In today's episode of The Daily Pursuit hosted by Tim Tebow, we draw from Ecclesiastes 10:10. This episode reminds us that God calls us to work both wisely and diligently—sharpening our minds, giving our best effort, and trusting Him to multiply what we place in His hands.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
If the axe is blunt and the one doesn't sharpen
the edge, then he must use more strength. But skill
bring success. Ecclesiastes ten ten. Work smarter, not harder, or
so the saying goes. But I'd say this, work smart

(00:31):
and work hard. Yes, be strategic, but also let's make
good decisions. God gave you a mind for a reason,
but pair that wisdom with work. Effort and dedication go
hand in hand with wisdom. Think about it. You can
swing an axe all day, but if you never stop
to sharpen it, you'll wear yourself out before you see results.

(00:53):
That's the point, ecclesiasts is making smart work and hard
work are meant to go together. Yes, the best athletes hustle,
but never aimlessly. They train with purpose. It's not one
or the other, it's both. The same is true in
our walk with Christ. We need to be wise with
where we invest our time and energy, and then we

(01:16):
need to give it everything we've got, all that we have.
So don't just choose one. Work smart and work hard,
and when you give your best and follow his lead,
God will do more than you ever could on your own.

(01:36):
Dear Jesus, thank you for both our minds and our bodies.
Thank you for the ability to think and the ability
to work. Give us both strength and wisdom to do
the work you have called us to do. Please renew
us when we are tired, and guide us when we
are confused or overwhelmed. Help us to lean not on
our own strength or understanding, but on yours. Thank you

(02:01):
for the great mission you have called us too. We
love you, and thank you for loving us. And Jesus name,
we pray Amen.
