Speaker 1 (01:11):
This is a podcast called 25 Whistles.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Talking football and they all wear a whistle.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Would you like restaurants to have a no phone section?

Speaker 3 (01:32):
I don't care about that. No, no, that's stupid. I mean,
people want to use their phones. They can use their phones.
That doesn't bother me. Especially people with kids. Dude, let
it rip. I understand what that's like.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
But if you're in a no phone section, you don't
have to be bothered by phones.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
But what's the bother? What's the phone? Like, how does
that bother you? If the person next to you sitting
there is on their phone or using their phone.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Could be sound. It could be they're on their phone.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
I didn't think about that.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Taking a FaceTime. A bunch of things. But do you
know how for a while, back when we were kids,
you could smoke in a restaurant?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Dude, that was crazy.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
You probably never had that.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Dude, Applebee's had a smoking section.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Well, it was a no smoking section first. So you
could smoke in the restaurant and there'd be a no
smoking section. And then it got to where then there
was just a smoking section. So they started to make
it smaller where you could smoke. And then it was
completely eliminated. And so I think possibly this will be
what happens with phones where people just don't want to
be bothered by people on their phones. And also you

(02:35):
can even put yourself in a situation for success. So
you go in, you go into the section with no
phones and then you and your family can't use your
phones because you're in the section of no phones. So
that's how you tell your kids we can't be on
our phones. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
No, but I like them on their phones.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
But I'm saying some people have trouble with their kids,
like with connection. Oh, you're always on your phone all
the time. Okay, we'll go to the restaurant, but we're
going to sit in the no phone section.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
I didn't think about that.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Eddie, are your kids those kids that have the headphones
on the whole time at dinner?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
No.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Because I see that now, I'm like, dang, I feel
bad for those parents, man. They just sit there and
their headphones on the whole time, the kids?

Speaker 6 (03:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Was a thing. So you're talking about older kids, like teenagers?

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Yeah, like 15, 16.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
And they just sit there with AirPods or whatever in
and they literally just don't even pay attention to their family.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
So we don't allow that at restaurants or anything like that.
But yeah, dude, it's a thing. Like they put their
headphones on in the car and I'll be like, hey,
so what happened at school today? And they won't answer.
And I'm like, hey, I'm talking to you. And then
you got to remind, oh, they have their headphones on.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
So is there the expectation, though, that they should be
focused on dad when they get in the car?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
A little bit. A little bit or not, because that's...
To me, it's like you got to be aware. We're
only in the car for 10 minutes. Let's talk.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
But do they know that? Yes. Because if they don't,
it's unfair to go, hey, headphones out.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
But my oldest son, he wears headphones 24-7. Even if
he's not listening to music, he's got the AirPod in there.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
And it's like, dude, you've got to let me know
or be engaged. If we're all in the kitchen together,
take those off so we can talk. Instead of me
having to wave, I literally have to get in front
of him and wave my hands. Hey, I'm talking to you.
It's bizarre, man.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Does he listen to music or podcasts? Music.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
Always.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
What kind of music does he like?

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Hip-hop. Dude, I can just hear it. Like, I'm in
the kitchen, all I hear is.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Through AirPods, you can hear it?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Sometimes. He's got it so loud. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
That you can hear it through AirPods.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
So this is an Eddie suggested segment. What would your
team's headline be this week? Mm-hmm. I'm assuming that you
have one.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So you're a writer, right? You're a writer. Hey, Bobby,
we need a headline. This week about your team. Okay.
Give it to me.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Do we still suck as bad as we once thought?
Because we beat Tulsa last week, but they had a
backup quarterback, and they're a pretty good G5 school. But again,
it was a backup quarterback, and they were celebrating how good.
Look at our defense. They did so great. But it
was a backup quarterback.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
And who do you have this week?

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Texas A & M and College Station. So I'm still
going to go with, do we suck as bad as
we once thought we did?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Okay, I like that. Because there's positive to that headline.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, because we may not suck as bad as we
thought we did.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
We may be getting better. Here we go.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
What about you and the Patriots?

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Probably, can we survive the unicorn this weekend? Because we
played Josh Allen in the Bills.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Oh, man.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
And that man is a unicorn. And we were struggling.
So can we survive?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I think if you wrote that, people would be like,
what do you mean? You need to give more context.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Is he called the unicorn?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Survive the unicorn.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Can we survive Josh Allen? Getting better?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
We're not judging you. I didn't understand what you meant
by unicorn until you said Josh Allen.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Okay, can we, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
How about, do we suck as bad as we think?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, everybody thinks we do.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Will we hit the Drake Mayday this weekend?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
All right, we will come back in a second. We'll
talk to Ted Wynn now, who is on with us.
Joining us is Ted Wynn. Ted's a senior NFL writer
for The Athletic, one of the best film analysts covering
the league. You can check out his podcast called Just Wynn,
which covers the Raiders, and you can check out his work,
The Athletic, which is great. Ted, thanks for jumping on
with us. And since you do specialize in the Raiders,

(06:10):
how do you feel about a 3-0 Raiders start? Where
are we sitting? Are we confident or are we just
waiting for the ball to drop?

Speaker 7 (06:16):
Well, I think it's definitely surprising that they're 3-0 at
this point, especially when you look at where they are
supposed to be.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
In their timeline of development.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
But I think for Raider fans, they should just be
happy that the team is doing things right as a franchise.
You get the number one pick, you get a good
mentor in Kirk Cousins, who's playing much better than anybody
thought he would be. He has nine touchdowns through three games.
And to me, I think the wins are a bonus.
They played Miami, who isn't very good, a Chargers team

(06:48):
that's struggling. And they did beat New Orleans in New Orleans,
but it was a close game. So I think things
will eventually regress to the norm. But I think it's
undeniable that the Raiders are on the right track as
far as just getting back to a competent franchise.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
And we haven't seen that in a long time.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
And those first two wins that you talked about, Dolphins
and Chargers and It's exciting to win those. But week three,
you have Brock Bowers back. That dude is awesome. That's
got to be a real shot to the system in
a positive way moving forward too, right?

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 7 (07:24):
I mean, I think Brock Bowers is one of the
best offensive weapons in the league, period. And he proved
that in a big way coming back. And he's really
just about, he's not 100%. He's probably around 80% to 90%
coming back from knee surgery right before the season. So
I think just watching how the Raiders deployed him as

(07:47):
a wide receiver, I think he only had nine snaps
lined up as an inline tight end. And just watching
him dominate cornerbacks that are pretty decent cornerbacks, that that
was pretty revealing of what kind of weapon he can be.
I think we'll see him line up inside a little
bit more which you can create more mismatches that way

(08:08):
um but i mean just seeing him play the way
he did it just reminds me of puka nakua like
this he's that kind of weapon and can be used
like in that sort of way in.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Your film review of jj mccarthy and we'll move to
the giants what's the best case scenario with jj mccarthy
with the giants and And also, when do you expect
him to actually, if he does, start?

Speaker 7 (08:29):
I think it should be at least a month until
he gets in there. I mean, this is the guy
that struggled to learn the offense in Minnesota, and it's
been years there. So he has to go to New York,
learn a new offense, a new language that he's never learned.
He's never learned before. So it's going to take some
time for him to get acclimated. And, you know, you

(08:51):
want him to be comfortable when you put him out there.
You don't want him just kind of struggling to figure
things out. I think the best case scenario for him
is to play well. And I don't expect, you know,
playing well doesn't mean for him to throw 20 touchdowns
to two interceptions or something like that. But just to
show that he's developed some because he's The reason why

(09:13):
they gave up on him in Minnesota is because there
was a serious lack of development. You just didn't see
improvement from.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Year to year.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
So show that you can get to your second read
a little bit faster.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Show you can throw with a little bit more touch.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
Show that your athleticism can make a difference in an
offense that will ask you to make plays with your
legs as a runner. So I think the best case
scenario for him is to play well, show some improvement,
and ultimately be a backup for Jackson Dart for a
year or two, maybe sit out. And then just kind
of follow along with the Geno Smith, Sam Darnold type

(09:48):
of timeline and reclamation project.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
What's going on with Drake May?

Speaker 7 (09:54):
I think we overrated the Patriots offense last year. This
was a bad offensive linebacker.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Line.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
They didn't have that, that much, many weapons. And this
year the, the weapons are not good, especially with AJ Brown, um, injured.
And you saw, you saw the cracks last year, especially
in the playoffs because during the regular season, they only
played one team that ranked in a top 10 and
points allowed per drive. Um, In the playoffs, they saw
four of those teams and they really struggled to move

(10:21):
the ball. And we saw what happened in the Super Bowl, obviously.
And this season, they started the season playing a bunch
of teams that are really good defensively. And against those teams,
they just can't match up. And I think Drake May
is just pressing right now.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
He's.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
Trying to make things happen he's trying to skip steps
and throwing the ball in places that he shouldn't he's
really pressing he's kind of spiraling mentally um so it's
a snowball effect i think there's a lot going on
i don't think it takes away from the improvements that
he made last year and the trajectory he's on he's
still one of the youngest quarterbacks uh in the league

(10:56):
so um It just doesn't look good right now, and
he needs more support. I don't know how much that
offensive line can improve during the season, but it should
help when he gets A.J. Brown back eventually. But he
just needs a mental reset and to just stop pressing
as much as he is right now.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Overnight saw that Joey Porter Jr. was traded to the Cowboys.
And a lot of that was probably because they couldn't
get the deal done in Pittsburgh. So they were getting
what they could. How do you see this helping Dallas?
And did you think Pittsburgh would get the deal done?

Speaker 7 (11:28):
No, I mean, from everything we've heard, it just seemed
like they were way too far apart. It never seemed
like they got close as far as getting a deal done.
It seemed like that relationship was strained. I didn't know
if a trade was going to happen or not. But yeah,
it just seemed like things were just too contentious between
the player and the team. But for Dallas, they really

(11:49):
need secondary help. I mean, I was looking at this
cornerback group before the season, and it's one of the
worst cornerback groups in the league. So I don't think
Porter is a top-tier corner, but he's probably in that
second tier of corners, but he wants to get paid
like one of the top corners, which is why Pittsburgh
wanted to trade him and kind of struggled to find him.

(12:10):
trading partner for a while until Dallas finally gave in
and gave him that second round pick, even though it's
in twenty twenty eight and twenty twenty seven. Those picks
are just very valuable right now. But it does give
Christian Parker, the Cowboys defensive coordinator, some flexibility with the secondary.
Maybe Caleb Downs moves away from the nickel and back
to more of a free safety. We'll see how they

(12:34):
move things around, but they just desperately needed some talent
and If you have a guy that you can trust
in one-on-one coverage, it just allows you to do a
little bit more from a coverage standpoint as far as
helping in other places. And I think Porter just really
fills that need nicely for them.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
The NFC East feels odd because Washington, probably not good.
The Eagles, I don't even know what's happening there. The Giants,
they lost their quarterback. And here we are with the Cowboys.
Can the Cowboys win that division?

Speaker 6 (13:07):
Definitely.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
I mean, when I watched that Ravens game, I came
away really encouraged. I mean, the offense looks like it
can be that elite offense we expected them to be.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
They could run the ball. Tyler guiding their left tackle.

Speaker 7 (13:19):
That is kind of a developmental project that's been a
little disappointing last couple of years.

Speaker 6 (13:24):
He looks awesome. He looks like he's taking the next step.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
So if you have Tyler Guyton, who may be becoming
a star at left tackle, and you get your left
guard back, Tyler Smith, who's an all pro, that can
be a really good left side of the line that
we know about all the other talent they have. the
offensive side of the ball. So I think it's going
to be an elite offense. And I think defensively, obviously

(13:46):
we know about all the struggles they've made, but they
had some good stops against the Ravens, and I don't
expect them to be.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
A good defense.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
But if you could finish around that 20th range in
several major defensive categories, that's going to be good enough
with how good this offense could be. And obviously adding
Joey Porter is going to help that.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Let's go back to the Raiders for a second, since
it's your specialty and talk about Fernando Mendoza. What's he
feeling right now?

Speaker 7 (14:15):
I mean, I think if you're Fernando Mendoza, you should be...
I think he's genuinely happy that the team is winning.
And I think having a mentor like Kirk Cousins, who
plays the game the right way, and just watching him
execute this offense and watching him read these defenses and
be so confident in where to go with the ball quickly,
it's just a great learning opportunity for him. So.

(14:41):
I think, of course, he wants to play. But I
think as far as just sitting back and watching a veteran,
there's probably nobody better than Kirk Cousins, especially in Kubiak's system.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
You watching the Raiders on film and they have a
big game with Kansas City coming up. How do you
feel like they match up against what Kansas City does offensively?

Speaker 7 (15:01):
Yeah, this is going to be a really difficult game
for the Raiders. This is going to be by far
the best team that they've seen. It's going to be
by far the best quarterback they've seen. I mean, Patrick
Mahomes looked a little rusty in week one, but ever
since then, he's playing some awesome ball as far as
just layering the ball over defenders. really becoming a dangerous

(15:21):
play-action quarterback, which was a little bit of a question
because it's something he didn't do at a high volume before.
But now that they have Kenneth Walker and his run
game going, he's really taking advantage of those play-action opportunities.
And for the Raiders, their run defense was a question
for them coming into the season, but they've been a
lot better than even I expected. And some of that

(15:44):
comes to Tonka Hemingway's Their third-year defensive tackle making a leap.
They signed a defensive tackle, Fatukasi, who's a six-year veteran.
He's been awesome for them. But it's going to be
really put to the test against this Chiefs offensive line
that's playing maybe the most physical brand of football in
the league right now. They're doing that without Josh Simmons,

(16:06):
their left tackle, who they drafted in the first round
last year. So it's going to be a difficult challenge
going against this run game. And this elite quarterback, who's
really good at sniffing out blitzes, and the Raiders have
been able to take advantage of some of these quarterbacks
that they face with the blitz, it's going to be
much harder. against Mahomes and defensively uh speaks Steve Spagnuolo

(16:26):
is one of the best blitzers in the league I
think Kirk Cousins is going to be able to sniff
out some of those blitzes uh but coverage is going
to be much tighter I expect a pretty high scoring
game though um they just don't have anybody that could
guard Brock Bowers 101 not a lot of teams do
um so I think it's gonna be a high scoring
game um but it's by far the Raiders biggest challenge
of the season they've seen so far Where do.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
You land on the Brock Purdy conversation where this is
an MVP type start of the year, but obviously you
hear the people go, well, he's just a product of
Kyle Shanahan. Brock Purdy to you is what?

Speaker 7 (16:59):
Yeah, I mean, I think you cannot deny the Kyle
Shanahan effect because we've seen it too many times. Like,
Jimmy Garoppolo looked like a borderline all-pro in his offense,
and then he leaves the system and he becomes a third-string,
second-string quarterback elsewhere. And, you know, we've seen that with
Nick Mullins. And there's certainly a Kyle Shanahan effect to
Brock Purdy's success, but I think he's playing so well

(17:21):
right now, and he's also making— Really good second reaction
type of plays outside the structure of the offense. And,
you know, like he just I think he's only got
sacked once this season. He has one turnover, which was
a major sticking point and criticism I've had of Brock
Purdy for a long time was his turnover rate. He
last year was his highest turnover rate he's ever had.

(17:44):
I think it was like 4.8 or something, which is
twice that. the league average. This year, he's cut that
down completely. He's only thrown one interception. He hasn't fumbled.
So to me, he is playing MVP type of football.
He's playing at such a high level that it's hard
to separate him from the system right now. And I
don't think we should with the way that he's making
plays outside of structure.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
So to me, he is the MVP leader as of
right now.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Okay, two questions. Is there any chance the Browns aren't terrible?

Speaker 7 (18:15):
I mean, I like Todd Monken as a offensive coach.
I thought he did a pretty good job in Baltimore.
I mean, and obviously... we don't know how that translates
to being a head coach. Um, but he has them
at two and one, the defense looks like it's better
than people expected. It was going to be without, uh,
miles Garrett and Deshaun Watson. Isn't playing that well right now.

(18:38):
I mean, he's playing a little bit better than expected,
but they're still finding ways to move the ball. And
I really liked the receiver duo with Denzel Boston and
Casey conception. Um, I think this team is just a
quarterback away from being really good. And the infrastructure looks
like it's going to be there. So I don't think

(18:58):
they're terrible.

Speaker 6 (18:59):
I really don't. I think the infrastructure is there.

Speaker 7 (19:01):
I think Deshaun Watson is really weighing them down, even
though he does have his moments at times.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
So to answer your question, yeah, the Browns are better
than people expect.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
And if they're able to get that quarterback with the
high draft pick or trade or whatever it is, I
think they're going to get great. they could move towards
being a good team as soon as next year.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
And my final question, were you a high school football coach?

Speaker 6 (19:23):
I was.

Speaker 7 (19:24):
I coached high school football I played quarterback in high
school in an option offense. So I was like an
extra running back, but I knew I wasn't good enough
to play college after. So I started coaching football and
it was really fun, but I did not like the
teaching aspect of it. Because usually if you're a coach,
you have to be a high school teacher. But I
really did not like teaching. And um i it's a

(19:46):
long story but i found my way to sports journalism
and it's been a blast ever since so.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
When you say teaching at first i thought you meant
like teaching the players but you meant going into the
classroom and having to teach history yeah.

Speaker 7 (19:56):
Exactly and what i mean i taught i taught pe
and i taught english pe is just kids don't want
to run these days and english you got a great
too many papers.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Were you a head coach assistant coach how for how
high did you get up.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
I was an offensive coordinator for a while, and then
I wanted to be a head coach, so I moved
down to the JV level to be a head coach
for a while. And we went 8-1 and 7-3, and
those were my last seasons.

Speaker 6 (20:23):
So I just ended on a high note.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
That's so funny. Do you miss it at all?

Speaker 6 (20:28):
I do. I really miss it.

Speaker 7 (20:31):
It's something I want to do in the future, but
like during football season when you have to write and
do all these podcasts and it's just impossible to do
it with the time demands.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Well, I really enjoy your stuff on The Athletic and
I hope that you guys go and check out the
podcast Just Win. And that podcast is you and a
former player, right?

Speaker 7 (20:49):
Yeah, Marshall Newhouse, who was a right tackle for the
Raiders for a while. And it's been a blast having
him as part of the podcast. We've cycled through co-hosts
for different reasons but ever since Marshall has joined it's
been awesome and fans have really enjoyed him.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Well Ted we really appreciate the time thank you and
hopefully we'll talk to you again soon alright thanks for
having me on alright there he is Ted Wynn you
guys check out Just Wynn also check out his work
at theathletic.com before Ted came on Eddie you have to
do your headline.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
My headline I think Ted kind of hit on that
a little bit I think we're going to go with
Jerry Jones has not given up on this season That
was refreshing to see happen, this trade, because you look
at the season, you look at the defense, and you're like, gosh,
everyone's hurt, man. We don't even have a defense. We're
pulling people from the practice squad up to play. We

(21:40):
have no one, and then he makes a trade. I
feel like he's still in it.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
We shouldn't have been rude to you about your headline.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
Thanks, guys.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
We just didn't understand when you said, can you beat
the unicorn? If I saw that, I would think, what
are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (21:51):
And if his nickname was the unicorn, that would work.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
We shouldn't have been mean to you, but it was
still stupid.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Both can be true, I guess.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
Both can be true. I was trying to think of
another one like the whole time. I just like, dang,
anything I say now, they're just going to rip apart probably.
What if it's like Drake may or may not, parentheses,
probably not.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
That's so good.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Oh, man.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Dude, that's so good.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
I was thinking about something with Diana Rossini in it,
but I was like, ah, that's a problem.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
You don't want to go there. Now Rossini, now you don't.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Now Rossini, now you don't. Mike Grable's in a torturous peril. Yes. Mike,
what do you think about Texas? What's your headline there?

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Texas is back.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Maybe.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yeah, Texas is weird because they're winning and they've won
two good games, but they don't look good.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
No, it looks like we could fall apart at any moment.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
But also, I'm so biased. Like, it's unfair for me
to say that because I hate Texas. So.
I will say to my biased eyes, my anti-burn orange eyes,
you don't look good. Because it was like, Ohio State,
we looked awesome. And then came back, UTSA kind of struggled,
looked bad last week.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
It just doesn't feel like it's there.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
May I say this? Can I speak freely? Yeah. You
didn't look good against Ohio State for the first two
and a half quarters. But you won, so who cares?
It does not matter.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
And Tennessee's a legit team, dude.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Tennessee's defense is good. Yeah, I hear you. I think
probably the want in my heart doesn't allow me to
see that they could actually be good. But I don't
feel like Arch has played that well. Yeah. And I'm
an Arch guy, so I don't have hate in my
heart for Arch. Who do you guys have this week? Nobody. Oh,
you have the Red River next week, though. That's what

(23:33):
it is. Who do you guys have?

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Patriots?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
We got the Unicorns.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Oh, Josh Allen. That's why I don't even remember. Unicorn.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Like, who is that, dude?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
And you guys have the Texans.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Texans, a noon game.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
I like to have the noon game.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
You do?

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Yeah, not all eyes are on you. I have a future.
I don't get angry if there's other games to take
out some of the, if I'm winning in other places
and just losing that one. Because if it's only the
Cowboys and you're losing by yourself, it's all I have
is being upset at that game.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
And everyone's watching it.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Yeah, and then we play A & M. I think
that's a sixth game. 6 p.m.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Game?

Speaker 3 (24:08):
6 p.m. is the perfect time for a college football game.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I know the next week at Tennessee, it's a 3 p.m.
game in Fayetteville.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Oh, man. Are you going?

Speaker 3 (24:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I might.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
3 p.m. is good if you go to the game. Yeah.
6 p.m. is good if you're watching the game from home.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
Yeah, it's at 6.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Good.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Yeah, good.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
So where are you at, ongoing or not? 50-50?

Speaker 1 (24:27):
To what game?

Speaker 3 (24:28):
To the next week. 75-25?

Speaker 7 (24:30):
75-25.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Going?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Wow, that's good. Is this the one we're all going
to or just you? TBD.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Should we tell the family yet?

Speaker 3 (24:39):
TBD.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
I ran it by my wife yesterday. We'll talk about
it later. I ran it by my wife yesterday. That's
all I'll say for now. All right. Let's take a break.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Hey, so Eddie has watched you play the pop-a-shot over
there and does not think you're a good athlete anymore.

Speaker 6 (26:09):
What?

Speaker 3 (26:10):
It's just you've come on here before and been like, oh,
I played football in high school. I was a great
tight end or whatever. And then I saw you shoot
pop a shot. I'm like, this is the athlete we've
been talking about?

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Because of pop a shot.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Well, it's still a form. It's still shooting basketballs, dude.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Okay, so what's so bad about my form or my
shooting that you think is so non-athletic, as we would say?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
It looks like you just learned how to shoot a basketball. Wow.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Shots fired. And then the score, not to mention the
score is pretty.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
I beat you.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Yeah, recently, though.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Anybody can win one, to be fair.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Correct. And pop a shot, you can get lucky, and
they fall in.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
Okay, but how many games do you think you play
a day there right now?

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Oh, they play so much, dude.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Like, I go out, and I get my, because I
have an account now, and so I'll do it, and
it'll go total points scored. Through all the games, like 1,000.
Eddie hits his, like, 7,000 points.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Yeah, I'm here working, like, well after the show, hours
after the show, and I walk around the corner. Him
and Ray are still just getting raised, like, in a
tank top, full of sweat. Eddie's getting his in. Dude,
give me a day or two. Well, no, first of all,
I could beat you right now for sure if we
go play one-on-one.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
1,000%.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
1,000%. Eddie does crumble when the pressure's on.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
True.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
So I think if you challenged him straight up and
it was... for something like pry and people were watching,
I think he'd lose.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
We should play for something.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Okay. Let's play for something.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
What do you want to play for?

Speaker 3 (27:33):
A hundred dollars. Oh, come on.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
You went big dog right away.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Big time high school athlete versus a casual.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
I'm in. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
We almost have to go and shut it down and
let you guys play to come back.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
And see who wins.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
I like it.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
And no warmup game before.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Correct, for $ 100. Okay, so this.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
Can't be like, I don't know, later on where Eddie's
already played like seven rounds.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
No, no, dude, right now.

Speaker 6 (28:03):
Cold.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Okay, and then we'll do like 10 more minutes here.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
I got the camera.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Okay, I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
We'll do like 10 more minutes here, and then we
will go do it, and then if you're listening, you
won't know the difference. Yeah. Then we'll just come back and.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Say what happened.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Dang.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
For $ 100.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
$ 100.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Are you in?

Speaker 5 (28:18):
Are you scared? No, I'm not scared. I just can't
believe you throw out $ 100 right away like that.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
That's how confident I am. Dude, I've seen you shoot
over and over. I'm like, I got this.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Eddie, you have to go first.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Or, no, I'll let Kevin pick. Do you want to
go first or second? Because here's what you should weigh.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
That's a good question.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Well, don't coach him.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Well, if you go first, obviously he's going to know
what he has to beat. But also if you go first,
the pressure is on him.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Yeah, that's where my mind is at. Like, okay, that
even adds more pressure because if he sees a score
when it's like going to be 130, whatever I get.

Speaker 7 (28:52):
130?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I'm just kidding. I've never got 70.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
I think my highest score is 68, I want to say.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
So, yeah, I'm going to go first. Put the pressure
on them.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Cool. And that's fine with me.

Speaker 6 (29:08):
Dang.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
It's on.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Is that a free hundred bucks for you?

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Oh, yeah, dude. And then going into the weekend with
gambling money, this is the best.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
You're already losing gambling money.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Hey, I see that Tennessee's doing the, hey, come early.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
And we'll cut down beer prices and food prices again.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Yeah, their happy hour.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
They did it last week because the president was there
and they knew it'd be hard for people to get in.
And so they said, come early then. And if you
do that, we'll cut all the concessions down half price.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
That's cool.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
And so people did it. at 9 to 10 a.m.
happy hour 50% off food and drinks and what time
is the game.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
Well that was last week for the 11 a.m. so
it depends what time the game is okay but if
it's like an afternoon game or a night game I
believe they opened three hours before and it's like the
first hour is 50% off like they did last week
which would.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Be awesome I was talking to my wife about the
football game because I said hey I I'd like to
take the guys over at least for one game this year.
And she said, okay, well, when do you want it
to be? I said, I don't know, maybe Tennessee. And
so then what she said back to me was, well,
you also got to pick a game for us to
go over because some of your people want to meet Billy.

(30:18):
And that's the closest that they can get up there
to that. And so the weather will actually be pretty good.
And I think if I make you guys go, it
should be a little colder.

Speaker 6 (30:27):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
That doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
We'll also be in a suite anyway for the most part.

Speaker 6 (30:33):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Heating anyways.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
So I wouldn't want to waste good weather if I
can get Billy and the baby and like any of
my family that wants to come up.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
That's a good point.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
The baby's way more important than we are.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
So I'm not sure about it yet, but I don't
even know that I'm going for sure to Tennessee. But
I mean, if we don't look terrible against Texas A & M,
I'll go for sure. If we look terrible, it's 50-50.

Speaker 7 (30:58):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
They do play at Vanderbilt.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
They play Texas A & M this week. The next week,
it's in Fayetteville, Tennessee. The next week, it's here versus Vanderbilt.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
And you're going to that for sure, right? Yeah, right
down the road.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
I would think so. I have plans to go. But
that's different because that's not my stadium. I don't have
the keys to the facility here. Where there, I can
just go, hey, I'm coming. And we'll just go and
sit in the suite or go on the sideline before
the game. Whatever we want to do. Here, we can't
do that. It's not our field.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Yeah, Coach Lee, though. Kind of give him a little ringer?

Speaker 1 (31:32):
I'd have to go down on the Vanderbilt side, though.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
I was going to say, maybe wear your hog stuff
over there.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
If that were the case, I'd have to do that.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Then we got South Carolina and LSU and Fayetteville in November.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Dude, South Carolina sounds like a good one we can
go to.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
Yeah, you know both coaches.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
We make a win that one, too.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
I know.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
I don't know if we can win anything, man. We'll see.
I'm drinking the Kool-Aid a little bit. I did a
post on Twitter yesterday where I was saying, Hey, it's
okay to drink the Kool-Aid if you're a Razorback fan
because this may be the only Kool-Aid we get to drink.
Like if you're walking in the desert and you get
the only drink of water, you're going to have to
drink as much as you possibly can because you may
not get more water. And so I was kind of
living with that.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
That's how I feel.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
That's a good mindset.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
It's a sad mindset.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
Yeah, but at least you're.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Being a little bit of positive in that mindset. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
Colts and Commanders are the London game this week.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Oh, we have an early one. Okay.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
That's funny. Brandon, too, he thought the Rio one was
going to be early in the morning.

Speaker 5 (32:25):
Yeah, it was like 7 in the morning.

Speaker 6 (32:27):
I'm like, all right.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Turn on the TV.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Nothing. Yeah, so that'll be the early one. This week,
Cardinals and Giants. Nobody cares. Patriots and Bills. Unicorn game.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
That's right. Labeled as.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Yeah, that's noon. Jets and Bears. Nobody cares. Cowboys at Texans.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
A few people care.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Texans have to win. Cowboys need to win.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Cowboys need to win.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
That's an I quit match. Like, whoever loses that should
just quit and tank for a good quarterback next year.
I guess the Cowboys wouldn't tank for a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
We wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
No, no, because we're good with Dak for a little bit.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
But.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Tank for a high pick.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Yeah, a high pick because.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
For a defensive player.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Because we're giving so much.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
But also with the Cowboys, they can lose this because
that entire division sucks so bad. Yeah, that's true. You
could probably still lose this one and still be in it.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
I told you guys. Our division's wide open and the Eagles,
you guys are like, oh, you're going to lose. Dude,
we could honestly beat the Eagles this year.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Rams at Eagles. If the Eagles don't beat the Rams,
they quit.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
They quit.

Speaker 5 (33:28):
Everybody in the NFC East just quits.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
The Packers at Bucks. I mean, that's a battle of
two terrible teams.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah, and then is Baker out?

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yes, three weeks or so, right?

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Titans at Ravens. Terrible game. It's a terrible game.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Yeah, I mean, that's a good one to bet.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Why the terrible games i don't like betting really.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Yeah i feel like the titans oh you feel like
titans gave us like a little glimmer of hope there
for a little bit you know like oh maybe they
offensively maybe they can do something and then they just
craft it again so i feel like that's a good
one like the ravens are gonna just demolish them.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Eric kenner of three touchdowns yeah oh.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah uh jags bangles that's a good one that's a
good that might be the game of the week so
far yeah Dolphins at Vikings. Chiefs at Raiders is only
fun because the Raiders are 3-0.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
And the Chiefs, right? They're two 3-0 teams playing.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah, but we expect that from the Chiefs. Usually that
would be a terrible game. We don't care. It's in
the division. The Raiders should suck, but they don't. So
that will be fun because they're possibly okay. Chargers at Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Bad game.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Broncos at 49ers, that may be the game of the week.
Then Lions at Panthers, not the game of the week.
Falcons at Saints, not the game of the week. So
I think we're looking at Broncos at Niners. I'm going
to put Chiefs and Raiders in there only because it'd
be rude not to.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
You don't want to be rude.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
It's two undefeated teams. I don't want to be rude.
Jags at Bengals. I can't put the Cowboys and Texans, dude.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
No, it's okay. I don't think America's watching that game anyway.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
America's watching when the Cowboys play.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Cowboys. At noon, though, I feel like a noon game,
you might need a Sunday ticket for that game, honestly,
if you don't live in Texas.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
No chance.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Really?

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Cowboys are always a national game, right?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Not always. That's why I got Sunday ticket, because there
are like three games that are not going to be national.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
So the noon game of the week is the Jags
at Bengals. The 325 game of the week is going
to be the Broncos and 49ers. Nice. And then the
Monday night game, it's the Falcons again. Wow.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
I like it in all these primetime games.

Speaker 7 (35:44):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
They have eight quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
You let them do that.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
They might be decent, though, with Pennix. They actually played
pretty well last week. They're playing the Saints.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
We'll get hit.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
So football season's heating up, and every week feels bigger
with DraftKings. The DraftKings sports app is now live in
all 50 states. That means from Texas to California to Florida,
every fan is in on the excitement. The big games
this weekend in college, No. 7 Alabama at No. 16
Mississippi State. That's going to be a fun game because
we're going to see just how good Mississippi State is.

(36:16):
They shouldn't be good, but they have a really great quarterback.
What's funny, too, is in the press conferences, and they
shouldn't do this, but they've asked him, hey, where do
you think you're going next year? And he went to
Mississippi State for a reason. He's a diehard Mississippi State fan.
And so I kind of hate that for him. Yeah.
I would like to see Mississippi State win that game.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Me too.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
They're a poverty program like Arkansas, so I'm kind of rooting.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Poverty.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Kind of rooting for them to do their thing. What's
it like in there with all those cowbells?

Speaker 1 (36:44):
I've never been to Starkville.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Oh, you've never been?

Speaker 1 (36:47):
No. I've been to Arkansas to watch us play Mississippi State.
I've never been to Starkville.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Because they don't stop, right? They ring them the entire game.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
They do. They set a world record recently with those.
41,819 cowbells for the game last Saturday against.
Dang.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
I guess that's why I asked, because that's the game
I saw, and I'm like, God, that seems annoying to
play against.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Well, they tried to set the record that game, so
they all brought them. They had over 50 trained volunteers
to count, and they did win that game. But yeah,
that's the cowbell-ringing world record. Wow. 41,000. They act like, too,
you're not supposed to bring them in.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Oh, like they're smuggling them in there?

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Have you seen that meme where the guy working at
the airport is supposed to be checking people, and he's
just going.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
He's not really even patting them down. He's not even
looking at them. It's got to be what that is
with that. So Ohio State and Iowa is, in theory,
supposed to be good. I do feel like Ohio State
will crush them. I would like for Iowa to win
that game. Florida and Missouri, although Missouri just losing to
Mississippi State, kind of almost who cares. The thing about Missouri,

(37:51):
and I like their coach, They don't beat top 25 teams.
I don't think they have. Maybe not even once in
the past five years. They get ranked. They beat the
teams that aren't. But they never beat the top 25 teams.
BYU at TCU and Miami at Clemson. We keep Clemson
to lose.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
Keeps happening.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
And they keep losing.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
And they keep losing. One app every sport. All 50 states.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Okay, so here's what we're going to do. We're going
to walk out. I mean, we could record the game, Mike.
Do you want to do that? In the audio? You
want to do it with the phone?

Speaker 7 (39:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
I'll do it with this. What was that, a camera?

Speaker 7 (39:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Camera.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
He's got the mic on there already.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
He's ready.

Speaker 5 (39:30):
I got it.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
With the audio? Yeah, let's do it. Okay, you guys
go and set up. Start setting up. Now I'm going
to explain what's going to happen here.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
I'm going to leave the camera on you, okay?

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Okay, you're good. Get loose.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
No warm-ups.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Relax, man.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Yeah, no warm-ups.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Better watch him.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
Yeah, I am.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Okay, so Eddie and Kevin are going out to play
for $ 100, as you heard earlier. I think there are
six little balls that come out of this machine. And
the rule two is if you don't get to 40
within the first 30 seconds, you don't even go to
bonus time. You got to get to 40 points within
the first 30 seconds. If you don't get to 40,

(40:05):
you're done. But if you do get to 40, you
go for another 15 seconds. So that's all you need
to know. I'll be commentating it as we go. And
so we're going to go now and you'll hear the
actual contest and then we'll talk about it after.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
We're going to play standard. Kevin goes first. First kickoff, Kevin.

Speaker 6 (40:24):
Good luck, Kevin.

Speaker 5 (40:25):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Three seconds, two seconds, one second, and go. All right,
here goes Kevin. He's one for three. A little bank
shot there. He's at six points right now. He's at 10.
He's at 12 with 29 seconds left. Now, if you're watching,
you're wondering why I'm talking so much. This is also

(40:46):
being recorded for the podcast. This is why. Kevin's going
right hand only. He's got 26 points with 15 seconds left.
He's got to hit 40 to get the bonus. He's
not going to hit 40.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Come on. Oh, he may come on. He needs another one.
He needs one more to hit 40. He needs one more.
He got it. He got it. He's in the bonus
with 45. All right. Bonus time. 14 seconds left.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
All right.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
He's at 50 points. He's at 56 points. Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
He's at 59.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
He's at 62 with three seconds left. 65, 68. That's
a solid 68. That's really good, dude.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Hold on.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
How do you feel?

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Got a little nervous during it, but you know what? Overall, 68.
I'll take it.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
All right.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
68 is solid.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Now, Eddie, you just watched him play.

Speaker 5 (41:37):
What are your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (41:38):
I mean, that was really good. I expected him not
to hit the bonus. I thought I was working with
going against maybe a 42. 68 is going to be tough.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
All right.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
Here he goes.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
Eddie, for 100 bucks, 68 points. Rarely do you see
this guy turn his hat around backward. He means business
right now.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
And he throws one up for good luck and makes it.
He's in for two, for four. He's at four, six.
He's still at six points. He's missed four in a row.
He's back in. Eight, ten points with 28 seconds left.

Speaker 4 (42:17):
Twelve.

Speaker 7 (42:18):
Twelve.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
His flip is pretty quick. He's getting the balls out
of there pretty quick. He's got 18 points with 17
seconds left. He's at 20. He's got to move, though.
He's at 24 with 10 seconds left.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
26.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
He's got to make some threes or he's not going
to make it. He's at 7 seconds. Six seconds. 32, 35, 3, 2.
He didn't make it. He didn't make it. He didn't
make it.

Speaker 5 (42:45):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
He didn't even make the bonus round.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
I got nothing now. Got nothing. I let myself down.
Now I owe Kevin $ 100. After calling me out.

Speaker 5 (43:06):
After calling me out.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
I'm an idiot.

Speaker 7 (43:09):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
I've never seen you not make the bonus round.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
I know. I mean, I went cold.

Speaker 6 (43:14):
He went cold, too. I get it.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
They weren't falling for me. You know, a pop of
shot's a game of just the ball falling through the hoop,
and it just wasn't falling for me.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
I've never seen you not make the bonus. Would you
say some of that, though, is because you have a
tendency to not perform whenever the pressure's on. Would you
say that was that?

Speaker 3 (43:28):
No, no. It's just not my day. Not my day.

Speaker 6 (43:31):
We all have those.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Good days, bad days. Today was a bad day.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Are you disgusted with yourself?

Speaker 3 (43:35):
Yes, dude. I want to get out of here. Get
that camera out of my face.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
All right.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
You're the winner.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
How do you feel right now?

Speaker 5 (43:40):
Man, I feel great. I can't wait to tell my
parents about this, my wife about this, my kids. I
don't think they've been more proud of their dad, honestly.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
And this is all on camera.

Speaker 5 (43:49):
I know. And mind you, he challenged me.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
He said you were so unathletic.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
He said I was unathletic. I couldn't play pop a shot.
And he couldn't even make the bonus round.

Speaker 6 (43:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
$ 100 was his idea.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
And the $ 100. He could have said $ 5.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
Exactly, and I would have taken it. But he started
with $ 100. He was so confident. And then he couldn't
even make the bonus round.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Wow, there we have it.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
What a game. What a game indeed. I've seen it all, folks,
from the Papa Shot here at the studio. That's Bobby
going back to our podcast now. All right, back in.
You just heard what happened. You heard the post-game interviews.
Eddie's pissed.

Speaker 5 (44:30):
It's all quiet over there.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
What's your Venmo, Kevin?

Speaker 5 (44:32):
Oh, you know my Venmo.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
Are you so shocked?

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
I didn't expect it going that way at all.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
He put up a good number. He did.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
He really did. He went from almost missing the bonus
to just nailing three in a row to get to
the bonus.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
And you missed the bonus.

Speaker 4 (44:49):
I did.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
I couldn't get there. It's one of these things, man,
where you fall behind and then you look at the clock.
I make the mistake of looking at the clock. And
then when I start looking at the clock, I know
I only have 10 seconds or 5 seconds, and I
just freak out.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
Does that $ 100 hurt?

Speaker 3 (45:04):
It hurts in the way that I'm just going to
have to not make so many bets this weekend.

Speaker 5 (45:08):
Are you going to make any this weekend?

Speaker 3 (45:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
Are you sure?

Speaker 3 (45:12):
Yeah, I'll do my dollar parlays, but I can't do
the big live bets that I like to do.

Speaker 5 (45:16):
I need to know. I'm with you. I bet $ 3,
$ 5 here and there. What made you go to $ 100 immediately?

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Confidence, dude. I've been playing this game every day until
like 3 o'clock.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Every day.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
Dang.

Speaker 5 (45:29):
And I play like maybe once a day.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
So that would mean you're more of an athlete. You
should get him to sign this sheet because he wrote in,
Kevin always comes on here and talks about how good
of an athlete he was in high school. I saw
him play pop shot and he's terrible. He blamed it
all on his injuries. Kevin is a fraud.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
A fraud?

Speaker 2 (45:45):
You call me a fraud?

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:48):
Can I get you to sign that and put $ 100
right next to it?

Speaker 3 (45:51):
Sounds about right.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
Pin it there.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Other things. Did you see the pointing fever fan? Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
That's so dumb.

Speaker 7 (46:01):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
So, if you didn't see the game, it was the
fever and... Who does Asia play for?

Speaker 3 (46:10):
I think it was Vegas. Did she play for Vegas?

Speaker 1 (46:13):
Vegas.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Aces, I believe. Yes. Okay.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
So, the fan was pointing and Asia... What's her last name?

Speaker 3 (46:23):
Wilson?

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Yeah, that's right. She's the best player in the WNBA. Like,
no doubt about it. She goes into the stands because
she's like the guy pointing at me. I feel like
that's what every fan does to every player on the
opposite team during every game.

Speaker 5 (46:37):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
And so they, for a second, kick him out of
his seat, but then they put him back in and
they go, he didn't do anything wrong. Yeah. And then
the press conferences are going, no, you can't point at me.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
It's a fan.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
Fans do point and say stupid stuff the whole game.
And if it's so bad, they get kicked out.

Speaker 5 (46:53):
Yeah, not even like flipping her off, like just pointing.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (46:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
And he said, like people were sitting around him, said
that all he said was, that was on her. That
was on her.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
And once it became a big story, we started to
see other viewpoints, like from the backside. And you see
him as clear as day do what he did, which
was nothing.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Nothing.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
Nothing that a fan of an opposing team wouldn't do
to every opposing player. That was wild to me.

Speaker 5 (47:22):
The funny part, too, in the video from the opposite
end of the court, you could see his wife grab him,
get back down here.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
And he did. He got down real quick.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
The WNBA needed new leadership. They will get it. It's
so messy all the time that you can't even focus
on the basketball. Or you can't even focus on the stars.
That's going to be a league where you have to
focus on the stars because the basketball ain't that good.
It's fine. Man, when they shoot air balls.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
They're bad.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
Or they miss layups. Yeah, either that.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
So we're not saying, but you have stars, like really
marketable stars. You can't even focus on them right now
because if it's not politics, it's culture, it's people pointing,
it's everything except being able to put it on the stars.

Speaker 5 (48:10):
Yeah, and that's a star of their league. Asia Wilson.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
She's the best player in the WNBA. She's not. the
most famous player in the WNBA. She was playing against
her that night.

Speaker 6 (48:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Caitlin Clark. So that's crazy. I wrote that as a note.

Speaker 5 (48:24):
Yeah, that was embarrassing.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
Another note that I have is it looks like they're
going to go to the 2014 college playoff. And I've
often said, hey, more games.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
Good.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
I just want more games. It doesn't matter. I think
24 is too much. I think 12 to 16 is good.
We stop at 16. You got the whole top 25
getting in there basically into the playoff. I'm not going
to be mad at it because I do just like,
give me more games that matter. And I like it
that teams aren't out with one loss in the season.

(48:52):
I think that makes a season more fun for more
fan bases longer. I never liked it where if you
lose once early, you're probably out of it. That if
you lost once and you weren't a top 10 preseason team,
you were out. If you were a top 10 preseason
team and you lost once, you still had a chance
to get back in because you ain't going to fall
that far. Like that was always annoying. So I do
like it that you can lose once, maybe even twice,

(49:15):
but we have to get rid of the conference championship
games because why would you want to play in that
and have another loss on your record? and possibly not
be able to make the playoff?

Speaker 7 (49:21):
Right.

Speaker 1 (49:22):
I love more. 24 is too much.

Speaker 5 (49:28):
That's a lot.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
16, I'm okay with expanding it to that. And because
they care what I think, we're in a perfect position.

Speaker 5 (49:35):
We can send them this video.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
Yeah, definitely change their minds.

Speaker 1 (49:39):
Just kind of looking ahead. Obviously, Arkansas, Texas A & M,
we're a 14-point underdog there. Tonight, which is Thursday, the
Steelers are the Browns. The Steelers are the favorite, 2.5 points.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
Those are both of our loser teams in our skins, huh?

Speaker 1 (49:52):
Playing each other, yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:53):
How's the skins going?

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Right now, not great.

Speaker 7 (49:56):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
You probably knew that.

Speaker 5 (49:59):
That's why you're smiling.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
I'm not smiling.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
I'm smiling because I just beat you for $ 100. I'm
not smiling because you guys are losing money. Great athlete
and a jerk.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
That's kind of rude.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
Right now, not great.

Speaker 5 (50:12):
No, I want you guys to win, man.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
I just saw that too, Eddie.

Speaker 5 (50:16):
I want you guys to win.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
You got a little smirk on your face.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
I just saw that too.

Speaker 5 (50:20):
Eddie's just mad at me.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
Pizzeria in Vegas has gone viral on social media for
serving a $ 50 pizza-wrapped cheesesteak. That feeds four people. It's
a Lucia Knows Pizza. It's a full cheese pizza tightly
wrapped around an entire Philly cheesesteak sandwich served alongside cheese
and salsa dipping sauces. A clip featuring the huge mashup

(50:41):
racked millions of views. I feel like you're begging. Heart attack,
creep on in.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (50:48):
Especially if you're like a big fat adult dude. That's
probably all who's going to order that too.

Speaker 5 (50:52):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Like a big fat adult dude.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
So what's the problem that it's just 50 bucks? It's
too expensive? Or just how weird that is?

Speaker 1 (51:00):
It's not a problem. It's what's in it.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
Yeah, that's gross. That doesn't even sound good.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
I like cheesesteaks. I don't like the cheese. I can't
eat the cheese. I don't like all the onions in.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
It, though.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
Before you had your cheese thing.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
I love cheesesteaks with cheese.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
What was your pizza order?

Speaker 1 (51:18):
Pepperoni.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
Just pepperoni?

Speaker 1 (51:19):
Thin crust pepperoni with cheese.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
And nothing more. Anything else? It complicates it. It pollutes it.
Just give me. occasionally I'll do pepperoni with pepperoncini peppers.
Oh yeah. And I hate peppers, but I love pepperoncini peppers,
but pepperoni pepperoncini peppers. What I order now is it's
gotta be vegan cheese because of my issues, but I
order pepperoni with vegan cheese and hot honey.

Speaker 3 (51:42):
Hot honey.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
I never even knew honey worked on a pizza until
I started having honey on a pizza. It's amazing.

Speaker 5 (51:48):
I have had that hot honey, not myself, but I've,
I've ordered it and it is really good.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
It's amazing.

Speaker 6 (51:52):
Really good.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
Pizza man. You ever had, Honey on your pizza?

Speaker 3 (51:55):
Never.

Speaker 5 (51:56):
No.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
In Nashville, they do the Nashville hot chicken pizza, which
is so good. It's like fried chicken on your pizza.
Hot chicken.

Speaker 1 (52:06):
I'm sure it's fine.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
So good.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Eddie, Brian Schottenheimer is 8-11-1 in Dallas. Should the Cowboys
move on?

Speaker 3 (52:15):
Let's just see how the season plays out. But, I mean,
you need time to build a team. Here's my problem
with Brian Schottenheimer. When I watched that Cowboys documentary— with Jared,
with Jimmy Johnson, his environment that he created with the Cowboys,
a Superbowl winning team was like, they hated him. He

(52:37):
would make him do stuff. That was crazy. Like the, the,
the workouts were nuts. Like they couldn't go do things
outside of the, the, the, the team and practice. And like,
he had this like fear in the player, like in
the players, they feared him. Brian Schottenheimer, there's no fear.
It's just like a buddy playing for a buddy.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
You're not going to get that in today's National Football
League landscape with players making as much money as they are.
There are no coaches that make every guy fearful.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
You look at Sirianni, right? He looks a little scary.
Like Sirianni could be a psycho killer sometimes. His eyes
are all bloodshot and he's just like, don't piss him off.
This guy could kill you at any moment. Schottenheimer, he's like, oh,
you fumbled three times? Give me a hug. We're okay.
I don't like that.

Speaker 1 (53:22):
Okay, you can be too much of a player's coach,
but you can't compare the 90s when there was no
social media and players weren't making the money they're making
now to today.

Speaker 3 (53:32):
I just think he's too, like you said, a player's coach.
He's too happy and he's too fine with the way
everything turns out.

Speaker 1 (53:39):
You don't know that he's fine with it.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Yeah, because I watch the clips afterwards. He's like, not
a good game, guys, but that's all right.

Speaker 1 (53:44):
That's fine.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
That's all right. We're fine with it. It's just I
don't like it.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
I hate it after they lose and he goes, we're
fine with it.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:49):
That really ticks me off, too.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Better than Jason Garrett, though.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
Oh, Jason Garrett.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
He was the worst players, like the clapping.

Speaker 3 (53:55):
The clapping, yeah.

Speaker 5 (53:56):
Classic Jason.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
You didn't say that to him when he was on
the show?

Speaker 3 (53:59):
No, I sure didn't. I was even scared when I said,
why did you go to the Giants? All right, that's it.

Speaker 1 (54:07):
What a day. What a game.

Speaker 3 (54:08):
What a day.

Speaker 5 (54:08):
What a day.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
Did you already Venmo him?

Speaker 4 (54:11):
No.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
Not yet. I don't have his Venmo.

Speaker 5 (54:12):
I sent it to you.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
Would you double or nothing him? Oh, God.

Speaker 5 (54:15):
I was just about to ask that.

Speaker 6 (54:16):
No.

Speaker 5 (54:16):
I thought about it.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
It's not on the show. I'm just saying, would you double? Eddie,
first of all, would you double or nothing?

Speaker 3 (54:21):
I'd think about it.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
No, I'm asking, would you right now?

Speaker 3 (54:24):
Like, if I had to answer right now? Yeah.

Speaker 7 (54:26):
No.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
Because it just stings too bad right now.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
Wow, you are not confident then.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Well, not after that. Dude, I swear I thought I
had a chance. When he wasn't going to make that bonus,
I'm like, we're in. And then I just got deflated
when he made that bonus.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
Your reputation, though, is the guy that crumbles.

Speaker 3 (54:43):
No, it's not.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
Not the guy that's not good, but the guy that
when it actually matters, the cookie crumbles.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
When the lights come on?

Speaker 5 (54:50):
Do you wish you would have gone first?

Speaker 3 (54:52):
Nah, it didn't matter.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
You don't want to put the pressure to him?

Speaker 3 (54:54):
It didn't matter, man. My wrist just wasn't feeling it.
My shot was off.

Speaker 5 (54:58):
You have a good flick to the wrist.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Yeah, no, you look good.

Speaker 5 (55:01):
But it just doesn't go in.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
You look better.

Speaker 3 (55:03):
It just doesn't go in.

Speaker 6 (55:04):
Yeah. All right.

Speaker 5 (55:06):
We're out.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
Thank you, guys. We'll see you early next week. Hope
you have a good weekend. I hope you win your bets.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
I hope you get to do some betting.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
Only a few bets.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (55:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Kevin, don't take this one.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
Hey, do you guys speak enough?

Speaker 5 (55:18):
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. You guys know what
Moonshot is?

Speaker 3 (55:22):
Have you seen the Moonshot?

Speaker 1 (55:23):
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
It's like the offer thing they do on DraftKings. And
I was like, that sounds cool. I didn't really understand it.
Put $ 10 on it. It was gone in like two seconds.
Had no idea how I lost the $ 10.

Speaker 1 (55:32):
Well, that's on you then. You didn't even know what happened.
What if Moonshot is a donation?

Speaker 3 (55:37):
It seemed like a donation. I was like, well, that
was fun. All right.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
Thank you, guys. You can watch that on YouTube on
the At 25 Whistles YouTube page. You can watch that over.
We need subscribers. We're starting to hit it a little bit.
