Not a pit Bull cruise Lamont.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Roach fight ends in a draw sort of weekend, not
a Henry Shudo got his ass kicks sort of weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
What's the worst draw or tie? Isn't an NFL game?
Is it a fight? Oh, that's a good one. Is
it probably nflick?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Because of how short the season is, you're like a
tie or like anytime you.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Play with your little kid and you're like you have
to die. You guys both win. It always sucks.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
But you know what, Yeah, people complain about judges scoring
and boxing and there's always claim of robberies and man, well,
first of all, that's why you don't leave it in
the judge's hands. Right, train harder, go for the knockout,
make it convincing. But I think they actually got it right.
I think Pitbull Cruise and Lamont Roach was a draw.
Cruz had the first half of the fight, Roach had

(02:27):
the second half. Look, we'll talk about it, we'll get
into it. Why waste any time? Io Samuel hit us
up with things that make you.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Go hmmm, things that make you go, things that make
your goal. Now.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Reminder, if you miss any of today's show, catch the
podcast Coveno and Rich wherever you stream and rate it
five stars. And again you could watch it on YouTube.
You can watch it later on Covino and Rich FSR.
But we do this every Monday. Any observations that you
made and week fourteen did not disappoint Rich. We continue tonight,
but alone with all the football, I did watch the
fights and UFC three twenty three was pretty bloody. I

(03:05):
mentioned Henry Sujudo got his ass beat. He announced his retirement.
We're going to talk more about that later.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
He say, what are you leading with a fight that
no one cared about? There was like five NFL games
that have major implications, one of which eliminated our Kansas
City Chiefs. I wasn't necessarily leading with it. I was
just making reference to it. We'll talk about that one
that watched that. To me, thanks for reprimanding me on
national radio. But yeah, Week fourteen, I think a lot

(03:31):
of people watched the fight rich. It didn't interfere with
football at all. In fact, it was Saturday night and
it was a great boxing match. But yeah, we'll get
to that later. People doing holiday stuff, absolutely right. So
things that made you go hmmm is not just the NFL.
But let's break it down, let's talk about it. I
want to talk about how your team, the forty nine ers,
benefit from Daniel Jones being out.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I do.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
That's something we're going to get to for sure. But
I think Kansas City the big story, would you agree?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Is that.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I think of all the upsets and big wins, the
Chiefs losing is the biggest story of the weekend. Their
loss is bigger than any win that happened because they
were a dynasty for the past ten years or in
the playoffs for the past decade.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
And the thing is it.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Wasn't an upset as much as just you've had this
feeling like you always make the reference when Tyson was
losing to James Buster Douglas. He kept thinking like, oh,
they're doing talking boxing, we're talking football. He'll turn it around,
and you know he never did, and Buster Douglas upset him.
I think all season were like, all right, the Chiefs are,
you know, they'll they'll figure it out, and here we

(04:32):
are and they are not going to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
They're six and seven.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
It's over. I'm sorry, what are they? Six seven?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Sorry? Got it?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Because it's so slowly gone by now. Visit there out
here on the West coast?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
In and out? Didn't they debut the new six seven special?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
They skip No in and out has now skipped number
sixty six to number sixty eight.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
They actually emanated, oh they I read the headline quick.
I thought they were leaning into it.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
They're like, we don't want anything to do with this
because of Hooligan's causing rutcus anytime someone yells out, all right,
order for number sixty seven.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
So the Chiefs are six and seven.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
And I actually agree with rich On that their loss
is bigger than any other story this weekend because of
what they meant to the NFL for the past decade.
I would that they're most likely not going to be
in the playoffs and the Texans defense.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
It was what a battle defense? I know, what a game.
I know you say most likely and you're absolutely right, but.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I'm saying percentage wise no, I know, but I just
can't see a path for them to win. I know
it's like percentage wise, yes, of course there's a chance,
but you know, dude, that was that was it.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
I don't care.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
I guess Travis Kelsey didn't have Taylor Swift and Selena
Gomes cheering hard enough.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I just asked, you know, what made the Chiefs magic
is the It was the things that went their way, right,
those magical moments, you know in these dropped passes that
normally went Mahomes's way and that she his way just
aren't happening this year. Everything that they tried to do
just didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Just any work.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Travis Lusta's temper through his helmet and someone was going
to give it back to him, and Andy Reid's like, no, like,
don't give it back to him. You'll do chief, you know,
I mean, the Chiefs weren't chief in and the Texans
have slowly gotten better as the season has gone on.
Their defense has stepped up. It was a masterful game
of defense to watch a lot of battle in a
great battle, and the Texans win twenty to ten. So

(06:27):
it's just a matter of the Texans getting better and
the Chiefs not getting better the entire season. So there's
six to seven most likely out. Texans now eight and five.
But that was a fun ass game to watch. But
I think their loss and a sad Mahomes but an
accountable Yeah, but an accountable Mames, you know, because everything
he said in the press conference was dead on. He's

(06:48):
always well thought out and well spoken and realistic about
the outcome. We gotta be realistic that they have the
same record as the Miami Dolphins. So let's not make
it seem like the Chiefs are this team that's like
fighting there.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Look at the Dolph. It's one four in a row.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
What I'm saying is, Mike, you know, Mike McDaniel may
have saved his job, who knows.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But what I'm saying, the ship's passing in the Yeah,
you can't.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
You can't look at the Chiefs like, oh, maybe they're
as good as the Dolphins, and they're as good as
the Ravens, who look like ass a team would really
have to collapse for the Chiefs to find a way in.
Right now, the seventh seed is the eight and five Texans,
and right on their heels is the eight and five Colts.
I just think that where it's over, it's over for

(07:30):
the Chiefs, the own man, there's no real way.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
And also added to all this, which makes it more difficult,
they lose a tiebreaker if the Jaguars were to falter,
they lose the tiebreaker to the Texans because of the
head on loss. They lose a tie breaker to the
Bills because they lost to the Bills. If it ever
came down to that, and you got another game with
the Chargers coming up, but the Chargers already beat you
earlier on in the season, so you don't when that game,

(07:54):
you're not even winning any tie breakers against any of
these teams that you may be tied with because you
lost to all of them.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
You know what's I'll Dan Bayer and that's fantastic. Inside.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
What's wild is when we were kids, there was one year,
like the Niners didn't make the playoffs, and I remember
with Tom Brady there was the year he was hurt,
Matt Castle took over. There was one year the Patriots
didn't make it. Is this that one year or could
we be seeing the beginning of a non think it's
the biggest stories.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
It's the sad ending of a dynasty, of a sweet run.
That's how I feel anyway.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
And to even go.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
On top of that, I think I have more appreciation
for what the Chiefs did after they lost to the
Buccaneers and they made it all the way to the
AFC Championship Game. The next year lost to the Bengals
when Cincinnati ended up going, but that was the dip,
but the Chiefs made it that far that year, Like
I have appreciation for that run now seeing what is
happening this year, because it is difficult to lose a

(08:47):
Super Bowl and bounce back with the same sort of emotion,
especially if you're Kansas City and won two Super Bowls
previous to that.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
This is just bound to happen at some point. Last
year we're talking about three peete and now we're talking like,
yeah over not even in the playoffs. And it adds
to that feeling rich is the fact that you're seeing
Kelsey probably looking toward retirement, which again we'll talk about
later on.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
The playoffs were symbolically were Rashi Rice and that hit, dude,
I haven't seen a hit like that since running Lot.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
That was a legal hit. I'm glad there was no flag,
But what was the less of you saw?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
That was a violent What was the less of you
saw a hit of that magnitude in the NFL without
a flag.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
He had like a slight convulsion at the end of that.
He saw his feet.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
I don't think it was concussion. I think it was
more like shivers up his fine like, I don't know
what it was.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
It was very dramatic though maybe he added some theatrics
to that hit. I'm not sure, but that was that
was a pop for sure. If you watched the game,
you know what we're talking about. That made me go
because you're right, Rich, I'm surprised they didn't give him
a minute. But the Chiefs, I think the dynasties over
at least for now. I don't think they come back

(10:01):
in the next few years. I know, I feel like
they have to start all over the year.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I'm saying mahomes so, but I'm saying you think mahomes
and I'm not saying you're saying this. Let me just
pose the question, are you saying that Patrick Mahomes is
now the quarterback of a team that will miss the
playoffs for a few years in a row, because that
seems weird. Mahomes is going to be a QB of
a five hundred or sub team for.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Any said, it's not easy to get back.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
So even if they do get some great additions, could
it be the were tight.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
End, Like you still got to build some chemistry. There's
going to be some some growing pains. Could we were
spoiled Kavino in that, Like I said, some of the
other legends I mentioned never really had losing seasons. While
they didn't win the Super Bowl, they never really had
losing seasons. Like once Indianapolis got going, did Peyton Manning
have a losing season? Did Tom Brady have a losing season?

(10:54):
Did Joe Montana have a losing season? None of these
guys that earned that conversation. Aaron Rodgers until he moved
on from Green Bay, did he have a losing season?
You know what I'm saying, Like we're talking about we're
talking about like I could look at Drew Brees. Maybe
there's a year where they went eight to nine or something,
but most most quarterbacks of that magnitude somehow find a

(11:16):
way to get into the playoffs even with a mediocre team.
And if we're saying that this is over and you
got the Chargers and Denver, who's eleven and two, if
their division's good, it would be awfully strange to see
Mahomes go through a couple of years where it's like, oh, wow,
the Chiefs are like pedestrians.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Well, it's awfully strange to see the fact that both
the Chiefs and the Ravens might be asked it's a
different NFL. They're both six and seven, and you know,
it's interesting to see how quickly that shifted. Right, we're
living in the upside down Stranger Things style where the
teams that were good just last year and the year before,

(11:52):
and the teams that were so used to seeing being
the dominant teams in the NFL are no longer. And
that's the parody and the beauty of the NFL. Can
give me what are your observations? Eight seven, seven ninety nine,
one fox, let's go, can't give you a very unsexy
things that made you go? Sure, hit me up with
the little things making know who I'm sam oh, I

(12:14):
gotta spice this one up because it's not that exciting.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
It's two teams that aren't again, very sexy. But the
Bucks lost a game that may come back to bite them.
They lose to the Saints, and Caroline is hanging around
and they play each other two times in the final
four weeks. The Panthers Bucks have not played this year.
They're both seven and six, but they play each other
two times in the final four And I think that

(12:38):
is a very interesting thing because either Baker buckles up
and he's like, all right, let's stop the silliness. We're
gonna do this, or this is the opportunity for Carolina
to say, all right, we're not there yet, but we're
there enough to win this division.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Tampa is not good right now.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
They are in a bad spot and they lost three
coming out of the by And I know this because
my survivver pool hopes. I went with the Buccaneers yesterday
and they ended like many the circa the Big Circle
one in Las Vegas. Buccaneers were the most popular pick
this past week because you thought, with the Saints coming
to town, but they're in a bad spot. They played

(13:16):
like a team that wasn't the favorite in the game. Guys,
they had seven. They were two of seven on fourth
down yesterday. Now there was the end of the game.
They didn't get it where they had to go on
fourth down. There were there was a folly of errors.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yees seem like like in the Kansas City game, they
were the Baker. Guys were dropping past his interceptions. The
defense could have turned around the game. They bobbled what
could have been interceptions.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yes, Chris Godwin had a first down on fourth and
three and was hit and they jarred the ball loose
and was it just It's that's what happens to bad teams.
And you're absolutely right, Like, Tampa is in a bad
spot right now. The good news is they have the
Falcons on a short week in Atlanta. Maybe in a
worse spot. But to think that the Buccaneers could do
any damage, I mean, their defense is not what it
once was. And yeah, the ain'ts Saints had a couple

(14:02):
of great plays on third down to convert it.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yeah, Tampa is. Tampa's in a bad spot right now.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
They've been playing bad for the past four games, like
Dan said, one wing one game losing streak.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Though they won last week, but barely barely. Yeah, like
a red zone target.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Even if they were to make the playoffs, like, they're
not it. You know, they're not the No.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Like, I know it's anyone's season and we've been saying
that all year, but I think it's safe to say
at this point, like even if a team like that
were to sneak in rich like, they're not the team.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
There's no way. Trust me, You're not that guy. They're
not that guy. They're not that guy.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Even though I like that team and I root for Mayfield,
like they're not that good. There's so many observations from
the NFL and we haven't even talked about college football
and Notre Dame being out and yo, I want to
talk about Fernando Mendoz at this kid's excitement level. But
dB I saw because it was not a game that
was on my radar because I thought you is gonna

(15:00):
whoop him six to six at half time. I'm like,
did the Seahawks just not show up in the first
half and then they outscore the Falcons thirty one to
three in the second half?

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Yeah, or she'd she he took the second half opening kickoff,
opening kickoff of the second half back for a score.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
I think it's just early start, you know, across the country,
one o'clock Eastern time.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Start.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Let's get our feet under us. And I honestly think
that was a part of it. Jas N turned it
on in the second half, couple of touchdowns. Yeah, it
took him a half to get going, but had a
key turnover Bejon Robinson fumbled it in the red zone,
which holded any Falcons momentum of them in the game.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
I remember being like six to sixes, could they steal
a game from Dan's mighty Seahawks, And then very quickly,
every time I looked another touch that was added Hawks
ten and three. Now THOUGHQUI at ten and three, I thought,
you know, it could be the most important game of
the year.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Week from Thursday.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Well, yes, but also the final wrong, the final game.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Of the year.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
The final game of the year is Dan byer Seahawks
and my forty nine ers and Dan.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
If your Seahawks beat the.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Rams, which is the game you're insinuita, Yes, if you
beat the Rams and the Niners beat Tampa Tampa Titans,
Titans and the Colts and teams that now look the
cult without Daniel Jones, there's a chance that Week eighteen,
Niner Seahawks could be for the one seed.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Is that crazy? Yes?

Speaker 4 (16:30):
And it makes it crazy that a team like Tampa
or Carolina would get a first round home game. Yeah,
Like I mean, it's just it's so absurd that that
is the case, and it could be better than any
of the other teams in the NFC.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
So that and it's happened before with our teams where
the loser, the winner was the one seed loser was.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
A wildcare Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
So hey, Rich, you know made me saying that's going
to be very interesting. And you know, Daniel Jones, you
hate to see that guy go down, no doubt. But
it seems like now that team free falling to begin with,
and now Indianapolis has to play, They have to play
the Seahawks and the Niners back to back. I just
feel like that's a punishment for a team that doesn't
even have a QB one right now.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Who's their quarterback?

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Yeah, roll Ridley Leonard, the backup has got a knee
in ja and they don't know if he's going to
be able to go, So.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
I think they'd call Vinie Testaverdi bring him out. Ry Fitzpator,
Philip Rivers was the name that was Doug Gottlie brought
up earlier. My goodness.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Jokingly, I think there's certain teams. I think what we're
getting at is there's certain teams now that we just
don't want to give that credit to that completely deserve
the credit. For whatever reason, they're not sexier, don't sound sexier,
or we're not used to seeing them be dominant because
we're so used to a Ravens Chief sort of league,
dance Seahawks one of those teams. The Jaguars one of

(17:49):
those teams. And I think that's what we're getting at
right now. Daniel Jones is out, that benefits Rich's forty
nine ers. Probably Jaguars win nine and four now they
went thirty six nineteen, and I was getting that Joe
Burrow because I think the Bills are a big story here.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Josh Allen had a game.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
But what do you think about a lot of times
when you see a quarterback talk about their team, the
answers are always look at Dak Prescott's sort of thing
of like, we got the team, we're angry, we got
a chip on our shoulder, we'll be better.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
We'll get him next week.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Joe Burrow's attitude is an attitude of honesty and you know,
mixed with swag. I guess what are your thoughts, Rich,
because it makes me say hm when I hear Joe
Burrow fall short against the Bills thirty nine, thirty four
and he looks at the record and he's like, that's
just not good.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
We're just not good. Do you like that honesty? I do?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I do, and I don't like the I respect the
positive outlook, but I also respect seeing that Joe Burrow
expects a lot more from the team he's playing.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
For, but himself. I mean, listen, Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
You watch the Bengals cuffway their season on back to
back interceptions late in the game in the snow that
one we just highlight.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
I was rolling on one.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Of the TV's a goal, but he was like, four
to nine, it is not you know, we're not good,
A little tip of a pick six, Like it's yeah, listen,
it is what it is.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
I know.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
DBU had that game circled as a ooh interesting, and
it was until that until it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
They had a ten point lead in the fourth quarter,
Like midway through the fourth quarter, Josh Allen rips off
that run for forty yards, his longest career touchdown run
and then as you mentioned, the back to back interceptions,
and it was just yeah, they I mean, they scored
a touch they scored a touchdown late to make it
closer than what it ended up being for as much
as the Bills had that whirlwind of success.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
So a fun game to watch, especially the snow game.
But the Bills look like they're on track right now.
So over the Bengals, that made me say hmmm, because
I don't know. I thought Joe Burrow was going to
pull that one out. We got to talk Packers Bears.
We have a lot to get to, but I also
want to get to your phone calls. At eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Any Observation. Rich mentioned Fernando

Speaker 1 (21:47):
What up Henry Gomez? Roger Pascal?

Speaker 6 (21:49):
What up?

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Roger Pascal? What up? Roger? You'll get this one of
our listeners, Rich Roger bowl the three hundred on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
That's pretty awesome. And we met him at our convention
in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
But Roger listening, Yeah, congrats on your three hundred, man,
that's pretty cool. And everybody on the live chat now
as we speak Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube if
you want to chop it up and watch what we
are talking about.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Covino and Rich FSR and we are talking.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
About week fourteen and anything that went down this past weekend.
It made you go hmm eight seven seven ninety nine O.
Fox Chris says, let's go Texans. They're his I guess
you wouldn't even say dark horse to go all the way.
They're looking good. Wes hit us up in Vegas saying

(22:38):
the Seahawks spotted them at half and then just destroyed
him in the second.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
I saw that as well.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I was is that a matter of like making adjustments
at halftime or they just stepped it into high gear?

Speaker 1 (22:50):
That's you know.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
That that team again, like you said, it's just not
that's just not a sexy team. That's it's just we're
not accustomed to say and that these teams are dominant,
but we're seeing a like a role reversal, a stranger
things upside down sort of situation because it's a new NFL,
it's a new year, and we're seeing some of these

(23:12):
other teams emerge as the dominant teams. But again, you
still got the Bills in the mix, who look good
this weekend. Well, let me ask you, did the Steelers
and the team the Steelers win, shut people up?

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Or what Metcalf had a game? However, that is is
likely catch that was a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I don't care what anyone says that Isaiah likely catch
was a tuddy. It was you looked at that the
eye testing and tell you that that there was a
catch and then it just got knocked out once the
catch was was made.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
But Steelers are tops of the AFC North and man,
I wouldn't have guessed that, So props to that, you know,
when you're just subjective, even if it goes against your team.
I would imagine even Steeler fans like, yeah, that was
a catch, right, I mean Dan Byer. Do you know
anyone that was saying no, that was not a coach
that likely that likely catch was a catch?

Speaker 4 (23:59):
Yeah, there have been a few, you know, Steeler fans.
It reminds me of when the Seahawks caught the fail
Mary against the Packers when they had the replacement refs.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it totally.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Was an interception, you know, like it never should have
been a Seahawks touchdown. Like you understand you laugh and
like Seahawks fans can laugh at I'm sure Steelers fans
will laugh at this.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
But you have to say they also had the one
where Rogers had the.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Ball deflected and it was still up in the air
and he was down on the ground, and they reversed
it and said that he had possession and was down
and it wasn't the Ravens call. So that adds on
to the likely missed call that they called it a
touchdown on the field, but replay reverse.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Usually it's the opposite. It's like, you go, you need
a lot of evidence.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
I don't. That was a wild one.

Speaker 7 (24:42):
So when you watch that in real time, it did
not look like catch. When you watch it in slow motion,
I thought it looked like a catch because he firmly
had it, he had got a couple of feet down.
But then when you watch it in real time, you're like,
it didn't have it long enough. Dude, Pretty wild, bro,
pretty wild question.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
But you know what, Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
There were times there was a few passes Aaron Rodgers
made in that game where he looked like the Aaron
Rodgers of old.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Like yeah, like look good.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
There was there was one particular still got something, one
particular play where he where he at metcalf and he
was moving around the pocket, dipping and weaving and then
he does spin it. But you know what, can he
spin it like Jordan loves spinning it?

Speaker 8 (25:20):
Bro?

Speaker 1 (25:21):
I don't know, man, I thought Aaron Rodgers shut some
people up. He did, he did. I thought that bears
Packers game. I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Let's run it back in a couple of weeks. I
thought that was fantastic. That was a really fun game.
I think Tom Brady's getting better in the booth. I
like his leather jacket. You know, it went kind of
viral over the weekend if you saw it. But him
and Burkhart are old pal. We did TV with Burkehrt
in New York and it's crazy to see his career
just take off. For so.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
I love keV. He's got that swag about him. He
is a superstar.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
But they're in the booth and he mentions that it's
chili there and Brady pauses.

Speaker 9 (25:55):
Like, chili, this is freezing here. You can see our
breath in the book. They could see their breath in
the booth, and that's gone viral. So yeah, props him
because he's feeling more natural and less robotic.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
And look, man, he does things at a high level.
He takes it serious. There's no doubt that he was
going to get better as time went on. Much like
the Texans, there's a lot of teams just getting better
and better every week.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
I have a question.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
It's not NFL related, but it's football related, Dan mentioned,
you know, Ohio State losing over the weekend Indiana wins.
You mentioned Fernando Mendoza. Did that clip go viral because
it's beautifully endearing when he talks about their victory? Or
people just mocking this dude because he's kind of goofy
and corny.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I think we're both. I think it's more endearing. Okay,
I agree, Yeah, I think so too.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
But when you read the comments, there's a lot of
people taking shots at them, and I'm like, oh, okay,
now I'm confused, but I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
I thought like, what a nice kid. How can you
all love a kid with this excitement?

Speaker 6 (26:54):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Congratulations Indiana the Big ten champs. How does that sound?
It sounds so beautiful.

Speaker 7 (27:01):
I want to give all the glory to God. We're
never supposed to be in this decision, but the glory
of God, the great coach is great team.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
I'm around school. We were able to pull this off.
Whoever thought who would be here? But are flipping champs?

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Let's go?

Speaker 2 (27:17):
And he he's a young kid of faith. And can
you know when I were saying that. On a side note,
I grew up in New York. We live in Los Angeles.
Now we forget the middle of the country. All these
young dudes are very religious. It's hard to have you
did you notice that that uh so many young kids.
I mean we're talking about the middle of the country.
We think it's a very different world in major cities.

(27:38):
You said it, Buster.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Brown, you know agree, right, Yeah, the world doesn't evolve
around these freaks out here in Los Angeles and New York.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Where we grew up. I hear you.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
It was it was nice to see this thanking God.
If that was me, I think Mike who runs this place?

Speaker 1 (27:49):
First? And then God?

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Of course that you gotta you know, you know, Mike
runs his place, then go Mike who runs his place?
It was if you want an award, you wouldn't thank God.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
It was. It was. It was excitement, dude. And no,
just just a little background.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Mendoza is spent not even a year at Indiana, so
he was at cal previously. He's from Miami, so he's
been all around the United States, but been.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Around the world.

Speaker 7 (28:16):
And I the kind of the funny thing about that
clip is like he would turn his head and look
directly at the camera like every five seconds, like so
he'd like he'd kind of break the fourth wall.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I almost felt like they will do something with this
on SNL or something only. But yeah, he was so
camera like. He's he was the opposite of a dud,
but his camera awareness like he was a camera one.
Let me stare at it, get a little extra clothes something.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
Yeah, he was hyped up and it kind of reminded
me that Willem Defoe Gift, where he's like does the
crazy smile, then turns the camera and like consumes in him.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
He's like rich in your speculation, do it thanking God.
He's he's a Cuban heritage as Cuban background. So I'm
not surprised that I wasn't criticizing. I was just saying,
you see a lot of these young kids, especially that
play for you know, colleges in the middle of the country, a.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Lot of faith out there, a lot of religion out.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
They look, when things go bad, you turn to somebody.
So when things are going good, you know, be sure
to be thankful. And it was, and I thought it
was really nice to see.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
It was really interesting because, like Dan Bayer said, it's
the Big ten.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
But I'm telling you, there's a part of me that
thinks it's gone viral, not only because it was sweet
and endearing and authentic, and I did love it, right.
That was his pure excitement right there. But people do think, like, man,
this guy's a cornball or something and that's a cardival
that's going to be the Heisman Trophy winner. And he
won the Big Ten Championship. However, as Dan Bayer said,
it's not the national championship. Slow down, right, dB, Yes,

(29:46):
it's it's not.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I loving his voice crackstand in the beginning.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
At the end, the Big Ten chimps. How does that sound?
It sounds so beautiful.

Speaker 7 (29:57):
I want to give all the glory to God. Would
be the position, but glory golf, the great coaches, great team.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I'm around those school we were able to pull this off.
Whoever thought would be here but the hos or flipping champs.

Speaker 7 (30:12):
It's mind blowing though, because they showed you how many
losses Indiana has in their history and they've never ever
been in this position except for last year. So it's
like this, you're in this two year spurt of like
we're living in the twilight zone. The Indiana football is
twelve thirteen and o now and the number one seed
in the bracket. It's nuts, very extremely ra They hadn't
beaten Ohio State since the late eighties.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Again, and I'm not just trying to kiss Dan Bayer's
asked if Ohio State wins or loses that again, it's
it's not it's not the national championship, but a great
moment for Indiana, and they must.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Score at all in the second half. But looking look.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
At that last all right, so you let's say they
make that field goalfy, they don't miss that chip shot,
which college is interesting because I love how in college
you could kick the ball with fields so far left
or far right, like the hash marks, they're so different.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Right, Yeah, there's so much wider, So it makes it
so you'd probably better off kicking a thirty two yard
field goal as opposed to a twenty seven yarder.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Because of the tell that kid it was in the angle,
was in his head.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Oh yeah, and these he had issues. He missed two
big kicks against Michigan last year, So it is it
is a weakness of Ohio State, and I think that
was magnified in that spot of a big game kick
that was missed.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
But even if he does make that, it's a tie game.
It's thirteen to thirteen.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Hey, then Indiana.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Then Indiana gets the ball back, and you could just say,
I don't blame that kid, is what I'm saying. I
feel like Indiana gets the ball back with a minute
and a half, two minutes. I just feel like that
game wasn't going Ohio States either way.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
I've told I said this to Sam, I've said this
to bo Ohio State. Beating Michigan last week was the
biggest win of this year for they needed to beat
Michigan last week. I felt even more so than a
playoff run, like they needed to beat Michigan last week.
Now to have this game sandwiched in between the Michigan

(31:59):
game and a potential playoff run, yeah, I'm totally fine
with it. Indiana, I felt it meant way much more
to them. It feels like such a backhanded compliment, but
I think that that's the reality of it, and I
think that interview shows it.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Did you see speaking of football and kicking and chip
shots and all the other stuff Donald Trump put out
there that we should change football recently the name Yeah, oh,
you didn't see that, because the World Cup draw was
announced over the weekend and he was saying that the
NFL got it wrong they should come up with a

(32:37):
new name.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
For the sport. Any suggestion, No, but you didn't see
that trump ball.

Speaker 7 (32:42):
Yeah, I mean, this is the kind of discussion people
have when they've had five beers and they're just talking
about the bones of the sport. I've heard this before
so many times. Why is it called football? Doesn't be
called a handball? He's not wrong.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
He's not wrong.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
When he's not wrong, now I'm turning into him when
you realize and that the rest of the world calls
soccer football. He did make that reference over the weekend,
So just throwing it out. Well, you know what, there's
still so much more to get to. In fact, the
phones are all lit. We're gonna talk some NFL, some college.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
But let's go to dB. We're running lay for an update.

Speaker 8 (33:12):
Yah.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
Maybe on another show we could come up with alternate
names because handball wouldn't work, because it's all well.

Speaker 7 (33:19):
They could take the name handball from handball, and then
their football becomes handball, and then handball.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Can find nominee pigskin. Yeah, how about send the vegans? Though,
who cares about vegans?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Notre Dame Athletic director Pete Pavakua until the Dan Patrick
Show today. Well, I'll let him tell you on what
he thinks about the relationship between Notre Dame and the
ACC after the ACC, in his mind, made an all
out push to put Miami in the college football playoffs.

Speaker 10 (33:44):
I have tremendous respect for Miami, you know, the great team,
great school. But we were mystified by the actions of
the conference to attack you know, their biggest really business
partner in football and a member of their conference in
twenty four of our other sports. I wouldn't be honest
with you if I didn't say that they have certainly
done permanent damage to the relationship between the conference in

(34:07):
Notre Dame.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Strong words from Bavaqua. ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips released a
statement this afternoon saying, quote, when it comes to football,
we have a responsibility to support and advocate for all
seventeen of our football playing member institutions, and I stand
behind our conference efforts to do just that leading up
to the College Football Playoff Committee selections on Sunday end. Quote,
every goal starts with an assist on and off the field.

(34:31):
That's why Haley On and US Soccer are launching for
the Assist, a celebration of everyday acts of support that
help people achieve their goals with iconic brands like sense It,
I'm Toms, Adville, and Sentrum. To learn more, go to
Haley on assist dot com. Browns quarterback Shudor Sanders will
be the team starter for the rest of the season,
according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Colt quarterback Daniel Jones

(34:52):
out for the year with the torn achilles T Higgins
and concussion protocol for the Bengals, while the defensive entry
Hendrickson's going to have core muscle surgery and we have
a flex alert. Week sixteen, Sunday Night football will now
be Patriots and Ravens, Bengals and Dolphins. Moves to one
o'clock Eastern guys. Back to you, No thank you, dB.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
We got to we'll talk more college and NFL action
and uh yo.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
My story that I want to get.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
To Jackson Dart is this dude kicking it to one
of the hotties out there that we all know on
social media.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
You were the young quarterback in New York, you wouldn't
so we'll explain.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
There's a lot of fun stories still to get to
here on Cavino and Rich Hangkti.

Speaker 5 (35:29):

Ninni Muggins?

Speaker 5 (35:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Do you know what the uh?

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Take a guess the stue Will Ferrell Warren Elf went
up for auction for a charity. Guess how much someone
paid for that stupid green ELF costume? And I guess Yeah,
three hundred thousand dollars. I was gonna say, like four
sixty four thousand, heard me say it earlier, Yeah, three
hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Knew the answer? Yeah, did jerky man? I'm smart? Not tomorrow?
That's right for lunch, right, Elf?

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Spaghetti with maple syrup chocolate and Evan m yummy.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Enjoy that.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
And of course we got Bo Benson on the phones
in for the Danny g Producer of Ours eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fix those got his Eagles hat
on tonight He's yeah, he's got ready for some domination
out here, Eagles Chargers. You think the Eagles got this one?
Bow or what is this?

Speaker 1 (36:38):
H I hope so it's not looking good. If they don't,
it's gonna say what helped you guys a lot? Was
the Cowboys losing on Thursday night? Yeah, because it gave
you a little breathing room.

Speaker 10 (36:48):
Magic number is two and Jayden Daniels has done for
the year, so they should be able to get a
couple more wins.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
So that he's on the video.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
If you want to see bow and his sweet ass
Eagles hat, what about just his sweet ass is up?
I mean, yeah, that is a given. We're lying from
the Fox Sports Radio studio. Like I said, it's time
for a tire IRAQ play of the day. The Packers
continue the domination of dub Bears.

Speaker 9 (37:09):
Fourth and one, Chicago take the sweat bog legging let Williams.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Looking to plus the ends on the tennis sector reception a.

Speaker 9 (37:19):
Leaping interception by Keys shot next and cancer is your dagger.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
That was interesting because Williams on that final drive, you
really got the feeling that the Bears are going to
tie it up and just don't.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I just don't.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I don't know if I love the play calling there
and Ben Johnson's the greatest play caller in the game,
you could argue, but I was not a fan of
that last series. That's your Play the Day courtesy of
ninety seven point three the Game w R and Douves.
What you know about kring Packers Radio Network. That's our
tyrect play the Day. For forty years Tyrack, they've been
helping customers find the right tires for how, what and
where they drive, free installation options, mobile tire protection, all

(37:57):
that good stuff at tyrereck dot com, the I tire
buying all right. So again, hope he had a great weekend.
Help all your teams won, Steelers, Jagsville's Taxan's making a statement.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Excited for tonight. Rich'll give you his picks on that.
Oh we're wrapping up things that made you go. Any
observation you made? What the pundes are all lit.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
I don't want to keep people waiting. So let's say
I had to let's start a trip in oh, you
know what trip? Please hold because he has a topic
that I think we got to get into it. It's
the Raiders and some Shenanigans with the points spread. So
hold on, go to indian Rhode Islands.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
What's up Indy?

Speaker 8 (38:29):
Hey Byza so things that made me go home this weekend.
I'm gonna have to go with John Morant. This guy
he's getting off the bench of street clothes. He wants to,
you know, start talking junks. The guys are on the
floor and I'm not digging it to me, I just
look at it. This guy, he's just trying to prove

(38:50):
to everyone that he's not someone that he's trying to be.
And sometimes you have to be careful for that because
I feel like he has some Aposta syndrome.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Yeah, honestly, I'm around. I just want to, don't you
want to just be like listen, man.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
This is alwayssier to get back on that. I can
remind everybody that he's a force on the NBA.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Stop sabotaging yourself out of them. Let's go to Indianapolis
and say how to Brad?

Speaker 1 (39:11):
What's up? You read? Hey? Be you read hey?

Speaker 5 (39:14):
Guys?

Speaker 6 (39:14):
First of all, I love this show. Oh thanks man
as a former radio guy, relatable content in the evening
it's always a good thing. So great job of guys
every single day.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Thank you man.

Speaker 6 (39:27):
A couple of thoughts as a lifelong Indiana fan, you
know when Signetty fold the fan base when he got there,
he had to change the way they think. Well, that
was mostly in Bloomington, but with that win last night
or on Saturday, I think he changed the think of
the entire fan base station wide. And there's a lot
of Indiana fans out there, so I think they made
a statement. And that Big ten championship is a lot

(39:49):
bigger deal than most people think it is because that's
going to set us up for many years down the road.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Honestly, what a morale boost and what a what a
statement by the by the organization, by the college. As
dB rolls his eyes because he knew, he's like, it's
not a championship, guys, relaxed, it's.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Not the national championship. Hey, it's a Big ten championship.
And there's a lot of people who I.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Thought of dB over the weekend, something about Dan Bayer
came to mind. Boy, something made me go, hmmm, we'll
get to that and more a lot of NFL right,
that's we got to get to Today on CNR hank
