Speaker 1 (00:00):
And then you read fake news like your network CNN,
which is fake news. You read them, you have them say, well, actually,
all are they doing quite well? Let me just say it.
They have now inflation of over three hundred percent. Four
months ago that inflation of five percent. Now they're at
over three hundred It could be three hundred and fifty percent.
All they have is fake news. Because they have the

(00:22):
fake news. Would rather see us lose the war than
win the war which has really treated us, which has
really treated us in a second way.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Good Tuesday morning. It's so nice to have you with
us on the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got
two big stories for you. First, the President of United
States of America attacking Iran and also securing the strait
of her moves, saying the United States of America will
now take total control. What does that mean, we'll explain it. Also,
we now know who the replacement is for Lindsey Graham

(00:54):
in the interim until they have an election.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
And it is a story that is going to warm
your heart.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
As the President of the United States of America, well,
he let it be very well known who he thought
should get that position, and that's exactly who the governor
has appointed. Now, before we get to all that, I
want to take a moment and I want to give
you something right now for free. If you are proud
to stand with Israel, I want you to receive a

(01:20):
free USA Israel flagpin. You can get this right now
by going online to flag PINIFCJ dot org. That's flag
PINIFCJ dot org. Now, I proudly wear this pen every
day when I'm on TV. And as America has celebrated
our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, this milestone also is

(01:41):
a time to reflect on our enduring relationship between the
US and Israel. They are our greatest allies, certainly in
the Middle East. President Trump has made it clear that
we are standing side by side with Israel, and that
is another reason why I want you to have this pen,
so that you can stand with Israel, as there's so
much anti Semitism growing and on the rise even in

(02:03):
this country. Now, America, we just celebrate our two hundred
and fifty year Independence Day and the International Fellowship of
Christians and Jews, well, now they're turning to God in prayer,
asking that his wisdom will guide elected officials and lead
American Israel to moral clarity and national unity. So, if
you're proud to stand with American Israel and you want

(02:25):
one of these flag pins, I want to.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Give it to you, Like I said, for free.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
It is time that we not be bullied by the
anti Semites in this country. Sign up to receive a
free USA Israel flagpen right now by going to flagpenifcj
dot org. That's flag pen if cj dot org. It's
a forty seven morning update and it starts right now.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Story number one.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
To say that the ball is moving very quickly with
President Donald Trump and what's happening in Iran, honestly, that
would be an understatement. And I'm going to walk you
through what's happened in the last ten to twelve hours now.
The White House has announced that the President will address
the nation Thursday night, nine pm Eastern. As the conflict
with Iran continues to escalate and the Middle East is

(03:14):
now moving closer to a broader regional war. After Rand
attacks neighboring countries over the past several days, the situation
has changed significantly. President Trump is announced in the United
States has reinstating the blockade targeting Iranian shipping, and he's
also declared that America will serve as the quote guardians

(03:34):
of the Strait of Hermus following the renewed Iranian attacks
and military escalation. Now, the administration says the blockade is
aimed at Iranian vessels while allowing non Iranian commercial traffic
to continue. Trump's proposal, by the way, for a twenty
percent security fee on cargo has also sparked international debate. Now,

(03:56):
I want you to hear what the President had to
say early in the morning on five News channel. Here's
what he said about Iran.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
But we had a deal, but nobody knows we had
a deal. It was a done deal, and then they
broke it. They always break it. We've had ten deals
with these people, and so we're just going to hit
them very hard and we're going to keep the straight
and we'll probably run it. Will become the guardian of
the Strait. Maybe we'll call it the Guardian Angel of
the Strait. And we should be reimbursed for that when

(04:24):
we do that, we're going to be reimbursed because the
other nations are very wealthy that are on our side.
And we can't be expected to do that for nothing,
unlike we had for many years. You know, we guarded
the Strait for fifty years more and we never got
paid for it. They made all the money in the
United States was just you know, not they wouldn't. It's amazing,

(04:45):
it's we never made We guarded it for nothing, and
now we're going to guard it. We're going to get
paid for guarding it a lot of money, but we
just want to be reimbursed for doing all of this,
for putting our people in danger. But we're really not
putting people. We're really saving people. Remember this, They killed
fifty two thousand protesters so far as at this moment,

(05:06):
the numbers fifty two thousand. Who's going to protest and
a lot of people are surprised about the protesting, you
know that they haven't. But nobody's going to protest when
they get shot. They have AK forty seven, the machine
guns aimed at people's heads. If you move one foot further,
you get shot, and then they'll shot. They'll shoot ten
of them and everybody flees. Who's not going to flee

(05:27):
They don't have guns, So they're a bad group of people.
Let me just tell you that I don't say that often,
and I have to live with that statement. They're a
bad group of people. They've been this way for a
long time, and right now they're getting their ass kicked
and in the top forumber now.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
The present being blunt there and as that interview happened,
then things starting to escalate on the other side of
what the White House says is going to happen next.
Now we also have been told that there are going
to be major attacks that are going to take place
tonight on Iran. The President putting out a tweet saying this,
The Strait of Hormuz is open all caps and will

(06:08):
remain open with or without Iran. We are reinstating the
Iranian blockade, so named it because it's only stopping Iran
ships or customers from entering or leaving. All other countries
will have fair and open use of the strait. The
US will be from this point forward known as the
Guardians of the Strait of Hormuz. But as much as

(06:28):
a matter of fairness, we will be reimbursed at a
rate of twenty percent on all cargo shift for any
and all costs necessary to do the job of providing
safety and security to this very volatile section of the world.
The process and formation will begin immediately. Thank you for
your attention to this matter. President Donald J. Trump putting

(06:49):
that in a truth social posting earlier. Now the President
also going to make this speech. Why well, the President's
saying this is he called into Salem radio and had
this to say about what's happening right now.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
But we don't want to talk about that. But okay,
we certainly are watching. Yeah, I know a lot about
that subjects. I know a lot, but I don't think it's.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Appropriate to talk about it right now. But we will.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
We will see hitting them.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Like as an example, we're gonna hit them very hard
tonight and we're gonna hit them hard tomorrow. And there's
not a damn thing they can do about it. They
have nothing, They have nothing going other than they have
big mouths.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
That I did.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
I got to know them, and it's a lot better.
You know, people say I was at least reasonable, but
I got to know them with this stone cald crazy.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
People, stone cold crazy people. They have big mouths. Will
hit them very hard tonight and we're gonna hit them
hard tomorrow, and there's not a blanket thing they can
do about it. The US military again launching these overwhelming
strikes against Iran, the President announcing, and then the big
question will be what will the President say the nation

(08:00):
on Thursday night, nine o'clock pm Eastern. I can promise
you we're going to cover it all for you, as
the president. Moving into a new phase and a very
very important part of the world. The President also issuing
a scathing warning to a ran following the broken military agreement,
revealing that the US hammered their equipment overnight and permanently

(08:23):
took over the operations they say security operations in the
Middle East, saying this on Fox News.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Their equipment is gone. Their anti aircraft that is gone.
We hit them very hard last night. Every time they
send a drone, we hit them very hard. But we
had a deal, but nobody knows we had a deal.
It was a done deal, and then they broke it.
They always break it. We've had ten deals with these
vehople and so we're just going to hit them very
hard and we're going to keep the straight and we'll

(08:52):
probably run it. Will become the Guardian of the Strait.
Maybe we'll go it the Guardian Angel of the Strait,
and we should be reimbursed for that. When we do that,
we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are
very wealthy that are on our side, and we can't
be expected to do that. But nothing unlike we had
for many years.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Now, this obviously is moving into a very new phase.
We now know that the President has formally notified lawmakers
that the nation is once again at war with Iran,
giving his administration another sixty eight clock to use military
in the region without congressional approval. So the President working
through this quickly, and he says he is now saying

(09:29):
the MoU with Iran was a test for Iran and
they failed it miserably. I said, watch I guarantee, and
they never followed it. They are known for this. It
was a test the memorandum of understanding. When you're dealing
with sleeves bags, well, then it's never going to work.
So the President making it clear this is a new
phase of this war with Iran, notifying Congress, and a

(09:52):
major announcement coming to the American people in primetime on
Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Next story number two.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
There are a lot of people that are looking looking
at South Carolina right now, and the big question was
who was going to take over after the passing of
Lindsey Graham. We now know who that interim centaer will be.
South Carolina. You have a new Senator, and the appointment
carries not only enormous personal and political, but also historic significance.

(10:20):
The Governor there, Henry McMaster, has appointed Lindsey Graham's younger sister, Yes,
to temporarily represent South Carolina in the United States Senate.
The appointment was publicly encouraged and supported by President Donald Trump,
who argued that selecting Darlin would be a fitting tribute

(10:40):
to her brother's extraordinary life and service. I want you
to hear the governor announcing that the sister of Lindsey
Graham had just been named the US Senator, and that
Governor Henry McMaster said, not only is a move that's
supported what President Trump had said, but she agreed to
serve through tears. Here's the Governor, in his own words,

(11:03):
making the announcement to the state today.

Speaker 7 (11:06):
Under the law, is my duty and honor to name
someone to serve in the place of this irresistible man,
this irreplaceable man, this extraordinary man, for the remainder of
his term. Lindsey took care of his little sister in

(11:28):
years long departed. It's my honor to ask his little sister,
Darlene Graham, to finish his work for him now. And
by the way, Darlena, I don't know if I told you,
but after we spoke on the phone in the wee
house of Sunday morning and you agreed to serve through

(11:48):
tears earlier, I had wondered what she would say, and
I was humbled by your quickness to see the duty
that you had to serve. And I called the President
afterwards and he thought it was a great idea. And

(12:12):
I'm sure that everyone here does as well. Darling little sister,
come forward please.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
As you could hear there from the Governor, it was
a somber but sweet movement. You may not realize that
Lindsey Graham's sister was someone that he raised after they
lost both of their parents when they were young. Lindsey
raised his little sister and eventually even became her legal guardian.
He was only in his early twenties, attending college and

(12:41):
serving in the Air Force, but he took responsibility for
keeping their family together. That experience not only shaped Lindsey
Graham's life, his faith and his commitment to public service,
but obviously had a massive impact on his little sister. Now,
she isn't just Lindsey Graham's little sister. She has virtually
been in every aspect in the most important parts of

(13:04):
Lindsay's life. She frequently appeared with him at major political moments,
including when he launched his presidential campaign, and she's remained
one of his closest confidants throughout his entire career. President
Trump even made reference to this before Governor McMaster's announcement.
Trump urged the governor to appoint the sister as a

(13:25):
temporary centater, describing the idea as not only a powerful
way to honor Lindsay Graham's memory, but also ensuring South
Carolina continued to have full representation in Washington. Senator Tim
Scott also supported the appointment as well, being from the
same state. Politically, the appointment is also incredibly important at
this moment. Why because when she arrives, it now allows

(13:49):
the Republicans to preserve their fifty three forty seven Senate majority,
a moment right now where the Chamber is dealing with
major national security legislation, defend spent presidential nominations and continuing
tensions involving Iran and Russia, with the President's big speech
on Thursday night being at the core of a lot
of this.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Lindsey Graham has been one of.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
The Senate's most influential voices on military affairs, foreign policy,
and judiciary. And now his little sister will be there
to continue to carry that baton of what Lindsey Graham
believed in and to make sure the people of South
Carolina have someone representing their state's interests.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Now. Her appointment is also historic.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
As I mentioned earlier, Darlen Graham becomes the first woman
to represent South Carolina in the United States Senate history.
It's a remarkable milestone in a state with a long
and consequential political history. The appointment does not settle the
longer political battle over Lindsey Graham's seat. South Carolina Republicans

(14:52):
are scheduled to hold a special primary on August eleventh,
with a potential runoff later that month.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
The general election his schedule for November third.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Now.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Already there have been several prominent Republicans that are reportedly
looking and considering having a campaign, including the Lieutenant governor,
members of South Carolina's congressional delegation. The eventual Republican nominee
is also expected to face a tough fight with the
Democratic nominee, Annie Andrews. But what we now know is,

(15:23):
at least for the next few months, Lindsey Graham will
be represented in the United States Senate by his little sister.
And I couldn't think of anything more fitting than literally
doing exactly what the President said having this become a reality.
