Speaker 1 (00:01):
Kathy Hochul, the governor of New York, appoints a special
prosecutor to look into the Cornell gang rape allegations, even
though all of the early indicators are that this was
a consensual act based on the testimony before police of
the accuser. What's really going on here? Was this a
(00:26):
gang rape or an orgy? That is really the question.
That is at the center of this issue. And let's
just put in context, we have seen this from the
forces of the left in this country many times before.
It is not about justice. It is not about due process.
It is not about the facts. It is about an
emotional attachment that some portion of this country has to
(00:51):
the notion that men are inherently... at some level, predatory,
and certainly to blame for anything in the realm of
sex and sexual activity that is, let's just say, a
little too forward, a little too aggressive. It's always the
man's fault. It's not the woman's fault. But also, the
(01:14):
demonization of men in college, out of fraternity, campus life,
all of this, has been a long-standing issue uh activity
and and goal of democrats and the left in this
country for as long as i've been alive so in
that sense it's not surprising at all but what is
(01:35):
really distressing and actually what i can focus on here
for a minute is that letitia james the attorney general
for the state of new york now i understand there
have been other attorney generals uh for new york who
are ignominious scumbags to be sure, notably Eliot Spitzer. But
there have been others. I think there was a guy
who had some abuse allegations against a woman. I can't
(01:57):
remember his name. He had to step down. I mean,
you know, this is the highest law enforcement officer in
the state of New York. And a lot of really
bad people seem to get the job. Tish James is
one of them. She's somebody who decided to use the
power of a prosecutor's office to go after Donald Trump.
And she promised to do this before she even won
(02:19):
the job as attorney general. This is an absolutely bright
line violation of the most core ethical duties that she
could have as a an officer of the law. You
can't say, I'm going to go get somebody. I'm going
to use the law as a weapon against a person
(02:42):
you and I don't like because of that. Not because
they broke the law, but because we're going to use
the law. This is the Lavrentiy Beria quote, you show
me the man, I'll show you the crime. Of course,
he was the head of the Soviet secret police. And
this is a very dangerous moment, in a sense, for
(03:03):
the country, because what you're seeing is that now there's
no more guardrail there's no more sense of propriety from
democrat prosecutors when there is a political i understand they're
still gonna they're still gonna put people who are you
know doing armed robberies and uh they're still gonna put
people who are committing you know violent crimes shooting people
(03:25):
gang members i could put them in prison but when
there's a political component to the situation when it touches
upon left and right democrat and republican conservative versus liberal,
there you have or should have no faith whatsoever in
their ability to be honest in the conduct of their job,
(03:48):
to conduct their job in good faith. And this even
came up in this press conference where a reporter, an
intrepid reporter for the moment at least, said, hey, Letitia James,
you put on Facebook that a terrible thing happened to
this woman, basically, and you stand with her talking about
the Cornell case. And then she was asked whether she
just said, I'm not going to respond to what a
(04:09):
Facebook post was. Yeah, but that's a that's a public
statement by you as the attorney general. Clearly, at a minimum,
she should recuse herself from this case. She won't do that.
And the reason that Kathy Hochul appointed her is to
keep it all sort of in house with the Democrat
power apparatus. They know she's on board for whatever the
(04:30):
New York Times and the MS Now audience wants. That's
why Hochul, who is a a grade-A moron, appointed Letitia James,
who was also an absolute imbecile. You have two of
the dumbest women in politics in America today, which is
saying a lot, who are the governor and attorney general
(04:54):
of New York, respectively. I also think that there's a
very important principle at play here. There are many, first
of all, but one of them is if Somebody can
retract consent after it was not only given, but then
affirmed later. We've created a situation where a woman who
(05:18):
feels scorned for whatever reason can bring rape charges against
any man at any point in time. And they have
to be, remember, somebody can make a claim, but the
claim has to have enough merit for a prosecutor to
bring charges. If this case results in a rape charges
brought against the the Cornell seven, then any rape case
(05:43):
would have to result or any rape allegation, I mean,
would have to result. It doesn't matter how clearly weak
the case may be, what counterbalancing evidence exists. So that's
extremely troubling. That's something that you have to keep in
mind as we go forward here. But also. Notice a trend.
(06:05):
The left has been desperate for a case like this
for a long time because they've created a narrative about
life in America, especially on campuses involving young men. That
is not reality. And the claim is that women on campuses,
and there was a CNN documentary, it really was almost
(06:26):
like a mockumentary, maybe a decade ago, during Me Too,
I think it was called The Hunting Grounds, and it
was about male sexual assault on women in college campuses.
It's just crazy stuff. Just complete fear-mongering and absurd, and
just the The underlying premise, of course, there are sexual
assaults that occur on campuses. There are rapes that occur
(06:48):
on campuses, just like they happen in society, in towns
and cities. But it's actually very rare for it to
be a rape on campus that is prosecuted, that meets
the standard for a criminal prosecution. It's actually not a
common thing. And they want to make it seem like
(07:09):
a common thing because, one... A lot of people are
addicted to victimhood. A lot of people want to be victims.
They don't want to be empowered, actually. They want power
over people through their victimhood. So they claim to be victims,
and then they make demands of you because of the
fact that they're victims. And this is extremely dysfunctional within society,
(07:33):
but it's something that we see, whether it's involving different
minority grievances, now it's gender grievances or transgender grievances. It's
people are mean or bad to me. Therefore, I'm allowed
to make you do this or I'm allowed to demand
of you that it is unhealthy for a person and
certainly unhealthy for a society for things to operate that way. And,
(07:57):
you know, I think that the another part of this,
I mean, I remember when I was at Amherst and
it was, you know, that was over 20 years ago now. Wow,
I'm old. I was at Amherst, and they were giving out,
we were giving out, meaning I was an RA, condoms. Okay,
we're giving out condoms, but they also give out this
thing called the dental dam. I'd never even heard of
(08:18):
it before I was in college. And I grew up
in New York City. I mean, I was pretty, I
lived pretty fast for a young adult or a teenager
in New York. I saw a lot of stuff. I'd
never heard of or seen a dental dam before. These colleges,
and this is very broadly true. It's not just my college.
This is what they do. They create an atmosphere of
(08:39):
really degenerate and degrading sexual activity. You guys are all
going to just be sleeping with each other and drinking
all the time and vomiting and then having sex with somebody.
That's what's going to go on. So here are the
condoms for it. And by the way... even if you
(09:00):
are a guy and you sleep with a woman who
the next day texts you, says it's great, a week
later goes on a date with you, a month later
says she's in love with you, if three months later
she says that first time she didn't actually consent or
she was too drunk, you might have to have your
life ruined and go to prison. That is the environment
that these colleges create. That is the ethos around male-female relations.
(09:24):
It is Sodom and Gomorrah, but If the woman is
upset afterwards, it doesn't matter what the evidence really is.
She can destroy, get a guy kicked off campus, maybe
get him even referred for prosecution, all of these things. So, yeah,
that's why this whole thing. I mean, it makes no
(09:44):
sense also to seemingly suggest that a prosecutor looking at
this in New York didn't bring charges because what? He
or she actually applied the law properly. There was no message.
made in this. The mistake, of course, is in politicizing
(10:04):
something that shouldn't is really an open and shut case
based on the facts that are agreed upon. I'm not
even there's not even really disagreement here. She said she
took the drugs. She said she wanted to have sex.
She said so afterwards, and now she says, no, it
was rape. Long time later. That can't fly. For a
(10:25):
criminal prosecution, that cannot be allowed to fly. I think
Letitia James is going to try, and she's going to
bring charges. Even if she knows that a jury is
going to acquit, she will bring charges to show that
she's on the team. She's on team, unaccountable, left-wing, lunatic woman.
which is unfortunately a huge constituency for the Democrat Party.
