Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, it's our one on this Tuesday, Dan and the
Dan Nuts Dan Patrick Show. Seaton's on the road. I
think he's in Indianapolis. He was going to go to
the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this morning, and I said, well,
why don't you join us in about forty five minutes
from now. He's in the Makeo Van. Apparently he scratched
up the Makeo Van. That's cool, but then we'll just

(00:26):
ask Mako to fix the Makeo Van. That'd be weird
to take the Makeo van into a Maco store. But
Seaton's on the road, going to Vegas, where we'll be
the following week for Formula One. Reggie Miller will stop
by a little later on Chase Daniel, our favorite breaking
down film. And I'm curious what he sees with some

(00:47):
of these quarterbacks, including the situation with the Giants. Brian
Dable gets fired. We talked about this yesterday and even
when the season started. I said that after ten games,
if he's won in none or two and eight, he's
probably going to get fired. The question would be when
would he go to Jackson Dart. He went to Jackson
Dart earlier than we thought, because I think he realized

(01:08):
what he didn't have with Russell Wilson. He played him,
he wrote him, and all of a sudden, you've got
a quarterback who has played seven games and he has
been in concussion protocol or examined for concussion four times.
How much of that is on Jackson Dart and how
much of that is on Brian Dable. Now the problem
that you had with Brian Dabele When Jackson Dart got

(01:31):
hurt a couple of weeks ago and Brian Dabele was
yelling into the blue tent, that's a bad, bad sign
that it felt like he was desperate. You've got to
get back out there, help me save my job, which
he wasn't able to do. But they have their quarterback
now they need a coach. We'll talk to Chase Daniel
about that as well. And also I want him to

(01:51):
break down what he sees with Jordan Love because it
feels like he's a top ten quarterback, but he doesn't
play like a top ten quarterback. He has those glimpses
and he's getting paid like he's a top ten, top
five quarterback. But I'm watching last night. I kept thinking,
this defense is really good. That offense is not good

(02:13):
at all. And the Eagles, you know, you kind of
carve out a win. They wasn't pretty, but they got
a win and a big win when you beat the
Packers on the road, and that could be you know,
down the road with home field advantage. But you know,
this is really big if you're the Packers and you're
leading the division to now your third and the Bears

(02:36):
I still think are a playoff caliber team. The Vikings,
we saw what they could do. They beat Detroit. The
Lions I still think are the class there. So that
is not an easy division to navigate there. But I'm
watching last night and I kept thinking, come on, guys,
let's go, let's get going. And it never happened. All right,
we say good morning. If you're watching on Peacock, thank
you for downloading the app and our radio affiliates around

(02:59):
the country. The day is always brought to you by
Panini America, the official trading cards of the program. This
first time we're brought to you by Mako. If you
want to join us for the big game, it's in
San Francisco in February. Perhaps you've heard of it. It's
called the Big Game. It's gonna be Superla. It'll be
a super game out there Danpatrick dot com. Enter you

(03:20):
can enter daily for a chance to win, get official
rules and no purchase necessary. Boyd in Alaska and Hawaii,
and you've got to be at least eighteen years of age.
Ends eleven, twenty three, twenty five. You got a chance
to join us for the Big Game, super Game out
there in San Francisco. All right, we'll come up with
the poll question, play of the day, stat of the day,
all of that forthcoming. And once again Reggie Miller a

(03:43):
little bit later on. You know, when the season began,
I started to look at Green Bay and Green Bay
and the Rams were the other two teams I thought
of aside from the Lions to represent the NFC. I
thought that much of them, and then you added Michael Parsons,
and I thought, okay, we're gonna get something special here. Well,
the Rams have lived up to the billing. I think

(04:04):
the Lions have. But the Packers you thought, sturdy offensive line,
reliable run game, you got a respected head coach, and
you've got a quarterback on the rise. And and now
they're five to three and one, and in those three
losses they've scored thirteen, sixteen and seven points. I need
more out of a quarterback than I'm paying two hundred

(04:24):
and twenty million dollars. And it's not like the Packers
are broken. But if you don't start scoring some points,
that championship window is going to close a whole lot
quicker than you thought. Here's Jordan Love after the game.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
We're not getting any consistency right now. We're not getting
into a rhythm. We'll have a good play here and
then it kind of just will have a negative play,
whether it's a lot of things, whether it's a turnover, penalty,
drop sack, you know, it's a lot of things. So
it's just find ways to keep the positive plays going
and avoid these negative plays.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
That were game.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
But I think we're just kind of shooting ourselves in
the foot right now and getting in the funk of,
you know, having some good plays and then not building
off them properly, and you know, having a play that
might hurt the drive and we can't overcome it.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
So Philly improves to seven and two. By the way,
the uniforms, let's decide what kind of green we're going with.
How about we pick a green and keep stay with it.
It's not a good look. I'm talking about the Eagles.
Packers uniforms look awesome except for the throwbagging it forms
that should have been thrown away. Hey we got throwback uniforms.

(05:33):
No throw those away. Philly improves to seven in two,
Green Bay five three and one. I'm not surprised the
Giants fired Brian Dable, but then you keep your GM.
And I'm trying to get this straight and PAULI, maybe
you can set me straight if I veer off course here.
But Brian Dable wanted Jackson Dart Joe Shane. The GM

(05:56):
didn't want Jackson Dart. But then Jackson Dart might be
the reason why the GM keeps his job. But the
coach lost his job and he was the one all
in on Jackson Dart as his quarterback.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Yeah, you nailed it, Okay, But isn't this a classic
general manager wants to save his own jobs, so he
recommends firing the head coach to make a statement to
the fans, but not fire himself. That's usually how it
is with the GM. You fire a coach to save
your own.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Job, unless you're in Miami and then they fire the
GM and then the coach keeps his job.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
That's down South.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, yeah, I don't understand. I mean, look, Brian Dable,
the last three years, you're not keeping your job. But
if you win that game against the Bears, does Brian
Dable still coach the Giants? And they were beating the
Bears the whole game, Jackson Dart gets hurt and all

(06:52):
of a sudden, Caleb Williams comes to the rescue. But
if you win that game, I'm always curious. You know,
it's rare when you win a game and then you
get fired in any sport. But here you have that
situation where, you know, blowing these fourth quarter leads for
fourth quarter leads, double digit fourth quarter leads the game
in Denver, Like, you can't have situations like that, Like

(07:15):
you want to have continuity, sustainability, then you can't let
those games go. Great teams, great quarterbacks, great coaches, don't
let those games go. And that's what the Giants did.
And you're gonna point the finger to Brian Dable and
he pays the price. But you know, the Giants can't
find a coach. Look at all the coaches that they've had.

(07:38):
I mean the Ben mcadoo's situation, the era Joe Judge
was going to be the next Bill Belichick. I mean,
Tom Conflin's not walking through the door. Bill Parcell's not
walking through the door. Hell, you might as well reach
out to Bill Belichick, bring him in, see if he
wants to coach the g Men. Yeah, PAULI and.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Historically the New York Giants, it's we're one of those
franchises that's never awful. You know, they will you know,
like a seven win season was bad for them. They
haven't won ten games since twenty sixteen.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
That's a stretch starting lineup. Fritzy's here, Dylan in for Seaton, Marv.
Paul yours truly in the BRGS. We have a poll
question coming up. Yes, Dylan, I.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Was just gonna say, if you're a new head coach
getting hired by the Jets or Giants, how aware, like
in the back of your mind are you that you're
going to get fired, because it seems like it's just
been an inevitability.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Well, I don't think you can think it, but I
don't think there's a situation with like Pete Carroll could
get fired. He could get fired by the Raiders. Uh
Andy Reid is safe, Mike Tomlin is Like how many
coaches Sean McVay is safe? Is Matt Lafleur safe if
they don't make the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Are we playing safe or now? I don't know, it's
mid season, Okay, Pete Carroll, though.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Is Sean McDermott safe in Buffalo? And I know we
want to say, well, of course he is, But it
feels like every year we're like, I don't know. Sean McDermott, yes, Marvin.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
No, no, no, because he's on year four of all right,
it's time to get to the super Bowl now.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
But if he's getting fired, it's not during the regular season.
I'm talking about at the end of the season, regular season.
How many guys are untouchable. They're going to keep their
jobs no matter what. They keep their jobs, Yes, Dylan.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Is Mike Tomlin still on that list? I feel like
that's starting to wane.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I don't think they would fire him. You don't know,
they don't do that. I mean they've had three coaches.
I know, in the history of the franchise, you've had
three coaches that would be a Mike. How about how
about we agree to.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Move on mutual parting of ways.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yes, how about you and Aaron Rodgers go to Malibu,
hang out for a little while, and we'll try to
find your successor. Yes, Martin, Sean Payton is safe. Yes,
Sean McVay is safe. Mike McDonald, by the way, is
the head coach in Seattle. He's safe. He might be
the coach of the year, although Mike Rabel is safe.

(10:14):
Mike McDaniel's not safe in Miami. Aaron Glenn is safe
ish right, He's going to get at least two years
out of this. Yes.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Uh, Dylan, if we want to go based odds wise,
who has the worst odds to win Coach of the year?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Give us an idea.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
So all at the bottom, there's six guys who are
plus forty thousand, Okay, Pete Carroll is one of them,
Mike McCoy, Aaron Glenn, Brian Dables still on there, Dan Quinn,
and Kevin Stefanski.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
So I think you go into these jobs like Brian
Schottenheimer knows he's going to get fired, right, at some
point he'll probably get fired. I'm not saying that he should.
I mean I hope that he gets a couple of
years to prove himself. But you kind of go in
if you take over Tennessee Carolina Cleveland Jets, like you

(11:15):
know you're going to get fired. The odds are not
in your favor, Yes, Martin.

Speaker 6 (11:21):
Two guys, Dan Campbell and Dan Quinn. I think they're
both safe no matter.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
What Dan Campbell is for sure, you don't think Dan
Quinn I hope he is.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
To me, you got to an NFC championship game and
this year just might be you know what Jayden was hurt?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Oh, I know, I know, I agree. So just this season, yeah, yeah,
oh yeah, this season? Yes, but you do you know
you go into these situations where you know that the
odds are you're probably going to get fired. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
Pull.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
It feels like if the Raiders continue to be awful,
they would let Pete Carroll walk off into the sunset
in a nice manner based off his history in the NFL. Hey, coach,
don't make us do anything you've had. You've decided to retire.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yes, and I would not be surprised if that happened.

Speaker 7 (12:13):
Gues N.

Speaker 8 (12:14):
They're one game out of first right now.

Speaker 9 (12:15):
But if things go sideways with a favorable schedule, what
happens to John Harblaugh in the at the end of
the year.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
I think he's safe. I do, and I think that
they're you know, they're going to win that division, so
he is, he's safe. But I think that in the
beginning of the season and people are like, I don't know,
you know, can can you survive something like this? You
build up that equity and I think that, you know,

(12:41):
and you have ownership that doesn't react. You know, they're
not crazy people. They're not out in the media talking
all the time, you know. So John Harball is good, Yes, Marv.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
Nick Sirianni never seen I never see.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I do you realize before he won the Super Bowl.
During the year, people are talking about if he doesn't
win the super Bowl, he might not keep his job.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
He fired the OC and the like, let's fire everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
To keep his job.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yes, Paulie, they should have fired Nick Siriani. Last night
after the.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Game was only for that that fourth down and six,
fourth and.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Sixth at the thirty five you throw into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
I was like, Okay, are they gonna Are they gonna
run the ball because it's fourth down and Green Bay's
going to get the ball. They'll stop the clock because
you know it'll be fourth down and turn it over
on downs and all of a sudden, you see Jalen Hurts,
who didn't have a good night, and you're going to
all of a sudden like this is double coverage and
a precise pass that you're throwing it. Now, you might say,

(13:40):
well if he doesn't catch it and they intercept it,
then they're down inside the five. Okay, if you kick
a field goal, I make Jordan Love go all the
way to score a touchdown to win. In this case,
he gets the ball, you get twenty five yards. You
got a chance to tie the game.

Speaker 10 (13:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Yeah, that would have been about a fifty yard field goal.
You make it a touchdown game that the Packers need
to score the length of the field. Your kicker, Jake Elliott,
he's three for four from fifty plus this year. Yeah,
it's a safe, much safer play.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I didn't understand it. It. It's one of those where
I go, oh boy as soon as Jalen Hurts went
back to pass, and I'm going no, no, because I
realized it was a pass downfield. It wasn't like I
got Goddard over the middle for seven and that's ball game. Yes, tud.

Speaker 10 (14:31):
Is that an.

Speaker 9 (14:32):
Overconfidence in your offense or not enough confidence in your defense.
If I'm a defender, I'm upset that we're not punting.
We can handle this for twenty twenty five seconds.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
But the offense hadn't been good all night long.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
So it doesn't make any sense to do that, to
run that play.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Yes, yeah, Pauline, I love watching Peyton Manning in situations
like this. As the ball snap, he goes what we're
doing here in one word, what we're doing here?

Speaker 10 (14:54):
It's great.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
Yes, Dylan, it just screamed like I'm playing Madden, like
I refused to put this is a stupid play. But
let's see how it goes.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
By the way, it's a meat Tuesday. The Heartland meat
people are coming in from the Midwest. Heartland Steak Company.
We have Tomahawk Ribbis, we have Porterhouse steaks, loaded baked potatoes.
Who is it better than we do? No body?

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Are they coming in every Tuesday?

Speaker 2 (15:29):
No? I don't know. I don't know, but Dylan normally
is our chef. But I said, no, you got responsibilities here.
So some of the other brg's are going to pick
up the slack. There I subbed it out yes you did,
and thank you to Heartland been great partners. And you
can get that Heartland. You can taste that difference. You
get the Midwest taste of meat Heartland steakceo dot com.

(15:53):
All right, well take a break. We'll get phone calls
coming up. We'll settle on a poll question Reggie Miller.
A little later on Chase Daniel will break down what
is wrong with Jordan Love and also how much blame
does he put on Jackson Dark getting in harm's way.
So that'll be coming up in an hour from now.
Glad you're part of the program. It's our one, Dan
and the Dan Edge Dan Patrick Show.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Subscribe, hit that thumbs up icon and comment away. Troy
Aikman was be fuddled by Nick Sirianni on that fourth
and sixth. Imagine if green Bay sends it into over.
Imagine if the Eagles lose that game, and they could
have easily because green Bay gets into field goal range,
they tie it. Now you're at home and you're in overtime.

(17:13):
I just didn't understand the call because I thought, maybe
you try to draw them off sides. It's fourth and six,
you get a free play, and then maybe you could throw,
you know, throw somebody open there get a free play,
or they jump off sides. Now it's fourth and one.
Now you can do the tush push and end the
game with that against the Packers who ratted you out

(17:35):
and said that, you know, they didn't want the tush
push in the game.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yes, PAULI remember yesterday we played the game. How many
tush pushes or push I would there be? You guys
all took the under guess how many one one by
the Eagles? Yeah, yeah, and they were off sides. By
the way, it's fall start. Okay, okay, two guys fall started.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yea.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Drove me crazy, like a head start. It drove me crazy.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
I'm thinking I can officiate that. I truly could have
officiated that, And that's what I don't understand. Okay, you
may not like the play aesthetically, but let's call it
correctly while it's still here. Call it correctly and they didn't.

(18:24):
Just drives you crazy with this. So both guards start
fall start and they didn't call anything.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
Yeah, Dylan Well and the Packers did their own touch
bush too, and they were also offside, yes they were.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
So do you just make it reviewable now? We just
outlawed as ban I'm I'm down at that. If you okay,
you don't like the way it looks, that's one thing.
If you can't officiate it, then it shouldn't be in
the game. If it's too hard to officiate. Because they
keep waiting for injury dead, this is where they're rooting
for injuries. It feels like like anybody get hurt. No,

(19:01):
maybe next week, anybody get hurt. No, all right, we'll
keep it in. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Paulin Eli was breaking down the Toush push yesterday and
he said the false start by the two guards is
almost on purpose. They're trying to wedge in front of
the center to protect the center and get even more
of a force with the center and the quarterback behind them.
So they're trying to time out the snap and the
guards jumping and the refs aren't catching it. But we
can completely it's no clear.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
This would be an edict from the home office and
be like, guys, get the call correct, okay, because if
you can't, then it looks even worse that. Okay, the
Eagles are Super Bowl champs, defending champs. Now we're going
to get rid of this. Now it seems like we're
piling on the Eagles. No, we're going to say that

(19:50):
it's too hard to officiate. Now you can get rid
of the toush push because there's no injury data. That's
what they thought. Oh my gosh, you know, we got
to get this out of the game. People are getting here.
By the way, why don't colleges use the NFL model
for kickoffs? Aren't they having violent collisions here? Shouldn't we

(20:12):
be kind of adapting the same rules for safety protection
With ninety percent of those kids who will never play
in the NFL to be a kill, Dan, I know,
but I'm thinking, all right, I gotta deal with this
with the NFL and college kids go down there and

(20:34):
bust up somebody. You know, it'll look great on Sports Center. Boy,
do we have the color of the Eagles green?

Speaker 4 (20:44):
Are we playing? Guess that color?

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Okay? They have blue in there, they have black in there.
Why don't they just go back to those great Randall
Cunningham jersey.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Technically, in the Eagles uniforms they have a combination of black, silver,
and a type of green like a Benjamin Moore. You know,
if it was gonna be like a dusky rose. What
do you think the name of the green is for
the Eagle's uniform. We'll that to go first.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Okay. Is there a blue stripe on the pants?

Speaker 4 (21:13):
No that they say that stripe in the uniform is green.
It doesn't match the green on the helmets.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
It's like seaphone green. That's terrible. It feels like there's
three different shades of green on there. All right, Dylan,
I'll let you go first.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Philadelphia blue. That's the name of the color. That's the
name of the green.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
Okay, are Independence green?

Speaker 6 (21:39):
I think they came up with their own color eagle green. Okay,
god bluebird green.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I don't know what Crayola would would have with something
like that. Crayola green. It is midnight green. That is
the official green of the Eagles. Back in the day,
from eighty seven to ninety five, it was just called green,
and it was much more of a kelly forest mix.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Not good, not good.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
It's muddled. Yeah, the Randall Cunningham green. Now I'm scared,
Harold Carmichael, I'm scared. Yes, I think the clock struck
midnight than midnight there. Okay, I see what you did
with that? See what you did? Yes? Doing?

Speaker 5 (22:25):
Why are the eagles green in the first place? They
should be like brown, white, and yellow.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Based on eagles on fair point. Yeah, I never thought
of it that way.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
That.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Why do we have different colors? Why why don't we
have like bald eagle colors? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Yeah, make them true to form. I have to change
the rams. I don't know if there's any blue and
yellow rams out there.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Which is gray.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
By the way, it's always weird to say Happy Veterans Day,
and I don't view it that way. I mean, I
hope you honor Veterans Day today and all the great
people who have served and are serving our country around
the world. And hits close to home for me with
my father and two uncles that were in the military.

(23:15):
But you get that opportunity say hello to somebody. If
you see somebody who has their hat on or any
bumper stick or anything that commemorates being a veteran, please
say hello to them, ask them how their day is.

Speaker 9 (23:30):
Yes, Tom, this may sound strange coming from me, but
if you know they're in front of you in the supermarket,
or you see them at a cafe, you know the
pick up the tab have you done? I have actually
done that. I did it to us a few months ago.
I was out to dinner with my wife. We were
at an Italian restaurant. Granted it wasn't anything fancy. I'm
gonna drop three hundred bucks on somebody that I don't know, but.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
I'd like to thank you for your service. For an appetizer.

Speaker 9 (23:51):
Yeah, I can pick up the column may or a
slice of pizza and a color.

Speaker 8 (23:54):
I can do that much. Guys put their lives on
the line. I can pick up a small piece.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
I do have a max like there was a ceiling
of how well, yeah, the wait, you.

Speaker 8 (24:01):
Said that'll be thirty eight twelve ago. I'll give you
thirty eight. Take care of the other.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Yes, Paul, And this is a true story I haven't
mentioned before. Once in a while, if I see a
policeman or a fireman in line at a deli, I'll
pick up their sandwich or something like that. I think
it's a good example for the kids. I saw this
fireman going to my local deli and he walks up,
and I was gonna walk up and say I got
his sandwich. You know, he was getting an order for
the entire firehouse. He was picking up about seventeen sandwiches.

(24:27):
He had two big bags, and I was walking up
and I was just about to do it, but he
had already paid, and I missed my window. I didn't,
but I looked at it. I was like, oh, man,
I was gonna say I got his, and it was
gonna be like, seventeen sandwiches.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Thank you for your service.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
I would buy his sandwich the other sixteen on his Yes, yes,
you have.

Speaker 9 (24:45):
To do a random act of kindness, like at the
drive through. Like I was with my daughter once and
she said why don't we pay for the people? But
I'm not knowing if there's four people back there's a
who little League team. And thankfully it was only like
a woman and like her two daughters, but just like
a nice thing to well, we'll put, you know, put
it on my card the people.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I've done it for somebody in front of me that'll pay,
and then that'll be like you're driving through Starbucks and
then you're just saying, hey, I'll pay for the person
in front of me, and then they'll be like okay.
Then you go up and then you just have they.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
Already left and paid the person in front of you. Whdn'
you have to do it for the people behind you
that didn't pay just yet.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
You go through the drive through, place your order, and
then you go up and then you pick up your coffee.
So then when I go to the window there, then
I have already told them I'm gonna you know how
this works? Yeah, yes, okay, yeah, because I don't know
what's happening behind me. In front of me. In front
of me, they can pick up their coffee. They could
give me a thumbs up, and then I just pay for.

Speaker 9 (25:43):
It'll ever become a bill like what Paulie was saying
where he's like, WHOA, I wasn't planning on dropping seventy eight.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Well, you never know, You never know. But then that's
it's called an act of kindness. It's not kind of kindness.
You can't put a price on kindness, is what you're saying. Well,
apparently you can. Yes.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
What if you're in a drive through and you got
up there and you're about to pay for your meal,
and you go, I'm a fireman and the people in
the back said they're going to take care of my mail.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
That would be a cold blooded movie. That'd be good,
be terrible, that'd be good. Uh, let's see Kristen Syracuse.
We got to come up with a poll question, Dylan,
all right, yeah, okay, kristin Syracuse.

Speaker 11 (26:20):
Hi, Chris, Hey, thanks a lot, Dan, and I got
a couple of things to throw at you. I've been
a lot to talk about Kyler Murray's future in the NFL,
and I was thinking coming out of college he was
the number nine overall pick in the MLB draft, only
player ever to be a first round pick in both
the NFL and baseball drafts, and with his lack of size,
you wonder if you would have been better served playing

(26:40):
baseball and being a baseball player as opposed to being
the starting an NFL quarterback. You know, he certainly would
have add a lot more disposable time to play call
of duty. And I wonder if he still could get
baseball shot and off of last night's football game. It
seems like ever since they shortened the preseason and limited
full speed practices, first three months of the NFL season

(27:01):
has produced a lot of crummy, sloppy and just playing
boring games.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yeah, I know that. You know, then you have coaches.
Their philosophy now is the first month is kind of
your training camp. You know, that's your preseason. The Eagles
and Packers played to the first scoreless tie at halftime
since week fourteen to twenty twenty three. That was Vikings
and the Raiders. Texas and the Jets also scoreless at half.

(27:32):
Just out of the day rot you buy Panini America
the official trading cards to the Dan Patricks Shall all right, Dylan.
Poll question for hour one is going to be all.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Right, Dan, This is from Paul.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Who wins the NFC Bucks, Eagles, Lions, Packers, Rams or Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Hey, if I, well, I picked the lines to go
to the Super Bowls. You can't go well, you know,
take the Seahawks. I think the Seahawks are far more formidable,
especially with that defense, because everybody's going to say the
same thing. It feels like with Sam Darnold, let me
see when it really matters. But he's been great. He's
been great. But the defense to me was really impressive.

(28:17):
Now granted it's against Arizona, but still, these are guys
getting paid in Seattle to me, and you got the
Rams and Seahawks this weekend, which is spicy. I love
the Rams. You know. It came down to Matthew Stafford
if he was going to be healthy, and I just
I didn't think he'd hold up, and he has and

(28:39):
he's been an MVP candidate because I was leaning on
taking the Rams over the Lions. The AFC is the
one that's open, that feels like it's open for business,
even though Vegas says the Chiefs are still the team
to beat and they might not even make the playoffs. Here,
by the way, do you see Joe Burrow back at

(28:59):
practice ish and they talked about a twenty one day window.
I don't know what that twenty one day window means,
but you're three and six. God, if you were four
and five instead of three and six, you have to
win that Bears game. And all I was saying, if

(29:23):
you play five hundred and Burrow comes back, you got
a chance in that division. Here's Joe Burrow coming back
to practice.

Speaker 12 (29:32):
Yeah, you know, our division is wide open. I think
Pittsburgh's five and four at this point. We play them
this week, so you know, everything is still there in
front of us. Very rare that our division looks like this,
but it does this year, and you know, I think
we'll be at least in it until the end. I
think it would be very difficult for us to be
a wildcard team at this point. Obviously a lot a
lot of football to be played, but you know, I

(29:52):
think that's difficult. I think our best path would be
win the division.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Yeah, got a hold on here, but they lost a
couple of games that they shouldn't have, YEAMPAULI.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
The Bengals are at the Steelers host the Patriots at
the Ravens. If they win the Steelers Ravens game, they
are right back in it because it's a double.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
This might be winner go home, though, with the Steelers
and then you're three and seven, and at what point
do you say to Joe Burrow, let's not do this, Yampoli.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
But the Bengals their last three regular season games, Dolphins, Cardinals,
Browns very winnable for a wildcart spot.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Creak in Tampa, Hi Creak, what's on your mindy Dan?

Speaker 13 (30:35):
I think should having me on as a veteran that
comes back from deployments and you feel like you didn't
have a home anymore. I just want to thank you
for all the years you've given us, and I really
appreciate it, and I wanted to remind you in a
month Army Navy game.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Yeah, unless it'd be.

Speaker 13 (30:56):
Wonderful if you guys could go up there. But I
know you're running short on years, but.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Just career years, I mean hopefully not life years. But yeah,
thank you, Creek. We've toyed with the idea of going
to it. It's just it's kind of difficult.

Speaker 10 (31:11):
You know.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
When we go on the road, it's a big production.
You know, you got to drive the TV truck. The
big german goes out, you got to set up everything,
sponsor money. It cost a lot to go on the
road with the show. But that's always been one that
I would like to go, just, you know, because I

(31:32):
love going to West Point. Love it. If you said
I could go to any game, I can go to
one more college game, I'd go to a West Point game.
I just think it's incredible. And you've I talked about
the experience. First time I went there was nineteen eighty four.
I saw Doug Flutie play. Just the pride you have

(31:53):
when those cadets come out, Oh my god, I cried.
It was like whoa and they're eighteen, nineteen, twenty years
of age. They represent us and this is just a
football game. And you're talking about you know, we talk

(32:13):
about sports, life and death. No, that's life and death
right there. But to see that and the precision, just,
you know, the atmosphere second to none.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Now.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
I've been to Ohio State, Michigan, I've been to these
big games, Alabama, Auburn. It's just different. It's not about
the football atmosphere that you get from the other ones.
It's the real life atmosphere you get at West Point
and the history there, all of that tradition and magical

(32:50):
plus you go up in the fall and there's no
place more gorgeous than that. You're on the Hudson and
just man the foliage beautiful, beautiful. All right, let me
take a break. We are just getting started. Joe Seaton's
gonna join us, coming up from the road. Mister Indy
he is Indiana Jones there he'll join us, coming up

(33:13):
from the road. And our play of the day is
up next. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at

Speaker 1 (33:28):

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Twitters God play this is the play of the day.

Speaker 8 (33:38):
Check this out.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Looking no time outs left? The paps helps to pain
pain hoist game got the budget bisera on.

Speaker 14 (33:49):

Bain hits the game winner for the magic that's heard

(34:23):
Seaton o'cunnor there with the Makeo van that he scratched
up apparently yesterday, which will be weird to take the
Makeo van into a Maco shop and say can you
fix my mistake? Seatan? Yeah, how you doing?

Speaker 15 (34:36):
I'm great, I'm great, fantastic. Yeah, I'm at the Maco
on Lafayette Road in Indianapolis. They didn't think, seem to
think that the scratch was a big deal, So I
feel good about that. They're like, we've seen way worse,
don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yes, what does the day entail here in Indianapolis?

Speaker 14 (34:55):
Uh?

Speaker 15 (34:55):
Well, let's see. I had a good dinner last night,
which was awesome. Saint Almo's got punched in the face
with that shrimp cocktail. Yeah, that was dope, dude, it
was good.

Speaker 7 (35:09):
Let's see.

Speaker 15 (35:09):
I had somebody just dropped off a big box of
donuts from a place called Long's here.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
That was really awesome.

Speaker 15 (35:15):
I'm gonna be here for another like fifteen minutes or so,
and then at some point making my way to Saint.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Louis Okay, are you going by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, dude?
You know, it is like right there.

Speaker 15 (35:28):
It is like I am super close to that, so
I'll definitely stop it by there. Paul also sent me
some recommendations for food right in the speedway area. Of course,
there's a great pork tender wine right over here. You
gotta go to that, I guess. So, yeah, I'm gonna
try to swing by the speedway. It's like right there,
I'm less than two miles from it, so for sure.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Okay, Saint Louis tomorrow, then Denver, then Vegas.

Speaker 15 (35:52):
Yeah, Denver Friday, Vegas Monday.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Oh okay, so you get to sight seek.

Speaker 15 (35:58):
No snow yet, little snow yesterday, a little bit. Nothing
too bad though, so knock on wood, keeping my fingers
crossed that we avoid any of that.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
All right, save travels. Yeah, all right, appreciate it.

Speaker 15 (36:12):
How's everything there?

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Do?

Speaker 15 (36:13):
There's an awesome portion here. There's a nine to eleven
in there. There's some other dudes got this like mad
maximobile looking kind of thing too, that was about to
get a paint drive.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
It was awesome looking.

Speaker 15 (36:24):
It's you know, when the zombie apocalypse hits that's the
car I'm taking.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Save Travels. That's seating on the road and he's going
to Vegas, which is where we'll be next week. You
can enter in the Maco contest to go out for
the Big Week, the Big Game, the Super Week. Go
to Danpatrick dot com all the information you need and
part of the great Folks are partnership with MAKO. A
couple of phone calls in here James in Colorado, Hi James,

(36:54):
what's on your mind today?

Speaker 7 (36:56):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (36:57):
Dan?

Speaker 7 (36:57):
Good morning?

Speaker 2 (36:58):
How you doing, Buddy good good?

Speaker 7 (37:01):
Hey, I just wanted to call in and kind of
echo Creek in Tampa said, you know, you guys are great.
As a veteran, I serve two tours in Iraq, Like,
it's just so great to watch your show and listen
to you guys, just like a group of dudes talk
about sports and leave all the politics and the nonsense

(37:21):
out of it. You know, it's just so great.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Man.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Well, you're welcome. Thank you for the phone call. And
you know what, I go back to when I was
growing up, and I remember that there was a parade
down main street in my little town, and I remember
seeing Vietnam veterans and they weren't welcome, and it broke
my heart. I kept thinking they were serving our country,

(37:46):
even though my dad didn't want my brother, my oldest brother,
to go. And my dad was a marine and he
was like, no, this is this I war that you
know will never win. But to see the military, you know,
World War War on, World War two, and everybody was
cheering in the Vietnam Vets, man, it just I mean,
imagine you're over somewhere where you never thought you'd be,

(38:09):
and you'd never go again, and you come back home.
And so that stayed with me. And that's why whenever
I see Vietnam vets, whenever I don't care where it is,
or somebody has a bumper sticker, I always I just
say hello and say thank you, because I just I
think they got forgotten, you know, because we had a

(38:30):
lot of war heroes World War One, certainly World War Two.
My dad was in the Korean War, you know, so
you're just my uncle's they were in the Korean War.
So it's never lost on me, and hopefully it's not
lost on you. You can't take those people for granted.
Let me see Curry in California, Hi, Curry, what's on

(38:55):
your mind today?

Speaker 10 (38:56):
Hey, Dan, how you guys doing this morning? I had
a couple of things. The first thing was about the
act of kindness that you guys are talking about in
the Starbucks line. And I'm kind of with Fritze on
this one. I typically do it almost every morning, so
I'll go up to the window and I'll ask how
much is the person behind me. If it's reasonable, I'll

(39:18):
pay for it, and then hoping that they can pay
it forward and kind of keep the line going. And
then the last thing I have, I hope you finish
out your career with a week like I don't want
you to stop on a Monday or Tuesday, so hopefully
you do a grand finale and kind of finish strongly.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Oh, it's gonna be the Friday of super Bowl week
in Atlanta. That's it. That's it, Yes, Marvin.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
But sitcoms usually end, were great TV shows. They end
on the set. Yeah, the fresh Prince of Belayer, Will
Smith was in the house. He wasn't somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Yeah, But I don't want to do that and then
come back and then do one day here the series finale.
I'll give it thought.

Speaker 6 (40:06):
Come on, Phoebe and Chandler. They finished I don't know
if they did, but they probably finished at their apartment.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
They did, they walked out in the last scene, and
that's where we should base our show.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Off of Friends. Yes, I want to be Ross. Actually,
Ross drove me crazy. He drove me crazy.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Come on, Joey had the best line.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Joey was great, Joey was funny. Yeah. I don't know
how we got on this last show. No, yeah, let's
get off of this. I'll take that under advisement. Okay,
I promise we have a lot of time before then.
A lot of things can happen before then. Nothing. No, no,

(40:49):
I'm not staying. Nothing is guaranteed. Okay, I can leave earlier.
We're all day to day. One hour in the Books,
two more ago Reggie Miller. A little later on, Chase
Daniel will join us, former quarterback. He'll break down what's
wrong with Jordan Love and how do you protect Jackson

(41:11):
Dart from himself? Hour two on this Tuesday, Dan and
the Dan Eds. Right after this

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
