Oh I got flooding that black art all around here.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
So how was the How was the Turkey Day holiday?
Did you dive into some bird?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
I did? I did twice.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
In fact, we did it earlier in the week because
we would be running around, chasing around watching my daughter
sit the bench for Oregon and and then then we're
going to turn back around and have some leftovers with
men man on the bench on Saturday. So this has
just been a it's just been it's been a bench
(02:36):
tour for me. But it's all about the support. It's
not about the play in time, it's about the support.
So yeah, so there's that. In between the traveling. We've
done the Thanksgiving meals so that we could kind of
all sit down. Man came in from from State College
last night for a few hours to get some food
(02:57):
and get some family time. So that was pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
It was cool. It's it's been a good, good holiday.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
What about yourself, Well, yeah, we just you don't hung
out with the in laws kind of uh, you know,
just stuffed our face a little bit.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
And that was that.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
I eat what was on the menu? You know, did
y'all jump into bird?
Speaker 6 (03:15):
Yeah we did the bird? Did some ham?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Did?
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Did y'all do some pig? Already answered it? Pig, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Yeah, I mean but you know, it's a little bit
I think you were trying to say that what are
you trying to say an actual pig sitting on the
table that we've got to like, you know, like sift through.
Like no, now, that's every other day of the year.
(03:45):
Mexican culture they do it different, you know, from time
to time.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
But I know, I know.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
The Italians don't make it through all of the you know,
all of the courses of meals before they get to
the turkey, and then they're full before the turkey. Not
my words, as Dean Blandino saying, So, I don't know,
I just figure you would say that.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Through too Many's or something.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
The food is fantastic. The food was fantastic. But I
was shocked because it did feel like a home game.
I'm looking around, going where's the where's the sauce?
Speaker 3 (04:19):
It was like a home game.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
What's the hey, Zarah, where's the tartilla maker?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
That thing's away a minute, Mac and cheese?
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Wait a second, wait and you guys have maize you
guys mac and cheese too.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Damn all these yees. No you did right there, No
you did not. I appreciated news.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Hey, I'll be half of my family yours totally. So yeah,
it felt like, well, you know, growing up.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
I'm sweet.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
But it is Tomali season, so that'll that'll start. Yeah,
it'll start. It'll they'll start throwing it down here pretty quick.
So so there is that.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
Hey, I was thinking about something watching.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
The uh, the game just starting, you know, backwards, uh,
from the last game to the early game. I'm watching
the Bengals and the Ravens, and something occurred to me.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
You and I? What was it?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
You and I on two pros and a cup of
joe whch You can hear before the Dan Patrick Show
weekday mornings here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
You and I.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
We both had the Ravens going to the Super Bowl,
and it occurred to me last night watching that game,
they kind of stink. They're really not They're just got
very good.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
They're not good anymore. What happened, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
We just talked about there shouldn't be enough defense in
the world for for Sincey to be able to win
in Baltimore against that offense. Not enough defense in the world,
let alone Cincinnati to go in there and do it.
There you go, Yeah, it's just it's the it's the
(06:12):
Joe Burrow effect though, like he's like everybody's kryptonite, you know,
That's what it is.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
And the thing is and look, I don't know that
Joe Burrow. Look, obviously it doesn't help their defense. And
that's really been the problem for Cincinnati. As we've laid
out on our show that Joe Flacco's played well like
it wasn't like he was struggling while he was in there.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
But he's not Joe Burrows.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
The Joe Burrow impact, the effect, Yes, yes, that's a
real thing. Okay, let me ask you this, if you
were if you were going into a game with I
don't know, just say it's a really good ball player
that's backing up Kobe Bryant, or a really really good
(06:55):
ballplayer that's backing up Michael Jordan. And you go into
the game knowing that MJ or Kobe is out of
the game. Do you feel the same way? Do you
have the same type of confidence level that you would
if And maybe you don't know this, I don't know.
Maybe you got to be an athlete to know. But
you can assume, right, assume you can assume what.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
What do I going to be frager? But point here's
the point, point taking.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
But here's the point, right, all seriousness, You're going to
have more confidence when you have your best player on
the field, and especially at the main position. If you
have your guy at his position, they know Joe Burrow
as the guy that took them to the super Bowl.
They know Joe Burrow is the guy that should be
(07:55):
a League MVP probably last year, if not for you know,
the heroics of you know, other guys, which I mean
it is what it is, all right, but that that
does have a positive, profound impact on the rest of
your team.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
When you have.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
The guy like you know, Lat's back, Lat's back, like
you know what I mean? It definitely does have an impact.
And clearly that's a thing because they lose games. They what,
they've only won one game without Joe Burrow. When Joe
burrows out, they've won like one game, one or two games.
I believe it's one. So I mean, it's a real thing.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
And that was it, and that was one of the
storylines going into the year for Zach Taylor. And then
was the starts to the season, because that's that had
always been an issue. They would get off to these
poor starts. Their record in September was awful, and they
didn't be scrambling in this mad dash to try and
make the postseason like they were last year. And that's
why they've missed a couple of years in a row.
That in his health and so this year, what we're
(08:55):
gonna have him play in the preseason. We're gonna make
sure we come in and there's not a lot of rust.
They come in, they start off the year two and
zero and you're thinking, all right, well, at least the
plan worked, and then he gets hurt and then they
just went in this downward spiral. Joe Burrow after the game,
talked about his return last night in Baltimore had to knock.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
Some rust off there in the first half, so I
expect myself to play better.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
But it was great to be back out there.
Speaker 7 (09:21):
I was, you know, a lot of emotions running through
it at the end of the game.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
So it's just good to be back with the guy.
Speaker 7 (09:27):
You know, anytime you can get a big win like this,
it's it's exciting, and guys work really hard for this.
You know, we are where we're at with our record,
but guys work really hard to go out and put
on good performances on Sunday. So when you're able to
do that, it feels good.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
I mean, they would need some things to fall their way,
but there's a.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
Lot of pressure on them to try to get in there.
I mean, but think about it, if they if they
went out they get in. That's a lot of pressure.
But at the end of the day, I don't I know,
you're going to go into like scenarios like what needs
to play out for them to be able to make
a playoffs. Just win, just win, just keep winning. There's
(10:09):
enough games left that if they just keep winning, if
they go on a tear and take over the second
half of the season, which is very, very possible, right
this be Bengals team has so much talent. Talent on it.
They didn't even have Jamar in this game. Like think
about that. Yeah, they didn't even have him and they
still go out there and serve up an ass whipping.
(10:32):
Didn't even have their their main receiver. So you get,
you get hendrickson back. I'm assuming he'll come back and
and and continue to be healthy.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
You you'll get your You'll get some elements of your
defense as a better defense moving forward, you'll have your
your weapons on offense. They might take over the second
half of this season and could be a team to
beat heading into the postseason. They could very well storm back,
(11:02):
just based around the idea that that the Steelers will
give away a game. The Ravens they're giving away games.
I mean, I don't know if we call it give
it away. I don't Again, they don't look like they're
a very good team. And the Steelers, I know they
play without Aaron Rodgers, but the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers'
injury can't you know, get rectified to the point of
(11:25):
where he's comfortable.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I don't know how that all works out. What is
you know how that works?
Speaker 5 (11:30):
But This is not the same team without without Aaron Rodgers,
and I don't know how good they are down the stretch, honestly,
if they're running game isn't isn't up to standard of
what a stealer running game should be heading down the stretch.
So it aligns for Cincinnati to be able to not
(11:52):
only climb back into it, they could take it over
and win it. They could win the AFC nor because
it's not a very competitive strong AFC North this year.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Yeah, And I mean, they've got a couple of division
games left. They've got Baltimoregan and then they've got the Browns.
They're three and one in the division. They've got the
best record in the division. So it's look, it's a
long shot. But if they do go on this run,
because they're at Buffalo coming up next week, and we've
seen look the Bills.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
Yeah, the Bills have not left.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
That's look. Ye, they're the same.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
So if if they were to go on this run,
and let's just say, you know, for hypothetically speaking, they
get into the postseason, they're that's a problem because that's
a team with you know, and we'll get into the
Kansas City conversation as well, but that's a team who
gets into the AFC playoffs and all of a sudden,
(12:45):
I think they've got the best quarterback in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
And receiving ten Yeah, outside of Dallas, which I know
we're going to get into that. Outside of Dallas, who
has a better, more loaded receiving corps.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
No, nobody, nobody.
Speaker 5 (13:03):
So I mean they could potentially, like I said, if
they catch fire this second half of the season and
they stay healthy and you know, they have a they've
had enough things not go their way, they have a
few things go their way, this Cincinnati team becomes a
real interesting prospect, a real interesting horse. Do you put
(13:25):
your money on moving down the stretch of who's going
to finish out? They have, they have the ability, they
have the experience, they have the understanding of how good
they can be because they've made it to the super Bowl.
So and they are one of the teams that have
proven that that Kansas City kind of before now that unbeatable,
(13:47):
that unpenetrable Kansas City team, they can be beat. That
was Cincinnati that was proving that. Yeah, So to me,
it's an interesting conversation because they can get on a run.
It was confirmed that Joe Burrow can make the difference
in how this team carries out a game plan. Whether
(14:08):
he plays defense or not doesn't matter. It's the impact
and the energy of knowing that you have your guy back,
and all we got to do is step our level,
will play up. We step our level up, then it's
going to go up for the rest of us as well.
And Joe's going to do what he needs to do.
And that's exactly what you saw happen in this Ravens game.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Now, the Ravens conversation is a separate one because Baltimore, look, yeah,
there's something off. John Harbaugh, the head coach of the
Baltimore Ravens, was asked about potentially maybe health being an
issue for Lamar Jackson and had this to say, I
just think.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
He tried to do the best you can from play
to play, in game to game to execute and make.
Speaker 6 (14:49):
Plays fully healthy, fully healthy.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Yeah, he's fully healthy to play. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
So that's more like, man, we're just trying to to
get through it. You know, he's always on the injury report.
There's always something that pops up. They just don't look
good man. And if we're being fair about the situation,
like the Joe Burrow's been out for a significant amount
of time. The conversation about the defense is one thing.
We're now two thirds of the season in you kind
(15:19):
of are what you are at this point rights, as
the great Pete Prisco would say, you are what you are.
And Baltimore's just they look like a mediocre football team.
And I know they've been on a little bit of
a run lately, but last night was was alarming. They
were a seven point favorite at home on a short
week against we took them. I think I might have
(15:42):
taken Cincinnati. I think you really Yeah, I got to
look into that, but I mean it was a lot
of points. I said, well, you know, listen, I'll ride
the momentum of Joe Burrow, But I mean I didn't
think it was going to look like.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
That, did you, money Line the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Probably not, if I'm being honest, probably not.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
I just where we're at right now in the season.
I am so fed up with people disappointing the idea
that the good teams get better and the bad teams
are very wildly inconsistent. I thought we would see a
wildly inconsistent game from the Bengals, and we would see
(16:23):
a Baltimore Ravens team continue to apply themselves and bring
a level of play that says they're getting themselves into form.
For what's taking place, the interview points that you hear
from Harball, the things that you see take place with
this team, the conversation surrounding them is largely in part
(16:45):
they are a very inconsistent football team. That's not the
type of team that can ride any type of momentum
into a postseason aspiration to try to win a Super Bowl.
That's what the Baltimore Ravens are right now. Why are
they team? It's very perplexing. I don't know. I don't
know who has the answer for it. But the question
(17:07):
to me becomes, where is Harball as a coach in
his tenure.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
With this group?
Speaker 5 (17:14):
If this is all you can get as a result
from your team, I think it raises a lot of
red flags if I'm moving forward in terms of what
has we keep asking the question about the Buffalo Bills.
Have they hit their ceiling? Every single week? Have they
hit their ceiling? Have they hit their ceiling? I gotta
(17:35):
ask the question, have the Baltimore Ravens hit their ceiling.
That's gotta be the number one question coming out of
that game yesterday because there's really no apparent reason as
to why you could come to a strong, positive conclusion
that the Cincinnati Bengals would have a decisive, dominant victory
(17:57):
over the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
If you like, if you would have told me that
a Cincinnati went in there and they squeaked one out
on a field goal late Evan McPherson hit a you know,
fifty plus yard field goal and they win that game.
Oh man, you know big. But it's like, hey, but
you made the point earlier. That was a beating last night.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
That was a beat.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
That game was like they like Cincinnati fed them their
ass on national television for everybody to watch, and it
looked like a shell of what the Ravens were last year.
The Lamar's not looked that bad in a long time.
And it was just turning the ball over, no answers,
They just they stopped running the It's you've got all that.
(18:38):
I know this, and there's been injuries and there's been
all this stuff and key players have been out on
defense for there. I get all that, but you still
do have Lamar Jackson, like you still do have talent there.
It's not like it's not like you were down your
number one wide receiver like the Bengals were, and that
game wasn't close. Like if Cincinnati converts, you know, instead
(18:58):
of kicking field goals, if they you know, convert a
couple of more touchdowns and Joe Burrow isn't working through
the rust, who the hell knows what that game looks like?
Like that was that was an ugly performance. And yeah,
I do wonder at what point because you know, it's
the same thing about Mike Tomlin. It's the same thing
about you know, Sean McDermott. It's like, man, there's been
a lot of success there, but it hasn't quite gotten
(19:22):
to Super Bowl yet, Like it hasn't quite gotten to Hey, well,
you know they lost in a super Bowl and you're
not hearing any of that stuff about you.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
Know, Andy Reid, you're not hearing.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
But for some reason, the Ravens don't look the same,
the Bills don't look it just something's off there, man.
And I just wonder, with Lamar's mobility and the way
his style of play, you know, when do we start
having the discussion. Has he peaked as well too, because
he's taken a lot of damage. He's been out there,
(19:52):
and those hits add up, and I'm just wondering if
where at the point in his career where the athletic
ability can't carry him the way maybe it did in
previous years. I don't want to overreact, but that did
not look good, and this season hasn't looked good for
that team.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
You could call it an overreaction at this point to
have criticisms towards any aspect of the Ravens team or
their game right now. I don't think anything is off limits.
Maybe hambling, maybe that might be it. But otherwise I
(20:31):
think they're they're all what.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Not what what? Nothing but nothing.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
You know, We're just having you know, just having conversations
with the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
It's all, you know. Oh, I don't know, this feels
like a setup.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
No, it's not. It's not not a setup, is it.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
I mean, I just I just was wondering if maybe
there's there's something else going on there, you know, like
maybe you know, maybe you know, justin Tucker put some
sort of a hecks on the Oh. I'm just saying,
you know, like one of those neon lighte heckses.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
Like you're gonna come after me. I'm asking the question.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
I'm trying to get some answers here, and I got
to know what's going on there in Baltimore, that's all.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
So you're saying he has to cleanse the facility of
this possibly happening on the road at the facility.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I mean, you know it's possible. Yeah, I just know.
I wouldn't know.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
I got an extensive background on people being inappropriate in
locker rooms.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
You know, Yeah you do, there, you do.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
I didn't know, bitches, but but yeah, I didn't know.
Don't don't text me up after the show, so you knew. No,
I didn't know. I was totally unaware. It's over clear
on that.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
But yeah, it's that they have not look good all year,
and so I don't I know, there's still the overwhelming
favorite to win that division, just because somebody's got to
win that division.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
But I it's the inconsistencies for me, man, Like they're
all inconsistent. Every less one of them are inconsistent. There's
no way to put a tag on any of those
AFC teams, no way, like I'm curious to see what
Shador does on Sunday because even the Browns are in
(22:22):
the conversation.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
That's crazy. All four teams are in the conversation.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
As poorly as they have done, they could all be
in the conversation. Maybe the Browns don't make the playoffs
based on where they're at, but they can make a
run for it. And imagine what that conversation is if
they go on to tear with Shador at quarterback. So
so now Stefanski may.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Save his job. Boom, here you go.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
You go into an offseason with the momentum of what
Shador Sanders has done as your starting quarterback. You got
one of the best defensive ends, might break the record
on he's on record watch for most sacks in the season.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
And Miles Garrett. You have pieces.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
Now you instead of going for a quarterback with that
top pick, go after a receiver.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Go after a couple receivers in your draft.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
Go after some offensive linemen that can be like anchor
offensive linemen for the future of your team. Go for
those aspects. And now you have a lot of excitement
building around the Cleveland Browns. You look at Cincinnati, Cincinnati,
all they need to do is address their defense. That's
all they need to do. And now they're they're right
(23:40):
on their way. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens
may have the biggest questions surrounding them moving into the
future out of any of the other teams in the
AFC North, and they're the ones on top of the
AFC North, which is very interesting because how much time
do they have?
Speaker 3 (23:58):
How much do you have? How much time do you
have in.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
Pittsburgh before you really see what this roster really truly is?
How much time do you have in Baltimore before you
see what this roster really truly is?
Speaker 3 (24:12):
How much time do you have?
Speaker 4 (24:13):
And also look at if you're Cincinnati, like you know,
last night, you're out there dealing and Joe Burrow's working
off rust and t Higgins is out with the concussion
and all that, Like you get him back, Joe Burrow's
got a game under his belt. I'm telling you, he's
the best quarterback in the division in my mind, and
it's not close like at this he's the best quarterback
(24:36):
in the division, especially with Lamar's health and all that.
If they like, if he's got his full compliment, I
know it's thirteen to one on DraftKings for them to
win the division. I just I'm looking at it going
maybe it is possible. I don't know, maybe it is posibly,
and then that being said, they could come out, they
get their full compliment of weapons around Joe Burrow and
(24:58):
they get annihilated next week.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
I mean, it's just it's one of those things. It's
inconsistent as hell, but it's the AFC North.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
So I think it makes it.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
I think it makes it very interesting moving into moving
into where we're going, because it is they are. They
have been such amazing team, such amazing franchises for the
National Football League, for the AFC. They've built the reputation
of the AFC North. I mean, all these teams have
(25:29):
built the reputation of the AFC North, but the Pittsburgh
Steelers and the Ravens have been the gold standard of
the division and they've been a gold standard for the
National Football League as well. It's interesting to see where
these teams, if that that legacy, if that tradition that
they've built through the years. The decision makers that are
(25:51):
in play now, because there are different different decision makers
at the GM's positions that aren't historically a part of
the successes of this these teams, these franchises. Can they
right the ships, can they get these teams going in
the right directions? And how much time is it going
(26:13):
to take for them to be able to do it?
It seemed as though Pittsburgh may have pulled a fast
one on us. They got out to the type of
start that would make you consider that the steps that
they took this offseason weren't worth looking at and criticizing.
I know, I was very critical. It looked as though
they got off to a different type of start. But
(26:36):
you know, to me, now, I don't know, man. I
don't know about the Pittsburgh Steelers, And I don't know
about the Baltimore Ravens, and and I don't know that
there's any indicator other than saying, for Baltimore you have
Lamar Jackson. But you asked a question that's a very
legitimate question. Has he hit his ceiling?
Speaker 4 (26:54):
I just yeah, I don't. I don't know, man. There's
something off there. There's something off with all of them.
But it's fun, you know, it is fun to discuss
the AFC North. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe in for the Dan Patrick Show. Here on
Fox Sports Radio, it's Lebar Arrington and Jonas Knox in

they might have been right. Find out who they are

It's a Dan Patrick Show here Fox Sports Radio. Leaviar Arrington,
Jonas Knox in for Dan and the guys. We'll be
doing something that we do on Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe, which you can hear weekday mornings before
the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio called
In case you missed it, that will be yours coming
up here in about fifteen minutes from now. But right now,
it is time for the tire Rack Play of the day.
Speaker 9 (29:03):
Urnight Prescott back slant Todny Pickens spins away from the
defender first down, heads to the right side.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Sprints down the sideline hurdles of man. Oh the way.
Speaker 9 (29:14):
Down inside the ten to the six. There you are, George,
you were hiding and you come out.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
To play Cowboys Radio Network on the call. That is
your tire ract play of the day. For over forty years,
tire Rack's been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and freeback by
free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation tire rack dot Com the way tire
buying should be. So you'd mentioned wide receiver duos in
(29:42):
the NFL. We didn't get to see the full compliment
yesterday of Jamar Chase and t Higgins with Higgins out
with the concussion, but we did get to see George Pickens,
who was quiet, as they point out in the call
for most of the game.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Ceede Lamb and I was Warriors refferts right now. I mean,
did you catch that thuriors.
Speaker 6 (30:04):
Man Dallas and play.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Oh, they came out and play.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
They're not a.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Dallas came out and played.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
Now, they're not bad man.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I know, two wins in a row.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Yeah, As Tony Romo, uh sifted through whatever that performance
was he gave yesterday.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
I mean, he's a homer. Homer. He didn't.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
He did point out it was probably something he stole
from Jim Nantz's notes, but he did point out, uh,
yesterday that the Cowboys in the span of four days
beat the last two teams that were in the Super Bowl. Yeah,
I mean it look, it's something I don't know if
it results in a playoff spot. I don't know if
it results and in Dallas making a you know, making
(30:50):
a run at this thing. I'll h potentially Cincinnati. But
the defense looks better and they've slowly gotten better and
better throughout the course of the year, and the offense
has been you know, clicking for majority of the season.
I mean, Dak Prescott's been fantastic and uh, and Dallas
with another big win, another big win. Who needs Michael Parsons,
(31:11):
you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Like, well, Michael Parsons is doing what he needs to
do where he's at as well, by the way, Uh,
but that doesn't mean that one has to be untrue,
you know, or one has to be yeah, right, one
has to be untrue for the other to be true,
you know what I mean? Like Micah is what Micah
is and they see the impact of that, and you
(31:33):
know Green Bay, but you can see the impact of
what decisions that have been made for for the Dallas Cowboys,
they wanted to shore up the center of their defense
and they did so. It's a it's a very very
stout interior defensive line for for Dallas. They feel like
(31:54):
they can get get away with it with with you know,
veterans like Clowney on the outside. It's worked. There's balance there,
They're they're getting solid play from the secondary, and like
we mentioned, Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level
this year. They don't have the type of running game
(32:15):
that that would say they should have the type of
success or balance as a total offense, which they've usually
led with the.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Run, but they were able to run.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
They they got a nice touchdown run out of I
forget the backs name, but tall back, fast back. They
had a nice run from him out of the run game.
But they have largely in part been able to cut
people up with their passing game and Pickens and Ceedee
lamb Are that's it. That's that to me, that is
(32:47):
the best receiver tandem in all of football. And it's
amazing that that Pittsburgh would get rid of him based
off of I get it, whatever it is that that
was going on there, they didn't want to deal with it.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
They unloaded it. I get it.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
But a DK Metcalf with Pickens is the best wide
receiver tandem in the National Football League. I'm wondering, what
is the common denominator here? Pickens is now in Dallas.
Dallas has the best receiving corps in all of the
National Football League. You would have had that in Pittsburgh
(33:27):
if you have Pickens with with who am I talking
about with DK Metcalf.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
Well, I think I don't know if they were going
to be able to make both both of those work.
I mean, they could get financially, but I think that
you know, Pickens had kind of run its run its
wes there.
Speaker 6 (33:43):
How Look, that's a fair question.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
This might be this might be the one receiver that
got away from the Steelers where you're like, man, maybe
you should have held on him. Like they've got a
history of knowing when to turn the page on receivers.
And maybe George Pickens is, you know, in a contract year,
so he's looking at this as an opportunity to get
paid and then he goes back to his old ways.
But he's awesome, man, Like he's like he's been awesome for.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
The girls, cowboy.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
If we're being honest here, like like here's a very
real moment. Okay, he I know the because he's a
draft pick to them and the emotional connection to Cede Lamb.
You'll say Ceedee Lamb is the main guy. I would
challenge you today and say that the main receiver, the
most dangerous weapon on that team is Pickens. It's Pickens,
(34:35):
then it's Ceedee Lamb. And I'm not trying to turn
this into a thing. I'm just telling you your your
most dangerous weapon on that team right now is George Pickens.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
Yeah, he's got a the Ceedee Lamb's the more consistent receiver.
But George Pickens has got some freak to him, Like
there's like he made like that will that play then
I don't me like that that play that I hate
that that play that he made where that we listened
to where he hurtled over the like I thought he
was going to take that to the house, and I
(35:09):
don't look Ceedee Lamb's a great wide receiver, is one
of the better wide receivers in the league. But George
Pickens does some things each game and he was doing
Look he did that in Pittsburgh where he would do
things in a game where he'd make a grab and
you go, how many guys in the league can do that?
And then two plays later, you know he's getting in
a fight like it's just but he's that, like he's
the perfect Cowboys wide receiver, George Pickens, like he's he's
(35:33):
perfect for that team.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
I think he Here's the interesting thing, right, George Pickens
and Pittsburgh. He you hear reports come out of the
locker room. You you hear little things said by the
head coach about, you know, conduct, how he needs to
take steps forward as a person, or whatever it is
(35:55):
that was being said. You hear former players that weighed
in and commented on George Pickens. And you know, dude
is a malecontent this, that, and the other. I haven't
heard one single thing after all. And mind you, Dallas
has no problem trying to create these storylines because they
(36:17):
did it to Michael Parsons.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
So let's not act as though it can't be. It
can't be.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
The environment that you're in, sometimes more so than the
player may be it makes me wonder it's the environment.
Was the environment toxic for Michael Parsons for them to
be talking about Michael Parsons? Was the environment toxic for
George Pickens to be talked about and handled the way
(36:45):
he was being handled in Pittsburgh. It doesn't mean that
you can't go to another place and be accepted and
received in a different way, in a different manner in
which where you came from. Doesn't mean that it's a
bad organization. Doesn't mean that Dallas is bad, even though
their record and they're you know what, it would say
that maybe they're not great. But with Pittsburgh, you're not
(37:07):
gonna say, Okay, this is a bad organization.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
They got it wrong with George Pickens.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
But there could be the possibility that they did not
get it right with George Pickens. Whatever it may have been,
there could have been something that was resolved. There could
have been some way to talk through it in the end.
In the end, they are pros and it's about production,
(37:31):
and that man was productive in Pittsburgh and now he's
super productive in Dallas. And you've not you've not heard
a word about about George Pickens in Dallas in terms
of him being cancerous in the locker room, him not
being about football, him being a malcontent, And the same
goes for the guy that departed Dallas. You haven't heard
(37:53):
anything out of any anybody or or any types of
reports in Green Bay with Michael Parsons. So sometimes it's
just a matter of having a new environment and having
a fresh start, and that's.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
What they did. But I'll tell you what you made.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
You got upset for Cleveland trading Joe Joe Flacco to Cincinnati.
You should be upset that you gave George Pickens a
way to any other team that had a number one
receiver of the caliber of a CD Lamb. Damn, that's
what you should have been upset with. While you give
while you get Dallas George Pickens, and they have Cede Lamb,
(38:30):
and they're gonna have both of those guys on the
same team.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
I know it's on the other side of.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
The division, but God dang, who cares you might have
to deal with them because of how good those two
are together on the football field.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
It is the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (40:34):
And good morning, guys. How we doing. We are good.
I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
Yep, thank you, I got you, buddy.
Speaker 11 (40:41):
But let's start with this in case you missed it.
Justin Jefferson was asked about the Vikings backup quarterback Max Brosmer,
who is set to start this week in place of
JJ McCarthy. He said quote, he's definitely a good QB
to be able to fit in with this offense and
create a spark for us. That's something we really need
right now. So a little bit of an indirect j
Abba JJ McCarthy, what do you think guys?
Speaker 6 (41:02):
I was being honest.
Speaker 5 (41:03):
It's tang like. I mean, that's kind of the only
way to interpret it, right. They need a spark, you know.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Have been great if justin Jefferson, they would have said,
he so, what's the what's your favorite thing about Max
Brosmer's like, oh, that he's not JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
That might have been the funniest thing that could have
been funny.
Speaker 6 (41:21):
Just to see. Because man, the JJ McCarthy thing that
is not going well.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
Where do you go after that?
Speaker 5 (41:28):
I don't know's the team if you if you want
to your players comes out and says that were where
do you go next?
Speaker 3 (41:34):
Where you where do we go from here?
Speaker 4 (41:36):
The other thing that I think it's lost in all
of it is because people point out, man, you decided
to move on from Sam Donald, and you decided to
move on from Donald, and what did Sam Donald do
since he's gotten to Seattle? They also decided to move
on from Daniel Jones too, like that he was also there,
like he signed with Minnesota, so it just it is
not gone. Well, I mean it's pretty early, but he
(41:58):
just hasn't been available. Also hasn't been able to stay
healthy and now he's out again with a concussion.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
So yeah, it's wild man, Oh wow.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
Riverside.
Speaker 11 (42:10):
Yeah, and it's like, well, Max Brosmer is the one
that you're saying creates a spark over mcargraphy.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
That's that's correct, That is correct. Anyway.
Speaker 11 (42:18):
Next up, Ryan Days pulling an interesting move ahead of
Ohio State's rivalry game versus Michigan. Here, he's decided to
have his team fly to Ann Arbor for the game,
as opposed to take the bus as they've historically done
for the matchup. Day said, the Buckeyes fly to their
other road game, so he wants to quote.
Speaker 6 (42:33):
Keep the routine, the routine, that's what it is. And
he knows the past.
Speaker 11 (42:38):
Four years hasn't worked, so he's trying to make some
adjustments here.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
But any old thing at this point, now.
Speaker 5 (42:45):
You better get it, you better get you better get
a professional hip hip.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Hip tazzler, go get it.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
What is the uh?
Speaker 3 (42:56):
You will wake up.
Speaker 6 (42:57):
Is missus Cleo still around? Is that well?
Speaker 3 (43:00):
That's that's that. I mean, that's more looking at your
your you know, your Toro card.
Speaker 6 (43:05):
Try anything at this point, I mean, I.
Speaker 5 (43:07):
Guess, I guess, am on, I tell you what happened
in the future for you, No no good things ahead
of you.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
It's Joe white Ass hasn't been them in five years.
Speaker 5 (43:24):
I don't I don't know what what what accent that
was Jonas and I didn't close that one. Oh okay,
all right, that was more like mister uh.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
I don't I don't know. That was not Cleo.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
That was I don't know what type of type of Yeah,
let's just go to break you.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
You ruined the bit
