Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Sex Lies and Spray Tans with Me Cheryl
Burke and iHeartRadio podcast. Hey guys, welcome back to Sex
Sizes and Spray Tans, the review series. We are Dancing
with the Stars Season thirty three. It is the premiere.
Holy hell, I cannot believe it's already been a year
and the podcast is still going strong. Thanks to all
of you for all of your unconditional love and support.

(00:23):
As usual, don't forget to rate and review wherever you're
listening to this podcast if you want it to continue
past season thirty three. But let's just get right into it.
This opening number was fire by Jamal Simms. He did
such an amazing job. The energy was amazing. I mean
the fact that Britt was featured.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I just love.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
I just really wish Britt had a better partner.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
But maybe I could be wrong.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
You know, I had my predictions, and you know, we'll
see if I came close. But who knows. Everything could
change tonight. The opening number was spectacular, It was shiny,
It was everything that Dancing with the Stars represents. Just
on a material side, I would have loved to see
the women wear brighter colors like I don't think I've

(01:05):
ever seen a number where all the girls wore like
white beaded fringe or like matching the guys because I
think they had like a teal or like an emerald
velvet jacket. I would have loved to see them in
like emerald green dresses. But you know, I know that
they're kind of recycling costumes because you can't make so
many costumes, especially the first week. So shout out to

(01:27):
the wardrobe team. They're amazing. I mean, honestly, what they
do with us or what they do now with them
week after week and the turnaround is incredible. They don't
get enough credit, and same with a glam team. Shout
out to them. Everyone looked gorgeous. They looked so excited
to be there. You know, I would have loved to
see a little bit more chat cha, especially from like

(01:47):
the pros that really do well when it comes to
like the Latin and ballroom dances. I saw a Val
and Jenna had like a couple eights where they did
like a partnering and chat cha. I would have love
to see maybe Danny and Pasha and a couple others
as well. Welcome the new troop. I love seeing new faces.

(02:08):
Roman Kaylin, Stephanie and Marquette. Roman's hair was a little distracting,
but you know, hopefully he'll pull that hair back or
at least do like a half up, half down look.
I would have loved to see his face a little
bit more. But it's great to see new faces, and
it's really great just to see brit featured. She is

(02:29):
a spectacular dancer, especially with this type of style that
Jamal Simms, you know, had these dancers execute. This is
where Britt really shines. I kind of wish, you know,
she had a better partner, but we'll see. Maybe they're amazing.
I really love just the energy. I miss Emma's blonde hair.
I'm just gonna say that, but maybe because the lighting

(02:49):
was so dark, I have yet to really see the
full look, you know. But Whitney is obviously back, and
I'm so happy that she's back. She looks like she
hasn't even missed a season and whatsoever. She looks gorgeous
as ever. Jenna looked fire, and it's so nice just
to see the judges and see familiar faces. Everyone seems
to be so happy to be there, and I hope

(03:12):
the camaraderie is going to be strong between the cast
and from what I hear because I'm watching all of
this West coast, so from what I hear, people are
pleasantly surprised by some of these couples. So let's get
right into it. Let's start with couple number one I
believe is Jenna and Joey.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Surprise the crap out of me.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
I have to say, he was very smooth from foot
to foot, almost too smooth. You know. He's definitely hands
down the best bachelor that the show's ever had. So
my mistake, I totally did not think that he was
going to come out there and really be able to,
I guess, transfer his weight the way he did from

(03:53):
foot to foot like the only I mean, there's a
few things right first of all, because he started out
pretty strong. I would say, first of all, shout out
to Jenna, because Jenna did a great mix of chacha
and you know, line dancing whatever that was. But there
was definitely more chatcha than it was country dancing or

(04:15):
line dancing whatever you call it. However, she really you
could tell she hammered in the technique. The only thing
is I hope you know they only showed in the package.
I think their first meat. So he was wearing shorts
and tennis shoes. You know me, guys like, I'm a
stickler for this, but in order for you not to
have heal leads on the show day live show day,
you have to practice in your Latin shoes. I don't

(04:38):
know if those were Latin shoes that he was wearing,
but they looked really stiff. Hit this shoe itself, I
think I know what shoe that is, but it's not
so much like a Cuban heel, which is fine because
they wouldn't have gone with the theme of you know,
their actual country song. But I definitely think he needs
to work on transferring his weight even more.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
From so, he.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Looked a little flat footed. He looked like he was
in between each foot, but I have to say he
was very coordinated. And I don't know if this is
from his tennis background or what, but it was really
nice to see that he was able to have great
chemistry and really perform.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
He's super cute.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
You know, I don't watch The Bachelor Bachelorette, so it
was really nice to just see Jenna shine. You know,
I think it's been what last season. She wasn't she
wasn't paired with someone who was able to move the
way Joey moved tonight. I definitely, again he is the
best bachelor of the show has had, so hopefully, you

(05:42):
know they'll make it far, which I'm sure they will.
He's definitely agile, super cute, chemistry. He has to watch
out for those heel leeds, as I said earlier, and
I mean I'm assuming since he's a coach that he's
a great student, right. He definitely had great musicality, so
that's not an issue. Will be an issue for him
is really being able to keep his upper body still

(06:05):
a little bit while he is also moving from the
waist down, especially when it comes to like samba or
any other Latin dance except for the positoblay. I'm pretty
sure his ballroom will be great. I think he's definitely
a contender, if not a finalist or at least semi finalists.
But this is still only couple number one, so I

(06:26):
think the level of dancing from what I've seen on
social media is going to be pretty high this season.
My score for Jenna and Joey is a seven. The
judges gave Joey and Jenna three sevens, which is very high.
You guys, like, sevens for week one is basically equivalent
to getting tens. Okay, so it's a really high score,

(06:48):
and it's great that you know they started out strong.
Now you know, they have to just focus on improving.
And I think what he needs to just focus on,
if I were just to name one thing, is having
control over his arms. His arms got a little dangly
and he looked a little gumby ish. But I'm just
being very picky. He definitely has potential, and I'm so

(07:09):
happy to finally see a bachelor that has rhythm. Okay, anyway,
let's move on to couple number two, Gleb and Brooks.
So right away, I'm gonna say this before I even
watch their dance. Brooks needs to be a little bit
more camera friendly. I think you guys have heard me

(07:29):
say this on the podcast. It's really important because you've
got two beautiful people, right and it's so easy to
have a resting bitch face because she's just gorgeous. I
wish you were just a little I know it's cheesy.
I know everyone feels so weird and awkward and maybe
a little nerdy, but again, when you're that gorgeous, you

(07:50):
have to bring out the fun child that's inside of you,
that's inside of every.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
One of us.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
You know, you kind of have to like shoot the shit,
make fun of yourself, self deprecating. So hopefully, as she continues,
if she does, there's no elimination this week. So hopefully
she can just feel more comfortable and just look Rob Kardashian,
though he wasn't a model, same thing, he just felt
so like nerdy and insecure, but until he was making

(08:19):
fun of all of us, like it was an inside joke, right,
So she just has to figure out whatever it is
that she needs to think about, because when you walk out,
the first impression is everything. But let's talk about their dancing.
First of all, it was bumpy. I thought this was
an Argentine tango, and I just thought maybe the veo

(08:40):
they forgot to add the word Argentine before the tango.
But no, this was a ballroom tango. And because of that,
I'm gonna nail him. Because first of all, the dress,
the choice of the dress, it is up to the
pro honestly, you know, like if we want a rumba
dress or a jive, they'll make us a rumba dress

(09:02):
for a jive.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Her dress was a.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Rumba or an Argentine tango dress. There is a reason
that we wear full skirts for ballroom standard tango. I appreciated. Actually,
when I saw their rehearsal clip, like, I had to
watch the full thing twice because I am taking notes
at the same time as I'm watching just everything the
whole package, from the intro, from them meeting each other,

(09:29):
to her backstory a little bit, to you know, what
they're wearing in rehearsal, what are they like rehearsing exactly.
What I didn't understand was why, you know, First of all,
kudos to them, and kudos to GLEB for making sure
she wore a full skirt during rehearsal and her heels.

(09:49):
Speaking of heels, they are too tall, okay, like there's
a reason, and they're not pretty. Okay, ballroom standard shoes
and smooth shoes are not pretty. But this is not
a runway show. This is about movement and dance and
ballroom dancing. And if this was which it was a
standard tango, the frame was too wide, she was off beat,

(10:13):
she was nervous, which I totally get. Mind you, I
have to say she's one of the best models that
we've had. She's like up there with Joanna Krupa. She's
gorgeous and everything. Now, the reason why she was wobbly
was not only because she wasn't grounded, but her heels
were an inch too high. And when you're doing tango
and you're not supposed to have any rise and fall,

(10:35):
which they had plenty of, it just it doesn't work.
Like there's a reason why we wear wardrobe to match
the style of dance. You have to have a flex
to the knee. You have to stay grounded. She was
too jumpy and bumpy. She was ahead of the music.
The frame was shaky, and when they were doing the

(10:56):
Viennese crosses. You know, I know Carrieenne said that if
you were if your hold was better, you wouldn't step
on him. No, I don't agree with that. First of all,
they had great body contact, so good on them. If
she would have really toned it down her energy. Tango
is about looking stocky and like kind of like quietly

(11:19):
moving and then quickly moving, and then there's different shades
to the tango. You know, her hair was all up
in her face, which is sexy. I wish she would
have done a rumba. With her look, I would have guessed, oh,
they're dancing a rumba or even an Argentine tango. You know,
there was a lot of rise and fall. Her actual
body weight was more towards the front of her foot,

(11:41):
and she didn't really transfer her weight from foot to foot,
so she didn't know what foot to step on. And
you know, overall, tango is a hard dance to start with. However,
she has potential. I just hope America gets behind these
two because if anyone goes home first, it could be them.

(12:03):
But they need to come back with a really strong
dance next week and take it seriously. I know that
they are taking it seriously. I'm not saying that they're not.
I just think with whatever style of dance, it is
like you can never go wrong, you guys, like if
you just follow what tango should be, which is like
if Len was here, he would have been super disappointed.

(12:24):
The frame was too wide. The frame needed to be
more intimate, She needed to learn how to transfer her
weight from foot to foot, and he needed to put
his foot down as far as the heels go, because
I'm pretty sure she didn't want to wear a shorter
heel right, like a smaller heel.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Because it's not pretty.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
But again, it's about movement, right, It's moving as one unit,
and you can't do that in a tall stiletto three
inch or three and a half inch stiletto. I give
Gleb and Brooks a five. The judges gave them three six's,
giving them an eighteen out of thirty. Let's move on

(13:02):
to the next couple, Alan and Alona. First of all,
like the judges said, I love everything that she represents.
I wish that we had more women like Alona on
Dancing with the Stars. She really is such a confident,
amazing athlete, and I love that she went out there.

(13:25):
She wore the costume, she owned the costume.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
I wish that.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Okay, So I'm just gonna say it as it is,
as I always do. First of all, I don't know
if that was the first day that they were rehearsing,
but she was wearing tennis shoes like if Elona. I mean,
I'm pretty sure she's comfortable wearing heels, but it's one
thing just to walk in heels versus dance and heels.
I think that she was holding back because she didn't
want to come across as too strong. But again, like

(13:56):
the judges said, don't hold back, like you really shouldn't
hold back to take You should charge into Alan, like
take his ass down. He can definitely work with that,
like he can own it too. Don't worry about being feminine.
You're in a dance costume wearing beaded fringe. Okay, you
have a high cut like skirt that's basically you know,

(14:20):
going all the way up to your hip bones. You're
not even you know, you look feminine already. Don't even
worry about that. Honestly, it's more about really committing one
hundred percent. Alona really needs to just attack each movement, right.
I think that in a way she kind of whenever

(14:42):
she loses eye contact with Alan, then she looks very nervous,
like a deer in a head in the headlights. You know,
she really needs to just continue with the Latin dances,
especially look at Alan the whole time. I don't care
if the director or if anyone is telling you to
look into a specific camera, don't do it. As soon
as she took her eyes off of Alan, you could

(15:03):
see how nervous she was. For example, here's a move
that she needs to do, and I'm sure she'll do
it again. When she slid and did a lunch onto
her left leg, she needed to slap her thigh, Like
I know that she's doing whatever Alan is telling her,
but like she really needs to slap her thigh and
leave a handprint on her thigh. At the end of

(15:25):
the dance, it was as if she was walking or
dancing on egg shells. And you really don't need to
do that. There's no way that you know. Yes, of
course she's nervous. Of course she's out of her element,
but she's not like it's all about strength, it's all
about staying grounded. And I have to say she was
pretty grounded considering how nervous I'm sure she was. But

(15:48):
like whatever she does in her sport, she needs to
also use that to her advantage in the ballroom dances.
Because I'm telling you right now, when you see it,
when I see a woman grounded and strong to the
point where like I don't even see her partner, that
is amazing. Like I was also a very strong dancer.
And don't worry about Alan, He'll rise up to the occasion.

(16:10):
Your femininity is already there. Don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
At all. Like, that's what I would say to her.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Don't worry about looking feminine or being feminine. You are feminine,
You're sexy. You'r hot own every single step. Attack every
single step because you're going to be a force to
be reckoned with. Honestly, that's what I would say to her. Anyway,
I'm really excited about these two. I love Alan and

(16:38):
his actual chemistry with Alona. I hope he teaches her
to attack each step and not to worry about even
for a second. Don't even worry about looking more womanly
or feminine, like it's gonna happen. You're on a freaking
ballroom dance show wearing beaded fringe, and Ryan Star owns

(17:01):
you are beautiful, Like she's so beautiful, she just needs
to own it, and the judges will never say like
you're too much, right, So I think it's important to
really own who she is and just again let it
all hang out. I give Allan An Alona a five.
The judges gave Alan and Alona three sixes.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
They seemed very excited about that.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Like I said, you know, seven's is equivalent to tens
basically for the premiere, and so sixes are definitely pretty high.
I would say it's a good average score and you
can definitely grow from there. However, I do feel like
I understand that you're not comparing the couples, or the
judges may not be comparing like Brooks to Ilona, for example,

(17:46):
but I definitely believe that they both deserved a five.
I feel like the judges are being very nice tonight,
as they should, I guess, but the scores don't have
to be nice, right, Like, I think it's important to
also just point out what needs to be worked on.
I think this is something that's missing still when I
see when I see the judges give feedback, Like, I

(18:07):
understand it's a TV show, but like, please give these
couples something to work on, especially since it's only the
premiere night.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
You know.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
I understand too that they have added pressure with the
timing and all of that. They each have like what
twenty seconds to talk, but like, organize your thoughts and
give like one to two pointers of what they can
really do to work on their quality of movement so
that they come back next week stronger, just saying let's

(18:36):
move on to the next couple. Okay, we have Emma
and Reginald. He is adorable, He's got lots of charisma.
They dance to salsa, or Emma dance to salsa. I mean,
the man is seventy two years old. It's not like
he can't dance like I'm I'm pretty sure he has movement,

(18:57):
you know, with salsa, it is one of the easier dances.
Once he had that momentum of dancing like the actual
salsa basic, he should have just kept going like he
shouldn't have stopped. I'm not in these rehearsals. So maybe
that alone was a huge improvement from day one that
Emma was working with Reggie. I'm going to start calling
him Reggie because I hear everyone else is there on

(19:18):
the show. He needs to look at her, similar to Ilona,
like when he doesn't look at Emma, he becomes like
a little zombie. He just doesn't blink, and he's nervous.
Everyone is nervous. I get it, and I definitely have
compassion for everyone because this is not easy, right, especially
going into a seasoned show like Dancing with.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
The Stars, there's a lot of pressure.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
There were times where like I wish he would have
added an arm movement when Emma was running around him
in the salsa. I think Emma needs to tone it
down when it comes to screaming at him, because I
can see that that's what's happening, and I'm sure he
needs it. But like I said last year with Peta,
there's ways of doing it where you don't have to

(20:04):
like shout at your partner, right, and it's visible, so
it's not necessarily it takes you out of the character
of the dance. It takes you out of the vibe
of the dance. I mean, he's super charming, he's got
that like very charismatic smile. And if he just focuses
on staying with Emma, like eyes should only be on

(20:25):
her and not listen to whoever's telling him to look
into whatever camera, that's not important. What's important is to
like bring out your personality. And I have to say, celebrities,
you know, especially the first few weeks, they're most comfortable
looking at their celebrities, so let them do it. He
didn't move much, but again I'm sure he improved from

(20:47):
day one up until the premiere night. He's not going
to go anywhere as far as I'm concerned, but I
see his families in the audience, and they're also very nervous,
and I guess, I mean, I can just imagine, you know,
I'm I'm sure when he got the offer to do
this show, I don't know if it was a yes
right away or if they had to really think about it.
But this guy really just needs a solid basic step

(21:11):
and within the basic movement, like let's say he has
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Like a chatcha next week.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
If he just sticks to that rhythm and sticks even
if he stuck to the same basic movement, Emma can
get creative with what she's doing with that right around him,
because like again, don't lose the momentum.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Don't just like.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Start a salsa basic do it for a few eights
and then just stop. Like he didn't move at all,
which is fine because salsa's not supposed to move around
the floor, But he could have still kept the timing
within his feet, you know, quick, quick, slow one too.
You know, all of that could have still been a
part of his dance easily. But instead he was pretty stagnant.

(21:52):
And if he is not moving, like let's say, there
is no choreography or steps. He needed to create more
of a wider base between his feet. He just this
is where you know less is more if you own it,
meaning like if you don't have steps, make sure your
feet are far apart from each other, your chest is out,

(22:14):
you know, your hips are forward, and at least look
like a dancer in stillness. Right, So there's a lot
of things that definitely can be improved, for sure. I
give Reggie and Emma, unfortunately a four. The judges actually
gave him a six ' five to five. Whitney and Danny,

(22:36):
when they're not in hold in their tango, it is
so important just to be all up in her grill, Like,
be all up in Whitney's grill, grab her, bring her
face into yours, like really mean it.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
And I think.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
That there's a lot of these celebrities that are holding back,
and I don't know if that's because the pro is
not exaggerating what needs to happen. Like I would always
say to my celebrity, like, really mean it. If you're
touching my leg, like touch my leg, not with your fingertips,
with the palm of your hand. And this is like
a similar note to Alona, like everyone like don't walk

(23:16):
on eggshells. It's better to overdo something than to underdo
it right, like don't it's never too much, not for ballroom,
because ballroom is all about exaggerating. I wish there was
more content in their tango, but again I can tell
that the show is changing, like they're not being called
out for not enough content, which is a shame because

(23:37):
it's kind of like, well, what is the rules? Ballroom
is a specific niche and if it's done properly, it's beautiful.
But if anything goes then this is just one big
freestyle Dan show.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Right, they had.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Very few moments of actual proper tango. His weight needed
to be again, I'm saying again because I think I
said this in with another couple, like the instead of
putting your weight forward, you've got to bring your weight back.
And how does that happen? Your head is heavy, right,
like we all have heavy heads. You got to keep

(24:12):
your head away from your knees, away from inside the frame.
You got to keep that head back as if you're
lifting two heavy suitcases. Is so important because that's when
the butts are to stick out.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
But there's a lot of.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Chemistry between these two, and in a good innocent way obviously,
but you know you can tell that this is just
week one for Danny, he's got that athlete mentality. He's
not as agile as someone like, let's say, Joey. However,
there's a lot to work with there, and there were
moments of like really hot chemistry between these two. I

(24:47):
just think it's important again to just work foundation. He
needed to drag his feet, he needed to be less steppy,
and he needed to lead with his legs and not
with his upper body. There were definitely moments that I
saw he was leading Whitney, which was very It was
a surprise to me because to see him actually like

(25:09):
lead and kind of man handle her, but not too much,
like don't be gentle with Whitney, she can handle it.
It's so great to see Whitney back on the floor.
She is meant to do a show like this, and
she's just got such great energy. She looks gorgeous as ever,
and I think these two are going to just get
better and better as.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
The weeks go by.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
I really believe that if Whitney teaches him how to lead,
he will just ultimately look stronger and in a way
I can just see his potential, Like if it were
between Danny and Joey, I would definitely choose Danny in
like five weeks from now if they continue on this trajectory, right,
because like, there's definitely a beautiful I don't know, there's

(25:53):
like a beautiful just way that these two move together.
I hope that the foundation for their Latin is stronger.
I'm pretty sure that's what they'll get next week.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
We'll see. He just you know.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Also, it's important in the tango to have like tunnel vision,
like laser vision, Like you don't see what's around you,
You just see what you're looking for, right, which is
you just want to squint the eyes, keep the mouth shut,
close your lips, and just especially in the tango, it's
a man's dance, so you have to really own it.

(26:29):
This is why for celebrities, especially for male celebrities, the
tango is really difficult to do for week one because
you're just still getting to know your partner, You're still
getting to know your environment that you're in. But I
think ultimately when it comes to the tango, even Argentine tango,
it's important to make sure you have tunnel vision. And
if you don't have it, just squint your eyes, keep

(26:53):
your mouth shut for the most part, and don't forget
to breathe. I think Danny was holding his breath throughout
the whole routine right now, at least these I think
the routines are maybe like sixty seconds long, or maybe
seventy seconds at the most. It's important to breathe throughout.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
All.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
In all, though, I think this couple definitely has potential.
I give Whitney and Danny a six. I also see
Kate Flannery in the audience. I cannot wait to have
her on the podcast. She'll be on I think in
a week or this week. Actually, I'm interviewing her on Thursday,
so whenever that is, she is in the audience supporting Pasha.

(27:36):
I'm pretty sure in just the show in general, so
I can't I look forward to that interview as well.
Make sure you tune back in for that. Remember we
drop episodes every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Mondays are my interviews.
Wednesdays will be the live reviews from the live show,
and Fridays will be none other than headlines and hot topics. Okay,
so let's see what the judges have to say for

(27:59):
Whitney and Danny Dance. Okay, so the judges actually said
some helpful I would say notes for Danny and for
Whitney to work on. Derek and I, I think we're
pretty close when it comes to like he has potential
and he definitely you know, his weight.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Was too far forward.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
But yeah, there is definitely moments where like there's moments
of brilliance almost and it's when they were not in hold.
It was like all those Argentine tango moves where he doubles,
like would double spin Whitney and then she dropped down
in between his legs like he was definitely leading that
and it just looks so powerful.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
And this is the thing.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
When I have someone with talent, like with Juan Pablo,
with Jille, I would make sure that they kind of
knew my steps as well, because if they know their
steps and then they know their partner steps, the man
can really lead.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
That's the key.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
And if you have the time to do it, if
if your partner is a quick learner, teach him your
steps as well, or at least teach him the direction
that you need to move so that he can really
lead it authentically and organically around the dance floor. The
judges gave Danny and Whitney a seven, six seven, and

(29:13):
again I gave them a six. Let's move on to
Tory Spelling and Pasha.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
A little backstory here.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
I think if you guys have heard the headlines and
Hot Topics episode, you'll know this story already. But Tory
has been asked to do Dancing with the Stars, I
think almost every season, and I think a year ago,
it was a year or two ago, maybe a year.
She asked me about this experience, and I just told her,
you know, it's an amazing experience, but make sure that

(29:42):
you only have this to work on because it is
very consuming, and if there's any drama happening anywhere else
in your life, hold off, wait till you you know,
fix whatever is going wrong, and do the show when
there is no drama, family drama. So I'm happy that

(30:03):
she has Pasha. She is truly in the best hands.
And I have said this and I'll say it again.
Pasha is for me, one of the best teachers, definitely
the most experienced out of the I would say out
of all the male pros, and the most patient and
just a good hearted man.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
He really is.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
He's just a good dude. So I can tell that obviously,
like and everybody else tonight, Tory is nervous, but again Pasha,
she looked out with him. So let's check out there foxtrot, okay,
Pasha and Tory. I love that she started out her
package saying that she's been asked to do the show

(30:44):
thirty two seasons, and I can concur I'm pretty sure
that is definitely correct, and I'm so happy regardless of
like the execution of the dance, the fact that she
is finally doing the show that is I'm telling you
right now, regardless of how long she lasts, she's gonna
just grow so much from this experience, and she's going

(31:05):
to have a positive experience because I know she's in
great hands with Pasha. They danced to Foxtrot, and first
of all, you could tell that she was really nervous,
but you couldn't tell at the same time because she
was just so giddy and so happy to be there.
And you can tell that she was just, first of all,
so happy that it was over, but really enjoying every moment,

(31:25):
and Pasha was definitely enjoying the moment with her, and
you could tell that he was really trying to control
her frame by really keeping his frame strong and I
think that eventually as the weeks go by, because you know,
she's not going anywhere. She's part of the nine oh
two to one to zero cult family and I was

(31:46):
a part of it when I dance with Ian and
I'm telling you they're loyal fans. So she's going to
be in this competition for a while. If she could
just for real trust Pasha and kind of like in
a way, be a chameleon to whatever her energy he's
giving her, Like you can tell he was solid, like
there was no if she was going to be off balance.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
He was very much.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Aware of where her weight was. If she could kind
of in a way tone it down. See, I don't really,
I guess agree with what Carrie Anne said, like she
wanted more from Tori. I think she needed to do
far less than what she executed. I think because she
was so happy, and mind you, this is the premiere,
like this is the first performance I saw where her

(32:31):
joy you couldn't even see the nerves. Maybe the nerves
did translate to her a joy, but for me, because
she was genuinely happy and present to be there, I
didn't even see anything other than her smile, And in
a way, it did cause for her energy and her

(32:51):
shoulders to rise up towards her ears instead of staying
rounded and all that energy that she had, if she
would have just transferred it down to the floor, it
would have been solid. And if she would have been
a little bit more like if she would have gelled
more with Pasha, like if Pasha and how grounded he is,
if she would have tried to match it and kind

(33:13):
of delayed her movement by just a fraction, it would
have been solid. I love that she is doing this,
and again, you know, this couple is going to be
around for a while, so I hope that she can
get past you know, the giddiness in a way and
really focus on the foundation so that it's not, you know, shaky.

(33:39):
When watching her, I think that this is a solid performance,
especially for toy for a week one. I give Pasha
and Tory a five. Jen Tran and Sasha are the
cutest ever if any if I'm rooting for anyone to
have a relationship. Okay, I know it sounds crazy because
they don't know each other. I know, I get it.
Cycle logically it's not healthy, but I really think these

(34:03):
two are adorable and I'm with Derek. They've got such
great chemistry. I really think they should get married and
have kids. Just say, anyway, let's get back to business here.
So I'm assuming these two must have not had a
lot of rehearsalul as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it
was similar to me and William Levey situation where we
had less than a week. I'm pretty sure that was

(34:25):
the case for them, So considering that execution of the
chacha was very, very good, I mean considering the fact
that they literally met at the airport on their way
to Good Morning America. So I'm assuming they had less
than a week because I'm sure they had to do
tons of interviews and they had to squeeze her in
for the promo shoots and everything. She needs to work

(34:48):
on moving forward, though, I do appreciate, and I have
to say I commented on her TikTok video when I
saw her wear a fringe skirt and Latin heels. That
is correct. These other couples need to take a note
because there's nothing like rehearsing in your heels and a
skirt that is similar to your actual costume. It just
makes a huge difference. She needs to work what it

(35:12):
is is her legs can't be straight if she's dancing
between two feet, So just working honestly, I know that
they didn't have the time to work in the foundation,
but if Sasha can just take one hour out of
rehearsal to just focus on how she looks moving from
foot to foot, like, have her do time steps, and

(35:33):
then have her take her free foot off the floor
so that she can feel what it feels like to
have one hundred percent weight onto one leg that will
automatically keep her legs straight, and then not to be
scared to settle her hip for balance into each foot.
I think when she starts to understand the importance of
not dancing in between two feet and only committing to

(35:57):
one foot, like one hundred percent of your weight onto
one leg, it'll be a huge difference moving forward. But
these two obviously, not only do they have great chemistry,
they've got great musicality. She's got a natural way of
moving her body. She just needs to understand the fundamentals.
Take one hour, just a teacher what it's like to

(36:18):
transfer her weight one from foot to foot, and that's
going to make such a huge difference. I'm still rooting
for these two. I still think they have the potential
to make it to the final. I give Sasha and
Jen a six. Let's see what the judges score them. Okay,
so the judges gave Jen and Sasha a seven six six.

(36:39):
Let's move on to the next couple. Holy hell, Brandon
Ann Chandler first of all, had off to Brandon. He
has never looked better as far as his movement goes
his frame. He effing nailed it. Good on you, Brandon

(37:01):
Armstrong and I couldn't be happier.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
And it's not because of Chandler. It's honestly it's Chandler
was amazing. Don't get me wrong, but holy hell, she
was better than so chee the oh my goodness. Like
meaning as far as like week one goes, this tango
was solid. Talk about like this was the first ballroom
dance that I saw tonight.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
I know this.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Everyone had a few tangos already, We've seen a few
Latin dances. But I this was no bullshit. They cut
through it. They had their moment in the beginning, and
they ran down the stairs and they went straight into
what this show is, which is a ballroom show. As
far as I'm concerned, Brandon nailed it, like wow. His

(37:46):
quality of movement alone was spectacular, which then made Chandler
just shine. Like I honestly, I didn't love the fact
that she was grinning from she had like such a
mile on her face, because tango's not supposed to be
all campy like that. But I didn't necessarily think that
their tango was campy. It's just this song itself obviously

(38:10):
wasn't like a sexy, steamy tango. But oh my god,
I am floored. Honestly, this was the best tango week
one I think in Dancing with the Star's history. I'm
not even kidding. Good on you, Brandon Armstrong. Seriously, keep
going like you kind of started a little too good,

(38:34):
but you can even continue on this trajectory and you're
gonna be the next Mirror Ball champion and well deserved
to be quite honest, this was the first ballroom dance
that I saw with quality. It had technique, like I
honestly couldn't say one thing, like I only watched it once.
Mind you, maybe I could have say she could have
done a couple more heel leads, but wow, this frame

(38:59):
was solid.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
This is a tango. Thank you for.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Repping the ballroom community the way it should be ripped.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Period.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
I give Brandon and Chandler a nine. I'm not kidding
like I don't care if it's a Week one.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
They deserve it.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Let's hear what the judges have to say, and let
me just add as far as going back to Brandon
and Chandler goes, I'm just saying this is they did
everything right. From the look her hair was slipped back.
She wore a great tango dress, though it could have
had a little bit more of a skirt. She was
rehearsing in a skirt and ballroom shoes, and wow, there

(39:41):
was no Honestly, there could have been a tornado in
the ballroom and these two would have still been just
fine doing what they were doing because they were so grounded.
I don't agree with Derek. She could have gotten lower.
They were pretty grounded. If anything, she could have used
more power from her standing legs to create more.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Of a heel lead.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
But wow, wow, wow, wow, good on you, Jesus Christ.
This was the best tango I would say as far
as Week one goes on this show, you made history.
Brandon Armstrong. Congratulations. Let's see what the judges scored them seven. Derek,
Oh hell no, that was not a seven. That was
not a seven like three eighths. Fine, the judges gave

(40:23):
them eight seven, eight, Like dude, you know that was
not a seven. That's all I'm saying. I still stick
by my nine. Dwight and Daniella, just like Tory's lucky
to have Pasha. Dwight, I'm telling you is lucky to
have Daniella. He is the tallest celeb ever at six eleven.

(40:45):
This was pure entertainment. This man has rhythm, and he's
a gentle giant like I would totally that is who
he is. He's a gentle giant who needs to learn
how to transfer his weight from foot to foot.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
I don't even.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Know what to expect when I have like a tango
or a quick step when you're not supposed to break hold,
but nowadays, who knows. I mean, honestly, this Selsa was
full of pure entertainment. He's got a lot of charisma
and all he did miss a couple of steps. He
was supposed to rock back, but before he did. The
grape vines, however, it is the first night. I mean,

(41:21):
they're definitely one of the pop out celebrities and dancers
of the night like couples other than Brandon and Chandler
for obvious reasons. But they are just the cutest together.
And Daniella has her work cut out for her for sure.
But I'm so happy that again Dwight got paired with
her because if anyone can handle a tall man, obviously

(41:42):
it's her. I just hope they get to that freestyle round.
But I think people are just gonna fall in love
with him because he is a gentle giant and he's
got so much entertainment value that it's kind of hard
to vote against him, to be quite honest, Like, out
of all the athletes that I've seen, I haven't seen
Steven yet and Riley, but he definitely is a standout

(42:05):
athlete out of all the two other athletes I saw
so far.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Wow, this is going to be a good competition. Guys.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
Really, the level of dance in the level of entertainment
is pretty high. So I'm very excited for the season.
I give Daniella and de White six. Let's hear what
the judges have to say. Okay, so the judges gave
them eight seven seven.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
I think it's a little high. I think that's Derek's
score as far as his highest that he's going to go,
because if you're not going to give Chandler an eight,
I don't know what's going on. But yeah, I mean
at the end of the day where the lifts great, yes,
but I'm actually, like, I truly hope that he attempts

(42:52):
to do proper ballroom and Latin at some point, Like
salsa was a perfect dance for them for week one.
I don't know if they had a lot of training
from what I've seen in the press, Like they didn't
get started until like I think after Good Morning America.
So I think it was similar to Jen and Sasha.

(43:13):
But as far as content goes in this alsa, like
we know Danny loves these lifts and she can definitely
she's a dare devil when it comes to that. But
I would love to see both feet on the ground
and I would love to see some substance moving forward.
But yeah, I mean, you can't take away from this
man's charisma. Holy hell, he just had everyone on their
feet like he was pure entertainment and again he lucked

(43:37):
out with Daniella. Cannot wait to see what this couple
has in store for us moving forward, and if I can,
definitely like I would rally behind this couple if they
just do a solid, technically sound whatever ballroom or Latin
dance they're assigned to next. I think that he can

(43:57):
do it. He just has to put the time and
effort into it, which I'm sure he will. He's an athlete,
for God's sakes. Anyway, let's move on to the next couple.
We're almost here, guys at the end, so stay with me. Okay,
So we've got Britt and Eric Roberts. I mean, he's
a legend. He was asked to do Dancing with the
Stars from the very first season back in two thousand

(44:18):
and six, but due to a conflict, he wasn't able
to do it. He got in a huge, I guess
car accident, So right away you kind of know, Okay,
he's going to be limited as far as like what
he'll be able to do as far as movement goes.
I mean, they look really cute together. The only thing
is just, first of all, can it please be illegal

(44:40):
to do any choreography on this walkway like it is?
It honestly should never happened, Like even Chandler and Brandon, like,
there's only one or two things you can do off
the runway right or off the walkway, which is run
down the stairs, which just looks like a hot mess regardless,
or to try and do some sort of timing and
choreography which always just looks stagnant and looks like, okay,

(45:03):
can we get on with it already now, shout out
to the band. They're amazing. I mean, it's because of
the band and the singers, like it's what saved honestly,
this couple and as far as the entertainment value goes.
But he was completely off time, The musicality was completely off.
Britt was trying to get him back on, and there

(45:24):
were moments like when they were about to do the
Cuban breaks, they did like two slow moments and they
actually did look quite strong, and he was definitely following
brit and her timing, which needs to happen if he
you know, everyone's going to make it through to the
next week. But I think it's important with any celebrity.
If you guys are hearing this, the pro knows best.

(45:47):
So if you for some reason are unsure about timing
or musicality within the step, just surrender to your pro
because your pro will get you back on. Don't try
and take control of the situation. There's you guys that
don't have enough experience to do so. And it was
so cute to see his wife. You know, they have
been fans of the show. In their package, you saw

(46:09):
him and his wife watching one of the episodes of
Dancing with.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
The Stars from the past.

Speaker 1 (46:13):
His wife was super emotional and this is an emotional time,
you know, when you step into a show and a
machine like Dancing with the Stars for the thirty third season,
there's a lot to live up too. And I hope
that you know, every season's a new season. There is
no pressure, that's all in our head, right like, you
just need to go out there and do your best.

(46:34):
And considering you know, what he's been through as far
as you know, physically goes, he did a solid job.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (46:43):
I do believe though unfortunately, Britt and Eric might be
the first couple to be eliminated. I give Britt and
Eric a four. Let's hear what the judges have to
say and their scores. The judges gave Britt and Eric
three fives. They Britt seemed very happy I do want

(47:05):
to add that Britt did a damn good job with him.
I mean, I know it's she's limited with obviously what
he can do, but she's such a great positive influence
on everybody, honestly, and she's just refreshing to watch. She's gorgeous,
and honestly, I don't think Eric would have been paired
with anybody better than with Britt. He's blessed to have Brit.

(47:28):
You can tell that she just has so much heart
regardless of who her partner is. Like. She hasn't had
an easy time on her on this show as a pro,
that's for sure. She's definitely had all different types of celebrities.
And anyway, I just want to say that she looks gorgeous,
and she did a solid routine and included all of

(47:51):
the fundamentals that needed to be included in a chacha.
And she definitely tried, you know, and at the end
of the day, it's out of our control. I'm pretty
sure he did. He must have done this routine better
at some point or else she would have made it
even easier. But look, she even tried to attempt locksteps.
She did different timings within the within the Cuban breaks

(48:15):
like she she really, you know, mapped it out perfectly
for him, and sometimes you know, this is the beauty
of a live show or not. It's what you see
is what you get, you know. So I hope that
you know, people rally behind him, and like the Joja said,
he's a huge He's a huge star in celebrity, so
the show's lucky to have him. Hopefully he gets a

(48:36):
couple more weeks. Let's move on to the next couple.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
Valen Phaedra.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
I have to say, she's got such a huge personality.
I was hoping if anyone from Traders was going to
be on the season, it was going to be her.
And well, uh, I have to say, the creative didn't
match the performance. Like I understand that they wanted to
somehow recreate Traders, you know, because she was a Trader.

(49:03):
It would have done better if it were like a
tango or a Pasa doblay it. Just like, I don't know,
I don't know if they're gonna get called out for
the lift because technically there's no lifts, you know, Carrian's
the lift master, so it was it was odd, Like
I wish they would have saved that moment to make
more of the moment of traders with more of a
dramatic dance. I you know, it just was a super

(49:25):
random anyway. I also wish that maybe val was one
of the traders, like with one of the hooded I
don't know, don't know, don't don't understand that creative. It
was kind of like just throw it in there, just
to throw it in there. And I hate that her
personality is so overwhelming, but in a good way, Like
I just she is all woman, and I love the

(49:47):
song that she chose as her anthem song. I just
hope that Phaedra stays positive and understands that this show
is to be taken at one step at a time
and to really hone in on the detail. She's got
so much musicality. She literally, like Alona could actually take

(50:08):
a couple notes from Faedra performance, because you could tell
Faedra really owns the woman that she is like from
the inside out and that exudes on the dance floor
right that she doesn't question her build, she doesn't question
her confidence. She is an overachiever clearly, and I just
hope that she stays positive. But also she puts in

(50:31):
the work that this show takes and it does take
a lot of work, and it's really all in the details.
They messed up on the timing a little bit, and
I just wonder if maybe the first part of the
routine could have been less challenging. There's no need to
put syncopations like I don't. It's interesting because I haven't
seen Valve in a while, at least with somebody who

(50:53):
he has to, like, yes, challenge, but he also has
to dumb it down, like he just came off a
season with someone like So maybe syncopations isn't something to
do week one, you know, when she was doing the
basic chatcha movement from the middle of their routine till
the end, she nailed it. And he I love that
he put in some moments of like groove steps where

(51:15):
Phedra was really able just to you know, get out
of her head and just showcase the way that she moves,
which is very natural.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Honestly.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
I just you know, sometimes what I see with celebrity women,
especially with like strong male professionals, they can get easily
intimidated and they don't want to mess up because they're
so scared to let their pro down mess up. Girl
you're not gonna let Val down. Honestly, there's no such
thing as perfection. I think it's important that you have

(51:46):
the freedom to mess up because this is natural. Like
we're not perfect, the pros aren't perfect. Like it's okay
to do that and just forgive yourself and move on,
you know, And she did. She did just that. She
has a lot of potent. I hope that she really
hones in though, on learning the choreography as soon as possible,
so that they can work on the detail, you know,

(52:08):
when it's needed, which is, you know, as soon as possible.
You want to learn that routine forward and backwards the
first day you're being given the choreography, whatever you have
to do to retain that information, whether it's write it down,
study your video, literally write it backwards and forwards so
that we can move on and really hone in on

(52:30):
the detail. As far as like moving your weight from
foot to foot. You're in great hands. She's in such
great hands with Val that I think it's important not
just to get the steps and then think you're done, Like,
get the steps as soon as possible. That's that's my note. Anyway,
I give Valen Phedra a six. Let's hear what the
judges have to say. Okay, krri Ann loved and I

(52:53):
have to say I agree with carry Ann because Carrianne
said exactly what I said. She owned the woman that
she is and she there was nothing, there was no
holding back whatsoever. Carrie Anne, Derek and Bruno gave them
a seven six six. Let's move on to our last
two couples.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
WHOA.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
I had to watch this drive routine from Riley and
Stephen a few times actually, and I'm just happy that
Riley has somebody with potential. You know, you can tell
she's hungry and she wants somebody who you know, is
willing to put in the work. And also she's I
could tell by the way that she was training him

(53:34):
that even if it's not perfect, as long as that
as long as he shows up and he's a hard
worker and has potential, she's happy. Look, the timing was
off in the beginning. It was a little too out
of control. This is what is going to be the
challenge with these two is to find the maturity through movement, right,
Like I'd be interesting to see him do a rumba

(53:56):
or even like a tango ballroom tango. I can see
right away too. He might have issues with his posture,
but let me start off with the positives. First of all,
this man is super flexible, He's got energy for days,
and he's gonna only get better. So this is gonna
be for me, not a clear finalist yet, but definitely

(54:17):
the dark horse, okay, for sure, and he's only gonna
work harder and harder, because I'm telling you, this season,
as far as dance ability goes, is pretty it's high,
you know, And I think this is what is going
to be exciting. It's not so much like the names
or whatever, it's the actual quality and the level of

(54:37):
dance actually is starting off really strong. Like there's not
one I mean, no, just kidding, there's not. There's a
clear winner already in my eyes, which is Chandler and
Brandon if they continue on this trajectory. But it's not
how you start, it's how you finish. These two are
perfectly paired. So I take that back. I thought for
sure he would have been better with a Whitney, but maybe,

(54:58):
you know, I can also see him with a Whitney
because Whitney would teach him more maturity and having to
you know, not just go Go Go, but this jive
was a perfect number for them to start with, or
dance style to start with. Now, just a couple of notes.
He has to kick. Stephen needs to kick from the
knee down like when he would do his jive kicks

(55:21):
he would just kick the leg out and he has
to point his toes. The fact that he is so
flexible is awesome, but with the flexibility, you see it
all so he has to point his toes from his ankles.
He also needs to work on timing and breathing throughout
the routine. But Riley has so much to work with here.

(55:45):
He has a natural hump in his back, which is
obviously I would say from you know, pommel his pommel
horse thing that he does. I don't know if I'm
saying that right, but he really needs to work in
a way I guess straightening his spine like and almost
pinching his shoulder blades together like exaggerating that. I think

(56:07):
these two are just hopefully gonna get better and better.
I I I'm not gonna make a judgment as far
as like finalists or any of it yet because I
need to see everybody's in both styles, both ballroom and
Latin he's gonna be great in like jazz if they're
doing that this season and contemporary like he's gonna kill it.

(56:28):
I think what could actually if they don't work on
more of a foundation, like, for example, the jive tick
was missing. He did the kicks, but then he didn't
do the rebound from a standing leg. But look, such
a huge gap from Riley's partner Harry Jousey last season.
This guy, and they're gonna just if anything, they're gonna

(56:50):
beat everybody when it comes to work ethics. So I
wouldn't count them out. I give Riley and Steven a seven.
Let's see what the judges gave them. Okay, the judge
just gave them all sevens, giving them a twenty one
out of thirty. Let's move on to the last couple
and the most controversial, Ezra and Anna. Okay, so obviously

(57:15):
they left Anna Delvi and Ezra for last, considering all
of the controversy surrounding Anna. First of all, I just
want to congratulate Ezra for becoming a pro and honestly,
he's got his work cut out for him. I really
believe that. Let's just talk technicalities first before I talk

(57:39):
about the psychological way that I hope that she approaches
this show to really open up people's minds and maybe
hearts into giving her a chance, right like, and Carrie
Anne kind of said it. You know, the energy shifted
big time. I don't know if I would have put

(58:01):
them last if I were the showrunner because of the controversy.
It's hard to I guess it's hard to root for
somebody who doesn't really show a lot of emotion. I
would love to see her, whether that be angry, happy, nervous,

(58:22):
sad like nerves, crying, you know, like something has to
give here in order for her to have a shot
or even just forget the result. It's more about changing
people's I guess perception of Anna Delvey. Like I said
in previous episodes of this podcast, I listened to her
whole interview on Call Her Daddy and with Alex Cooper,

(58:47):
and she had a solid hour to really try and
get in there with Anna, and she did. I mean, like,
but Anna didn't give her anything to work with, meaning like,
I left that interview listening to it with no compassion
for this woman. And I know that there are like
we're human, She's not a robot, right like, there's got

(59:07):
to be feelings under there somewhere. And this is why
I kind of was wishing that Anna was paired with Val,
because Val understands the psychology behind the show. And poor
Ezra for his first season, you know, he really not
only has to deal with all of this press and
attention for the very first time, but he also has
to somehow crack her open. And yet this is his

(59:31):
first season too, you know, so I'm sure in a
weird way, it's cracking him open even more, Like the
interview she did with Julienne could have been more than
just a couple of word answers that she gave, right.

Speaker 2 (59:44):
It just she's.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
Continuing to leave a bad taste in people's mouths because
she's not willing to be vulnerable. And unfortunately, with a
show like this, you either are trusting the process and
are will to go for it, or you're not and
you're trying to be cool, or you're trying to think
like I'm trying to reinvent myself. But just do the work,

(01:00:08):
because the reinventing of yourself will happen, I promise if
you just focus on what is ahead, which is your
next dance, right and really dissecting it and trying hard
like she actually has potential. She's got great leg action.
She did a telemark that looked really sleek and good.
My I guess my advice for Ezra is just to

(01:00:30):
keep it as basic as possible. Don't do any like
I didn't know what was going on with the creative
again for this, I mean I understood it, but like
did she did Ezra's reaction when she was walking down
the stairs.

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Was that choreographed or was that like an actual mistake.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
It just was gibberish to me. This woman can dance,
and I'm not kidding. She's off balance because of this freakin'
ankle bracelet thing, whatever it is. She either needs to
put another one on or whatever costume have to be
clever with balancing her out, because I'm telling you it's
not easy. I can only imagine how much I wonder
how much that thing weighs because it's making her lopsided

(01:01:09):
and off balance. She also needs to change her expression
up a little bit, like she has all the tools,
like naturally, her leg extension is great. She is actually
very aware of her body. But I think she needs
to also stop reading the press.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
I know that's hard.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
I don't think I would have ended the premiere night
on such a low and that's not because of her,
just because of the audience's reaction. I wish that they
would have ended with Stephen and Riley and would have
put them second to last instead of the last couple. Anyway,
I give Ezra and Anna a six. Let's see what

(01:01:50):
the judges scored them. Okay, the judges gave them a
six sixty six m and Julianne tried again, just like,
what what are you most happy about? After accomplishing whatever
their first dance, and she goes, I'm just happy that
it's over.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Anyway, this is what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Like, as funny and dry as it is, most of
America I don't think will relate to her. So I'm
hoping Ezra or somebody cracks her open because she is human,
She's not a robot. There is a heart in there somewhere,
right like I wish in a way the nerves would
create a little bit more emotion. Anyway, this was overall,

(01:02:30):
I would say my overall thoughts of the premiere it
was way better for me than last season by far.
I don't know if it was because it was a
half hour Alfonso mentioned that it was thirty minutes less.
As far as time goes, I don't know. It's not
the length it really truly is. I'm excited for this season, honestly,
I have to say the quality of dancing. Each couple

(01:02:52):
has their own thing, and it's going to be a
tough competition. There is still no clear winner because as
far as I'm concerned, until I see them do both,
I can't really judge. But it's going to be close.
I really believe that. And I think if I were
to just say who's going to be eliminated first, I think, unfortunately,
it's going to be Eric Roberts and Britt But I
could be completely wrong, because at the end of the day,

(01:03:14):
the demographic of Dancing with the Stars love Eric Roberts.
I'm pretty sure of it. It could be Anna Deelvi,
but it's Ezra's first season, so I'm hoping it's not.
But I just don't see from like you can kind
of gauge like as far as like votes go, or
as far as like people's favorite couple by the live audience,
and I have to say, Wow, that was just a

(01:03:35):
Debbie downer and people are not happy about her being
on the show. So the only way though that she
can change people's minds is if she shows emotion.

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
This is key. It's key, so.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Ezra get a therapist in that room if you can. Anyway,
Thank you guys and let me know your thoughts on
this review. Don't forget to rate, review, view, and subscribe.
We dropped three episodes a week and our next guest
that I'm interviewing is the amazing Kate Flannery, who was
Pasha's very first celebrity partner. I've got so much to

(01:04:12):
talk to her about, and thank you until next time.
