Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Sex Lies and Spray Tans with Me, Cheryl
Burke and iHeartRadio Podcast. Hey guys, welcome back to Sex
Life and Spray Tans. We have our friend Kristin Burt
with us again today, and we have her on the
show so much that I want to take a minute
to remind you of some of the other places you
can find her as well. She is a pop culture
guru on Ryan Reynolds and Brian Vokweiss series discontinued on

(00:23):
Fubo TV. She is also contributing editor for Penske Media Corporations.
She Knows, a daily entertainment contributor to The Tom Bernard
Morning Show, and a pop culture expert on TF one's
fifty Minutes Inside in France. Please welcome back our headlines guru,
Kristin Burt. Well, let's just get into it as we do. Christin,

(00:47):
welcome back to Sex Life and Spray Tans.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Thanks for having me always.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
We've got Dancing with the Stars as the headline as always.
But inside the very impressive cap of celebrities being targeted
by ABC producers for next season of the hit show.
From j Loo's Ex's Plural to Baby Reindeer Superstar and
an MLB Legend. Now I believe maybe possibly one out

(01:15):
of those four I just mentioned, how about you one,
the only.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
One I honestly believe is Gypsy Rose.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Well, Gypsy Well, hold on the Baby Reindeer Superstar.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Do you think well, do you think that they will? Actually,
I mean I think that they were.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Did you watch it?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Did I watch?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Wait, Baby Rabyer Reindeer?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Totally watch Baby Raindeer.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I couldn't get through it. I couldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I only got through. I only got through the fourth episode.
And it's so disturbing.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
It's very hard to watch. I mean, and it's it's
Richard Gadd's version of what happened, because the real life
person is saying that's not exactly how it went down. Really, Yeah,
she's doing Netflix The Stalker, Yes, because he said, oh,
I shielded everybody enough so that you're not going to
be able to guess who it is. We know Internet

(02:05):
sluice at the times the start that I can figure
things out from a mail color So totally. Yeah. So
she's now suing it. I think it's one hundred and
seventy million dollars. There's some interesting things because at the
start of the show. If you watch it, it doesn't
say like this is based off of real life events.
It says this is a true story, so legally that

(02:27):
could be a grey area.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
It doesn't say loosely. It's not like it's not loosely.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
It is it was like a fact the way it
was written right, And he.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Did a one man show based off of this and
then developed it into a Netflix series. So I think
what will wind up happening. This is just my guess
Netflix will come to a settlement before it actually goes
to trial, because I do think that because of that
phrasing ahead of the show, when you watch it, that's

(02:58):
going to be the trigger that will force Netflix into
a settlement.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
And that also will keep people like us watching the
show because, like I mean, it got a lot, It
was trending for the longest time. But so Greig question,
are they referring to the actor that acted as or
are they going to ask the real person actors?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
We should be very clear about that. They're looking at
Jessica Gunning and Richard Gadd who were the actors, although
Richard Gadd is the real life person who it happened
to according to him, but he's also an actor and
the writer on Right Baby Reindeer. But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
So okay, so let me read a little bit of
this as far as Jalo's exes, so Chris Judd and
Casper Smart, both who have dance experience. Okay, Supposedly per
the Daily Mail, are being eyed up by the Dancing
with the Star's bosses and they're on the hunt for
their celebrity lineup Jalo's exes Gypsy Rose, we've got there,
and basically they want general anything related to Jenna for Lopez,

(03:55):
supposedly because of this whole huge speculation about her and
Ben Affleck divorcing. Regardless, let me just give you a
little insight here. I my last partner was originally not
my partner, like meaning I was supposed to dance with
somebody who backed out last minute. So I was texting

(04:18):
the executives and I was like throwing names out, like, okay,
since I don't have a lot of time, this is
not going to be fair, Like I only have a week.
You're not going to give me somebody with no dance
experience like right? And I said, how about Chris Jodd,
how about Casper Smart? How about Britney's then husband who
has dance experience, you.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Know, like Kevin Fetterlai.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
No, the other guy, this last one.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Oh Samuscari who was on Traders right now.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
And I also named I put in some like Telenovella
stars with some dance experience, and I just and of
course because I was like I only had a few days,
like that was it, And their response was nice, Try Cheryl,
that's not going to be That wouldn't be fair.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Have you worked with Chris Judd before.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Chris jud and I actually we just hung out as friends,
like when I first moved to LA.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I've interviewed Chris a bunch. First of all, he's soft spoken.
He never has capitalized off of being married to j
Loo at any point, and I really think that he
avoids the spotlight as much as possible. I don't think
he would do it, to be honest, I don't even
think Casper Wood. Yeah, yes he would Casper Wood, but
I don't think Chris jud Wood. And Casper has been
a judge on MIRA for a while, so I think

(05:35):
he would do it. But I don't think Chris Judwood.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
First of all, it just isn't fair. So, like I
really don't think. I mean, look, unless if everyone has
dance experience, then so be it. But again I'm going
to stick by by what I said, which is anyone
with dance experience is not ballroom dancing doesn't work in
your favor, especially for men.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Right well, I interviewed this just this past weekend, the
day after the Daytime Emmys. I saw Poverty Shallow. She's
from Survivor and season two of The Trainer.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yes, Yes, dying dying.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
To do the show. And so I asked her. I
was like, have you heard anything from the show as
anyone contacted?

Speaker 3 (06:10):
She no, she knows that's exactly it.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I'm like, Dina Katz, hello, this is I mean, you
have your in right there. She hadn't heard anything. I
will say, And here's two things. One, Dina Katz was
at the event I was at because it was FYC
for the Emmys, and like possibly scouting. Trichelle was also.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
There scouting the year around, all year round.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Percent Yes, And I said, Poverty, have you made your case?
Stated your case to Dina? She's like, no, get me on.
I'm like, I don't have.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
The power to get you on because she has to
do it.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
She has to do it. The other thing I want
to say, and this is so interesting because I literally
uttered your name on Safday. Harverdy. Shallow's partner is comedian
May Martin, and May Martin said to me, I would rather, like, jokingly,
if Prverty didn't do the show, because I'm afraid she's
going to fall in love with her dance partner. And

(07:01):
I said, you're not going to believe this. I just
did Cheryl's podcast this week and we were just talking
about this, and I said, don't worry, Like, as long
as you get a pro that really includes everyone, makes
everyone feel a part of the process. And May was like,
that would be great. I could handle that if they
make me feel a part of the rehearsal process. She's
gorgeous and she was just on season two of The

(07:21):
Traders and she's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yes, and I know what they're talking about, the one
that was with Max, Like she hung out with Max
quite a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
And that's what she said. She goes, I want Max
as a partner. I said, well, he's in retirement, and
she said there were Traders for Union. I was like,
I don't know if he's going back to the show.
But she really wants to do the show. I mean
she is like gunning for it and I just asked
her and she seems very bubbly, very bubbly, very personable.
People will like her.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
How to work hard. Where on Traders.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Traders, I would say somewhere in the mid to last
last half she was one of the traders, but she
hated lying.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I think the other she got really mad at her
a lot.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Right, there was something going on there with Trade Dan
Dan and the other woman.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Why can't I think am I blacking on her right now?

Speaker 1 (08:09):
That's who I thought you were talking about this whole time. AnyWho, Well, yeah,
I mean, look, how are the ratings. I'm sure amazing?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Oh Trader Season two was amazing.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
And everyone wants to be on Traders right now?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Please everybody Scottish showed to get cast on reality, to
get cast on right now?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
You know who's busy.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Pedro was the other trader.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Yes, of course she needs to be on before poverty.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
That's what I think. I would be shocked if if
Phaedre wasn't asked because she did such a great job
and she's so likable and she's so smart, and she's
stylish and fabulous, like Fhadra is a full package too.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
I agree, and she's gotten someone sassy, Like I can
see how tall is she.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
She's Sasha.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Can I throw something out about Sasha. I just saw
on Sasha's Instagram story he was hanging out with Rachel
Lee Cook. She is another little petit princess and I
was like, that would be a good partnering because she's
like that nineties nostalgia that.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Hallmark Oh yes, yes, yes, they.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Were hanging out, and I'm like, is he trying to
convince her to come on the show?

Speaker 1 (09:17):
They haven't announced the premiere. I'm assuming it's going to
be end of September, end of augusts what they're going
to start training. Look, all of these speculations are great.
It's probably everyone that we've talked about from you know,
we just said Chris Judd, Casper Smart. I still want
to see Gary from The Golden Bachelor, and I also
would love to see one of his you know, exes

(09:37):
as well compete during the same season.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Joan Fassos, m hm, did you think the two of
them together that would work?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Maybe they'll reunite by doing a waltz like who knows?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Who knows? Recent ist how a gypsy gypsy. I feel
like I think she's doing it. I'm gonna DM her.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
She's been out in LA a couple of times. I
would guarantee that there was a meeting that happened.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
I just hope that she's good. I don't want it
so breaks my heart. I don't want you want to
make a full of themselves. It's not fun.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
I wonder if she does do the show first of all,
mental health number one priority, because and I want the
show to treat her well. I don't want them to
be leaning into that scandalous side of it all.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Tom bergeron Tom Bergron is receiving the first Sam Rubin
Award at the Critics Choice Real TV Awards.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Well deserved because Sam Rubin was part of the board
of directors for the Critics Choice Associations and unfortunately passed
away in May. Tom is basically yeah, receiving this award
and well deserved. I mean, I love recipient. Yeah, are
you going? Will you be there?

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I will not be there, but I'm so excited that
he is being Tom's being honored, and I still I'm
not gonna lie like I still miss him. On to
Dancing with the Stars like this show took a hard
left when it.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Really excuse my French up.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, you know that was a personal firing, like that's
that's instead of thinking of the audience and the ratings
and what people want. And it was in such a
crazy time on top of it, I'll never get over it.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I me either, And it was really yeah. I mean
I'm still upset about it too, by the way. So
let's talk about Caitlin Bristow. She's been going through a
lot lately, on top of her ex just announcing officially
social media announced his new girlfriend, who actually I love
and follow her on social media. She's really funny. Actually

(11:39):
she would be great on Dancing with the Stars, just
saying she's full of personality?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Would they lean into that, because knowing that that is.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I'm not so sure if he should be I don't
think he should be on. I think she should be on.
So Caitlin basically is opening up about her body image issues,
which I alway always appreciate when a woman does this
because it really does take the shame away with anyone
who's ever felt like this or anything similar. She recently
shared a situation that triggered her body dysmorphia and basically

(12:13):
says she saw unflattering photos of herself and she found
herself just spiraling negative self talk, restrictive eating, and you know,
she quote said, I've had severe dysmorphia my whole life
with my body and thinking it looks a certain way
or believing what it looks like makes it not worthy.
I worked on that for so long, and despite her

(12:35):
hard work accepting her body, Caitlin still has moments of
crushing insecurity. Basically, she just did this photoshoot for some
swimwear brand. I didn't want to eat for the rest
of the day, she said. Listen, I feel her like,
no one's ever going to be cured when you've dealt
with something or when you are dealing with body image,
and in the world we live in today, if you

(12:57):
are whether a creator, influencer. I just I just had
Bethany Mota on and she was talking about this too.
It's like anybody and everybody, we're all making content, we're
all looking at ourselves way too much, point blank, and
it's bound to happen. And it's something that you know,
you just try and go to your resources and create

(13:20):
tools for yourself so that at least you're aware of it,
and every time you talk about it publicly, For me
at least, it takes the shame away, not one hundred percent,
but it chips away at it slowly.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
And I know Caitlin had a dance background coming in.
I've had a dance background. You've had a dance background. Obviously.
It's the growing up in a studio and you're constantly
looking at your body in the mirror. It does warp
your sense of what your body actually looks like. Especially
as you start to hit puberty. The body changes a
little bit and it's a tough thing. It lingers with

(13:52):
you for the rest of your life. And I think
that's the one thing you have to really turn that
dialogue around.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Have you gone through body dysmorphia?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
One hundred percent? And I grew up in the ballet world,
so that was, oh brutal. Yeah, it was brutal. It
was brutal, you know, and especially in an era where
it was the skinnier the better, not the stronger the better.
Of course, very different, yeah, mentality, and you know, obviously
a lot of dance companies have gotten better. But I mean,
one of my best friends, because I studied at Boston Ballet.

(14:22):
I still remember to the day, like she finally had
to just quit ballet because she said, it is just
triggering my bolimia and I can't stop unless I stopped dance.
And it just broke my heart because she was the
most gorgeous dancer. But the two things were tied together.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Yeah, I mean that this is why I stopped ballet,
because I grew hips. I mean I developed at nine
years old and I was like, I don't look like
anybody in here, and I need to get out because
like it just wasn't I couldn't maintain the body weight
that makes they work hard.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And I was on the late end of puberty. I
was about sixteen, sixteen and a half, and even just
having that six month gross berth that I had traumatic
You know, you just sit there and think, what's happening
with my body because you're so used to it being
one way and then it changes.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
And did you feel like pressured like did or was
it just you internal.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Internal self pressured? I definitely. I would say that my
dance teachers were all really good about not saying you
need to lose weight. I never did need to lose
weight either, so but it is the internal pressure being
just next to all these bodies in leotards and like
that was our uniform. It was leotard, pink tights, ballet
slippers or points shoes. That's it. No skirts, no sweatshirts.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
No, no pants nothing, No spray cand no spray cands. No.
I hate that.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Let's move on to Denise Richards, who is having She
is basically going to be back in the reality TV
space and she's going to be doing an e reality series.
I guess it's not officially named yet, but she's gonna
be doing this with her new family, so her two
daughters and her new husband, her three daughters, three daughters,

(16:12):
three daughters, so sorry, three daughters.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
I was like, her youngest is going to be in
there too, Wow.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
The one Okay, wait, do you think that the whole
OnlyFans thing is going to be involved?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
I think that they will address it because I think
Denise is pretty much an open book. She doesn't hide anything.
So I could see them maybe going, We're going to
do like a mother daughter swimsuit shoot or something for
only fans. I could see that happening.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Do they do that? Now?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I'm not sure how much crossover is happening. I don't
think there is any but maybe they will for the
show and whether it actually makes it up onto only fans,
who knows. But because you know it's reality, I say that.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
I also know that her husband like takes all those
shots for her, which is.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Maybe money all in the family. You think Charlie Sheen's
gonna make a cameo, I bet I bet he will.
I mean the friends.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
So like when I had Denis on and I told
her that I was supposed to dance with Charlie, she
was so pissed off that Charlie didn't tell her, And yeah,
so this was something that.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I was my new news for her.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Oh shock, she was shocked. She was shocked that he
even tried to do it. Put it that way, not
so much shocked that he turned it down.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
The show is Denise Richards and the Wild Things, playing
off of her Wild movie.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
She is just killing it. You know what, I bet you,
Andy Cohen, you should have hired her back on The
Beverly Hills Housewives.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
And I believe she's also an executive producer on this,
so she's going to be able to really control the narrative,
which was very smart.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
And the last time she did a reality show was
when she did Dancing with the Stars at the same time,
so this has gotta be.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Yeah, that was a lot.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Okay, So congratulations to Denise, sending love okay, Ariano Madics.
First of all, she's looking hot as hell in her
new freaking Love Island. I mean, it's not a new show,
but she's hosting it for the first time, and she
looks amazing.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
That golden spray hand they put her on her, that
dress that they had her in, her.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Hair, everything, her confidence for her love, self love that
is exuding from her, whole everything.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Her Aura sand of all.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Who Okay, Lala can't let's just go Let's just remind
everybody of all the crap that has been going back
and forth starting with We're going to go through all
the points here, and it's quite a lot, but we'll
just go one by one so that no one's overwhelmed.
Lala's questions about Ariana not working hard enough during season eleven.
Do you agree, Kristin No.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
I think she did exactly what she was supposed to do.
She put up her boundaries and said she was not
going to film with Tom Sandibal. That is her right.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Why Laala thinks Ariana's romance and Daniel Way proves she
wasn't upset. Do you believe that's true or falls Kristin No.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
You know, you can't put timing on when you're going
to meet someone. You may take a year off after
break up. You may take two weeks off and then
you find the love of your life. You just never know.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Number three, Lala claims Arianna thought she was bigger than
the show. Do you believe that's true? Kristin No, I
think on Laa.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
I'm sorry Lala, but I think there was a lot
of jealousy in play, and that Lala, who had her
own cheating scandal with her ex, felt like, well, why
didn't I get those same opportunities that Ariana got? But
you know that was lightning in a bottle of that
particular moment of pop culture.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Lala thought Ariana didn't respect vander Pump rules enough. Do
you believe this is true? Kristin Here's my thought.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I think that both Sina Shay as well as Lala
kent they have two mortgages and they need the show
to probably go on in order to pay their two mortgages.
They both have homes and Pump Springs and they brand
new homes in Sherman Oaks, and I thought they thought
that this train was going to keep on running. But
after Scandabal, the only place to go, oh was down.

(20:01):
And it's not on Ariana's shoulders to keep you employed,
That's my thought.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yeah, exactly, count your blessings, all this energy she's putting
out there for Ariana. Just give that to yourself. Do
you have any advice for Laala if she's listening to this, Lala,
chill out.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I know you know she's she's pregnant right now, Like
kick back, relax, enjoy this happy time in your life.
Don't fight back against the VANDR pump rules fans. It's
not worth it. It's wasted emotional energy. I think. Just
focus internally.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
For you and the baby, like you know, and also
mind you, Laala is amazing, like she is beautiful. She
is like, first of all, you making such a statement
with having a baby with not a partner, right like
that actually motivates me one day, you know. And she
just has her own thing going on, so continue, like
you said on that trajectory.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah, she's got a beautiful family, so okay.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Kristin Cavaleri says she was skin and bones and got
down to only one hundred two pounds during unhappy marriage
to j Cutler. Ouch okay, Well, stress affects people in
different ways. Kristin is opening up about her past weight
struggles on her podcast Let's Be Honest with Christ and Cavalary.
She said, look, I was very thin. I'll put it

(21:16):
into perspective for you guys. I'm five to three. I
currently weigh one hundred and fourteen pounds. Filming Very Cavalry.
I got down to one hundred and two pounds and
I was eating the same amount of food that I'm
eating now. Basically, she said, the difference was I was
so unhappy and so stressed out. She said, I look
back at photos from that time period and I'm like,
holy shit. I was rail fin thin, I was skin

(21:36):
and bones. I looked like shit. I think I look
so much better now, And you guys, that was just stress.
That was being in a really unhappy marriage. Quite honestly, literally,
I was so unhappy and I had way too much
on my plate. And now she's happy.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
She that's good.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
She has been lifting. I saw her like little guns
and I was like, bab yeah, good. I think she's
having fun, and I think I think having the conversation
around stress and weight and how you know, when people
you lose weight sometimes because of a stressful situation, people
like you look so great and you're thinking inside, I
feel awful. I've had that happen before.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I went through a million times, oh gosh, and people
were like, you look so good, and all I could
think about was like, I am crying inside, and so
I just maybe make not make conversation, you know, yea, yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
That's what Lindsay Sterling said, because like the amount of
times too when I was on the show, when I
was starving myself to death or I was not in
a healthy place and people say you look good, Like,
I don't think people understand, right, Like maybe that person
could be suffering. It's just as bad as if you
were to call someone out for their weight, and like
if they've gained a few pounds, it's the same thing, right, Like,
I think people just need to stop with all of

(22:50):
it in general. You're right, well, that's such a sensitive subject. Okay,
let's move on to Amanda Clutes. So Amanda Cloes told
People magazine that basically the financial toll of her husband
Nick Cordero's ninety five day hospitalization. The ventilator alone was

(23:11):
three thousand dollars a day, which I did the math
and it ended up being a quarter of a million
dollars if he was connected, if he was attached to
the ventilator every day for the ninety five days. However,
that's just the ventilator. Can you imagine how much it
would just be just to spend the night there. Do
you remember when this was all happening.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
I do.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Were you're following the story?

Speaker 2 (23:35):
I was on Instagram following her story.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Why was it so intriguing?

Speaker 2 (23:40):
I think her positivity was something that a lot of
people resonated with the joy of playing his song and
hopefully waking him up out of his coma, and imagining
what her life and keeping that positivity, Imagine what their
life is going to be when he finally gets out,
like not getting down when they had to end. If
you take his leg, She's like, it's fine, we will,

(24:02):
you know, adjust the home and you know, make it
eighty a compliant. That positivity is hard to have, I
think in such a dark time, because on top of it,
it was a worldwide pandemic.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
And you know, I actually interviewed her for a YouTube
series I did short after the pandemic, and look, she said,
thank God that she was able to turn to her
social media platforms. But I also know even before I
met her, before she did Dancing with the Stars, a
lot of people didn't agree with what she was doing either.
They felt like she was really it was like almost oversharing.

(24:36):
Now people heal in different ways and in a way,
I also read her book, it saved her life, like
being able to turn to a community of people and
her little you know, her community people where she was
living at the time that Laurel Canyon, like just being
able to, like you said, sing songs and it helped
her son, like it could have gone at other dark place.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Really, yeah, he was so little at the time, her son, Elvis,
and needing community and a time when we couldn't necessarily
hang out with our community. And I think that I understand,
like people are like, why weren't you sobbing? Well, you
can't always just she's mess behind the scenes. She is
allowed to do that. And and but you know, people
think the face of grief is supposed to be only

(25:20):
one thing, but grief has no blueprints, there's no timeline
on it, and everyone needs to go through the process
the way.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
That everyone hears differently. Yes, absolutely, and I have to
say thank god she did that because now she was
probably able to pay off her hospital bill because of that.
In her rise to fame, whether people want to say, oh,
you just used your you know, husband for that's such
bs Like, she's a talented and beautiful soul and you
know what, more power to her. I know the talk

(25:50):
has just got canceled, is that correct?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Correct? It is on through the end of December, and
then a new daytime soap, The Gates will take its
place in January.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
She needs to be on last story sad story. Kel Mitchell,
the Nickelodeon star who danced with Whitney on Dancing with
the Star, says Dan Schneider brought him into a closet

(26:20):
and yelled all this wild stuff. On all that set,
we kind of bumped heads. I had Kyle Massey on
the podcast and we touched on this subject about Dan
Schneider and that you know docuseries quiet on set.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Have you seen it?

Speaker 1 (26:39):
What did you think?

Speaker 2 (26:40):
So disturbing, so hard to watch? And I think for me,
one of the things I wish we had heard more
from sag Aftra. Why weren't they protecting these kids more?
And we still didn't really hear anything in the aftermath
of it. Like if I were sag after I'd be like, hello,
here's how we've made some changes since the shows have

(27:00):
been on the air. I will tell you there's been
whispers about Dan Schneider for for years.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
It's so discussed.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
I'm so very disgusting. It's one of those everybody knew.
I know.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Is it allegedly or has it been proven?

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Now he has said and so, first of all, he
has no sexual abuse allegations against him, That is fact.
But he and he's admitted himself that he didn't run
the best set. So there are allegations of I would say,
emotional abuse, maybe some cruelty and things like that. That
made a lot of the kid.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Actors not You're not going to get arrested, is he?

Speaker 2 (27:35):
But some of the other sexual abuse charges came from
other people who have been arrested and who did go
to jail for it. But why that worked on the
Dan Schneider set, right.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Like the guy that was hot tupping with Oh God?

Speaker 2 (27:48):
But again, these allegations were known. They were known.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
What Kyle said was that, you know, his mom was
very involved and that like you know, he was, he
never saw it happen. However, he also felt obviously he
felt a lot of compassion and empathy for these people
who he did work with, but he never saw that himself.

(28:13):
And Kel's you know, when you stick up for yourself,
like look, coming from abuse myself, I never stuck up
for myself because I was very scared, right, So I
was very I was scared for different, many reasons right
when I was sexually abused. And the only reason why
my abuser, Gracott, was because my stepsister's best friend went

(28:36):
home and told her parents. And when you're a part
of such trauma like this, it's it's not easy. So
when people say why didn't you just say something like,
it's just not easy, everyone different stress response. Mine was freeze,
and I'm sure a lot of these people also the same.
And now that they're coming out. First of all, it's
never too late to tell your story or to talk

(28:58):
about it. And the fact that Kel stood up for
himself when he was a kid, good for him, But
not everybody's like that, you know, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Everyone has a different experience and just because it didn't
happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen to somebody else.
And that's denying survivors' experiences.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Oh, that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Doesn't help with the healing process or anything else. They
need the support absolutely.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
