hang on, hang on.
Speaker 8 (03:20):
To send every single person qualified to Cunity College three.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
College three.
Speaker 8 (03:30):
And if I keep going, you're gonna freeze your fingers off.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
It wasn't.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
It wasn't.
Speaker 8 (03:37):
Donald Trump had delivered on a damn thing he said
he'd do.
Speaker 9 (03:42):
Oh my goodness, my god, that videospody.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
I know, and that told me.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
That was all at one stop did from different places.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Ten minutes span.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
That was in that college.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
I man, smell that you I ain't for away.
Speaker 4 (04:13):

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Back and yell Rick Yeah, he had that phenas Brown

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Joe Biden him, Joe Biden.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
I should have gone to Kenny College. We figured that
part of it. His face was frozen, you know when
the cod there is.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Like, I can't because you know, my granddad.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Ain't no better than anybody.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Else better You ain't.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
I thought he said finish and ferbid.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Something else in all me yesterday is that he was
trying to talk and his handlers were trying to wrap
him up, but he took he wanted to take some
questions from reporters. I'm sure that the questions were already
fed to him prior to him doing it. But there
was like this clock tower or something, some bail going
off in the background, and you couldn't hear anything he
was saying.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
And this just owns me. I'm sorry.
Speaker 8 (05:20):
Look, you know, if you have children and you're raised,
our parents are taught that the example is set in
facts on are your kids react when you're.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Example you set you do?
Speaker 8 (05:47):
It matters for the rest of the company. Well, the
words of a president and the actions of the president,
they matter, They matter a great deal.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
It was not agree.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
With you.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Oh my goodness, come on, man, Pea.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Sou I mean this guy honestly, I'm being straight up. So, so, really,
what this is those y'all that are voting for him,
You're voting for Kamala Harris. You're voting for the ideology.
He's not gonna be able to He's not gonna be
able to pull it together. And you have the people
behind the scenes trying to get us to the Marxist
(06:31):
world you want to.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
They're voting for an ideal.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Yeah, and look, and I can understand this is ideology
versus ideology. But because you know, you the faculty situation here,
I mean, I'm not a doctor, but I can diagnose
this because we've seen it in our own family. We've
seen it that we know what it looks like. And
sometimes on this show you can hear it as well.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Yeah, so it's because this there's no.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Way when out of right just locked up.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
I think when you see lock up, it causes you
to lock have you noticed, of course, because on here,
if you ever make fun of somebody doing something, it'll
get you the.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
Next I don't think it's too much to ask for
the best and brightest to run for president of the
United States.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Well, but who would want to do? You knowestly?
Speaker 7 (07:19):
I mean, I know, but I but there are people
think about this, what you can what you just said
may be met exclusive you know, it may it may
be a contradiction in terms the best in bridest run
for president.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I don't know that the best in bride is probably
got enough sense not to.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Yeah, that's what made me the best of the brides.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Job. I mean forty seven years.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
This cat's been hanging around for we heard Johnny Carson,
and he's been can.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
We hear it?
Speaker 4 (07:48):
And he's been involved in all kinds of issues. It's
just got his resumes just it's just got.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Dirt all over it.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
And he has the audacity the stand up in front
of the American people after the forty seven year resume
he has and say at seventy what seventy four?
Speaker 7 (08:05):
And look, the Laft doesn't have the corner market on
sticking around too long.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
They all do it like a gravy train. Yeah, but
it's there's the Johnny Carson.
Speaker 10 (08:16):
This is talking about and he's been having He went
around and made a speech and apparently he quoted a
I think it was a British politician, took his speech
and kind of paraphrased it as his own, and then
the press got on him, and then he was charged
also with taking part of Bobby Kennedy's speeches. And Biden says,
(08:37):
not to worry. He reassured his staff. He said, we
have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
I think they got it.
Speaker 11 (08:50):
Got Dunity College senior say, Bubba, all right, so first
of all, on this bike trail that runs, I don't
know the mileage, but it it's I know where we
went was nine point six and it's probably at least
another ten miles to the end of it, maybe more, maybe.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
More like twelve.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
I didn't see the end of it, right. We went
halfway from where we were and then back and it
was nine.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
You have a lot of traffic coming the other way
on it.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Uh, it was Yeah, it was about how wide is
every now And you'd have to tell somebody on your left,
it's about as wide as like your street your neighborhood
was Yeah, it's not like the Yeah, las looks like
a full lane compared to yeah, it's not as oh yeah,
so anyway, uh so put it this way, when you passed,
when you when you pass people on it, I mean
it's close, it's like you would pass it, you know.
(09:39):
And you know, of course when people walking or slower
people only coming up on the left, which didn't.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
They pass up left? You're passing on the left, coming
up on.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
The left, yeah, coming up on the left right bike, Yeah,
And I don't know bike.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Move that well. That was one of the things. Now listen, listen,
I know a lot of them.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
There's a bunch of them. I'd like to get out
the highway when I'm trying to drive.
Speaker 5 (10:01):
I know that well.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
And that led to like that led to one controversy
and then just a bit of a spat between my
wife and I. She was always ahead. She's always leading,
you know, because she's so fast on the bike. When
it comes to this bike thing, what's her bike deal?
I don't know if she loves it. So there were
people walking, so I've been I've been doing coming up
on the left. That's what we're supposed to do. All
of a sudden, she goes around them right into the
(10:23):
grass and goes around them. Well I'm way back, so
I scream, coming up on the left. She's moving to
the left, and I nearly hit them. She goes, well,
you knew it ran over those people, I said, because
I did it right. It's coming up on the left.
You went to the right, you know, could you could
you not see me go on the right? I did, honey,
But the thing is coming up on the left. I
just automatically been saying, coming up on the left, you
went rogue. You're the one that flushed the quail right
(10:44):
into the shoes. To say anything to them, she just
went she just went run around, And I said, I said,
I thought I said that the rules coming up on
the left. I'm a roof. I follow the rules of biking,
you know I don't. I don't go rogue and just
jump the grass and go right around people. You're the
one that confused them.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
It wasn't me. Did you not see me go right?
You couldn't adjust that.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
I understand that maybe I could have, but I'm used
to coming up on the left. I scream, coming on
the left, and you flushed them.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
To the left.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
So anyway, so Greg and I are on the way
back at our own pace. Now there's hills on this
trail that are horrifying. Now they're not really people are.
It's at the beach, so we're not talking about a
Florida hills. And we were, we were on our way back.
We're on our way back, so we a little bit tired.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But the highest point in Florida is like twenty six foot.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Well, as a matter of fact, Blue Mountain Beach is
the highest point down there. You know, they call it
Blue Mountain, but it ought to be Blue Hill, bitch.
But it's set up on a little cliff you're looking over,
so you're you're gonna come up.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
So what do you do, especially at our age, if you.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Know that there's an incline coming and you and you're
declining down another hill. You want you want that momentum
you're pumping, You want that momentum. Well, what do we
always talk? We teach your kids this and they drive
to the same thing on the bike. Don't trust stop signs? Okay,
and I know that, Greg, You you mean it's somebody
else won't stop.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Yeah, you can't.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
You can't say, well, they got to stop sign, so
they're gonna stop. You should always caution that they might
not stop. Yeah, that's called defensive driving. Assume they're not right. Well,
and we all know that, especially if you're on a bicycle.
But we're real tired. Well, we've got momentum. But part
of the trail periodically goes past beach communities are places
(12:18):
where you can get rentals that have yates or whatever.
There's people coming out of these beach communities across the
bike path out to.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
The main road.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Okay, so you don't have a stop and they all
have a stop sign. You're supposed to stop. You make
sure nobody's coming down the back trip. Okay, but we
know better than that. Okay, I'm guilty. I'm fifty two
years old. Okay, Greg and I have momentum. He's we
needed it, and we needed the momentum. We needed it badly.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Breeze is feeling good.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, so I'm behind Greg. We're pretty close. There's probably
about this kind of drafting.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Maybe a buyer faster than one. Yep, maybe a bick
distance between us. Okay, so we're drafted. I see the truck,
I can see the reflection in the windows that it's
coming up to the sun, and I go oh, wow,
here you comes. And I think to myself and I said, oh,
he's got to stop signing. I said, he's got to
stop signing. We were willing to die rather than lose moment, right, okay,
(13:12):
because we didn't back off.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
We did not back off.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Here's the bad part.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
He didn't either.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Oh so Greg goes by him barely barely he I mean,
how he didn't kill me? We still don't know. Instead
of God just saying not today. You know, hey, all
the day, all the days your life are written in
my boat before you ever lived one, in today's not
to day. I heard Rick screaming, hey, buddy, you gotta
stop signing.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Of course, look it's now I'm going. Now, I'm going
like that? Is I go by? You have a stop sign?
You know, like that? And and the guy how he
didn't hit me?
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Because when I cleared him, I thought, if Rick hadn't stopped,
I was waiting to look and see Rick come over
the hood and he hit We even went back and
look what would have happened to me? I think, sadly,
he knocks me into traffic and I'm killed because he
would have hit me on the side, you know.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
I wasn't. It wasn't like I hit front and I
had gone up on his on his hood that back wheel.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
That's possibly he would have hit me here and shot
me into the into the trash.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
That's just not the way you want to go.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
No, And but but then we discussed, but he did.
He stopped.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Finally he was way out of I kid you not.
He comes always about halfway through the stop sign. He's
doing this. Greg goes by those of you I know
on radio, can't can't but picture that. So here comes
the truck. He's coming through the stop sign. I'm right
behind Greg and it's like this, and then there's me
and he literally stops, and I'm I'm here, and I'm
sliding around the front of it. And then I get
(14:38):
about right here and I start screaming, hey man, you
just see it stop sign? And you also screamed you
killed my momentum, right, And now now I've lost my momentum,
which is why. But Greg and I then begin to
discuss we know we needed to stop, yes for that,
And even in my mind, thinking, you know, you don't
need to assume he's gonna stop.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
God, I had momentum.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Out of it.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Let's time to rocket right in front of him. Uh huh.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
But see we started, we started thinking we're so old
and our legs are burning so much, we're willing to
to tempt death.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Not to lose momentum. I mean, we were literally ready
that I did.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
The first thing I thought of was I won if
Bubba has this key mate insurance, because he nearly got
to cash it out.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Hey, buddy, so if you were on water, you would
have fishtailed a little bit.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
I mean you you fished out in the box, and
maybe the fishtail kept him from buffing me at all.
Now he did, he did get stopped. That's the reason
why I wouldn't have I mean, but his I kid
you not. I mean, I I do this another to
another two foot he hits.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
You me, darn me darting in front of him.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Probably made that hell great, probably saved me last night, speedy,
I can't.
Speaker 10 (15:43):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
You know, we we think we know this thing with Bubba.
You know, I'm studying Bubba in this tennis obsession, these
tennis and you know what in the book, Rick and
Bubba's a god to the almost nearly perfect marriage. Bubba,
honestly and transparently, either you really said this or I
said it and put your name on it in this book.
(16:05):
Maybe the latter, how about this, But either way, it's
the truth. Yes, okay, I don't know how I got
the information or how they got it, but it is
the truth. Bubba started tennis because Betty started it, and
he was getting left at home a lot doing chores
and looking after the kids because Betty was playing tennis
and you're on. You admitted in this book that you
basically took up tennis because you wanted to go where
she was so you would quit being left at home. Yeah, sure, sure,
(16:28):
so want to be part of the fun. You know me, Rick,
I like being in the group, have fun.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
I don't know if you know that, but you openly
admit that in this book. Yes, yes, so.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
You Rick for helping me openly admit that. Right, But anyway,
so anything else I need to know?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Right and then and then it locked in and Bubba
became totally obsessed with and then you have that personality.
I'm I'm thankful that you never you know, took a
locking to you know, Jack Daniels or or his cousin
Jim Beam.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
I do have a slightly obsessive personality. But it's a
little different than say, Ryan.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
You know, you know last night she didn't have his
money up.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Last night I was Elizabeth, Elizabeth, could you bought up
Bryan's mike or maybe Angel, Angel, if I could just.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Say something, If I could just say something, Guys that Ryan, uh,
Bubba makes Ryan look like a little kidney kindergartener or something.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
You know, I mean speedy speed. You embarrassed you, You're
one correct. I went into the dinner last night. Bubba
had us eat with one of the big wigs in
the US T A rick.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
It was Gordon Smith, who is the executive director of
the UST that's the United States Tennis Association. He is
racket holder number one. Okay, I mean you don't understand.
I mean he he is the man.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
We have a president who is a volunteer and it's
a very nice lady and she gets to do a
lot of photo ops and hand the checks out, but
he's the one that signs the check.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
Everybody here, I want everybody right here.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Look, I have been doing this study and last night,
if I was Indiana Jones, last night is when I
found the arc.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
Of the government. I found here.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I discovered aliens have come and landed here and uh,
you know, and I've also whatever that thing he was
after in Temple of the daw that rock well Rick.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
When I met Gordon, he told me he was a
fan of the show. He said, I listened to it
in Atlanta when I lived there and commuted to New
York and said, my wife listens. And he wanted to
meet you, and he said, look, when you're in New York,
you're my guest, and uh, you look me up.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
So that's what I did, Uh, speedy, And here here's
what I wanted to find out last night.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
I wanted to.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
I went in ranking the following things, Ryan Greenland's obsession
with the Miami Dolphins and his daughter's teams, namely the Frenzy,
which is one of his travel something teams.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yeah, one of the travels. Thoughtful.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
So wait, I think it's only fair you go with
Ryan one time to observe too.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
So you've got a closer that I'll just say, Ryan
on Miami Dolphins because I have seen it. Okay, and
speedy with the sidewinders that I went in to try
to find out where this ranks. Okay, Yes, here's some
things that popped out at me. Ryan Greenwood knows everything
about the Miami Dolphins. But that has been a lifetime
(19:27):
of research. You know so much about tennis in this
short period of time.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
I could only.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Conclude that you have been wallering in it, watching it,
researching it, obsessing over it. It is in pop You
haven't even read the Rick and Bubba's almost nearly perfect marriage.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Okay, he sat upright to the point where.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
The popcorn thing. Listen to this, speedy, and I want
you to hear me. There were a couple of markers
that jumped out last night. I'm here, I'm good. Bubba's
looking at Gordon, who, by the way, he even scared
Gordon last night. He looked at Gordon at one point,
and I guess he forgot I was in the room
and he said, there's a book about tennis, and he
looked at him.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
He said, ohyeah, I've read that book. And I said,
excuse me, you've.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Read a book, The Inner Game, and and Bubba said, yes,
yes I have.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
I said, so, you've read the book and he said yes,
and and and then he then read what he's written. Yeah,
he hasn't even read one of the five we've done.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Okay, the proofs are so boring.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Yeah, not only has he has he he only written
one of them. He hasn't read any of the Look
he told Gordon lastly, he said, I think I'm gonna
write a book about tennis. We think about that, Rick,
I said, I'm just be glad to hear you wrote one.
But look here here's the thing. He's going to play
(20:57):
tennis while you're writing it, right right, that I wrote
this book while Bubba playtip. But but listen to this now, seriously,
he knows you.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
I mean, and I don't know that anytime I knew
you prior to your jump to tennis, did you follow
tennis much more than anybody else?
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Would you knew the big names?
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Yeah, So for you to gather that much information and
this shortest short amount of time, the time you're spending
pursuing tennis has been paramount.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
It's been big. I mean, you have spent you are
totally the.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Well I mean he tv on at the house. Gordon
said things.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
That Bubba told Gordon, things that Gordon didn't Goordan didn't
even know.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
And you could watch Gordon's face go from I'm glad
I'm here while this is fun to.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
If I don't just announce I gotta leave, he'll keep
me here all night.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
All right, Well this was about at what time, like
Gordon was getting embarrassed that he didn't know enough about tennis.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
What time did we wrap up?
Speaker 12 (22:00):
He could carry He is the president, right, yeah, he's
an executive director, executive director of all times right at
one and here you.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Trust me, when the US Open comes, he'll have the
best seat.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Trust And by the way, watching Bubba shamelessly start taking
stuff from Gordon to get into the US Open was unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
And he started started on his kids.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
But he wanted me to sit in the press that's
box and you so I said, no, I don't want freebies.
Really a speedy you know that one you know that
one track of land that Bubba's kind of ignoring now
that I keep trying to get.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
He gave it to Gordon. He just gave it to
him straight up.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
So soon a great training facility.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Look, look, Gordon to the deer hunt you know. Gordon
told him, like the deer hunting says, I got a
track of land you have?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
And so where was there any time that you felt
like you were uncomfortable? You just need to leave them
by themselves. Yeah, I mean was no, you know what
I was. I wanted to go over and get that
puppy away from Bud because I was prad he was
gonna hurt it. I mean he was squeezing up a little. Yeah,
just like that day that that was a big marker.
That day that we did a show on the road,
(23:13):
Bubba landed, put on a suit, drove downtown to a meeting.
You remember that that love that story by that was
a big marker.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Well, last night, I kid you not, it was Ryan
and I who starts saying, y'all, we gotta go to bed.
I'm convinced Bubba would have talked to Gordon to the
top of the hour theme up today's program, I mean Gordon,
Gordon finally said I gotta go.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Gordon finally said I gotta go.
Speaker 13 (23:48):
It was.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
And it wasn't his wife because she wasn't even here.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
No, do you and I know you had him all
by yourself. Yeah, do you remember, Speedy? How what if
we're on the road. Now, keep in mind, Bubba's been
He's had.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
To fly commercial, a lot of delays coming in. I mean,
you know, you know Bubba's bed time. It's practically Bubba's
bedtime when we're sitting down to eat. Okay, and you
know we met at eight fifteen, yes, which which is
forty five minutes from hometoime that Bubba goes to bed, right, Okay,
two and a half to three hours later we are
(24:21):
we I mean he's still got more.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
I mean he would keep going. Anyone left in the restaurant. Besides,
you know there's one.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
There's one guy. Waiter has stopped coming back. The waiter
got to the point he's going. You know, if you
need water, you're.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
On your own.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
The guys who cleaned the tables up were already sitting
down eating.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
You know what I mean, Bobba, do you know that
a piece of whale made? It was crazy.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
The reason why I couldn't go home, the reason why
I couldn't get waters. Our waiter was having a steak sandwich.
He was at the point where he's going out here,
I'm gonna eat that.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Look, there's a reason. There's a reason for that.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
It wasn't just that I was enjoying our fellowship time
with the Gordon and catching up with me. You know,
I to you remember, I mean, I've had this head coach.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
So I had to go to the doctor yesterday before
we flew.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Keep that in mind too. That's you need to know
that he also didn't He also didn't feel well. All
this would have signaled under normal circumstances that Bubba would
have said, Look, I gotta give the room, get in
bed right right. There was one room service.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
There was one point during the show yesterday I thought
I'd just go home, go to bed, forget New York.
Speaker 5 (25:21):
Would there have been would there be anything that would
have kept you from Gordon?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Uh? Well, yesterday was bad.
Speaker 6 (25:27):
But I'm gonna tell you when you get that shot
in the middle of the day, you know that whatever
they give you, that steroid shot, uh, and you know,
get your few prescriptions go and you know how you
know I can't go to sleep tonight.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
After I get all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Hey, I mean I was up thinking everything was funny about.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
To Yeah, well he was.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Do you know that you're coming on that strong when
you're doing it or or you gotta get you gotta
get slapped out of it?
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Unbelievable. I will say this.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
I have come to the conclusion that Bill Bubba Bussy
and his relationship with Tennis has now trumped Ryan in
the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Oh you and the sidewinders an't even.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Ain't yeah embarrassed, I am too if I don't kiss
damn rid On about bank got a check ricking bubba.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
You know, you looked around and there's a lot of
things that we have to work our way through. And
one of the things you start hearing more and more
about is, you know, problems involving ticks. You know, there
was a time we were growing up, we got a chick
on you. You know, somebody took their cigarette they were smoking.
They they put it behind your ear. They touched the ticky,
let go and they got rid of. Everybody moved on, right.
But you know ticks now have you know, did a
(26:31):
lot of problems with well.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
Rick, it may be a part of the bigger picture.
You know, we've got flesh eating bacteria and the water.
You know, we got this, we got that the bowls
here north of Perica. Yeah, I mean we have done
for a bowl of what it couldn't do on its own,
transported to this continent.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Uh, you know, so.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
It just it's crazy after did John, No, ticks are
a big part of my life right now.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
Really. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Uh, we've been having an issue with ticks at the
house so much so that Cook's Past Control is coming.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
Out today to pray for ticks.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Really, we've got frontline, like on our Australian Shepherd. We
we do all the stuff that they're still coming on
and we have so many deer that come in the property.
We're feeling we think maybe that's how they're getting there.
I don't know, but yeah, it's been a dicks kick.
(27:21):
Sorry to hear that, right.
Speaker 13 (27:24):
I'll tell you that ain't covered this story.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
If you just enjoyed us, none of our business speed Uh,
I couldn't set no plane.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
We are recording over.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
There, right, Oh good.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
I just will say hello to everybody on the best Uh.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
That's that, That's that's why it's fun to be in
the gold ticket sage right there.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Or are listening some of you may be outside the
delay sphere, and uh, sorry about that.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
We got it twice so serious.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
I think I think we dumped there.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
We dumped everything back to fifteen after.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Yeah, we're still dumbing. We're still dumb, speedy. Let me
just move ahead back that.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
Let me move ahead with this tick story.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
By the way, if you listen. I think locally somebody's
advertising might be to.
Speaker 6 (28:27):
Have Yeah, Rick, you know, sometimes I'm critical of Greg
building the wall and Adler now built the wall.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Speedy build a wall.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Uh what I picked up on something from Speed too.
I've noticed I've noticed from years too, and I don't
know what it is. And I don't know if it's
I don't know if it's breed pride. Have you noticed
Speedy whenever just tell you his dog. He always teaches
Australian shepherd. You just say my dog.
Speaker 6 (28:57):
I mean, I'm quite frankly he's got other things on
the side.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
So uh got a little trouble with they're Australian shepherd.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
It's never just a dog. I know, Bill all he's
giving me trouble. Had a big scare. We got fact
you wouldn't believe the scare. We think you yea. Even
though we put front line on it, it's still not
working on It.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Was a tough summer speaking.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
I'm not trying to hear what mis using that front lines.
Speaker 5 (29:33):
In front.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
The directions I had said, put it down their bike.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
I know he didn't read them. Great ship, see what's
going on in our house?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Oh, we got him yes, was funny.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
Keep paying up that I was frozen.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
It's funny he can read some butt, but he's hollering.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
I was frozen because I couldn't live.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
I said, all the boy raised, and go ahead and
get that valley storm shelter.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
The shell.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I got a stare.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
They stop, please stop. I can't believe. I said that
I can't, and said, it's so.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Funny that no one was talking.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
You had the flower. At one moment I thought.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
That he was, yeah, tick, we can't take we can't
dump anymore before the next heart.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
Didn't he say it twice?
Speaker 3 (30:41):
No, just one stop.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
In my mind it was twice. I didn't mean to.
Did you get that?
Speaker 14 (30:49):
You have?
Speaker 5 (30:50):
You did? Had the floor?
Speaker 4 (30:51):
He wasn't just throwing his finger in there, and the
whole room was listening, like I have this scare to report.
If you notice you've heard your sirens, let me tell
you why. Don't need to panic, believe in orderly factor.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
Did you get it? Yes? We did.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I'm sure getting a lot of a lot of texts too.
Well the delay dump so I don't know what.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
Wow, that's good, it made it on air. That's worth
you going to.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Well, I'm getting text saying they didn't hear it.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
What No, If you're again, if you're watching, if you're
watching on U stream or listening online or sitting in
the going ticket seat.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
You got it. Yeah, I apologize.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
We can't delay everything.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
We can't protect all that. We're living a time. People
going access to show. However, they camp.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
When we come about, tune in when we're when we come.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
Yeah, we grow up. You heard it, you know I
didn't we grow I really didn't mean to.
Speaker 15 (32:06):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Cut's mark off.
Speaker 7 (32:07):
You have to go.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
Okay, buddy, you don't have left. You need to go
talk to them. They're the ones who got blindsided with.
Speaker 10 (32:12):
You, ma'am.
Speaker 5 (32:13):

most of them don't have a very good reputation. They
never meet deadlins, they always charge you more than they say.
And but you know, if you could just pre screen
the wouldn't that be great? And you can do that
with a free service rebuild one two three dot home
advisor dot com. We've used him at the house. They
give you people in your neighborhood where you live that
are pre screened and have good reviews, and we'll do
(33:20):

of hassle. As a matter of fact, I saw Speedy
and Rebuild one two three dot home advisor dot com
just moments ago trying to find the right person to
take care of his scare.
Speaker 5 (33:29):

Speaker 5 (34:00):

Speaker 6 (34:15):
Well, you know we uh well all that stuff and
put it in. You know, it looks like when we
practiced with it.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I think they were like me, y'all froze for a second,
and I think there was a touch of Rick wanted
to let it go on.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
Well, you know, it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
I mean, it's it's yeah, I mean it's it's somewhat
offence it but I mean it's not like I mean
it was it was it was it.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
Was a misspe. It was a misspe.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
If someone was trying to be offensive, that's when you dump, hey,
dump right boo.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
But when it's a misspeak, you almost want to let
it go.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
What do you do?
Speaker 16 (34:42):
Boo?
Speaker 5 (34:43):
Duff that?
Speaker 4 (34:45):
But really, now, the amount of time, the amount of
time we when we pressed the button that really should
have been plenty of time.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
I think we hit it. I think I hate it.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
After you, well, what problem is that you heard it?
Speaker 10 (34:56):
It?
Speaker 5 (34:57):
Dump it?
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Just right after you talked, when you reluctantly hit the buttons,
that which I was too busy laughing.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
Correct, I had to look at you and Rick dump that? Well,
that was I was enjoying. Want to dump it? I
know there was a moment I was frozen.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Let me ask you this, what's Cook's best control gonna
do about it? You know that's what happened to mom.
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
I'm just kidding one. I'm laughing. The I'm so sorry.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Lock them out, knock them out.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
The uh okay, hey, y'all quit send them emails. Okay,
my box is full now of emails, y'all.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
What is wrong with y'all?
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Fady, I'd like to get through the rest of this hour.
Can you just go sit in the back somewhere. I
don't want you to make some adjustments going forward. When
you refer to some of the habitst your dog, just
call it your dog, Okay, don't give us the breath.
We know that you haven't. People who do that, I
almost like think you're gonna just I know it was
an austrangingship.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
Can change. Well, I was just saying it because I
didn't know you did to have a dog. I don't
do that on purpose.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Please read that email, not out loud, just you know,
to kind of let you know what everybody I.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Want to know more about.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
Kind of what.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
I'm not even who's gonna take that? Monstrong and somebody
said the way the delay worked. All they got was
one word and it was where we were going to stop.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
Didn't hear anything else.
Speaker 14 (36:30):
I don't know what. What's his problem? Greg's rude to read.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
He did it not near as bad, but he did
it on the sports RS one day and didn't catch it.
Didn't say that no, but a word that you It
wasn't horrible, but well this word's go listen. He didn't
know he said it, and me and hell we got
to laugh. We could he finish the show.
Speaker 5 (36:57):
Look it might have been.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
And the problem is if you're the guy that said
it and you don't know you said it, I can't
figure out.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
And you're afraid what am I saying that? You know?
Speaker 4 (37:06):
In all honesty Speedy has been quite upset since we
were accused of killing mister Clark. But he might have
just been You might have been just on my that
I loved him. You sure did, by the way, we
did not. We did not kill mister Clark.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
I've never seen my scream for a dump on their
self like you Rick, dump that. I was enjoying natural,
But yeah, it was on. I could. I was frozen.
Speaker 10 (37:26):
I could.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Dump that.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
You just people are saying that Speedy needs to step
out and have a smoke.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Let him do it.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Do you have one right there? I couldn't. I was frozen.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
It's funny, very funny. We don't want to talk about
ticks now.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Picture bad. Let's move on. Yeah, y'all can say that
story s all right, buddy. You didn't mean to they did.
You got a little bit of stammer to you.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Like somebody just said they just spit their coffee out
into the car and it's all over their dash and everything.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Well, I'll say, if you had buzzbox, I wouldn't happen
them of your mouth cannot spit it. And I took
a sip right before you said it.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
Oh I know, well I've done that before. And it's
spewed everywhere. The comments on Twitter, I don't mean to
it's Bubba. What was that comment? What was that that
thing about ticks?
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Now, here's where you here's when you know dancing.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
You're not gonna believe who just TEGs me? Of all people,
this is not gonna make you feel better. Gary the
bulldozer and here's his ticks. I can't believe he said that.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
Gary.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
Gary's Gary.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
All right now, I will say this. Now, we got
up there saying, look the Philly that I was listening to.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
You did not hear it.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Well, so it was all according with your wricking bub
experience was Yes, yeah, what you means the delay is
not a catch off. We do the best we can.

Just to May said loud and clear. Just made my day.
Thanks God. Find out how they're getting the show.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Hustle heard it loud and clear.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
I've had a bunch of of.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
I don't I don't see how they heard what you
heard in the editor over there.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Here's this just heard it on the tune in app.
It was even funny when I realized I could rewind
it and hear it again.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
That's weird.
Speaker 13 (39:27):
Yeah, I don't see how I hate people like Yeah,
it's a free app too. I hate to go to
the technical side of this, but if anybody can't hear it,
I don't see how anybody else can other than the Internet.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Yeah, as far as affiliates, there shouldn't be some affiliates
who have got it. You who didn't, no TV, I
know their delays is tied in there somewhere. They shouldn't
have got it.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
But well, here's here's how sick I am.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
We're we're talking about man, some you know, like, I'm
glad some of them got you know, did it worked.
I wish it wouldn't have worked for anybody. I'm mad
that some of them didn't hear it. More than that,
I'm mad that they did. I wanted everybody to hear it.
Thanks Greg, hilarious, Thank you buddy. Well, it wasn't no
bad intent, right, It wasn't using it in the harsh
It was speedy and that it's something about it being
(40:13):
linked with the word fear, is that is that's so
that's sad.
Speaker 7 (40:16):
Standing got somebody coming out today.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
We don't solve this, not gonna live in fear.
Speaker 10 (40:24):
There.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
It's a scare calling the professionals. Here comes Cook. I've
heard it, look a look a looky, but this is
incredible and there getting this.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
One guy said, you made my day so much you've
temporary temporarily redeemed yourself from playing video on the radio.
Speaker 5 (40:46):
Well it goes back to this. I had to go
other day.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
I said, look, don't claim you listened to show this
log and didn't be surprised by the things we do.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
You know what, So Speedy, maybe you just think take
a break.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
But your thought it's obvious your your families and and
and some distress over there.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
So just yeah, just calm down. We're getting sprayed today.
Look you look you look you. Here comes Cood.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
What was that?
Speaker 3 (41:10):
I just got scared by something?
Speaker 5 (41:13):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (41:15):
He's the kid that was over there watching everybody playing
the playground. He's like, man, I wish I could get
the game.
Speaker 5 (41:22):
That would be a scare wowing.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
That's about time for break, Greg Greg and Birmingham Greg,
go ahead.
Speaker 17 (41:33):
The Speedy's message came through loud and clear to us
here in Birmingham, and uh it was kind of funny
because right after you guys cut off for the break,
the first news blip was about a guy that went
to the hospital that.

injuries and training camp.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
Right now? Are you the commissioner of this league again?
Speaker 18 (46:39):
And the one that I renewed from last season? Yes?

Speaker 5 (46:47):
What's the name of your team?
Speaker 18 (46:50):
I haven't decided that yet. I changed it because I
didn't do well last year or so.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
What was the name of it last year?
Speaker 18 (46:57):
I don't remember. Actually, I can't say you of the

you and mama? Yeah, dog's doing okay?
Speaker 5 (47:41):

Speaker 4 (47:43):
Well look, man, I don't want you to You've got
on the whole show to get through. So I don't
want you I don't I don't want to give you out.
I don't want you to burn out. You know, it's
better than fading away. But litten, let's not take you
to the top.
Speaker 18 (47:53):
All right, Chance, I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
All right, Man, back to it, back to it. There
you goes, Chance, Master control. I'm gonna learn martial arts
this weekend, and it's gonna go back and listen to
the last hour because as you said, you don't know
all the things he's got gone.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Oh he's a busy man. Lot going on.
Speaker 5 (48:12):
So let's try about the long star tick. Rick.
Speaker 3 (48:16):
I think it's best we just let that go till
next hour.
Speaker 5 (48:20):
Well, I mean you got let them read about it.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
You have plenty I can get it in three minutes.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
Now.
Speaker 6 (48:29):
When you talk about people with this terrible illness, I
just don't think we can do it with all the snickering.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
So you're saying we should have done. You sure can't talk.
Speaker 4 (48:37):
You sure can't talk about a giant jellyfish, and you
sure don't do the story about a man armed with
a loaf leaf blower was arrested doing guard work in
the news.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
You can't do that one now, So I don't. I
don't want to get naked.
Speaker 4 (48:49):
Uh. By the way, on on a on a super
serious note, we are bombing Iraq, by the way, that started.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Well, authorization had gone out earlier. Yeah, that was coming.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Here's the story that kind of ties into what we
were doing. Miley Cyrus special sparks FCC investigation into nbz's
possibly violations just airing her special right. So that one
ties in a little bit to what we're talking about
just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (49:15):
We know how they are about punishing people.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Right, you know, Milly's just she's a process stage two.
Somebody's used to give her a scrub. Yeah, she needs something.
She needs to bathe and maybe have frontline put on her.
Speaker 5 (49:25):
She just needs.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
You know, I do every spring.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
Oh yeah, the dim the right in the old barrel.
Speaker 4 (49:34):
Yeah, you remember, we talk about this all the time,
and when when you because we when we were growing up,
the treatment of dogs is just so much different than
it is now. And the only time that you would
ever have your dog headed to a vet was dog dips.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
But they would dip them for ticks.
Speaker 4 (49:54):
And and you got that at the co op. Yeah,
you can do it to co op or whatever at home. Yeah,
And that really was it. I mean you said, well,
what about if your dog was injured or really sick.
Now when you went to warm and you go buy
that the worm peels, but you would shove them down
their throat and hold their mouth together and blowing their nose.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
That's great. Didn't do that. The mat didn't do that.
You just go by and pick them up. Yeah. Yeah,
I remember having to worm the beagles. That was standard.
But we had one chewables he rubber throat. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
If you if you had a beloved yard dog that
somehow got hit by something or injured out in out
there in the wild, I mean Mama and Daddy putting
down an old towel. Yeah, the best you could do
was a box. Hope he makes it, Yeah, and put
him down there and say good luck to him. I hope,
I hope he works through it.
Speaker 5 (50:36):
And if licking the wound won't fix it, he's gone. Yeah.
If your dog could not lick his wound back to health,
it was, it was, it was. It was pretty much over. Yeah.
And a lot of people tell me to get chickens
for the yard. No, you know what.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Guineas will really eat ticks, they really, Yes, absolutely got to.
Speaker 5 (50:54):
Listen to them. I got coots coming out. They'll take
care of a goose too.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
Just it's just a little bit of a get you
a goose, A goose will get to do.
Speaker 5 (51:00):
You don't want to gang a guineas in the yard loud.
Speaker 4 (51:04):
They always look so busy though they do. They are
looks like a bunch of old ladies coming buy all
the time.
Speaker 5 (51:10):
They'll panic, run out and trafficking.
Speaker 6 (51:11):
Yeah, they're not the smartest, the smartest.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
Oh I hit a pile of them one time. You
never heard his rack? All right, then keep your tick?
Then fine, don't get guineas. How about how about it?
Speaker 6 (51:21):
You know you know what would help speedy burn your
yard off every year, the entire yard in the spring
burn it.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
No, it does it makes it come back grited.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
What about yard for a little while? Ibout if I
just get cooks to come out spray.
Speaker 4 (51:35):
Remember, I guarantee they're gonna they're gonna talk about long
term solutions on it's gonna involve guineas and burn it
and a big old goose.
Speaker 5 (51:42):
What such a scare around the house. I want to
get a take jail. Well, that's obviously there's an issue.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
If you leave us, have a big weekend. You got
more ricking Bubba. Top of the hour, We'll be right.
Speaker 15 (51:51):
Back ricking Bubba, Ricking Bubba.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
Hey, it's and this is Rick and Bubba's greatest tits
flashing back through thirty one years of radio gold every
Saturday morning, wherever you get your podcast, it's Rick and
