Speaker 1 (00:03):
This is a podcast called twenty five whist and they
wear a whist.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
So yeah, it's too bad, but what did you expect.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles twenty wine.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Welcome, Eddie, thank you. I was on YouTube yesterday and
I watched a collection of commercials that don't hold up.
And so I didn't even want to send this to
Kevin this morning because I had Kevin put him in.
I just didn't want it to be wasted on anybody.
But I needed somebody to do producer stuff. So Eddie,
(00:38):
you're gonna be the one to experience these with me.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Lave okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
These are commercials from back in the day that were
legitimate commercials that they thought it was okay to run
these commercials. Oh no, And some of them it's only
okay because, for example, this first commercial is about AIDS.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Oh my gosh, I guess it's something they had to
talk about.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
No, but it's different Before AIDS, the epidemic AIDS was
this hit it.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I was overweight and looked terrible, but AGS helped me
lose forty six pounds. The AIDS diat plan helped me
lose twenty eight pounds.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Age helps control your appetite, so you lose weight.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yet age lets you taste, chew and enjoy, and.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
The appetite suppress in an age is not a stimulant.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
AH helped me to lose eighteen pounds and it doesn't
contain anything to make me nervous.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
Question, why take diet pills when you could enjoy eg
Age helps you lose weight without making you jitterate.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
So it's spelled ayds.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Okay, I they're not talking about the same AIDS. That
is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
That was a popular appetite suppress and candy from the
seventies and eighties. Ayds. I'm sure it was so stimulant heavy,
because that used to be what a diet pill was.
We'll just stimulate the crap out of you. Yeah, and
it's basically like those bumble beeat things at the gas
station now.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Oh yeah, yeah, the yellow jackets.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah whatever does Oh yeah yeah, I never actually bought those,
but yeah, how about that?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
I lost weight? But AIDS.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
It took me a while to realize that they're not
talking about the same AIDS.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
This this one here, I watched this one. I laughed
out loud. So this is America's favorite oriental food lachoi.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
And so while that's still around, by the way, while
they're eating this there they go from being like white
people around the table and they just pop into they
turn into Asian people. So they go white to Asia.
It's I'm talking full full works. So I watched it,
so I don't know what's gonna sound like by itself.
We hit that mic flat.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Joy, Kung food Theatre, La Choi for dinner. Yes, America's
favorite brand of oriental food.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Mine too?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh yes, Oh is not that one intruders?
Speaker 6 (02:51):
No, this is a different one. Yeah, a different oriental
food that just hit me to the other one was
so visual.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Then that's why I wondered if they were eating it
and all of a sudden they would just turn into
Asian people.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, what's happening here?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
So what is this? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (03:04):
So this is kung fu fighters are like breaking into
a house. But he's got LaTroy and his system, so
he's all like, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Latore by the way, I invited the neighbors to.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
Dinner and cook more lachoi, and I think they've worked
up an appetite.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Latoi America's favorite.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
This is crazy.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
He turned into like a black belt because he LaTroy.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
What a different time and it's not that long ago, No,
not at all. Okay, So here's Bill Cosby, Oh boy,
doing an anti drug commercial. He's sitting on the couch
on the set of The Cosby Show in a sweater.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Here you go. This is Bill Cosby.
Speaker 7 (03:44):
Now that everybody has told you about the dangers of
doing drugs, I'd like to tell you about some of
the benefits. Just imagine yourself unconscious, making a visit to
a hospital, emergency room, weeks and rehabilitation centers, nights and
overcrowded prisons, spending more money than you can afford, ruining
your health, hurting your parents, losing your loved ones, and
most of all, destroying yourself. Remember what I say about
(04:07):
doing drugs, I think you can.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Say no as he's simultaneously drugging people.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Dude, That's what's eerie about that clip, especially the beginning part.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Might just play the beginning again.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
This is Bill Cosby.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
Now that everybody has told you about the dangers of
doing drugs, I'd like to tell you about some of
the benefits. Just imagine yourself unconscious, making a visit to
a hospital.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Imagine yourself unconscious, because that was that was the thing.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
M M dude, that one makes me feel sick.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
This one is wild and we had to bleep out
our word. Oh this was would run on television. Hit it.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Today.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Being means leading a full life.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
People go to work a school, just like the neighbors,
and come back to a real home, a supervised hole,
right in the neighborhood where they belong, being never stopped anyone,
and being a good neighbor.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
I've actually seen that one.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
No, I know, it's crazy. It's crazy. What is happening
being a good neighbor? That's wild. Okay, I have a
few more. I'm watching this on YouTube yesterday. There's some
I couldn't even.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Put it in here.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Oh I'm sure there was one. Mhm. It rhymes it
was a food brand, type of food and it rhymes
with maggots.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay, got it.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And he kept saying it over and over when you eat,
and it was like aids.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
It just meant yeah, it's completely different, but you just.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, everything about it felt wrong. Yeah, okay. Hit number five.
This is your You and your Johnson commercial. This is
Johnson Outboards boat.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
The boat load.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
You've got your son rise, you caught a prize, You're making.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
You Johnson, caught in knights, Summer Lights.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You, your friends and you Johnson reached the tails trails, You,
your kids and You're Johnson. Saturday Nights, Distant Lights, You,
your girl and your Johnson.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
You and your Johnson a way of life for over
fifty years.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, yeah, kind of a jam.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, you, your friends and your Johnson. I think that
was before Johnson really met Penis.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
It was it was at the start of no.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
No Big Johnson. Remember the shirts Big Johnson.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that, the hit shirts that
said Big Johnson's on it.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Everybody wore them.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
People wore them school.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Yeah, what was it like a joke thing?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Uh? Yes, that there was the insinuation on what it meant,
So it meant that, but they kind of used a
different graphic. But it was no fear Big Johnson's Massimo
all in that eras before you guys a little bit. Yeah,
Big Johnson shirts were popular.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Did you have one of those? No? I never did one.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
I felt uncomfortable because we're gonna wear youth group of church.
Yeah right, I'm not gonna wear my let go let
God's shirt. The day before I wear a big Johnson shirt,
so I felt uncomfortable with that. And then also they
were expensive and.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
There was a type of dude that wore that shirt. Yeah,
and it wasn't me.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Wait what was that dude?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Kind of like you what cool?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Yeah? You kind of cool guy.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, not the little skinny Mexican dude.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Oh okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Here is an O. J. Simpson commercial for Hurts. I'm
just straightforward.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Here you go.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
Wow, Jay, some guys are sure in a hurry to
get to the airport.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Guess he doesn't know about Hurt's new instant return. It
hurts you don't have the rest in return your car
because now Hurts gives you your receipt right.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
At your car, so you have everything you need to
do your expensive card. I'll have your receipt right away.
It's too bad he didn't know about hurt Sinceton return.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
OJ was so lovable, he was and he was a
star until the murders.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's why it was so shocking.
When you saw the chase on TV.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
You're like, OJ, Kevin probably don't doesn't remember it because
I was in my big Johnson shirt. While watching.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Taking your AIDS Supplement.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Yeah, I was probably like four, So yeah, I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
And here's one that's crazy. So this is a NASA
commercial and so this is before the challenger crashed. But
the teacher that was in Krista McCullough. Yeah, Krista mccauloff, right,
is that right?
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah? Christ mcculoff, Yeah, that's right. Howd you know that
some of those memories, those are core memories in my head?
Speaker 6 (08:27):
So that she's in this commercial, right, it's a promo.
It's like a local station in Massachusetts.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I believe. Here you go four.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Three two one, we have ignition and lift off. The winner,
the teacher who will be going into space, Krista.
Speaker 7 (08:46):
Mccaullough share the excitement as New England's own Christa mccauloff
gets ready to make her dream come true.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
The space lessons are very simple. We came up with
the field Trip in Space Teacher in Space, a one
hour special Monday night.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
That was stationed New England. Turns too eerie.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
That is eerie, And I think that that's kind of
why it was so impactful to us, because there was
a lot of promotion leading up to the journey or
whatever the expedition because they kept pushing it. Yeah, there's
a teacher going up to space, the first teacher ever.
She's not an astronaut. She just won a competition, Like
so cool. Then that happened.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Then that happened. That's a moment before you guys, I
was really young, so you had to be young.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
I was young. Yeah, but I mean they showed it.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, No, I remember at school not to show the explosion, to.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Show, not to show to the LA launch, but the teacher.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Who that and the OJ thing were like too early
on in life, like crazy things that happened in the
news that just out of know where happened and then
took over.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah. And then for kids too that I mean, we
didn't watch the news growing up, like that's what my
dad did. What my dad watched the news, But when
that happened, we were glued to the TV.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Whenever I think about moments like that, news events that
happened that then took over popular culture. Now nine to
eleven is the biggest one because that was a crazy
news story. But if we take out like tragic, terroristic
or weather events like the Will Smith slap when he
(10:20):
slapped Chris Rock out of nowhere, freaking crazy. Within fifteen minutes,
everybody's talking about it.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Did you see that live?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
No? But I saw it on social media like ten
seconds after it happened, basically immediately. Kobe Bryant dying in
the helicopter crash. Yes, that was a crazy one that
out of nowhere. Wait what? And then was everywhere.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
I remember I was going to your house for something
and I got there and you're like, dude, Ryan died.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
I'm like, yeah, yeah, I was having breakfast for my
mom's birthday. That's I remember two every year tell my
mom's birthday. We were like, what in la we having
breakfast too? It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I remember I made a list of these things, like
random things in the news that happened that everybody talked
about for day. The Coldplay kiss cam that was from
a couple of years ago. That's from last year. Last year. Yeah, random,
and then just took over like that was something that
went viral that then turned into news. Because there are
a lot of things that go viral that you never
even follow up on. But this they hid, he got
(11:17):
they got fired. It just kept kept on, it kept on,
So that one was one. Remember Mike and you'll remember
this because I wasn't watching it live. But whenever they
confused La La Land and Moonlight for Best Picture.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Oh yeah, and they had to come back on and say, nope.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
They read the wrong Was it like movie or the
Best Picture?
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Best Picture?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah, the big award they read the wrong ones.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
It was Moonlight.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
So along those lines was the Steve Harvey one in
there too.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
The Miss America A big deal, yeah, and that was funny.
I would just think the other one's much bigger because
it was with a bunch of famous people and it
was movies.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
They're already on stage accepting the award.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Oh that's right. They did accept it, and they were
weren't they speaking already?
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Ye're like, ah, we didn't win. Turns out and then
they were like Moonlight, come on.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Up and Lala Lamb is a great.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Hard sports wise de More Hamblin. Yeah, that was when
he collapsed on Monday night football and then they just
didn't know what to do, so they just went to
the studio.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
He had a heart at Did you see that live? Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
I was watching it live.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yeah, yeah, I remember immediately they went to a Burriking
commercial and I always think of that when I hear that.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
When up.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
The jingle or whatever, and then through to the studio
for a long time.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
And then you're wondering, like, okay, well they're going to
start this back.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
They played the game, did they know?
Speaker 6 (12:39):
They can't say that they did. Yeah, they thought that one.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Oh dang, my mind. I never trust the memory. I
remember the game.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
I remember they called it.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Yeah, they called that game, did they not?
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Did they ever finish the game? They couldn't, right, No,
they didn't win. I remember them finishing the game.
Speaker 6 (12:53):
I want to say, like because it was the bills
in cheat, No, it was a bill.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
I'm thinking World Cup. I'm thinking World Cup on the
guy the heart attack on Are not a couple of
soccer The guy had a.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Heart attack on the field, Yeah, the Denmark guy. And
then they keep playing Yeah that one. They keep going,
yeah that's what.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about it from soccer. They
keep yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 5 (13:09):
Or it was like in wrestling when Owen Hart died,
they kept.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Having he died falling from the rafters.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Remember that.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Okay, I got a couple more here. Sports wise, Lebron's
the decision, yes, which was wild bin Laden being killed? Yes, Yeah,
let's see what I got. I mean, in a bit Harambe.
I don't know if that ever crossed you guys when
Harambe was murdered in Cincinnati the.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Gorilla, yep, yeah, because did somebody a little girl fall
in or something.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I think, I don't know if it's a girl or
a boy.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
But yeah, but but he didn't hurt the baby or
the kid, but they killed him anyway, doesn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Balloon boy, I watched that crap.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I remember you talking about it a lot.
Speaker 6 (13:56):
Was that the one that was on Netflix too?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Like it was probably documentary?
Speaker 6 (13:58):
Yeah, I watched that like a year ago maybe I.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Remember it live living in Austin, and the kid was
just floating in this balloon, and turns out he was
up in the attic, but everybody was watching thinking the
kid was in the balloon.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, I thought that he just floated off into a
different world.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Let's see what else did I put here? I mean,
I don't know if this was one moment, but I
put Monkey Pock because I just thought monkey was funny.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yeah, oh that's a big deal. We talked about it
a lot.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
No, it's just like if you're gonna have a poc.
You can't name it after something that's fun and lovable
chicken monkey, at least chicken. Though you don't want to
hug a chicken, No, you can't. You want to have
a pet monkey. So yeah, anyway, there's the Ocean Gate
Titan too. But then I don't know if I've just
been affected by the documentary and the stories after the
exploding boat down below? Dude, what about COVID, like just
(14:45):
COVID in general.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yep, crazy, it was crazy.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
It's crazy. I was talking to a little big town
with Karen and Kimberly about that specifically, not the actual virus,
but how wild that was wild.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I mean, I'm in my garage, sprain in on my groceries, yeah,
with gloves on, going to the mail and putting gloves on.
And then I remember specifically being like, I'm not wearing
a mask to go anywhere. That's the stupidest thing ever.
But then you looked around, You're like, everyone's wearing a mask.
I'm literally the only one that doesn't want to wear it.
I'm putting it on.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I was already wearing masks pre COVID on airplanes because yeah,
and I liked it, and I want to catch people's flues,
and people wouldn't sit, they'd leave that middle seat open
on Southwest because I had a mask on and I
wasn't sick. I just didn't want to people, and so
it wasn't that weird to me. I kind of enjoyed
that part of it.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah, that was normal to you.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Yeah, you were COVID before COVID he was.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Anyway.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
I saw those commercials and thought, that's.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
That's pretty that's pretty wild.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Have you seen?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
There's way more which you can't I may pull some more,
but there's some bad ones.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
It's like that video of the news interview where they're
interviewing people about wearing seat belts. Oh yeah, yeah, we're.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
Drinking and driving or drinking. Yeah, that's the best one.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
What are they gonna do next? I can't have a
beer after work? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
All right, World Cup? You do a little World Cup talk.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Yeah, that was interesting, boring.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I didn't turn it on until near the end of
the ninety minutes because, like I said, I'm not going
to start at the beginning. I don't care enough. But
it was getting close and I thought, oh, maybe it's
some penalty kicks here zero zero turn it on. Text
you boys. I'm like, I'm man, boys, zero zero going
into extra time and then once Spain once they lost
(16:33):
a guy Argentina. Yeah, and then Spain made a goal.
You knew it was over. I'd listened to people talk
all week about it anyway, going whoever scores first, because
one Spain plays such good defense, they give up one
goal in the entire tournament, all eight matches, only one goal.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
Yeah, that's insane.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
So they said, if Spain scores first, they'll win because
their defense is so good, no one will score. If
Argentina scores first, they'll win because Spain's offense isn't that
great and they probably won't score. So it was zero
zero American, I'm rooting for penalty kicks like crazy. Yeah,
when that dude, I guess it was a tackle. I
(17:10):
don't know when he got the when he got the
red No, I don't know when he got the red card.
That dude flipped. That was crazy talking about I think
a little bit. He he played that perfectly. He overplayed
that flip. Those guys are so athletic, but man, how
aggressive was that dude?
Speaker 6 (17:24):
Aggress That guy was pissed the Argentina player like there
was a couple of times where he was doing something.
I think he was just frustrated and he just took
it out on that guy.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
So he got a double yellow, right, so like he
had gotten.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
That what it was. I just said, the red card
come out.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
I didn't know he got a yellow, like not long before.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
That earlier in the game. Yeah, not too long before that.
And then that one caused another yellow, which means it's
a red.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I thought that was red enough to be a red
flipping through the air.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
I was like, that's first time and watched a game
all tournament, and like, that's a foul for sure.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
And then most of the time I'm watching him like flop,
come on, get up, d you're not really hurt. When
that guy was down, I'm like, I get it, stay down.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
That hurts again. I only watched the last quarter of
regular play plus that extra time, but I've listened to
people talk about it, and it seems like Argentina knew
they weren't as good as Spain, so they were just
trying to mucket up the whole game. They were just
fouling so much that they were daring the refs call
it every play. Then and then the ref Wooden because
you don't want to call out every play. Yeah, I
felt bad for Messi. I want a Messi to win
(18:21):
a second one. It seems like he is so loved
by his teammates. He's you know, there's nothing about him
that turns me off, like Rinaldo a little bit. He
seems like a douchebag. It could also be his like
glistening sweat and good looks, his great colored skin.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
Tan skin.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Yeah, you also can see his teammates don't love him,
or maybe I'm just projecting that. Yeah, but yeah, Messi's
like five to eight, I don't know how tall. He
is forty years old.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
And I felt bad that he never really got the
ball because that was just the game. The game was
Spain having possession ninety percent of the game.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
They never took a shot.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
No, I know, And that that text was so funny
when you're like, hold on, So the stat that says
Argentina's zero shots, that means they haven't taken a shot,
not one.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
I was like, you guys have been watching this, they haven't.
And not only that, I looked afterward, I think Argentina
only got the ball inside whatever that square zone is
one time m hm. I don't know what the zone
is called.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yeah, the yeah, right by the goal.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, they're right by the goal zone, the big square.
Well I did learn a little more about soccer this run.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Yeah. So you know what's funny is my kids like
want to play soccer now because of it. Like even like, hey,
let's go to the park down the street that they
have goals. They have soccer goals. Let's go kick so
love I love that anytime a sport just kind of
sparks their excitement.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
It's pretty cool that dude that's nineteen. It's like Spain's
stud players won a World Cup. I know that's the
kid that Messy bathed.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Right, Yeah, okay, can you describe that picture for me?
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Well, there were a lot of pictures the bathing one. Well,
I don't know, but there are a lot of pictures
of him holding him and then one of them happens
he was in a bath as well.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
I I don't know why was he bathing.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
You know, he's a baby, he bathed babies. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Dude, Like, you're my best friend. I'm not bathed your baby.
I'm not going to bait your baby.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
I know, but I don't understand either. So what do
you want from me? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I just like because my.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Europe man, I just go, you know, because he was Barcelona,
so that you know he was in Spain.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Yeah, and you bathed the baby.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
I guess did you bathe everybody's baby?
Speaker 6 (20:21):
Maybe it was like a soap thing, like not enough
stuff to go around or something interesting? Yeah, I don't know. Okay,
did you watch the halftime show?
Speaker 2 (20:28):
No, Eddie, I watched clips interesting. I saw ted Lasso
sub and Justin Bieber.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Oh yeah that's funny. Ye, yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
And then Bieber played live.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Yeah, but he don't play one song? And his acoustic
is what acoustic?
Speaker 1 (20:41):
What say one more time? What am I saying? That's funny?
Speaker 6 (20:47):
Acoustic?
Speaker 1 (20:48):
That's it is? I?
Speaker 6 (20:49):
He said acoustic? No, I can't say that.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
You've always said acoustic acoustic.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
It's probably because you've only read it and not heard
it being said. Maybe.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Yeah, that's so I'm pronouncing it wrong, like there's not
like a oh the West coast says it, in the
South acoustic all the way around, it's acoustic, acoustic acoustic.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Did you do Hallelujah?
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (21:13):
And I didn't know it was like a trendy thing.
I was watching with my sister. She's like, yeah, it's
like a trend on social media, I guess. And then
he did like World Cup Hallelujah. I don't know, but
the performance, I mean they had like a bunch of
big names. Shakira, Shakira, Bts, Madonna play, who say Bts?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah right yeah, Shaki whole play played.
Speaker 6 (21:32):
Chris Martin was there?
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Oh I didn't see that.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yeah, player Chris Martin.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
But maybe just Chris Martin actually with all the kids,
his kids, I don't know, all those kids.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Oh was he bathing kids again? Like what is happening?
That's all they did?
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Big bath is him taking a bath with a bunch
of kids.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Hey, europe man.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
I saw post Malone pre show performing. Oh yeah, I
saw that too, but not during halftime. I saw that one.
But then once the game started to change it.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yes, because he didn't want to just started the game.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Who gets a crap?
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Well what did Tom Cruise do? Did he do something? Like?
Speaker 2 (22:04):
No? I think he did like a a pep talk, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Do something because I walked in and my wife's like
Tom Cruise is doing something?
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Why?
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Why Tom Cruise?
Speaker 2 (22:11):
I think It was like a pep talk, like a
for television type pep puk. At least I only saw
Bruce Buffer, but then he wasn't even on and they
were talking over him.
Speaker 6 (22:20):
I know, like the yeah the announcer or the pregame
show or something. What about the announcer calling Matt Dame
and Brad Pitt? Did you see that?
Speaker 1 (22:27):
There were a lot of little mess ups? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Well, uh, farewell World Cup.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
That was fun though, Like did you did you enjoy it?
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Yes? But I think too it speaks for expansion of tournament.
The United States was very much into it and we
loved it because we got into the knockout. Had they
not expanded, the tournament wouldn't gotten the knockout, correct, So
I always love expansion. People complain about expansion to water down.
You're just never going to convince me that more games
is bad for me, because what's the worst I can do?
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Not watch?
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Okay, And it wouldn't have if had he not expanded,
the US would have been and he wouldn't cared about
the World Cup so much.
Speaker 6 (23:02):
I wouldn't have Heck, no, I wouldn't have.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Did you.
Speaker 7 (23:04):
Well?
Speaker 6 (23:04):
Last thing, you see Trump getting the picture at the end.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I didn't. As soon as Spain scored, I was out
what happened?
Speaker 6 (23:10):
You know, like in soccer, they get on the stage
or really any trophy ceremony and they take like one
big picture with the team and there's like all these
py rows behind him. Trump gave him the trophy. I
didn't even know it was gonna happen. And then he
just stood on the stage and they're trying to get
him off the stage, and he just stood there as
they're taking like the picture the whole Spain team, and
Trump's just standing there and the FIFA presidents like trying
(23:32):
to get him off, and He's just standing there like, no,
I'm staying here.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
That's funny. We did watch the Papa Shot tournament, which
is fun.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, that was interesting. Yeah did the first time.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
No, the only thing I saw was on Your Your Story,
which is great.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
It's ESPN Plus, so obviously it's not ESPN And we
talked about it on the Bobby Bone Show. It was
cool that Ray made it, heck yeah, and then it
was cool that he kept winning.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah. Did he played really really well.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
He's not at that one of the top guys, but
he's one of those mid guys that I think if
he worked really hard, he could get up to that
top guy level. Because some of those guys, this is
their life. Yes, I'm sure they have real jobs to it.
I don't mean it as an insult, but we all
have things that we focus on. It could be kids,
it could be your extra obsess with your job. Who
knows gambling this is their They love it, and so
(24:23):
this is their identity and their personality and they dedicate
a lot of their life to it, and that's cool.
They found their community. So I don't mean that as
a dig at all from somebody who plays tournament pickleball.
It's not going to be a dick. But it was
cool to see Rey get in there and just play well.
And I was nervous for him, like my heart was
beating fast in the middle of his game. They just
(24:43):
should do show the scores better.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, It's almost like they were in between shots of
like right behind them where you can see the player
and their score. But then once they went sideways and
all you saw was the player, You're like, I don't
know who's winning.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, who cares about their shooting motion?
Speaker 6 (25:00):
And it happened so fast. It's not like you need
different angles, right, I mean, and they're.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Not going to spend a bunch of money for a
big television production or have a bunch of notes with cameras.
It was just kind of like rolling with a couple
of cameras and get it up on ESPN Plus. Because
it wasn't very organized either. Yeah, they would go, okay,
that's over, next group up, and so eight more people
would come in. Sometus people would forget to go and play.
But once they got rid of the riff raft and
ray was still in, they got to bracket play like
(25:26):
knockout round. This is basically a World Cup but for
pretty much. So they got to bracket round after they
eliminated I think thirty two people. So then you start
to play another person heads up, and Raymond knows playing
another guy heads up. But it's two out of three
because it's only a minute. Yeah, okay, So ray loses
the first game in the two out of three and
he's eight seed and the guy and he's playing as
(25:47):
a nine seed, so they're pretty even. But he loses
the first game. We're like, oh god, this is it,
and then he crushes the next two. Whoops the guy
really yeah, it was awesome. And on that third game
that he won, he like gave the camp I'm right,
like a love.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
I love it, dude.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
I saw the headphones on headphones on that take top
and his arms.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Later he said there was nothing playing through the headphones.
He's had him on to out the noise.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
I think, just to look cool, except for they were
like beats by Drake for like two thousand and seven,
Like how cool? Anybody else noticed that? Yeah, they were
like old school. But I hope he keeps doing that.
That's that's fun. Yeah, and that's different, and that's something
that you can have that's about you and that you
can take your extra energy and do that.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
And he can hang with them like it's not like
he hasn't. He's just so bad where it's like, yeah,
you would say, hey, give up, dude, don't do that,
But no, this he can play with the best.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, don't you think though, Like I think, if I
train hard enough, I can play with the best. Yes,
he has wanted his house and he's been training for
a long time. So it's not a shot at him.
It's the amount of effort you want to put into it.
And he's been working hard and it paid off.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
And it's all about speed, right, It's all about like
just how the rhythm you can get over over and over,
because once you miss like one, two, three, then it's like, oh,
it's hard to catch up.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
That's muscle memory.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
Yeah, was a guy that won it. I feel like
he might be an advantage or.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
No, he was not tall.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
He wasn't.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
He was normal. I mean normal in every way. He's
like a forty five year old dude had a collared
shirt on. They just didn't wasn't trying to fake like
an athlete, just a dude.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
You watched all the way to the end.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
I watched after Ray lost. I kept it on and
then I was doing stuff until I shut the house down,
and so I would walk back over and see who won.
And then I saw that d of counters. Now to
get the dogs out, Let me use the bathroom. I
locked the door, turned the alarms of all that that
kind of stuff. I didn't watch really any golf. It
(27:43):
was on too early. And also I didn't care.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, I would say by especially for the first two rounds,
Day Day two, Day one and Day two, everything was
done by like one o'clock.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
The only thing that I saw was Rory talking crap
about Bryson.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Oh do they hate each other? It's amazing at each other.
What But did you see what he was talking about?
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yeah, because he stepped on the grass right to like
to help his back like.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah, his backswing, so like you know, the balls in
all this grass, he's going behind it, like hey, looking
grass really really tall, knee high, and he gets behind
the ball and kind of looks like he's looking at
the angle of his shot, but he's stepping that way
he can kind of push all that grass down, so
when he swings, that backswing has an open air, so
(28:30):
which is illegal. But then Scheffler comes out afterwards and says, like,
I knowed Frys he's in cheat. He's not a cheater,
and so it may look like he's doing that, but
he's probably just looking at his angle. But I mean,
if you look at the footage, Kevin, he is stomping
on that grass.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Rory wasn't having a Sheffler approach. He was like, we
don't like each other, right, you know. And also it
was the clips I was watching was we'll even show
up the next day, bright person. Yeah, I'm a two
stroke penalty shop penalty.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
It's brutal, but he finished in the top ten. I think, right,
I'm telling you I cared nothing about that. And the
guy who won, Ryan Fox.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Doesn't he play so slow?
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Like just his tempo was or he plays so fast?
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I just saw people complaining about his tempo.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
I didn't notice anything different. That's interesting. Did people complain
about it?
Speaker 2 (29:18):
You can put his face up, I wouldn't know.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
He was No, no, no, he's definitely one of those.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Think he won race Papa Shot. I think it was
the same guy they won that. What do you see?
Speaker 6 (29:27):
What's the first videos in AI where he's got a
weed wactor just blowing it down. But no, it definitely
looks like and you know, you can tell when somebody's
like trying not to be obvious but they're being obvious. Yeah,
that's what it looks like. He's like stomping on it
but not looking at it, but just kind of like
stepping around.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
He does seem like Bryson. He seems like everything he
does is calculated entertainment.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Very much so, to the point where I think he
hired a PR team from what I heard, to make
him more likable when he started doing the YouTube stuff
because he was hated by people that watched by people
he played with. He started shooting the YouTube videos could
be wildly inaccurate here, but just the things that I've
heard and read. But he hired a team to make
him more likable, and so then people started watching his
(30:11):
YouTube videos. I like this guy, he's so relatable, and
but sometimes that stuff trickles out still like the real him. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that he does seem very calculated.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Dude. It's interesting because there's such a magnifying glass on
these players during these like during these tournaments where Scheffler,
there was a moment there at the end, like the
very final day where he hits it in the rough
again and he's just like why, why, like what are
you doing? Like and it was like no judgment because
we all do that, but he sounded like such a baby,
(30:43):
like a little puss that I was just like, I
can't believe we're watching this. And I feel for him
because I mean, he was truly frustrated with himself at
that point.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
I think Tom Brady is just ruining himself.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
What's he doing?
Speaker 6 (30:56):
Done? Dude, done?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
That's your dude, an attics fest, he's there. I got
no problem with that, do your thing, make your money.
But he starts talking about how he can wrestle, and
then him and Jake Paul get malthy on stage and
he slaps Jake Paul. Yeah it's so fake, it's all
just wrestling. And then it shows them at the World
Cup flipping each other off. Yeah, like continuing to push that.
(31:18):
I liked it when Tom Brady was just a super
Bowl champion who worked hard, who did everything right, ate
his vite him and said his prayers. I might be
whole cooking, but still it was. Now that we're seeing
like these layers of him as a person.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
It's bad. Like I think the majority of people now
are on the same page that we've been talking about
for a while now, where it's just like dude, take
a break, go get married again, or something like you
are bored and you have too much money, just could
do something else for a little bit. Like Peyton Manning
is perfect in a few commercials, you know, does the
Manning cast just enough where you're like, yeah, he's still
(31:53):
Peyton Manning.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Peyton Manning also isn't single. And yes, you know, with influencers,
i'd probably doing the same thing. But no one has
any sort of relationship with my identity as being like
super champion guy, no nonsense, He's all nonsense now, Tombody's
(32:14):
all nonsense.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
The slap was it's so bad, it's so weird. And
then when they were flipping each other off back and forth.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
Yeah, and he's and Brady sitting with his son flipping them.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Off with his kid, yeah, behind his back, and this
is weird.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
And now I'm not gonna whatever. Do whatever you want
to do, but it's just not the image that we
were fed.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
For so long. So it's so weird now. Yeah, and
it just keeps getting worse and more weird. That's the crazy.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
He needs Bryson's Team PR Team to bring.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
So you didn't like his wrestling walkout Coffin that I
didn't mind.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
The Coffin thing was stupid because he comes out like
the Undertaker and he raises up theatrics. Don't mind that.
He's just like, look, it's cool Tom, Tom freaking Brady
quarterback of all time. But then once it got to
the slap and those two and he's like, I tried
to whatever that all the other things he's done too,
she's kind of lame.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Now, did you see him hit that punching machine. Though.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
Yeah, he did hit it hard. I was surprised he
did that on camera, like credit, because even to try that,
because if you don't hit it hard, everybody's gonna post
it and you're gonna look like a wimp. So he
hit it hard.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
I thought Bieber hit it hard.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
John Ceen, I you see him hit it. You ever
see a video of him hit anyone? Uh crushes it? Yeah,
Bieber hit it hard. Bieber hit a bunch of three pointers.
You see him hit threes?
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Yea, I see that.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
I saw him kick field goals.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, actually yeah it was good. Okay. I
moved to Kaitlyn Clark. She's now the first player on
WNBA history with forty five points and ten assists. She's
still in a minutes restriction. I know she was Night
two anyway for an injury last year, but first player ever.
They are completely botching Kaitlyn Clark and what the WNBA
does not like her. They do not care that suspension
(33:49):
when she got punch in the throat was only because
Adam Silver stepped in and made that commissioner of the
WNBA suspending.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Called her right.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
Yeah, yeah, the commissioner.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Even Nike not releasing her shoe for like two years.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
They're holding it for two years.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
What's coming out this fall? Finally?
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Oh, I got you have it? Yeah, you're right. It's
a huge opportunity to miss.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
She is the face of the WNBA. And then I
watched everybody to scream about how she's not the face
of it. The face doesn't mean the best. The face
means the person people know the league four and so
I think I saw RG three saying she was the face,
a saulid like Portnoy saying she was the face. I
agree more people know her than anybody else that plays
(34:30):
in the WNBA. Yeah, not people that are fans of
the WNBA. But for a league to grow, you have
to have casuals. You have to have casuals. And if
you were to ask somebody who doesn't follow the WNBA,
can you name a WNBA player, They're gonna say Kayla
Clark or Recca Lobo, Sophie Kunahem And then you're gonna
say Rebcca Lobo, she retard twenty years ago. You're gonna like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's Sheryl Soup. Yes, but Kayla Clark is the face
(34:52):
of the WNBA. Yeah, and they continue to try to
make her not be and it's hurting the league.
Speaker 6 (34:58):
It's so weird. It's like they're going against their own brand.
That's the weirdest part.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
They're going against the growing of their brand because well,
you know, and Catlin Clark doesn't want to be a
part of it. She doesn't only part of like being
used as some like political pawns. She's not that right,
and so she's even out sand stop using me as that.
But she's voted the eleventh best guard in.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
The whole in the w NBA.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
Yeah by who was I like a player layer?
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Yeah, it's crazy. So, uh yeah, that's what's up. Canlin
Clark forty five and ten first player to ever do that?
That was in the news.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
Justice for Kaitlin?
Speaker 2 (35:38):
I saw you not on crutches.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Yeah. So over the weekend it a lot of restend,
a lot of recovery, icing, elevation. And the doctor the
other day even told me, he's like, hey, this is
the day two or three I was trying to get MRI.
Couldn't get one because insurance has to approve it off
through three business days.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Stupid.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
But he's like, it's gonna get better. Promise, and like
over the weekend the next couple of days, it dramatically
got better as far as a pain and putting weight on.
I'm still wearing the brain, still limp and can't put
all my weight on it, but i have to walk
like on the outside of my foot. But I'm like,
it gives me so much optimism. How fast it's felt
much better myself. Have to get an MRI and find
out the damage because it's still locked up. I still
(36:20):
can't extend my knee and like straighten it.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
What do you think happened?
Speaker 6 (36:25):
Uh, a meniscus. They keep saying it's either a meniscus
or an MCL like a tear or a sprain, and
just don't know the severity until you get an MRI.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
So a sprain they can let that recover on its own.
A tear yet to surgery.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
You don't have to have surgery in all of them.
It depends on how severe and what part of the knee.
But yeah, if it's a sprain, they're not gonna do
anything except say you have to rest this thing for
a long time.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
Yeah maybe, yeah, a little like exercises, but it could
be like an arthoscopic surgery like we talked about the
other day. Or if there's like acl damage, which it
doesn't seem like there is, because everything seems like it's
pretty much intact, like the big ligaments. Then it could
be anything from just a little arthoscopic like if I
minute surgery, you're walking on the same day too, it's
something deeper that takes months to recover from.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
And I was trying to explain to my wife what
you did, but I really couldn't because I'm like, I
don't know. He stepped weird, he was jumping over a
creek or something. What happened? Creek?
Speaker 6 (37:16):
No, there's like a ledge in my backyard and there's
a table that bumps up against it, and instead of
walking around the table, I just like kind of just
leaped over the table like it's two feet maybe and
that's it. So as I like launched with my weight,
it twisted weird for whatever reason, off of the ledge,
and then once I landed, like I felt the twist,
(37:37):
and then once I landed, that's where the pop came
and I heard, and then I couldn't put any anything
on it, any weight.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
So you injured the one the leg you were pushing.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
On, pushing on and then once I landed, it's like
when it just boem was gone, good luck, you're old.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
I know they're all old, dude. I know.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
I just started golfing again too.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
Nothing heels like it used to. That's the part. I
don't think you get injured more. I just think when
you do, it takes forever to bounce back. For me,
that's been the case if anything is turned spraying, if
there's a creek or a pop.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
Oh, you're jumping over a creek.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Man, It's just like it takes forever. Yeah, and welcome,
Welcome to the club.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
And you can't be like, you know, we're just stubborn.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Guys are like I'm fine.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
Is so like all weekend I just sat around and
it was so hard, and the wife's.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
Got the kids by yourselves, Like, yeah, that would suck
babies in a bust and knee brutal.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
And she was she was upsets, like when are you gonna.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Get better country song? Babies and a busted knee.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Babies and two.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Babies and a busted knee on the acoustic guitar on
the yeah playing live acoustic. Two babies and a busted knee.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
That's right, I.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Guess I type out on the Bobby Bone Show Instagram.
Oh no, I type on everything, So that's how you
know it was me. I'm trying to make that account money.
We weren't making that account money, so you gotta post
pictures to make money. And the one that I knew
would get a lot of engagement.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
M hm, and so is your rage bait?
Speaker 2 (39:05):
No? No, no, I said, whose desk is this? Only
post once will pick a winner. And it was the
Alchemist's book The Crown and the Water Water Burger. I
don't know what even is that table? Sign?
Speaker 1 (39:16):
Yeah, like when your orders ready and so far?
Speaker 2 (39:18):
I just posted it got three hundred and one hundred
and eighty two comments. Dang, but I think I when
I typed it out, I put who who is desk?
Is this? Not who's whatever?
Speaker 1 (39:28):
You can fix that?
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Well yeah, but then everybody in the comments wants to
be like, oh, I know who's shut up?
Speaker 6 (39:34):
Who's running this?
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Now? Shut up? I only posted that to get people
to write for engagement because our social media never makes
any money. Let's see it's making any money now?
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Views two hundred thirteen.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Hey, let's make some money by Nickel something.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
And nicol Okay, so there's that Mike went to Atlanta
to watch a baseball game.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
Yeah, I went to go to see the Rangers play.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
I saw you at Truest Park and then I thought,
why did Mike go to watch the Braves? And then
it was the Rangers were there.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
That's cool.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
Yeah, it's an easy trip, three and a half hours
when you're there.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Did you guys day the night?
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (40:08):
How was it? That was the whole game?
Speaker 5 (40:09):
It was a great game, and then we ended up winning.
There's no better feeling than going as the opposing team
and winning because you leave and everybody else is silent.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
But you're happy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
I don't know. There's so many baseball games. Are people
really upset? Were they upset? When you guys won?
Speaker 5 (40:24):
There was nobody talking and then you just kind of
like fistbulled all the other Rangers fans there on the
way out.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
So it's cool.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Was it so hot? It was so hot?
Speaker 5 (40:32):
Luckily we got seats in the shade, but everybody else
was dying. Like, I don't know how they still charge
you for water at that point because everybody.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Is so hot in sweating.
Speaker 5 (40:41):
You have kids like almost passing out, and then you
have to go pay fourteen bucks for two bottles of water.
I'm like, this should be free or at least buy
won't get one.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
That's a great point because what if somebody gets heat
exhaustion because they didn't bring enough money to have water?
Speaker 6 (40:55):
Like would suck ninety nine again?
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Was there possibly a cup and a fountain somewhere.
Speaker 5 (40:59):
There was like water fountains, but the water in that
was so boiling hot, Like nobody's gonna get like hydrated
from that.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
You're probably gonna get let us diary of two explosion.
They don't even know yet. That's where you get it.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
If the water's warm, you don't get the hydration.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
You do, but no one wants to drink it, drink it.
Speaker 5 (41:15):
You drink in your mouth as well, scolding hot from it.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Like when you're outside, understand and it's hot, you really
want some warm water.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
You don't, but it's hydrating you. It just doesn't feel
like it is.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
Yeah, you just don't drink as much, like drinking from
the hose back in the day, you're like, oh, it's gross.
What else do you guys do? In Atlanta?
Speaker 5 (41:32):
We basically just went to the game, went to go eat,
and then just hung out in the hotel room watch
Papa shot.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Oh you guys watch it? Did you watch on your phone?
Speaker 6 (41:40):
On my I had my iPad because I.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Imagine the hotel didn't have ESPN plus they did.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
It's not there.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
No, I was thinking about buying one of those machines.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
But they're pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
I'm just gonna see if they give those guys one. Yeah,
they're like seven grand dude. But I didn't I want
to put it here because people would break it.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
I wouldn't leave anything here. You didn't realize what.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
They kept talking about the machine, and I was like, oh,
I've seen it a million times, but no, this is
different than one with that whole screen. That's a that's
high quality.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Full screen, counts as it goes. Ye got the timer.
It tells you when you make it. I think Ray
in his house has one that has like wood backboard
and he just shoots. Yea, this one, but it doesn't
move forward and backward. The old school one used to
come forward, like go forward and back at a certain point.
This one, after a certain point just starts counting him
(42:32):
as three points on a setting right Mike. Yeah, So
for a second, I thought should I get in this?
But then I'll get obsessed with it, and then I'll
quit and I'll be like and then once I get
to the point of I feel like in my peak,
I'm like, all right, I've now accomplished this, moving on.
And then I got a six thousand dollars machine somewhere
at the house, just sitting.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
There, donated to something League golf.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
I saw it donated.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
I saw the one.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Eddie outside was like, when we playing any golf? Walking
over here?
Speaker 1 (43:04):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (43:04):
What is thet somebody us played? Was it the Florida?
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Yeah, Florida would be the last time we played.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Yeah, we when do we play? Played?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Though? And before that we played? Yeah, we played a
few weeks before Florida, just one time in a year,
and we were fighting the sun, the sunsetting.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Oh we didn't play a full round.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
We did, We did not.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
I played nine holes with Matt Castle. We were going
to play eighteen. It was so hot. It was a
week had vacation that at nine we were both looking
at each other like you want to pull One of
us has got to say, we don't want to do
this anymore.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
No way, is that hot? Dude?
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Our shirt? We were wet T shirt contest? Really? It
was just we also had to play like eleven. It
was one of those one oh four days and we've
just been putting off playing, so we went to his
club and played in nine holes in It was miserable,
So we play.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Yeah, just let me know.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
You know, it's not let me know because you have
four kids. Yes, you almost can never play.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
You're right, but.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
He's like, let me know, it's like you can almost
never play.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
I feel like Fridays are the days where like I
could do it. If I schedule everything right, I can
do Friday. After we're done with everything, you know, done,
go straight to the course you want to try Friday.
Oh and I think my I think my parents.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
We can't go to mind because you have to be
a member only until one or two pm on Friday.
I guess we could work and talk to you.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Sign up, dude, sign up. Tell me how we're to
pay pretty initiation fee. You can always walk with me
and my kids. I'm okay, so seriously, because like we'll
go to uh like one of the public courses here
and after four o'clock it's just you know, first come,
first serve, and you can just walk.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
You wait in line.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
Usually there's no one there. So we show up and
we're walking after like ten minutes. But I've thought about, like, oh,
I should have my Bobby because it's only three of us.
We can do a foursome. And I'm like, there's no
way he's gonna want to walk eighteen holes.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
I probably won't want to walk eighteen holes.
Speaker 6 (44:55):
There's the last time me walked eighteen holes.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
We can get you can get a push cart.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
I've walked enough, but I don't know the last time
that I've walked eighteen holes. I've walked because like, I
played these events where like Eddie or DJ with caddies
for me, okay, and we'd walk eighteen holes.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
But not like a Munich course where you're just walking
for fun.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
I do that all the time, really don't.
Speaker 6 (45:20):
I don't remember last time I did either. I mean
high school.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
I don't think I'm going to because you can hit
my balls walking.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Oh, if you're playing Ammuni course and you're walking, there's
balls flying all over the place.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
That played with his one guy who's probably in his fifties,
and he was walking, but he only had three clubs
in his bag, so smart, and his bag was tiny.
He's a smart driver smart because it's not I'm pushing
like I have a You.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Want to play with all the clubs?
Speaker 6 (45:47):
Yeah, what if you need a club that you don't have?
Speaker 1 (45:49):
He was playing just fine. He had a driver, a
seven iron, and a putter and a wedge, like four clubs.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
It's pretty amazing in reality. That's probably all we need.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
Really.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Okay, that's it. We forget anything, No no, no World Cup.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
