On today’s episode, Jason discusses how the New York Giants blowout loss to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football helped to shake up the top of the NFL Draft order, why there's such a strong groundswell for Drake Maye to win the NFL MVP award, which teams make the most sense for Survivor in NFL Week 14, whether Notre Dame or Miami (FL) is more deserving of a spot in the College Football Playoff, and why this year would have been the perfect season to launch an expanded CFP field.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is straight fire with Jason McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
What is up drink fire by them?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
It's me Jason McIntyre. Straight ball year for.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Tuesday, December the second and uh Monday night football is
not a good one.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Not for your boy.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
I was in first place, tied with a few other
guys in this picks pool. I've made a massive charge
over the last six weeks. I know these guys, all
these guys in this pickpool, all they do is pick favorite.
So they had a big lead and now they're shrinking.
So I'm like, oh, I know what I'll do. I'll
just go with the I'll go Giants. I'll take the Giants.
I thought I had a chance. I had the Giants

(00:45):
in the contest, and you know, Jackson darts back.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Maybe things go my way.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Holy hell, fricking giants. So they give up a punt
return touchdown in the first quarter. In the second quarter,
they're lining up for a field goal to cut it
to seventeen to ten. Young Wayku, he glitched. He hit
the ground like I don't know, eight inches before the football.
People were throwing up Charlie Brown memes. It was embarrassing.

(01:14):
I've never seen that. So they have to swallow it.
It was like, honestly, a first I've never seen a
kicker just straight up like missed the ball like Duffet
shank it. Whatever. It was embarrassing. And then the Patriots
come down and score. So then on the next kickoff
gutter Olshewski, Oh my gosh, he gets factory resetted. And

(01:36):
I'm just telling you, guys, this was a pulverizing hit.
It was so hard it was helmet to helmet. I
don't understand how that could be a funnell if it's
a helmet to helmet or is that just a college
football rule? What the hell NFL? What the helly as
my kid say? Anyways, like part of his helmet chipped off,
he drops the football instantly because he got concussed. Patriots
get a field goal, and then they get another field

(01:58):
goal after three and out thirty to ugh at the half,
there was a glimmer of hope from the Giants to
get the cover seven and a half, but it'd never
been terialized.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Patriots win.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
This whole Kafka thing, Like bro, I don't know, this
was embarrassing. Giants could do nothing right. Jackson Dart apparently
didn't learn anything from his last concussion, decide, oh, let
me run up the sideline. It's I believe, only second down,
and he's two yards short of the first down. But
instead of just ducking out of bounds and living to
play another day, he gets molly wopped. And then his

(02:31):
teammate Theo Johnson, who apparently is his best buddy of
the team, is right there and was so angry at
the hit he takes out the Patriots guy fifteen yard
penalty replay show. Of course, it's actually not any legal hit.
You know why, because Dart didn't try to get out
of bounce.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
He was in bounce.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Like Jackson, Dart learned nothing from his last concussion. Giants
get smoked. They remain in the mix for the number
one pick. Patriots moved to eleven and two, and we
touched on it yesterday. This NFL is just crazy. I mean,
it is absolutely bonkers. How the top two teams in
the AFC are Patriots and Broncos. Like, let that sink

(03:14):
in Patriots and Broncos. Patriots getting a bye is kind
of sort of big. I still don't know how dangerous
this team is actually. And the Patriots, let's see, they
have a bye. Yeah, I think they have a bye
next week. Yeah, Patriots, Giants, Niners, Panthers. So you get
the late by if you're the Patriots, which is basically

(03:37):
stealing a week for Will Campbell in the left side
of your offensive line, which you know both were down
in this one. And I'll be honest Giants, I expected
them to get pressure with Burns Thibodeaux, nothing like Listen
Rabels got his act together. And I don't know if
Drake BA can win the MVP, but I don't know

(03:59):
who else is gonna win it. There's nobody on the
Broncos who's gonna win the MVP. There's nobody on the Jaguars,
there's nobody on the Ravens. Herbert just had surgery today,
unclear if he's even gonna play. He ain't winning the MVP.
That you could just shelve the Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor
pipe dreams, Josh Allen is not winning the MVP. They're seven,
they might not even make the playoffs. So then you

(04:20):
go to the NFC and it's like, it's not Caleb Williams.
You're not giving a to Kyle Manongane or whatever his
name is.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
He's awesome. At Fantasy.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
By the way, the whole Stafford thing.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
You know, he's coming off three turnovers, pretty bad loss
in Carolina, will see. I mean, he's if he's the
best player on the number one team in the NFC,
maybe you give it to him. Nobody on the Eagles,
nobody on the Bucks. Sam Darnold, give me a break.
I mean, Jordan Love. If the Packers can steal the
number one seed, I just I don't know, is Drake
May gonna get the I mean, it's crazy to say,

(04:53):
but this just shows how little value there is in
the MVP award. It is essentially what they do in
the NBA too. The best player on the best team.
It doesn't mean you're the best, it's just you're on
the best team. Now, obviously May has been instrumental in that.
But the Patriots just getting a major break with the
late bye. It is interesting. I talked about it yesterday.

(05:16):
This Patriots late by forty nine ers late by. So
they come out of the by and they will face
the Buffalo Bills at home. That is for the division
and probably for the number one seed. They have to
go to Baltimore and the Jets still and then they
wrap up with the Dolphins. I don't think the Dolphins
will be alive then. But here's the other wacky thing.

(05:38):
When you look at the standings, and I'm just putting
this out there, I'm not betting any of it. But
if I told you the Indianapolis Colts were going to
miss the playoffs, would you would have laughed? I mean,
they at least see what the schedule is.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
So they were seven and one.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
The Colts were seven and one. They've lost three or four.
Now they are going to Jacksonville this week. Jags are
I think one and a half point dogs. Here's what's interesting.
Sauce Gardner calfstrain. They're saying his achilles is fine, he
ain't planned. I would predict Sauce Gardners out for at
least two more weeks at least. Okay, Then you look

(06:20):
at the Daniel Jones alleged broken leg, like, I don't
know how he's playing. It's really unclear. I mean, they're
in a free fall, and I don't think the Jags
defense is great. But at some point you gotta be like,
oh man, are we not good? Does Daniel Jones have
to do too much from the pocket? I don't know
let's say to get by the Jags, Colts still have
to visit the Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
That's a loss.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Host the Niners.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
That's gonna be a tough one.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Jags again, and then the Texans. I mean, if the
Colts lost out, I would not be shocked. And then
they finish eight nine and you're like, oh my gosh,
we went all in for sauce and now re Membory.
The Jets get the Colts draft pick. So much for
that being in the late twenties. Huh huh, all of
a sudden listen. So so, these are just things to
ponder this week. I'm I'm not saying any of this

(07:08):
is actionable, but think about it. Colts to miss the playoffs,
that's an interesting bet. Texans to win the division. Obviously,
they have to beat the Chiefs this week. That's a
tough one. Chargers to miss the playoffs. They're eight and four,
they're sitting pretty the reality Herbert's got surgery. And listen
to this schedule versus the Eagles at so far, that

(07:32):
is going to be a pro.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Eagles crowd.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Foresuore.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Okay, if you're in Philadelphia and you can get to
LA in early December.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
You're taking that weekend.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I I mean, I think Herbert tries to give it
a go. But if he tries to give it a
go and gets hurt, forget the season.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
It's over.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Or Trey Lance ain't taken anywhere. So it's Eagles at
Kansas City. This is for the Chargers at Dallas versus
the Texans at the Broncos. All of those teams are
five hundred are better, and the worst team is the
Chiefs at five hundred. So if we're being honest, you
could bet the Chargers and the Colts boast amidst the

(08:14):
playoffs and I wouldn't be mad at it. It seems
like Dallas is gonna make the playoffs. I think Detroit
at seven and five is in major jeopardy.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
How crazy is this? Best point differentials in the NFC Rams,
Oh sorry, Seahawks won thirty three. Rams won twenty four
lions plus seventy six. A lot of it had to
do with the thirty point beat down of the Bears.
Then packers. I mean, NFC's crazy. The Bucks at seven

(08:55):
and five have a minus twenty two point differential. The
Lions at seven and five plus US seventy six. That's
a ninety eight point swing. What are we doing this season?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Is crazy?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
None of it makes sense. I mean, honestly, I don't
know what. I think the Lions probably missed. I think
the Bucks are gonna be okay.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
But guys, this just.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Speaks to how bonkers things are now. Is this good
or bad? If nobody's good, do we care that much?
I mean, I obviously care about the gambling and fantasy.
I'm in the fantasy playoffs. Oh, by the way, crummy
news on the fantasy front, guys. So I went four
and oh with my son. I think that's back to

(09:38):
back four and oh weeks. So I needed twelve from
the Patriots kicker. He got fifteen, so I got to
win there. So my son comes out of the ashes,
makes the playoffs okay, playoffs are next week. Unbelievably, he

(09:59):
has Christian k so no semac in the playoffs. I mean,
as the I'm actually the commissioner of my son's league,
just helping the mountain stuff as the organizer, and I
that sound me right. You cannot have a bye week
in the playoffs like that is insanity. So he has

(10:19):
no Christian Robinson and no booty from the Patriots. Luckily
he has a deep bench, David Montgomery Wood, he marks
DJ Moore, He's got some options. But Semac is a machine,
just a horse, and I don't know if anybody else
is in that situation, but kind of crappy for my son. Anyways,

(10:41):
one other quick thing before we pivot to this college
football nonsense. So I did look at Survivor. Me and
my buddy are like super into it. I think we're
down to one forty seven, one thirty seven something like that.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Teams left.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
This will be.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
One of the toughest weeks.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I think this is probably the toughest week because of
all the close spreads. The biggest spreads are Seahawks seven
and a half at Atlanta. I think that's an amazing teaser.
Leg I think the best teaser this week is Packers
and Seahawks by far. That's a bet that I've already made.
But I don't think many people have the Seahawks left.
They were I think the most picked this week in

(11:21):
the Minnesota game, Buffalo's minus six against the Bengals, but
Buffalo has a lot of injuries and Cincinnati is playing
for keeps. We'll see if T Higgins is back from
the concussion. Ah, I don't know that. I'm definitely laying
that with Buffalo, and I would not touch him in
Survivor going against Burrow in Survivor. Come on, there's got

(11:42):
to be better options. There's Titans, Browns, Crap, Commanders, Vikings,
backup quarterback Fest, Saints Bucks. Not many people have the
Bucks left. I think that's probably where we're leaning. You know, Sam,
it's a division game, but if you look back historically,
Rahie Morris has owned and I mean owned the Saints.

(12:04):
Tampa Bay for whatever reason. Under Baker has just dominated.
The Saints easily got him earlier this season. So to me,
that's the one layup. Can't do Colts Jags. I don't
think you can do Ravens, Steelers, Broncos at Raiders. The
problem with that one is I don't think anybody has
Denver left. They've had so many easy layup games. You're

(12:25):
not doing Packers Bears, and I don't think anybody has
Packers left, Rams, Cardinals, nobody has Rams left. A lot
of people used them last week actually had lost and
then Chiefs Texans. So there's only one to three spreads
four over seven and a half. But how many people
have those teams left? So I don't know man survivor.
It's getting down to the nitty gritty. I'm excited, fired up.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Now.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
What I'm less excited about is this college football nonsense.
So tonight college Football will reveal the new playoff rankings. Okay,
I gotta be honest with you. I don't understand all
the hullabaloo.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Goshullabaloo is such a good word.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
My biggest issue with people clamoring for Notre Dame to
get shoved out because it lost to Miami is are
you taking everything into context?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
And most of the people are not. They're just saying.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Notre Dame lost to Miami on August thirty first, Yes,
in August, and that should end the discussion. Okay, So
if we're being real, Ohio State it's a lock.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Indiana is a lock.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
They'll meet in the Big Ten title game, even the
loser is a shorter playoff birth Texas Tech is in
if they lose to BYU. I still think they have
I don't think anybody's I think they're pretty. I mean,
they're a double digit favorite in the BYU game. I
think Texas Tech is gonna be fine if they lose.
They're still in Oregon, they're in the clubhouse, Notre Dame.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
They're done Georgia.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
They play Alabama in the SEC title game, I'll give
out the pick here. I mean, I listen, I don't
There's no way I can take Georgia here.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
I'm sorry, I just can't.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Mean. They're playing in the Georgia Dome, right, and they're
only two and a half.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
What they've been on a roll. Alabama's been sluggish.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Why is this only two and a half?

Speaker 4 (14:25):
You know why?

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Because I think because everybody's gonna be on Bama. I'm
gonna be I already bet Bama, and I think Georgia's
a lock if it gets in. Now, the real question
is what happens if Alabama gets blasted. Let's say Georgia
wins forty to ten. Probably won't happen, but it could.
Does Alabama then get bypassed for a Notre Dame of

(14:46):
Miami someone else?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Potentially?

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I don't Texas A and M's in even though Texas
A and m you know, they were undefeated almost all
the way, just lost to Texas, did not look good.
They're fugazi, but they're in. And then there's Miami.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
What do you do with Miami? What do you do
with Vanderbilt? So the s what is this called?

Speaker 2 (15:10):
There's a college football ranking called sp plus, which is
intended to be predictive and forward facing. It has Ohio
State one, Indiana two, Notre Dame five, Miami nine. Okay,
now you go through all these things. Basically Notre Dame
has Miami in every single category. But of course on

(15:33):
the herd we had we did some talk around Mario
Christobal basically campaigning for his team to get in, and
we didn't get to Texas. By the way, they want
to see it at the table, and it's becoming one
of these We'll wait a second. If we're playing good
teams and we're winning and it doesn't matter, why are
we even playing good teams?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Fair point?

Speaker 2 (15:55):
And now if you're Texas in sark and you're like, well,
actually we played a good team, we lost, and it's
gonna cost us a shout at the playoffs just because
we lost to a good team. Oh, why don't we
just play nobody going forward. And he Shark's got a
good point. I mean, Texas played a tough schedule. You know,

(16:17):
you play the SEC and then you're.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Willing to go to Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Like, it's a.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Very credible argument.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Why are we playing these very difficult teams if they
don't matter? And I don't totally have an answer to that. Now.
They did also play San Jose State and UTEP and
Sam Houston, But I mean they played Ohio State, Oklahoma, Vandy, Georgia,
and A and M. That is five teams that were

(16:45):
ranked in the top ten. For what it's worth, Ohio
State has played one top ten team and that's Texas.
Now they will play Indiana next. Indiana played one top
ten team and that's Oregon. Oh I'm sorry what Illinois
was nine when they played, but they were clearly a

(17:06):
fraudule at nine.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
They lost sixty three to ten.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
I do like the discussion about Miami against Notre Dame
simply because I have no dog in the fight. Obviously,
I liked both franchises.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
I was a huge.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Miami Hurricanes fan back of the day. I was a
big Notre Dame fan back in the day. I played
on mensley hoops teams with the guy who played quarterback
at Notre Dame. I one of my best friends fro
childhood played another sport at Notre Dame, like I talked
to him regularly. They don't seem to think there's any
issue with the Irish getting snubbed.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Then the question becomes, well, Jay, why do you hate Miami?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
And I'm like, I don't.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
They lost as a double digit favorite to SMU. They
lost as a double digit favorite at.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Home to Louisville.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
I mean, at least Notre Dame's losses are to A
and I know at home by one A and m
was undefeated and ranked number three a week ago, and
then to Miami on the road and their quarterbacks first
ever college football start. So I don't think they're equal.
I actually I don't think there's much of a discussion,
And honestly, I'm of the belief that the committee will

(18:19):
agree with me. So I went and looked at just
a couple of gambling sites. I'll say I'm here. I
usually don't say the sports book unless they're paying me,
and DraftKings and FanDuel or not. That being said, if
you go look at to make the college football playoff.
On both of those, Notre Dame is an overwhelming favorite.

(18:43):
It's not even close. So to make the college football playoff,
Notre Dame at DraftKings is minus four hundred, Miami is
plus six hundred. So if you really believe it's got
to be Miami, it should be Miami. Go bet them.
You make a lot of money. Now the market is
telling you Miami ain't got no shot. At the same time,

(19:06):
you're like, well, what about results?

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Could that impact things?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
In a crazy twist, Miami did not play Duke or Virginia,
the team's meeting in the college foot in the a
SEC title game. So this is just some very weird
stuff going on in college football. With the Miami fans.
I know they feel left out. This isn't quite FSU

(19:35):
with their quarterback situation. It's just it's just not the same.
There was a that was a fourteen playoff and frankly,
if anything.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (19:55):
This is the kind of debate when you're like her,
so is it Miami, Notre Dame, is it.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Alabama? Is it Vandy?

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Like these are well, three of the four are huge
programs and have massive fan bases. And if those guys
are like, hey, we're getting snubbed and we had a case,
I mean, why wouldn't you make this? Extend this from
twelve teams to like sixteen and then just nobody gets
a buy and it's you know, to a sixteen team,

(20:28):
just like an NCAA bracket.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
What's wrong with sixteen games?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Add a couple games to the TV schedule, Like, who's.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Gonna hate on that? It's a no brainer.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Now, I do think that there's really no benefit to
the ones.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Now you're like, oh, well, so your your reward.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
For saying being Ohio State or Indiana, whoever wins that
game is instead of a bye, you know, I have
to play a sixteen Well what if you're the four?
Then what?

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Man, imagine getting Notre Dame in the first round or Alabama?
I mean, I know people don't love Alabama. I'm just saying, guys,
that Ty Simpson, man, that guy's making some clutch plays
all season. Klin de Boor by the way, never lost
to Georgia.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
I'm giving away all my piss early, but.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Just I love the college football discussion.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
We're gonna have a guest on later this week to
break it down. He just happened to go to the
University of Miami. I'll leave it at that. Oh, I
should mention the Lakers got smoked last night on a
back to back, because I know you guys love when
I gas up the Lakers. Here's what's weird. They got
destroyed by the Suns, and I'll be honest with you,

(21:37):
Sons play hard. We got to get my guy Ben
Garcia back on. He's like mister Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Suns.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Dylan Brooks had a career game. Devin Booker played ten minutes.
It was like they were on fire from three. Now
the Lakers to their you know, to defend them, not
that they need it. The Lakers were on a back
to back, and I know Lebron didn't play, but they

(22:03):
came out sluggish and at halftime they were down like
fourteen and they just never really got into it. And
I'm not gonna lie when when the Sons are hitting
fifteen threes. I mean, Jordan Goodwin revenge game, Colin Gillespie.
Here's what if I told you guys a Colin Gillespie story.
So his brother, Oh my gosh, am I spacing on

(22:25):
his name. So we were in Pennsylvania. Hold on, I
think his name was Ryan Gillespie, the Villanova point guard.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Oh my gosh, it's not his name. Wait, it's a
good story, don't worry.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Oh my gosh, it's not. Oh geez. Maybe I'm just
getting old and losing my mind here.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
But we were in.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Pennsylvania and I would go to the gym every day.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
I think I've told this story on here.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
And I would see this kid shooting with his dad
every day after school at this indoor gym we had.
It was it was huge in a lot of courts.
And I ended up becoming friends with this European, this
American who played internationally just by watching him at the gym.
And of course I want to be friends with the
guys who play basketball at a high level, because you know,

(23:23):
that's how.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
I recruit for my teams.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Anyways, So I would go up to the gym and
work out, and I would see this kid shooting with
his dad, and it would be like the same drill
every day. He would stand right a foot from the
hoop and he would get the hand motion, you know,
just flick the wrist one hand and take a step back,
ten more, step back ten more, and his dad would
just rebound him the whole time, and I'm like, damn,

(23:45):
this kid, he's locked in. And then he would do
all these drills and I'm like, man, this guy, this
guy's really good. I find out, oh yeah, j maak,
this guy's he's a pretty good point guard. He's going
to Villanova. I was like, what, this guy's small, white guy,

(24:06):
and I'm like, wow, okay. So I watched him at Villanova,
and of course he's really good and dominating, and he
would come back in the summer and do a little
bit of pick up. You wouldn't play a lot because
obviously what a freaking Villanova. But I remember one game
he just jumps in. Everybody no it looks up to
him and the guy is just every shot, he's just

(24:27):
dropping bombs, and I'm like, oh my, is this like, dude,
he's gonna be the NBA.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I was like wow.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Other guys in the gym were like, no way he arched.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
