Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of the Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
All right, third hour of Playing Buck kicks off right now.
Thanks for being here, everybody, and a couple things, some
news items to discuss with you. We're going to hang
out for three hours. We've got to make sure we're
all up to speed on the news right. US unfortunately
lost ninety two thousand jobs in a what the Wall
Street Journal is calling a widespread and unexpected downturn. There's
(00:28):
a healthcare strike Kaiser Permanente playing a role in this.
So the Labor Department numbers reporting in January had one
hundred and twenty six thousand jobs gained. They were economists
were expecting fifty thousand jobs gained this month.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
They were wrong.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Economists are wrong a lot, no surprise. They're unemployment rate
at four point four percent, and there's a big change
here in the healthcare hiring, which is a big part
of this. We're also being told by the team and
I have to take your word for this, guys, apparently
Clay and I'm sorry, I just can't speak to this.
(01:08):
There's been some rough weather in other parts of the country.
It's not seventy five degrees. You guys aren't all walking
around in flip flops making sure you get plenty of
vitamin D. There are some places in the last month
or so where it's been a little cold, a little chili,
which is sad.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah, you Miami people are super cocky about the weather.
You just always have to ask other people what the
weather is. You go pretty quiet from about May June
to September. It's like the grocery store. I have to
swim through the area. It's ninety eight degrees with one
hundred and seventy eight percent humidity. No talk. But as
soon as it gets to be February, you're like, oh,
(01:47):
it's cold other places. I will say when I've lived
in warm places. I lived in the Caribbean for a
couple of years as an attorney. Every time I saw
bad weather, and I know you do this now because
you live in Miami.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I'm just like, what are these people even.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Thinking dealing with bad weather?
Speaker 3 (02:02):
You know where it's actually really cold or it's actually
truly awful when you live in really warm weather, maybe you.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Even gone on vacation.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
You go on vacation, you look back at people in
bad weather and you just think that seems like a
really poor choice by them, which is why I've said before,
if we had settled the country west to east instead
of east to west, no one would live in the
Northeastern United States, because by the time we got here,
people would have said, this is ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I think you under at you've never experienced. I think,
and I'm not just saying this, because we have some
fantastic stations from New York and on up into the Northeast.
Although it doesn't hurt, I think that New England in
the fall is one of the most beautiful places on
the planet. I think it's amazing. You gotta eat it.
(02:48):
You go into some of these parts of the Hudson
Valley and Vermont and Massachusetts in September October, the leaves
are changing and there's a crisp air. It's beautiful, beautiful
thing in the south.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
It just happens in November, and it's great. I don't
need to I don't need to get cold earlier.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
It's very pretty leaves down here too.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I think this is big leaf that's gotten to you,
much like big leaf blower has gotten to destroy the
brain function of a lot of people out there. Maybe
there's something with the loudness of the leaf blower that
has actually distorted their cognitive act.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Do you notice how angry people get in the leaf
blower debate.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
As soon as I saw your tweet, I was like, Oh,
Buck doesn't know what he's done here, he big leaf.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Blower is going to come for him really enjoy their
leaf blowing. I feel like this is I did not
anticipate this. I thought it was just a loud, annoying
chore that nobody would want to do. I think there
are some leaf blower addicts out there who just they
just love the rush of all those that deciduous tree,
(03:52):
you know, residue just falling all over the place, and
they're just blowing it everywhere, and they just they're like
a god of among leaves and they love it. I'm
surprised by this, but I think it's real.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I look, if you crazyly blower people want to live
your leaf blowing infatuation, I'm fine with it. Just you
should not be able to do it before nine am,
certainly on the weekend, and I think nine am is
a reasonable hour on many different weeks, like in residential neighborhoods,
the number of times that I will think to myself, Hey,
(04:26):
you know what, I'm going to get to sleep in
a little bit. I don't sleep very much. I'm like,
you know what, I'm going to sleep in a little bit.
The number of times that I am woken up by
a leaf blower in Florida, it is an epidemic in Florida.
You can't go anywhere in Florida without being woken up
by a leaf blower at like six twenty three in
the morning.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I when you get into Miami, you got leaf blowers
waking you up. You also have roosters in some neighborhoods.
I've seen them running wild in your neighborhood. There's just
roosters everywhere, just roosters running around. You're like, what are
they doing? Who is that rooster? We don't know, but
he's loud, that is for sure. There's plenty of that
going on.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Well, I would think this is going to be an
incredible segue. I'm patting myself on the back. In advance.
Many leaf blowers are powered by gasoline, and gasoline prices
buck are beginning to spike.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And I told you this, we talked about it earlier.
This week.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
They're going to pivot. Just wait for it if you're
not noticing it already. Democrats are going to pivot from well,
the Ayahtolah was a bad guy, but we took him out.
We shouldn't have done that, which is a hard argument
to make. Right if you're going to say, well, this
guy's responsible for hundreds of American deaths, destabilizing the Middle East,
funding terrorism throughout the world, but it was wrong to
(05:40):
kill him, that story is that. That's a tough argument
to make. But I'm telling you they have already begun
the pivot, and the data is starting to reflect that
gas prices are going up.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
My take is gas prices are going to go up
and then come back down very quickly because I think
we're going to have success in the Middle East faster
than people anticipate much les Like, have you noticed how
nobody's talking about Venezuela now we're establishing normal relations. There's
more gas coming out of Venezuela than ever before. It
seems to have been one of the most orderly transitions
of power that we have seen in a modern era
(06:12):
so far. And so the pivot here buck is going
to be Trump's war in Iran is making everybody poor
because gas prices are up. Uh, just give it time.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
By the time you get into I would I would
say within ten years, and maybe within five years. This
is kind of a wild prediction, but I don't think
it's that crazy. There'll be American women doing bachelorette parties
in Caracas. You watch, It'll.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Turn into leave Marshville and they're gonna start going to
Caracas instead.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Well, no, there was. What I'm thinking of is that
Carda Hana for a while was a direct Jet blue flight,
very popular for yeah, because you could you know, it
has that sort of Latin flare and then you're out
of the count. But it's an easy flight, and the
food's great and there's lots of dancing. So I give it.
Give it ten years in Caracas. If it stays on
(07:07):
this trajectory, will be will be a boom town because
Venezuela is a great country and the Venezuelan people are
a great people. They've just gotten screwed by bad, bad leadership. It's,
by the way, already starting to happen. It's gotten safer.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
There's of all places I believe I was reading in
the New York Times about how cocktail bars are starting
to take off now, and that people are complaining because
the prices of cocktails have gone up and some stake place.
You know, they've had such crazy inflation and continue to
have such crazy inflation in Venezuela. They've destroyed the entire
economy since Chavez was elected in twenty twelve or twenty thirteen.
(07:43):
As many of you listening to us, who have friends, family,
or yourselves are from Venezuela but already buck the capitalist
infusion of just having basic support from the government to
be able to make money. The overall food and dining scene,
which is an early arbiter on how do people feel
(08:03):
about the economy, is starting to skyrocket in popularity. The
New York Times had a big article about going out
in Caracas in the wake of the removal of Maduro
and how so many different bar owners and restaurant owners
are saying things are a lot better already.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Well, this is what I mean. You can just tell
things are moving in the right direction there, and that's
a great thing. I We'll see it around. By the way,
you mentioned energy prices. Here's Secretary of Energy secretary right,
this is cut nine. He's saying, look, the gas price thing.
It's a little spike, it's the speculators, it's the concerns
over the straight of horror moves. Play nine. When will
(08:40):
there be some relief for folks at the pump? Do
we expect this to last weeks?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Or do you think you know, with the mitigation that
the Ministration is putting in place right now, that we
should see the gas prices start to come back down.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
And yeah, I think it's of order.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Weeks, I would say, in the worst case, but it's weeks,
not months. And look, Iran has been an escalator of
energy prices forty seven years the whole history of their regime.
We've got a little bit of an interruption right now
to finally put an end to their ability to recavoc
to kill Americans and to terrorize their neighbors.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Clay, I, your term paying long term game is to pitch.
I think that that's correct. I do not think this
is going to turn into some you know, long term
you know, nineteen seventies style, Oh my gosh, oil. This
is nothing like that's going to happen. They're going to
get this thing figured out pretty quickly, and oil prices
(09:38):
are going to continue to come down and look that
everyone's very aware. It's an election year and no matter
what people, our people are unhappy with the party in power.
If gas prices are high, that is just the truth.
That is just the way it is. So this administration,
the Trump team, they're attuned to that. They recognize it.
So that's why they're going as fast as they can down.
I mean, they are treating this whole thing like they
(09:59):
are on a clock, which is a smart way to
approach it.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
I think that's why they have made the moves that
they did in Venezuela and in Iran. At the time
in the year that we did remember it wasn't very
long ago, Buck when they said the midterms are going
to be decided by Minneapolis, and we have wh's the
last time we heard anything about what happened to Minneapols
knew that was truly, but things move so rapidly. I
think they made a conscious decision because if you had
(10:23):
gone in in September, let's say, and taken out the
Ayatola or taken out Maduro and it hadn't gone well,
then the impact in November is likely to be more substantial. Right,
you're within a couple of months of the election, people
pay attention to gas prices. We're very early in March.
That again, I've said this before, but gas prices go
up in the summer and then they tend to come
(10:43):
down in the fall. That's the general trajectory of gas prices.
I think by the time we get to August September
and people are actually voting and people are starting to
fill out their ballots and get the early votes in,
I think gas prices will be back down and people
will not be talking about gas prices at all.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yes, I think that that's all true. I think the
economy is going to be a very strong place for
the Republicans overall. Politically, there is this always this possibility
of some issue with the war in Iran escalating a bit,
so we can continue to we will continue to watch
that closely. But here is CNN's This is cut twenty guys,
(11:24):
CNN's data guru, their version of Ryan Gerdosky Harry Entin,
who is saying that if you look at President Trump
at this point of his presidency compared to other two
termers in their second term, well, listen to man himself
play twenty.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Republicans love Donald Trump more than any president's own party
supporters loved them at this particular point. Just take a
look here, okay, own party supporters twenty first century president's
own party approval about at this point the second term.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Bush was at seventy seven percent.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Obama was it seventy six percent.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Look at this.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Eighty six percent.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Of Republicans approve of the job that Donald Trump is
doing at this point. That is higher than either Obama
or Bush had within their own party at this point.
We're going to look at these same presidents again, strong
approval among your own parties base, which you see here
is Trump is the only one who gets the majority
at this point in their presidency. Obama was at forty
eight percent, Bush was at forty seven percent. You see
(12:25):
here Trump at fifty three percent, not as high as
overall approval rating, but still getting a majority of the
Republican base.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
He's getting it done. Just compare the numbers. See where
he is, See where the Republican base is. Right now.
People can get very easily frustrated and exasperated with those
in power because maybe a little the party out of
power tends to create unrealistic expectations and take cheap shots
and all of that, but overall, Trump is going into
(12:53):
his second year of term two in a very strong position.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
I think also this is important primary in the context
of there's a desperate attempt at CNN, MSNBC, New York Times,
Washington Post, whatever outlets you want to point to on
the legacy left wing perspective to constantly argue, oh, there's
a few Trump's bases turning against him. There is never
(13:18):
going to be a time where that is true. They
have been wishing it, trying to wish it into existence
for a decade now. People may not agree with everything
that Trump does, but the idea that people are going
to suddenly buy mass amounts who voted for Trump two
or three times over the last decade suddenly say hey,
I don't agree with President Trump. It's just not going
to happen. But pay attention to the fact that they're
(13:39):
going to constantly try to attempt it. Okay, we got
some stuff to react to. By the way, did you
see the mayor's wife Buck when we come out of
this next break? Mom, Donnie's wife celebrated the October seventh,
twenty twenty three terror attacks with likes on her social
media accounts for the deaths. The murders that occurred not
a surprise, But this is I did not see that.
(14:01):
This is that I want to share with people. We
got some funny things from James Tallerico, who is just
an utter disaster for Democrats. And may be the case
that I have misspoken and I may no longer be
able to live in the state of Tennessee. We will
discuss this and more as we continue with the third
hour of the Friday edition of the program. But look,
(14:23):
you can lose power. We've seen it happen a lot.
A lot of people in my home state of Tennessee,
my home city of Nashville lost power, and a lot
of you are constantly dealing with this, whether it's during
hurricane season, tornado season, snow and ice season. So many
different things can go wrong that knocks out your power
and you may need to stay in touch. This is
what happened with Buck's sister in law when Asheville got hit.
(14:47):
She was able to stay in touch with everybody through
rapid radios. If you want to stay in touch with
your friends and family, ensure that you're able to connect
and that you have a charge that will last five
days without needing to recharge in the event that you
do lose power.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
This what a rappid radio is all for.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
We had a bunch of people reach out after the
ice storms in Nashville and went all the way down
into Mississippi. One of our listeners wrote and said, Hey,
the only way I was able to get in touch
with my daughter at Ole, miss at the University of
Mississippi down there was because she had rapid radios. It
was a purchase we made in the event of disaster,
natural disaster, and we were able to stay in touch
with her. If you want to prepare yourself for the worst,
(15:24):
you need to have rapid radios.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
We have them.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
They're fully charged, ready to go in the Travis household.
When the world goes quiet, make sure you don't communication redefine.
That's rapid Radios dot Com. Check them out today, rapid
radios dot Com. All right, you guys have caught me.
(15:48):
I may not be able to return to my home
state of Tennessee. Here is the here's the talkback from
the calling me out. I thought he was wrong, but
let's play it as a fellow born and raised Tennessee
and I'm shaking my head that you called Davy Crockett,
a legendary Texan.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
He was born in Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Dude, all right, I said, there's no way. I said that.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Evidently, unfortunately there is tape and the team went back
because they hate me, and they found it.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
And this is cut twenty one. We've been saying for
some time.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Crockett coffee not connected to Jasmine Crockett, named after the
legendary Texan Davy Crockett. Oh no, this is not good, buck,
I am done in Tennessee. Tac AD's gonna come soon.
I did, however, think that there was a benefit thanks
to AI. This is what the transcript now reflects. This
is like Joe Biden's team Cut twenty one A we've
(16:43):
been saying for some time. Crockett coffee not connected the
Jasmine Crockett, named after the legendary Tennesseean Davy Crockett.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
There you go, seamless, fit amazing. Nobody's even gonna note.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
This is the crazy world we live in now that
it's just so hard to tell the difference, and it's
so clearly not produce your Greg's voiceover that corrected that
for you. So I'm glad to see that. I'm glad
to see it. We are going to get into more
talk packs and more of your emails and all of
that good stuff here shortly, you know, Clay, You know,
(17:18):
with age comes wisdom. You know what else happens? You
get aches and pains. I have tennis elbow, but not
from tennis, from Padel, which I have started to play
down here in Miami.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Between this and your what's that pistachio ice cream? And
what's the type of water that you drink?
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Now, Pellegrino, I know I'm going to Miami off all
of this. The pistachio crembrulet is still a delicious dessert.
But I've got padel elbow. Now, It's a real thing.

being an old dude. So how do we ununk you
get more people to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
At least that's what my kids tell me.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
That's simple enough. Just search the Klay Travis and Buck
Sexton show and hit the subscribe button.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Takes less than five seconds to help ununk me.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Do it for Clay, do it for freedom and get
great content while you're there. The Klay Travisen Buck Sexton
Show YouTube channel. Before we get into this Mom Donnie story,
which is stuff a mom Donnie's wife. Actually, Clay, why
don't you tell everybody what you do in DC? Man?
You know what's what's going what's going on there?
Speaker 1 (19:36):
The reason I was late. I flew up to DC.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
I'm only up here, down and back same day on
my beloved Southwest Airlines. There's actually a really cool panel
on the future of college sports. And I know a
lot of you are big college sports fans, but basically,
as players have begun to be paid, it has created
(19:59):
and absolute mess that I think most fans out there
agree needs to be fixed. And this gets into Leeds
a little bit, but it is going to require if
we want to fix it, I think congressional action.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Now.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
I don't know if Congress can pass anything right now,
to be frank, but President Trump, in addition to building
ballrooms and victory arches and doing engaging in actions in
Venezuela and maybe Cuba and certainly Iran, is trying to
fix everything out there. And so people from Nick Saban,
Urban Meyer, a lot of different people affiliated with college
(20:38):
sports are going to be at the White House. I'm
going to be on a panel. I think it's going
to be carried live on Fox News at four pm Eastern,
and the presidents trying to put together a plan to
solve many of the issues but deviling college sports right now,
and I'm going to be a part of it. So
with my background in media and politics and law, hopefully
I can be somewhat helpful.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
So that's what's going on.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
I'm to go to the panel and then go home,
pick up my kid at a lacrosse match, and head
to head into the House for the weekend. But hopefully
we can make some progress on trying to fix the
mess that is college athletics right now.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
I'm already hearing more about how here in Florida, because
of our lovely climate and the ability to play out
or sports pretty much year round, that there's a surgeon
interest in kids going to essentially sports first academies, with
the idea being you don't even have to go pro anymore,
and it's not just about getting recruited to a college.
(21:33):
You might be able to make seven figures. Now you say, okay,
well maybe you can only do that for a few years. Yeah,
starting out life in your early twenties, if you're making
a half million dollars a year for I think my
first job, I made thirty grand, So yeah, you know,
that's pretty good deal.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Look, the balancing act is going to be complicated because
you want people to be compensated for their talent. I'm
a capitalist, but I always say, and it takes people
sometimes a minute to think about it, but in sports,
the business is the competition, and the quality of the
competition is what dictates the success of the sport. And
(22:08):
so if you're creating competition that is not ideal, and
you're breaking the competitive balance in the process in the
long range, that is not a good solution. So got
to figure this out. If people are curious about it.
My Twitter handle, I laid out some of the complex
issues on it. But a lot of our friends, Senator
(22:29):
Ted cru Is going to be there, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Trump clearly, Eric Schmidt,
Senator from Missouri. A lot of people that have an
understanding of many different complex issues here, Nick Saban, Urban
Meyer who have had history and coaching. So I'm looking
forward to it. I have no idea truly what to
(22:49):
expect fully, but it'll be live at the White House.
I'm looking forward to getting over there and seeing everybody
in about thirty minutes.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
So I'm going to be headed over there.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
And now let's hear about the first call for the
New York dated crocket air. Yeah, so this is not
going to surprise people. Buck, but I was reading this
morning and I want to give credit to the group
that wrote about this. But Mamdanni has tried to has
tried to lean into.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
I think what it's fair to.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Say a lot of negative connotation surrounding Jewish people. I
think that's being very kind to him in New York City,
and he has tried to argue, oh, that's just being misconstrued,
that's being mischaracterized. I don't actually believe these things. Jewish
Insider dot com, a reporting site, has a story up.
(23:39):
I shared it. I am retweeting it right now. If
you are interested in reading it. It'll be up at
Claymbuck dot com too. Mayor Mom, Donnie's wife liked many
different social media post celebrating the October seventh terror attack
that led to twelve hundred Israeli deaths and two hundred
and fifty people be taken hostage. Now, everyone out there
(24:03):
who is married, I understand, and I do think it's
fair to say, hey, husbands and wives.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Don't agree on everything.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
I think it's pretty unlikely that there's very many husbands
and wives where one of them says, yay, I'm so
happy that Hamas killed a bunch of Jews, and the
other one is the exact opposite opinion. So there are
certain things where maybe husbands and wives, married couples, the
dating couples can differ, and all of you who have
(24:31):
spouses can acknowledge this. Certainly, my wife does not want
to be held accountable for everything that I say, trust me.
But I don't think there's very many couples where, again,
would you sign on to this book? One of them
is like, yeah, I'm so glad that a bunch of
Jews got murdered. Let me go celebrate October seventh, and
the other partner is absolutely horrified by that. I don't
(24:54):
think that's very common. Donnie has not commented on this.
It's his wife, not him, but she went on social
media and liked a ton of celebratory post for the
murder of innocent Israeli's on October seventh.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
I mean, he's horrible, She's horrible.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Let me put it in this context, book, If Milania
Trump had done this, do you think people would say, oh,
President Trump had nothing to do with it.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
No, I mean, of course, the media would be all
over it. I just this is what you get in
New York when you have some Communists that you decide
you're gonna put in charge of the city, and he's
gonna have people around him who are anti Somites. Keep
in mind, there are Jewish New Yorkers who are very Prommdani.
They don't care about this stuff. They think that the
(25:44):
hatred of Israel is somehow entirely separate from hatred of
them as Jews. I can tell you everyone I've ever
heard talking about how much they hate Israel, especially Remember
I'm not talking about criticizing Israeli policy. If you're celebrating
October seventh israelies, I mean you want Israelies. You hate
Jewish people. You hate Jewish people too. And this is
(26:04):
a very it's very obvious. Right, we don't need to
play this game that they want us to play. Of like, no,
it's different. I only cheer when the Zionists are being
bruly murdered for no reason in the street when no,
no Jews. They hate Jews, and so yeah, she an
anti semi she is. But there are Jewish liberals in
New York who support Mom. Donnians probably support her anyway.
(26:25):
You know, it's the it's the old enemy of my
enemy is my friends thing with them. They don't really
care as long as they're pulling down the load bearing
walls of Western civilization, going full COMMI they're they're fine
with it.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
I do think.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Look, if we're going to play fair stakes here, if
you paid attention when President Trump shared the the meme
video which was designed to be humorous about Barack and
Michelle Obama, and it just played on a recording. For
those of you who remember that controversy, it was front
page news. I think the wife of the mayor in
(26:57):
New York City celebrating them of twelve hundred innocent Jews
and the captivity of two hundred and fifty other innocent Jews,
many of whom would be murdered while they were in captivity,
should be And I know I'm the old school because
I was reading the newspaper on my flights up to
d C.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Today.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
I know that this should be the front page of
the New York Times, and certainly the New York Times,
but also the Washington Post based on the way they
cover Trump's social media posts.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Will it Will any.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Of you see this covered anywhere other than a show
like this or a site like the one that covered it.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
It's but honestly, it's tough. She's not an elected office
there women ask him?
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Will they even ask him about it? I mean, I
think that's fair to say, Hey, your wife is celebrating
the murder of Jews.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Do you think maybe that's a little bit wrong?
Speaker 2 (27:46):
I mean, I get It'll just he'll say, my wife,
you'll get news and my wife is allowed to have opinions,
and he'll just move on. I'm just I don't even
think you're not gonna well, he won't get asked. But
if he did get asked, he would just say, my
wife loves Jewish people. And this is what they just
gas light you. They ignore. It doesn't matter, the evidence
doesn't matter. Someone should write a book about this. Maybe
somebody did, called Manufacturing Delusion, which you should go get
(28:08):
a copy of this weekend. If you have not already
available on Amazon or wherever you get your books, because Clay,
the game with them is just say you didn't see
the thing you saw, or yeah, what I said doesn't matter.
This is it's just like with Gavin Newsom. It's all
it's all this, it's all the same stuff, and unfortunately
it works with people, and it works works well on
(28:29):
off of New York City. They're just going to figure
out the hard way that this guy is the mayor
of New York and everything that he says he's going
to do that's a positive, he will make worse. He
came into office to make people's lives more affordable. He's
gonna make them less affordable. And they still won't learn
the lesson, you know why, because whatever he does, they'll
say he didn't do enough of it. That's the problem.
(28:51):
This was the whole thing with with like Obama and
all the spending after the after the Great Recession, because
it causes it. There's all kinds of waste and inflation
and everything else, and it was always well, he just
didn't spend It's not that he spent too much money
on Democrat priority. He didn't spend enough. That's why we
had this is they have a fever and the only
(29:12):
prescription is more cowbell. This is how Democrats are with everything.
That's why we just can't let them be in charge.
We just had on brand alignment from the federalists talking
about the you elect Republicans, fewer people die. Elect Republicans
to run your city, and fewer people will die by
the numbers. Do you think any Democrats care now whatever happened,
If it saves if it saves one life, that's that
(29:34):
they use that when they want, but of course they
never mean it.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
This is the unfortunate consequence of there being a non
consequential right, actual bad policy doesn't seem to change people
from rooting for what team they decided to root for.
And you would think in many of these blue cities
where violence has skyrocketed, thankfully it's coming back down because
(30:00):
of President Trump's decisions, that that would change.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
But it just hasn't.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
And I think again, the Mamdani argument, as you just
laid out, is a very difficult one to make in
the grand scheme of things. Look, I want to tell
you all about chalk here in the nation's capital, fast paced,

(31:26):
the show through the iHeart app. We encourage you to
go subscribe to the podcast and also to go subscribe
to the YouTube channel podcast listener Bill from Claremont, Florida,
and he's fired up about I think I said that
Heath Ledger was amazing as the joker, and he's not happy.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
F Everybody knows that Jack Nicholson plays the best joker.
I mean, I like, he's a legend and all, but no.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Way, nobody plays a joker like Jack Nicholson.
Speaker 6 (31:56):
I imagine your second favorite role he's ledgends is in
back Mountain.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Just throw it in a shot there, Jack Nicholson. Yeah,
I gotta I got a back. I got to back
my partner on this one. Here. Heath Ledger is a
better perform Jack Nicholson. Very good. It's a very good
joker performance. It's not it's no shaded him, but I
think Heath Ledger. The one that I actually thought people
might take issue with is the Joaquin Phoenix joker versus
(32:27):
the Heath Ledger joker.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yes, and that performance. Also there's three, you know, elite
Academy Award winning esque performances.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Delenda from Katie Texas kat r h. G.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
H play, but you are wrong.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
The leaf blown before nine am. I live on Gulf
Coast of Texas.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
In the summertime, you get out there early in the
morning and get your yard work done because by ten
o'clock you ready.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
To be back in the house and be done.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Do it in the evening. Do it in the evening.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
That's my suggestion to you, Tim, get back out in
the evening. Nice summer glow. And also there's not as
many leaves down in general in the summer as there
is in the fall, which is when primary leaf blowing.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
These leaf blowers are an intransigent bunch, really really dug
in on their leaf blowing positions. Here anytime, anywhere, as
long as they want. You know, I don't know. I
think the leaf blowers might need to rethink some of
this stuff.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Podcast.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
I agree with Buck, but send all your angry comments
to Buck, because he's the one you're really gonna be
mad at. Podcast listener listener Chris from San Antonio?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
What you got for us? Jay?
Speaker 6 (34:20):
Hey, March sixth, sphyse. You haven't mentioned it yet since
you guys are all up on coffee as a Actually
the last day of the Alamo, the final day of
the siege. So you guys are both pretty big issue buffs.
You may know that, but an easy to get mentioned
on your.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Program, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Let's go on and go to Crockett Coffee dot com
for legendary Tennessee and and mythical Texan Davy Crockett podcast listener.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
We just hit Chris.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
How about let's see Kay, who's a podcast listener?
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Kay?
Speaker 1 (34:54):
No name that has a history lesson for all of us.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Hey, I'm just tom to give it hit you back
man here. Davy Crockett got voted out of office twice
by Tennessee and he told them to go to hell.
He was going to Texas. I'm sure Texans claiming you're clear.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
My man, that is very uh. I appreciate back. And
again we've got ai. We cleared it up. Nobody can
tell the difference, now, Buck. I hope you survive Paddel
this weekend. I hope all of you have.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
I'm on, I'm on injured reserve. Oh you're actually out.
I can't, man, my elbow is all swollen off. And
once you get to me, once you get to be
old like me, things just start to break down on you. Buddy.
You know I need to uh, I need to go
do some dry needling, some cupping. These are the things
you do now in pt You ever done any of
this stuff. It's funky.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
The the I've not. I barely do anything to be healthy.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Some people listening to this are also like, you could
try whiskey, Buck, that would work too, which is a
fair point.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
That is a fair point. Indeed.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Look, I hope everybody has a great weekend. We'll be
back on Monday breaking down the absolute latest on the
war in Iran and more. And we appreciate all of you.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
You don't have a movie or a book wreck for everybody.
For this weekend.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
I went to go see sem I went to go
see Scream seven, but I guarantee you that you hate
the entire Scream franchise, so I didn't even bring it up.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
No, Scream one is good. Scream one is good, but
I'm sure in descending order, by the time you get
to Scream seven you wish that the bad guy would
knife you in the audience, like you just can't handle
it anymore.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
I didn't think it was bad.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
It was a nostalgic callback, too much of what happened
all the way back in nineteen ninety six.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
You're too nice about movies. What is the last movie
you saw that you would actually agree is trash? What
is the last movie?
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I watched that Bogonia movie, which is I think nominated
for an Academy Award, and I was like, this whole
thing is just I didn't enjoy it all. I thought
it was awful, and they nominated it for Academy Award,
So obviously I can't be trusted on movies.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
You might have to take a shot of intramuscular testoster
after watching that.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
That's tough. I know it was a Laura choice, not mine.
Scream seven is not bad, speaking.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Truth and having fun.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton,
