Is the Democratic Party changing course or doubling down? We take a look at Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, what his campaign says about the direction of Democrats in 2026, and why the race against Ken Paxton is drawing national attention. We also examine the political battle in Los Angeles, the challenges facing Mayor Karen Bass, and what voter frustration in California could mean for the future of both parties.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's talk about Low te Tofu eating tell Rico, the
supposed preacher from Texas who was running as the Democrat
in a Senate race up against now Paxton. And I
got to tell you it's pretty astonishing but very important

(00:21):
when you see where the Democrat Party actually is. And
that's what this guy shows you. He shows you, beyond
a shadow of a doubt that the Democrats have not
moderated at all since twenty twenty four. They have all
the same crazy beliefs that Kamala went forward with. In fact, Kamala,
as you know, famously said that she thought that transgender
inmates who are illegal aliens should get abortion care. I

(00:44):
think it was which was really the trifecta or the
home run all bases loaded grand slam for Libs. There
you got an illegal alien in prison trans having an abortion.
Why she left out any of the other stuff, But
maybe she just figured that that was enough. Here we

(01:06):
are looking at Low T. Tall Rico. Let's just understand
who this guy is for a second. They say he's
an eighth generation Texan and he's a former middle school
teacher and now a Presbyterian Presbyterian seminarian, and he looks
like the kind of guy who shows up to a
barbecue with a kale salad with no protein on it

(01:29):
and try to lecture everybody about the size of the
carbon footprint necessary for the t bone stake that they
are grilling, and how we all have to do our part,
and maybe it's time to get rid of air conditioning,
and do you recycle that guy, that super annoying individual
that is James tall Rico. He walks around telling Texans,

(01:52):
I know fossil fuels built this state, but have you
tried oat milk recently? Low tea energy? And this is
the kind of guy who if you see him at
the gym, he's only on the elliptical. He walks over
to the weights and then he gets scared and then
he leaves. Look, he is the Democrat nominee. The Democrats
picked him, so they're not trying to meet Texas where

(02:13):
it is. They have decided that they're going to see
if they can sneak this guy past enough of the
electorate that we have a radical leftist senator from Texas. Now,
you might say, how could that ever be, Well, look
at what's happened in Georgia recently. Three Senate seats lost,
all of which should have been won by Republicans. Now,

(02:37):
is nominating a guy who looks like he cries during
sensitivity training a smart idea for Texas? Probably not, But
this is who we're facing now, And why does this matter. Well,
it's twenty twenty six and the Democrats are looking to
get back into power so they can push all of

(02:57):
the same insane stuff. They have not moderated at all.
They haven't course corrected. The fever dream of twenty twenty
four did not break for them after the election, so
they're doubling down on the same radical faculty lounge ideology
that lost them working class voters, Hispanics, and even a
proportion of black men that began to be concerning for Democrats.

(03:20):
They are still the party of open borders, soft on crime,
really pro criminal identity politics, and just making everything one version,
one big version of drag Queen's story Hour in America.
So Tall Rico is not an outlier. He is symptomatic
of the broader issues here. He is a more polished

(03:41):
and faith washed version of their race communism. But that's
what he is. He claims that he fights billionaire mega
donors while his party is bankrolled, of course by tech
oligarchs and whatever's left of Hollywood, and certainly by the
streaming platforms. He'll talk about taking power back for working people,
but then he'll also say there are six genders. He'll

(04:03):
say that he cares about the middle class, but then
he also wants men to be able to go into
your daughter's locker room to change next to her, and
then compete against her in sports, if she's in high
school or college, or professional level for that matter. So
his whole game here is to try to fool people.
The whole game is to convince people that he is

(04:23):
something other than that which he is, and that his
party is not the den of lunatics that we all
know it has become. But they do think that they
can get back into power, and their desire is to
get to a place where they can begin to inflict
this pain of madness on all the rest of us.
That is what they are hoping for. Any notion of

(04:47):
moderation is just window dressing, and that's what you see
with Talleriico. By the way, in California, you've got voters
heading to the polls in just a few days here
for the Los Angeles mayoral race, and that's another example.
Well we'll get into that here in just a second,

(05:08):
because first off, my friends, we need to talk about
gold because gold is our sponsor, Birch Gold specifically. And look,
gold goes up over time. You just see this historically
public information. See it anywhere. Gold's gone up seven hundred
percent over the last twenty years. It's had a huge

(05:29):
run recently, but that run is not going to stop
because the dollar keeps being debased and because central banks
keep buying up gold to give some ballast to their
inflated currency. So it all makes sense, doesn't it gold
over the long term. So if you haven't gotten into
some physical gold yet, Birch Gold Group is who I
trust to help you now. Through May twenty ninth, Birch

(05:49):
Gold is giving first time gold buyers a rebate of
ten thousand dollars on qualifying purchases. For details and a
free information kit on diversifying into gold texts buck to
ninety eight, ninety eight ninety eight. Birch Gold can help
you convert an existing IRA or four one k into
a tax sheltered IRA in physical gold. Text buck to
ninety eight, ninety eight, ninety eight to see if you
qualify for a first time gold buyer rebate of the

(06:10):
ten thousand dollars text buck to ninety eight, ninety eight,
ninety eight Today, Now onto California and the primary day
which is coming up here. Incumbent Karen Bass is in
quite a fight, which I don't think she was prepared
for at all. And she's up against Spencer Pratt. That's right,
the Spencer Pratt, the guy from the Hills. It was

(06:33):
kind of a villain in reality TV. I never watched
that show, so I have no memory of what he did.
But I'm told he used to stir up drama with
Heidi and Lauren. And now he's running as the anti establishment,
common sense OUTSIDERR who just calls out the insanity and
here's the truth. A lot of what he's saying is true.
It is the truth. It's very straightforward. What is the

(06:57):
appeal of his campaign? He as a Los Angelino who
had his house burned down by the way by the
wildfire set by a left winger and allowed to blaze
out of control by left wing government that was totally
incompetent and ill prepared. So his origin story into politics
makes a whole lot of sense. But all he's doing

(07:18):
is just telling people what is true. All he's doing
is telling people what he is observing and how it's wrong.
And it doesn't have to be this way. And for example,
under Karen Bess, the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles just
keeps getting worse. It's not a crisis that has just
fallen out of nowhere. Under Los Angeles, this is the

(07:40):
result of policies and it creates crime, filth on the streets,
businesses fleeing. But remember these are choices that are made
that lead to this. And as I said, the Palisades
fire response has left the city scarred. It is managed
by people much more interested in race, communism and transgenderism

(08:01):
than in safe streets, clean and orderly society, and a
government that functions with baseline competency. So they've got all
these mandates for housing that's not happening. Palisades fire, that
whole area is gone. It's not going to come back
for years and years. And Bass is just a Democrat

(08:22):
machine politician. She just does what the existing Democrat left
wing architecture around her wants. She is the implementor of
the machine. She doesn't even really have a vision or
leadership of her own at all. And this is why
the city of Los Angeles continues to be such a

(08:42):
mass for people who try to live there. So Spencer
Pratt's the guy who's saying, look, the emperor has no clothes.
We can all see what's happening here. Crime is too high,
streets are gross in La. All the progressive madness comes
at a cost, and the cost is just too high.
You can't tax, regulate and virtue signal your way out
of basic governance failures. So he is tapping into that rage.

(09:06):
The mom's tired of stepping over tents, the business owners
watching their windows get smashed, the normal Angelinos who just
want a functioning city. You have to be nuts to
reelect Karen Bass, honestly, but a lot of Democrats are
going to do just that, even though there's all this
visible decline. After the billions of dollars spent, after all
of the shortcomings, the massive failures, and after watching San

(09:31):
Francisco and Portland pursuing similar paths and Seattle and becoming
cautionary tales for the rest of the country, Los Angeles decided,
you know what, let's follow them into the abyss. Let's
do that here, and then of course you've got the
Democrat machine propping up the people who made these terrible
decisions in the first place. So Proud is positioned here
as a disruptor because by telling the truth, he is

(09:54):
disrupting the equilibrium of lies that they have set up here.
So this primary really matters because California is the test
case for what the voters, what's possible with voters who
suffer from bad Democrat policies. And also, I think the
national Democrat Party knows that if they start losing any

(10:16):
major races in California, it is dare I say, a
five alarm fire, but radicalism on crime, on housing, building
nothing but regulating everything, radical spending of other people's money.
These are failed ideas that will continue to fail. So
Karen Bass is the continuity of those failures. Pratt would

(10:38):
be if he wins a rejection of that. So this
is just obvious to anyone, I think, and we should
understand that the Tall Rico types and the Karen Bass machine,
they're all connected. They are part of a Democrat party
that refuses to admit reality. Low energy cultural virtue signaling

(11:01):
in Texas from Tall Rico total failure of governance in
California without any moderation. They don't care what the reality is.
They don't care how badly this goes, because they're in
essentially a cult. So LA voters don't sleep on this.
June's second is your chance to send a message California
can't afford four more years of decline. The rest of

(11:25):
the country is watching to see how this plays out.
Texas is certainly watching as well, because Texas will get
a whole bunch of Californians depending I think on how
the more so this the governor's race goes, but also
Los Angeles mayor's race, I think will be another data
point for why sane Californians will want to leave. So

(11:45):
Democrats aren't going to moderate, that's for sure. The only
way to stop them is to defeat them. So we
don't need more low t Vegans pretending to be tough
Texans wearing cowboy boots and stetson's. We don't need career
politicians in blue cities who only make the worst possible
decisions and are totally incompetent. It's time for something new,

(12:07):
something better, something that works in Los Angeles and in
Texas don't let them. California your Texas that Straightforward sponsors
super Short. Here's a question, how many brokers does it
take to ensure your business? If you're like most business owners,
the answer is too many, multiple policies, multiple applications, and
no clear view of how it all fits together. When

questions come up, it's not easy to get the clarity
you need. Supershort changes that one broker for all your
