and she went to her Local walmart to pick up
two cakes that she had ordered to mark her final
day of. Chemotherapy her plan was to take the cakes
to the hospital share it with the staff that she's
obviously grown close to during her cancer. Treatment, well when

she got to The, walmart she realized that A walmart
employee paid for the cakes. Already guess they saw that
it was a chemo related celebration and they paid for the.
Cakes and when she noticed there was no, bill she
turned around and went back to the bakery and was,
LIKE i think there's a. MISTAKE i need to pay
for these or where's this SO i can check?

Just like a special moment for her where she was
able to then go to the hospital staff and celebrate with,

alcohol and percoset and That i've tried them, all but
it's like hard. Hitting AND i was, like, man all

that stuff you, listed was that like what you were here.
To it's a, percoset nateral nicotine and alcohol throwing dishes
down the, hall bad. Decisions i've tried them. All AND
i was, like did you do all those like in your?
Time she was like, Yeah and so we talked about the.
Video she was, LIKE i got kind of triggered in
the video BECAUSE i was like re enacting stuff and
it like really messed with. Me and then that just,

organically no direction from me or her purposefully went to her, going,
yeah you, KNOW i needed, Help AND i was, like,
SO i have no problem talking about things like death
or rehab or Because i've just been a part of,
it SO i don't have to sensitively approach. IT i
don't feel that way BECAUSE i feel like if someone
that doesn't have an experience with it talks about, it
they dance around. IT i don't feel LIKE i have.

To and SO i think she was just comfortable and
she was, like, yeah this is what happened to. Me
this is HOW i went to. Rehab and WHAT i
learned was we don't have tissues in that. Room we
had to go get a toilet. Paper it was so much.

media kind of sucking, sometimes like bringing folks. Down do
we think, though the kids are just becoming better in,
general like like they have more, empathy they have more because,

again there's a story here And i've heard of these groups.
Before Sophia campbell's a fourth grade student at De Berry
Elementary school In, florida and she got a surprise from
her Classmates after they noticed she was struggling with. Confidence
members of their classroom, group known as The Kindness, squad
decided to support her by writing encouraging messages on, colorful sticky.
Notes while she was out of the, room they covered
her desk with her in her chair with. Notes they

just would have never. Happened we were, Kids so what's?

if this sort of thing was happening because we didn't

Know and maybe they. Are maybe kids are just, kidding because.

It's like kids are now building lemonade stands and raising.

Money raising money for. Charities, yeah but Then eddie, goes,
well my kids don't do. That they Don't and so
to answer your, QUESTION i think it's the. Parents the
parents are now realizing that they need to it's. You
so BASICALLY i need to step it up and start
teaching my kids to do.

This BUT i don't think there were kindness squads when
we were, Younger, LIKE i don't think there was an.
Understanding so maybe it's a pendulum with as negative as it,
gets there's positivity that comes as well in certain. Areas
the gesture was led by a student and then quickly
supported by the rest of the kindness. Squad the teacher
says it's one of her favorite experiences as a teacher.

Ever People. MAGAZINE i remember once and for sixth, grade
our teacher imagine a, desk but it's a, chair and
from the, chair like from the arm on the right,
side the desk is attached to. That it wasn't a
chair that scooted into. It it was a chair that
had a little table attached to. It everybody familiar we had.
Those she was talking in class and she was teaching about,

science and she sat on it and the chair flew
and she fell and busted her, butt and there was
no kindness. Squad you guys all. LAUGHED i, TRIED i tried.

laughing so. HARD i felt bad for. Her and it's
like when you're in church or at a funeral and
there's and you're trying not to laugh because it's. Inappropriate

ever been, That maybe not, funeral but not as an.

Adult growing, up we had this guy he. Came he
was really really, sweet but he was also MENTALLY i
don't know the appropriate word it, challenged you, know SO
i don't. Know he's probably in his, forties almost, fifties
but acted very. Childlike but we all loved. Him and
he collected. Cans we would bring him cans because that's

how he would make. Money but he also had this.
Fan he would have, that you, know those little handhails.
Fans he would have them during, church and he would
he run those fans during, church and sometimes it would
bop his nose and then he would freak. Out and
then sometimes you would toot.

And he would blame, it like on my mom if
she was buying me to Go.

Judy so we would love during church because we, had you,
know built in entertainment With.

Alan but so it was. Appropriate levity, classic a, classic

About that was telling me something. Good it's time for
the good.

News So Diane, bennett she lives In, Greenfield New, york
and she went to her Local walmart to pick up
two cakes that she had ordered to mark her final
day of. Chemotherapy her plan was to take the cakes
to the hospital share it with the staff that she's
obviously grown close to during her cancer. Treatment, well when
(27:45):
she got to The, walmart she realized that A walmart
employee paid for the cakes. Already guess they saw that
it was a chemo related celebration and they paid for the.
Cakes and when she noticed there was no, bill she
turned around and went back to the bakery and was,
LIKE i think there's a. MISTAKE i need to pay
for these or where's this SO i can check?

Out and they're, like oh, no it's all. Good and
it was.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Just like a special moment for her where she was
able to then go to the hospital staff and celebrate with,
them but also, had you, know, say, hey this was
actually a gift from A walmart employee THAT i don't even.

Know, yeah that employee brought so much joy into her.
Life mm.

Hmmm it's like such a simple act of, kindness especially
during such a difficult time like, that the littlest things
can mean the.
