(00:25):
Verse one. Dear Lord, I pray that you would set
a guard over my heart to night when bitterness balls
up within me, settled me down and put me on
higher ground. I pray that I would rest assured that
justice is yours and that I do not need to
(00:47):
fight against foolish people. Ease my troubled mind and make
me content in you. Relieve me from this burden of
bitterness and release that anchor of animosity. I want to
sleep soundly, free from frenetic anger. Repute me when my
(01:15):
heart bends toward hatred. Comfort me with your disciplining rod
and guiding staff. I trust said tomorrow will bring new
challenges and opportunities to lean on your grace and extend
that grace to others. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Hello, I'm Grace for tonight's sleep song. Bye pray dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm one hundred and forty one.
Lie down flat on your back, relax your neck and shoulders,
rest your hands by your side. Look up at the ceiling,
(03:03):
and choose a focal point to help you focus your
mind on God's word. Take a deep breath through your nose,
feel your belly rise to the ceiling. Hold your breath
for a few seconds. Exhale through your mouth and feel
your belly relax as your abdomen pushes the air into
(03:24):
your body. Breathe in and out slowly. Concentrate on your
focal point. Picture God sitting above you. Fix your eyes
on the Lord. Know he will give you strength to
help you face each day, and He will give you
peace to help you rest each night. With your next inhale,
(03:50):
lift up your fears and worries to Him with your next, exhale,
release any anxious thoughts, and open your mind to hear
God's word. Every day we face temptation to follow the
ways of the world rather than the ways of God.
To night, find strength and wisdom in the Lord to
(04:14):
keep you on the path of life and peace. Psalm
one hundred forty one from the King James version says, Lord,
I cry unto thee, make haste unto me, Give ear
unto my voice. When I cry unto thee. Let my
prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and the
(04:35):
lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set
a watch, o Lord, before my mouth. Keep the door
of my lips incline not my heart to any evil thing,
to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity, and
let me not eat of their dainties. Let the righteous
(04:56):
smite me. It shall be a kindness, and let him
reprove me it shall be an excellent oil, which shall
not break my head. For yet my prayer also shall
be in their calamities. When their judges are overthrown in
stony places, they shall hear my words, for they are sweet.
(05:16):
Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth. And when
one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. But mine
eyes are unto thee O God. The Lord in thee
is my truest. Leave not my soul destitute. Keep me
from thy snares which they have laid for me, and
the gins of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked
(05:38):
fall into their own nets, whilst that I will thou escape.
Meditating on God's word helps us discern what is right
and wrong in our world, and it helps us know
how to navigate the road of temptation to night. Find
power and comfort in God's truth to help you walk
(05:59):
in his way, Light and love, and rest in His
power and presence. Take a deep breath. Ask the Lord
to fill your mind with his thoughts, and your body
and heart with his truth and love. Exhale slowly and
listen for his voice. Listen for the spirit of truth
(06:22):
to lead you down the path of life and peace,
where you will find satisfaction and rest for your soul.
Breathe in and out slowly. Rest in the presence of
the Lord. Allow his power to rest upon you, strengthening
you to face the temptation of tomorrow. Take refuge in
(06:45):
the Lord. Feel the might of his hands uphold you
during the day and sustain you through the night. Think
of a time when you rejected a fellow Christian's or
a loved one's advice when they were speaking God's truth
into your life. Confess any sin, Confess any resentment you
(07:07):
have towards this person. Repent of any ways that do
not align with the word of God. Take a deep breath.
Allow God's forgiveness to wash away your sin. Exhale slowly
and allow His love to flow through you, removing your
shame and filling you with his grace and truth. Be
(07:31):
transformed by the renewing of your mind in His word.
Think of a time when God transformed your life with
his truth and grace. Thank Him for saving you from
the destruction of sin. Thank Him for delivering you from
the evil one. Thank him for redeeming you with his salvation.
(07:52):
Think of a person who is struggling with some type
of addiction. Pray God will deliver them from the evil one.
Pray he will fill them with his strength so they
can throw off everything that hinders their relationship with him.
Pray he will rescue them with his love and grace
and restore them with his salvation. Call upon the Lord
(08:16):
for his help, and he will come to your rescue.
Tell him about your struggles, lift up your troubles. Know
he will help you and deliver you. Pray for the
Lord to lead you away from the temptation in this world.
Pray you will not fall. Pray to the wicked schemes
(08:37):
of the devil. Pray for the Lord to open your
mind and soften your heart to take the wise advice
of fellow Christians. Pray you will accept the teachings and
correcting of scripture. Pray for the Lord to protect you
and your family as you sleep. Pray you will rest
(08:59):
in His peace throughout the night. Breathe in and out slowly,
find peace in the presence of the Lord. Find strength
in his hands. Close your eyes and allow his peace
to refresh you and his strength to restore you as
(09:20):
you sleep tonight.
