we just watch? I want to watch it again? Like
right now? Hey, hey y'all, what's up?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Man?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Welcome to the Clifford Show. As you can see, I'm
not home. I'm not in studio. We are in Berlin, Germany,
and we got some special special special guests that you
can see. We all got Michael Jackson fitthng. You probably
know what this city is. So we just left the
Michael movie premiere. So this episode is gonna be dropping
after the movie comes out world wide. Let's see we see.
(01:03):
You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying,
talk about it now. But man, ladies and gentlemen, I
got a special special guest to creative Juggernauts. I'm talking
Juggerden nots from New York. My man, mister mane Man,
come on now, I'm talking about it. And North Carolina, fellow,
North Carolina brothers, come on yeah, talk to him, man,
(01:27):
So the building. Man, before we even talk, there will
be sports and then you know that right now, But
before we get into the spoilers, right, fellas, we gotta
take it back. So before we even get into the movie, Man,
when did y'all first fall in love with Michael jack
I'm talking of pot Michael Joseph. Yeah, go back, yes, okay, yeah,
get on out, come on out, you for me? Uh
(01:52):
for me?
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Uh you know my mom was the first person to
put me on tonight and uh but it was very
like very vague. No, there was this book of like
black artists, you know I recognized like Stephen Wonder, Ray Charles,
you know who buch like Patty and the Bell and
stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
And I was like, well, who's this one. She's like, oh,
that's Michael Jackson, right, And it was him a picture
of him.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Singing with a like with a fro. So that was
the only es I had of him for a while.
Like I knew his music, but like I didn't know
his full artistry. It wasn't until he passed. And I
mean everybody remember every year, but I remember was like,
I don't even remember what happened before in the beginning
of the day. I just remember like that moment on
(02:31):
and so that was the first time I saw everything,
like the visuals, the artistry, and it was in that
moment I was like, whoa, That's when I felt like
I was young, but I felt the magnitude like who
he was, you know, seeing like Thriller and Beat It
and Scream and you know, all of these short films
(02:53):
that he made, iconic short films. Like honestly, I think
it was when they were playing the music videos they
played the Way you Make Me Feel?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, that was it for me. That was it for me.
That was it for me. Yeah, he's just out there. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
And that was the first time like from he when
he sang in the beginning, yeah, forget it, forget it,
It's over there.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Joseph Moonwalker's I mean, actually, I just realized I'm wearing
these indoors my bad my man Joab, my bad John
and saying we brothers, not we're gonna what's that groute
you had called the Jackson. You know what, yes, yes,
so mister Joseph, mister jose Man. So everybody knows you
(03:35):
as Joseph Moonwalker. So like for you, when did Joe
Love Jay start? Because I'm really curious about this.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Y'all don't know they know now I'm actually eighties baby,
nineties kid, and that.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I'm still in the now, y'all. I'm still Yeah, I'm
still in the now.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
You know, I've seen the like the premieres when they
premier you know, music videos, and uh, I think what
stuck with me? It sounds cliche, but at the same time,
actually what it what it is, thriller. Thriller definitely signified.
That scared the hell out of me.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
All the like no life, that scared the hell out
of me. All the child was all the right we
all were, from.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
The beginning with the world warp scene to the zombie scene.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Even at the end when they bringing in the house.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah, that part, even when he turned around with them
eyes creamed me out too. But honestly, I'm boring. You
know you experienced when you watch it. You know when
they used to play music videos all.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
The time on TV. Yeah, BT, and you see Michael
Jackson a lot.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
So I grew up loving Michael Jackson so much, and of
course we actually had the physical copies.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
It was no streaming, and I just fell in love
with him.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
But I felt so much more in love with him,
even more growing getting older than getting to know more
of his life, especially when soci.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Me it was involved.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
I was able to get more in debt with his
life and understand more of the human side of things
than just to you know that the entertainer.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I got to know more of a human being.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
But yeah, that's where it started though, But I was
literally like what eight nine ten.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, it was crazy for me, man, because like growing
up when I was a kid, like all I saw
about Michael Jackson was all the headliness that was for me.
So whenever my dad would tell me, you know, the
way you made me feel is also Michael Jackson, I
just instantly was like, no, he's a good person, Like like,
what are they talking about? He's like, y'all are shripping, yeah,
and so like from that moment, the way you made
(05:44):
me feel, I mean, I just remember just jumping, just naturally,
just naturally jumping, and then I heard pat and then
I think after that I heard remember the time. So
those three were the ones that did it for me.
So I was like, oh, yeah, MJ is MJ's my man.
To your point, man, I mean I remember where I
was when MJ died. I mean I was at my
(06:05):
dad picked me up from summer camp and he was like,
he was like a son, Michael Jackson's in the hospital.
So I'm thinking, like, okay. So another favorite band of
mine Iserve Win the Fire. So the lead Sigamore, he's white.
He was sick for the longest he was my dad.
He used to tell me he was forever sick. So
I was like, Okay, MJ will be fine. So I'm thinking,
like MJ not on tour or whatever. So man, we're
(06:27):
playing basketball the Why and in the gend that had
like a big old like mini almost like a Titan
Tron Van Tron. And when that thing said breaking news,
Michael Jackson got everybody in the game just stopped in
their tracks. I mean, I was bawling uncontrollably, like it
was man. That was Yeah, that was a dark that
in Kobe, those two worlds, those two world stoppers. But
(06:51):
that's not why we here. We're here to talk about
the legacy. It's a celebration game. I always say this
on my show. Every episode is a celebrate, celebration voices
that deserve to be heard. We talk about it on
every single episode. This episode is no different. So now
that we got our love for Michael out the way man,
we got to talk about just like the Legacy and
(07:12):
the movie because like I remember hearing whispers about it
coming out, like yeah, twenty twenty three. So I'm like,
and so when they said Jafarr Jackson was playing them
food his closer, I knew he was like Jamain's his son,
but I didn't think of him as anything other than
that Jan's son, Like he sings and all that. It's cool.
But when I first heard it and I saw that picture,
that famous picture of him look in the mirror, I
(07:33):
was like, wait wait, wait, wait wait, and he was like,
I'll see y'all soon. So I'm like, how soon we
talk soon? How soon are we talking? Talking? Like you're
talking about next year? Two years? Like what's the deal.
So I mean, it was like a whole And then
when I heard Antoine Football and Graham King were on it,
I was like, yeah, they ain't got no choice but
to get this right. They got me training Day Bahamian Rhapsody.
(07:54):
I'm like, they gotta get it right out, they gotta
get it right. They did get it right, but they
got it get it right. So but man, it was
like that whole twenty twenty three Oh you just heard
was whispers and rumors, and then we finally saw that
first picture of Jafar. Oh yeah, Like I remember, it
was all NBA also weekend I landed in Indianapolis. That
was the first thing I saw on Instagram and I
(08:15):
was like, wait, oh, this is cool. I'm thinking it's
the MJ musical and I'm like, wait, that's just far easy.
I was like that's so far and I'm like, Okay,
that's definitely dangerous arreh because I can tell from the drum. Yeah,
but I'm like this is crazy. And bro, the amount
of ads that I saw from that picture alone, like TikTok,
(08:35):
Twitter read it like everywhere. I mean, we ran with it.
Then it got to a point where it's like, all right,
can we get another one? Like we know, we like,
we understand y'all filming, but can we get another one?
Can we get another one? So I'm gonna lie y'all.
Twenty twenty four when it came to the movie was
stressful because it was because it was because man, it
(08:56):
was supposed to drop. If y'all remember April of twenty
twenty five, April April eighteen, yeah, I made like two
or three videos on t I talking about son you
got plans A five yes, yes, yes, and then they
pushed this. I was like over to October. So I'm like,
you know, I'm like, okay, that's marketing. Make thriller number one.
I get it said, I see the vision. I see
(09:18):
the vision. We couldn't see shit. Yeah, right now you
could see what I'm saying. We couldn't see it things.
I was like, okay, Comic CON's coming up, right, say
something like say something, can we get anything? Nothing cracks.
Then we heard rumors that they were reshooting, they were refilming,
(09:39):
and then they pushed it to April of twenty twenty six.
So I'm like, hey, y'all, look, I already got to
deal with this with GTA six. Yeh, don't do this
to me. Don't do this to me. And the funny
thing too, is shout out our guy soups man suits mirror. Yeah,
shout out suits man. So man, So, I remember he
saw video back in Comic Con or Media Con, like
(10:00):
back in twenty twenty four. Yeah, and I go, I
was in this conversation talking about something, Hey, just give
us something like you take one, like take one with
a ta I was. But seeing tonight, I'm like, oh,
I get it, Like, yeah, I get why he didn't
stay down there. And I was like yeah, but yeah, man.
So fast forward twenty twenty five. Still ain't getting nothing,
A little a little doubt starts to creep in and
(10:21):
ain't got a little bit excuse me.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
But we did get a lot of a lot of
behind the scenes that we were even with behind the scenes.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Especially thriller.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Oh the leaks right young, that's right young when he
did the screen test and man in the mirror.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yes, yes, that crazy. Yes, I remember that was crazy.
I remember, yes, And I was like, oh, he's gonna
kill it once he he had that hair, was he
puts the hair on. Man, he makes up and stuff like, Oh,
he's gonna knock this, gonna heart man, all he need
is the shirt. Yeah. Man. So we had some leaks
him on top of the car in New York thriller
when he was a zombie like like we had a
(10:57):
couple with it was like we still something official me
some of it, you know, if you remember, like the
Michael movie accounts, it was just a black spring saying
talking about coming, talking about coming soon. And then Lionsgate
decided to drop a gem November of last year. Yeah,
and I was. I remember I was going on a run.
You remember where I were when that teaser came out? Remember,
(11:21):
I said earlier, I was saying this a lot lately,
like you see me here. I wasn't here, Yes, man,
when I saw that teaser, I mean I stopped my
run when inside sat down like this, this fool just
full critigue. I'm like, all right, that's Quincy. Yeah yeah,
(11:42):
all right, okay, that's that's off the wall, Mike, right,
all right here human nature piano. I hear those stop
you get up. Oh they got it. Girls fainting, Okay,
they got it, they got it, they got it. And
then all you hear is que ca the like for me,
please listen, I said, yo, come on, now you know
(12:02):
what what Also it was for me snaps. Yeah, yeah,
that's very Michael. Let's take it from the time I
was like, oh, come on as Michael.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I don't even say like because you know, whenever they
announced anything surrounding Michael Jackson, I feel like it's rightfully
so his fans are.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Very protective over Michael.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
It's like, you know, that's a that's the biggest legacy
you messing with. So it's like you gotta come correct.
And so I remember when they announced like Jafar was
going to be playing Michael. I was like, well, you know,
no better option than a Jackson. But you know, you
always want to see, like, you know, how will they do,
you know, being that this is you know, Jermaine, and
(12:43):
not that it was a problem or anything. I was
just like, how is this gonna you know, genetics and
all that. And then that clip of him singing at
Christmas It was a Christmas concert with Jackson, and I
was like I heard him sing.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
I say, ain't a way. I think this is even
before they announced a movie.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Actually it was, And it was like, wait a minute, that,
yeah that was Michael.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Ye I know that's Jermain's son, Jamain. Do think like that?
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, respected Jamay, but that was my And.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Then there was another one that came out. People thought
it was a I It was called like Universe of
Love or Legacy of Michael. It was like searching for
I was like tom out, tom out, I'm like, that's Jafar.
And he had never acted, never never, you didn't even
he wasn't. He didn't want to be an actor, which
is which is mind bolf. He wanted to play golf, golf, golf,
(13:34):
put on Yeah, yeah, Tiger, we love you, but that
whole day. You better act, but you better act, yo,
man Andy.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
And then it's crazy to me that it was an
interview recently that he rather stick with acting now than
seeing I saw that and that that I loved that
because the fact that Michael took over the avenue of
you know, singing, Yeah, I'm really hoping.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
For the best for Jafar to take Yeah, absolutely, because
he's Good's amazing.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Michael was acting and he always wanted to do you
know what I mean, And this is passing the torch
to the Jafari bloodline.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
It's amazing. Yeah, that he started up here, started something,
he started something, started, he started something. Yeah, he did.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
I feel like, you know, the theme on this trip
for the three of us, especially like you know, hell
of a first yes.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Hey. By the way, y'all, I didn't even say this.
This is all of our first ever experience or movie premiere,
our first first and it was Michael Michael and yeah,
we in Berlin, right in Berlin, Germany. You know what
I'm saying, Berlin, right. He flew from New York. I
flew from Florida. He flew from North Carolina. But we
came from the States to Berlin. But there were but
(14:58):
there was people from Greece, Italy, you know what I'm saying,
Ireland now. Granted, first of all, can we talk about
how they were saying that they could tell we were
from the States. There were some people because you know,
I gotta tell you, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm talking about that.
You're talking about it because.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
They come up to three respectable yeah, you know what
I'm saying citizens, Yes, And.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I was like, oh, I can tell you from the
States right exactly. Mind you. The first thing they said
to us was like we going to the ship club
that I was like, they just got in. They just
got from the airport, just flew in. We sitting there
and a lot of being civilized, mingling, you know, building
drinking the billy jeans and you know what I'm saying,
little cocktails that they offered, that they offered John any
(15:44):
another one of those Oh yeah, oh yeah after the
sow Yeah yeah, yeah, I mean I was right. I
was like, like that sounded like I'm like, let's say,
three kid, black man. We ain't even say in that
crazy I'm on now. But yeah, like this whole experience
(16:05):
and it's crazy because it's like and we'll backtrack a
little bit too, but like when I found out everybody
that was going on this trip, I was like, yeah,
I've seen Joseph obviously, I just saw Yo skid at.
He's been a little intense. I'm running a tight ship
about this Michael Jackson movie.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Do you understand there's gonna be people showing up to
that movie theater who can't even moonwalk.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
They want to be starting something, And y'all, it's all him,
just me, it's all him, just incredible. Make sure you
guys go check out its content. I'm telling y'all, this
is a celebration, y'all. I say it all the time.
This is a celebration. Man. Speaking of celebrations, we gotta
(16:58):
pivot a little bit back. Yeah, we got fastward of February.
We got that trailer. Man, man, I'm telling you I
was on this. I was on this laptop right here.
Remember I was in was Super Bowl weekend. I was
in the bay and I sat down because I was
editing some stuff, and then I got a notification. I
pushed all that work inside, locked in. I saw the
trailer about fifteen times in a row. Yeah, like in
(17:19):
a row. See if I missed anything. And it's like
it's one of those things where it was like there's
not many times where you press play on the trailer
and you just in the course of like two seconds,
is getting chills down your body, running through the course
of your body. I'm watching a trailer and I'm like,
they got it right, Yeah, they got the trailer. Because
I'm like, first of all, cooling Domingo. Man, he looked
(17:41):
so good at Joe j I thought me mad. I
thought I was getting my woo, I was getting the whoop,
and I was just like, I was like, oh, let
me tell you. I'm like, oh oh. And then when
I heard you far talking about something, you know what
I'm after? Who was that? Y'all heard that? Right? Yeah?
What's going on about labs Ay song? Yo, y anyway,
(18:08):
and we've got a lot of noise. Yeah, Friday night,
it's Friday night tail. That's what happens when you get
the clip show. Apparently we made three innocent black man
just profiled all week a week, week week week. But man,
(18:33):
back to the trailer, they can't contain this, and they can't.
They can't contain it, y'all. They can't. It's a celebration.
They can't shut down a celebration. They can't. Can't do it.
Plus we don't know playing but no, Man, like that trailer,
it was two and a half minutes, was just straight
just like magic. It was magical, bro. And then just
(18:54):
like seeing we would get like different TV spots every
single week. I loved it. And it was like, yo,
like feeding us, like they're feeding us. And I will
say when the trailer first came out, I would say,
like for the most part of marrow, we would get like,
you know, seventy five days away, fifty days away. But
I never thought like raise the marketing rich because I'm like,
(19:17):
it's gonna it's gonna happen. It's gonna let the super
Bowl wrap up, let the win on the Olympics wrap up.
Let all that like wards all the let that simmer,
Let have Michael have it. Yes, let that simmer, and
were gonna be We're gonna be gold. And then like
around the end of March early April, we started seeing
these activations all over like New York that activation in
New York and pop up and the populap I'm talking
(19:38):
about Germany. There was like Brazil obviously here, yeah, And
I was like every one of you guys that said
that marketing was like, relax, respectfully'all don't know what you're
talking about.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
I'm talking about talking about between First of all, I remember,
like even the comments on the Michael Jackson Instagram page itself.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
It was like, y'all not even enough marketing. I'm like,
so to the Michael movie page, he ain't posting enough
for you. Yeah, speaking of getting speaking of getting posted
on Michael Jackson, my brother, hey man, were sitting in
the Present of Greatness show. Like I said, literally, Michael
Jackson posted off, brother, you know what I'm saying, I've
seen and I was like, hold up, you know what
I'm saying. And that was my reaction because it was
(20:19):
just like, you know, I.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Just happened to go on my phone and I'm seeing
like my video, but I'm like, that's not the thumbnail
that I set for this video. The thumbnail I set
was like me posing here the school's criminal. But the
thumb that that I was seeing was like my face.
I didn't make it my face. I'm vaming, not that vame.
And so I'm like, I'm strong, like, okay, why is
there a difference here? And then I read Michael Jackson
(20:43):
tagged you in a real your.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Soul and I'm like, the little car like we went
a little further that over head that way, yeah, kept
going past the walk.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Wherever the noise, I'm like out of mind listen literally,
And so now I'm like looking at it, I'm like, okay, well,
you know one, what do you mean them posted?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
M hm.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
So I'm thinking like, nah, this is is real repost
or something? You know what I'm saying, Yeah, I think
now this is real tab you know what I'm saying.
This ain't on the tap main feed. I'm right there,
I'm right there. I'm the most recent thing.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
This guy in page, this guy has in same year already,
in the years that just getting started. Q one twenty
twenty six has been unbelievable, unbelievable. And then and then
I got to ask, when y'all got that invitation to
this premiere? What was that like, Jay, I'll start with you. Yeah, Jay,
I'll start with you, because because let me tell you something,
(21:33):
Joseph Moonwalker's ley. Look, you got Michael Jackson's stands, and
then you got Joseph Moonwalker. It's the man right here,
the man with the plan. No one deserved this more
than you. Right. You know what I'm saying because I've
seen your videos for a very very very long time,
very long time, and so when I saw I was like, Yo,
Joseph's here. I'm like, they got this, they got the right,
(21:55):
they got direct. So what was that like when you
got that react? When you got that notification, I knew
exactly where I was, well free, I was on yeah,
literally probably.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Even the specific car was next to I was literally
in the car at a red light checking my email
and I seen lions Gate and my first thought was
this is a scam.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Once I parted, I had to I had to do
some deep research. I'm like, oh, this is legit. Oh
you know what I mean, Like this type of opportunity never.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Comes across for me at all. But I read it
it was like no second thoughts. I'm like, yeah, come
on now, Michael, Yeah, no second thoughts. And I had
a good amount of roadblocks on it, like I had
to get another passport expedited, get it regularly expedited.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
It would take more than the weeks that you know,
they it.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Was probably two weeks ago, so I literally had to
like drive five hours away just to get my passport
same day before that, I could have found cirtificates. But anyway,
it was roadblocked. But everything kept aligning, you know, because
I was I was willing. I'm not I'm not missing
this in my life, and everything aligned up. I just
(23:12):
literally got my passport last Friday and was able to
make the plane this week.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
And I'm telling you, like I'm just in the moment
right now, right now.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
It's completely shock when I got it, like me, like,
I know how many followers I got and all that,
but it didn't hit me. But after all this experience,
I know I darned to be here. So they picked
the right person. What I put out, like my energy
is authentic. Anybody knows that. Y'all see the people that
met me today that followed me like, yeah, they felt
(23:47):
the energy and the vibe and I'm authentic with it.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
I'm not fake with it. I called that too. I said,
some people don't recognize you.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
May know more about Michael Jackson than me, but they
not gonna have this feeling as much as I do.
And that's what Michael Jackson did. He made people feel
something music and definitely that movie man saying more, what
about you?
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Yeah? Oh, so I got a call right well, actually
know I was filming a video.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
I was actually having a pretty just rough week in general,
Like I was a little bit behind on my work,
and then I was just like just making the video
that I was making was just taking so much time,
and so I had like stopped for a moment, checked
my phone.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
My manager called me. I had heard my manager a
little minute. He knew none wrong. He didn't want to
put that out there. He an't do nothing wrong. He's great.
You see how I'm here right now.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Don't mess with him anyway. Come on, you know, I've
just been locking in, so I've just been busy, and
I see he like messaged me twice, called me twice,
and I'm checking my email.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
My phone is blown up. Yep, what happened?
Speaker 3 (24:52):
So answered the phone, and he's just like ecstatic. He's like, hey, man,
got a really cool opportunity for you, he said. Moment
he said lying Gate, I started smiling because I was
just like, like, I know, like when I made my video, man,
I'd always said as a joke, like, you know, they
gonna send me to the premiere. I'm here like New
York LA. So I'm like, you know, I'm waiting for
him to time, like you go into New York or
you go to LA.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
So I'm like, why hose for you?
Speaker 3 (25:14):
She's like, you know, Lions Gates saw your video has
catching a lot of attention. You know, they are considering
sending you to the premiere. I'm like, you know, I'm like,
hey man, He's like, I'm not done in Berlin.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I said what through the phone on the couch. I
was in the kitchen screaming across the room like what
do you mean? What do you mean? I'm going to Berlin.
First first movie premiere, first time in Europe. Oh really,
first time in Europe. What a time.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
It's also funny too, as my manager was like, you're
you gonna be free like the nineteen twelve, I said,
if I'm not, I will be Yep, I'm not missing
what playing. I got this bigger than my quick as
a moment now like nah, no, exactly, no. So I'm
just like hung up the phone straight to MAM's. Rod
was like, so they're sending me to Berlin.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
She said, wait for what? And yeah that was unreal? Unreal, man,
I tell you so with me my manager, he was like,
you're gonna want to record this?
Speaker 3 (26:19):
I really think you're gonna like this if I'm aren't
you a pretty big Michael Jackson fan?
Speaker 1 (26:26):
What you got going on? Camp you to a special
exclusive event in Berlin, Germany. End of the release of
the No Bro hold On, Hold On, hold On, hold On,
hold on Horror, What say one more time? And I
was taken aback. I was like I closed my eyes
and I was like, run that back more time, run
(26:47):
that back. And when he said it, it just like
all those like investments in the reddit's, in the twitters
and twenty it just all just came back to me
in a span of like a millisecond. Yeah. So I
was like, Yo, they've noticed the love they know. And
it's crazy too because traditionally I do like storytelling content,
sports content, but I would do Michael Jack content a
(27:10):
lot in between. So when I just went down the
rabbit hole, so all the MJ content I did, I
was like, I understand, I understand, I understand that. But man,
as soon as we got here, I mean I could
just feel it because there was actually a late lady
who brought her mom from Mexico City, all the way
from Mexico City for this and it's like, yo, people
all over the world are really coming for this premiere.
(27:33):
And it was just like so spiritual and so powerful.
So like when we got here, you know, we got
settled in, we did have to wait an hour so
to get our rooms. I tell you what soups was,
I mean out of there. But I tell you it's
like while we was waiting for our rooms, the three
of us, I mean like chopped up immediately. You would
have thought we grew up together. I mean it was
(27:53):
like we were talking our love for MGL, just for music,
the culture, like all that him it was. It was
already there. So and I literally said, like after like
an hour conversation with y'all, I was like, I got
to get y'all on the show. I had to because
it's like this our heart, baby, you know what I'm saying.
I said, it's a celebration, celebration for these guys and
Michael of course, but man, it's like these days, it
(28:15):
just like it just was rolling. It was just rolling.
So we get there, we land, you know, you relax
a little bit, and it's like we had that welcome
dinner with everybody, and it's like, yo, like that was
so that was so fun and the food was phenomenal.
Now the food was phenomenal. And then you know, last
night too, it was like we're meeting all these people
from all these different countries we're talking about, you know,
the people from London and earlier, and it was like, yo,
(28:37):
y'all going to the club already. We just we're trying
to get like locked in people. So like, yeah, we
were drinking a little bit, you know what I'm saying,
But it was like, yo, we're trying to tread lightly right.
And then come today, man, I wake up and I'm
just like I'm just feeling just so just like a
breath of just fresh air. You know, I'm having a
delicious First of all, the buffet at this hotel, trying
to get a chance of experience that man. Shout out, man,
(29:00):
shout out the Western Grand Berlin breakfast fire. I don't
know what it is about Germany and their eggs, but
they make it. I know, I've heard yea it is delicious.
But man, and then we get to the carpet and
it's just a festival. It is a festival. I mean
we're all dancing, hitting the moonwalk, the toe tap and
(29:20):
just rejoicing with Michael Jackson fans all over the world.
And it's crazy because it's like I felt like we
were celebrating the life of Michael. Like part of me
forgot that it was like the premiere year. But like
once I started seeing like the far Age far and
I'm like, yo, this is a cello grazing celebration. So
we get back, have about a couple hours kind of
(29:42):
like just relaxed, taking out whatever we do, and then
we get on that bus and we get off that
bus and we just see the sea of people not
just waiting to get in, but also on the red carpet,
just the sea of people, and I was just like, yo,
we might have arrived, like we.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Arrived outside running into the red carton on the red
car bottle.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Say, by the way, speaking of Getty, come on now
they're up, they're up. I couldn't find mine, but I
got to find that. Oh yeah, you know as soon
as I got on the bus, cliff or Tailor, and
I'm officially on Getty. Don't like it? Tell me? Yeah, man.
That was when they handed first of when they handed
us in black envelopes. I'm white. That's my name. Yeah,
(30:30):
that's my name, whole name government. Yes, yes, yes, crazy yeah,
that red carpet was was great, man. And then like
I mean, just getting in the theater and just connecting
with everybody, and then we took our seats. When we
finally took our seats, like I can just feel my
heart started now. And then we're like, all right, the
(31:11):
lights are off, and then this is a great time
to let y'all know. Now from here on out, the
rest of the episode will be If you haven't seen it,
don't watch this part. Thank you for watching The Clipper Show,
but don't watch this part. We love you, but don't
watch see it later now for those who have seen it,
welcome back. Yeah. So the lights go out, you see
(31:31):
the little universal thing and all you hear is and
it was the live wimbley version. I recognized it. I
recognized it immediately, and then it just cut to Michael
and his bad Arrow just like about to take the stage,
and the cloud fades to Gary, Indiana, nineteen sixties. I
(31:55):
was like, crazy, yo, And it was crazy because like
I'm thinking, they're going to show like like clips of Michael,
you know at recess, you know, being a kid. They went,
I mean straight the business, I mean straight to business.
Joe's like, Michael, right, get ready, and I'm like, yo, Coleman.
Coleman's already bugging out already. So they rehearsed, they're doing
(32:16):
all this and then they have they have a performance.
I thought it was good. I thought it was really good. Man.
Y'all ever seen that British content creator manc Ware. He
takes the belt off and says sacrificial lamb right man.
When Coleman Joe Jackson pulled the sacrificial lamb maneuver, I said, yo, Joe,
(32:38):
what you want to do? Like what you want to
do list? They did not shie. They went like they
can't all the way all the way we go, we
go all the way.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Yea, but even bring it back to when you know,
be starting something like come on the sound the sound
all when I tell you if.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
You can see this movie and Adobe, yes and yes.
Let me tell you.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
I've heard that album many a time. There live album
many times, spirit have AirPod Max's to hear.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
That album sound sound. It felt like I was in Wembley. Yep.
That bass was hitting, it was hitting. I've never heard
that sound like sound like that before. Yeah, it was unbelieva.
That was insane. But yeah, Joe was being Joe and
I was boom. But then like when you heard Junod's
voice in the studio and he couldn't stop dancing because
(33:34):
I didn't realize it, but I put it together because
that's what Joe taught him to move. Look but when
he started singing, when he started singing Who's Loving You?
And I want you back right, and I'm like all.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
These kids, like about all these he was doing the dance,
I was like, no, that's I was like, that's that's Mike.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, that's Mike. And it was like, I mean, because
he had his little thing for like I say, about
twenty thirty minutes of the show, and man, when they
pay to Jafar, that window. The crowd in that arena
went crazy, and then before and yeah, and then when
he talked, it was like it was like they got
(34:17):
it lost in me, they got it, and that he
was in that studio talking about don't stop till you
get enough. It's just the spirit and quins even Quincy,
Barry Gordon and Quinsy was like keeping steal man Barry Gordon.
Yeah like that, yeah, shout, you know what I'm saying.
(34:40):
He did the thing. And then love Lord Harrier, come
on man, yeah, Lord Harrier. It's work in progress, work
in progress. Oh man. But I mean as soon as
Jafar came on, I mean, just the spirit of Michael,
you just just selt it. And then what was othering me? Man?
(35:00):
It was like, yo, look, we're all for family, like
this show is a family. But then it gets to
a point where it's like you're getting a little extreme,
my guy, right, like to like, it was obvious that
Michael was gifted from the beginning, so I thought it
was gangster when he was like, yo, I own Michael
nine to five. And then it immediately panned to him
(35:22):
late at night recording Off the Walk, recording the Off
the Wall album and I'm like, yo, he was. He
was that dedicated to having a solo studio album. And
you know, I didn't even I didn't really process that,
Like I don't really got d I didn't know that
either of it. I didn't know that either. The first
time I ever heard about that. Yeah, Like it was
just like he really got up yesternight, middle of the night,
(35:42):
every night and just so determined to make this happen. Yes,
And it was like and then when they showed like
different parts of him, like trying to like write lyrics
what the name of the thriller album was going to
be called? Right, the beat first of all, for everybody
watch him, because everybody's gonna be like, he's not wearing
a blue shirt. They showed the rehearsal of beat it,
so he had on the Beat a jacket and the
(36:03):
white shirt that he wore laying down, but like just
seeing just like his dance and just like his like
just pays that might have been one of my favorite
and like you Not and like genuinely uniting the criss
I've heard stories about him you Not being actual crips
and bloods, and the Beating music video, it was actual
crips and blood, same shit in the way you make
me feel. Yes, yes, And I was like, this is
(36:25):
amazing and we ain't even get that. We didn't even
get the Billy Jane. But man, when we got so
there was one part and I actually I grabed joke
because I'm like, yo, you hear that. That's human nature.
When he was lying down, it was like du and
I'm like human nature. But damn man when he changed
(36:45):
that track or the name of the album, because it
was like every other name but Thriller. But then when
he put it on Thriller and it transitioned to him
as the zombie, I was like, yo, I'll swear to
you that. Michael Cliff, I was like, I thought they
got it clipped from Michael, Like, I swear to you.
The only part that stopped it was when they said
cut run it back, and I was like, yo, the
(37:08):
makeup teams got to get something. They have to get something.
They have to get something, they have to get something.
And it was like we saw that and then we
finally got a human nature. Right, they're not human nature
but Billy Jean. Because they had a meeting with the
people at CBS and Michael was like I'm trying to
(37:28):
push thriller to the sky, to the stratosphere. And then
he goes, you need to try harder pushing Billy Jean.
So the CBS, remember CBS called him like a gangster.
He was like, you put Michael on MTV taking artists,
every artist, Billy Joel that the bird. I was like, oh,
he's not playing, because I thought it was playing the
(37:49):
first but I'm like, oh, he and they went straight
to Billy Jean Motown twenty five and it was just
like I didn't even like to say.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
I like how they kind of touched on how Michael
handles like business, Yeah, because I think that's one thing
that people don't know very much about Michael.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
He was insane business man. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
His confidence doesn't only just exist on the stage when
he gets because in that meeting, when you're talking to
John brancle.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Yes, he was like, oh, yeah, you're my guy. You're
my guy. Michael saw so soft everybody else, but as
soon as he start branking like you're my god. You
just gotta tell my dad, you just gotta tell my
And it's crazy because like that, like he was like
genuinely like scared of Joe. I mean, I mean, I
was like I was in the yeah, like like I
ain't gonna lie, Joe Jackson, that's the top of character.
(38:33):
My dad was like, I ain't gonna lie like your dad.
You know that's true. He grasped the door handle he
was walking toward yet Bro. It was just like, it's like,
it's gonna do that to your family. And I'm like,
don't trap him like that. They don't do that, and
so it was it was so frustrating, and it was
not frustrating but sad for me when when they showed
the pepsi and the like it was a victory tour
(38:56):
when they showed the pepsi and then when his hair
like I'm not gonna lie, Like part of me wanted
to cover my eyes for that part because I almost
did because I'm like, that's just a terrible that's just
like a terrible memory. And it's sad because you saw
a little bit of it in the in the trailer
give him on the stretcher, like seeing it and I
was like, oh no, no, no, not get this off man.
When the first thing that came out of Joe's Mountain
(39:17):
the hospital was you think he will be ready to
be right there, send me off, bro, when I tell you,
I like, bro, I just able to perform, right. It
was like he could have died, like can performed. But
I was like, your son, your money maker died and
it's like dam And I don't think he really knew
(39:38):
how bad and burns were. Yeah, I didn't realize they
were that bad. I didn't realize it was that nerveless
his nerves. Like if the fire hit his close, he
would have died. Just imagine how painful is your nerve
is exposed. That'd be so traumatizing to die that way. Yeah,
like that that that oh man, that was that was
crazy and he still got up there and with his brother.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Dang, we can't even fathom how much Michael Jackson was
going through, like literally like when it comes to you know,
the fire incident and the tabloids and pressure on performing
ye and to deliver like he was going through and
with family like yeah, and still be able to have
(40:21):
compassion and also every single dollar and cents getting kids.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
I didn't know that. I didn't know that. I was like,
this dude was a genuine human being. To say what
you want about Mike, you ain't. You can't do that,
you're not doing all that.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
He got burned in that sat with burn victims literally
talk to that, you know what I'm saying, Like, that's
like Michael was special.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
He was going through something himself about me, about them,
and he still was like, you know what, I'm gonna
go on tour. I'm gonna do this tour with my brother.
I'm like, bro that, like, because if that was me,
I would have been like, oh no, you all got
to see all that bad at doing it. But man,
it's like man, seeing that last so was he so satisfying?
(41:07):
It was so satisfying because I'm like, he knew, he
knew he was leaving. The brothers knew. He kind of knew.
They kind of knew. They had it. They had a sense.
And then when they showed Nelon or Captain smiling, I'm like,
he knew it. The bodyguard knew it, La Toya knew it.
They all knew it except except Joe. Here goes Joe
just looking at him on saying they just you know
what I'm saying, they just did human They just did
(41:29):
human nature, which didn't before me. Let me tell you something,
the whole before me, I did it. I did it
for me, bro I did it one really like how
they just included that that tour in general.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Yeah, that you know, because that's I feel like it's
very much overlooked when you think about, like, you know,
I kind of go with Jacks performances, like you don't
really get to see the Victory.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Tour, you know, but like the moment he performed human Nature.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Yeah, and he hit them high notes hit I was like,
oh my, there was a moment where he man, he said,
everybody singing.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
And the whole whole, the whole theater was singing, the
whole theater. And that's what it was like. I couldn't
tell what was happening on screen or it was spiritual.
I was here vote, but we were loud. I can
hear more actual theater though, Like I can tell people.
I felt like he was talking to us. Yeah. And
(42:22):
then they went straight from there and again here go
Joe smile. And then they went to working day and night.
He was slow stop, He's like, I just want to
thank y'all, you know, Joe, I just want to say,
this is a last tour. And and so you saw
how I was doing that taping. Just now this whole
(42:44):
movie made me do that. Yeah, you know natural. Look,
I was like, I was doing a bunch of this,
like just natural. It was just spiritual and so man,
when I saw he was leaving, and then Joe was like,
this is how you gonna do your family and it
showed his feet and it transitioned to bad. I said,
and like and like him smiling like when he was
(43:08):
a kid. I was like, Yo, they they got this right.
I mean him performing in Wimbley That's.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Like that's again, like even though even I've heard that album,
I've seen that performance, but you're.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
That bad like that, you're in bad like right.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
It was like, yo, yeah, type of anticipation I've never expressed.
Michael Jackson count Yeah, that's the closest.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
I might never get gotten to that that type of height,
oh yeah, living and living up to it. Honestly, this
is the closest. I feel like weird.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
You can see the movie, but when you're in this
experience and seen the movie and the people around, we're
the only people who felt the presence of Mike.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Yeah. Absolutely, because his brothers was there, It's like family.
It was crazy. And then my favorite party and when
they said his story continues.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
Yo, Oh my mom was like, let's go, I still
want three more hours. Like, oh, yeah, I agree that
it did breeze by.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
How would you say the same thing happened with the
trailer too. Yeah, that was like a two minutes, but
it just change. I was like that really thirty seconds? Yeah,
it breezed by. But yeah, man, that that movie was incredible.
And I think the thing I appreciated about it the
most is because and I said it before too, It's
like I was never really the biggest movie gut grown up, right,
Like I would see movies here and there, like I
would see the traditional like black movies of course, like
(44:34):
I remember, I remember when I saw a lot of
you taking it there. It's hilarious. But it's like I
remember seeing like straight out of Compton, Hemi and rhaps
I've seen like The Avengers of Spider Man. We've all seen, right, Yeah,
but this gave me a new appreciation for movies because
no movie made me feel something like this right now.
When the Three Spider Mans came back, that was great, yeah,
but it wasn't this. It was like it made me
(44:54):
feel something and it's like, yo, it makes me want
to go and explore new avenues of movies. I'm I'm
taking soups and brain and talks. Job, I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that, but it was like it just
gave me a new appreciation for cinematic just masterpieces. And
it's like I'm telling y'all like this is I'm not
gonna say some must much, but it's a it's a
must worsful and they might as well just hand an
(45:16):
oscar to them now and coming to make them, both
of them, both of them. I mean yeah, I mean,
so that was that. That that whole experience was just unbelievable.
But yeah, man, guys, I can't thank y'all enough, Like
we still out one more day, but this weekend has
just been incredible. Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you guys for listening.
