in there.

We got old school and fifty hits. We throw it
back every Thursday. That's your chance to really get involved.
Put it this way. It in bra It involves toys
you never got growing up. We'll explain why, and we're
gonna expand beyond toys, just things you always wanted and
somehow never got.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Plus show and tell.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
If you want to see what I brought in and

Speaker 1 (01:40):
My god, did I bring something? You better?
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I bring something that reminded he was showing till Thursday.
Did I bring something too? I texted Rich at seven
am I something that bring.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
We're gonna find out.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Oh that means he's gonna run to his car during
the break. Yeah, you're like, I brought an air freshener.
Oh you'll say, you'll say a little tree. So anyway,
perhaps we'll see if you want to play along at home,
YouTube streaming live at Covino and Rich FSR. At Covino
and Rich FSR. Let's just say for now, I'm gonna
(02:12):
give you a hint of what mine is. It's a
great moment in Mexican history. And I brought it in
because hey, we're heading into the big Fiesta week next week.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Man, yeah, the four next week.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
So hey, good one, get your gritos ready, and let's
close out April strong. All right, let's have some fun.
Let's start this show begin when when we when we
go over old school later, things you wanted to do
and get as a kid. We include things like appetizers
at restaurants. Sure of course we have some at home, Rich,
And when your dad would pretend he couldn't find that
(02:46):
a dollar or so when the ice creamman was coming by.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Oh that is true. Man.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Parents always got real cheap when the ice cream man came.
So we have some vanilla ice cream in the freezing.
I got some brias in the fridge that doesn't come
talk about all right, so we'll reminisce sum here. We
do it every Thursday on the show. But right now
it's something that Rich. I gotta give Rich the credit.
Rich is titling. We lost the plot. America and Canada
West the plot. We've gone too far. There was a
(03:16):
story we even joked about a couple of days ago.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
We're some beard. But the key is we choked about.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, a couple of days ago, we joked and made
fun of this bearded Jabbroni that stole a ball from
a little girl in the stands at a guardian's raised game.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
It went very viral.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
We made fun of him. He deserved to be made
fun of. But but guess what we did after that?
Did we do we encourage strong people? Do we have
to take accountability?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
No?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
No, no, no no. And I'll tell you why were
we holding the pitchforks the ones holding the torches up?
Here is what happens in twenty twenty six and this
is where, like I said, we lost the plot. When
someone does some dumb stuff, all my goodness, we as
a people love to jump on them, and I'm cool
with that. Make fun of someone when they do something dumb,
(04:08):
But then you know what, you leave them alone and
you move on to the next stupid person. I think
we've gone to a point now where if someone does
something dumb, we don't need to find out where they work.
We don't need to find their family members on social media.
We don't need to go find out where they live.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
They don't need to camp outside their house.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
You're talking about a minor offence, right, rich because of
like a say, a racist Karen. I mean people get
her fired from her job usually.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, I mean there's a line where it's like, all right,
that's a level that fence. That person deserves it. But
you know, some guy or woman just does something dumb,
you know, let him be.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yeah, you can make fun of him, mock them for
a little bit on social media.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
But I think this culture of tracking someone down there
are sleuths that they get off on finding out their
name and I found out where they work. Man, oh
now I got there dress. And then they start posting
stuff and these people get harassed. This poorche lub, this
bearded buffoon. Probably it swell fella. He had to go
(05:10):
on the local news and be like, hey, I'm sort
of a community Just take a listen to this guy.
He had to go on the local Fox affiliate.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
I want to just put out an apology and just
say I'm sorry. I'm sorry to the family, I'm sorry
to the parents. The little girl, her brother. I'm so
utterly sorry for everything that's transpired. Like you said, it
was the heat of the moment thing. I made a
really bad decision, a lot of bad decisions, and I'm
(05:39):
paying for it online. And I understand the backlash. I
understand everything that everyone has said to me, but there
was no mal intent and I did give it back
to her.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
We have some sound from her and she wants to
say something to you right now.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I'm Max, thanks for giving us the ball back.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
We forgive you for it.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
We know that internet has been going wild over this.
We hope they forgive you.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
This eleven year old girl has to come to his defense.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
His name is Max. By the way, was he ball
maxing or what? What was going on?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Well? Probably our video guy Spot said the word is doxing.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
When you know, doxing is when you research someone and
try to ruin their lives well, collecting all the information
where they work, who they're related to.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
That's doxing.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
So yeah, we've taken doxing too far, and yeah it
doesn't excuse Max of his wrongdoings.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Max is a bonehead, we all.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Know that, but a bonehead that you can bust his
chops and then move along. That's that's really it. We're
losing the plot, as Rich said, in the sense that
it's fun to make fun. And we did a good
job of laughing at his expense and calling him out
and saying what a dope and bonehead he is. And
you know people like that are the worst. But that's
the end of it. It's all in good fun and
(06:53):
good natured. When you start trying to ruin someone's life,
that's when it's gone too far, you know.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
What it's like.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
It's a it's like going too much. We gotta find
out where he works. Why now you're harassing that guy?
And by the way, and now you're worse than he is.
You're I could say you're no better, but you're actually
worse than he is. If you're taking it the steps
where you're now, you know, sending all these evil messages
and you're putting his public information out there, or you're
(07:20):
making threats, you're way worse than the guy that had
a bad moment. Can I tell you? I think we're
seeing this on full display, even with Diana Rossini and
Mike Rabel listen. At worst, what are they guilty of cheating?
Maybe allegedly do they does Mike Rabel need to be
followed through an airport by like dopes on their phones, like, hey,
(07:42):
coach Rabel, what do you have to say?
Speaker 1 (07:44):
What do you have to say?
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Trying to get Internet popular? For a second, I just
think we are. We got to cool it. As my
dad would say in the eighties, cool it, you know,
it's a cool it. Ralph Tresvan in the eighties he
got a cool it. Cool it now man new addition style.
People need to relax. People need to get a grip
Arrowsmith style.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Get a grip.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Seriously, take a show pill bro, No, we are losing
a plant. Rich, as the kiddos say, make fun, have fun.
In fact, have fun making fun. There's nothing that brings
me more joy than making fun of somebody. It's the best.
It's a it's a pastime and something we grew up doing.
In fact, if you're from Union, New Jersey, it's what
we live to do. It's what my family does best.
I'm pretty sure people is great. That's sure. Your favorite
(08:27):
hobby is making fun of me every day. It's one
of my favorite things to do.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Rich.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
I'm not gonna lie, but you know I know because
you're a good sport. But that's where it ends. When
it starts getting evil and you're ruining lives. Boxing as
as it's called, you are the loser. You are the
pathetic one. Even when someone's doing something wrong, unless an
old school Karen, like Danny said, if she's being racist
(08:51):
or inappropriate, that's one thing. Yeah, some people need to go.
There are people that just do something this day, had
a moment. Sometimes someone's just rude and it's like, yep,
that a moment.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Impulsive, he said, Yeah, of the moment. You don't need
I believe that you don't need to harass and everyone.
When you harass someone, you're showing your intent like you
thought about it. You're maliciously like I'm gonna plan this out, premeditated, Sam.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
We're almost a year away from the anniversary at that
shows how much time is flying.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
People are the worst.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
There's something that happened last year, and don't get me wrong,
we all got a kick out of it. The memes,
the AI, the photoshops all hilarious. But that couple that
was caught cheating at the Coldplay concert, did they need
that national attention? Was hugging someone from behind? That's not
your spouse and oh god, god, was that worth. It's
(09:38):
also interesting to see why stories like that or Rabel
Russini gets so much coverage and so much aggression and
so much doxing, and then stories like Klay Thompson, like
everyone's like, yeah, when are making the stallion?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
You cheated? Ah man?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Wow, Okay, anyway, you know, other stories don't get as
much coverage. That's also interesting in itself. And I'm trying
I'm not trying to prepet wait, you know, anyone to
start harassing Kay Thompson now, But you know, it's interesting
to see because they didn't deserve all that. Who can't
why the way? Like, why would I care that much
about him? Because the dude was a or they were
(10:12):
CEOs of a company I don't know. Well, so I
guess our point here and we can move on, is
that we've gone too far. And the fact that I mean,
I know it's a local story. You can say maybe
it ends now, but the fact that they track this
guy down, well, what are you happy, rich when someone
jumps off a bridge?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
That's the thing.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Well, it's like that, do you want blood on your hands?
Do you want to be responsible because you're the one
that pushed him over the edge because they couldn't take
the harassment anymore. So let's say you're harassing. In my opinion,
you're breaking the law at that point. So let's say
you bother someone on social media. Enough, Let's say it's
it's some reality stars or an athlete who had a
bad moment. You know how many superstars because they lost
(10:49):
the game, or they made an error, or they blew
the game. They just like have to live with that
in the world of social media. Like it's one thing
if you're Bill Buckner, But imagine being that today. Or
remember the Clasi story of Donny Moore the baseball player, Yeah,
killed himself because he let up.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
A big home run.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Like, if you do that today, people don't stop until
what when are you satisfied? I'll give you one. I
don't know much about it. It's not my world. You
know what, Believe it or not? You know who might
damn byer. It's one of his guilty pleasures. Vander Pump
and Housewives in that world, right, dB.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Yeah, not so much vander Pump, but the Housewives franchise. Yeah,
I was gonna say.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
All I would say is this Tom sand of all
guy who was like cheating and he was sort of
dal scandal and I'm thinking of myself like, I'm sure
he leans into it because you know, like that's his
They survive on on drama and TMZ headlines. But there
came a point where everyone involved in that I felt
they all look sad, like, dude cheated. Do you know
how many people cheating? Du dumb things like we we
(11:48):
all do dumb. It was an episode of South Park
years ago where it shows how we love to build
someone up and then break them down. And the whole
gimmick of the South Park was then what you want
that person to kill themselves?
Speaker 1 (11:59):
And then what you move on to the next person.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
That's what I'm saying, and I think people need to
keep that in mind. What if you're the catalyst for
something terrible now you're even you're way worse to me.
You should be in jail for harassing people. And you
know what, unfortunately we see it. You know, not every
joke we tell is going to slay dB. But I
don't need to hear all this, you know, negative stuff
about it all the time. Either, what's interesting and you're
worse than my joke.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
About what Rich's explanation or example that he used was
that whole show felt like it was based on cheating,
but that was the one that went crazy, and he
cheated on the girl that he was with that he
got with, I think because he cheated before. But to you,
to your point, like these things happen everywhere, and some
of them also just take off like absolute wildfire. Not
(12:44):
that people are busted at concerts every time, but your
point of different situations of who's talking about what even
within that realm, that one took off, and the other
ones were just kind of a part of the theme.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
And I don't remember all the details, but I do
remember The Bachelor. It was a year when Chris Harrison
got fired. There was some girl they went to an
antebellum ball when she was in college and had no
clue that it had a bad history in the South, right.
She had to go on TV and be like, I'm
working on myself and all this, and it's like and
(13:15):
like the world would after this girl, and like what
would you would be happy if she jumped off a bridge?
Like you said, need to educate yourself, Rich, I'm educating
how many how many times do you see someone on
a message board, people say awful things to each other,
like go kill yourself, and it's like, do you actually.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Mean that exactly? And people who are really bitter and
angry and.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Resil it's the worst, and and and here's and Danny
g already made this point. But the punishment has to
match the crime. When everyone is laughing about the story
and calling him a bonehead, Oh he's the worst. That's funny.
When you start threatening the dude, even wanting to get
him fired, that's too far. And then the fact that
the eleven year the eleven year old girl had to
(13:54):
go on the news and be like, we forgave him.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
You guys should too.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I hate to say these people, these people, I don't
know who they are, but there's a lot of them.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Trouble losers, man, they really are losers.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Waiting, I'll bring up the Diana Rassini rabel thing one
last time because I've always felt, you know, unfortunate for
their circumstance. What did What would make people happy is
the end result of people want to be like and
there it is her husband file for divorce, Like is
that what you want? Like Rabel area is picking out
pajamas or something at the airport. That's what people want, accountability.
(14:26):
People want to hear the side of the story.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
But I'm saying, what do you, well, will it make
fans and people happy?
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Of all of a sudden, it's like there it is,
she filed for divorce, Like has a nervous breakdown? Is
that when you're happy, Like it's gotta stop, like Mike
Rabel had a mental breakdown and had to quit. And
here's why, how you want? It can happen to anybody?
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Is that what you want?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
That's the other thing, Like you could get caught up
in the moment or say something stupid or and be
part of this scandalous story. And now what So I
think I think accountability is the best way to squash it.
So I understand why this dude did it, But punishment
not matching the crime. Stop the docs in, stop ruining lives.
It's fun to make fun, yeah, but it's not fun
(15:07):
when people are pushing things too far. Question for you,
let me ask you, and that We'll move on to
the NBA. Some good NBA last night. The Lakers were
close to any They were close. There was a moment
in that game where I'll get to in a second,
there are a couple offensive rebounds. I'm like, come on,
they shot you within five Anyway, I do wonder when
(15:28):
people will be happy. And if you were that guy
in twenty twenty six of The Ball Guy, The Ball Guy,
the Ballmaxer, would you feel the urge to go on
TV to apologize to just to get it off your chest.
Would you be like, no, I'm not addressing this.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
And it'll go away.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Or do you feel like nowadays this guy made the
proactive move like all right, I'll go on the local news.
I kind of think he did it to squash it.
It's unfortunate, so he might have had to because he
also probably felt so bad, like I'm not that guy
that would steal from a girl and people need to.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Know of that.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
So yeah, if that was if that was me, Let's
say I got caught up in the moment like he did,
not even realizing it came to me. I went to
get it and realized there was a little kid there.
Happened all so fast. I mean you no, no, no, if
I got it, I said no, I said I wouldn't
give it to a kid just because I got it.
I think you might have to explain yourself just to
(16:18):
get people off your back. You know, he didn't have to,
but I think it was a good move. It's just
sad to see how far we take things. But the
coward behavior. Man, we really got to get to a point.
Can Spencer Pratt fix this somehow? If he if he's
if he's mayor can we can you fix the internet
where people are held accountable for the things that they
(16:41):
do and say on social media and online. I think
like there's too many cowards in today's world and they're
pushing people over the edge, and that's that's the problem.
But anyway, make fun, stop ruining lives. Hey the mother
fn nd all right, Hey, coming up, we are going
to go old school today.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I love it every Thursday.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
And Dannygy there's a really good, really good throwback and
it has to do with toys and like you said,
things your parents wouldn't wouldn't give in on that you
really wanted as a kid. We'll go old school. Plus,
we're gonna talk Lakers next. Shaquille O'Neill. Hero ball, that's
what we're talking about here, Hero Shaquille O'Neil. I also
want to know how Laker fans feel about Honestly, I
don't even understand what Shack's talking about. When when one
(17:25):
of your legends like that would be like Camino, Derek
Juter's like, yeah, I know, I'm I'm hating the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Like do you feel weird? Even the checks saying I'm
hating the Lakers with no fighting word ever since he
put that Celtics jersey on. He's not one of our legends.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah, so we're gonna talk some Lakers, We'll talk some
NBA playoffs and a bunch more next right here, Covino
and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Now, every sports season

Cool It arguably the greatest boyband that was when you
think about their impact and how they spawned off and
who came out of new addition, it's debated on that
new documentary boy Band what's it called boy Band Confidential
on HBO Max a new edition cool It Now, and
that's what everybody needs to do.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Cool It Now.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
When it comes to all the online harassing, what a
bunch of losers. Honestly, I've had enough of it.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
I really have the bunch of losers talking about those
people are the Mets, oh both.
Speaker 8 (20:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
So it's fun to make fun of people, but when
it comes to ruining their lives, like, when's enough enough?
And the reason we brought it up is because the dude,
the bearded buffoon, and we admit he deserves some clowning
clown it. That's the key, that bearded dunce. He missed
them and we gave him a good razzin a little
(20:50):
razzle do a little uh busting to the chops and
he apologized guff for stealing the ball from the little girl.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Now leave him alone. Yeah, you don't need to track
down his job.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
No one needs to try to get him fired or
stand outside his house or bother his family on social.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Media like he made a mistake. I think we've lost
a plot. You know what.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
It's sort of like, I'll give you an analogy. We
all have friends that are good at bustin wavos.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Everybody wants to pounce and grab their pitchfors for everyone.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Everyone wants to be like, let's get them. Everyone has
friends that are good pranksters. They're good at busting well,
like I said, wavos, they're good at a good prank.
And then you have that one friend that takes it
too far and he like talks about your girlfriend or
like when you're drunk he draws on you with a
sharpie and you're.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Like, dude, we don't what are you doing. He brings
your mama's combat boots into the conversation.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
There's that one buddy we all know in college or
you know, back in the day that took it too
far and you're like, not, you don't know how to
do it, like some people don't know how it's supposed
to be fun.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
So that's what's happening, thanks to social media, or as
they're calling it now, rich interest media.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
It's not even.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Social media anymore. Are you going there to communicate or
connect with anybody? Do you even see your buddies posts?
Is interest media is what they think you're interested in.
So thanks to interest media, that's all we see. Is
we told you that Gary Vee is called interest media,
and and that's really what's going on. And it seems
like we're all interested in a good, salacious story and
(22:21):
who we need to hate next. Okay, so speaking of
who we need to hate next, it might be Shaquille O'Neill.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Well, we're gonna get to that. We're gonna get to that.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
But let me remind you, speaking of Shaquille O'Neil, we
had live from the Fox Sports Radio studio and the
NBA playoffs are here in DraftKings Sportsbook is the official
sports betting partner of the NBA. Right now, use our
code c our show to claim your special offerings at DraftKings. Again,
that's code see our show at DraftKings. The crown is yours.
I thought our code was up, up, down, down, left, right,
left right, BA select storm. I thought it was a
(22:51):
double O seven. That's cur show cr show.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
All right.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Well, speaking of Reminiscent throwing it back, we got old
school and fifty hits coming up. It involves old school
things you never got. We'll explain why. But let's take
a quick phone call eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Well, what's up? Who do we got? Danny Mark in Carson,
Nevada wants to weigh in. Hey Mark, what's up buddy?
Speaker 5 (23:14):
Hey guys that topic you were just talking about. Yeah
here last week, I don't know you guys know storage Wars.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Yeah, Daryl Sheet yep committed, he took unlived himself and
he was being bullied constantly online. Yeah, that's a sad,
sad story, and a lot of people feel like they
know that guy because that you watched that show on
redrun constantly.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Just let it play.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
I watched that show all the time, really sad and yeah,
what you're not happy until that happens.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Jeez, So leave that guy alone.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
And that doesn't mean I want to make it clear,
we're not taking some righteous stance. We love making fun
of people more than anyone. The keyword is fun.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Just no when to say when.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yep, it's honestly, Denny. It's like the person that has
one too many drinks should have left well on the alone. Well,
I hope you had a Pistons, Calves Rockets sort of night.
We got some great games tonight.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
You thought the Calves are going to blow it there
at the end, didn't you?
Speaker 9 (24:11):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (24:11):
I did? I did.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Yeah, But I also thought that the Lakers maybe had
a shot, And I think the definitely would have had
a shot if they turned it up sooner.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Both the Lakers and the Magic turned it on late
in their games. There were some similarities there where both
couldn't close it out.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
You know, I was a stamina issue, though, Is that? Honestly?
Is that because sometimes they dropped the ball? Don the
shot don't drop like the Lakers. The Lakers stole the
ball down by five. Remember at the end, there was
a turnover rebound.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
When Lebron drove and hit that layup. It was a
three point game at that point.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Then it went back to five, and then the Lakers
had the ball with like a minute under a minute,
had the ball down by five, and they had a
breakaway and they pulled Lebron shot of three. I think
it was rebound Austin Reeves three offensive rebound. There was
there was opportunities.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah, they had their chances, but.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Sometimes the the ball doesn't drop it out of the
like stammina, you know, just bad luck. Like you know,
I was rationalizing watching I'm like, well, maybe that's how
it's like a like a marathon, right, you got to
pace yourself. Like hey, that's just how the Lakers are
pacing themselves. And they're gonna turn it on at the
end of the game. And they did, and it's noticeable
and some people like that and some people don't. And
it seems like Shaquille O'Neal is not a fan. If
(25:22):
you missed it, here's what you said about the Lakers
game last night.
Speaker 8 (25:25):
I hate watching the Lakers play sometimes because towards the
end they try to play the hero ball. Okay, we're
gonna start playing hard now and if we hit this
three or the time of game, that's.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Not gonna work.
Speaker 8 (25:35):
Lebron knows that I'll understand that these young guys need
to understand that the crowd was flat. They played flat,
they played with no intensity, they didn't have focus, and
I'm glad the Rockets beat them. We know what it
needs to be done to win the championship. Lebron knows
that I'm surprised that they didn't come out with with
that effort intensity, and I'm super disappointed in the Lakers tonight.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
And they see that hero say evs hero Ball last night,
Why a hero comes along?
Speaker 2 (26:05):
We don't need another hero, dude. Now, I feel like
I feel what he's saying.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I take a hero.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
I was watching the same thing and I did feel
that way. But it has to sting a little bit.
Dannyg when a former Laker says he hates watching the
Lakers play and he wanted to I mean, look.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Some of that was truthful.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Hero Ball, I don't know because Lebron was driving to
the rack there at the end of the game. Stamina,
I think is a bigger issue here.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
If you tell me it's that, then I then I'm
more cool with what I saw.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Yeah, he looked gassed. Half the team look gassed at
the end of that game. Now you could say it's
just because they have an older roster. I think the
average age for them is thirty two. Average age for
the Rockets is like twenty three or something like that.
So you got an older roster versus a younger roster.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Well, that's easier to digest because if you think they're
just hot dogging it for most of the game and
then turn it on, yeah, that's not what you want.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
You do. Wonder where the intensity is.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
If you just acknowledge, like, nah, man, they're just playing
like that because they're older, then it's easier to understand.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yeah, but they did. Look I guess Austin chucking up
that bad three at the end. I could see what
Jack saying maybe about that, but Austin Reeves was trying
to dust that rust off. dB and I both talked
about that yesterday. He was four of sixteen. That's not
going to cut it, but he's got to get back
into the flow of things he missed just over four.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Weeks of play.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Lebron had eight assists in the first quarter of Game
one of this series. And what he finished with thirteen
in that game. And I remember the narrative at that
point and in the game too. Oh my god, they're
swinging the ball around. This team passes the ball great,
and they do. When you play hero ball, you don't
pass well, that's when somebody's ball dominating.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
I think hero ball.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
And when I hear that, I think, like college hoops,
were teams down by like you know, three, and.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Foe guy tries to take over.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yeah, now they force their backs against the wall. They
take it to Houston and now they got to win.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Dude. I think it's tougher.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
But on the flip side, the longer they're in the series,
the better chance Luca could be in the next series
if they want to continue playing.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
It's a really strange feeling right now being a Lakers fan,
because on one hand, you never want to see your
team lose, but on the other hand, you know what's
waiting for you on the other side.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
If you win this series.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
I think both these teams are in trouble if they advance,
because we know how good Oklahoma City is. I think
they averaged beating the Lakers by twenty nine points in
each of their matchups. This past season, So you need
Luca to have any sort of chance against the Thunder Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Kiman, No, it's like when you beat King Hippo and
you're like, well, I'm just pissing. Hans's next to you,
exact great Tiger. I don't know what's up. dB.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
The funny thing about Austin Reeves when we talked about
yesterday was the Lakers like easing a man and then
he goes and play thirty four minutes. Yeah, he comes
off the bench, So I always love that he's going
to come off the bench, but play thirty four minutes
in the game.
Speaker 8 (28:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Yeah, you missed the first six and then you get
you know, six off, eight off the rest of the game.
But there was no easing inside for the first six
minutes of the game.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Dare I say, for fans of some of these teams,
we could, if all goes accordingly, we can have three
NBA Game sevens on Sunday, and Danny for your blood pressure,
I hope that's not the case, but you could very
well have Raptors, Caves, Rockets, Lakers, and Magic Pistons all
game sevens on Sunday, which would be a hell of
(29:26):
a plan. If you just plan on sitting on your
asshole day on Sunday, get a little coffee, a little
breakfast sandwich, and then have three game sevens.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
These playoffs have been awesome so far.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Almost two weeks in in the twenty twenty six NBA playoffs,
three point eight four million viewers is what they're averaging
right now. That's the best numbers since nineteen ninety three.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
The games have been great, Danny, because I think a
lot of people Cavino will disagree with this on most things,
but I think a lot of people are like me.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I think a lot of people annoying. Keep going. I
agree with that. Yeah, yeah, most people are annoying. Most
people are like me.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Most people full of themselves. I don't know, I don't
where you're going, Oh, hyped up for no reason?
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Keep up? I mean you could keep going. I'm short,
But I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Say most people are like me in that they realized
in the last handful of years the NBA regular season
holds such little weight and significance and the product isn't there,
and that's a problem. But like we keep making that
silly analogy of like, you know, vacation sex versus like
a random Wednesday at your house, when you see what
someone's capable of, the.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
NBA playoffs are delivering.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Where the casual NBA fan that watches highlights like me,
in the playoffs, you're locked in. It's a different game.
It's there's no other sport where the postseason in the
regular season. The juxtaposition the difference, it's drastic to me.
People used to say about baseball. Baseball somehow fixed that.
I think, what's up, Sam.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
So, NBA playoff viewership usually does pretty well, but this year,
actually regular season viewership of the NBA is up a
huge amount. I think it's because of NBC, ABC and
then on Amazon Prime. But if you look at the
regular season numbers, they're up, like I'm seeing eighty six
percent from last year, which is pretty impressive.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
I'm surprised to hear that because as far as like
I feel like the buzz doesn't match those stats. I
didn't feel like the regular season buzz was all that.
I feel it's NBC getting back into it. Because we
had week night games in prime.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
Time that we would see we'd have doubleheaders, or for
us on the West Coast we'd have the later game.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
The East Coast would have the earlier game.
Speaker 6 (31:26):
I think that I don't think that's the whole story,
but I think that would be a reason why you
would also see a positive up tacking it.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Primetime NBC is gonna get ratings regardless like NFL. Suddenly
football is the highest read of show on television in general.
Maybe it's Round Ball Rock. Maybe it's just John Tesh's back,
and that's why I'm giving credit to John.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
That's probably all John Teshes long. People love that.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Oh and maybe that really elaborates sit down with Mike
Trico and Michael Jordan's insight that was in the insight. Yeah,
but I think all those things combined and think about it,
the voices on NBC and that like NBC does well
in their primetime numbers, and if the NBA is part
of that, it just, you know, it helps it. I
want to throw this out there for fun because I
feel like Shaq took a bit of a bit of
(32:10):
a low blow to the Lakers when he said he
hates watching them play play like that is what he meant,
I guess hero And he said he's glad they and
he's glad they lost. Like wow, that's tough. That really
is tough based on hero You think Lebron texted him?
You mean that bro?
Speaker 8 (32:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Like based on that though based on hero Ball? Does
anybody have a hero story they want to share? Like
that one time you got the chance to be a hero?
Did you come through? Remember when Pee wee Herman so
the pet store was on fire and he went running
in stave all the snakes, saved all the snakes, and like,
were you faced with a situation where you could be
a hero? Because I got one story and it's a
classic start. I haven't told you the years, did you
(32:49):
did you give someone like that? I'm like at a
restaurant or something. No, that's that's a great story though. Right,
I was at a like a street fair. Was not
a block party. It was like a farmer's market, but
like a big farmer's market in Studio City, Like all
the streets were shut down when I had their little
shops up and everything. Everyone's out there buying honeys and vegetables.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
And fruit local honey.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yeah, little trinklets and bracelets and things they were selling.
And it was a big jumpy jump. And people who've
been listening to us for years remember the story. But
I haven't told it. This is my chance, and this
jumpy jump. Right before my very eyes, the hero started
collapsing on all these little kids.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
They're like a.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Bouncy and all of a sudden, it was collapsing on
all these kids. I was like, I went in there, dude.
I did the army crawl inside. I was like, you, guys,
I got them. I started pulling kids by their socks
and by their feet, throwing heaving them out to other parents.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Kids were like, save me. I was grabbing them.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
I was heaving them out to the other parents, and
we were just doing a chain of like getting these
kids out, and I led the whole four and honestly, they're.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Like that guy right there, he's a hero. And I
was like, yeah, he ran away. And everyone's like, what's
his name? I think it's Mario Lopez. You know, Mary
Lopez got all the credit.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
It was me.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
It was me.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
And when I when I told the story on you know,
our old show years ago, I pretended like it was
on fire. It wasn't on fire, but it was collapsing
on all these hit It was on fire. Yeah, And
I saved them all, guys. But I did have that moment,
bro and I I was proud of myself because I reacted.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
I react reacted, yea god man. But hey, I live
to tell the story.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Hey, hero Ball, forget that we have a hero in
the study, right anyone else got a story they want
to share shots?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
You know what, Let me think about it. Let's go
to DV for an update. We are going to go
old school. We'll talk some MLB. Well, we got a
bunch of stuff coming up. What's up, then, bier guys.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
Right now in Cleveland, the Browns are having a moment
where they have a groundbreaking ceremony for their new stadium
that they're going to build, and Commissioner Roger Goodell has
implied that Cleveland could be getting a NFL.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Draft sometime in the near few.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
I think they were supposed to have one in the
COVID year around that time. But so Cleveland, Cleveland could
be a side for an NFL draft. We'll get to
some other NFL news later on, but you guys were
talking NBA tonight in Atlantis, the Hawks and Knicks at
seven o'clock Eastern time, followed by the Celtics and seventy
six Ers tipping off at eight Eastern. The other Game
six is in Minnesota Timberwolves and Nuggets nine thirty Eastern time.
(35:22):
Io de Soon MoU considered questionable for Minnesota because of
a sore right calf. Amazon and Duke University have reached
an agreement or three high profile men's basketball games will
are exclusively on Prime Video next season. That includes a
date with National champion defending National champion Michigan on December
twenty first at Madison Square Garden. They'll also play Yukon
(35:42):
in Vegas in late November and Gonzaga in Detroit in February.
Speaking of Detroit, Tigers today top the Braves five to two.
Orioles took game one of a double header against the
Astros ten to three, but Houston's returning the favor in
game two. It's eleven three. Houston and the sixth inning
Phillies took game one of a double header against the Giants,
winning three to two by scoring twice in the ninth.
They're just underway. In game two of that double dip,
(36:05):
Cardinals doubled up the Pirates ten to five. Brewers all
over the Diamondbacks thirteen to one. Nationals beat your Mets
Rich Sorry, five to four, while the Reds were six
to four winners against the Rockies in the ninth dning.
The A's have a six to three edge on the Royals.
Packers picked up the fifth year option on the contract
of defensive end Lucas van Ness. Veteran defensive end Kalais
Campbell is signing a one year deal with the Ravens,
(36:26):
and in golf Cadillac Championship, Cam Young Leeds had eight
under Jordan Speets one shot back at seven under par.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Guys, back to you, Dan, Thanks, guys. Just around the room.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Danny g puts the Mets timer on me. So this
is only a twenty second one. What do you think
the Mets record is over their last twenty games?
Speaker 1 (36:44):
I think the only one last twenty Yeah, five and fifteen.
The Mets are three and seventeen.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Oh you know, I was gonna say that to send
it so bad, but you unders said, how like for
a team with that payroll right below the Dodgers right
with the he's like three and seventeen, that's like historically bad.
So it's laughable now where it's almost like how bad
could it get? And there's my timer?
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Thank you dad? All right, we got more. Covino and Rich.
We go old school BX right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
It's me the hero, Steve Covino. But we don't like
hero ball, right Shaq? No, I like you Carino, Thank you, Shaq,
appreciate it. And Rich Davis, Cavino and Rich we got
show and Tell coming up. And I brought something near
and dear to me. It's from a legendary moment in
Mexican history as we approached a big fiesta next week.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
So did I. I just haven't shown you, guys. It's common.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
If you can guess what it is on the live chat,
Danny G might give you a prize. We're streaming live
at Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. Steve Covino, Rich Davis,
Danny G, Sam and Bayer and.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Hey Rich the signer for our tyrack.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Play the day well, Lebron cut the Rockets lead down
to three, but then Houston shut the door. Mark James
bounce past Doling, Shepherd steals.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
It, take it down the lane in the town, but Bron.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Turns it over at the top of the team.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Read Shepherd's third steal.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
All right, The Rockets stay alive for a game six
in Houston on Friday. That calls courtesy of Sports Talk
seven ninety am Rockets Radio Network, and that was our
ti rack play the day I'm on a Rocket. And
for forty years, Tyreck's been helping customers find the right
tires for how, what and where they drive. Ship Fast
and free back by free Road has protection mobile tire installation.
(38:40):
You get that too, all at tirack dot com. The
way tire buying should be. Okay, now, look at the time.
We do this every Thursday. It's time to get you
involved with old School and fifty hits.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
There's a surgeon. Ya. What we gonna do is go back.
Speaker 9 (38:58):
Back into time, going it back for a Thursday Old
School went fifty hits. That's fifty after cn R give
you the time capsule topic and we reminisce together.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Ye yeah, guys, am I missing the reference. Danny.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
You guys put together that great production. That guy that's like,
we gotta go back, we gotta go back. Is that
from a movie or something? I don't know, or is
that just the random thing that's from it? Well, I
know it from a hip hop song. I don't know
where it was going. Okay, Frankie Smith, you know the
whole double Dutch bus sort of thing. That guy, and
it also sounds like wolf Man Jack. We go back
to the little old school. But I think it's a
little Frankie Smith.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
That's what I think it is.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Little Electric Book used to take the double Dutch bus
to school every day. So anyway, I'm Cavino. That is
rich old school. In fifty hits, we got I with
Sam doing some popping and locking.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
He's doing his.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Breakdancing moves, Philly Sam, And I'm going off the dome
like Harry Mack.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
What up, Harry Mack?
Speaker 2 (39:55):
You listening. He's the best freestyler in the game. We
gotta get that guy in the show. Yeah, I'm going
off the dome. And I think this is how the
story goes. Danny g fill in the blanks for me.
On this day in nineteen fifty two, does mikeel run
this place?
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Remember this? Or No?
Speaker 2 (40:10):
He was in college? Was he too old at this one?
Who Michael runs his place?
Speaker 1 (40:15):
Never heard of?
Speaker 2 (40:15):
On this day in nineteen fifty two, it was the
first time ever that the advertised a toy for children
on television.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
Yes, sir, and that toy, But they advertise toys for
adults on television. No, they weren't necessarily marketing to kids.
I know, no, I know, this is this is big.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Right, Like even when they were playing back in the day,
even when they were playing cartoons, they were still advertising
to adults. They had cigarette ads during the Flintstones. Look
it up on YouTube. It's wild Bonnie have a smoke.
Oh yeah, I have a Winston Bonnie Chief Fred Winston's
are great.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
So this one cause any look damage.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Yeah, they were always marketing to adults. They started marketing
the children teen fifty two.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
What toy? Does anybody know? The toy?
Speaker 2 (41:03):
And he guesses out there first commercial targeted to children.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
First toy, don't reveal it? Don't really? Yeah, first toy?
Speaker 8 (41:12):
Was it?
Speaker 1 (41:12):
The erector set?
Speaker 8 (41:13):
No?
Speaker 1 (41:13):
But can I give you a hint and maybe you'll
get it.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
The hint is it's still around today, right, still around today.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
But now you get the whole thing me yes, yeah,
oh wait wait wait, so finish out last part.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Back then, they gave you parts and you were supposed
to use your own thing and involve the food.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
I never mind, I'll give you it. Oh you want
to guess TV easy bake oven?
Speaker 2 (41:34):
No good guests, that's a good one. Here's okay, I'm
I'm a married spud. I'm a married spud. I'm a
married spud.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Mister potato head, there it is.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
You know, back then, Dann Byer, they wanted you to
use your own potato you had. Really it was just
the eyes, the mouth and everything, and they encourage you, like, hey,
grab one of the potato. See and yeah, when you
look up the commercial, it's just the parts on a
potato by Hasbro.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
I believe so.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Yeah, nineteen fifty two, on this day, mister potato had
became the first ever advertised on TV. Now based on that,
what were those things that you always wanted but you
never got? Toys? But it could be more than toys. Yeah,
the things your parents resisted you had.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Come on, mom, come on dad. We'll reminisce a.
