Speaker 1 (00:03):
Blugleck Cat Podcast Man special guests in here. He got
his new album out really show tomorrow in La. Socket
to my pocket streets. Yes, sir, it's a dizzle. Welcome man,
welcome back, I should say.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Man, thank you for having me.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
It's hot as hell in l A right now.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah, it is, it is, but you know I'm bringing
more heat.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
So these glasses were wearing are crazy, but these cartiers
are insane, Like these are vintage or how you get
these glasses. These glasses are crazy.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
They got like dropped the bag if you want to swag.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah, those glasses look like they're like five thousand dollars
for sure. Close close anyway, Man, Socket to my pocket Man,
the new album is out right now.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, hell yeah Man. I'm excited. Man.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
It's a lot of great, great feedback I've been getting
from it. You know what I'm saying, I'm more famous
now than I was since I dropped it. I'm not
gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I feel like every like couple months, I see some
new shit where somebody new will find you, you know
what I'm saying, or somebody who will hosts you. It's
like you're bringing everybody to the party, like you know,
it's been a grind, but it's it's been working, bro,
It's always been up up uphill.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I feel like all all them years of hard work,
eventually they start, like, you know, all the work you
put in just start to come to fruition. Like go
to seeds you planted years ago. They just one minute
it's dirt and then you turn around it's a big
ass tree.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Oh shit, what year was it? Would you say? Because
obviously you've been grinding on the ndccene for a long time,
but before we knew that name, before we knew Rome Streets,
what was the first kind of like year that you
kind of took rap serious or you was like, you
know what, I'm gonna actually apply myself to this shit.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I would say, like like twenty eighteen, Okay, like you know,
like seventeen, twenty eighteen. So when it started to really
make sense for me, like people was actually spending money
on my music, like buying downloads, right, yeah, buying also
like buying vinyls and fucking cassette tapes and CDs, Like,

(02:17):
oh shit, I could sell a CD for fifty dollars.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Was there anybody who kind of just started to go
for me? Because I kind of feel like back then,
like the whole vinyl wave was like I would say,
like in it's like infancy stage right, you had like
the Griselda guys doing the vinyl and the hard copies.
Like who was it that kind of showed you the
way in terms of like turning your fan base into dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It wasn't really just someone actually showed me. I was
just observing, you know what I'm saying, Like I seen
what was going on, and I was like, you know what,
I want to be involved in that. So I just
you know, started figuring out ways to put myself in
in the middle of her we king because I was

(03:01):
from the outside looking in. And then I just figured
it out, like I just started putting our music. And
then you know, the labels that was doing the vinyl
deals for the other artists, they just started reaching out
to me like.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yo, I want to do something.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
But at first, I can honestly say, at first, before
I ever got a real vinyl deal for real, I
think I just invested my own money into it. It's like,
you know, I'm impressed up my own ship. I did
my research and flip it. Yeah, and flipped it. I
fucked up the first time because I didn't really understand
the whole concept of like worldwide shipping. I charged everybody

(03:40):
the same shipping price, right.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
So if someone bought some like you're up, you're like.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Seven dollars for shipping, and Nigga ordered something from fucking
Bulgaria and now, of course thirty dollars to me to ship.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
It there, then you're upside down on that piece of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
So you know, like it was a learning process, but
I had to. I had to go through that, so
you know, I can't really complain, But no one actually
sat me down and showed me how to do this shit.
I just seen it, like, Okay, he's motherfucker selling their
music on this website.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
So let me actually make a.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Page on this site and then put my music up there,
and then see if I have five thousand followers at
this time, let me see how many of them are
actually just casual fans and how many people is die
hard gonna support this? You're in the same thing, because
I feel like putting your product up for sales gonna
separate your fan base, is gonna.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Show you who's really really really fucking with.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
You, yeah, and who's just you know, what I mean,
They're just gonna click and watch it for two seconds.
So once I did that, I think it was when
I put out Street Pharmacy. I put it on my
band camp page and then people started buying that shit,
and then from there I was like, oh, yeah, I'm
a rapper. Now people actually spend money from my wraps.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
So yeah, the fact shout out to the band camp.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, listen, band Camp, listen.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Man, first twenty bands I've seen off music was from
band camp and I never looked back.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
That's beautiful. It's crazy too, because I'm sure like during
that time, you're trying to navigate, like, well that record
obviously everything was produced by Farmer Beats. But you know
what I always tell artists, the hardest shit is to
when you're an independent artist, you put an album out,
trying to figure out because you know, so many people
get shit off YouTube, trying to take care of all
the producers get shit signed off on what I'm saying.

(05:31):
That's that shit they don't talk about, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
But see, like I feel like at that point in
time in my career, people was just like eager to
work with me, just as.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Bad as I wanted to work with them.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
So it's like a lot of the i mean the
behind the scenes, back door shit that was going on,
I wasn't even really involved in it, Like with Farmer Beats,
Like my whole ideology behind that was like, Okay, me
being from New York, how will I extend my fan
base if I work with people from New York that
ain't really big like you. I mean, I'm not big,

(06:06):
so most of the people in my peer group they're
not really that big either. So it's like if I'm
always working with them, I'm not really going.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
To get further. You're exposing myself a new audience.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
So it's like, at that particular time, I was like,
you know what, let me just try to work with
it all. Like all my producers that I was working
with from different regions, whether it's from Canada or from London,
whether it's from freaking la. Like, I was always trying
to work with people that weren't from where I was from,
so my sounds can be where they at, you know
what I'm saying, Because everybody got fans.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah, and I think too. I Mean, you did such
a good job of like collaborating with producers on albums,
which whether it's Mugs.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
You know.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
The Mugs altum was crazy.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Because it's like I had a thought like, yeah, at
that particular time, there's a lot of rappers that I
wanted to work with, but I'm like, one, I don't
know them too.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I'm not paying them thousands of dollars to rap.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
So at the end of the day, the producers want
to work with me, they're gonna get me free. They
just want to send me beats all day. Like, yo,
I don't want no money, just put the music out.
You understand saying it was easier for me to collab
with producers at that particular time, that makes the busiest. Yeah,
and it was easier. And it's like, you know, producers
got a lot of fans, so that kind of just

(07:21):
opened up a lot of doors for me just collabing
with producers. Once I got in with Mugs, it's like
that's when shit started to change for real, for real,
for real.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah, I feel like when you can do an album
because I feel like Mugs is very careful about who
he works with. It's never about numbers, it's never about clout,
it's about fit. So when Mugs does some shit, whether
it's with TF whether it's with you Mayhem, Loran or whoever,
it's it's a co sign that really means something.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Of course, because anytime Mugs really does something with an artist,
it's like a passion play. You understand I'm saying, Like
he's not really stressing for money, like he he's rich
forever all for jump around, right, you.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Understand I can sell all that shit.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Yeah, So it's like if he does something, it's because
he genuinely wants to fuck with it, like it's a
passion play.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
He's not gonna work with everybody. He has to really
really like enjoy what you do. So me being able
to work with Mugs is just like an honor, you
know what I'm saying. But yeah, once I got in
with Mugs, that's when like I broke through the next
level of this ship, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
What I'm saying. Then I got with Griselda, that was
a whole other level, whole other thing, mister mass A pill,
It's a whole other level.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
So it's like I'm just grateful that I'm able to
move up the ladder, Like how I am?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
When you do that I mean, because this is your
is it your second or third release with Mass.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Appeal, It's my second trainspotting with Conductor. It's like a collapse,
say my first solo.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Are you able to get any like feedback from Nas
on the album or does he tap in.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Like yeah, he fucks with it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I see Nahs like you know, whenever I do run
into him, he always be saying some fly shit to me.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
So he is he like a sincere and where he
he'll just drop like two sentences on you to just
stick with what you like you need to go.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I feel like, just for me knowing Nas, I don't
feel like he was really acting out a character on
Belly Yeah, but then when I do speak to him,
it's not like two words right right, he really expressing himself.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
So do you.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Feel like it's funny because you always here like Codway
and those guys always talking about how they'll never ask
Jay for a feature even though they were with rock Nation.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I mean, you feel like Yo for a record acts
Nas for features already, you know, but it's it's all
about timing. You get what I'm saying, And I feel like,
personally this is just me the longer it takes for
me to get on a song with NAS the better

(09:53):
artists summer be yeah, because like my whole thing is,
I'm not really comfortable, like motherfuckers might be like yo, mom,
you nice you to, but I feel like I can
always be better. It's always like something I could do
to improve my artistry my MCN. So it's like, if
I do a song when NAS tomorrow is gonna be good.
But if I do a song with NAS next year,

(10:15):
I'd be a much better at MC next.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Year than I am today.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Truth.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
It's like and me, I'm not really rushing it, but
I would love to do something.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Like when it happens, it's gonna be yeah the right time.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
One thing about me like I don't really force things,
Like things just happen when they're supposed to happen, you
know what I'm saying with me, Like I just believe
in like divine timing not you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So that's my whole shit pool.

Speaker 1 (10:41):

(12:07):
out to uh stous P. The stous Pa record is
ninety meg Shrooms. Yes, sir, what's the worst shroom trip
you've ever had? Room Street?

Speaker 3 (12:17):
The worst shroom trip I ever had was in two
thousand and fourteen, maybe fifteen, might be sixteen, whatever year.
Tyler the Creative performed that afropunk quick story. My homeboy
mailed me a box of stuff from out here, mailed
it to New York.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
A bunch of shit. We bunch of shit. So I
pulled out a TUTSI roll.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Thought it was a weed edible ate the shit like
this shit tastes like shit?

Speaker 2 (12:45):
What the hell was this? I ate it? But then
I spit it out through it in the garbage. I'm like,
it'hit nasty.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
So now I'm waiting for a cab to go to
the festival. So while I'm sitting there outside, I started
feeling mad dizzy. I'm like, oh shit, what the fuck
is going on? So I told my Girl'm like, yo,
go to the store, give me something to drink. By
the time she came back from the store, I'm like, oh,
shitting on the fucking stoopid feeling retarded, right, And then

(13:13):
the cab came. So in the midst of the cab,
I'm calling my friend, I'm like, Yo, what the fuck
was that?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Bro? He's like, Yo, what you mean. I'm like, Yo,
what was that? Tutsi roll? But that shit was discussing.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
He was like, please tell me he didn't eat the
whole shit. I'm like, nah, Like I ate like a
quarter of it. He's like a bo That's like, that's
that's shrooms. But it's like a that tootsi roll is
like thirty doses, so you're only supposed to eat a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
I'm like, God, I ate a chunk of that shit.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
As soon as he said that, it was raining, Like
everything just started melting. Like I seen the fucking the
rain drops like splashing off the fucking the windshield of
the car. I'm like, oh shit, this shit is crazy.
So I'm like, all right, I'm tripping on shrooms.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Now. So now I go to the fucking festival. The
line is like a mile long.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Oh that's the worst.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
I walked past everybody. I didn't have a ticket. I
got in somehow. I just walked past the line and
walked right in. Like the nigga didn't even ask me
for a ticket.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I just went right in.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
So now I'm inside, and shit, we smoking bomb smoking weed.
They sell nutcrackers at this festival. Nutcrackers like a New
York drinker. It's like mad different liquor mixed. So I
drank that shit. Nobody told me that you're not really
supposed to mix liquor and shroom.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah the crossfade man boy.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
So now, and mind you, it's like a festivals, all
sorts of people. There's all sorts of random people. People
faces is melting, morphing, everybody got mans on. I'm like,
oh shit, what the fuck is going on? And mind you,
I did psychedelics before, so I wasn't really too off
my kilt, but like, I was drinking a lot and

(14:47):
I didn't really know that you can't mix alcohol with shrooms.
So now we're in the spot. It's like a marsh pit.
I'm in the middle of a marsh pit Tyler the
creators on stage. He sounds like fucking satan. I'm like, yo,
what the fuck? And and I'm just like, yo, I
can't stand up, like I gotta get the fuck out
of here.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I was in the middle of the crowds. Too much energy.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
So then I'm like, yo, I gotta somehow. I find
myself laying on the side of a fence. I'm like, go,
I gotta sit down, like and then I see like
one of my homeboys for my old building.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
He's like, go wrong, I ain't seen you from that long, son,
what's good. I'm like, bro, now not now. So I'm
laying on the fence.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
I'm like, I'm sitting down, and mind you, it's like
a fuck like think about like somebody in the middle
were rolling loud, just sitting down on the gate. I'm like, nah,
like yo, I gotta sit the fuck down. So then
I'm like you know what, mind you. I'm sitting there
just trying.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
To get my bearings together.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
My girls in the Marsten like, I'm like, oh, I'm
over here dying and you don't give no fucks about me.
So then I go somehow I get energy.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
I go grabble like, let's get the fuck out here.
I'm like, what's wrong. I'm like, you don't give a
fuck about me. I'm dying.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I'm over here tripping balls.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Next thing I know, motherfuckers is like, yo, don't walter
on me and ship.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I'm like, what the fun going on? I was like, nigga,
get passed ou. I'm like, oh, now I got to
get the fuck up out of here, you know what
I mean? And mind you.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
I'm not like Rome Street, but I'm still roam streets
like mad. People knew who the fuck I was. Before
I was like a famous raper. I was still like
a popular persons niggas. It's like, yo, got you got,
I gotta get the fuck out of here. So then
after that, like my girl start arguing and ship and I'm.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Like, nah, bro, I can't do that.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Was that your last time?

Speaker 2 (16:32):
No? Hell no, that was that.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Was the worst time I ever did it because I
didn't know I was on shrooms.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
If you're not anticipating candy, yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
So then the funny thing is I told one of
my homeboys about this ship.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
He's like, yo, you still got that ship. I'm like, yeah,
that ship in the garbage in my crib. He's like, yo,
let me get that. Like I literally took that ship
out the garbage and gave me.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Tell me, I've never been so high because like I've
gotten to the point where I'm eating either too much
weed or too much shrooms, and I'm around people and
I can like hone in on conversations from across the room.
It's like it it turns you and it gives you
superhero sensus low Ki that not on shrooms.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
For me.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
That's like if I do fucking acid, I used to
fuck with I used to fuck with tabs and shit.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, to fuck with acid.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Would you like put them in your fitted or to
eat them?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Shit? Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
I would say, yeah, I've I've seen some crazy shit
on acid. Bro, I've seen a nigga with ten eyes. Damn,
I see a nigga with ten rows of eyes.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Like, I'm Tripp. Did you talk to them? Nah? Nah?
I was. It's so crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
I was in the club and that day was just wild,
Like I was just because I don't know, like once
you do psychedelics, like the first time, like I have
a hot tolerance to everything, Like right the first.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Time I did it, didn't even do nothing to me.
So it's like, yeah, I've done.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Acid, grinding your teeth didn't do nothing. I had to
take two of them shits to feel it. So it's
like the first time I did askid, I'm like, oh,
this shit is ill, Like it's lit, right, because I
used to sell that shit before, like I ever did it,
so I used to sell it to people and shit,
but I used to be shook to take it. So
the first time I took it, I was like, Okay,
it's lit. But then after a while I was like,

(18:22):
all right, I'm cool, I can navigate this. Let me
try to take two now. Because I remember one time
I knew this guy right, he never did acid before,
and he came to me. He's like, y'all want to
buy a strip. It's like how many tabs is in
a strip? I'm like ten. And these are times I
was selling them shits. It was just like one long
ass line. It wasn't like divided up, so like he

(18:43):
just cut it in half and ate the whole shit,
put the whole strip.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
In his mouth. I was like, oh shit, I'm like, yo,
you ever did this before? He's like nah. I'm like, wow, I.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Might go this Nigga did like eight tabs at one time. Nah,
he was tripping balls. I got a whole nother story
about what he's like today, but.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
That he's like ever since that day, he's never been
the same.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
He hasn't. But I'm like, you know what, fuck it.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Like I used to just try to like level myself
up with tripping.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
So one day, like throughout the day, we're just.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Eating them shits half at the time, hole one, and
by that time I probably was on like three and
a half.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
We went to a club. Now we're chilling in the club.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
And then like I was cool, and then all of
a sudden, that shit just kicked in out of nowhere.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Like I was just having a conversation.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
And then all of a sudden, it was like this
shit was like it looked like Chinese wallpaper, Like this
spot that was in it looked like a Chinese restaurant.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
So I'm sitting at the table having a conversation blah.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Blah blah blah blah blah, and at the corner of
my eye, the wall just starts like moving, like you know,
like when it's mad windy and is a flag.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
The flag is just like everywhere that's what the wall
was looking like. So I'm like, oh shit, so we
having a conversation. I'm like, oh, Ship, the wall looks
fucking crazy.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
So then I started looking around and there's a guy
in the party dancing and ship and then like you know.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
It's mad Trails.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
So like he's moving his head to the music and
his fucking eyes just shot up to the ceiling.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
I was like, oh my god, tripping balls.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Like yeah, So that was probably the funniest time I
ever tripped.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Like, yeah, I had a time man where I Ate
uh Me and Freddi Gibbs were in Austin, Texas, and
we split a chocolate bar with Rogan and uh every
we ended up partying on six and everyone's faces looked
like you know, remember on cops faced to have their face.

(20:45):
Everybody had blurred faces.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yo, that's crazy, it was.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
But they're not could. But the thing is, I don't
think people understand when you do psychedelics, or even if
you eat a lot of weed it for whatever reason,
you could turn into a superhero dog. Because I'm being
a mother fucking concert one hundred yards away. I could
look at some of the bar and listen.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
To their whole sh or you could like manifest shit.
You could think of something and then it just happened
right from Like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Trust me, it's fucking crazy. It's so crazy, you said Austin.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
I feel like every rapper has a crazy ass. I
got super lit in Austin. I remember the first time
I went to Austin, right south south By.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Yeah, he was all chilling in this house.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
It was like his mansions. A bunch of rappers in
the crab were just chilling. This one dude he came through.
I had man weed and shit, Yo, this snigger came through.
He had big ass e pills and shit looked like fucking.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Like fucking peanut minem.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yeah, like some big stupid shits, yo. Like what the fuck?
He giving them ships out there, you bob, you know
what the fuck I'm gonna take one. Bro.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
We was so geeked, like we was literally running around
south By, just running in different places, snatching the mic
and just rapping.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Not even booked to perform, like we did fifteen shit, we.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Did fifteen shows in one thing.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Hey, we just run this pile like, yeah, we wrapp
It's like world, give you the mic hits the flat.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Drive, yo. That shit was mad fun like Austin is fun.
Like I could say, have you ever been to the
Yellow Rose?

Speaker 4 (22:08):
There?

Speaker 1 (22:08):
The Red Rose? Those are the strip clubs?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Actually, no matter of fact, we went to a strip
club in Dallas. We drove from Austin to Dallas and
went to some random strip club. It was lit, but
it looked like somebody's house.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
No, in Austin, it is like those are the two man,
You're like run into like some random comedian and you'd
be like, why the fuck is Tony Hinchcliff making it
rain three in the morning at the Yellow Rose?

Speaker 2 (22:34):
What the fuck is Austin is lit? Man?

Speaker 3 (22:36):
I would tell any artists you know, when you come up,
if you can go to south By, just go.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
You're gonna enjoy that.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Obviously, this album I'm sure has been because you've been
working on so many collab projects. But I'm sure you'll
get in and said, what's kind of been the timeline
of you working on Soccer? To my pocket, I.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Probably started it in November and finished it in February,
but it's like a lot of fine tuning that went
into it. I feel like it was more months of
fine tuning this album. Getting everything It was like rapping
and recording. You know what I'm saying, because it's like
I always have leftover songs from the last album, right,

(23:18):
so you know, I like, I'll start off with a
batch of songs that I already did in the playlist
and it's like, okay, let's make more, and as I
make more of those original.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Songs, I'm moving all the way down to the end.
So it's like, with this shit I probably made, I
probably had.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Like twenty five to thirty songs, so it's just trying
to but I liked all of them, like so something.
I really liked all of them, so it's hard to pick.
But it's like, all right, I love this song, but
it's there song that I like better that can replace it.
So it's like I really had to like remove a
lot of emotional attachment that I have from records and
just like which ones feel the best?

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Then you just do lost tapes.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Man. Yeah, no, I'm gonna trust me, Yo. The Road
Speaks Thus Tapes is gonna be crazy, insane.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
I promise it's insane because every album that I've done
is mad, Like I have mad songs from Kiss the
Ring that never came.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
I'm saying, you got to us and giggles like, just
drop a little twenty piece.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Every single album that I've done, there's songs that's left
over from there. So it's like I got one hundred
unreleased songs that I don't even know what to do with.
That's not even counting all the albums that I have
already like put together. That's just on the fucking conveyor belt.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
So it's like, where do you rank Naz's lost tapes
in his discography?

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Which one? The first one?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
The first? That one?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
First? I ranked that ship high. I got a third, Yeah,
I ranked that ship high. Like that's like top five.
It's so fucking good, Like for Yeah, Purple.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
That's one of my favorite NAS songs ever, Blazer fifty,
it got mad Ship, No idea is original, Like a
lot of my favorite nod shit is on is on
lost tapes. So, like I said, lost tapes to me
is like top five, Like ill mad it was written.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
They go back and forth with like which is.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
And then it's like ill madic gods it was written?
Then I go still madic, and then I might go
lost tapes. You understand I'm saying, But I think because.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
I got the same I mean my whole five got.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
It, but then he got a whole mix tape.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
I remember one of my homeboys played me a NAS
mixtape a mad other ship, Like it had some lost
tape shit on, but then it had like some whole
other songs on it that I.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Never even heard of before, Like where the fuck this
song came from?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Yeah, there was a lot of leaks, like back then,
motherfuckers was leaking whole albums like at the bodega, and
then the album would come out and a change. Yeah,
hell yeah, crazy times. Man, you already know Arizona Man.

Would obviously you just dropped this year your project with
Boldieu BoJack. Is there is there anybody who you are

(27:45):
talking with or who you feel like you have the
chemistry or enough shit in the can to be able
to do another collab project with a rapper. Well, I mean,
I mean, I'm sure you always got the producer shit
touched off because you got so.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Many of those Westside gung guy man. So, man, this
is I got just just a phone tound.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Ofd fucking Griselda songs that I got that never came out.
So it's like that man ship with mugs.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
I got shit, I.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Got shipped with a lot of people. Man, I got
songs with stove Guards that never came out I got.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
I got a lot of shit man.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
A Part two Ransom want to do more Ship. You know,
it just got to materialize, like right now.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
It's like.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
After this Socket to my Pocket album came out, like
I seen the way my life changed, Like this Ship
is closer to me. Like I can't even walk out
my front door now. Like I walk out my front door,
people like drive by or to be at the traffic

(28:50):
like like oh ship road.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Shit.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Like I can't even walk out of my house to
my car across the street with somebody like.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Scirk yo, bro every day Like before it wasn't like
so close. I might go to the store.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Now it's like I can't, Like I gotta walk out
of my house hiding, so niggas don't know where I
live type shit, do.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
You gotta tuck the chains?

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Baby?

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Put the five hours?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Like yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Even like when I'm driving through the city and Ship,
like if I have the windows down, people like motherfucker
ran up on my car Like oh shit, room, y'all.
I just want to say your album is good. I'm like,
damn yo, if this was Texas, I would have shot you,
like you run.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Up on my car, Bro, Texas A wild place.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
You understand what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
But it's like I love it though, because I remember
when nobody knew who I was. But it's I see
the difference in me, Like putting out this album right now,
like I got the reach is crazy. So it's like
I still want to do more things. I still want
to get more ship off. I still want to like
release some of the ship that I got on my
hard drive before I like do a whole nother collaboration

(30:00):
with another rapper.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Because like, I got so much shit that need to.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Come out that if I was to do a collab
album with another rapper right now, that ship not coming
out for like a year and a half.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Probably already had you already have everything planned out.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Yeah, because you know there's albums that I've been was
supposed to put out that I just like, nah, this's
got I mean, like I'm a future wave that's supposed
to come out, But it's like a lot of things
I had that I had to put before that. But
then in the midst of it, I'm always creating Ship.
I'm always adding new stuff to it, Like me and mugs.
Every time I come to La you gotta get in

(30:35):
with mugs. Yeah, I did three, so I probably didn't
like three songs already.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Since I've been here and I haven't been for like
two days, I did three songs and mugs.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
You know what I'm saying, I'm probably about to go
do more ship with somebody else.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
I was at Alchemist.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
I was about to say, it feels like the next progression.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I was the day we was trapping album.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Yeah, but I feel like even that's just gonna materialize.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
You ge know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
It's not gonna be like, yo, room, let's sit down
and do an album. It's just gonna be like, you
know what, every time I end up at our crib,
I probably record something, and then later on it's like, damn,
we got mad ship.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
I feel like, even if you connected with evidence evidence.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Oh yeah, it's the bro I got shipped. I got
songs on his computer right now.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Yeah. Trust me. When I come to l A, I always.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Got your stops.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, I got my stop.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
So I always if I'm here for an extended period
of time and everybody's around, I bounce around. I go
to mugs, I do some shit. I go link with EV,
I do some shit. If I link with al, I
go do some ship. I go link with dough Boy,
I go do some ship. You ever saying I link
with Worthy? He cook up a link with TF. We
cook up you know what I'm saying, I link up
with two eleven. It's like, you know, is it you

(31:48):
always hear that?

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Like Banks is like kind of an elusive guy these days.
We don't like I don't know the last time he's
like made a public appearance and he's been putting out
so much great music. Yeah he was it is it
pretty easy to get the Lloyd Banks feature over over
the finish line.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
I feel like it's easy when the artist fucks with you.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Like I met Banks like a couple of years ago,
and he always was like, yoah, fuck with what you're doing, Like,
let's get some work done, you know what I'm saying.
So it's just about the right record, you know what
I'm saying. Like I had that song, I'm like, y'all,
I definitely hear Banks on this, because you know, sometimes
the motherfucker like, Yo, let's do something, and just you
being eager, you just gonna send some shit that don't

(32:27):
necessarily fit. Like I just feel like that record, I'm
like y'all. I can hear Banks on it because everybody
that I work with, like I'm a fan of them first,
like I've been a fan. So it's like I can
just hear certain shit like Yo that he would sound
crazy on this just because I love him as an artist,
not because it all me rapper wants to do a song.

(32:48):
You know, if I wasn't even on the song is yeah, exactly.
So it's like that's how I do certain shit, like
even the ship with Styles. It's like this would sound
ill what I'm saying. So it's like I'm not gonna
say it was difficult to get Banks. It's just more
so the right song because like even doing a feature
with me, it's not really difficult to get me on
the feature, but it's like it gotta be the right song.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I gotta like like it, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
So you're born in London.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, I moved to New York when I was one,
so New York here.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
So you're I mean you're a New Yorker. Yeah, But
do you feel any like because there's so much talent
out of London, Like the MC's coming out of our London.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Are put like this, I was born in London, but
I consider myself a New Yorker through and through.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Got all my game, everything, everything I know is from
New York.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
But I did spend three years of my like teenage
life in London. So there's a lot of things out
there that I identify with. You are the same saying
I'm not gonna sit here and be like, no, I
don't identify with London.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
That's a part of me too.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Like I'm spending London too. I got a lot of
good friends in London. Like one of my close friends
is a little ass rapper in London.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
And then like I just like being out there. So
it's like, yeah, there's a lot of trust me it.
Ship is fire.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
There's a lot of great talent out there. There's a
lot of fucking dope artists. There's a lot of dope producers.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
You get what I'm saying. There's a lot of dope
just people.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
You know what I'm saying. People show me a lot
of love. The food is fucking excellent out there, is it?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
I always hear.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
You just gotta know this, that is always be like,
you have know what to eat, right, you have to
know what to eat meat.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
I'm a very picky eater. So at the end of
the day, Like.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
When you say picky, what do you mean, because there's picky,
Like I only want chicken nuts.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
No, no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
I just I'm just the type of person I only
eat the ship that I like to eat. Okay, you
get what I'm saying, Like, I'm not just gonna experiment
on some ship if it don't like, if it's not
on my checklist of things that I fuck with, I'm
not just gonna fuck with it.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
I'm assuming you're not a sushi guy.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Then I likesh, but not every kind of sush you
like the raw fish, Like, Okay, I fuck with a
lot of things, but it's like no, when it comes
to London, you kind of gotta just you kind of
gotta dig for it. A lot of the ship that
you might not like is right there on the surface.
Like I love fish and chips, but it gotta be

(35:13):
made a certain way, right right right, you know what
I'm saying. But if you don't really understand what real
fish and chips tastes like, you might end up buying
some bullshit.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
I want to go out there and just get shit
faced during like some soccer game at Bro.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
London is fucking lit.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Do you inherit the soccer fandom when you spend three
years after I'm aschool fan.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
I'm an arsenal fan. That's the thing. It's like I
went to I went to tenth grade and.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
They called it footy.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Yeah, they called football.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
No, they called it footy.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Depends on where you at. Depends on where you at.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Like I was in London from tenth grade to eleventh
grade and they don't do twelfth grade out there, so
then you have like an intermediate college or whatever.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
But every summer I'll come back to New York.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
So it's like it wasn't like whole years I was
in London, Like I was always back and forth. But like, guy, yeah,
the things that I picked up from London, it's just like,
I don't know, Bro, it's just rich experiences. I feel
like the more you travel, you become richer in experience,
you know what I'm saying. Like just just seeing things,
just fucking with different cultures, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
So talk to me, man for you suck it in
my pocket? Why that that's that's some player ship, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Telling some players.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
It's some player ship, I mean obviously, but then it's
also like.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
I need mine. Yeah, like in this game, I need mine. Yeah,
I need mine. I need mine. I came from mine.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I been here doing it for the love yeah me,
And I've been doing it because I feel like I
wanted to respect. I wanted motherfuckers to know I get
busy for real. And now you know, I get busy.
I need to get paid. Not saying I haven't been
getting paid, because I have. But this is a new level.
This is a new This is not like the last

(36:58):
home I put out. This is like a totally different thing.
So now I want to receive all the things that
you're supposed to receive once you achieve certain levels of success.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
So this is like the start of me doing it
for the bag.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah, Like now I respect and I need the bag.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, facts Facts Facts.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
A tour coming up yeah hell yeah, hell yeah. Soccer
to my Pocket Tour, US Tour Mad Cities. We're doing
all August and then I'm gonna take a break for
a couple of weeks and then we're gonna do September.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
What is the randomly like you see your Spotify analytics,
What is like a random market that just cracks for
room streets.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
New Zealand, New Zealand. Yeah, they want me in New
Zealand bad.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
You gotta get out there in New Zealand's I think
New Zealand like they damn your sound Australian there.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Yeah, yeah, they want me in New Zealand, Bad, New Zealand, Australia, Colombia, Venezuela.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
They want me in those places.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
So have you been to Colombia yet?

Speaker 4 (38:07):
No?

Speaker 2 (38:07):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
What about Asia? Have you done the Asia run?

Speaker 3 (38:10):
I went to Thailand? I've been a Yeah, I went
to Thailand. He was in January. Yeah, that was fire.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Bangkok.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, I can't. I definitely would go back.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
It is because I went to Roland Loud two years
ago and I had a bunch of business out there
with Wis Khalifa. So I was out there for like
twelve days and I did Bangkok fouquet and pattire. I'll
be trying to tell people Bangkok is the craziest city.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Yo, because you know what's so crazy?

Speaker 3 (38:43):
I didn't like, I didn't assume that it was so
modern Like I didn't assume that it was so modernized
like that ship is like I'm not gonna say it's
like New York, but it is. It has like an
aura of like mad Scott scrapers, like where I was
staying for Like I was like by like forty second
Street Bros.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Crazy shit. Shopping is crazy.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Crazy, you know what it is though?

Speaker 3 (39:08):
What I want to do now, It's like I go
a lot of places, but I'm always working. I'm always
you know, doing the show. I've always gotta I always
got to do like work, so sometimes I don't really
have all the time that I want to have to
explore to be a yeah yeah, it's like, nah, I
would just want to go to these places and do

(39:30):
tourist shit, cause like I appreciate me getting to travel
see the world for rap, But sometimes I might go
to a place for a day and I got to
do a show that day, and I might.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Have to leave that day.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Yeah, so it's like damn, on the show day, everything
just moves ten times more accelerated. So it's like damn,
I've been a lot of places, but I didn't really
like get to dive all the way in they got
fire as yeah, yeah, hell yeah, I was high as
hell out there. It's so crazy because when I went,
like befo, That's why I went. I wasn't smoking weed,

(40:01):
Like I made a conscious effort to like not smoke
weed from that long by, Like Dad, I'm going to Thailand.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
I'm going to get high. So I was fried in Thailand, like.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
My homie got my hommy got a dispensary out there
on California's Finest. He got there all over the city.
So the Asian homie, he's blessing us, obviously aid Thailand
is fun brock All right, man, So tours coming album
is out? Yes, you already get you say you already
got like the next twelve months kind of planned out?

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Yeah, pretty much, but you know, anything can happen.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
I'm curious your personal favorite five mcs, not who you
think is the Goats, but like we all have our fame.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
My personal favorite five mcs like currently or just like.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
It could be all time. I think all time is
who you fuck with it.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
You know, I'm gonna just name some random five random names,
not really random, but you know these are artists that
I enjoy listening to rock Marciano, West Side Gun, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
Doom Drake, and uh mm let me give you one
more one more Wild card. Damn, what the fuck would

(41:31):
I listen to that other day?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Man? I like Don Tolliver. His ship is fire. Don
Tolliver is fire.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
You'd be hard pressed to find a shitty Don Tolliver song.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
Facts, he's just like I love his voice.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
He makes amazing music. Is cracked, the octaneh it is crazy.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
I thought Max being there too. I fucking Max Man Max.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
B Max Bani needs a podcast.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
They got to give him like the bigger well Man.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
They gotta like him, and somebody else gotta do like
the Joe Jada thing. Could just like let Mack speech.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Yeah, yeah, facts, I really like rapper podcast. I was
telling somebody the other day like how like like fancy
like Adrian Brown and how he's like the littlest person streaming.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
I'm like a person that.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
Was in like a field that you never really hear,
like people talk always gonna be lit Like you might
hear a boxer talk, but you never really hear a
boxer speak about anything other than boxing. You never really
see them outside of working out or doing something that's
involved in boxing. So now you see Adrian Brown are

(42:42):
just turning up whil'ing out like a regular human it's
like mad entertaining. So a lot of times celebrities that
do podcasts is always gonna be lit because people want
to hear their perspective. Like if an R and B
artist started a podcast, it would be lit because most
people you never really hear what R and B artist
has got to say, Like if fucking I don't know

(43:05):
R Kelly, go play, Like think about R Kelly the
podcast podcast. People will want to hear what the you
gotta say because it's like what he might not that
might not have been a good exact that's a terrible example,
but I appreciate your rolling with it. It's like a
like a like a like a lit R and B
artist neo, Like, yeah, people will want to hear what

(43:25):
the you gotta say because it's like, you know, R
and B artists get mad bitches, so it's like, yo,
tell us some groopy stories, like we want to know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (43:33):
No, my favorite ship is the Jada Joe ship.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Yeah yeah, hell yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
They had an episode. They had an episode with Bill Bird,
the comedian, like a month ago, and it's the it
was the funniest podcast. This full Bill Bird was just
fucking cracking jokes on Fat Joe. They were just going
back and forth for like an hour, and Jada Kiss
was just laughing and Bill is like, what the fuck do.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
You even doing?

Speaker 1 (43:54):
How do you get a word?

Speaker 3 (43:55):
I like less rap about it too, This ship with
Jones and Fabinavy like that because man is funny. It's
funny their podcast. Shout out to them. But like, I
enjoy watching them because, like you said, you get a
lot of behind the scenes stories, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Like I'm here, I'm fans of a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
So when they start doing these podcasts, they telling you
a bunch of shit that you would never even have known,
you know.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
What I'm saying. So it's like, hell, yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
