those are those are the props.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I'm like you can't put multiple drinks in front of
me from Starbucks and be like, don't drink them.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Sam triid to drink one and Mike hit them.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
You guys gave them to me drink this said, Okay,
we set you up, Sam, I don't drink that. Michael
be here in a second, but we're gonna take your
phone calls before we get into this new feature here
on Covino and Rich. Everything at Covino and Rich eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. If you want to
call Dany j. Let's wrap up these phone calls. People
still call him from last hour about the guy's ass

(01:32):
out in the field, about like what a utility player is.
But it's not even that I got to fight about it.
It's like words change meaning over time. Yeah, terms slang,
they all change over time. I mean the importance of
things change over time. Like we said, batting average used
to mean something Now it really doesn't. Arises on what
his third team in three years well doesn't mean the same.

(01:54):
Yeah what what matters? Of course changes if in a
different generation he'd be a high paid athlete, except he
signed for like peanuts compared to power hitters. It does,
and he has batting titles matter as much because it changed.
And I'm starting to get the vibe that what we
thought of as a utility player has a little bit
of a different meaning now. And maybe that came from
the fact that we started awarding gold gloves to really

(02:16):
just versatile players.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Two more phone calls and we'll move on.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
We welcome Mike eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox,
and we got Danny.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Let's go to Kansas. Curtis's in the house.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Curtis, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Guys?

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Hey, Bud, I just wanted to kind of add something
to that baseball fight.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
And I can't believe.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I want to say, to take a page out of
the NBA, but I think the guy is coming from
the bullpen. That's overplayed. It's it's useless.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
If you come out of the bullpen, you need to
be suspended.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
If you come out of the dugout, you need to
be suspended a gate.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Let the guys on the field.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Take care of it. Well, it's interesting, he said, because
we're going to get into this a little more in a.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Second, I believe. So, okay, okay, I'll hold my thought there.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, thanks for calling, because that was that was interesting
to see last night, for sure, and suspensions were made
seven games each for.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Solar and Lopez. Who we got one more phone call?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, let's wrap up the phones right now with Jeff
and San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Hey, what up Jeff? Jeff and San Francisco you're on? Yeah,
Jeff you're on.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I saw you, Jeff, Jeff take two and action Jeff,
think you got and gentlemen give it up for Jeff.
Is Jeff the kid you pants back in the day
and he froze. Jeff is the guy that was listening
to the radio. And then when we said Jeff, you're there,
I hope he's okay. Jeff called back anytime. All right, Well,

(03:49):
it's an empty fillure when you interest someone and they're
not there. We're going to make a slight pivot on Wednesdays.
No one's worried about Jeff brother. I mean, Jeff will
call back. We have a new feature. Big Mike has
given us all his wisdom and now we're gonna let
him run a segment. The only thing he runs, by
the way, are you reading that a piece of papers?
Mike gets to pick a topic each week, anything that's

(04:11):
triggering him, and then we weigh in.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's time for Mike, who runs this take produce the
microphone assassinate. It's time for Mike, who runs this take?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Who.

Speaker 7 (04:23):
Big Mike may get to be in charge of the segment,
but he still doesn't run this place. He really doesn't
even run this segment when you think about it, because
this Mike can be turned off by Sam at any moment.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
That may be true, but Big Mike does get to
pick the topic and then CNR offer their strong opinions
on it. Consider it a warm up to midweek Mature
Mike who runs this take?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Who Mike segment?

Speaker 8 (04:46):
Mike, Yeah, everybody a pleasure to be here is basically
whatever is on your mind, and we either agree or
disagree and we take it from there.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Okay, So what's on your mind?

Speaker 9 (04:57):
Man?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
What's your take?

Speaker 9 (04:58):
Uh? You know, I gotta tell you, I was really
I really enjoyed the little fisticuffs last night.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I thought your take was gonna grown should wear belts?

Speaker 9 (05:09):
No I do. Side note. One of the most amazing
things I've ever seen in my life. Guy walking with
the tray full of food through the cafeteria in the dormitory.
Somebody sneaks up behind him, goes to pants him and
he just hits the ground.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Doesn't spill a thing off of his tray, hits.

Speaker 9 (05:28):
The ground, doesn't lose his pants, doesn't get embarrassed. That
comes the hero of the dormitory after that. For that move,
it was freaking spectacular. Getting pants could ruined someone. Okay,
let's not get off track. I'm running this take here.
Get it straight.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
You're in judge, Yeah, all right.

Speaker 9 (05:47):
So honestly, the truth is, I don't I don't think
we see enough fighting anymore. Let's let's let's hear this
fight one more time. From what happened last night between
the Angels.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
And the was airmail to the backstop. Oh oh, and
now here comes Solaire. They're gonna start to fight. They're
throwing blows. We got major differences here as they're throwing haymakers.
And now a big pile on the first base line.
Solaire was hit by a pitch in the third inning,

(06:20):
and we got a riot here in La riot in
from left field and a pile up on the first
base line.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Wow, so good.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
You can't kim an eye. That turned into a heavyweight bout.
Major difference Solaire and Lopez throwing blows at each other.

Speaker 9 (06:40):
By the best part of that fight was the fact
that Lopez never dropped the ball. We're watching it right now, Like, yeah,
he's swinging with the ball, he making he connects, and
I gotta say, that's that's actually brilliant. If you're a pitcher,
you don't want to break your hand, keep the ball
in the form of the ball.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, absolutely, you know what one of the American we're
watching the clip too as we speak. You know, there's
so many times bench is clear and weak punches a
throne and no one ever lands. He landed pretty good, right,
it's a little more exciting. Again, keep in mind, we're
I think we're all speculating based on the fact that
nobody got hurt here, right, So.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Like, yeah, as far as nobody gets.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Hurt, we don't want to. We really don't want.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Anyone to get here. I couldn't get a little bit hurt,
just not injured exactly.

Speaker 9 (07:24):
Yeah, we don't want you injured.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
That's all.

Speaker 9 (07:26):
So it was fantastic. And there is a very popular,
amazing Major League Baseball player who feels very similar about
fights in sports that I do.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I think it should happen more often.

Speaker 8 (07:41):
In baseball because I think it would eliminate guys throwing
at each other, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
So it's just like hockey, like, Hey, you want to go,
you want to go?

Speaker 9 (07:48):
Yeah, I think there should be more fights. And I
actually I'm a little upset because with the way baseball
and the way sports in general are structured now, there's
no loyalty anymore. The rivalries are falling upon Nobody really
hates each other anymore, and the hate in basketball and
baseball and sports is one of the things that makes

(08:09):
it awesome. Like the first fight I can remember seeing
live that really fired me up was when Kevin Mcca
in nineteen eighty four NBA Finals, Kevin McHale close lines
Kurt Rambis and everybody squares off kream Abdul Jabbar was
ready to throw like it was on and that, frankly,
that fired up the Celtics and they ended up winning

(08:30):
that series probably because of that fight.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Real heated rivalry, lasting memory heat a rally you're your
favorite TV show, But yeah, like when rivalries meant something,
And I think that is what made it cool to
see last night, is that there was some real animosity
there for a minute, and the players care. You want
to know that the players care side though, that was
Bryce Harper who backed you up.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah, I don't know if you said Bryce Harper.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
I didn't say saying that he believes fights in baseball
have a place, and I think a lot of people
think a good baseball fight is fun. I feel like
he keeps the game regulated.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Every team has their announcers, and usually what is a
broadcast team in baseball usually a really good play by
play guy and maybe a couple legends from that team's past. Yeah,
the old timers love to talk about how, well, back
in my day, a guy would to do that because
he would get some high inside heat.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
If a guy did.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
That, he would get this, if a guy did that,
if a guy slipped like that. Because back in the day,
the game sort of policed itself in a way exactly,
and I think part of the great fights we would
see in baseball were really just policing themselves, poleasing themselves.

Speaker 9 (09:37):
Well, I'll give you my favorite example, my very favorite
fight in the history of sports is exactly that nineteen
ninety three. Okay, a twenty six year old Robin Ventura
facing forty six year old Nolan Ryan takes exception to
Nolan Ryan plunking him with a pitch, charges the mound,

(09:58):
and Nolan Ryan just beats the crap out of it.
Nuncle Sandwich so good.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
So you're saying, that's sports fight of all time.

Speaker 9 (10:07):
Is my favorite, my favorite best sports time, and I
will fight you over.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
It, Okay, fight, all right, all right, So I'm not
fighting Mike.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Mike runs his place and he runs this take, and
what he's saying is a nice brawl every once in
a while is good for the game. And the best
ever was Ventura Nolan Ryan so memorable. Everybody could remember
maybe where they were when that happened. But we've all
seen the highlight a million times now. If you're a
fan of baseball or just a fan of a good fight,

(10:35):
that legendary Nolan Ryan Robin Ventura fight has an amazing backstory.

Speaker 9 (10:41):
I don't even know if we want to call it
a fight, more like an ass.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Yeah, but that ass whoop, it has a backstory. I
don't even know if Big Mike is your favorite fight,
I don't even know if you know the backstory. Let
me tell everyone, please, If you've watched the documentary, which
I think is a must watch, not only for baseball fans,
were all sports fans facing Nolan that's a good one.
Not only do you realize that this guy's a rancher
at heart and just sort of is great at baseball
but loves ranching more than baseball. His wife is the

(11:05):
reason he played all those years because she was the
most ultimate supportive, amazing wife. Yeah, but more of his
whole story is behind every great man, there's a great woman,
and she was there for him every step of the way.
I was also fascinated by Nolan Ryan didn't have a
pitching coach until like halfway through his career. We forget
baseball is evolved, and I thought it was interesting that fight.

(11:27):
From both perspectives, it was weird. Nolan Ryan was a
legend at that point who had learned his lesson if
someone if you hit someone and they go to charge you,
you be the aggressor. He learned early on when he
had hit a few guys that I can't I'm a
big guy, I'm ol Ryan, I need to be the aggressor.
Because he had learned the hard way, you don't want
to be the guy like running away or backing up

(11:49):
plus the guy from in a Batter's box is running
full speed at you most of the time.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Oh no, you're at a disadvantage.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
And Nolan Ryan's like, if someone ever comes to me again,
I'm going to go with them. And Robin Ventura was
a young dude, I believe, a rookie and his team said,
you know, Nolan Ryan hit someone, you got to charge
and he didn't want to. So there was a reluctance
from Robin Ventura and an aggressiveness from.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Nolan Ryan had a character too.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Nolan Ryan goes out to say, like, I never Nolan
Ryan's like, I had to do it, and Robin Ventura
has been told and said I didn't want to charge him,
but I was a young guy and I had instruction
from my team. If Nolan Ryan hits you, you charged
the mound. And it was one of the best fights ever.

Speaker 9 (12:30):
They were totally messing with him.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
He was that's yeah, you know what, that's one of
the best. Is it the best though? And what do
you feel about these brawls? And I personally think baseball
brals are the most fun because because the whole team
comes out and you know, as to what our callers said,
before about the bullpens. Yeah, if both bullpens agreed to
not do that, then it would work. But when one
bullpen clears, the other has to clear just to make

(12:55):
it an even fight.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
It's like a rumble. It's got to be even.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
It's also a tradition.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
There was a tradition rule. You can't just sit in
the bullpen and watch. And it makes me think. Mike.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
First of all, I like your take.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
You know, these fights are exciting, especially when no one's injured, right,
So they're exciting to see and it brings back rivalry
like which I think is healthy for sports competition.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
But it makes me think of.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
My personal favorite and the actual favorite, so I kind
of think you're wrong if we're talking all sports.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Ready, Michael runs his take.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
My personal favorite was nineteen ninety eight when Armando Benitez
hit Tino Martinez with a pitch, and Tino Martinez is
like such a lovable, likable guy, and if you remember,
Darryl Strawberry went on attack, Daryl cra came flying out the.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Like dude and it's Scott Broches.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Is Darrell scared for a minute because he's face to
face with Benitaz, But Benitez was a big dude. So yeah,
when you see Darryl Strawberry throwing haymakers, and I don't
know if you remember the big Australian Graham Lloyd comes
flying out of the bullpen, he was like a he
on the moment, you get these unlikely heroes. You see
which guys are wearing the nuts like you. You know

(14:07):
what what's cool about it is it brought so much
camaraderie and chemistry and it proves to everybody that we're
in this together. We got each other's back, and that
ninety eight team is arguably the greatest team in baseball history, right,
So I think there is something healthy to the building
of that, that chemistry and camaraderie. So that's my personal favorite.
But I think the all time answer that Trump's, which,

(14:31):
by the way, the Nolan Ryan went is so classic.
So it's debatable eight seven seven ninety nine, O Fox,
if we're talking all sports ismouse at the Palace two
thousand and four, because not only were the teams going
at it, but you had fans going against players.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
That was so wild.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Okay, Like to me, that was the most this mayhem
had its finest, Like what right, ron our test and
that that whole moment was so unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
It's like, wait, they were fighting the fans. That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It was at the time. That was just crazy. I
have I have mindset here some good ones. By the way,
this is our new feature, Mike who runs this take there,
there's I have four that are like majorly up for consideration.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Okay, four, you're taking them off? Five?

Speaker 2 (15:15):
No?

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Five?

Speaker 2 (15:16):
You know what I was samming this up? Yeah, let
Daniel Sam time into dude, Sam. You can't say all
four of my favorites, may I Sam?

Speaker 4 (15:25):
On my behalf pick your favorite? Yeah, give us your
number one rich.

Speaker 9 (15:29):
You can pick your number one favorite, and then you
can pick the one you think should be the.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Top of all time.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, okay, you have to say words now.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
I almost feel like I want to go to all
the feedback and get like past the conch and then
if you guys don't say it, I have like five here.
You know, I'll give you one. I'll give you one
to start because it's not so on someone's no one's
gonna pick this. But it's such a memorable highlight and
it wasn't just because I'm a Mets fan. This was
on like Warner Wolf's Plays of the Year George Michael's
Sports Machine Sports. It was one of those legendary fights

(16:02):
because it was a really badass baller and a tough
guy in Major League Baseball. The year was nineteen eighty six,
and I know this fight well because it's always on
all my eighty six Mets Year in Review videos.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Right again.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
A magical team though, a magical team who had camaraderie,
who was known as a team people love to hate
because they were good in cocky yeah, legendary Cincinnati read
Eric Davis slides into third base and jumps up and
him and Ray Knight. Remember Ray Knight, Detroit Tiger, New
York met Ray Night. They bumped chests. Eric Davis.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
By the way, Eric Davis is like a big, bad dude. Men.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Eric Davis comes up like your mother effort. Ray Knight
gets into a fighting Irish post like he's the damn
the fight didn't say put up your douke. Sat Night
scuffled up with Eric Davis because their fighting cells are
so different, Like Eric Davis is like, I'm gonna whoop

(17:04):
your ass. Ray Knight's like, yeah, she.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Have you seen this video?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It is the greatest, like I guess you would say,
juxtaposition of how two men are approaching this fight. So
Ray Night and Eric Davis might be one of my favorites.
It's worth looking up for sure. Rich is right about that.
It just looks so funny.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
And you know what, I'll give.

Speaker 9 (17:22):
A I'm old enough to remember when that happened live,
I'll give you. Make sure we're clear so you guys
can make the age jokes appropriately.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
We knew that.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Okay, I think you're gonna say your favorite fight was
back at the Polo Ground when Jack Dempsey fought her
up right. I have to say I've always this is ridiculous.
I've always taken Pedro's side when he tossed, Oh yes,
I'm with you, dude, because you know I'm with you
just because Don Zimmer was old. He has no right

(17:52):
to just and Pedro didn't punch him. He's just like
almost a head. It was stiff arm, it was diversion.
He was like him by the head and like Senta
spun him out the way, you know what it's like.
It was like Don Zimmer was a bull and he
was a bullfighter, and he was just sort of like
whoa like and they just tossed don Zimmer.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Don Zimmer was seventy two at the time.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Everyone made it seem elder abutes everyone like Don Zimmer
was one hundred and fifty years old.

Speaker 9 (18:18):
He came to Pedro and he's no, he's no wives
to me.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I thought at that, you know, I thought at that time,
I was like, why are we all because at the time.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I was like, oh, you got a lot of.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Flak for but thought I thought that Yankees Red Sox
rivalry with that exclamation point of Pedro tossing don Zimmer
was awesome.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
That was kind.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I remember he wore the the army helmet in the dugouse.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yes, Rich, I love yours. It's in the same vein
as my favorite as a kid. Nineteen ninety eight, Heat
and Nicks were a rivalry.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
I have it down.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Here was one of my chef Van Gundy the best.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah, it is like his comb over was like flapping around, dude. Honestly,
that was another great one.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
He's so good. Game four of the Eastern Conference semi finals. Grandmama,
Larry Johnson and Alonso Morning get into it in the
base on the baseline there and here comes flying in
Jeff van Gundy with all his glory and he's just
hanging for his dear life on the leg there of
alnso morning.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Honestly, he doesn't get enough enough credit for that, like
getting in the mix of that.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
That was awesome.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
That's a good one, Daddy, Danny, let me throw one
more basketball. One of you is less of a fight,
more of a little scuffle. Who did check slam on
so disrespectfully? And he got all man and through the ball?

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Dudley?

Speaker 2 (19:36):
That's a great one too.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
You got Dudley Man.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
That was his humiliation absolutely so based on Mike who
runs his take? Who when you think about the team
building side of it, right, because we feel like the
teams get closer after something like that, they just battled,
like literally battled together, literally battled.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
You know, is it necessary? Is it fun for sports?

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Because it proves that they're invested and they're really competing
at the highest and heated moment?

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Is it necessary in sports? And what is the best
of all time? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox?
Isn't a cool and wildhew? Hockey just allows it like
it's almost they accept it. And I think baseball, I'm
not saying I guess I get it. There's still men fighting.
You want to be like, yeah, break it up. That's
not a good lacrosse fighters. Baseball should almost have a
little more of a lack so hockey scot rules about it,
like you can't be the third man in on the fighter.

Speaker 9 (20:29):
You're gonna get tossed from the game. Like they set
it up so that it's fair, and these two guys
settle it one on one on the ice.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
I love it, Mike, great conversation, great topic, great take.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Danny G. Who's our callers?

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Before we get to MIDWEK Major, we have time for
two quick calls on this. Okay, let's start in Vermont
with Jack? Hey, what up?

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Jack?

Speaker 4 (20:51):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Fellas? Short time, first time, But I love that you're
talking from baseball here. Yeah, So my whole reason in
my opinion as to why we don't see too many
baseball fights anymore. You guys briefly brought up the Socks
Yankees rivalry in that Don Zimmer Pedro moment and then
the following season, Right, we remember vera Tech and a

(21:14):
Rod going at a mill Fox Network, Right, we can
say Joe Buck's name on here.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Yeah, by the way, that was two thousand and three,
two thousand and four, so yeah, that that's a long
time ago at this point.

Speaker 6 (21:23):
At this point, yeah, but it shows that there were
no ejections in that Don Zimmer Pedro Martinez moment. Remember
that started with uh, with Roger Clemens throwing near Manny's head.
And then the following season, right, we get the we
get Vera Tech and a Rod going at it, and
the only players ejected in that moment were ver Tech
and a Rod. Nowadays you see players get ejected for

(21:47):
running out onto the field and throwing punches, and it
used to just be maybe one or two guys that
initiated the fight. So now you're seeing more policing around
everybody else who's getting involved, which is why you don't
see it. We also these pictures nowadays are throwing hungos
out there, so uh, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
You know what, you may be tough, but you don't
you don't want to be so tough where you get
one hundred miles an hour heater to the to the noggin.

Speaker 9 (22:08):
Well and Dan Barry reported earlier that Lopez got the
same suspension. That's HILARI Yeah, I mean, I don't get it.
He didn't hit Celaire with the pitch. Celaire came after.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Him a bit wild. Why is he getting Why is
he getting.

Speaker 9 (22:20):
The same suspension for defending himself?

Speaker 2 (22:21):
You know, you know it's funny. Sometimes a reputation could
be ruined by a baseball fight. I just will be
honorable mentions when rufe net o'dor hit Bautista. Oh yeah,
Bautista was never the same. And when Tim Anderson got
knocked out by Ramirez, remember that, like neither like one
of those guys just clean hit like bomb damn.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Whoa, that's wow. You're right, reputations were never the same
after that.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Let's wrap up this take with Kevin and Dayton.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Hey, keV, Hey, guys, absolutely love the show.

Speaker 6 (22:50):

have you ever seen Mike Piazza when Guillermo Mota hit them? Honestly,
it's not coming to mind. I want you to watch

times madder than when remember when comings through the bat
at him? Or oh yeah yeah, watch Piazza Giermo Mota.
That's definitely a top ten. All right, sounds good. We

Speaker 2 (26:21):
We definitely major.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
See it our scoring mid Week Major.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Oh yeah, I gotta go quick here to give Iowa
Sam a complete seven minutes for the segment. Let's roll
the two big red love dice over there.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
See who goes.

Speaker 9 (26:36):
Up to.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
Eight eight?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
All right, are now a ritual? This is for first take.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Two?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
You in all right, Ah, Covino goes first, and now,
ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides actor Hill
Harper from Iowa City, Iowa, Iowa.

Speaker 11 (26:53):
Sam, I don't even know who that is, Hey, Sammy, Hi, guys, guy,
And that's fine, Sam. I don't know if any think
a top last week's mid week major and we had
Frank Caliendo and we had like everybody involved in the
stories was represented by impressions from Frank.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
So that was great. But we move on to a
new week of stories.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Let's see.

Speaker 11 (27:12):
They're the photos that have set the NFL media blaze
the last twenty four hours. Everyone's gossiping about this. The
publication page six posts and some photos of Patriots head
coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Diana Rossini. They're spotted
together in these photos at a rooftop pool at an
Arizona hotel. They're embracing, they're hugging, and one photo they're
laying out next to each other pool side. Now, both

(27:34):
sides have said this was much ado about nothing. The
photos are maybe taken out of context what they said.
Rassini's employer, the Athletic, came out and defended her and
her integrity. And both are married, by the way, But
these saucy photos of Rassini and Vrabel Midweek or Major.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
You know, I'm going major, major, because this story's all
over the place, and it goes to show us that
we just love drama, we love gossip, we love juicy,
salacious stories. Now, first off, we gotta say Diana Russini,
she's a real one man. She knows her stuff. She's
cool as hell and rich. And I know from experience
they're saying they're innocent. I believe them.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Here's why.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
I've been in many situations where some girl like can
we take a picture, and they'll jump in for a picture,
and that picture paints such an inaccurate moment, right, and
that has caused fights in our life and our relationships.
And it's like, yo, we were with those girls for
two seconds, but then they post them all over social media.
It looks like we were hanging out all night, Like, hey,
I swear to you, I swear my life. We met

(28:32):
these people, we took a picture, and all of a sudden,
it looks like we're hanging and we're best friends. That's
not the story. These these pictures, taken out of context,
could really paint a false narrative. I'm saying it's major
because the reminder to you know, don't let it happen
to you. I think it's major as well's embarrassing. I
believe them because I think female friends. I have high

(28:53):
school friends like Monsi Milano, so our friend Janelle who
he worked at the ESPN. If you have female coworkers
and Diana A. Seni works very closely with gms and
coaches and personnel. Like you're telling me that you want
to put your arm around like we see Manzi. Hey, Manzi,
give her a hug like you want to. You would
never like put your arm around a female friend or

(29:13):
someone you especially work bad. Is it embarrassing you're sat
in a hot tub with someone all of those things.
But again, when taken out of context, of course people
are going to speculate. I think it's uh. I think
it's nonsense. I feel bad for them, to be honest, Well,
I'm saying yeah, So that's why I say it's major.
I mean, I think I think it. I think there's
a lot of jealous spouses out there that can't understand
that normal people don't get jealous when they're significant. Other're like,

(29:36):
I don't know, like Greet's a friend, or like sits
in at You never said a hot tub.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Most of our spouses would not be okay with us.
Whold your spouse wanted no laying Let me finish rich
laying down next to somebody jealous? You said, I've never
said that on the air before you.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Alluded to it. I will say that, really it does.
It does look most I.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Would say ninety nine percent of females rich would feel
that way.

Speaker 9 (30:00):
Read.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I actually agree with Danny g based on how it looks.
Based on how it looks, but it doesn't mean that's
what was going.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
On, right.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
So that's how I actually agree that a lot of
people would be upset. I would I might be upset
if I was on the flip side of the story.
But it doesn't mean that an accurate story was told there,
because again, this, this quick picture doesn't tell the whole
the whole story. No, next that was at me all.

Speaker 11 (30:24):
By the way, Monty's out here wondering, Bonci's out wandering ground.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
She's like she just basically mouthed me, did they just
say my name? They bring me up?

Speaker 4 (30:32):
I don't know where she is.

Speaker 11 (30:33):
She's wandering around, but she's like, yeah, if she's understood
the further, there she is. Now she's bunting into dance studio.
Don't worry, Manzi, this is such it's such a good topic. Sam,
It's fine if it takes over. Here's plugging in.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
I've only spoken.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Manzi's na give you all the other quick story about Quickick.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
All right, so.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Guys, this was Monday night.

Speaker 11 (30:51):
Orlando Magic had just gotten to win over the Detroit
Pistons one twenty three, one oh seven. Desmond Bane, great
guard for the Orlando Magic. He had twenty five points.
He's to his postgame interview and all of a sudden,
who doesn't love a good photobomb or what.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Do you call it? Yeah, photobomb? Yeah, all of a sudden,
is it? Uh?

Speaker 11 (31:09):
Is it a Howie Mandel who's been on all kinds
of game shows. He's been around forever, Howie Mandel, All
of a sudden, photobomb's Desmond Bane.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
It doesn't know who it is.

Speaker 11 (31:19):
And Desmond Bain is like, hey man, but yeah, it
gives him a look like, I don't know if I
recognize you with the sunglasses on the hat. Should Desmond
Bane know Howie Mandel is? Midweek er major?

Speaker 2 (31:29):
This is a mid story, but I find it interesting.
It's on the higher end of the mid Desmond Bin's a
twenty seven year old dude in the NBA. He's living
a different world, So I'm not surprised that he doesn't
know who Howie Mandel is. You probably never watched America's
Got Talent. He's too old? Who's too young for Bobby's world?
Or a deal or no deal or any of these shit. Yeah,
Howie Mandel, I think, HOLLI dell. It's not as bad.

(31:51):
It's not impossibly not as bad as when Bruce Pearl
didn't know who Eminem was.

Speaker 11 (31:54):
It's not yeah, I was gonna say that, it doesn't
rise that level. That's when that one's a mind blowing.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
So it's it's mid. I'm surprised that he doesn't know,
but I'm maybe.

Speaker 11 (32:01):
He's just like in this article, he's like maybe he's
caught up in the moment. He's trying to do an
interview and he's just like, hey, I kind of recognize you.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Let me give you exhibit A. Let's go back to
the Dana Rossini Rabel story. Could we get a white shot?
Spot mancis here? Hi, Mansi. We're friends and coworkers, right.
Would it be peculiar if we were on a work
trip at a hotel and I did this?

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Mons, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Oh my god, we're gonna get dinner later and hold
your hands? Would that be weird? Holding hands? Everybody come
to the mike.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
All right, I'll reenact this for fun. Let's just say
I'm making this up right, Yo, MONSI, I heard you
got a promotion.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
They're embracing, they're hugging.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
What if I was like, good for you.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
I'm saying, we don't know the con I think that
we're taking a photo of them the pool. You wouldn't
lay by the pool with the woman other than your wife.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Just but they look like they're on a date.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
That's the optics the context.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
It doesn't mean right, yeah, both right. I'm not saying yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
I'm not saying there's more to it. I'm just saying
the way it looks.

Speaker 11 (33:12):
You guys, remember in Black Sheep, where that uh that
photo journalist.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Thanks for.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
You to do any thoughts on's got updates and no,
she's got prepper.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
She was a prop. Yesterday there were Starbucks drinks as
the props. She's a prop.

Speaker 11 (33:28):
Do you guys remember though in Black Sheep, where Chris
Farley is telling those teenagers not to drink.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
It's like smoke and drinking.

Speaker 11 (33:35):
And then that the pop razzi guys like taking photos
of him and using them against them.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
That's is basically and that and.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
That's why I think the story is very major because
the reminder of you know, these pictures tell something that
that I don't know it.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
You just gotta be careful.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
You don't really it just remind.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
You that and more respectful to your your significant other.
One is what it is. It's a these things in mind.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
The more popular you are, you realize that people will
try to find dirt on you. So what if we
just got Monti in trouble. Now her boyfriend's gonna see
us hold it on, It's gonna be like hold your
head yet, someone just took a still shot you. You
got time for one more? Or now let's go to
dB okay. What's the story you can tell? Maybe we'll
finish with it after dB okay let's let's go to dB.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
All right, what's up? Dan Byer? All right, guys.

Speaker 7 (34:16):

To you, right, Dan, you know in the feedback it's hilarious.
But one person who pointed out, are we not going
to call it the creepo? That's like hiding in the
bushes taking a picture of Mike Rabel and Danna receiving?
Like what that guy's okay, that's the game they play, man, Okay, Well,
so I feel bad for Mike and Diana. That's also
feel bad for their significant others because, like I said,

pop or something. You're there, all new and you need

teenage daughter who is like, Dad, give me money.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
I know now.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Tomorrow we go old school in fifty hits, We reminisce,
we throw it back on a Thursday and we do
some old school show and tell. So definitely check out
the YouTube page. You yes, yes, yes, Rich, what are
the odds right now saying about you forgetting plus four
fifty that I bring something into it, But Daddy, I
think as soon as I go home, I'm immediately gonna

(39:08):
put something in my car. Well, but I might forget
between that when I get home. If you can guess
what we bring in before the reveal, you qualify for
a prize as at coven own rich FSR on YouTube.
So we said we had final thoughts on this controversial
story because everybody seems to have a different view on it.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
You need to keep in mind.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Rich is like a social butterfly, and he gets away
with the hell of a lot more.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
And that's just the truth. That's just the truth.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
But and you also are way like friendlier with female colleagues.
And I'm not saying people shouldn't be, but I think
there's different rules for everybody, and that's unfortunate. I do
think two things can be true. Does it look bad?
And is it embarrassing? And do I feel bad for
everybody involved? Meaning the spouse is too, Yes?

Speaker 4 (39:51):
I do.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Does it mean that Shenanigans were at place?

Speaker 2 (39:55):
No? That's why I agree with you one hundred percent.
I think that two things can be true. Embarrassing, feel
bad for the spouse, is it's not a good look.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
But it doesn't mean that they were doing anything.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
But to me, any picture I've scene of Dana Orsini
and Mike raybol Is could be very much like two
friends paling around that you know, bumped into each other
or with the same group of people on a but.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
At the same time, would you like it if that
was your wife?

Speaker 2 (40:22):
But I don't. I wouldn't mind because I trust her
and you know the context. Like for instance, I just
went to the Dominican Republic with a few other couples
old school friends. There were times where I went with
one of my friend's spouses and sat in a hot
tub because not everyone wanted to go. Or you greet someone,
hug them, hold their hands, Hey, what's going on? They
weren't holding hands walking down a boardwalk. It was almost

(40:43):
like two to hold someone's two hands in front of them.
It could be a joking excitement thing. It could be
an embrace. You don't know, I can their hands. You
don't wash your hands, bro, you got Doodoo Hans Docca hands. Well, Hey,
enjoy the rest of you.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
What is it Wednesday?

Speaker 9 (40:57):
A ready your.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Thoughts by the way at Covino and Rich at Fox
Sports Radio, I like to believe that it was just
a moment.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
We don't. The truth is we don't. Nobody knows. I
don't know what he knows.

Speaker 9 (41:09):
They know.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Unfortunately it's a big story because people love stuff like this. Yeah,
no dignity, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
And but you know what, it is a reminder Rich
that there's creep boss.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
It could tell.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
It could always tell a different story, and you got
to be on your best behavior at all times, even
if if you mean nothing by it. It does remind
me of a story Covino and I he was alluding
to before we went to like a Super Bowl Maximum
Rolling Stone party, one of those big events, right, and
there was like these promotional model girls by the entrance
and we just took a picture and they were like, hey, wait,
we know you guys, and they're like, let's take a picture.

(41:41):
And the girl when they took a picture like wrapped
her arms all around. Covino and myself posted this picture.
We never saw those girls in our life for more
than ten seconds. And I remember Covino's ex girlfriend's like,
who were today? It really it looked like we might
have been hanging out all night day, you know, and
it's like, oh, man, it's just just a flash.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Moment like that.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
So the point you're saying is be careful. Just be careful,
you know, out of respect for your significant That's it. Well,
