early enough for my son's birthday. He's wanted to go
for weeks now, so much so that on his birthday
that's pretty much what he asked to do. He would
like to take his friends to a movie later in
the month, but he's like, if we could just get
in and out for my birthday, that would be great.

So his dad got there early just in case there
was a line, and he had a couple of other
buddies meeting him there because yesterday was also the first
day of school, so there's just like a lot to
ask of, you know, parents getting kids out there. So
two of his closest friends were able to come and
been texted me at I don't know, four forty five

because the deal was we were going to eat at
five thirty, but he got there at for forty five
just to see if there was a line, and he
was like, no line, We're good.

So but then around five it definitely started to pick up.
And then we had like kids getting there at different times,
so it was just sort of some moments the line
was out the door and then it would die down.

I would say the bread is probably I've had in
and out before, but it's been a while, like several

with me. But then later in life it all worked
out and now my sister's one of my best friends.

more you're around someone, the more you fight. If you
live next door to your sister, you probably are going
to have some disagreements because there are more opportunities to disagree.

I've gotten, I realized some family systems, there's just always
conflict depending on how healthy everybody is it.

Like there's just I feel very grateful that.

I don't know whatever our parents did for my sister
and I and even my half sister and half brother,

old wounds that never got healed up, and there's just

Yeah, I told you we picked some cucumbers out of
the garden yesterday, and you guys were right right, Did
you eat them? I was like, no, I just put

So I went home last night and we had a
family chop up the cucumber, pass out some pieces. Man,
tasted delicious. I've never had the fresh out of a garden.
It was really good.

And also the fact that it was from your garden
and you know for sure it was fresh makes it
taste better. Even if it would it tasted the same.

flight for her and her mom for her and my
mom to come visit for Thanksgiving. So they're going to
come for Thanksgiving. But even better, they don't want to
do it at her house. They want to go to
the Smoky Mountains and do it like at a cabin there,
and I am in. So that's kind of the plan

I just we did it one year where we went
to the Smokies for Thanksgiving and it was just awesome.
The vibe is cool, it's kind of cold, you get

my mom wants to do it is really cool.

Is it at all that you don't have to clean
your house?

I mean a little bit, Yeah, for sure. It's like
hosting is a lot.

I would just think if people wanted to have it
at a different house, and we always have it at mine,

Something amazing about my mom and my mother in law
when they come to our house, they do all the cleaning.

down counters, does the dish without even asking. I turn
around and like everything's done. So maybe I really didn't

gonna be awesome. They did want me to smoke a
turkey though, and I'm like, I can't smoke a turkey
out on location. I'd have to do that at home.

Like nah, not for like a turkey, like you could
have like one of those Weber smokers, those black ones

the smoky mountains in a cabin that doesn't belong to you?

minutes later. A bear, a black bear showed up right
outside our cabin. That was crazy.

the video of my in law, So the bear's got

Gatlinburg is that their bear is just chilling in the

had the record on there and it was ninety five
and I was like, ah, come on, we're there. We're

at the bar with my friends, and they're like, come on, dude,

used to. And they said that record's been there the

it because the machine resets at one hundred, so they

And they're pretty sure people were doing cheating to get
ninety five, and I was like, okay, I'll try it.
Two hours later, I'm still there, still trying to break
the ninety five. I mean I might have been eight

one hundred and one and reset the whole machine and
now says one is the high score.

But so I had Mumford and Sons come in. I
don't know them, I've never met them. They're playing baseball
stadiums multiple nights. They're a massive global band and they
were only in town for like six hours, and they're
British and they're massive, and so I thought, oh man,

And I don't normally do bands.

I'll do one person, but it was an exception because
they're not from here and they're also massive, and so
we set up three mics.

It's just hard with three people because you have to
like spread it around, let everybody gets a thing, and
so I was a little worried that they were going
to be difficult. They were awesome.

They were so kind, right, instantly cool, and they showed up. Yeah,
they're just so nice and you could tell that Marcus Mumford,
the lead singer, is very aware that people want to
put him in the middle and talk to him the most,
so he just wouldn't do that. He said on this
there's three seats, and he said on the side to
the far right. And they were just really kind and

generous and it was great, and so I guess that
could be it, but I don't know. That's not till
next week. But it was much easier than I thought
it was going to be. And I think maybe because
I did it. We just talked a lot about music
we liked more than them, and I think probably sometimes
they like that instead of haven't answer the same questions
over and over about themselves.

comedy tours, Radio Hall of Fame, and so you're like,
dang this, I've mentioned this before. They're like, man, I

About stuff, and so who knows, they could have also
been briefed, but they were really, really nice and so
I'm excited for that one to come out, but mostly
for training today, which everybody know trains today. So that
was good and even after we hung out and talked.
But the funniest part of the whole thing was I've
been to London once. They formed in London and they
were like, hey, what's I was like, you guys think

you're our dad? Right, England, America, like you kind of
started us and we stole your language and butchered it,
like you're kind of, you know, kind of our dad.
And so I was asking her about American stuff and
they were like, well, what about you?

I went there Friends the wedding on Friends, and they
thought I was talking about I went to a friend's
wedding in London and I said, no, no, the TV
show Friends when they had the wedding, I take the
Rachel when it was Emily and they were like, huh oh,
the TV show. So it was a whole who's on

first type situation. Yeah, so it was really good. I
think that's probably what I went home. Baby's teething like crazy.
That kind of sucks. My wife's exhausted because she had
food poisoning for multiple days. So I don't know that
I have like a real highlight other than they were
nice and I think people are going to like that
interview if they're Momfort and Sun fans.

People are even if you're not like a big fan
or know much about them, that they can still go

Bobby Offensive Lineman of Floridas eight helped save a guy's
life after a medical emergency on the water and basically
a bunch of strangers had to jump in and so
he was one of them. He was out fishing. His
name's Jade and Todd. He saw a guy who it
looked like was a little drowsy and then boom, fell

into the water. So as he's fishing, he jumps out
of the boat and swims over to help the guy.
So within moments somebody else saw it too. A boat
comes up. He was a retired firefighter, then the sheriff.
But had this Jade and Todd not seen the guy
fall out of the boat. I'm assuming it was an
awkward fall out of a boat. Yeah, because if someone

dives in with their hands in front of them, yeah, yeah,
they're Yeah. After more than a week, that guy was
able to return home and is going to make a
full recovery, Todd. Jade and Todd, who played twelve games
for Florida State last season, said he was grateful to
have been in the right place at the right time

at Dunwoody Springs Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia show up

And it's a group of dads. They're volunteers. They call
themselves hero Dads, and they just showed up played music
just to make the kids smile because they know the
first day of school is pretty stressful.

So his dad got there early just in case there
was a line, and he had a couple of other
buddies meeting him there because yesterday was also the first
day of school, so there's just like a lot to
ask of, you know, parents getting kids out there. So
two of his closest friends were able to come and

because the deal was we were going to eat at
five thirty, but he got there at for forty five
just to see if there was a line, and he
was like, no line, We're good.

so it was just sort of some moments the line

I've gotten, I realized some family systems, there's just always
conflict depending on how healthy everybody is it.

I don't know whatever our parents did for my sister
and I and even my half sister and half brother,

old wounds that never got healed up, and there's just

tasted delicious. I've never had the fresh out of a garden.

the Smoky Mountains and do it like at a cabin there,
and I am in. So that's kind of the plan

Something amazing about my mom and my mother in law
when they come to our house, they do all the cleaning.

But they just love to clean. My mom always wipes
down counters, does the dish without even asking. I turn
around and like everything's done. So maybe I really didn't

minutes later. A bear, a black bear showed up right
outside our cabin. That was crazy.

the video of my in law, So the bear's got
in their cars.

Yes, you know what I'm hearing too. At what's it
Gatlinburg is that their bear is just chilling in the
city now, walking across the street, going by the candy shop.

We do work out together because we go to we

rented those tables so we could fit twenty people around
one table, like my dad, my sister, her family.

Man, it was random.

Bobby Bobo, Like it was a bunch of people if
you didn't have somewhere to go.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
And I'm not Bobo, it's a different person. She didn't nickname, Yeah,

You imagine you had a nickname. Nobody knew that.
Speaker 8 (15:48):
Okay, his name's Adam. And then but my sister, thankfully,
she thought of it. She was like, we should get
a table and make sure everybody's sitting around. And I
mean it was tight, but we made it work and
it was fun.

Who cooked all the food?

My people brought stuff, but my sister Bobo. Thankfully she
was there.

Bobo is the star of the show.

No, I think my sister and then maybe bended the turkey.

I mean, obviously I probably made something, but if my
sister's around, she normally takes charge.

So here in town, just down the street a little bit,
I guess from our old building. So, but it's a
place called Happy Does. It's in midtown, and they have
it's essentially a Papa shot, but it's called hoop Fever.
It's a bigger basketball, deeper net. But let's just for
sake of the story, it's Papa shot. And so they
had the record on there and it was ninety five
and I was like, ah, come on, we're there. We're
(16:45):
at the bar with my friends, and they're like, come on, dude,
try it out.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
And I was like, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (16:48):
It's bigger balls, it's deeper, it's it's not what I'm
used to. And they said that record's been there the
whole time this play has been open. Nobody can beat
it because the machine resets at one hundred, so they
said it can only go up to ninety nine.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Ninety five is it?
Speaker 6 (17:01):
And they're pretty sure people were doing cheating to get
ninety five, and I was like, okay, I'll try it.
Two hours later, I'm still there, still trying to break
the ninety five. I mean I might have been eight
noon ers deep. I finally got it. I got the
one hundred and one and reset the whole machine and
now says one is the high score.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Oh but can someone reset it with three? But I
mean I know it was me.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Yeah, but no one else is going to know it's you.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Yeah, but I know.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Okay, Well that's cool that you you got one hundred
and one, So that's cool cool. Oh I didn't know.
I thought it maybe it just hung at ninety nine.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Well, essentially you break the machine because somebody's gonna think
the high score is one.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
No, but it's not.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
If you gotta go back and get ninety nine and
leave it on ninety nine. I got to installed like.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
If you do it again when you hit ninety nine,
because you can't hit it one on one, stop it
at ninety nine.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
And there was there was a New York bachelor party there,
and of course we're playing for twenty bucks here, twenty
bucks there It was absolute blast. It was like, oh,
here we go back already in the circuit of Papa
Shot again.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
You were gambling on Papa Shot, not necessarily gambling.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
We didn't have cash and the ATM was broken, and
so I had no money to play with. And I said, well,
I'll play you for twenty dollars and if if you win,
we'll venmo you. But if I win, can I have
twenty dollars to play this machine more? And so I mean,
I'm taking money from the New York guys. They're like, man,
you're awesome, dude. What's your name? Let me look you
up on Instagram? Who are you? You've got one.
Speaker 2 (18:17):

Speaker 3 (18:24):

play in the Nationals. They had the championship. It was
tough to watch it on Friday. But saw the winner
who won. Some guy named Map twenty one map quest.
He's a big fan of the Map Company or something.
But he's like forty five. He used to play college football.
Good guy lives in the suburbs, I believe, I.

Want to say Raleigh area. What about Onions? Onions didn't
he wasn't in the top twelve.

What about I saw another guy who said I think
his name was like Michael Buckets. Yeah, they called me
Michael Bricks because I didn't play very well. It pops
up in my algorithm. Now apparently I'm a big fan.
What was who was that guy?

Yeah, it was Nicky Buckets, but yeah, they all fell short, Capudo,
Nicky Buckets, Murph the guy from Vegas, he fell short.
It was It was an odd tournament style. I believe
it was almost like where they didn't do best of three.
Sometimes it was single elimination. And that murf guy Map
twenty one I did a scouting report, and I said,
he doesn't miss, And that's exactly what the scouting report was.
The guy didn't miss. He doesn't go very fast, but

I'm just gonna walk through my day because I don't
know that I have anything definitive because my day was
just so freaking tight.

So we did our show twenty five whistles till almost
one o'clock yesterday, and then I had to be over
at our other studios because I had Mumford and Sons
coming in yesterday.

Yeah, and so they're not up today. Train. It's also cool.

Pat Monahan, lead singer of Train, is my guest today,
So I hope you check that out on the Bobbycast.
But so I had Mumford and Sons come in. I
don't know them, I've never met them. They're playing baseball
stadiums multiple nights. They're a massive global band and they
were only in town for like six hours, and they're
British and they're massive, and so I thought, oh man,

what is this even going to be?
Speaker 2 (20:43):
And I don't normally do bands.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
I'll do one person, but it was an exception because
they're not from here and they're also massive, and so
we set up three mics.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
It's just hard with three people because you have to
like spread it around, let everybody gets a thing, and
so I was a little worried that they were going
to be difficult. They were awesome.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
They were so kind, right, instantly cool, and they showed up. Yeah,
they're just so nice and you could tell that Marcus Mumford,
the lead singer, is very aware that people want to
put him in the middle and talk to him the most,
so he just wouldn't do that. He said on this
there's three seats, and he said on the side to
the far right. And they were just really kind and
(21:29):
generous and it was great, and so I guess that
could be it, but I don't know. That's not till
next week. But it was much easier than I thought
it was going to be. And I think maybe because
I did it. We just talked a lot about music
we liked more than them, and I think probably sometimes
they like that instead of haven't answer the same questions
over and over about themselves.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, it felt like they already knew you when they
walked in.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
So I do that people come from the gas up room.
Speaker 7 (21:56):
What's a go oh your room of like way, so there's.

A lobby to the building, and I understand that a
lot of people coming into that show have no idea
who I am. So I really gassed myself up by
putting up really cool pictures.

The pictures I'm proud of.

But it's you know, sold out shows, comedy, sold out
comedy tours, Radio Hall of Fame, and so you're like,
dang this, I've mentioned this before. They're like, man, I
never heard of this guy, but something's.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Going on here. And they came in and they were
they were just talking.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
About stuff, and so who knows, they could have also
been briefed, but they were really, really nice and so
I'm excited for that one to come out, but mostly
for training today, which everybody know trains today. So that
was good and even after we hung out and talked.
But the funniest part of the whole thing was I've
been to London once. They formed in London and they
were like, hey, what's I was like, you guys think
(22:51):
you're our dad? Right, England, America, like you kind of
started us and we stole your language and butchered it,
like you're kind of, you know, kind of our dad.
And so I was asking her about American stuff and
they were like, well, what about you?
Speaker 2 (23:04):
What about London? You be I sid Yeah, I said,
you know why?
Speaker 3 (23:07):
I went there Friends the wedding on Friends, and they
thought I was talking about I went to a friend's
wedding in London and I said, no, no, the TV
show Friends when they had the wedding, I take the
Rachel when it was Emily and they were like, huh oh,
the TV show. So it was a whole who's on
(23:27):
first type situation. Yeah, so it was really good. I
think that's probably what I went home. Baby's teething like crazy.
That kind of sucks. My wife's exhausted because she had
food poisoning for multiple days. So I don't know that
I have like a real highlight other than they were
nice and I think people are going to like that
interview if they're Momfort and Sun fans.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
But it's crazy how famous.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
People are even if you're not like a big fan
or know much about them, that they can still go
and sell eighty thousand tickets.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
Are they doing like us? I've seen footage from some
of their shows. Are they doing kind of like an
acoustic thing where they're in the middle and they just
kind of.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
I don't have mics, I don't know, but they are
acoustic kind of because the lead singer plays the drums
his foot.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think I've seen where they
kind of just set up in the middle of the
stadium arena wherever they're playing, and they just kind of
sing almost opry style.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Interesting, they are doing baseball stadiums. They did Fenway Park, Greatlayfield,
like they're that big, awesome, which is cool.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
So yeah, I think that's probably it. Get to sleep
and we didn't even watch a show last night.

It's is an odd night because of the tea thing.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
It's just terrible. It is just terrible. What do you
say about that they play middle you know, it doesn't
even matter.

I was thinking they were playing Madison Square Garden to night.

They were like, do you want us to come back
and play a million dollar show?

Yeah? But that they were kind of kidding but kind
of not because they saw all the posters. Yea of it,
and they were like, yeah, we're free, we'll.

They probab I wouldn't be but gosh, how cool would

So I've been I started signing these books too. The
people sent me from ten years ago. Abby put on
this one and I wrote to Ellie but it says
no address, but we have her number, so she has
our phone number that we can just call and be like.

Yeah, because she wrote a letter and then she has

So how was I supposed to send it back?

Bobby Offensive Lineman of Floridas eight helped save a guy's
life after a medical emergency on the water and basically
a bunch of strangers had to jump in and so
he was one of them. He was out fishing. His
name's Jade and Todd. He saw a guy who it
looked like was a little drowsy and then boom, fell
(26:16):
into the water. So as he's fishing, he jumps out
of the boat and swims over to help the guy.
So within moments somebody else saw it too. A boat
comes up. He was a retired firefighter, then the sheriff.
But had this Jade and Todd not seen the guy
fall out of the boat. I'm assuming it was an
awkward fall out of a boat. Yeah, because if someone
(26:36):
dives in with their hands in front of them, yeah, yeah,
they're Yeah. After more than a week, that guy was
able to return home and is going to make a
full recovery, Todd. Jade and Todd, who played twelve games
for Florida State last season, said he was grateful to
have been in the right place at the right time
to help.

That's the kind of guy that has the power the
strength to swim over and pull you out to football player.

You know, going back to school stressful for the kids.
They've been off all summer. Well, a group of kids
at Dunwoody Springs Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia show up
to school to see all these dads dressed up in
costumes like Winnie the Pooh, sharks, all of these kids
elementary okay not seventeen, no, no, no, I got it, got it.

And it's a group of dads. They're volunteers. They call
themselves hero Dads, and they just showed up played music
just to make the kids smile because they know the
first day of school is pretty stressful.

And then to find out like is that dad, Hey.
