when did y'all first fall in love with Michael jack

the only es I had of him for a while.
Like I knew his music, but like I didn't know
his full artistry. It wasn't until he passed. And I
mean everybody remember every year, but I remember was like,
I don't even remember what happened before in the beginning
of the day. I just remember like that moment on

and so that was the first time I saw everything,
like the visuals, the artistry, and it was in that
moment I was like, whoa, That's when I felt like
I was young, but I felt the magnitude like who
he was, you know, seeing like Thriller and Beat It
and Scream and you know, all of these short films

that he made, iconic short films. Like honestly, I think
it was when they were playing the music videos they
played the Way you Make Me Feel?

they used to play music videos all.

Jackson a lot.

So I grew up loving Michael Jackson so much, and of
course we actually had the physical copies.

It was no streaming, and I just fell in love
with him.

But I felt so much more in love with him,
even more growing getting older than getting to know more
of his life, especially when soci.

Me it was involved.

I was able to get more in debt with his
life and understand more of the human side of things
than just to you know that the entertainer.

I got to know more of a human being.

But yeah, that's where it started though, But I was
literally like what eight nine ten.

Yeah, it was crazy for me, man, because like growing
up when I was a kid, like all I saw
about Michael Jackson was all the headliness that was for me.
So whenever my dad would tell me, you know, the
way you made me feel is also Michael Jackson, I
just instantly was like, no, he's a good person, Like like,
what are they talking about? He's like, y'all are shripping, yeah,
and so like from that moment, the way you made

me feel, I mean, I just remember just jumping, just naturally,
just naturally jumping, and then I heard pat and then
I think after that I heard remember the time. So
those three were the ones that did it for me.
So I was like, oh, yeah, MJ is MJ's my man.
To your point, man, I mean I remember where I
was when MJ died. I mean I was at my

dad picked me up from summer camp and he was like,
he was like a son, Michael Jackson's in the hospital.
So I'm thinking, like, okay. So another favorite band of
mine Iserve Win the Fire. So the lead Sigamore, he's white.
He was sick for the longest he was my dad.
He used to tell me he was forever sick. So
I was like, Okay, MJ will be fine. So I'm thinking,
like MJ not on tour or whatever. So man, we're

playing basketball the Why and in the gend that had
like a big old like mini almost like a Titan
Tron Van Tron. And when that thing said breaking news,
Michael Jackson got everybody in the game just stopped in
their tracks. I mean, I was bawling uncontrollably, like it
was man. That was Yeah, that was a dark that
in Kobe, those two worlds, those two world stoppers. But

that's not why we here. We're here to talk about
the legacy. It's a celebration game. I always say this
on my show. Every episode is a celebrate, celebration voices
that deserve to be heard. We talk about it on
every single episode. This episode is no different. So now
that we got our love for Michael out the way man,
we got to talk about just like the Legacy and

the movie because like I remember hearing whispers about it
coming out, like yeah, twenty twenty three. So I'm like,
and so when they said Jafarr Jackson was playing them
food his closer, I knew he was like Jamain's his son,
but I didn't think of him as anything other than
that Jan's son, Like he sings and all that. It's cool.
But when I first heard it and I saw that picture,
that famous picture of him look in the mirror, I

I'll see y'all soon. So I'm like, how soon we
talk soon? How soon are we talking? Talking? Like you're
talking about next year? Two years? Like what's the deal.
So I mean, it was like a whole And then
when I heard Antoine Football and Graham King were on it,
I was like, yeah, they ain't got no choice but
to get this right. They got me training Day Bahamian Rhapsody.

was the first thing I saw on Instagram and I

the MJ musical and I'm like, wait, that's just far easy.
I was like that's so far and I'm like, Okay,
that's definitely dangerous arreh because I can tell from the drum. Yeah,
but I'm like this is crazy. And bro, the amount
of ads that I saw from that picture alone, like TikTok,

Twitter read it like everywhere. I mean, we ran with it.
Then it got to a point where it's like, all right,
can we get another one? Like we know, we like,
we understand y'all filming, but can we get another one?
Can we get another one? So I'm gonna lie y'all.
Twenty twenty four when it came to the movie was
stressful because it was because it was because man, it

was supposed to drop. If y'all remember April of twenty
twenty five, April April eighteen, yeah, I made like two
or three videos on t I talking about son you
got plans A five yes, yes, yes, and then they
pushed this. I was like over to October. So I'm like,
you know, I'm like, okay, that's marketing. Make thriller number one.
I get it said, I see the vision. I see

the vision. We couldn't see shit. Yeah, right now you
could see what I'm saying. We couldn't see it things.
I was like, okay, Comic CON's coming up, right, say
something like say something, can we get anything? Nothing cracks.
Then we heard rumors that they were reshooting, they were refilming,

and then they pushed it to April of twenty twenty six.
So I'm like, hey, y'all, look, I already got to
deal with this with GTA six. Yeh, don't do this
to me. Don't do this to me. And the funny
thing too, is shout out our guy soups man suits mirror. Yeah,
shout out suits man. So man, So, I remember he
saw video back in Comic Con or Media Con, like

back in twenty twenty four. Yeah, and I go, I
was in this conversation talking about something, Hey, just give

a ta I was. But seeing tonight, I'm like, oh,
I get it, Like, yeah, I get why he didn't

So fast forward twenty twenty five. Still ain't getting nothing,

decided to drop a gem November of last year. Yeah,
and I was. I remember I was going on a run.

when I saw that teaser, I mean I stopped my
run when inside sat down like this, this fool just

that was going on this trip, I was like, yeah,

is getting chills down your body, running through the course
of your body. I'm watching a trailer and I'm like,

I'm like, first of all, cooling Domingo. Man, he looked

so good at Joe j I thought me mad. I
thought I was getting my woo, I was getting the whoop,
and I was just like, I was like, oh, let

I heard you far talking about something, you know what

and we've got a lot of noise. Yeah, Friday night,

the clip show. Apparently we made three innocent black man

say when the trailer first came out, I would say,

I never thought like raise the marketing rich because I'm like,

Bowl wrap up, let the win on the Olympics wrap up.

these activations all over like New York that activation in
New York and pop up and the populap I'm talking

that marketing was like, relax, respectfully'all don't know what you're
talking about.

And so I'm like, I'm strong, like, okay, why is
there a difference here? And then I read Michael Jackson

Even the specific car was next to I was literally
in the car at a red light checking my email
and I seen lions Gate and my first thought was
this is a scam.

Once I parted, I had to I had to do
some deep research. I'm like, oh, this is legit. Oh
you know what I mean, Like this type of opportunity never.

Comes across for me at all. But I read it
it was like no second thoughts. I'm like, yeah, come
on now, Michael, Yeah, no second thoughts. And I had
a good amount of roadblocks on it, like I had
to get another passport expedited, get it regularly expedited.

It would take more than the weeks that you know,
they it.

Was probably two weeks ago, so I literally had to
like drive five hours away just to get my passport
same day before that, I could have found cirtificates. But anyway,
it was roadblocked. But everything kept aligning, you know, because
I was I was willing. I'm not I'm not missing
this in my life, and everything aligned up. I just

literally got my passport last Friday and was able to
make the plane this week.

And I'm telling you, like I'm just in the moment
right now, right now.

It's completely shock when I got it, like me, like,
I know how many followers I got and all that,
but it didn't hit me. But after all this experience,
I know I darned to be here. So they picked
the right person. What I put out, like my energy
is authentic. Anybody knows that. Y'all see the people that
met me today that followed me like, yeah, they felt

the energy and the vibe and I'm authentic with it.

I'm not fake with it. I called that too. I said,

I see he like messaged me twice, called me twice,
and I'm checking my email.

So answered the phone, and he's just like ecstatic. He's like, hey, man,
got a really cool opportunity for you, he said. Moment
he said lying Gate, I started smiling because I was
just like, like, I know, like when I made my video, man,
I'd always said as a joke, like, you know, they
gonna send me to the premiere. I'm here like New
York LA. So I'm like, you know, I'm waiting for
him to time, like you go into New York or
you go to LA.

So I'm like, why hose for you?

She's like, you know, Lions Gates saw your video has
catching a lot of attention. You know, they are considering
sending you to the premiere. I'm like, you know, I'm like,

I said what through the phone on the couch. I
was in the kitchen screaming across the room like what
do you mean? What do you mean? I'm going to Berlin.
First first movie premiere, first time in Europe. Oh really,

delicious First of all, the buffet at this hotel, trying

know what it is about Germany and their eggs, but

And it's crazy because it's like I felt like we

forgot that it was like the premiere year. But like

we get on that bus and we get off that
bus and we just see the sea of people not
just waiting to get in, but also on the red carpet,

When the first thing that came out of Joe's Mountain

I've seen like The Avengers of Spider Man. We've all seen, right, Yeah,
but this gave me a new appreciation for movies because
no movie made me feel something like this right now.
When the Three Spider Mans came back, that was great, yeah,
but it wasn't this. It was like it made me

feel something and it's like, yo, it makes me want
to go and explore new avenues of movies. I'm I'm
taking soups and brain and talks. Job, I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that, but it was like it just
gave me a new appreciation for cinematic just masterpieces. And

must worsful and they might as well just hand an

So I grew up loving Michael Jackson so much, and of

But I felt so much more in love with him,
even more growing getting older than getting to know more
of his life, especially when soci.

I was able to get more in debt with his
life and understand more of the human side of things
than just to you know that the entertainer.

I got to know more of a human being.

Yeah, it was crazy for me, man, because like growing
up when I was a kid, like all I saw
about Michael Jackson was all the headliness that was for me.
So whenever my dad would tell me, you know, the
way you made me feel is also Michael Jackson, I
just instantly was like, no, he's a good person, Like like,
what are they talking about? He's like, y'all are shripping, yeah,
and so like from that moment, the way you made

me feel, I mean, I just remember just jumping, just naturally,
just naturally jumping, and then I heard pat and then
I think after that I heard remember the time. So
those three were the ones that did it for me.
So I was like, oh, yeah, MJ is MJ's my man.
To your point, man, I mean I remember where I
was when MJ died. I mean I was at my

dad picked me up from summer camp and he was like,
he was like a son, Michael Jackson's in the hospital.

literally got my passport last Friday and was able to

delicious First of all, the buffet at this hotel, trying

bus and we just see the sea of people not

so he had on the Beat a jacket and the

seeing just like his dance and just like his like
just pays that might have been one of my favorite

The only part that stopped it was when they said

but Billy Jean. Because they had a meeting with the

he goes, you need to try harder pushing Billy Jean.
So the CBS, remember CBS called him like a gangster.
He was like, you put Michael on MTV taking artists,
every artist, Billy Joel that the bird. I was like, oh,
he's not playing, because I thought it was playing the

first but I'm like, oh, he and they went straight
to Billy Jean Motown twenty five and it was just
like I didn't even like to say.

I like how they kind of touched on how Michael
handles like business, Yeah, because I think that's one thing
that people don't know very much about Michael.

to cover my eyes for that part because I almost
did because I'm like, that's just a terrible that's just
like a terrible memory. And it's sad because you saw
a little bit of it in the in the trailer
give him on the stretcher, like seeing it and I
was like, oh no, no, no, not get this off man.
When the first thing that came out of Joe's Mountain

the hospital was you think he will be ready to
be right there, send me off, bro, when I tell you,
I like, bro, I just able to perform, right. It
was like he could have died, like can performed. But
I was like, your son, your money maker died and
it's like dam And I don't think he really knew

would have died. Just imagine how painful is your nerve

crazy and he still got up there and with his brother.

like I was never really the biggest movie gut grown up, right,
Like I would see movies here and there, like I
would see the traditional like black movies of course, like

I remember, I remember when I saw a lot of
you taking it there. It's hilarious. But it's like I
remember seeing like straight out of Compton, Hemi and rhaps
I've seen like The Avengers of Spider Man. We've all seen, right, Yeah,
but this gave me a new appreciation for movies because
no movie made me feel something like this right now.
When the Three Spider Mans came back, that was great, yeah,
but it wasn't this. It was like it made me

feel something and it's like, yo, it makes me want
to go and explore new avenues of movies. I'm I'm
taking soups and brain and talks. Job, I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that, but it was like it just
gave me a new appreciation for cinematic just masterpieces. And
it's like I'm telling y'all like this is I'm not
gonna say some must much, but it's a it's a
must worsful and they might as well just hand an

oscar to them now and coming to make them, both
of them, both of them. I mean yeah, I mean,
so that was that. That that whole experience was just unbelievable.
