It's been a journey getting away from McLovin. There's all
sorts of things. I see Dan has to think every
time he says it. And I've been Andy, Andrew, Perloff, Pearl.
You know, my friends call me Pearl, but you guys
can call me Andrew.

So we had a big announcement this week. We've been teasing,
kind of teasing this announcement on the 1215 Club for
the last month or so. It's been a lot of
work that's gone into this. Eric, you've put in a
lot of work to kind of get this jump started.
We started this. So we started not so fast. Andy's
back with us. He's going to be hosting a show
with Paul after the Dan Patrick show from 12 to 1.
(01:44):
What has it been like being back? You've been back
for about a month and a half now.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Rehearsing and just hanging out with the guys and kind
of just getting back in the groove.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. It's been, it's so weird. I
walked in that door in mid-July and it felt like
I never left for a day. I don't know if
you guys felt like just seeing me walk around. It
felt like I was walking around like, oh, hey, what's up?
What's up, McLevin? What's up, Andrew? Like, I didn't feel
like anyone even noticed that I had been gone for
four years.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
But it's been so fun. of course the show hasn't started,
so that's been a little easier, but it's just been
just like a, just a lot of fun. Um, yeah,
the energy is also, the energy is great here since, uh,
since I left, there's just a, I talked about this
in an interview the other day, you walk outside, there's
like nine different things going on. Not that there are,
weren't always like that, but now like the DP show
(02:37):
gamble studios right outside ours, there's just a lot of
activity and energy and it's awesome. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well, we've alluded to, or we've not alluded to, we've
specifically mentioned that we've hired a bunch of new people
and like, that was a part of the process of
finding new people, not only skilled people, people that would
fit in with the culture that we've built here, um,
over the last, the culture that Dan's built here over
the last 20 years, people who can do their work,
but also get along with each other and can shoot
the for lack of a better way of saying it. Um, what,
(03:04):
what was the Genesis of this show, Eric?
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah. Well, you know, working closely with Peacock and, and
thinking about what does the future look like with, uh,
you know, if Dan's not here, right? And so, and
that's kind of been my genesis the last six months
of like, you know, what are we doing? And that's
why we moved the podcast out here. We built a
(03:27):
new studio for Gamble and for Toddcast and, you know,
brought back the confessional and added to the staff. You know, we,
Dan and I, kind of like, okay, what are we
going to do? And so then at the same time,
just having a conversation with Peacock about the future and
that sort of thing, he's like, what about doing a
fourth hour of the Dan Patrick show? We're like, I
(03:49):
don't know about that.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
What was Dan's reaction to that?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I did not bring it to Dan. You didn't?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
No.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
And so, I mean, he and I have since talked
about it. Yeah. Yeah, and so then I was like,
all right, but if that's a need and something that
they want, then what can we do? And so I
started working with Paul and immediately started thinking about Andrew
recently become a free agent.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Right.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
This conversation started in February.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I think, in March or February.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Yeah. Well, internally, it was it was it was February.
And then, you know, it's quickly started talking to to Andrew.
And so, you know, there's it takes a long time
to do contracts and figure out distribution plans, all sort
of thing. And so really everything was solidified by middle
middle of June. and astute viewers may have noticed Andrew
(04:38):
at Lake Tahoe, and that was when we first started
ideating and working back together basically full-time.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, I mean, we had been doing some ideating before.
I was just thinking about something. One advantage, regardless of
Paul and I as talent or whatever, you can never
have another show that's 60 feet away from the Dan
Patrick Show studio. Sense of place informs a show, and
I think that was on your mind too, Eric. This
Man Cave... I've been gone for four years and I've
been in a bunch of different studios. There's nothing like this.
(05:06):
So it's like it's such a built in advantage to
be here and to say all the resources, not just technical,
just sort of the fact that I can go down
the hall. And for example, today I'm like, oh, we're
doing this thing on draftable quarterbacks. I'm like, Ray, you
have a list, right? And Ray goes, yeah, give me
five minutes. There's just so much going on here. I
think that kind of. I hope that it's sort of
like it's all part of one big sort of DP
(05:28):
show universe.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah.

Ray is kind of like the rain man of quarterbacks.
I love to do NFL drafts.

He's our gump.

of taken some of my roles. Can I just talk
about the single white female stuff going on with Ray?
I mean, I've been kind of like, you know, because
I would get, you know, I'd get it. like two
years ago, I got a text. Hey, uh, Andrew, any
angles on the wild card game? And then I'd hear
it on the Dan Patrick show three days later. Um, no,

I'm kidding. I'm kidding. You walked.

No, no. Ray and I, Ray and I texted often.
People probably do not know that. He would tell us

I like going to the back room, and Ray is
always in the middle of some sports debate, too, and

A lot of times I'm tempted to go bother Dylan
during the show.

You know, if anything, during the breaks, I'm actually pretty
much always just standing, just packing it.

One of the best parts about having McLovin back or

since mid June, early July and trying to avoid him
on camera because he would run into not blow the
surprise and run into the control room and say, I'm
going to go get coffee really quick. It's like, all right,

I was just going to add part of adding the
staff and, you know, again, not to reharp on it, but, like,
selecting the right people was, like, yeah, okay, great. Can

you play in a sport in college? You know, do you,
you know, so, and that's, like, like, Jack, for instance, like,
you know, played high school hockey.

Soccer, I think.

Yeah, and Morgan, who's, you know, been involved in sports.
There's just a lot of energy, so.

We were playing golf with him yesterday, and I was like,
what's it feel like to be 24 or 25? He's like,

had Jack in class probably three months ago, and I
didn't know much about him. He was a good editor.
I saw that he was talented and very skilled. And
I brought the opportunity to him. And now I feel
like I know a completely different person than that work,
you know, that was in my classroom at that time.

Our producer on Not So Fast, Scott Messina, he's young, too. Yeah.
He told me the other day he's the oldest person
in that room.

I'm like, how is that possible?

I mean, he's in his 30s, but he was laughing
about it. He's like, yeah, I'm usually the young guy
in the room, and now I'm the elder statesman. But
it's such a good group. I got to be honest,
I'm a little disappointed in one thing that I was promised.

Yeah. I was told that there was an elaborate sports
league going on at all times.

Yeah, your show screwed it up.

There was a lot of pickleball before I got here,
and I played twice. The first time, I haven't picked
up a pickleball racket in four years. I come in
the next morning, and I hear random people breaking down
the results. They're like, yeah, I heard Perloff had a
bunch of unforced errors, and I lost too good. I'm like,
so not only what you do play, it's fully reported
to everybody, and everybody talks about it.

Rumors on your pickleball game spread very quickly, and they
weren't very good.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Can we get Jack out here? I played much better
the next game.

Ray, I played better in the second game.

there was no food left for the talent. So, like,
for whatever reason, you were busy. You took, like, a
tiny plate. You're like, oh, don't worry. I'll go back
in 10 minutes and have some more food. And there's

was yummy, huh, guys?

Two old friends arguing about sports, but not in a
vehemently angry way. So Paul and I have a lot
of different takes. You guys know Paul's shtick pretty well
at this point. You know, small college football. He doesn't
try and be smarter than everyone. I'm going to be
trying smarter than everyone. I'm going against the grain. Not
so fast. So I have three hours. Well, you're doing
(13:23):
the Dan Patrick show. to think of every contrarian angle possible.
And I will share them.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Fade everything.

So it's going to be, you know, it's the opposite
of embrace debate. It's going to be debate where we
go at each other, but we keep it really friendly.
And it's going to be really fun. And there's going
to be a ton of action from the Dan Patrick show.
And anything that, you know, the fun and the chemistry
and the energy from the DP show, we want that
to sort of translate to Paul and I, but also
we're going to just like take elements from the DP

show and bring it here. So it's really, it's the
DNA of the Dan Patrick show. on its own, and
it's going to be really fun.

I love to do The Maggie and Perloff Show on
CBS Sports Radio in New York City for four years,
and then they ended the show and the entire network.
We killed not just the show. We killed the whole network.

Bring it down to the entire networks.

That goes on the mantle. Yeah, and you guys didn't
follow this, but the only interesting controversy about the network
was they actually made us change the name away from
CBS Sports Radio at the end to Infinity Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Yeah. Eric, do you even know this story?
Speaker 5 (14:52):
I know from the trades, but I don't know the inside.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
Well, basically, we do sports minutes, and somebody did a
sports minute where they basically said something. They referred to
a college basketball player as they wanted to see the
big Brazilian woman play. Do you guys remember this? Yeah,
from South Carolina. Yeah, Dawn Staley took exception to that line,
and she called the head of CBS and said, what's
(15:16):
going on here. And at that point, they decided, hey,
we're not going to call it CBS Sports Radio anymore.
We're going to call it Infinity Sports Radio. So that
was pretty controversial. But anyway, so I was doing a
radio show. And I got to tell you, I was gone,
but I feel like in many ways I was not
gone because people would talk to me about the Dan
Patrick show literally every day. And I would listen. And,
you know, I would do my show. Then I would
(15:38):
drive home and go to the gym and I'd listen
to the show. So I was... really engaged. I listened
to it on podcasts, actually. I was really engaged with
the show and everybody was texting me all the time.
So I was gone, but it wasn't like the cleanest
break ever, to be totally honest. Yeah, which in a
good way, like I think Dan wanted me to push,
(15:58):
he wanted me to do my own thing for sure,
but he always, he immediately welcomed me back. He's like, hey,
you know, wishing you luck, you know, inviting me to
Christmas parties. Like Dan was pretty welcoming back the whole time,
even when I was gone. I always felt very, I
saw you guys at Super Bowl, always felt incredibly welcomed.
It was always a whatever you need. So, yeah, that's

what I've been doing.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
What was your perspective of the Dan Patrick show as
an outsider?
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Oh, you guys have no clue. I'm telling you right now.
Maybe Dan knows, but I don't think so. You don't
know how popular the Dan Patrick show is. You don't
know how impactful it is. You don't know how people
talk about what happens on a daily basis here. Because
you're up here in Connecticut, you just have no idea.
I do. I had so many people come up to
me and say, did you see what happened yesterday on
(16:45):
the DP show? I'm like, you know, I had a
show too.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
But you should see what Fritzy said. He made up
a song about something. So it's talked a lot. I
think it's really hard to understand how the show sort
of plays out in the real world. But I saw
it a lot, and it was totally awesome. Because people
love the DP show. Okay.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
I think it's almost part of the charm. Like, if
this show was done in New York City or in L.A.
and you knew about the impact, I think that you
would lose... Like, it would become more pressure.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Like, because we're on this island and because it's just
a bunch of, to your point, mostly 20-somethings in the
back putting on a show, it feels very casual.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
And so as opposed to, like, if you were on
a stage... Like, I think about when we do the
shows in L.A. Like, the feeling is so different on stage.
Even the remote sometimes... feel more, like, official. There's, like,
more pressure. Versus here, it's like, not only is that
the set, but then as soon as the show ends,
I guess now at 1 o'clock, people are hanging out
on the simulator. They're grabbing a beer at the bar.
(17:45):
They're watching TV. And that would never happen on a stage.
And so I think that that adds a lot to it.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I'm curious, and Eric, you talked to Dan, like, do
you think Dan knows the, even at this point, I
know Dan has been at the highest, handed out the
Super Bowl trophy. Like, he's been in front of, Do
you think he understands the impact outside? Because I'm not
so sure all the time. So many people ask me
about Dan all the time. I know he knows, but
I don't know if he knows knows.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
I think he gets feedback one-on-one from people in the industry.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Yeah, but that's the thing. There's in the industry, of course,
but there's so many fans out there. You guys, we
take callers, we get tweets. There's so many more fans
that you don't know about.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
Yeah, well, and that's what you see, like, when it's
four in the morning and you're showing up on set
for a Super Bowl and there's already 50 people in line.
Or like when we were in Green Bay. And we
would show up at, I think it was 445. It
already closed the lineup. There was already like 300 people.
We only had 100 seats. And I'm like, this is wild.
(18:47):
And then people are like, oh, big German. They know everybody.
They don't only know.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
If you were like, Jimi Hendrix is back from the dead.
You just have to be there at 445 in the morning.
I'm not there. You might be up, though. If I
was up from the night before, I'm showing up.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
But I think that's something that we, I think, probably
not take for granted is Probably not the right word,
but I'll use it here, is how famous and how
big Dan and the show are. I think when we
go to Super Bowl, we hang out with Dan outside
of just being here. We golf with Dan. We'll get
beers with Dan. And we forget how famous he is.
People are coming up to him, and they're asking for

his autograph or pictures and stuff. I remember the first
time that I went to Super Bowl with him, we
went to Radio Row. We went to do Cam Newton's podcast,
or he went. He couldn't walk anywhere. You can't bring

Well, it's funny. When we first started, Eric, you were there.
And I'm like, Dan, I can do whatever you want
to help with the show, ideas, whatever. It is more
challenging logistically. I forgot how hard it is to put
together TV. There's a lot of work from 9 to 12.
I don't know. And I actually worry. Paul's been great
at double. That is actually, I don't know, to be honest.

We've got to get comfortable with not so fast, and
then I can answer. But, of course, anything the show needs. But, honestly,
today's show, I don't know. Where would I have even
jumped in? There was so much going on.

Yeah, I think that's a big distinction to make. Dan
Patrick and Dan has talked about this a lot. The
Dan Patrick Show is a TV show that we follow.
It's a radio show that we follow on TV. Not
so fast as a television show. It's going to get
distributed on podcasts as well, but it is primarily focused
on being a television show. So we need to have
video elements, graphics. Everything is extremely planned out and timed out.

Shepard way back in 2000 or something. And I thought
that you were supposed to constantly turn to the camera.

I didn't realize the cameras were turning to you. So
I'm doing a segment on the NBA or something, and
I'm looking around. I'm going from camera to camera. And
you could tell people, like, what the heck is this
guy doing? Can you imagine that? Because when you watch TV,
the head moves all the time. So I thought that
the talent was going from camera to camera. I didn't
realize the camera was going to the person.

If you watch, like, the nightly news, it's like all
of a sudden he shifts over here and then back
to this side.

How did you get into sports media entertainment? Because you're
a Dartmouth graduate.

Yeah. I was this close to going to law school.
this close. And I'd written for the school paper in college.
And a friend of mine was starting up a sports website.
And he's like, well, we have a copy editor job.
It doesn't pay anything. And I know you're going to
law school. I'm like, goodbye, law school. Hello, sports. And
then I worked for the NFL and kicked around Sports Illustrated.
I met Dan through Sports Illustrated. Okay.

we did like programming all week long yeah and I
would sit I would sit at the table at the
cafeteria with Paul Tagliabue Goodell I was around all those
guys who do you like better I like Tagliabue a

So we had a big announcement this week. We've been teasing,
kind of teasing this announcement on the 1215 Club for
the last month or so. It's been a lot of
work that's gone into this. Eric, you've put in a
lot of work to kind of get this jump started.
We started this. So we started not so fast. Andy's
back with us. He's going to be hosting a show
with Paul after the Dan Patrick show from 12 to 1.

What has it been like being back? You've been back
for about a month and a half now.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah.

Rehearsing and just hanging out with the guys and kind
of just getting back in the groove.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. It's been, it's so weird. I
walked in that door in mid-July and it felt like
I never left for a day. I don't know if
you guys felt like just seeing me walk around. It
felt like I was walking around like, oh, hey, what's up?
What's up, McLevin? What's up, Andrew? Like, I didn't feel
like anyone even noticed that I had been gone for
four years.

But it's been so fun. of course the show hasn't started,
so that's been a little easier, but it's just been
just like a, just a lot of fun. Um, yeah,
the energy is also, the energy is great here since, uh,
since I left, there's just a, I talked about this
in an interview the other day, you walk outside, there's
like nine different things going on. Not that there are,
weren't always like that, but now like the DP show

gamble studios right outside ours, there's just a lot of
activity and energy and it's awesome. Yeah.

Well, we've alluded to, or we've not alluded to, we've
specifically mentioned that we've hired a bunch of new people
and like, that was a part of the process of
finding new people, not only skilled people, people that would
fit in with the culture that we've built here, um,
over the last, the culture that Dan's built here over
the last 20 years, people who can do their work,
but also get along with each other and can shoot
the for lack of a better way of saying it. Um, what,

what was the Genesis of this show, Eric?
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah. Well, you know, working closely with Peacock and, and
thinking about what does the future look like with, uh,
you know, if Dan's not here, right? And so, and
that's kind of been my genesis the last six months
of like, you know, what are we doing? And that's
why we moved the podcast out here. We built a
(03:27):
new studio for Gamble and for Toddcast and, you know,
brought back the confessional and added to the staff. You know, we,
Dan and I, kind of like, okay, what are we
going to do? And so then at the same time,
just having a conversation with Peacock about the future and
that sort of thing, he's like, what about doing a
fourth hour of the Dan Patrick show? We're like, I

don't know about that.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
What was Dan's reaction to that?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I did not bring it to Dan. You didn't?

And so, I mean, he and I have since talked
about it. Yeah. Yeah, and so then I was like,
all right, but if that's a need and something that
they want, then what can we do? And so I
started working with Paul and immediately started thinking about Andrew
recently become a free agent.

This conversation started in February.

I think, in March or February.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Yeah. Well, internally, it was it was it was February.
And then, you know, it's quickly started talking to to Andrew.
And so, you know, there's it takes a long time
to do contracts and figure out distribution plans, all sort
of thing. And so really everything was solidified by middle
middle of June. and astute viewers may have noticed Andrew
(04:38):
at Lake Tahoe, and that was when we first started
ideating and working back together basically full-time.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, I mean, we had been doing some ideating before.
I was just thinking about something. One advantage, regardless of
Paul and I as talent or whatever, you can never
have another show that's 60 feet away from the Dan
Patrick Show studio. Sense of place informs a show, and
I think that was on your mind too, Eric. This
Man Cave... I've been gone for four years and I've
been in a bunch of different studios. There's nothing like this.
(05:06):
So it's like it's such a built in advantage to
be here and to say all the resources, not just technical,
just sort of the fact that I can go down
the hall. And for example, today I'm like, oh, we're
doing this thing on draftable quarterbacks. I'm like, Ray, you
have a list, right? And Ray goes, yeah, give me
five minutes. There's just so much going on here. I
think that kind of. I hope that it's sort of
like it's all part of one big sort of DP

show universe.

follow this, but the only interesting controversy about the network
was they actually made us change the name away from

Well, basically, we do sports minutes, and somebody did a
sports minute where they basically said something. They referred to
a college basketball player as they wanted to see the
big Brazilian woman play. Do you guys remember this? Yeah,
from South Carolina. Yeah, Dawn Staley took exception to that line,
and she called the head of CBS and said, what's

going on here. And at that point, they decided, hey,
we're not going to call it CBS Sports Radio anymore.
We're going to call it Infinity Sports Radio. So that
was pretty controversial. But anyway, so I was doing a
radio show. And I got to tell you, I was gone,
but I feel like in many ways I was not
gone because people would talk to me about the Dan
Patrick show literally every day. And I would listen. And,
you know, I would do my show. Then I would

drive home and go to the gym and I'd listen
to the show. So I was... really engaged. I listened
to it on podcasts, actually. I was really engaged with
the show and everybody was texting me all the time.
So I was gone, but it wasn't like the cleanest
break ever, to be totally honest. Yeah, which in a
good way, like I think Dan wanted me to push,

he wanted me to do my own thing for sure,
but he always, he immediately welcomed me back. He's like, hey,
you know, wishing you luck, you know, inviting me to
Christmas parties. Like Dan was pretty welcoming back the whole time,
even when I was gone. I always felt very, I
saw you guys at Super Bowl, always felt incredibly welcomed.
It was always a whatever you need. So, yeah, that's

What was your perspective of the Dan Patrick show as
an outsider?

Oh, you guys have no clue. I'm telling you right now.
Maybe Dan knows, but I don't think so. You don't
know how popular the Dan Patrick show is. You don't
know how impactful it is. You don't know how people
talk about what happens on a daily basis here. Because
you're up here in Connecticut, you just have no idea.
I do. I had so many people come up to
me and say, did you see what happened yesterday on

the DP show? I'm like, you know, I had a
show too.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.

But you should see what Fritzy said. He made up
a song about something. So it's talked a lot. I
think it's really hard to understand how the show sort
of plays out in the real world. But I saw
it a lot, and it was totally awesome. Because people
love the DP show. Okay.

I think it's almost part of the charm. Like, if
this show was done in New York City or in L.A.
and you knew about the impact, I think that you
would lose... Like, it would become more pressure.

Yeah.

Like, because we're on this island and because it's just
a bunch of, to your point, mostly 20-somethings in the
back putting on a show, it feels very casual.
Speaker 4 (17:23):

And so as opposed to, like, if you were on
a stage... Like, I think about when we do the
shows in L.A. Like, the feeling is so different on stage.
Even the remote sometimes... feel more, like, official. There's, like,
more pressure. Versus here, it's like, not only is that
the set, but then as soon as the show ends,
I guess now at 1 o'clock, people are hanging out
on the simulator. They're grabbing a beer at the bar.
(17:45):
They're watching TV. And that would never happen on a stage.
And so I think that that adds a lot to it.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I'm curious, and Eric, you talked to Dan, like, do
you think Dan knows the, even at this point, I
know Dan has been at the highest, handed out the
Super Bowl trophy. Like, he's been in front of, Do
you think he understands the impact outside? Because I'm not
so sure all the time. So many people ask me
about Dan all the time. I know he knows, but
I don't know if he knows knows.

I think he gets feedback one-on-one from people in the industry.

Yeah, but that's the thing. There's in the industry, of course,
but there's so many fans out there. You guys, we
take callers, we get tweets. There's so many more fans

Yeah, well, and that's what you see, like, when it's
four in the morning and you're showing up on set
for a Super Bowl and there's already 50 people in line.
Or like when we were in Green Bay. And we
would show up at, I think it was 445. It
already closed the lineup. There was already like 300 people.
We only had 100 seats. And I'm like, this is wild.

And then people are like, oh, big German. They know everybody.
They don't only know.

If you were like, Jimi Hendrix is back from the dead.
You just have to be there at 445 in the morning.
I'm not there. You might be up, though. If I
was up from the night before, I'm showing up.

But I think that's something that we, I think, probably
not take for granted is Probably not the right word,
but I'll use it here, is how famous and how
big Dan and the show are. I think when we
go to Super Bowl, we hang out with Dan outside
of just being here. We golf with Dan. We'll get
beers with Dan. And we forget how famous he is.
People are coming up to him, and they're asking for

his autograph or pictures and stuff. I remember the first
time that I went to Super Bowl with him, we
went to Radio Row. We went to do Cam Newton's podcast,
or he went. He couldn't walk anywhere. You can't bring
Dan to Radio World. You should have known that, Mario.
He couldn't walk anywhere. And the running joke for a
couple months after that was like, wow, you are famous, huh?
Because you kind of forget it. We're here in Milford, Connecticut.

Well, it's funny. When we first started, Eric, you were there.
And I'm like, Dan, I can do whatever you want
to help with the show, ideas, whatever. It is more
challenging logistically. I forgot how hard it is to put
together TV. There's a lot of work from 9 to 12.
I don't know. And I actually worry. Paul's been great
at double. That is actually, I don't know, to be honest.

We've got to get comfortable with not so fast, and
then I can answer. But, of course, anything the show needs. But, honestly,
today's show, I don't know. Where would I have even
jumped in? There was so much going on.

Yeah, I think that's a big distinction to make. Dan
Patrick and Dan has talked about this a lot. The
Dan Patrick Show is a TV show that we follow.
It's a radio show that we follow on TV. Not
so fast as a television show. It's going to get
distributed on podcasts as well, but it is primarily focused
on being a television show. So we need to have
video elements, graphics. Everything is extremely planned out and timed out.

you could tell people, like, what the heck is this
guy doing? Can you imagine that? Because when you watch TV,

the talent was going from camera to camera. I didn't
realize the camera was going to the person.

How did you get into sports media entertainment? Because you're
a Dartmouth graduate.

Yeah. I was this close to going to law school.
this close. And I'd written for the school paper in college.
And a friend of mine was starting up a sports website.
And he's like, well, we have a copy editor job.
It doesn't pay anything. And I know you're going to

then I worked for the NFL and kicked around Sports Illustrated.
I met Dan through Sports Illustrated. Okay.

would sit I would sit at the table at the
cafeteria with Paul Tagliabue Goodell I was around all those
