Hey guys, Bobby, here a special episode today. We're looking
back in one of Lunchbox's favorite hobbies, calling nine one one.
That's right, it's the nine one one special. Over the years,
Lunchbox is called nine one one for just about everything.
Sometimes serious, like witnessing a car accident, getting rear ended
on the highway, or reporting a suspected drunk driver. Other times, well,

let's just say as definition of an emergency does not
always line up with everyone else's. I thought it would
be fun to hear all of us calls over again
and all the stories. So here are the segments of
Lunchbox calling nine one one over and over again. Over
the past year, Lunchbox has started to love to call
nine one one.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
And you don't call it as a joke, not calling
in emergency situations. When I see something, I'm the first
to call nine one one. A duy like someone driving
under the influence or swerving all the road, gotta call
nine one. There's a car break in nine one one,
I find a guy lying on the side of the
road nine one one.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
And I'm on that line of is he calling too much?
But I'm glad he's calling. But recently he told us
that a lady had her car broken into at the park.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yeah, we were at the park at the playground and
as she was leaving with her two kids, she comes
back crying and someone had smashed out her window and
broke it into her car. So they had stolen her phone.
Who's there to call nine one one?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
This guy man on the spot and they told you
this isn't really for nine one one.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, they kind of said, we'll send an officer, but
it's not an emergency.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So Scoob Steve, let me ask you a question, how
did you get this audio?

So I reached out.

Yeah, he gave me his phone and showed me where
he called the time, the date and everything, and they
found it and pulled it up and they gave.

One one, Tuesday, January twenty sixth, time, six o six
pm one.

Speaker 9 (02:22):
What's your emergency?

Speaker 10 (02:24):
Oh yeah, I'd like to report a robbery.

Speaker 9 (02:27):
Okay, what's your address?

Speaker 10 (02:29):
I mean I don't know the exact address. It's the
dog park right here, Shelby Community Center. I think it's
twentieth in Lilian.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
Okay, and can you tell me what happened?

Speaker 11 (02:41):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (02:41):
Yeah, we were playing at the park. It was me
and my two kids, and there were some other families
here and one lady with her two kids. She went
to get in her car and someone had busted out
the window.

Speaker 9 (02:52):
Okay, was there anything taken from the vehicle?

Speaker 10 (02:55):
They took her diaper bag, which had her phone and
her wallet with everything in it.

Speaker 9 (03:01):
And is everyone okay? Are there any injuries or anything?

Speaker 10 (03:04):
No, everyone's fine.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
You know, we're just sitting here.

Speaker 10 (03:06):
She's just doesn't have a phone. She's a little shaken up,
you know, she's kind of.

Speaker 9 (03:09):
Crying and okay, okay, well nine one one is usually
used for emergencies only, but in this circumstance, I will
have an officer come into your direction. Okay, okay, all.

Right, thank you so much.

I mean, I sound like it awesome.

Huh.

I don't Is that a robbery though? That's my first question?

Speaker 7 (03:27):
I had to report a robbery?

Speaker 11 (03:28):
Well, I know that robbery and burglary are different. Like
robbery as if you're home, and burglary is if the
house of the car was empty.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, I think so. I think I don't think that
you're reporting a robbery. That's why she was like, is
everybody okay?

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Oh you were reported.

Speaker 8 (03:46):
A b Well, I mean it could be there.

A robbery is nine one one.

Robbery is nine one one.

Burglary maybe it is too. I don't know, but I
thought you did pretty. I don't think you sounded like
a Karen. You did get into a professional voice though,
a little bit, did you guys hear?

Oh?

Yeah, actually I'm glad you asked.

Okay, so, yeah.

A berkeley or burglary occurs when someone enters a place
without the consent, like no one is there to even
do anything. And then a robbery is when someone is
like using force or threatening, so that means someone is
in their presence.

Speaker 7 (04:23):
Heck, we're lucky didn't report a murder and a kidnapping.

Speaker 8 (04:27):
Way to be calm though, in such a tense tour,
especially right, a.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Robbery happened ten feet from where I want. A robbery,
a burglary.

Speaker 11 (04:34):
Burglary happened upon the broken glass. It didn't happen in
front of you.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Well, I mean I was at the playground, the parking lots,
you know, fifteen twenty feet.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Away, So you exaggerated a little bit, but still good
was done.

Speaker 11 (04:46):
Also, heads up, if you go to that dog park
breaking in the windows, there is.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
Calm on the side.

Speaker 11 (04:52):
Okay, it's like heads up of you park here, park
at your own risk.

I'm not gonna say that was a Karen. You didn't
lie a little bit.

I just don't think you knew. I think from that
you learned. Oh I should call a different one one
for this.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Oh yeah, but again you didn't see it though, didn't
you say you just kind of saw it?

Speaker 10 (05:12):

I don't know if I said I saw it. I
just said. She went to her car and the window
was busted out, and she came back.

She was kind of upset, and I love how you're like,
I got this. I'll be the one to call nine
one one.

Speaker 8 (05:20):
I got this. I don't even know you, but I
got it.

You know what, we shall get appot you for this.

Yeah, I get that.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
You and not a Karen there it is okay.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Lunchbox was at traffic light right uh four way stop,
and you see some drama happening in a car where
people are getting out screaming at each other. Like, give
me like fifteen seconds of what you saw.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, a woman honking the horn and it looks like
she was in distress. And this guy's walking around the
outside of the car. So I pull up and I say,
is everything okay? And he says, yeah, we're just in
a disagreement, and she opens her car door, is crying
and says, will you please call in my plates?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Like, call the cops. I'm in trouble.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
So the call seventeen minutes long.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
We've had to edit it, obviously, but here are our
lunchbox of thoughts that he sent over to me. One
I mentioned to see how awesome I sound. I haven't
heard this yet. I was for sure feeling myself as
we chase the car number two going over in my
head it sounded like the people in the movies in
a real intense scene. So that's what he thinks. He
sounds like, Okay, which, by the way, we applaud you

for calling.

Speaker 11 (06:26):
Yeah, right, yeah, But now it makes me think on
the call, he's going to be so overly dramatic.

Speaker 7 (06:31):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Here is the first part of the car. Here's the beginning.

Sunday, June sixth, at seven o six pm.

Speaker 9 (06:38):
What's your emergency?

Speaker 10 (06:40):
Yes, ma'am, I'd like to report a domestic disturbance at
fourteenth and Shelby.

Speaker 9 (06:45):
Okay, com me what's going on.

Speaker 10 (06:47):
I pulled up to the four way stop and there
was a car like a champagne. A su just kept
talking and torn. And when I pulled up to it
and I asked if everything was all right, the woman
was crying and she asked me to call in her plates.
And so the license plate is X three.

Speaker 9 (07:05):
Okay, are you following them? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (07:09):
Yeah, we I'm still behind them. They're one car in
front of me. They're going to be turning left onto Eastland.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Okay, that's the first part.

Speaker 8 (07:19):
YEA like normal normal?

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, yeah, you also know streets. I don't know a
dang street. I can be sitting on a street looking
at the sign right and I'm not sure which sign
going which way means what street I'm mine, and I'm
just like, yeah, going, They're gonna take a two point
two mile block blah blah, black black. And here is
the end of the call. It's about fifty seconds.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
Here you go.

Speaker 10 (07:37):
They're taking a left on the Bridley. So we're going
to be heading west on Briley towards sixty five are
I mean, are the cops coming?

Speaker 9 (07:45):
Like they have been dispatched, so there should be one
headed that way.

Speaker 10 (07:49):
Okay, well, now we are. We are exiting sixty five,
so we will be heading sixty five north. They're pulling away.
They're going pretty fast.

Speaker 9 (07:59):
Now time, I'm going to ask you and advise you
to tweet stop following them to Metro. Have been dispatched
and they'll handle it from here.

Speaker 10 (08:08):
Yeah, they didn't. They got over one lane and they
did not take the exit there.

Speaker 9 (08:12):
Sir, Once again, I need to advise you to quit
following them for your safety.

Speaker 10 (08:17):
Okay, yeah, okay, Well I took the exit and they
kept going straight, so I quit following them, so hopefully Yeah.

Speaker 9 (08:26):
Okay, okay, sir, thank you very much. We definitely we
have it from here. I think you think it's for
calling the same.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
So how do you feel you sounded?

Speaker 13 (08:35):
Man?

Speaker 3 (08:36):
I felt like I sounded pretty good. I felt like
I did a good job of giving her like everywhere
we were, like, I felt like they should have been
on like we should have been there immediately because I
was good.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
I felt like you knew where you were and you
n where they were going.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
I feel like you were just talking to them like, hey,
here's where I am.

Speaker 9 (08:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (08:51):
I wouldn't compare that to a scene in a movie.
I mean, I'm super proud of you and what you
did was amazing, and yeah, how you were navigating through
it all and you stayed close to them for that
long like it's impressive, but it's not a movie.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yeah. Did you think it was a little more intense
in your mind?

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (09:08):
I did.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
I felt like it was like a high speed chase
in a movie, like like a car's getting away and
I'm like, oh no, it's picking up speed. I'm like like, Oh,
we're taking a left and you hear the tires.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
You know, that's what like the movies make it.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
And I felt like I was in a movie because
you watch movies and scenes happened like that, and I
felt like I was living that out in real life.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Where you upset the news and picked us up.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, a little bit, a little bit, like guys, come
on like this is someone's stepping up in their community,
and you always looking for community heroes or something on
the news. Hello, what do you think I was doing?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
There's another story where Lunchbox is upset that I went viral.
Oh this is annoying, And he wrote in parentheses, do
you know how many times I've donated clothes? Like as
his own quote to the story, a heartwarming moment, Florida
A and M College senior gifts clothes and shoes to
a homeless man on the side of the freeway, which
is a great story. Yeah, I have it right here.

(10:04):
A shirtless man later identified as Florida A and M.
Senior Jabari Richardson, can be seen taking shoes and clothes
out of the trunk of his car at a stop
on the freeway. The homeless man wearing a face mask
and equipped to the cardboard signed gratefully accepts the clothes
from Richardson before walking away. He can be seen getting
back in and driving off. And so that's the story. Yeah,

(10:25):
but that's not the story that was sent in for,
like an tell me something good. This is lunchbox going,
I donate clothes. Why have I not been on the news?

Speaker 10 (10:31):
Right?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I mean I've been to Goodwill the homeless shelter numerous
times with old clothes donated, you know, boxes full, and
guess what, there's no one ever filming me saying hey,
this guy should go viral, Like I mean this guy
gives it to one individual, I give it to multiple
individuals by giving it to Goodwill or the homeless shelter.
I mean that means like twenty thirty forty fifty people
get to look at my clothes and pick it and

(10:53):
I don't go viral. So do I need to have
my wife follow behind me and like look at this
guy donating to the homeless shelter.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I mean that is a move, maybe like setting someone
to do it, set up a viral video. Yeah, Like,
I know, you're obsessed with being acknowledged and recognized in
a public forum. Right, that's what would you say. That's
mostly why you do good stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah, that's why you do good stuff is to be
acknowledged and to get you know, recognition for it.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I would say you try to set one up though,
with your with your wife shooting. If you must have it, listen,
I don't care. As long as he does something good
for somebody. I don't care what happens, like somebody's gonna benefit.
So I would suggest you doing that, setting it up
and then bring the video in. We'll tell you if it.

Speaker 7 (11:35):
Looks real or not.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Okay, I'll see if my my wife might may be
against it because she gets embarrassed real easily. But if
we pull up at a stop, why she can be right
behind me and be like, oh, this guy deserves to
go viral.

Yeah, well, I don't think that's what they say.

No, No, like she be like what they.

I believe the person take you.

I don't think you do the same thing. You have
to also create something new ish oh, okay, or if
you really wanted to do it, you have I mean,
you could really stage it, put one of your friends
on the corner.

And then what you do is you have on clothes
and you take off all your clothes, hit your underwear
and give them a tone, and you get back in
the car with just your underwear.

Like, if you want to really go viral, I can

I mean if I saw that happening, and I'd say
that's pretty cool, I appreciate that one for sure.

On Tuesday, we found out Lunchbox called nine one one again,
which this year how many times?

Speaker 1 (12:38):
At least five, which is a lot.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
I don't think I've called it my entire life, but
this one we felt like was warranted. He witnessed an
alleged drunk driver swerve hit two part cars, so he
stepped in and made the call to nine one one.

One one, Friday, August thirteenth of time. It's five pm,

What's your emergency? Yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am. I need to
report there was a I need to report an accident
a car between on Shelby between nineteens and twentieth.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Okay, sir, can you tell me what happened?

Speaker 10 (13:18):
Yeah? I was walking my kids in the wagon. We
were approaching a four way stop and I looked to
my left and there was a white truck and he
was flying going about forty five or fifty and ran
right through the stop sign and then boom, boom, like
it hit two part cars. It lost the wheel and
it's come to a stop about three houses down. All right, okay,
keep coming for me. Now, is the driver in the vehicle, Yeah,

the driver's in the vehicle, like he's just I don't know.
I mean, I don't know if he's he's just sitting
in the vehicle. IM. He's a couple of houses down.
I'm walking that way now.

Speaker 14 (13:50):
Okay, Well you tell him to stay there. Just sit
down in case he's in.

Speaker 10 (13:53):
Sure, sir, just sit down on the curb. He's getting
out of the truck, so he doesn't I don't see
any plot third, Just sit on the curb and make
sure you're okay. Sit down all right now, thank you
for helping, sir.

I'm going to dispat the fire and police they should
be there any minute.

Okay, okay, yeah, all right, thank you so much, thank you.

First of all, great job, Yes, sound good.

And so did the guy sit down when you told
him to?

Speaker 1 (14:32):
No, he didn't sit out, He stood up. He just
stood up, like, yeah, I told you.

That's what That's what she said. She said to have
him sit because I guess maybe like he's hurt and
he doesn't know he's hurt, so he starts walking around.
Then something happens. I don't know, but she said have
him sit down. So I said, hey, sir, sit down,
But he was just like he just stood there.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
Did you ever see cops come out there?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yeah, cops amblance fire, all of it.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
They get him.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Oh, they took him and they checked his vitals everything,
took him back in the the EMS, and I don't
know if they ever arrested him. But I left before
that because I was like, I ain't got time to wait.
It was dinner time.

Speaker 7 (15:08):
Did the news cover this, no?

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Oh, we just did you've one radio show?

Speaker 7 (15:13):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
I did sit there for an extra long while hoping
the news was going to show up, but nothing.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Oh were you waiting to an interview?

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yes, because I was only eyewitnessed only one.

Speaker 11 (15:23):
Well I wonder too, though, now that he knows because
the previous calls we've gotten nine one one audio?

Speaker 8 (15:30):
Is he because this is going to continue?

Speaker 11 (15:31):
But does he give the extra knowing that we're going
to find the audio?

Speaker 7 (15:34):
That's a good question.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Knowing that Scuba Steve can call and get this audio,
do you feel like you give a little because that
one felt like he was given a little more A.

Speaker 11 (15:41):
Little man, I was walking, I thought you about the
citizens arrest him?

Speaker 7 (15:48):
Oh dude?

Well, I mean I didn't have the capability because I
didn't know if he was your kids, So yeah, I
mean I could have put him in the wagon, patty wagon.

You a final question, did you a little bit perform
because you knew that nine one one call could have been.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Hurt one hundred percent, not like I mean, I was
just in the moment. I don't even think about that
in the moment. Like thirty minutes later, I'm like, uh,
I'm not tell school, but he's gonna have to find
that audio.

Speaker 11 (16:14):
So like, just your natural how you are you want
to give the sound effects to the nine on one operator.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
So she understands.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah, so she knows what he hit. I mean, if
you say, oh, he hit a couple of part cars,
it's like, oh, he just tapped.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
On boom boom ba good. Yeah that's good, real good.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
It sold me.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yeah, hey, well canna give you this?

Speaker 8 (16:34):
Yes, yes, I'm proud to call you friend.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Yes you deserve a great weekend. Yes, yes, Okay. Last
week lunch Fox told us he again called nine one one.
It's his favorite thing to do. And sometimes we're like,
you don't need to call nine one one for that.
This time, though, we felt like what you didn't why
you did it? Like it made sense, So tell the
listeners what you did.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
So I was leaving a soccer game and there was
a white truck in front of me and it was
swerving all over the road, leaving the roadway, and I
was like, oh, okay, this is obviously a drunk driver.
So I called nine to one one to report the
drunk driver, thinking, okay, the police are coming, woo woo,
pop them, pull them over, cup them, stuff them because
definitely going to the drunk tank. And then you follow him.
I did follow, okay, so I may I may have

gone the opposite direction where my house was.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
But he's also changed his story a couple of times
where he said he may have passed an exit, but
now he's turned around he's following.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Were all right, I mean they may have been going left,
and so I went left with him, and then they
took an exit.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yes, so when you call nine one one, that's available
for anybody to get. So we have lunchboxes. Call two
nine one one so we can hear it. It's about
a minute long. And then lunchbox is a few things
to say afterward, right, yes, okay, go ahead.

What's your emergency? I guess, ma'am, I'm driving and there's
white truck in front of me is all over the road.
I mean swerving left right, and I mean I guess
not swerving more drifting lane to lane where we're about
to take exit three and we're gonna boat. We're gonna
go to the left, or we're gonna go wait, wait,
are you following him?

I don't think you should follow him.

Speaker 10 (18:05):
No, no, no, no, I'm not following This is this is
the way I go home. It's it's just the same way.
And he just happens to be taking the same exit
and we're gonna we're doing the loop. We're gonna be
doing the loopy loop.

Speaker 9 (18:14):
Don't follow him, if you can, just maybe try to
get the license plate.

Speaker 10 (18:18):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean, oh man, he's just
like this the red lights. He's stopping at the red lights,
but right off it like when he hits starts up,
he starts swerving over the lane right away, like it's
just like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 12 (18:31):

Don't follow him, And if you can, can you like
get off.

Of the highway now and see, I.

Mean, this is just the way I'm going home. My god,
this is my way to my house. He just happens
to be going the same way.

was like, hey, we got a situation here, wreck car

so they made me get out and go look in

into it. I blocked the lane of traffic. I stayed
there till the cops arrived.

I was like, I can't believe no one's stopping. And
what's crazy is even when I was sitting there blocking it,
people would go around us and then get like and

the cars turned sideways and they pull up to it
and start honking, Like, guys, the car is sideways, nobody's
in it is broken, and you're honking.

I feel like I could be an investigative reporter.

have a lot of them. Can you make a note
to see if we can dig up all of us
when we just we rate them. He got it, got
