Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Speedy, and this is Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits,
flashing back through 31 years of radio gold every Saturday morning,
wherever you get your podcasts. It's Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Well, we've talked about this a lot. You know, the
boys are actually the sons that still live at home.
They're coming back home tonight for fall break where they
both go to college. So they'll be making their way
back in. But, you know, when they're off to college,
you know, and we've all talked about this. We know
these things as dads and husbands, is that, you know, anytime,
(00:39):
and we've talked about this, anytime your children beg, you know,
they do it right. They beg mom and then mom
influences dad to do things that the parents don't want
to do. And, of course, that usually involves pets. And
as we all know, when pets finally lose their puppiness,
they then become the responsibility of the parents. So remember,
whatever pet your kid picks out, be involved because it
(01:02):
will be yours, especially when they go off to college.
So I've kind of taken the wrangling duties of Buddy,
the wonder dog, and little Buddy, he's nothing but a
glorified stuffed animal. That's all he is. And he's a
good dog. He tries not to be troublesome.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
But yesterday— Do you loan Buddy out for visits?
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Buddy for hire.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I would be happy to.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I told you the time that we messed up. Buddy
got out and decided just to go rogue. Every blue
moon he goes rogue. And there's no rhyme or reason
to it. Now, yesterday we had a reason, and I
got to the bottom of it. And what I mean
by going rogue, Buddy the Wonder Dog's normal routine is,
look at me, I'm out here on the screened-in porch,
and I lay on my little place, and I love it,
(01:51):
and I sleep, and there's a crate there if it
needs to be crated, and that's where he eats. gets
his food and his water and then if we want
to let him in he comes in there's a place
he can get over there by the television and stay
down and every room he has a place where he
knows he's supposed to go uh and so um so
normally this is the routine hey buddy you know i
see you're sleeping again uh that's pretty much all you
(02:13):
do and so then oh i'm up and i'm a
little bit excited this means somebody's gonna feed me i'm
gonna get a treat or something uh time to go
to the bathroom buddy and he'll go out and he'll
say okay let's go go to the bathroom And he'll
go out in the yard, he'll do his business, and
he'll come right back. But then there's these rare days,
yesterday being one of them, where for some reason he decides,
today I go rogue. And I'm just going to start
(02:34):
flying out of this backyard as hard as I can go.
And I'm going under the gate of the fence because
I'm small enough I can get under the gate, and
I'm gone. I don't know why he does it. Now,
yesterday I got to the bottom of it. But– Was
it the cool air he got excited? No, no, I
thought that might be. I mean, this time he went rogue.
I mean, instant rogue.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Instant rogue. So he took off, and usually even if
you call him, he'll come back. I'm calling. I'm doing everything. Now,
of course, he's done this when I'm 20 minutes from
a conference call. I need to be home. And I'm
the only one at the house. So, you know, my
first reaction is, may he find a good home.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
And, and, and, and we're done. And I, I'll go
as far in these moments when I'm frustrated, I'll go
as far as to think about the, or the sea.
Tasmo will have to act disappointed, but really won't be big.
Love will be disappointed. Probably as close to something real
as any of us would be. But by the time
he goes back from fall break, he's probably over it. And,
(03:41):
and now the dog is living with somebody else, you
know what I mean? And I'm, and I'm done with this.
So I've had those kinds of crazy thoughts. And, um,
But I know that the boys are coming home, and
I know he loves the boys, and my wife will
want the boys to see their dog for the five
to ten minutes they'll care about it. And so I
know this is not the time to go into that plan.
(04:03):
There was a time when one of our seniors in
the neighborhood found him, and he and that woman were
living happily ever after, and they were meant for each other.
And why we took him back away from her is
still beyond me. That was a win-win for everybody. And
so then I try what I hope. Cause I'm old
and you know, I don't want to go all the
way down to the bottom of the yard, go out
(04:24):
of the gate and go into the neighborhood. I don't
want to do that. I want him to just come back.
I don't want to kind of put that kind of
effort into it. So finally I see some little kids
playing across the street and I see the little girl
and I'm trying not to be the creepy neighbor. You know,
mom says, don't talk to strangers. They moved in not
(04:45):
long ago and they actually have some of the, the
play stuff we used to have in the backyard and
we just donated to them for their kids. So we, we,
you know, we know who they are. And I said, Hey,
can you, can I ask you something? Now I've had
to walk down to the end of the yard. Now
I'm at the, I'm at the gate, uh, you know,
the fence. And I said, is my crazy dog in
your backyard? And she goes, yes. And I said, can
(05:10):
you go get him?
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
And she goes back there for a while, but she
never comes back. And in a minute, She comes out again.
I said, yeah, but the dog. He's back here trying
to get our chickens. And I'm like, oh, gosh. So
now I've got to go out of the gate.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
He's a chicken wrangler, huh?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
So when I round the corner in the backyard, now
I'm the weird guy in everybody's yard.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Right.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Not my yard.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Not my yard.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
You know, the conference call. All the different kids are
showing up at different times, getting off various buses. The
last thing your parents want is to pull up in
a strange bearded mansion in your yard as your kids
get off the school bus. I'm sorry, that's creepy.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Nobody wants to see that.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
So I round the corner and there's a chicken coop.
So he can't get to the chickens. But he's completely
lost his mind. I'm talking about he's not aware of
anything outside the world of these chickens inside this coop,
and he is circling it, chasing the chickens to various
corners of this coop, and he's completely lost his mind.
(06:11):
I mean, he's glossed over. He doesn't even know.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
He's back to his spine.
Speaker 7 (06:15):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
He's a wolf.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
In his mind, he is part of his canine ancestors,
and he's gone from a glorified stuffed animal to a
chicken killer.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
And I mean, he just, he's almost, and I'm thinking,
how delusional are you right now? These chickens could probably
kill you.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
You know what I mean? I mean, if they got out,
they would probably peck you on the head and you'd
run for your life. Nobody's buying this presentation you have
of the great chicken killer. So I holler at him.
He doesn't respond. I mean, he's completely glazed over.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Give me that holler.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
What do you sound?
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Buddy!
Speaker 3 (06:47):
That's what I normally do.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
That's what it is?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Okay, with the slap?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Clap? Yeah, and so, and normally that is the end
of it. But not now because he's glossed over. Have
you ever seen him at that level?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
No.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
It was like a chicken addict.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Are you also trying to control yourself in front of
the kids to where you don't?
Speaker 5 (07:03):
I am.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Trying to stay calm.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
But Buddy ain't big enough to eat a chicken.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
No.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
The chicken might hurt him.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
This whole thing is delusional on Buddy's part. He's living
a dream. He can't pull this off. He's not the
chicken dog. I finally have to go over and just
As he comes around for like lap 100, you know
what I mean? Because it's been a while since he's
been over there doing this. I just grab him up.
And when I grab him up, his tongue is sticking out.
He's like. And he was almost like, did you see that?
(07:34):
And I was like, hey, man, nobody's impressed by this.
You're acting like an idiot. And then I think he
can understand me.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
You know, like that.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
He's just.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
And I'm like, no, no, no. You're going back. This
is not good for you. This is a bad dog.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Very bad.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
And now I realize if these people are going to
have these chickens, every few times when he goes out,
he's going to dash over those chickens. Oh, yeah. That's
going to become my norm now. And you know what
I don't like is hassling with a dog. So I've
got to go grab the dog out from the chickens
every time he comes out to go to the bathroom now.
(08:14):
So now I've got to come up with some way
to do something about this gate.
Speaker 8 (08:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
You can't even have a.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Can't have a backyard.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
You can't even have a low-hassle dog. Now he thinks
he's the great chicken dog. I wish you'd seen when
I set him down. I'm like.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Did somebody feed him chicken and get him fired up
about it?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Some instinct clicked on him. He heard him. He likes
chicken like you, Greg. He heard that and, buddy.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
But he was gone.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
That was it. It's more like this. Because I was like,
where are your chickens? He was like shot. He looked
like a little hairy cannonball. Knew where he was going.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
And he's put the weight on. He's just getting older,
so he can't hang. He can't do this. I get him.
He's coughing. He can't even believe what he's done. He
don't have this. You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (09:01):
He can't.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Oh, he was.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
I was like, see?
Speaker 3 (09:04):
This is what you get. He's learning now, though.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
He's out of breath.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
You're too old for this.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
He dreamed about them chickens last night. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
You don't have the cardio for this.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
And I said, in a minute, all I got to
do is produce a dog bone, and you'll completely forget
about chickens. This is not impressive. Oh, what do you
got over there? A milk bone. And see, you're already
off the chicken. Get your breath and get back on
your place.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Curb Street, our intern, has put someone on hold, and
it just simply says, Crystal, first time to ever call
the show, stuck in Atlanta traffic.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Oh, bless her.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
And for some reason, I just kind of want to
show mercy and take that call, because maybe... She's like,
I got to do something. Crystal, are you okay?
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Yes, I'm all right.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I'm just trying to make up some side work, really,
pay my bills. So you called and you're stuck in
Atlanta traffic? Yeah, I was listening to the radio. and
I heard you guys try to call someone else, and
they didn't answer. So I figured I'd try to get
you on the phone.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I've actually never had a radio station answer me, so.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
This is kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Okay. So you've been calling various shows.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Crystal, what station are you listening at?
Speaker 3 (10:18):
This is my good. It's 107.9.
Speaker 9 (10:22):
It's one of my favorite, actually.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
So 107.9 in the Atlanta area?
Speaker 6 (10:30):
Yes, sir.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Okay, so do you listen to that station every day?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
I do.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
And what show is on that station? It's the Rick
and Bobby show. Rick and Bobby show or Rick and
Bubba show?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Rick and Bubba show.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
That's right. That's right.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Okay. So.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
How did you get our phone number?
Speaker 8 (10:53):
Actually, I had it in my phone.
Speaker 9 (10:55):
I just heard the 869 Rick and Bubba, and I
put the 869 in my.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Phone, and the rest of it came up.
Speaker 7 (11:04):
So I called it.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
869 Rick and Bubba. I'm afraid if that's the number
you've dialed, we are experiencing a telephone miracle.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
And you're driving?
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
So where are you headed to work, Crystal?
Speaker 7 (11:21):
I'm actually going to a paint job, like construction.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
You know. So are you a painter? Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 7 (11:29):
I'm a little more than just a painter.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
So tell us what made you.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
What are you, an interior designer or something?
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Remodeling, like key turn.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
I can go in and demo.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Could have used you this week.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
From demo to finish.
Speaker 7 (11:44):
But my specialty is sheetrock, mud, and I got a
skim coat like no other.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Wow. How about that?
Speaker 3 (11:51):
How about that?
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Now, what's your secret, Crystal? How do you do it
so well?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
It is a gift.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Thank you, Bubba.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
It is. Really, it's just art.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
It's like the wall.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Of my canvas.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
So do you go with a smooth look or do
you go with more of a textured look?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Depends on the project.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Hands on what the boss calls for.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
I understood. You look bro-kay. What's that, Greg?
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Bro-kay.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Bro-kay? What is that? Is that a style?
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Crystal, do you use the trowel?
Speaker 4 (12:21):
I mean, do you actually do the finish, or do
you just command someone else to do it?
Speaker 6 (12:26):
Oh, no.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
I actually do it.
Speaker 10 (12:27):
I'm a laborer.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Hands on.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I'm only 25, man.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
I haven't gotten that far yet.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I understood.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Okay, so how long have you lived in Atlanta?
Speaker 1 (12:36):
On and off since I was about 15.
Speaker 10 (12:38):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
I go back and forth to Florida. I've been here
for three years now. Oh, you go back and forth,
wherever the work is. How long have you listened to
the show?
Speaker 7 (12:53):
I actually go back and forth.
Speaker 8 (12:54):
I think it's the sister channel, the 979 and 107.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
10.79.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Okay, yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I know. Yeah, I got you. I know what you're
talking about.
Speaker 9 (13:08):
I prefer playing the two of them because you guys
play a lot of, like, the 90s.
Speaker 7 (13:16):
2000s hip-hop rap.
Speaker 8 (13:18):
That's my culture.
Speaker 10 (13:19):
That's where, you know, that's the songs I know.
Speaker 7 (13:21):
Some of that old school rap.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
And I just, you know, I can get down every morning.
Speaker 9 (13:27):
I know what channel.
Speaker 10 (13:28):
To put on if I just want to, like, Be
bop around.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
That's it. Most people listen to the show.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
That's what they're looking for.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Let's give her something.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
You know.
Speaker 9 (13:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Crystal, if you heard this one right here, this is
one of our favorites.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yeah, this is a good one here.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Let's see if you like this one.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
Here we go, Crystal.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
You ready?
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Vote Trump.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Hey, come on.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
Yeah, baby, vote Trump.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Trump. Trump. Trump.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Have you ever heard that one?
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I'm not sure that I have or not. That's from
an artist called Little P.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
Well, you could really paint with that. Yeah, you could.
Put that finish on it.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
Hey, man.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Well, Crystal, thank you for calling us, and I hope
everything at the job site goes well today, and hopefully
we can help you get through this traffic.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
A little bit.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
All right.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
Yeah, you guys did.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
I'm actually about to show up. All right, well, good.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Get after it today.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Get after it today, Crystal.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Have a good one, Crystal.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Go in there and make it happen. All right.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
Thanks, guys.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Thank you, Crystal.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Be well ventilated around that paint.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
When do I call to win something?
Speaker 3 (14:37):
What's up? You just have to wait until that time.
I'll tell you what you could do. Do you have
any interest in going to the Alabama LSU game this weekend?
I just drove through Alabama yesterday.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Did you really?
Speaker 3 (14:49):
It's taking a while. Yeah, I stopped at.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
The casino and burned a hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
So you're listening to Hot 107.9 right now?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
This is a very interesting situation. I say call back anytime.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Crystal, thank you very much for calling.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Hey, baby, call back.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Bye, guys.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
Thanks, Crystal.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
How dare you?
Speaker 3 (15:25):
I don't know how that's possible. Guys, anybody want to
take this?
Speaker 5 (15:30):
I can tell you this. She's not listening to us.
Speaker 6 (15:33):
No.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
And the stations that she mentioned, there is currently a
Rick and Sasha station.
Speaker 8 (15:40):
In the morning.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
There it is.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
And then I think the Ricky Smiley show. So she's
got the Rick part right.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
I think she and Rick and Bubba just came up.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
But how did she get this number?
Speaker 5 (15:50):
That's the key.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
I gave you that.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
And how did she call this show and think she's
listening to it in traffic?
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Right.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
That I can't help you with.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Bubba goes by Sasha sometimes.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Yeah, just on the weekends.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
But.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
You know, I'm looking here at the Georgia stations, and
the frequency she's giving me, I can't put it together.
I couldn't make it fit.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
I think she was trying to type in Rick and Sasha,
and she was tying it.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
It came up. She could have done that. That's very good, Greg.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
She could have.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Because it's definitely not us.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
There's Bubba there.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Look.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
There he is. Bubba, look at you right there.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Now, if she's listening to 107.9, then it's the smiley.
Speaker 7 (16:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Well, we got, what, one, two, three, what, seven, eight
stations in Georgia, but I can't seem to make any
of them work.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
No.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
I thought about the big dog at one point.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
Yeah, I did, too. I thought it might be.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
This time of year, though, you do get some strange
skips on the FM band, so get some ducking going
on the color.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Be careful.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Different layers of air, different temperatures. It gets in there
like a pipe.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Hey, stand by.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
He's got a NASA gun on him.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Trying to show off.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
And he's got a little black gun.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
That and Steve Jobs.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
He's got it going on.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Or the Thernos lady that got sued. She always wears
the black. Bubba wore the one if Steve Jobs' hands
are cold.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Has the warmer.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
All right.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Well, that was weird.
Speaker 9 (17:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
All righty.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Weird, but I enjoyed it. It's kind of strange.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Top of the hour. We'll be back. The number's 866-WEBEBIG.
Our website, Rick and Bubba. Spell out the word and.com.
Go there for all the information about the Rick and
Bubba show and then some.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Rick and Bubba. Rick and Bubba. Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 5 (17:53):
Proving daily that common sense is a superpower. American heroes,
Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Six minutes past the hour.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Speedy, the real Greg Burgess, Helmsy, Eddie Van Adler, all
here for another hour.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
And we thank you for being with us. Much to
do going forward. Rick and Bubba University, Frank the Tank,
and Whipper on the Roof. Welcome back, Bill Bubba Busch.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Glad to be here, Rick, and thank all of you
for giving us this outstanding opportunity.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
When you told me that Cookie Monster, back to things
that influenced us as raising small children, that are forever
ingrained in your.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Being, the.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
You know, that's because I thought the point I was
making is we talk about, you know, everything you're doing
when your kids, when they're little bitty is important because
it will impact them. They do start developing, you know,
at this age, you know, and some of that is,
is important how we do everything because of the development.
And I realized, well, Hey, not only are we trying
to impact them, they are impacting, they're developing things that
(19:09):
will be.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Stuck with the rest of our lives. So, uh, so anyway, uh,
all the pets they left behind.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Oh my goodness. Uh, but the, um, pet world uh
but so the uh hey what about the dog uh
so we're going to uh hey we didn't do this
what about those hey we're gonna do yeah let's do
that but what about the dog uh hey we got
this and this and hey i'm gonna be i got
this today hey is anybody what about the dog all
right somebody's got to go behind the dog what we're
gonna do with the dog what's this dog that dog
(19:36):
uh but anyway so um uh cookie monster saying take
me out to the ball game for the cubs Is
that correct?
Speaker 5 (19:45):
I believe that is correct.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Okay, so you said to hear it was one thing.
but to see it is different?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, Thursday was a big day for the Chicago Cubs
because they had Cookie Monster do the seventh inning stretch, and...
The shot of Cookie Monster is, of course, from the
chest up. He's sitting behind the anchor desk there. He
has no legs, Speedy. No, he doesn't. He's holding the microphone,
which is awesome. And he talks a little bit before
(20:14):
he sings, so enjoy this. This is good stuff. I
go nuts on some cookies.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Oh, the fans!
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Today, C is for Cubbies.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah. All right.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
Let me hear you, Gary. A one, a two, a three.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Take me out to the ballgame.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Take me out to the crowd.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Me not caring.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Me not caring.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Look at Powell.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
I don't know what to do. If they don't win,
it's a shame.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
For it's one, two, three.
Speaker 7 (21:15):
Uh-oh.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Had a few. Hope.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
It wasn't a special day, was it? I thought Cookie Monster,
I've heard much worse than that.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Y'all missed it there. He said, now let's get you
some cookies.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
It's funny to see just, you know, a blue puppet
up there where everybody sings from holding a microphone.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Well, the beauty of the Muppet design is that the
ones that they do, that the hands operate, it's two
people working the same puppet.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
So their hands can do all this. And now, is
that still Frank Oz, I guess, doing that? Surely he's
out of the business. You think he is? My goodness, Rick.
He's been around for a while.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
We were little kids.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Yeah, so I don't know if it's still him or not,
but it sounded like how Cookie Monster's always sounded. They
got a good sound to like.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
If it's not.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
They did. Oh, he was dead on.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Right after that, Craig Kimbrell made his debut with the
Cubs and got his first– In his first appearance, got
a save. They won 9-7, so it was a good
day for him.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
So who was this guy? Craig Kimbrell. Used to pitch
for the Braves. Yeah, used to pitch for the Braves.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
He's an Alabama boy.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
He's from this state.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
And there was a big discussion on where he would go.
He went to the Cubs and in his first appearance
helped the team out.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
Now, I think Cookie Monster did a phenomenal job, and
I enjoyed watching that. But this morning, this morning I
walked in to Speedy just playing it and just hearing it,
not knowing it's Cookie Monster, and it was awful.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
But I enjoyed that. That brought joy to me.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I wanted him to see him go nuts at the
end of it.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
He just destroys the whole box.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Yeah, throwing cookies everywhere. He's a violent cookie.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
And his color blue is kind of Cubs blue.
Speaker 7 (22:51):
It is.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
That's a good shot.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
Cubbies.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
The Cubbies. But we've heard some, Ozzie. We've heard some
that were absolutely terrible. Jeff Gordon was bad. I will
say that Cookie Monster, really, if you look at the
group of people, there are celebrities that have sang it,
(23:14):
not people who can really sing.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I think he held his own.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Yeah. He brought it, for sure.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
He did.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
He may have been one of the better ones.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Really. Can you imagine– so here's how– let's get in
the real world because for a minute I do– that's
why they're good at what they do. For a minute
I thought Cookie Monster was his own thing.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
So what we have are people. So we got somebody
that's got to concentrate on doing the hands so I
can hold the mic.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
And whomever's doing the voice of Cookie Monsters now, I
know Frank Oz was the guy, the same one who
did Miss Piggy and all that, was the one who
did it and also did Star Wars, what's the little, Yoda.
But anyway, so whomever's doing it, they've got a microphone themselves.
So I got, the puppet's microphone was just a prop.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
Yeah, but it's funny.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Yeah, so he's down here, but he's now doing the mouth.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
You gotta do a lot of this.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
And having to sing into the microphone. They probably had
him mocked. I bet they had him mine. That'd probably
be easier for your puppet guy because that's what they do.
Speaker 6 (24:12):
Headset.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
But how, you know, you wonder, how is he sitting
under there? How do you stay comfortable? I mean, if
you're in a bind, that would be hard to do
and sing.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Right. That's why he's a professional puppeteer. You know how
there's certain things that your mind sees them. It's like
it's so taken back by what it's seen.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
You can't quite grab it. Have you ever just seen
one of those deals where they'll just let you see
the people? and they're running around with those Muppets all
up in here, and they're running.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
Oh, I know.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
If you ever can see the people in the pub
at the same time, you don't know where to look.
I mean, it really kind of blows your mind. What
about when they show the guy inside of Big Bird
and how he's– Oh, no. Have you ever seen that documentary?
There's a Big Bird documentary.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
That's weird.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
I've never seen that. Because this guy who did Big
Bird the longest, I mean, like for a long time,
when you look and he's just walking around at whatever
they're shooting– whether it be Sesame Street or a movie,
you know, these movies they did.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Follow that bird.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Yes, Greg, when he's on the set. Greg, I want
you to picture. He's on the set, and he has. Oh, really?
Speaker 1 (25:11):
I didn't realize that's how it's done.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Yeah, look, he has the legs always on because they
just set the body over him.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
But he's sitting there, like, getting a drink, like, talking
to people, and he's got those bird legs on. That's
pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
I didn't know he had his.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Does his arm not fall asleep?
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Get up and show us how you were in sleep.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
I mean, his arms look like it'd go numb up there.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah, you'd be talking doing this, right?
Speaker 5 (25:35):
You think they could have that electronic?
Speaker 4 (25:37):
He could be doing it down here somewhere.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
That's selling out.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Which character from our show would we send to go sing?
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Puppeteering by wire.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Could any of our characters sing this?
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Oh, you're talking about things that we make up?
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I'd like to see Confused American take a run at it.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Rick, you got the shirt on.
Speaker 5 (25:55):
I would love to see.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
That.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
There he is, Rick.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Look.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
All you have to do is sing the first line.
See him standing there with the legs on?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Who's Santa Claus beside him?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I do not know.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
I do not know.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
That's the handler.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Look at the mics and everything strapped to him and
all the stuff they got to do. Look, being Big
Bird's not easy.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
No, it's not.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
Hey, you think that's bad?
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Try being Snuffleupagus.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
On all fours.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
I never really understood that kid.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
I didn't either.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
He sounded like he was talking through a tube off
a vacuum cleaner.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I hear you, weak voice.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
What about when the Muppets, and what about when the Muppets,
they'd have those, and I guess in the big bird genre,
you know, do you remember those big old things that
come out and had the big giant mouth and they're
big furry monsters?
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Those things were huge.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Do you remember that? And they'd come out and they'd
have the big mouth going.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
And then what I didn't get is why they weren't
always committed to to the same presentation. You know, some
of theirs, their hands could handle things, some of them
they couldn't. You know, some of those did the sticks,
like Kermit and all that, you know?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
I know.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
It's interesting. But I'm the kind of person that's very
sensitive when a voice changes. I don't think Kermit sounds
like Jim Henson anymore.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
I can tell.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Mel Blanc's son, I'm sorry, not as good as Mel Blanc.
I can pick up when the Looney Tunes now.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
You could tell even when we were kids when they
would change the voice out.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
At a time.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
They're snuffle up with us.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
There he is.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Now we're going to be tough.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Uh-uh.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Are you serious?
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Oh, my gracious. No, uh-uh. Wow, the view if you're
behind is tough.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Bubba Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Grab that. Now, in the break, in the kitchen, you know,
somebody asked what characters could sing Take Me Out to
the Ballgame. Bubba was giving us a pretty good Bernie Sanders.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
I'm working on it.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Yeah, in there. I need to work on it.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
It was good.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Yeah, I mean, there's a couple in there that I
thought it's got potential.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Especially your commentary on tickets and all that. You've got to.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Work that in.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I like that. Can you give us just a little
bit of that?
Speaker 9 (27:53):
Take me up to the ball game. These tickets are
way too high. These tickets should be free. They are
in Canada.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
They are in Canada.
Speaker 9 (28:06):
Buy me some in the Cracker Jacks.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
Buy Cracker Jacks.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
They're $ 40.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
They should be free. What the hell?
Speaker 5 (28:17):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
That's good.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Look, every.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Every time since what he said last night, always reference Canada.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
North of the border.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
You can go to a baseball game for six bucks.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
And they won the World Series anyway. Oh, that's funny. Yeah,
so that might be a little sad. I mean, if
you're letting people come sing.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Yeah, I'm just thinking about the character of the show.
Speaker 9 (28:47):
Take me out to the ball game.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Take me out. They use bats in this baseball, don't they?
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Mmm, I love bats.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
And we want the home team to go nuts.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
That's shot potential, y'all.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
That really does.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Glover Slugger, I love him. What if Tim Tebow was.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
To do it, Greg?
Speaker 3 (29:16):
He's playing.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
He can't sing.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Wouldn't he say it's the greatest version ever?
Speaker 5 (29:21):
I've got to work on mine.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
I'm not confident in it. Well, Greg, one time you
were all about it. Yeah, I'm just not confident.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
All right, here.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Wait a minute.
Speaker 5 (29:27):
Hang on. Well, you're not.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Greg, our impressions are never perfect.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
This is the, you know, like for the group sing,
they give you the pipe. What do they call that thing?
I want to call it a peace pipe. I know
that ain't the name. What do you call that thing?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
The little tone?
Speaker 3 (29:40):
What is that thing called?
Speaker 5 (29:41):
It's got a name. What is it, Adam?
Speaker 3 (29:43):
It gives you the key we're singing in. What's that
thing called?
Speaker 5 (29:46):
I don't think he's in there.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Does anybody know what it's called? He's from some musical.
Something pot. All right, Greg, you're listening right here.
Speaker 7 (29:52):
Hey, this is Tim Tebow, and you're listening to Rick
and Bubba Show. Just two amazing guys.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
That did help, didn't it? Rick and Bubba Show.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Because, you know, he doesn't finish.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
He runs out of air.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Oh, you got a weak voice.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Hey, this is Tim Tebow, and you're listening to Rick
and Bubba Show. Just two amazing guys.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Two amazing guys.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Rick and Bubba Show.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
So if you were going to sing the Take Me
Out to the Ball Game, what would you sing? I
don't know. Greg, you've got to tell them it's going.
Speaker 5 (30:15):
To be the best.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Come on, Greg, let's hear it.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
That's it.
Speaker 7 (30:18):
Hey, this is Tim Tebow, and you're listening to Rick
and Bubba Show. They're two amazing guys.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
It does help a little bit. Do it, Greg. There's
so many we can do.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Oh, man, Greg.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
Oh, I'd like to know if Nopi was okay and
could do it.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Oh, yeah, he would.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Nopi could sing it. Maybe he could call in. Hey,
I mean, I could sing it.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Pitch pop, by the way.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Hey, that's it, pitch pop. Hey, I coached baseball, you know,
in Clanton down there for years. You can't have nothing.
You can't even have a win with the Cubs. You
just thought you could have something.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Sing it, Gary.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Take me out. Hey, take me out to the ball
game and buy me some. Hey, I mean, Al Rio
bought me Cracker Jacks. I didn't even have to buy them. So, Nopi?
Speaker 8 (31:09):
This is Nopi.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Nopi, where are you at?
Speaker 2 (31:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
You're lost, right?
Speaker 6 (31:19):
Yeah, somebody told me, Paul.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Yeah, we were wondering if you could sing Take Me
Out to the Ballgame.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Take.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
Me out to the ball game.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Just take me anywhere.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
I'm all by myself.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
Right, right.
Speaker 9 (31:36):
All you people here, all you friends and family watching game,
I'm by myself.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Take me. Take me.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
Take me.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
You missed it.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
Speedy, you missed it. No, pick off.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
I always miss him calling.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
You always miss him calling. He just said, look, don't
take me out of the bus. Just take me anywhere.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
I'm lost.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
Well, poor kid.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Just when I thought.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
What is this?
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Okay, hang on just a minute.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Let's see.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Jim, from listening online or listening to the tune-in app,
go ahead.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
Yeah, you've got to.
Speaker 7 (32:16):
Do Car Wash Joe singing the.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Cracker Jack song.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
Hey!
Speaker 5 (32:21):
The Cracker Jack song? Oh, it's got Cracker Jacks in it.
I just want to say.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
Go Cubbies.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Somebody get out there on the marquee. Cubbies number one.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
Y'all sing it with me after, and then we're going
to shut it down.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Hey. Hey.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
Run it out of breath.
Speaker 10 (32:51):
Somebody bring me some cracker jack.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
It's Rick Burgess, sir.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
Tell anybody not to give me some cracker jack.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Shut her down.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Shut her down.
Speaker 5 (33:05):
Go ahead and shut her down. Has Dickie done it?
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Well, I mean, I ain't singing for nobody but the Tide.
I don't give a real Tide about the cubbies. I
sing for Saban, I sing for the Tide, and I
sing in honor of the Bear Bright and Gene Stallings.
I don't sing for nobody else. Don't sing for Shula.
I do not sing for that guy that came in
(33:31):
and went to the strip club, Mikey Price. His last
name had a lot to say, didn't it? What's the price?
Speaker 5 (33:39):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
So this is Dickie talking to Wrigley, huh?
Speaker 3 (33:42):
That's what you would say? It's me saying welcome. If
the Cubs would hire Saban, you'd win more than you have.
You wouldn't have gone so long without a championship. He'd
have had a championship here at Wrigley in multiples. You
won one, well, we've got to wait another 200 years
for the next one. You get Saban as the manager
of this club, and I might come up here and sing,
(34:03):
and you might win some ballgames. Y'all, thanks for being
with us. Somebody give me some Cracker Jack.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Rotate.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Oh, it's Miss Piggy.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
Sing the peanut song.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
He referred.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
He did.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
He's the only guy in the world.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Y'all realize the title of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Miss Piggy!
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Somebody said, was it Ed Argeron or was it Cookie Buster?
That's pretty good. Ed Argeron. Bottom of the hour. More
of the Rick and Bubba show coming up next.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
I don't know how to break this to everybody. If
you do not vet your, it's not immoral, it's not
evil to vet a border when people are coming to
your country so you know whether they're sick. You know
whether they're terrorists. You know, fill in the blank. And
that's not a moral thing to do. So if we're
going to have a discussion on, hey, where in the
world did measles come from? How's that back in here?
Speaker 6 (35:15):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (35:17):
I mean, then we're going to also have to say,
I tell you what also has to be to come
to the table is, people are coming in for who
knows where. I mean, that could possibly be it.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
It could, right.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
You know, we're worried about our own citizens not being vaccinated.
What about people coming here that we know are not
vaccinated from who knows where? They could be coming from
Measles City, USA. Hey, the measles are back! Somebody got
polo too. You know, and you're just like, I tell you.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
What, where'd the hooping call come from? There's people hooping.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
I tell you where it came from. It could be
that we'd let people come in here from who we
don't know where they came from. And they're not vetted out.
Couldn't that be part of it? This doesn't sound complicated
to me.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
Rick, do you know too?
Speaker 3 (36:03):
We need to let them in. They might get us sick. Well,
we never thought of that. But they ought to be
able to come in here, by golly. Well, then don't
complain when you got.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
The whooping cough.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
They're here.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Cough away.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
You know what's also disturbing about this?
Speaker 3 (36:24):
I tell you, it's probably Jenny McCarthy.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
No, it could be that!
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Do you realize in the year 2000 they declared measles
dead in this country? There were no cases.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Completely eradicated. I wonder how it came back.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
What the H happened?
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Are you from border control? No, I think people are
going to come in wherever they want. Who are we
to deny them? Why are you being evil? Where did
the whooping cough come from? I came back. Let me
say this. Oh, this is good. And I'm going to
calm down here because I don't need to do a
heart attack.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Give me a confused drink. Give me a confused drink.
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (37:07):
Your eyes, wouldn't you do that?
Speaker 1 (37:08):
That confused drink.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Bubba has said, too, the new glasses have made my
eyes bigger.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
When you open your eyes, it amplifies them even more.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Yeah, listen.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
And you don't open them much. Confused drink.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
But anyway, so.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
Say what the H one more time.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
What the H is going on?
Speaker 5 (37:27):
You got to have your shoulders up.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (37:30):
I would explode if I had Speedy playing the tuba
and him doing this at the same time. Hey, love wins.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Love wins.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
I don't want to live.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
In a country of wolves. All right, so. But let's
go back to this again. If you believe, this is it.
This will solve it.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
This is it.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
If you believe that your own citizens. that have stopped
vaccinating their kids contributed to this, then you have to
believe the border contributes as well. You can't have both. No,
it's absolutely both. You can't say I'm anti my own citizens,
but I'm fine with these people.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
You can't do that.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
If you want to be consistent, say I don't like
these people not vaccinating their kids, and I don't like
there's people coming in here that we don't know where
they're from. We think those two contribute. You can't pick
one or the other, but the liberal media will. But
the liberal media will say, I'll tell you what the
problem is. And these people probably go to Christian schools.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
And they probably homeschool. I got news for you. I'm
not afraid of those people like I am people coming
from who knows where.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
I'm not afraid of either. I'm just saying that. But
if you want to be concerned, you've got to be
concerned about that other situation, too. You can't have it
both ways.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
No, you can't.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
I'm going to ask Jenny McCarthy. It's probably her fault.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
No.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
I mean.
Speaker 5 (38:46):
Looks like a completely different person.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
I know, I know. Where'd the hoop and golf come from?
Speaker 5 (38:53):
And then once you start, it's hard to stop.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Well, I'm just, that feels good.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Does it help?
Speaker 3 (39:00):
It does help. You're talking about Confused American.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
That's one of my favorites.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
That's what I'm going with. That's Confused American. Have we
really gotten that stupid?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Yes, yes. I mean, that's just a trick from this
point forward. For the night before Christmas.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
Yeah, well, he was on there last year.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
Christmas?
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Where'd that come from? What's the night? Anytime we have
a question like that, we're going to call in Confused
America and see what he thinks about it.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
Greg!
Speaker 1 (39:26):
The dang measles are back!
Speaker 3 (39:31):
They said somebody at Fort Payne made a chicken sandwich!
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Where'd they come from?
Speaker 3 (39:39):
What's Jenny McCarthy doing at Fort Payne? And her unvaccinated kids!
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Rick, be in the left lane driving slow and about
20 cars behind you and you don't know why they're
behind you.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
What's all these people doing coming up on my bumper?
Speaker 9 (39:56):
I'm doing 48.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Trying to keep it in between the lanes. There's a
lot of space to my right. What's it for?
Speaker 5 (40:06):
What's it for?
Speaker 9 (40:08):
What are these two lanes?
Speaker 5 (40:11):
Oh, gosh.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Oh, goodness.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Don't pass out, big guy.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
What if Beth Mullen... What an embarrassment.
Speaker 9 (40:18):
What if Beth Mullen.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
What if Confused American want to know why... Somebody's got
to get a timeout.
Speaker 10 (40:25):
Can't make the game tonight, got measles. Not sure where
they came from. Probably that Jenny McCarthy. I'm wondering maybe
if that border has something to do with it, Greg.
We'll go down to Rocky. Rocky, you got measles?
Speaker 3 (40:44):
I know I said we'd take calls.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Stupid American. Confused American. Oh, yeah. Confused American.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
We'll be back. Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 5 (40:55):
All right, here we go, Rick.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
I'm in that mode right now. So tomorrow's programming note,
I will not be here. And I have, as we
have to do from time to time, we have things
we have to tend to involving the family. And when
you have a freshman that is moving into college and
is going to live in the dorm for the first year,
(41:18):
you don't have freedom of schedule. You operate on the
mandated schedule from the university. And I'm sure that's going
to be a party if any of these things from
past kids and students. What you do is you realize,
and this is one thing I've learned. My wife calls
it that I'm protecting little Rick Rick. She says that's
the little boy that still lives inside of me that
(41:39):
doesn't like to get his little feelings crushed. She says,
I watch you. You always go worst case scenario, preparing
for anything. I said, because that way, just like our
whole show, 25 years, we have undersold everything.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Which means you like the show because we really convince
you it's going to be such a horrific experience that
when you listen, you go, that's not as bad as
I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (41:59):
Can we just delve into that for just a minute?
Every experience, every moment of the day, everything that happens
is either going to be looked at positively or negatively
or as a wash.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Right.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
I mean, you know.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
Right.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
So all that is based on how you expect it
to go.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Right.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
So what is wrong with lowering expectations so that everything
looks to be positive? See, that's a way that you
live positive, by lowering expectations.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
She says it's so interesting. Anytime you have a team
that you like, even if our kids play on the
team or whatever, every time we're going to the game,
we're going to watch the game, you tell me we're
going to get run out of the stadium. And I said, well, yeah,
I'm preparing myself for the worst-case situation. And for some reason,
I'm drawn to teams you can't depend on. They're not consistent.
You know what I mean? I mean, they're here to
break your heart.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
But that's how you become positive.
Speaker 6 (42:46):
Right.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
So, you know, we're moving the scale so we move
into the good area.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
There's nothing wrong with that. I think it's ingenious. I
told her, I said, if you watch me, I said,
I don't live my life as a Debbie Downer. Most
every day I'm in a, I really don't have many
days that I walk around in a bad mood. And
she goes, no, that's true. And I said, am I
not usually overly kind of joyful? Yeah, yeah, you are.
I said, but then when it comes to the world
(43:12):
of hassle, though, that's a different world. I'm not spiritually downtrodden.
And we shouldn't be. I haven't lost all hope or
anything like that. And I know what's important in the world.
I know what's not. I'm strictly dealing with the hassles
of life. And when it comes to the hassles of life,
the disappointments, the struggles of these little inconvenient things we
(43:33):
have to do, I always prepare myself for it being
a complete disaster. And, and I, and I said, so
I know tomorrow when I get up and we get
in these vehicles, you know, with, you know, and we, there's,
there's been a big debate going on and, and I'm really,
because these are sons.
Speaker 8 (43:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
All right. These are, these are males.
Speaker 5 (43:54):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
I understand all of you that go out there and Bubba,
I know that even Betty with a group would help.
with dorm rooms.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
And I know when females go to college, the dorm
room decoration and all that is extremely important. When a
male goes to college, it doesn't matter at all.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
No.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
It doesn't matter at all.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
Well, to the mom, it does.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Yeah, and so Sherry has got, she's gone to this
place where you can get stuff that fits in the
dorm rooms and it's great. I'm glad. That's a good
business plan. Good idea. Even the stuff Betty was doing,
that's all a good idea because people want to go
one place and that be handled. That's a great idea. But,
But when we have this shelving that fits over the
back of the bed that gives them some shelves to
(44:33):
put things on, I recall you've already taken this last
year to the freshman we had last year that had
to live in the dorm. And I went to his
dorm room a few times over the year where we
were in town to see him or whatever. And I said,
when you set up that shelving and you put pictures
and stuff on it, He's never used it. I watched
(44:54):
him the entire year. He never put one thing on
those shelves, not one. And I said, and that thing
was a nightmare getting up there. It's just a nightmare.
Speaker 5 (45:03):
Rick, are you saying we didn't learn our lesson on this?
Speaker 3 (45:05):
And she goes, well, no, no, this thing works perfect
in the dorm room, and I want to put it
in Brody's dorm room too. I said, first of all,
this is a new university. And then Brody, now this
did help. I will say this. He said, Dad, I'm
on the first floor. I said, okay. I said, all right,
that's big. That's a win.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
Let me put that one down.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
That's a win. That's big. All right, I know that
I was preparing for tomorrow because this is at Auburn University,
which is South Alabama. I was preparing tomorrow for it
to be 1,000 degrees.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
When are you going to be closed? I understood I
get a little bit of break because of the rain.
It's still going to be bad, but it's not going
to be like yesterday when we had 99. What am
I going to be, 91?
Speaker 1 (45:42):
I think it's like 92 is the high, but around
the time you're getting there, it's going to be in
the upper 80s. I'm going to put this down. I'm
going to go first floor wind. Temperature a win.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
But humid.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
I know, but I'm just saying in what it's been,
that's in the win column. I'm going to go headboard
shelf loss.
Speaker 6 (45:59):
Right.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
So right now you're winning two to one.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
Well, and here's the problem, too. On Earth, this is
the last child that we have going out, and Sherry
and I are older. We're tired. That's a loss. And
we're not as on top of this kid like we
are the others. Parents deteriorate. The more kids you have. Right.
I actually said to Sherry yesterday, I said, we are
(46:22):
leaving Thursday morning.
Speaker 5 (46:25):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
Do we even know where we're going? I said, when
we had the first one go out, we knew every detail.
I said, do we even know where we're going? And
Sherry goes, no, actually we don't. I said, so we
don't know where we're going. I'm going to ask you this.
Do you have the desire to just send him? Oh, yeah,
I'd do that in a second. Oh, I'd do it
in a second.
Speaker 6 (46:42):
Right.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
And see, if it wasn't for the first one, you
wouldn't have done that. Well, Sherry, like we do, but
Sherry says, and it's true, there's a special moment, we've
done it with all of them, where you're there, they're
in college. Of course, yeah. We got everything in your room.
Let's go have a dinner or lunch. In this case,
tomorrow will probably be more like lunch, I hope. And
then we say, you know, we love you. This is
(47:04):
the next great step. We pray over you, and we
are leaving. And then your mother cries all the way home.
We're out of here. And then I have to act
like I'm upset about it as well. And then I
find a place when I get home where your mother
can't see me, and I jump in there and do
a herky. Okay? Because I'm an empty nester now, and
I cannot believe it. But anyway, hey, look, I've had
(47:27):
my time.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
I love y'all.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
I want to know y'all as adults now.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (47:30):
Okay. We've had our kid time.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
It was great.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
I just want to know he's an adult now. Somebody
actually said that to me. They said, do you miss?
I said, no.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
Miss?
Speaker 6 (47:41):
What?
Speaker 3 (47:42):
I said, if I can find a way to get
rid of this dog, I'm going to be completely free.
Don't out all of us dad's too much. Not saying
I didn't enjoy time with my kids being children. I
remember when my kids were children, that whole world of
having small children and lots of small children, the feeling
(48:03):
of it was always just surviving. There were moments of
elation and joy and wonderful memories, but I remember always
being tired. I remember always having a lot of stuff.
I remember lots of things and gathering and traveling. And
I remember that every little thing, like trying to go eat,
was a game plan. And that's wonderful. It's a great
(48:24):
time of life, but it's exhausting. And so I'm too
old for that now. And so I'm just like, hey,
you know what? This is great. Like I keep telling Sherry,
I said, if we train them up to go, remember
last December when Big Love went back to school and
Sherry went to his bed and says, well, this is sad.
I said, no, no, no. What's sad is if he
(48:44):
was still in it. That's sad. The fact he's not
in that bed and he's gone, that's good. Because I
don't know if you know, he's 20. We don't want
him in this bed. we want him visiting, but then
he needs to go. And so, so, uh, if we
find these kids still in this house at this age,
it's not good. This is not good. And so, uh,
(49:05):
so it's going to be terrible.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Uh, it's going to be a nightmare, but I've gotten,
and I know we all do this is I've gotten
to the point where I can already see me like
here on Friday. When, when, i walk all over when
i walk in here on friday you're gonna see an
elated man i mean i mean y'all y'all may see
(49:27):
me y'all may look outside by big boy i'm going.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
We'll call that the big boy dance, right?
Speaker 5 (49:35):
Rick, I wish you could do the river dance.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Rick, that's pretty good right there.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
That was pretty good.
Speaker 5 (49:41):
What is that dance, by the way?
Speaker 3 (49:43):
I don't know what that is. That's my empty nest dance.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
Rick, I saw that years ago, and you had these
blue shorts on.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Right.
Speaker 5 (49:49):
That's the empty nest shuffle.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
Greg, it's like all the things that have been redeemed.
Now it's used for something good. Back then, not so much.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
So right now, though, you're losing 3-2. I just want
to let you know that.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
Look, I'm going to a big university. It's got a
lot of people. I've got a freshman. I don't know
where we're going. This also is our most independent child,
the soonest ones. Now, they all have become independent, but
he's the most independent at the youngest age. And he
had to be because we forgot we had him. You
know what I mean? So he had to survive.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
And you never told him anything.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Right, right.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
And we never told him anything.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
Does he even know you're going tomorrow?
Speaker 6 (50:29):
No.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
Well, you know what? I walked by him. It's so weird.
So weird. Because he's the oldest soul of all of
them because he had to be. And so I walked
up to him. I said, you got any idea where
we're going tomorrow? He goes, yes, sir. He said, I
have a sheet with everything. I said, okay, that's something
your mom and I don't have. So I said, so
you know where we're going? So you're in charge here?
Speaker 1 (50:49):
What is this? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
There's an 18-year-old kid that's got to handle tomorrow. I'm
out of the loop. I'm just driving a truck. I
don't even know where I'm going.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
There I go.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
I don't feel like I'm as on this as I
need to be. I just don't have the.
Speaker 5 (50:59):
Energy for it anymore. Rick, I think I out low-hastled
you on all this.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
You did.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Well, the key is how we ended up in the
dorm here. See, if I'd been paying attention, that wouldn't
have happened.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
So you've got a move out coming again in a
few months.
Speaker 3 (51:17):
Now, Mississippi State, see, you don't have a choice. You
have to go in the dorm with the freshmen. I
think we had a choice here, and I don't know
how this happened.
Speaker 2 (51:24):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
All right, so we were talking about the weekend.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
Rick, let us just say, ni hao.
Speaker 6 (51:33):
Ni hao.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
And so we ended up, you know, I called rural
Alabama Chinese, and there were some people, and then we
go to a buffet that's not a buffet.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (51:42):
And now they just have you ordering the numbers off.
But we got it worked out. We ended up with
a bunch of food. We don't know where it came from.
I have no idea how much it ended up being.
But we got it.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
We ate it.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
We've got boys there, and everybody's loving it. And so
I think, as I said going into the break, now's
the time I'm just going to invest.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
A little bit.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Because they were talking about what's your passions. We were
talking to Brooks about what are you thinking about you
want to do and what are you studying. And we
were even over to Braden asking him what his passions
were and Reese and all this.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
That was in-depth.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
And then I was getting ready to launch into what really,
in my opinion, is the key to life.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
And I had to learn it much later. I want
all my sons and everybody to learn it younger. And,
I mean, I'm launching into this is deep. It's time.
This is our takeaway.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Right, from the weekend.
Speaker 5 (52:33):
Used us as examples and really bringing it home.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
All right, so picture, Bub, I want to show you
the table. So I'm here. Big Love is here. And
nobody's here, right? I have nobody.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
No, it's me. Are you here or are you over there?
Speaker 3 (52:45):
No, Reese is here.
Speaker 5 (52:45):
I'm in front of you. I'm between Reese and Brady.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
I'm to your right. Brooks is to your left.
Speaker 5 (52:49):
All right.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
On one side of the table.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
And then Reese is here, you know, diagonal to my right.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Right, right.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
And then we've got, right across from me, Helmsy.
Speaker 5 (52:56):
Ni hao.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
And then ni hao to my left, over here on
the other side of the table, is Brayden.
Speaker 6 (53:01):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
And for some reason, I'm kind of coming scanning, and
this is where I'm locking in on Brayden. And who's
how old now?
Speaker 2 (53:08):
13.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
13.
Speaker 5 (53:08):
Yeah, teenager.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
I still keep thinking that Reese and him are one
year apart.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
They are. That's because they are. Ni hao.
Speaker 3 (53:15):
I forget that all the time. We were all alone
in there. You know how you get in your tunnel vision.
I didn't realize that somebody had come in to attempt
to order as well.
Speaker 6 (53:22):
And.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
And they're right over my right shoulder, right in the
eye line of a 13 year old boy.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
And I'm, and I'm like, you know, here comes a
gray beard. Man, I'm going to drop some wisdom off,
off a life, you know, hard lived. And all of
a sudden I get, I'm not even what, maybe a
quarter of the way in. I'm not, I'm not in long.
And behind me, this unbelievable noise. You know, it's one
thing for you to need to, and I don't want
(53:49):
to be grotesque because, and it's a pet peeve of
my wife's, by the way, who people do this around food.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
And I'm sure it is for most of us. What
was happening with the guy? He began to.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
It was one of the loudest. He tried to sneeze,
and I think on top of the sneezing, he was coughing,
and he had some kind of movement and jerk that
went with it as well.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
And there was clearly a mucus problem.
Speaker 5 (54:13):
There was, yes. He was one of these sneeze criminals.
I'll say this. I was thankful we had our food
at that point.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (54:19):
That's where I was at.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
Yeah, and I looked at Bigelow and said, well, this
wasn't a habit, though, like Kevin.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
But anyway, so... You remember the dog in Christmas Vacation?
Speaker 7 (54:28):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (54:28):
He said, oh, it's coming up. There's a touch of
that with a sneeze. Picture, I want you to picture this.
Speaker 5 (54:36):
And the movements that came with it.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
I want you to picture me in the most serious
conversation you could even imagine. And over my right shoulder,
I can't see it. Braden, 13-year-old boy, can see it
as this. And I'm like, guys, let me tell you something.
The number one thing that you need to understand, I mean,
this is more important than anything else we've talked about today.
Speaker 5 (54:59):
And you've got to decide today. You've got to decide
right now.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
And, of course, Brayden can't take it. He just breaks down.
Speaker 5 (55:13):
Well, who could? The minute Brayden let out the first laugh,
I couldn't hold it in.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
And then the whole table erupts. I never made eye
contact with the guy. So you know what I did, though, Bubba?
Another thing that helps having gray in the beard, I
just did reset. I said, we're going to reset this
whole thing. I said, let's let this finish. If this
guy needs help, somebody let us know. Yee-haw.
Speaker 5 (55:39):
Yee-haw.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
All right. Is it over?
Speaker 5 (55:42):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
That's not a pause. That's a total reset.
Speaker 2 (55:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (55:45):
Because I even said, let's not pick up. You might
need to time out. Well, because at that point, you
realize nothing you said was heard.
Speaker 5 (55:50):
Right.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
So there's no need to put a pause button on.
You've got to go back. You've got to unplug everything,
plug it back in, and let everything crank back up again.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
Right.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
You know, that's a shutdown start over is what that is.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
And what it was was a takeout order. It was
whoever was coming to get it.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
They were elated to see us. I'm sad because you
know how you start pulling for a place?
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (56:09):
I'm sad that I think that the people of Chilton
County have overreacted to the removal of the buffet. Guys,
let's don't be hasty on this. Can I tell you
something that may surprise you?
Speaker 5 (56:19):
Did you ask why the buffet had gone away?
Speaker 3 (56:23):
But I ended up with food that I know where
it came from. I ended up with two dozen Chinese
donuts somehow and 18 egg rolls. But I want to
say Chinese donuts were good. I want, and for some
reason the egg rolls are different kinds, but anyway, and
I know I didn't say anything about that, but, but
they were enjoyable.
Speaker 5 (56:39):
They were great.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
And I think you may agree with me. Look, I'm
certainly a fan of a buffet. Okay. I personally, from
someone who's eaten there probably a dozen to 15 times.
Speaker 7 (56:49):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
I preferred the food Saturday night over the buffet. Now,
you know, I like the idea of walking, I got
a plate, and I'm rolling. But I thought the fact
that it was coming out hot, it was coming out fresh,
I actually thought the food, as far as quality, was better.
what we had Saturday night than what I normally have there.
Speaker 5 (57:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Ni hao.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
You know, when it comes to a Chinese buffet or
cheap Mexican, my standards are not very high.
Speaker 5 (57:15):
Right, right.
Speaker 3 (57:16):
You know, I mean, I'm not expecting to be, you know,
I'm not going to go on there and immediately say,
I must get on one of these food sites and comment.
You know, it's nothing like that.
Speaker 5 (57:24):
You're not headed to Yelp.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
You know, it's adequate. You know what I'm talking about?
It's adequate.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:28):
But I actually thought this time, especially that General's chicken,
which is above a favorite.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
I actually thought it looked pretty strong. I didn't order that.
Speaker 5 (57:34):
It was as good as it looked. It was good,
and the teriyaki was good.
Speaker 4 (57:37):
It's the governor's chicken and the general's.
Speaker 5 (57:40):
Chicken all the same thing.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
It's the same thing.
Speaker 5 (57:42):
I mean, somebody's chicken.
Speaker 3 (57:43):
It's the same thing.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
It's general some places. It's general Tao some places.
Speaker 5 (57:50):
It's the governor's chicken.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Attorney general.
Speaker 5 (57:53):
It's the major's chicken.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
Wait, what you've started with Reese, and I'm going to
text you every time it happens. Coming back from the
Lenore Farms, there's There's a couple of different ways you
can go. That's one of them. Now it will be, Dad,
can we go have Chinese?
Speaker 5 (58:08):
It'll be that.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
All the time.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
So y'all be eating there a lot. I'm glad it
worked out. Is this not true? Of course, Bubba, sometimes
you just get tired of something. One of the ways
it led to this hunt at all was when you said, look,
I'm just going to tell you straight up, Reese asked me,
could we mix it up a little bit down here
and maybe go to Mr.
Speaker 5 (58:24):
Rich's?
Speaker 6 (58:25):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (58:25):
He'd love to see new places.
Speaker 6 (58:26):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
You know, and so now you can have a whole
new trick.
Speaker 4 (58:29):
He's only seen about three fields.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
I mean, it's Castleberry and Corn.
Speaker 5 (58:33):
He don't know.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
Anything else. That's all he's ever known. Let's get the
kid a new group trick. It goes to the bottom.
Let's get him on water pumps so he's up new.
I'm mad at Helms, but it was a great surprise.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
I didn't know that normally the two of us would
have communicated, hey, I'm going. And when we pulled up
and Reese saw Braden. Oh, so you didn't really know.
You said this is a surprise.
Speaker 5 (58:54):
I didn't know that. But when Reese saw Braden, he
was like, yeah. For some reason, I thought we were
all in group text. But I look back, it was
just individual.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
It was all off the spine. Thanks, man. I didn't
want to put any pressure.
Speaker 4 (59:02):
You saw Hams, and the first thing you said was,
ni hao.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Ni hao.
Speaker 6 (59:06):
Ni hao.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
Speaker 1 (59:12):
Hey, it's Speedy, and this is Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits,
flashing back through 31 years of radio gold every Saturday morning,
wherever you get your podcasts. It's Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba.
