Tits flashing back through thirty one years of Radio Gold.
Every Saturday morning, wherever you get your podcast, it's Rick
and Bubba's Greatest Tits, Rick.

Right, Now, it's those moments on the program for those
of you that are veterans that you love, and it's
when we take the curtain and we pull it back
and we go inside the biz and we talk about
things that no one ever talks about and we talk
of the reality of situations. There has been an ongoing
deal with us goes way back. We've been doing the
show twenty four years, so I would think this is
probably twenty twenty one years.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Yeah, at least at least.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
So there's this, you know, And I mentioned in the
older O'Reilly Auto Parts upcoming events. We've been doing the
show not every year, but ninety percent of the years
we've done a live show. From a celebrity program. This
involves what's the current is it Champions Tours what was
called them? Yeah, this is the older guys that are
big names that are playing still playing professional.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Fifty and over.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
The Champions tour and there's one of their big events
that comes to our part of the world, and so
we have done the show. Even for those of you
that are not in the home market that are hearing
out a lot of the country. You get to hear's
interview celebrities and stuff like that that are playing, and
there's been some good shows. This is where Speedy streaking
incident took place.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
But there was a.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Time when we were not allowed to even be at
this celebrity proram because those powers that be didn't think
we ranked the level of being there even to covering.
So we did some things that got that resolved by
the way that we do things, and so we got
our way in and then we want to go the

(01:42):
next step, and that was to get some of our
guys that play golf into the celebrity pro am. I
don't play golf, so I don't know any think about golf,
so I was not an option. Bubba, Speedy, Helmsey are
all options. And so Bubba has kind of been the
main stay because he's number two, and you know, and
when they started cutting us down to HOI mean we
could have in there. Bubba has remained. So we have

often noticed.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
But number three in coffee here on the show.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Well, but but that they want the biggest name.

Speaker 6 (02:11):
We're all half.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
They want the biggest name, and you've want to trophy.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
I've hit more people than anybody here.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
You've played with a lot of big names, and that
helps us out. We had a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
So but they've never ever mentioned any member of the
show in the list of celebrities that will be playing.
And we've we've often we've always taken issue with that.
One year we did a famous show when we read
a list of people that this show outranks.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
We were just.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So but Rick, just real quick. It's been it's been
a process. Get there all right, We got there, We're now,
we're we're on location. Hey, you're too loud, You're you're
a nuisance, you're a problem. We're looking right, things like that.
I don't know why they'd be upset. Hey you're a
media but you're not part of media. Everybody else in
media didn't like you.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
You know.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
It's that all those things. Yeah, it's that outlaw.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
We're here, we are the golf course, and no golf
course etiquette at all on the from the staff right,
and you're you're a problem.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
But yet there seems to be a lot of people
that listen to y'all. We don't know why, and it
sells tickets, and so we were having to tolerate y'all.
So we started to say, well, we know why aren't
you listing Bubba as one of the celebrities. And we
know why because the other media whines in christ where.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
It's baby and so, and Gene tries to keep all
of us gets coverage from all of them.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
So Gene Hallman does not want to have to get
out the bottle and have to nurse the local.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
The local media.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
So he's like, if I let them in there, they're
gonna claim even though the show may you know, be
syndicated and being other places and all that, if I'd
say something about them, the local media is gonna cry
and I'm gonna have to start listening. And then there
were times some of them got listened and we still
didn't get listed. So we have been pushing that Gene
and the people will stop having this weird relationship with

us where they need us but they're embarrassed of us,
and we won't Bubba listed on the celebrities playing in
the Celebrity program since he is playing and it has
finally happened, Am I correct?

Speaker 7 (04:26):
Speeding?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yes, Angel, who what we love to work with and
who I work with a lot on the live broadcast
into the scheduling of that day's show, she sent me
an email and she said, please take a look at
our celebrity page and give me your top five interview
requests here in a minute. Correct, she said, Then once
the tea times are finalized, then we can look at
things you know and see and determine who might be

possible to come to the show. And so I go
to I click on the link, and I'm there, and
I start scrolling through the list, and I see coach
Nick Saban University of Alabama, coach mals On, Auburn University,
Kirby Smart, University of Georgia, Condealeza Rice, doctor Condalieza Rice,
former Secretary of State, Bo Jackson, Laura Rutledge of ESPN,

Tommy Tuberville, former Auburn football coach Matt Luke from Ole
Miss Hurt.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
And it just keeps on going on, going on, going on.
Then on down right by Taylor Hicks, who is that?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
And and there it is Bubba Bussy co host Rick
and Bubba show.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
He made you made the list? Now they got it.
They took a picture from nineteen eighty four. He has
a flat type an. He weighs about left.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
I don't well, look, if you're gonna put a picture
in there, put a good one.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
But I don't recall.

I don't recall you an adult form every being back Lean.

I know what happened. I just forgotten how.

You Remember you said I don't look like Bubba's cousin playing.

It's like they've taken Helmsey's and put your head on it.
Bub I'd forgotten how lean you actually got.

Gave you Sergeant Carter's hair, and it changed the whole
look of your face.

Your face is completely different. Yeah, is that what you
really look like?

It's a picture, I guess, but you know what I mean.

Which one's right, the fat face or that face? It

color is even different. I don't know why you got
your watch leaves on, but it is the summer.

would run in and say they got it. You know what.

I'd already been asked when I joined The Blue Man

Sure, first of all, get me that Bill Bussy. I

I've got to say, based on the story that came
out of it last year, we've got to have Tommy.

Tupp I agree that he won't come back.

That was a sports headline story for about two weeks.

But he won't come in. He won't come anywhere.

He will he loves it, he won't he does. You
saw he was having a great time, Bubby. He was
so relaxed. He was really saying what he thought.

Can you imagine now any of the local media people
listening on this, because if not, they're they're gonna have it.

They're gonna lose your mind.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
No, yeah, we better screenshot this. It'll be taking at

In this picture, you really do have tiny throat and
look at it.

I tell you what's funny to me is think about it.

I noticed Auburn out University's new athletic director. Yeah Brown,
I'm sorry, brand new. His debut is a picture next
to Sorry, Alan shorry about that? Allen, I like dot Allen. Okay,

They're very nice folks and they want to do an
interview with yours truly, Ricking Bubba. Now, if you've been

We've sent Speedy through different things, We've had Bubba walk
through things. Bubba and I both have walked through camera

like Alabama football coach Nick Saban, we'll joined professional golfers
out on the links and CBS forty to news reporter
Michael Oda is live at Regions this morning at gray Stone. Michael,
the golfers started to arrive, and I guess you're having
fun out there.

So what they have look at?

Yeah, you know, we'll starting to see the grounds crewis
get out. It's a little damp if you haven't heard
Ashley Gant's forecast, but it's not phasing. The two celebrities
standing on either side of me, Rick and Bubb of
our friends over one or four point seven w z
z K and Uh, we're gonna start over here with
Rick because you guys are broadcasting.

Out here this morning, you're doing their first show.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
And certainly the weather always I never knew it happened
with rain was pouring down on us as we were
setting up today, but.

Speaker 7 (11:14):
He said, so I was looking around, it's gonna be comfortable.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
But if you live in this part of the world
in May, you've got these for today, it's kind of
hard to complain.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
I know, I feel lucky.

Speaker 11 (11:23):
I'm in shorts today on television, so I'm pretty happy
about that. You guys have been out here for years
and years and years. What is it about the circus
on pro am day that kind of makes it just
fun to watch?

Speaker 7 (11:33):
Well, it's a lot of.

Fun because you know, it's it's kind of you have
the plan that that that you're wanting to implement, then
you have what actually happens, and but you know, it's
it's a lot of fun for everybody. We've been out
here doing the broadcast. Bub and I were talking before
we went on there. I think we've been on there
twenty three years. I think most of that we've been
here at least nineteen twenty years of it, and we've
had our own Rick and Bubble moments out here that
have been historic in their own right, and and a

couple of times we've been we've been asked not to
come back.

Speaker 11 (11:59):
Hopefully that's not the case this year. But let's get
to the man of the morning here, and this is Bubba.
You are playing in the program today and you are
paired up with John Daley.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
What do you expect going in today?

Speaker 6 (12:08):
You know, there's one thing I like about John Daily.
He's a big man, and he likes a swing hard,
and I know he'll want to eat breakfast and eat
when we're done, and that's what I'm counting on today.

Heels on either side of the golfing out here today.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
That's right, And a lot of people are calling for me,
him and Bo to come up the eighteenth fairway shirtless,
and you may see that today. As a matter of fact,
some of the fans have already got into that mode,
as you saw in the last year their shirtless today.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
That's it. So there's something to look forward to at
the end of the day.

Adddition to a great amount of golf being played out here,
a bunch of big names coming. We're gonna have coverage

I'm like this, I keep forgetting when we go out
to this kind of thing for you who want you
want to be I want to be so professional, Rick,
I know, and that's just not who we are, and.

I battle it every day. I thought we got out
of that without bothering too many people. Oh, no question.

Speaker 8 (13:16):
But see that's the thing is, you got to understand
where I'm at on this. We hadn't even hit six
o'clock and this is going on. So I'm thinking, what's
the next four hours in look.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
And it got a little and we had and we
did have fun, and it was it was out there
and see here's the deal.

Speaker 8 (13:29):
Towards the end of it, when I know we're about
to leave, See then I started getting that mode. What
I tell you when you were on the course. That's
quite frankly, I think you're being too professional.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
I battle it. I battle at one point battle. Look,
I'm face down. I thought, I thought.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
So good.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I didn't know if you'd done that for that other
guy later. Really I wanted to I thought that could
have got ugly. But really, I'm really mad that you
were scared.

I'm mad Bubba and I went shirtless to a shot
one time to really upset somebody, and he was happen
to be there yesterday.

Speaker 7 (14:05):
If we could hit him again, I was this close.

Well, we've done a lot to repair that, right right, Sure,
still didn't.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Like I was gonna say, I don't think you. I
don't think it's prepared.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Well on our end where we've moved. Yeah, I think
it's still a little bit of a stickler over there.
But the But one of the things that that we
were talking about when we were out there, you were
talking about the various things, and I was telling Bubba
this before we started the show today because he was
not aware of it, and that is that you know
that Speedy had a Dan Mullen episode again.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Oh stop, well, I mean, what's wrong with you? I
saw what was going on. I didn't hear all the
setup because I knew Bo was there and Dan coach
Mullen came in later, and I didn't know what all
was going on behind the scenes.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I guess when when When when Speedy started saying, I
cannot believe it's happening again.

Speaker 8 (14:54):
I will make the argument that it was worse. And
here's why. Oh my goodness, here's why, because it last
did so.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Long, it was different situations, so mad, but still uncomfortable
for him.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Well, he didn't try.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'm actually I told Angel I owe her one because
we had Bo. He was sitting down and then and
then Dan came in. Uh you know, I call him Dwann.
He texted me last night. Everything's fine. But but he
he came in and in the middle of the bow
segment because he was teeing off and that was the
only chance we got we could get him understood.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
But so I set him down right beside you.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
But I was for a long time, but he was forever.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
He was so close you should have smelled him. Okay,
I mean that's how it was. I didn't know who
it was.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Speedy, Greg and I were watching.

Speaker 8 (15:45):
We were pleasantly having Oh, I know, it's joyful time
this unfold. And I turned to Greg and I said,
Rick has no idea that he.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Put it in front of speedy.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
I am a person who rug was paying attention, and
if I start looking around, there's no telling.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
I thought I thought there was a touch of you
doing it on purpose.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
No. Well, now I will say this, and I did
not know it was there. Once I knew it was there,
I brought him in. You know, I'm like this and
this is just a problem with me, and it may
be one of the things that's not very like about me.
I do have a certain way I want things done,
and I don't like when people start saying or trying
to say, no, we're gonna do it this way. I'm like, no,
I'm gonna finish what I'm doing here, and then I
will feed this person in when I think it's appropriate.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
And so and so you said it best in your
news color that morning. You said you got a plan
and then you have what really happens.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Right.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Well, what I'm saying is this, and it seems to
always involve these same two things. On the you know,
we we had this happened on the opposite to bowl
the other way, where Bou came up at a time
that we already had something else going.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Whysic I believe one year.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
And everybody starts saying he's coming in right now, and
I'm like, no, no, that that we're in the middle
of another interview.

Speaker 8 (16:55):
The difference is you actually knew Bou was sitting there
this time.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
You didn't know. I did not, And when I saw him,
I thought I wove him. In part you did.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
Yeah, I don't think you feel like he was. I
don't think he should feel slotted and left. Fine, there
was a moment when you were wondering, Yes, I had
a I had a conversation on the driving range with
coach Kirby Smart and he, you know, at least Coach
Mullet got on the show, you know.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
So yeah, Kirby was like that, come, how came you
to have me on? I'm like, they never told us
you could be. Buba told him, Yeah, they didn't bring
you in.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
We said, we said we wanted him right, But what
happened was thank the nice guy.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
But hey, thank the Lord. I did notice that Coach
Mullen was there. But the part that is funny is
and if I tell me if I have this wrong.
So we start with Bow and of course you know
Bowl was there when he was supposed to do. He
was on, so you know it was all good. We
were having a great conversation, was do I have this right?
That when Mullan walked up and they said, well, they've

got Bowl on right now and they'll get to you
that he actually looked down and said, well, I guess
I can go to the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
That's exactly what happened.

Speaker 7 (17:58):
Happening again.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Well again, different situations, So let's don't cut speaking too much.

Speaker 7 (18:02):
Like he actually trashed him that one time, but this
wasn't like that.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Yeah, he couldn't help.

Speaker 7 (18:06):
This was out of his control, but it was still
as uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Well, the point you found you place, you fansed you.
You had nothing to do with it. But when you
work hard to repair something, yeah that's what and suddenly
somebody else may break it again, well taken break.

Speaker 6 (18:20):
See that's the situation I got into with the camera shot. Say,
I've worked behind the scenes things.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
I don't even know about it, and I'm not again, I.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Knew the two of these two right here. They had
a front row seat, and I knew it, and I
knew it, and I was just looking over at them
because we were in a terrible spot.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
Well, but guys, give something. When I noticed you was there,
I thought I wove him in like that was my point.
I think you noticed him a little earlier and you
were making me sweat. But I appreciate it. I noticed
him ninety seconds before I brought it around.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
For ricking bubba, ricking bubba.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Yeah right here. This is why.

Speaker 8 (19:01):
That's why sometimes something also I witness in the break
bove her Speedy's feeling.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
He did, He didn't know. I mean, I really did,
Really did I.

Speaker 7 (19:11):
Watched or anything?

Speaker 5 (19:12):
I've got playing one now? Oh, he asked me.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
He asked me if I caddied for him at last
year's Regions tradition.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
I ran all over that golf course from.

Speaker 12 (19:23):
Eighteen holes in three hours. I was his little boy,
and he don't remember it.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
It was Speedy.

Speaker 12 (19:30):
I need this, I need that. It's cart patted. The
cart can't get on the golf course running your butt
back and forth for three and a half hours and
he don't even remember.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
It was a clarification, like, didn't you caddy for me
last year?

Speaker 5 (19:43):
I remember you taking some picture speedy, But did you
caddy for me?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
He took.

Speaker 13 (19:51):
I was sweating, You're gonna be there to help again?

Speaker 5 (20:05):
The hunter buses got you?

Speaker 7 (20:07):
Remember?

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Well, yeah, I do remember, because I said, I remember.
I remembered you being there because you took some great
videos and pictures.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
And that's all I remembered.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
No, but I know I was saying that was evidence
of me.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Remember what about me running across the course and you
thought you needed a seven and it was a nine.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
I had to run back, well, run back, and I
remember that.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
I ran through mud puddles and again splashed all over
the place.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
That kind of goes with the job.

Speaker 7 (20:34):
Do you remember that now?

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (20:35):
I mean he had a smoke break one time, got
a little behind everybody.

Speaker 12 (20:43):
You You won't believe what he asked me.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
Asked me if I caddied for him at last year's
reagion like that?

Speaker 6 (20:50):
I said, didn't you caddy?

Speaker 5 (20:53):
Because I remember I went to the rest of party,
came back.

Speaker 8 (20:58):
Tell me exactly what was was laying sitting laying on
the couch. He looked comfy, and I thought, I thought, well,
I'm gonna grab a chair and joined Bubba.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
He looks relaxed.

Speaker 8 (21:08):
This looks like a good time for one arm up,
gig back and hang out. And so we had gotten comfortable.
Really wasn't even saying a whole lot. Bubba's asked me
a couple of questions here or there, and then Speedy
walked in and that's when he.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Asked, and what was the exact question?

Speaker 7 (21:20):
How was it?

Speaker 8 (21:22):
He said, I know you took some pictures last year
