Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, Bionna, the justices in this case have sided with
the Trump administration. First, to give you a little bit
of context, this dates back to this executive order that
was issued by President Trump in March that, as you said,
really was focused on election integrity, election security. Every American
who the federal government believes is eligible to vote in
(00:21):
federal elections, they were then directed to send those lists
eventually to the state's to help the states then cull
their voter rolls looking for non-citizens or anyone else who
is ineligible to vote. Of course, that ties back to
the president's longstanding claims that there is widespread voter fraud
in this country.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Good Saturday morning.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
So nice to have you with us on the 47
Morning Update.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
And we've got two big stories for you.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
First up, in a shocking news story, we are now
learning that Democrats are actually working with Canada to undermine
President Donald Trump and his tariff negotiations with our northern neighbor.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
So how did they get away with it? We'll expose
it all.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Up next, a very interesting move by the president, using
ICE agents to help protect our election integrity with the
midterms coming up. Plus, also screening people from other countries.
It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Story number one.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I want to get you up to date on what's
happening with Canada right now. And there's something very weird, odd, strange, unique,
and honestly, not surprising, all at the same time happening.
And that is, it looks like Liberal Democrats are now
working with Canada to undermine President Donald Trump. Now, the
(01:47):
Canadian Prime Minister Carney appointed a longtime Democrat political operative
who to a newly created senior position in his government.
The latest action in a long history between prominent Democrats
colluding with the country's leaders to oppose the Trump administration.
The two countries are now embroiled in a tense back
(02:09):
and forth, years in the making that threatens American interests
on trade as well as national security. Now, in mid-July,
Carney appointed Johnson as chief operating officer of the prime
minister's office. The position is the equivalent of the White
House chief of staff, and she is the first person
to hold the title in the Canadian government. Johnson also
(02:33):
concurrently serves as senior special advisor for, quote, United States
stakeholder strategy, a post she was hired in February of
this year to have as well. Now, what makes this
arrangement unusual is as an American citizen, Johnson, yes, you
heard that right, as an American citizen, Democrat operative, Johnson
(02:56):
is forbidden from top secret security clearance. As Carney's top deputy,
it's unclear what access Johnson receives to classified or secure materials. Now,
there was also no official announcement of the hire on
the prime minister's official website, which makes this even more
interesting because normally you would publicize something like this unless
(03:19):
you're trying to downplay it on purpose. Now, Johnson's professional
history is lined with connections to Democrats in America. Remember,
this is an American citizen. In 2016, for example, she
was listed as director of scheduling. for the failed Hillary
Clinton presidential campaign in 2020. She also worked for Michael
(03:40):
Bloomberg's now-defunct hawkish political consulting firm. and provided quote-unquote strategic
consulting services to the Biden campaign from August through December
of 2020. Now, when I say this is a top-level
American citizen democratic operative who's now the chief of staff
(04:01):
in Canada for the prime minister, yeah, you should all
be saying, what in the world's going on?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Now, that's not all she's done. Let me also just
tell you, she also took a position.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
With Bloomberg L.P., It's unclear if she worked for the
Biden-Harris campaign in 2024, and the FEC records do not
show expenditures connected to her. She did, though, contribute to
the campaign via the radical organization ActBlue. Am I painting
a good enough picture for you now? Yeah, it's pretty damning, right? Now,
(04:33):
Johnson's ties to Bloomberg serve as the thorough way to
Carney and the web of the Democrats who enjoy access
to the prime minister in Canada. As UN Special Envoy
on Climate Action and Finance, Carney focused on developing tools, guidance,
and products for investors that will combine positive social and
(04:55):
environmental outcomes with strong risk-adjusted returns, quote-unquote. That according to
a biography from the World Bank. Now, Carney served in
the position beginning in 19, following stints as governor of
the Bank of England and the Bank of Canada. Now,
in his U.N. role, Carney co-chaired the Glasgow Financial Alliance
(05:16):
for Net Zero.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
And guess what?
Speaker 4 (05:19):
The American, who's now the chief of staff in Canada,
provided him with research and support.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, all of this, you get my point. Now you
know just how bad it is.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Now, when the American citizen Johnson joined the Canadian government,
her portfolio focused on U.S.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Stakeholder strategy. And Canadian-U.S. relations.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Carney and Canada's Liberal Party has hosted a number of
establishment Democrats, and this is where it gets really interesting.
A great example of the radicals they host in Canada,
Alex Soros, has also made visits to Canada twice just
this year. while former President Barack Obama gave a speech
at the Canada 2020 Gala in Toronto, showing Carney's success,
(06:05):
bringing them to Canada to strategize against President Donald Trump. Now,
another connection between Washington Democrats and Carney. is Gerald Butts,
the former political advisor and strategist to the Prime Minister
Justin Trudeau. Now, he is well known in Canada as
the architect of liberals' climate and net zero policies, you know,
(06:27):
the Green New Deal, making him a natural ally, yet again,
for Carney.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Now, this isn't the only big connections.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
We also now have learned that Carney and Butts also
hold significant ties to John Podesta, You'll remember that name
because he's the longtime Democratic power broker, dating all the
way back to the Clinton administration, where he served as
White House chief of staff. Podesta chaired the Hillary Clinton
campaign in 2016 and would later serve in multiple climate
related roles in the Biden administration. You know, when Solyndra
(06:58):
and all those things were going on, where they wasted
your tax dollars by the billions and billions of.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Dollars, you know, during that time.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Now, Hillary Clinton was a featured speaker at a Canada
2020 conference and also in 2014, an event that also
served as a fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada.
In 17, even a former speechwriter for conservative Prime Minister
Stephen Harper told the New York Post in 2015, quote,
Podesta and Butts clearly know each other, but Carney's campaign
(07:27):
has been very careful not to tie him to anyone
too specifically. Podesta reportedly helped facilitate a private meeting involving Carney,
Obama and Soros at the former president's May 2016 speech
in Toronto. This was followed several weeks later by another
private gathering in Nova Scotia. And that meeting included federal
(07:50):
industry ministers, as well as Soros' wife, Uma Abedin, a
longtime Hillary Clinton loyalist, and Frank McKenna, who currently serves
as the deputy chair of TD Bank Group and chair
of the Brooksfield Asset Management. Now, I tell you about
all this so you understand just how heavy the Democratic
(08:10):
Party is deep inside of Canada. And what are they doing?
Doing everything they can right now to undermine the president
of the United States of America. Even Stephen Moore, talking
about the tariffs on Fox Business Channel, had this to say.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
But I do want to point out to the viewers
that China has, I mean, Canada has been cheating. They
are imposing very high tariffs on American farm goods, our
manufacturing goods, our technology products. And so they have been
imposing pretty high tariffs on the U.S. And what Trump
wants to do is force Canada to bring those down.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
I think it's a wise strategy.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
So the big question is this. If Canada has been cheating,
the question is for how long? And how long has
the Democratic Party been enabling Canada to take advantage of
the United States of America? This is, by the way,
why President Trump's 50 percent tariffs on roughly 20 billion
worth of Canadian goods that took effect on August the
22nd on Saturday. Well, he did it after those negotiations
(09:12):
between us and Canada collapsed.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
And he understands what I'm telling you now.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
There are bad actors in Canada who represent America that
are somehow working on the side of Canada to undermine
Donald Trump. You think about how much liberals hate America.
They're willing to go work for the other team to
hurt Donald Trump. And that means they're hurting all of us.
By the way, the White House says Canada is discriminating
(09:37):
against American commerce. Where's the Democratic Party and why aren't
they standing up for American commerce? And if you look
at dairy and alcohol and automobiles, well, you look at
just how big of an advantage Canada has. You got
to ask yourself this question. Why would Democrats ever agree
to supporting Canada knowing what they're doing when it comes
(09:58):
to the double standard in trade? now trump has now
threatened another major escalation doubling tariffs on canadian cars trucks
and auto parts from 25 to 50 beginning january 1
And that would be especially significant because the U.S. and
Canadian auto industries have deeply integrated supply chains. What's clear
(10:21):
is the president of the United States of America, even
if he is having to fight Canada right now, well,
he's not afraid apparently to fight the liberals, to fight
the Democrats in this country who are now working to
undermine America on behalf of the Canadian prime minister.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Next, story number two.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
U.S. immigration officers, we now are being told, have been
reassigned to screen South African refugees and find unlawful voters.
This is big breaking news as all U.S. immigration officers
working for a key anti-fraud unit have been reassigned by
(10:59):
the Trump administration to focus on screening South African refugees
and alleged unlawful voters. The Fraud Detection and National Security
Directive immigration officers have been shifted full-time onto two high-priority initiatives,
that according to the internal correspondence seen by The Guardian.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Leaving U.S.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Citizenship and Immigration Services, known as the USCIS, unable to
provide officers to train asylum officers in the near future.
But this is designed on purpose to make sure that
America stays safe. The USCIS is inside the Department of
Homeland Security, which has led Donald Trump's immigration crackdown during
(11:41):
his second term. The processing of asylum claims has largely
ground to a halt during Trump's administration. leaving many seeking
asylum in limbo. And why is that happening? Because of
the countless number of legal immigrants that the Democratic Party
allowed to come across our southern border. So if you're
angry about this chaos and limbo, if you're a liberal
(12:05):
out there, just know this could have all been avoided
if you didn't have wide open southern borders for countless years.
The immigration officers have been reassigned, we're being told, full
time to these high priority initiatives. South Africa refugee screening
and then unlawful voter screening as well. The message sent
(12:27):
on Monday said because of this, we will not have
the ability to assign immigration officers to the training portfolio
for the near future. Now contacted for comment, the USCIS
spokesman said the directorate works on different vetting portfolios to
combat fraud, maintain the integrity of the immigration system, which
clearly we had completely lost in the Biden administration, and
(12:51):
then also detect national security and public safety threats, saying, quote,
this mission set includes a number of those priorities, including
election integrity, and refugee screening. Now, the FDNS is the U.S.
CIS unit responsible for detecting fraud and national security concerns
(13:12):
in immigration benefits applications, including asylum claims. Its officers work
with asylum offices to identify cases requiring what they describe
as further investigation. refer matters to law enforcement, and help
asylum officers identify potential fraud and other red flags. Now,
the reassignment marks a significant diversion of FDNS personnel. The
(13:38):
message addresses only the agency's ability to provide officers for
asylum officer training. It does not say whether routine FDNS screenings.
of pending asylum applications has also slowed or stopped altogether. Now,
a disruption to training would limit specialized instruction for asylum officers,
(13:58):
and a broader slowdown in casework screening would have more
direct consequences, they say, for pending applications. But here's the
part that's really important. The refugee screening priority is part
of the Trump administration's bid. They say to sharply curtail U.S.
refugee resettlement. while also prioritizing admissions of South Africans, primarily
(14:23):
from an area where U.S. officials say they face racial
discrimination and quote unquote white genocide, which the South African
government has, quote, rejected as unfounded and politically motivated. Now,
the most recent refugee report from the U.S. State Department
detailed that of the 10,258 refugees admitted to the U.S.
between October 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, 1,255 were
from South Africa. The remaining three were Afghans that were
(14:44):
admitted in November. Now, the second priority identified in this
clear message, the screening for, quote, unlawful voters, that appears
(15:05):
to be part of the broader administration's effort to identify
non-citizens alleged to have registered to vote in U.S.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Elections.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Now, experts have expressed a lot of concern. Now, President
Trump has expressed a lot of concern about this being
a significant problem. And that's part of the reason why
clearly the resources are being moved to deal with our
midterm elections that are coming up. Now, the USCIS has
already moved to bar naturalization for green card holders who
(15:34):
voted or registered to vote, showing that if you skip
out on the system or abuse the system and you
think you're going to become an American citizen under this administration,
you are dead wrong. DHS Secretary, for example, Mark Wayne Mullen,
said in July that the department has identified over 250,000
(15:55):
potential non-citizens illegally registered to vote in California, in Nevada,
in New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Now, this is a shocking number.
And the point is the president has made it clear
what his agenda items are. He wants to make sure
that our elections are secure. He wants to make sure
(16:18):
that if you're in this country taking advantage of this country,
especially on a green card, that you will be held accountable.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
For your abusing the system.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
And he wants to make sure that if you do
ever vote in an election illegally and you are a
green card holder or trying to become an American citizen,
that you will never receive that incredible gift. Now, if
you just go back to the very basics here, one
thing is very clear. This president is saying he is
going to trust but verify when it comes to our
(16:49):
election system. He's making sure that there are actually checks
and balances, not just a bunch of people looking the
other way. And one thing's for sure, you cannot trust
the Democratic Party with these elections at all. They will
lie to your face and tell you that the border
is secure while millions of Americans are coming across the
(17:10):
border illegally. They will also tell you that our election
system is secure, even while you know that there are
actually documented cases of of illegal immigrants who have registered
to vote and have voted in our prior elections. So
this will be a very important moment, a moment where
(17:31):
the president of the United States of America is saying,
I am going to make sure that whatever happened before
doesn't happen again. And if there is cheating, we're going
to find it and we'll hold those accountable for it.
And if there's no cheating, great, then we're doing our
job exactly the way that we should be.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
So here's the.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
President letting those bad actors know less than 70 days
out from the midterms that we are paying attention to
our elections like never before.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
