dot com, search the Dan Patrick Show for details and
then on Friday May fifteenth, we will be here to
give away a Rectech grill. Say good morning if you're
watching on Peacock or the NBC Sports Network or listening
on our radio affiliates around the country. iHeartRadio, Fox Sports
Radio just to name a few. We'll have a pull

(00:47):
question today. Dylan will do the honors. We have Tyler
sitting by. He'll take your phone calls each seven to
seven three DP show Basketball last night, hold your horses
when it comes to the Spurs over the Timberwolves because
Anthony Edwards did come back, came off the bench and
surprise surprise as the Spurs at home lose in spite

(01:09):
of a triple double from Lemby. But it's a misleading
triple double. That's why not all triple doubles are the same.
Because while he did have twelve blocks, he was not
good offensively, did not make a three. And give credit
to Minnesota because the only way you're going to stop
or at least contain Wemby is to rough him up.

(01:31):
And I you know, in today's NBA, good luck trying
to get away with that. In the nineties, you'd be
able to do that, you'd be able to be really physical.
But you know, I've seen Julius Randall, I've seen Draymond
Green where they're physical with him, they get right up
right on him. He was zero for eight from three
point range. Give credit to Minnesota because you don't have

(01:53):
Dante Divencenzo coming off the bench. Anthony Edwards came off
the bench. I might have him come off the bench
game two as well. No need to put him in
there where he's gonna have to play thirty thirty five minutes.
Easy him in. You already stole one game on the road,
and you've got games coming up tonight. Cavaliers they are
getting three and a half against the Pistons, the Lakers

(02:16):
getting fifteen and a half against the thunder Wow. On Wednesday,
the seventy six Ers are getting six and a half
against the Knicks, And on Wednesday the Timberwolves are nine
and a half point underdogs against the Spurs. Back to
the Knicks. With what they did last night, they are

(02:36):
just blowing out people, and you're seeing a team that
has figured something out. They were down two to one
to the Hawks and something clicked. We'll talk to Reggie
Miller about that a little later on, but they're a
different team and Brunson at thirty five, they win it
comfortably one thirty seven to ninety three. And with the Sixers,

(02:56):
you just come off a grueling series seven games, you
beat Boston Ian Boston, and then a quick turnaround and
you face the Knicks, and the Knicks were ready for them.
I'm not sure. I mean, we've talked about Brunson and
Karl Anthony Town's lack of defense, but it doesn't matter
if you're playing the way they are. But Embeid, he

(03:19):
just labors. But it's deceptive. I guess it always looks like,
you know, Jim Brown used to do this. Jim Brown
was one of the great running backs of all time,
one of the toughest, most durable. Every time he got tackled,
he would get up as if it was the last
time he was going to be able to get up,
and you're thinking, that's the baddest guy on the football field.

(03:42):
But he always gave you the impression that, oh man,
that hurt, I'm going to try to get up and
come back to the huddle and then I'm gonna run
for twenty five yards the next time. With Embeid, it
really feels like he is laboring out there, and they
look tired and understandably, but you got a quick turnaround.

(04:03):
Now you're gonna play tomorrow night in the garden, and
those fans can sense it now because Boston's out. And
if you're a Nick fan, this is where you got
to caution yourself. You gotta be careful. Don't be taking
your shirt off too soon before you go outside on
Seventh Avenue. But it's in your head that this is

(04:24):
the year we're going to the finals. Because we can
beat Cleveland, and we can beat Detroit, and we can
beat Philly. We don't have to worry about anybody except ourselves.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yes, Marvin Knicks fans, don't you do it because this
happened to you guys last year when you guys beat
the Celtics. Man, all we gotta do is beat the
pacers and guess what. Tyre's halliburn but no, I know
belt to behind.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
For over forty years now, Tyre Rack's been helping you
find the right tires for howe and what and where
you drive ship fast and free back by, free road
hazard protection, convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, direc
dot com the way tire buying should be. We will
talk to the trainer for the Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo,

(05:11):
Cherie de Vaux. She was great TV after her horse
won a last to first ride and hill Join is
coming up next hour. So Cavs Pistons Game one, Lakers
at the Thunder Game one. I do find it interesting, entertaining,
and sometimes I marvel at this where the Mothership, in particular,

(05:35):
they always try to bring the cowboys into any story,
doesn't matter what it is. They want to have the
cowboys as part of the conversation on a daily basis.
Now I understand this because I know the playbook. I
was there for eighteen years. They also try to keep
alive the Michael Jordan Lebron James conversation. And I saw

(05:55):
it yesterday and by the way, I should take away
your media credential if you say a team does not
have a chance to win. I saw and heard this today.
The Lakers have no chance. They do have a chance.
You know who doesn't have a chance. The Pacers, they
don't have a chance. Orlando doesn't have a chance. The

(06:19):
Celtics don't have a chance. The Lakers have a chance. Now.
It could be a real small chance. But don't say
how many times does that come back to bite analyst experts.
They have no chance, they do have a chance. Now,
the fact that if Lebron could somehow beat Okay C

(06:41):
that would make him the best basketball player of all time.
He'd be doing that without Luca beating the defending champs.
I'm like, Lebron will never be better than Michael Jordan.
To a lot of people, it's never gonna happen. Lebron
could win the title this year, he still won't be
on the pedestal than Michael Jordan. People won't allow it.

(07:04):
But that doesn't stop people in my industry from trying
to keep this alive. As I've said many, many times,
greatest resume is Lebron. The greatest player is Michael. That's it,
very simple. Lebron is not going to be better than
Michael Jordan, end of the sentence, exclamation point, whatever you

(07:27):
want to put. But I did find it interesting when
somebody said, you know, if Lebron beats OKAYC and Man's
something Mike never did. Well, what do you mean by that?
Oklahoma City hadn't been invented yet, and so no, he
never beat OKAYC. He beats Seattle. It is funny though.

(07:51):
Now I've been in these rundown meetings what they're called.
So you you go in for a rundown meeting and
then you go and start writing the show at the Mothership.
At least this is the way it used to be.
So you sit around, you got all the producers, coordinating producers,
you have your director in there, the talent is in there,
and you're just going around talking about different stories and

(08:12):
different ideas. And back when I was there, you were
trying to incorporate Duke North, Carolina, Red Sox, Yankees, Mike
Tyson now rant and those are headline makers. But then
even when Duke and North Carolina aren't playing basketball, You're
still trying to bring them back into the equation. Or
the Red Sox and the Yankees. It's like, how do

(08:32):
we get them back into the show. And that's what
goes on now. Cowboys then Lebron slash Lakers guaranteed, maybe
a Caitlin Clark if you can. But I always find
it interesting of how you as soon as Caleb Downs
was drafted, I knew the next day the mothership would

(08:55):
go Are the Cowboys super Bowl contenders? Sure? Why not
not the other draft picks? It was Caleb Downs Cowboys
now super Bowl continking?

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Sure, I know? Eight seven seven three DP show email
address DP at Danpatrick dot com, Twitter handle at DP
show DP. The Thunder a huge favorite in the series
here minus sixteen hundred against the Lakers, but the Lakers

(09:30):
are fifteen and a half point underdogs tonight. I don't
think Luca. Now, there was video of Luca's shooting, but
I don't know if like how far away he is
from going through basketball drills. I just saw him shooting.
But that's encouraging. But you know, you're gonna have to

(09:50):
extend this to probably six games, maybe seven games if
there's any hope for Luca. I think the initial report
was he was not going to be able to be
ready for this series, but they may run out of
time trying to get him back, all right, Dylan, which
poll question for the first hour of the program.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
We got a few, Dan. This one's from Paulie. If
I'm a Knicks fan, I'm thinking about going to the
NBA Finals, or I'm doing my best to not think
about that at all.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
In any way, I don't think you can get it
out of your head. I mean, I think if you're
a Knicks fan, you're like, why not? You know, but
let's just start thinking big here, you know, don't deny it.
It's okay. I mean, ben Stiller is so confident he
went to the Met gallon instead of being front row

(10:42):
with Timothy in the Shallow Maize.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
Well, that's one of our other pole questions. Dan Is
ben Steller opting for the met Gala over the next
game is no big deal or week.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I didn't think that I would be talking about the
Met Gala this week. But Ben Stiller had the audacity
to skip game one the series against the seventy six
ers to take his wife to the Met Gallen, But
Timothy Shallome, he's a real nick fan. When did he

(11:20):
start getting front row seats? Was that when the Dylan
movie came out? Like there had to be something where
it's like, now you get front row seats.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Maybe Dune one.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Okay, yeah, uh, Well Ben Stiller didn't show up. He
went with his wife to the met Gallon. I was
thinking about that.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Is is the Metgala the most exclusive like event or
whatever membership, whatever you want to call it in the world.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I don't know what happens there, I guess, but once
you walk in with your outfit, what happens when you
get inside.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Well there's no photography, Like I don't think anyone's ever
seen a picture of the party inside, which means it's
probably pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
But you just sit around at tables and admire what
everybody's I don't know what the met galo is all about.
I know that the big thing is when everybody walks in,
but I don't know what happens after that. Is it
like fight club? Like they're not allowed to tell you. Yeah, okay, yeah, pony.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
It's the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, costume institute and fundraiser,
and it's one hundred thousand dollars per seat and you're invited,
but you also have to pay, and they work it
out for some celebrities. But it's a huge fundraiser that's
been going on forever, and costumes are encouraged as you enter.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Okay, but this was Jeff Bezos and his wife who
I think are hosting this. Beyonce was also one of
the code shares or something. But one hundred thousand dollars?
How do they decide who pays one hundred thousand and
who doesn't or who pays fifty thousand and not one

(13:08):
hundred thousand? Checking and what do you get out of that?

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Like crabcakes?

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:13):
I don't know. Is there a concert? Is there? Like
anybody hosting that? Do you just walk in and sit
at your table and then mill about as they like
to say, Yes, Paul.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
Every year inside there is a theme, so it has
a different theme and look inside it from year to year.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Okay, but what do you do when you go in there?

Speaker 6 (13:32):
Drink and talk to people?

Speaker 5 (13:33):
I think it's official Illuminati business then orovile?

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Yes, un And like you were saying, once everybody sees
you in your outfit, which looks a lot of times
very uncomfortable and do or pretentious. Can you put on
sweats at a T shirt? Now that everybody got a
good look at you and took those initial photographs, now
you're be able to be comfortable.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
But Timothy shallow May's girlfriend, Kylie Jenner went to the
met Gala. Yes, Dylan, do you think there.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
Was an argument about that at all? When they're a leave,
they're both about to, you know, walk their.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Separated park av No, but this is what one really loves.
I don't think Kylie Jenner wants to go to the
Knicks game. I think she wants to be seen at
the Knicks game. She's there with her boyfriend. She could
act like, you know, she knows what's going on. But
he's there because he's grew up in New York. He's
a diehard Knicks fan. She is more comfortable to met gala. Yes,

(14:26):
I think we give Ben Stiller a hall pass. Born
in New York City, sixty years old. He's been attending
Knicks games for at least thirty years, and he wants
to take his wife to an event for game one.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
This was at game seven. I think you give the
guy the hall pass. He's not a newcomer, he's not
a bandwagon guy.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Well, I'm not a Knicks fan, so it doesn't matter
to me. I just found it interesting that Knicks fans
were I don't know if they were divided. It felt like,
how could he not be at the game, Like this
is our year, this is more important than a met gala.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Yes, Mart said the operative term Knicks fans, those aren't
the most you know stable Okay, yes, Stable's the word
I wanted to.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Say, Yes, Todd.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
I won't to know if there was any argument or
even discussion at all between Ben Still and Christine Taylor
about like, I know, we had this plan for a
few months, but it just worked out to me. My
next game one at the Garden. It's like, you know,
I really like to go to the game, and she's like, no,
you're coming with me. You're keeping your word, just taking
me to the Metdal.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
You know, he probably thought, you know what, we planned this,
so we're going. I'll be there for all the other
home games. I'm sure he'll be there on Wednesday night, Yes, Mark.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
And there's no refund on one hundred thousand dollars a plate.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
If he if he spent that, I did see him though,
when he was walking in with his wife and the
photo opportunity. I think he said Nixon six, so he was.
He was still there in spirit with the Knicks. Yes, Mark, he.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Had the orange tie too, orange and blue yenna. He
still he's loyal to the soil.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, loyal to the soil. Correct. Okay, that's new to
the show. Yes, Tome he.

Speaker 7 (16:06):
Wore a very basic suit, like it wears you when
you're getting bond mitsfit or something like that with the Native.
So basically, I guess my question is, and maybe it's
more of a women thing, but guys get dressed up
crazy too. You're expected to dress really right wildly for that.
So are you looked upon as anything? But if you're
just kind of dressed like Plaine, like you're going out
to dinner, which is how Ben still looked at the
met galap.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I don't know, did it bother you?

Speaker 4 (16:29):
No, it didn't.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
But I feel like there's pressure on men and especially
women that they have to, you know, dress a certain
crazy wild way like it's Halloween or something, and if
you don't, they'll probably be whispering like you could wear
that like any night.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
This is the met gal ar, you gotta be crazy.
And then I saw Stevie Nicks, legendary Stevie Nicks walking
in and it looked like you probably could have had
the seven Dwarfs underneath her skirt. It is so big
like you could have you could have snuck somebody in.
Her dress was huge. I'm just saying the skirt or whatever. Yes, yes,

(17:04):
I've got the photo here. Ben Stiller wore Knicks colors
to the met Galach. He wore a medium to dark
blue suit and orange. If he would have worn the
old Patrick Ewing high top Adidas with his suit knee pads,
that would have been great. That would have been nice
wristbands too. Patrick Ewing, all right, let me take a break.

(17:24):
When we come back, Paul has a quick NBA quiz.
We'll have our poll options as well. The trainer for
the Kentucky Derby winner will join us. Reggie Miller will

Speaker 2 (18:19):
NBA title odds from DraftKings, Thunder big Favorites, Then it's
the Spurs, and then it dips down to the Knicks.
So the two best teams right now, best chances to
win the title Thunder minus one fifty five. The Spurs
were plus three seventy yesterday yesterday now plus four to
seventy five. Then you have the Knicks plus eight fifty.

(18:41):
Then it dips down to the Pistons, the Timberwolves, Cabs, Lakers,
the seventy six ers. Seventy six ers were plus four
thousand yesterday now plus six thousand. For entertainment purposes only,
All right, quick NBA quiz from Paulie. Oh you got
music as well? Okay, great song, Here we go.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Victor Webbanyama is the third player to have a playoff
triple double including blocks as one of those since blocks
became an official stat in seventy three. So can you
name the other two players? And would you like a hint?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
A kim Olijawan A.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
Kim Olaijuan's correct, nineteen ninety.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
And then there's one other.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
There's one other and it's pretty obscure.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Nate Thurman.

Speaker 6 (19:30):
No, it's in the this century.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
What year?

Speaker 6 (19:36):
I'm not going there yet, Okay, but a pretty shocking name.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I think I know who this is. Andrew Binham.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Andrew Bidam is correct. I still don't believe it.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
I remember because I should remember that Andrew Biden had
a triple double including blocks, because he might be one
of the last centers that you would think would be
able to do this. Yes, Paul.

Speaker 6 (20:10):
In April of twenty twelve, Lakers versus the Nuggets, Western
Conference game one of the first round, he snuck into
the stat with ten points, thirteen rebounds, and a career
high ten blocks.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I'm sure Will Chamberlain did this many, many, many many times.
I'm sure Bill Russell did it many many many times.
Willis Reid many many times. But the fact that they
didn't start counting blocks until nineteen seventy three, that's wild.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Yes, Paulie, going back to Andrew Bidham for a second,
that feels like a career that was mismanaged. He got there.
He was twenty two years old for the Lakers averaging
fifteen and I'm sorry check that he was twenty four
years old averaging nineteen and twelve. Then he got injured.
He was getting there.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Yeah, I think Kobe was pretty tough on him, trying
to get the best I know, trying to get the
best out of him. I saw a story yesterday and
I think Gilbert Arenas might have been talking about this
or he confirmed the story that Michael Jordan's last year
with the Washington Wizards, the coach went around to all

(21:26):
the players and asked if they wanted to chip in
for a going away present for Michael Jordan. Nobody offered
up any money to give Michael Jordan a going away present.
I guess not well liked in the locker room there
at the end of his career. One of those things

(21:48):
to be Michael Jordan, when you're with the Bulls and
you're the best player in the world and then all
of a sudden, you're not the best player in the world,
and now you're probably belittling berating your team mates. Yeah,
pol that story is confirmed. The former Wizards GM wes
Unseld Yeah, did an interview with The Washington Post and
said that Jordan didn't click with any of his teammates

(22:11):
and that when he brought up to the players let's
chip in, everyone just was wor they were quiet and
left the room.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Yes, Dylan, is that one of those things where you
just make him something? You know, the guy's got everything, like,
here's some macaroni art from the squad.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, but you could get him a box of really
good cigars that he smokes. I mean, you could get
him something. But just the fact that everybody, you know,
like they boycotted doing something for Mike. It's pretty interesting.
Now when I leave the show and the big German

(22:46):
comes out when I'm not here and says, hey, I'm
taking up a collection. We want to get Dan something
for going away present. I don't know what the present
would be. I don't know how much you'd chip in.
But if you want to tell me now that you're
not going to chip in, Todd, I'm okay with that?
Why you say like me, because you're really quick to

(23:08):
whip out the car. Never never, I forget my wallet
at home a.

Speaker 7 (23:11):
Lot, and this is the thing I gotta work on
that though. I would, of course, I'll chip in within reason.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Yes, Dylan, you don't want a handmade thing or no,
I do. I tell my kids that all the time,
like I'll just take a photograph of something. But they're
in their twenties. Like you, guys are old enough to
have some cashier to you know, get me something nice.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
I'm thirty. I'm right on the line.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Okay, you don't have to give as much. But I
would say maybe another Porsche.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Do you see the reaction in the room, like the
Lego set?

Speaker 2 (23:45):
No, like a like a Porsche?

Speaker 5 (23:48):
A drawing of a Porsche by me.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
That'd be fine. I didn't say, you know what kind
of Porsche?

Speaker 7 (23:54):
Yes, Tom, like a photo of Porscha de ROSSI like
a frame little picture.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
I'd take that as well. I would have appreciate the humor.
Ellen Degeneress might not think it was funny.

Speaker 6 (24:04):
Yes, yes, Paul, can I be a boxter because we
don't want to go nineteen seventy three target like a
nice used boxter.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You know what, I'll take it. If that's what you
want to give me to say goodbye to me, I'd
be fine with that.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yes, Martin, Yeah, we're more likely to do it because
you didn't talk to us the way Michael Jordan talked
to Kame Brown.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
No, I did not. No, No, you're might We're a team.
This is the starting five.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Yes, Mark, that's a career that was mismanaged. I think
I think he was doing from the start.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, And you know, here's Michael, and you would think
Michael is now a lot of great players. Hall of
famers aren't really good at assessing talent. Because here's Michael Jordan.
He's looking at Kwame Brown coming right out of high school.
What did he see that? He went, I'm going to

(25:00):
take him number one overall, because if you're Mike, you've
got to be seeing traits that you see in yourself.
How important is this? I want to be the greatest.
I'll do whatever it takes. I'll put in the time.
You can beat me up. I'm getting back up like
all the things that Jordan did. But I can't imagine

(25:21):
you're looking at Kwame Brown and going yep, that's my guy,
because Kwame Brown never really amounted to much. But you know,
Michael also drafted Adam Morrison, and we thought, with Adam
Morrison at Gonzaga, great score, seasoned, maybe he could come in.

(25:41):
Maybe he could be a Keith van Horne type. I
didn't want to say Larry Bird, but that's what people thought. Man,
he could be the next Larry Bird. I go, no,
he can't be. It's like when people talk about Anthony Edwards.
You know he could be the next Michael Jordan. No,
he can't. He's a really good player. He's not the next.

(26:03):
Don't put that pressure on him.

Speaker 6 (26:04):
Yeah, Pauline, going back to that two thousand and one draft,
that was peak draft, the high school guy years before
they rule changed that draft, Kwame Brown number one to Washington,
Tyson Chandler High School to the LA Clippers, then pau Gasol,
no college experience, Eddie Curry goes forth to the Bulls.
Tyson Chandler's career worked out pretty well.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Is Tyson Chandler still playing?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
He's not.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Okay. It felt like he, like Joe Smith, they were
going to be on a roster for twenty five years.
He was nineteen years yeah, Tyson Chandler, Eddie Curry. I
have Eddie Curry's Dallas Maverick jersey. It is the largest
uniform I've ever the largest jersey length wise, it is

(26:51):
a dress. It is huge. I don't even know if
Eddie played for the MAVs, but I remember we were
in Dallas and somebody said, hey, Eddie Curry's jersey somebody
with the Mavericks. I go, yeah, I'll take it, like
I sure, yeah, PAULI.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
Eddie Curry played two games for the Mavericks. Oh, and
we have one of his jersey.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Yes, Marvin and Eddie Curry. He was not a bad player.
His effort always seemed to be in question. It's not
like he was averaging eight points a game. I think
at best, I'm sure he was a fifteen sixteen point
a night guy.

Speaker 9 (27:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
I don't know if he loved basketball. I never got
that sense. Yeah, Paul peak Eddie Curry. Oh seven with
the Knicks, he averaged twenty and seven.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
All right, but seven is inexcusable though, as big and
as physical as he appeared to be.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, I'll take twenty and seven from Eddie Curry. I
mean he's not willed, like, I'm okay with that, but
only seven boards. Yeah, he he was a finesse player
who was three hundred pounds.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Yes, here's my thing about NBA players and basketball players
in general. All those guys are genetic lottery winners. So
you're seven feet tall, you're gonna play basketball. If you're six'
five in eighth, grade they're gonna put you out in
the basketball. Court whether you love basketball or. Not, sure
you see what basketball ends up doing for. You a
Lah Ben Simmons Ben simmons six,' ten so you're thinking, to,

(28:17):
yourself man you gotta get. Out there look how much
they pay. Basketball PLAYERS and i Don't Think ben simmons. Loved,
basketball plus he was shooting with the. WRONG hand i
remember saying that FIRST time i, saw HIM and i
came IN and i said it on the show and people, are,
like oh.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
YOU'RE crazy, i, Go no. I'm not he's shooting with the.
Wrong hand and then it turns out that he was
shooting with the. Wrong HAND but i don't think he. Loved,
basketball Yes.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
Is ben simmons still out? A?

Speaker 2 (28:46):
ROSTER probably i.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
Don't have him playing a game in the twenty five twenty,
sixth season.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Not.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
One game he's not With. THE clippers i think he's on.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
The, roster okay but you Know What ben, simmons career
he had a couple of, seasons sixteen eight, AND eight,
i know. Two steals he, was, like yeah he could
have been could Have Been grant hill without. The scoring he.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Could have been a. GOOD player i was almost going to,
say serviceable but a. Good, Player, yes dylan.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
He might be in like the list of all time
just highway. Robbery contracts he made a lot.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Of, money, Yeah, yeah oh there's a few. Of, those
yeah there's a few of those that you don't have
to have a mask gun or a gun when you're sticking.
Up people.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Oh by, the.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Way Uh draymond green did Respond To. Austin Rivers When
austin rivers was Responding To, Draymond Green draymond green's saying
that on his Podcast That steve kerr probably what was
the word, he. Uses hindered he may Have Hindered draymond

(30:00):
green's career that he didn't get any plays called. For
Him So, austin rivers Former Player doc RIVERS' son NBA
on nbc analyst Reacted To draymond green's comment about not being,
featured offensively.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 10 (30:17):
It's ridiculous it's Uto ridicuou and, you know it's Shocking
because draymond.

Speaker 6 (30:21):
Has such a basketball he has such A.

Speaker 10 (30:23):
High iq that's what that's a big part of his
game is how smart of a basketball player. He is
so it's it bewilders me that he even things, like
this because It's, like draymond them taking a chance on
you and them, playing You and steve putting you at
the forefront of, that offense making you be the point

(30:44):
forward and kind of the, you know letting you allow
you to have that voice and the freedom to, have yours,
you know whether it's his, you know spasms or what he,
loses it or to be the emotional leader of. That
team steve let him be who, he was so to
hear he. Was Hindered especially draymon's ever been an offensive.
Score juggernaut he's left to open eighty percent of. The

(31:05):
game no one, guards him and because he's such A high,
iq player he's been able to take that and be
a free Screener For. Steph clay he's been. This enforcer
he does all these things defensively. TO dominate i don't
know what way he was hindered and why they would
ever draw plays for you. To score you were never.
A scorer, in fact the teams would have. Loved it
if you, were shooting it'd be much better Than step

(31:27):
Knot or Clay Or.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
Kevin knott it's. JUST ludicrous i don't even know where
he got.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
This from So That's. Austin rivers that was. Last, Week
Well draymond green on His Podcast The Draymond, green show
Responded To. Austin rivers Responding To draymond green Speaking.

Speaker 11 (31:47):
Of, austin rivers, YOU know i saw he said, he's
bewildered and it's ridiculous OF what. I SAID and i
just find it interesting that a guy who was the
tenth pick in, MY draft i was, thirty five who's
on his. Second act i'm still on. Act one, He
goes traymond never been To. Score austin YOU and i
average the saying my points in. HIGH school i say
high school because that's when you were at, your best

(32:08):
and then, in college, you know it was. Still good
it was very Featured at DUKE because. Nba careers should
he really talk ABOUT my. Nba career i'm still with my.
First team he was gone from his first team in.
Two years the guy received the biggest bell OUT in
us history Prior To president trump elling out airlines when
his dad gave him forty two. MILLION dollars i, TELL
him i have. TO die i PRAY that i CAN

(32:30):
give dj two hundred million dollars Or give deuce two
hundred and. FIFTY millions i PRAY that i can do that.
ONE day i love how people just go take the
fifteen seconds that they want to take and make it.
A HEADLINE but i really Enjoyed Watching austin rivers.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Be, bewildered okay this is what happens when. People argue
they go after the person who, is arguing not what
the person. Is saying you're Going after austin. Rivers, credentials
okay but that's not what this argument, is about or discussion.
Is About austin rivers made it TO. The nba he

(33:05):
has every right as an analyst to be able to
Critique What draymond green said because it's a. Basketball critique
he's not talking about him off. The court this Is
about draymond. The player there's a lot of people who
average a lot of points in high school would be
the FIRST thing i would Say To, draymond green you're not.
A Scorer austin rivers did compliment YOU. High Iq steve

(33:29):
kerr entrusted the offense run, through you but He's not
two things can. Be correct he can say Something about austin, rivers,
Career Okay austin rivers can say you're crazy to think
they should run plays for you when You got Steph
and clay and that defense has left. You open he

(33:49):
didn't answer any. Of those that's the Point That austin rivers.
Is Making draymond green, is attacking, you know the person who's,
saying it not what. He's SAYING but i found it,
interesting that, You, know drake it was a funny line
about the bailout from. His dad that was a. GOOD
line i. Liked, It, yes tohn the more.

Speaker 7 (34:12):
Upset or sensitive a, person gets usually you've hit some
kind of nerve. Of truth and THAT'S what i took out.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Of that and you An i. Emmert, witness yeah you
can't catch.

Speaker 7 (34:22):
Somebody with something that is you don't want to admit
about yourself and then you start.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Lashing, Out, Yes.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
Yes paul i've always been a Fan of. DRAYMOND'S game
i think it's necessary for a winning team to have
a guy. Like that he went with a thirty fifth
pick of the draft in what. Twenty twelve the pick
after That. Was sacramento if he Goes, to sacramento we're
never speaking. His name he doesn't GO on nba, playoff
shows he doesn't have. A podcast. That's big that's the

(34:49):
greatest thing ever happened to him was to be the
third option For.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
The, warriors Yes And steve kerr didn't hindered in. His career,
if anything he opened, it up opened it up to.
Something great he, supported it and they put up with
all of his stupid stuff that he does on. The, court, Yes.
Yes dally for a guy who's in.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
His first, act still he seems to have a lot
of focus on, his Podcast which i'm kind of in
the camp that should be a second, act thing like
if you're still, playing.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Well he's in the, home stretch maybe a couple more
years at. THE most i Wonder If golden state moves
on from him in, the offseason if they decide. To revamp,
but hey it was fun back. AND forth I Appreciated.
Austin rivers give me a fresh take and honest Take On,
draymond Green And draymond green didn't surprise me In Attacking
austin rivers and not really looking at and listening To

(35:46):
What austin rivers had.

Speaker 6 (35:47):
To.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
Say.

Speaker 6 (35:48):
Yeah point you know the guy who could say this
Would Be. Klay Thompson, klay thompson As the, warriors player
he never averaged more than twenty three points. A game
if he went To, the hawks you'd average. Twenty, eight yeah.
No problem we would never talk.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
About IT but i Don't Think steve kerr Hindered. Play thompson,
all right we'll take. A break play of the.

Speaker 9 (37:14):
MY call i had a little bit of a trivia
question for You With victor wimmanyama's triple double with twelve blocks.
Last night it was the FIRST game i really watched
fully with. Him playing he's a player that almost looks
better in a regular time than. Slow mo if you
put him in, slow mo he looks just so out
of place that even when they did one of his

(37:35):
blocks where he swiped once and missed the ball and
he still had time to get it with his second
arm because he was, so tall.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
It was just amazing.

Speaker 9 (37:41):
To See but pauli brought up the last two players
to have a triple double with blocks in. The playoffs
there's only one, player though that has had ten blocks
in a playoff game and didn't achieve a triple double when.
Doing it does anyone in the room know, That, player
