Timberwolves are nine and a half point underdogs against the Spurs.
I already had the points spreads for Thursday, Cavs getting

Players of the Year aside from Rudy Gobert, Wemby's gonna
win it this year, yes, Marvin, no continue please, Okay,
I didn't know if you had the list there of
guys who have won it. Remember Gerald Wilkins, they labeled
him the Jordan stopper. That's so mean because Gerald Wilkins
was not stopping Mike, and Mike loved you know, Dan

mar was another guy that it was like, oh, this
guy's supposed to stop me. Okay, Like Jordan invented reasons
to get motivated, They gave him reasons to get motivated.

Yeah, Paul, kind of for this argument, we're talking about
guys who are known for defense pretty much only you know,
Kawhi Leonard started as a defensive star and then became
a star star. But like a guy like remember Tyson Chandler,
know he was there for defense. Rudy Gobert is there
for defense. Even Marcus Smart a.

Thompson the forward for Detroit. He is there for defense.

Marcus Smart's still playing good defense. Did he win Defensive
Player of the Year.

He did, He won it in twenty twenty two. So
the past five after Wenby this year, Evan Mobley of
the Cavs, Rudy Gobert, Jaren Jackson, Junior Marcus Smart, Rudy Gobert,
and then Giannis won it in twenty twenty. Okay, how
about that.

But it feels like it's a big man award because
I don't know if you have that lockdown defense under
the way we used to, Yes, Marvin.

You'll see guys in the playoffs starting to make their bones,
like Jada McDaniels if he plays really good defense. So
with somebody, I mean, we even have a term for
it in the NBA three and D. Yeah, Like, look,
if you could play really good defense, it hit an
open three pointer and shoot thirty eight percent from the field,
you can make one hundred million dollars in the NBA.
So I think you kind of see it more so

in the playoffs than in a regular season.

did they take this survey?

a lot of guys who were averaging some points and
rebounds and assists where you go. Yeah, but they're not

we think you're a fraud award despite your stats. All right,

Yes, yes, Dilly, Jalen Brown surprising because it's not he
was like third in the MVP list this year, so
it's not like he's just kind of some guy flying
under the radar. I mean he's on the Celtics. He
was their guy this year.

Yeah, but he could be underrated because he's in He's
been in the shadow of Jason Tatum, and then people
finally were looking at him and saying he's equal, and
then looking at him this year and saying he surpassed
Jason Tatum. Now, of course Tatum was injured, but as
far as MVP candidate, h I was trumpeting his season
because I was like he they went from this is

a gap year too. We got a chance to go
to the NBA Finals and they should have blown a
three to one lead. But do you see where Jaylen
Brown got fined fifty fifty K for his comments about
the officials. I'm surprised he got off easy with fifty
thousand when you say the officials have an agenda and
the officials told you I gotta spank you one hundred thousand, Yes, do.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
The fine fines and pro sports are kind of funny
in general, Like we were a guy who's making fifty
five million dollars and you're like, that's gonna be twenty
five thousand dollars. Fine, you're like, that is a rounding error, yes, tum.

But if you're making a hundred thousand and then Adam
Silver and the powers that we could say you got
fifty of it back. If you have physical evidence that
shows there was an agenda you got any way you
can possibly prove that was said to you and then
you get half of it back.

On the topic of writers, one of the craziest riders
I ever heard of.

that they did that is they had a really complicated
set design and if something was set up improperly, they
someone could get hurt. And so they wanted to make

But anyway, the big main reason I wanted to call
it was I am just in awe of Lebron right now.
I mean, he's forty one years old and is leading
that offense. It's I really appreciate you guys not turning
this into a Jordan versus Lebron because it's just it's
just history that we're watching and I want to I

want to enjoy it. Final thing, I don't know if
you guys saw, but that Pablo Torre won a Pulitzer
for his story on the Clippers, and I completely forgotten
about that, and I think Steve Balmer was hoping I
would forget about it too. But I think this is
now going to be back in the light, and I
imagine that the NBA is going to now have to
take action because now the story has been legitimized by

the Pulitzer.

I was surprised, and I reached out to Pablo and
congratulated him, and he responded by saying, you know, thank you.

This is surreal.

The concern I have here is we don't know if
the story is true. Like Pablo did a deep dive
on you know, Kawhi Leonard, this company that was sponsoring
the Clippers, they gave him a job that he really
didn't have to do anything, but he made a lot
of money. Did they circumvent the salary cap? Okay, now

that sounds great, but I mean, you have to prove
that it's true. But that's why I was surprised with
the Pulitzer Prize being awarded to him on something that
I don't think has been confirmed by the NBA or
is Steve Balmer Kawhi, We have information, but I don't know.

I was kind of surprised at that that we don't
have that on lockdown, Yes, Paul.

According to a story this morning from ESPN, the investigation
by the NBA is ongoing now. The NBA hired an
outside firm to do the investigation. It started in September
and it is not wrapped up yet.

Yes, Dodd, can you give someone a pending Pulitzer Prize
and it's on standby and then once we get all
of the information you're actually receiving I don't know, like
Poltry prizing waiting.

That was one of those stories that I think kind
of ran out of steam a little bit too. Like
in the current news cycle, I don't think people are
that surprised that that's going on. I'm sure it is

If if it would had to do with Lebron, then
it would be a big deal. But it had to
do with Kawhi, the Clippers and some company you never
heard of.

there's going to be some Lebron hating coming up on

would go toe to toe with steven A. And I
would put my money on Nick right now. He's got
a job, he's got a show. But if they really
wanted to have debate and not just guys screaming at

that would shake things up a little bit. But Skip
Bayless coming back, stephen A said, oh, you know, I'm
always open to having you know, younger talent on Skip
Bayliss is seventy four, like younger than who, But you
know Skip's coming back for some reason. For a guest

tip off seven eastern on the mother Ship.

Everything's good how should Nick fans be feeling after Game one.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
Right now?
Speaker 12 (16:15):
Not just because of Game one, but because of the
way they closed out the Atlanta series.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
Nobody in the league is playing better than the Knicks.
Speaker 12 (16:20):
Of all the teams left in the playoffs, this is
the team right now that is the most dominant on
both ends of the floor. So they should be feeling very,
very confident. Look, Philadelphi is probably gonna give them their
best punch tonight. I expected the Knicks to win that
game rather handily, just because you know, Philly went seven
with Boston. They that's their you know, their nemesis that
(16:41):
continually knocks them out of the playoffs. They overcame a
three to one deficit. You turn around forty eight hours
later less than that, and you're, you know, playing the
Knicks in the garden who've been sitting there waiting on you.
So I kind of figured that. I didn't think it'd
be as bad as it was. I think now you
find out what kind of series this is going to be. Tonight,
Philadelphi's gonna punch back. But as I said, the Knicks
(17:02):
are in the best offensive rhythm they've been in all season,
and they are now combining that with a very physical,
energized defense. And this is what it looks like when
you get a team playing their absolute best basketball.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
But what changed They were down two to one to
the Hawks and then what clicked? What was different, you know,
from then on to where we are now.
Speaker 12 (17:26):
For me, the biggest change was mid series, and Mike
Brown's alluded to this, they had to unlock their offense.
And to me, when their offense was unlocked, it that's
what's kind of energized their defense.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
And how do they unlock their offense.
Speaker 12 (17:40):
They sort of changed the way they were utilizing Karl
Anthony Towns and where he was catching the ball and
including him as more of a guy that they could
go to early in the offense and he could use
his passing a little bit more. And it wasn't just
the assist numbers, like it's easy to say that if
a guy gets more assisted, oh, you know, they ran
the ball through him a little bit more. Like if
(18:00):
you watch them, it was obvious they're like, hey, listen,
Carl Anthony Towns lakes to catch the ball at the
top of the key and the elbows anyway, and he's
being guarded by a smaller guy in at Conguu who's
an undersized center. So Carl Anthony Towns has all these
passing windows available to him, and if that's where he
wants the ball, and he's gonna feel more included and
we're not gonna worry about it shot attempts because it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
Like he was shooting more as his scoring numbers weren't up.
Speaker 12 (18:22):
It was his inclusion and utilizing him from that spot
to start to like really run their offense and pick
them apart. And it unlocked things for Ojananobi and Michale
Bridges and.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
That's how they finished off that series.
Speaker 12 (18:37):
And then their defense just was was I said, more
up on their toes because things were going better on
the other end.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
And it's led to this. I give Mike Brown credit.
Speaker 12 (18:45):
Some guys are so married to how they want to
coach offensively, where guys should be. They know what's best
all the time. It takes, you know, a guy that's
willing to really look at his team mid series and say,
you know what, we need to adjust something. Here they
did it. It unlocked everything and here we go, man
four straight games and particularly these last two, you know,
(19:07):
it's it's almost perfect basketball that they're playing right now,
and it's gonna see what Philadelphia can do.
Speaker 7 (19:12):
To disrupt it.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
When it comes to a home court advantage, you know,
the Garden used to rock. It's still rocking now. But
you know we would single out Boston Garden, Madison Square Garden.
But what makes a true home court advantage? How does
that affect you as a player a visiting player?
Speaker 7 (19:31):
I think a big.
Speaker 12 (19:32):
Part of it is Number one, you know, they're just
they're ready at the tip and most of most of
the arenas you're talking about now, and then you know
teams that they're good teams that were the fan base things,
they really have a shot. That's typically the case in
the playoffs. But it is the lack of the peaks
and valleys throughout the game, you know what I mean.
And that's staying with your team when there is a
(19:52):
ten to two run the other way and staying in it,
understanding like just the pulse of the game and when
they need a little more from.
Speaker 7 (19:59):
You as a crowd.
Speaker 12 (20:01):
For me, I know, watching a game on television if
you're not in the building, I don't think there's any
arena that pops off like the Garden when the Knicks
are good, and the garden is rocking like nothing else
quite looks like that visually and in your city courts.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
I look, there are other great environments in this league.
Speaker 12 (20:19):
Okay, see is incredible right now, even Detroit like the
environment that they have right now going on. It's so loud,
so thunderous. So there are other arenas that you know,
can match what the Knicks crowd.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Is bringing to the table.
Speaker 12 (20:33):
But I think right now this fan base senses the
path is there. It's been laid like this is their
year to get back to the finals.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
And last year, last year, the path was there too.
They got rid of the Celtics tasting, Tatum gets hurt,
and all they had to do is get past the Pacers,
and everybody thought foregone conclusion. That's why if I'm a
Knicks fan, I'm like, okay, easy, one game, this is
probably going six or seven. You know, we've got to
slug it out here. You know, we're not gonna win
(21:03):
this in three. So I think having a sense of
reality would help.
Speaker 7 (21:10):
Yeah, well I think that.
Speaker 12 (21:11):
Listen, Northeast Corridor cities, New York, Philly, Boston similar in
this in this regard, right, So when when their teams
playing well like the Knicks are right now, it's like,
there's no way we can anybody can stop us. And
if they lose a couple of games in a row
like they did in the Atlanta series, it's like, oh my,
here we go, and you're talking about off season personnel
changes already you're down two one in a series. That's
(21:33):
just kind of how those cities work. It's why that's
why there's just such great passionate you know, fan base.
It is not always the easiest places to play as
as an athlete, but when when things are going well,
there's nothing quite like it, like that support that you're
going to get. And I just think the way that
everybody's sort of looking at the landscape in the East,
the Celtics are no longer there. You didn't have to
(21:55):
deal with the Pacers who were in the finals last
year because of the injury to Halli Burton.
Speaker 7 (21:59):
You'll Tatamy been missing most of the.
Speaker 12 (22:01):
Year, change the Celtics regular season, and they weren't able
to get it done.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
At the end.
Speaker 12 (22:06):
You've got a Detroit Pistons team that's a sixty win
team and elite defensive team. But I think you know,
the New York Knicks feel like, hey, you know, we
took care of them a year ago.
Speaker 7 (22:16):
Now I know the Pistons beat him up this year
in a regular season, so that'll be an interesting matchup if.
Speaker 12 (22:19):
We get there. A lot of basketball to be played.
But right now, I'm telling you, the Knicks are so confident.
Everybody in their starting lineup is playing well. They're getting
great contributions X factor type stuff from their bench. Seems
like Mike Brown's pushing all the right buttons right now.
It's just this incredible momentum surge for the New York
Knicks right now, and somebody's got to try to slow
this down. Philadelphia's got to try to make something happen.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
To night seventy six ers Knicks at the Garden on
the Mothership at seven Eastern watching the Lakers last night.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
There's only so much Lebron can do.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
The fact he's doing as much as he's doing at
his age is remarkable. And then I know people are
probably going to look at his comment where it sounded
like an excuse when he says, well, we don't have Luca.
It's a fact and he was asked about it, so
it's not like he said, oh we lost. Hey, keep
(23:12):
in mind, I don't have Luca out there. We're gonna
probably turn it. So you know it's against it's anti
Lebron because he's making excuses there. What do you expect
out of this series?
Speaker 7 (23:26):
I mean, look, he's listen.
Speaker 12 (23:27):
You can't deny the fact that you're talking about the
best defensive.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
Team in the NBA.
Speaker 12 (23:31):
And you know, it's an argument that san Antonio is
right there. Detroit is a great defense, so but to me,
Oklahoma City is the best defense in the league because
of the number of guys that they have on the
perimeter with elite lateral speed strength.

cheed Holmgrin back there as well. It's so difficult to
operate your offense against them because it's so difficult to

collapse defenses and take him out of the series It's

the officials. I'm surprised he got off easy with fifty
thousand when you say the officials have an agenda and
the officials told you I gotta spank you one hundred thousand, Yes, do.

Everything's good how should Nick fans be feeling after Game one.

Right now?

Not just because of Game one, but because of the
way they closed out the Atlanta series.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
Nobody in the league is playing better than the Knicks.
Speaker 12 (16:20):
Of all the teams left in the playoffs, this is
the team right now that is the most dominant on
both ends of the floor. So they should be feeling very,
very confident. Look, Philadelphi is probably gonna give them their
best punch tonight. I expected the Knicks to win that
game rather handily, just because you know, Philly went seven
with Boston. They that's their you know, their nemesis that
(16:41):
continually knocks them out of the playoffs. They overcame a
three to one deficit. You turn around forty eight hours
later less than that, and you're, you know, playing the
Knicks in the garden who've been sitting there waiting on you.
So I kind of figured that. I didn't think it'd
be as bad as it was. I think now you
find out what kind of series this is going to be. Tonight,
Philadelphi's gonna punch back. But as I said, the Knicks
(17:02):
are in the best offensive rhythm they've been in all season,
and they are now combining that with a very physical,
energized defense. And this is what it looks like when
you get a team playing their absolute best basketball.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
But what changed They were down two to one to
the Hawks and then what clicked? What was different, you know,
from then on to where we are now.
Speaker 12 (17:26):
For me, the biggest change was mid series, and Mike
Brown's alluded to this, they had to unlock their offense.
And to me, when their offense was unlocked, it that's
what's kind of energized their defense.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
And how do they unlock their offense.
Speaker 12 (17:40):
They sort of changed the way they were utilizing Karl
Anthony Towns and where he was catching the ball and
including him as more of a guy that they could
go to early in the offense and he could use
his passing a little bit more. And it wasn't just
the assist numbers, like it's easy to say that if
a guy gets more assisted, oh, you know, they ran
the ball through him a little bit more. Like if
(18:00):
you watch them, it was obvious they're like, hey, listen,
Carl Anthony Towns lakes to catch the ball at the
top of the key and the elbows anyway, and he's
being guarded by a smaller guy in at Conguu who's
an undersized center. So Carl Anthony Towns has all these
passing windows available to him, and if that's where he
wants the ball, and he's gonna feel more included and
we're not gonna worry about it shot attempts because it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
Like he was shooting more as his scoring numbers weren't up.
Speaker 12 (18:22):
It was his inclusion and utilizing him from that spot
to start to like really run their offense and pick
them apart. And it unlocked things for Ojananobi and Michale
Bridges and.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
That's how they finished off that series.
Speaker 12 (18:37):
And then their defense just was was I said, more
up on their toes because things were going better on
the other end.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
And it's led to this. I give Mike Brown credit.
Speaker 12 (18:45):
Some guys are so married to how they want to
coach offensively, where guys should be. They know what's best
all the time. It takes, you know, a guy that's
willing to really look at his team mid series and say,
you know what, we need to adjust something. Here they
did it. It unlocked everything and here we go, man
four straight games and particularly these last two, you know,
(19:07):
it's it's almost perfect basketball that they're playing right now,
and it's gonna see what Philadelphia can do.
Speaker 7 (19:12):
To disrupt it.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
When it comes to a home court advantage, you know,
the Garden used to rock. It's still rocking now. But
you know we would single out Boston Garden, Madison Square Garden.
But what makes a true home court advantage? How does
that affect you as a player a visiting player?
Speaker 7 (19:31):
I think a big.
Speaker 12 (19:32):
Part of it is Number one, you know, they're just
they're ready at the tip and most of most of
the arenas you're talking about now, and then you know
teams that they're good teams that were the fan base things,
they really have a shot. That's typically the case in
the playoffs. But it is the lack of the peaks
and valleys throughout the game, you know what I mean.
And that's staying with your team when there is a
(19:52):
ten to two run the other way and staying in it,
understanding like just the pulse of the game and when
they need a little more from.
Speaker 7 (19:59):
You as a crowd.
Speaker 12 (20:01):
For me, I know, watching a game on television if
you're not in the building, I don't think there's any
arena that pops off like the Garden when the Knicks
are good, and the garden is rocking like nothing else
quite looks like that visually and in your city courts.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
I look, there are other great environments in this league.
Speaker 12 (20:19):
Okay, see is incredible right now, even Detroit like the
environment that they have right now going on. It's so loud,
so thunderous. So there are other arenas that you know,
can match what the Knicks crowd.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Is bringing to the table.
Speaker 12 (20:33):
But I think right now this fan base senses the
path is there. It's been laid like this is their
year to get back to the finals.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
And last year, last year, the path was there too.
They got rid of the Celtics tasting, Tatum gets hurt,
and all they had to do is get past the Pacers,
and everybody thought foregone conclusion. That's why if I'm a
Knicks fan, I'm like, okay, easy, one game, this is
probably going six or seven. You know, we've got to
slug it out here. You know, we're not gonna win
(21:03):
this in three. So I think having a sense of
reality would help.
Speaker 7 (21:10):
Yeah, well I think that.
Speaker 12 (21:11):
Listen, Northeast Corridor cities, New York, Philly, Boston similar in
this in this regard, right, So when when their teams
playing well like the Knicks are right now, it's like,
there's no way we can anybody can stop us. And
if they lose a couple of games in a row
like they did in the Atlanta series, it's like, oh my,
here we go, and you're talking about off season personnel
changes already you're down two one in a series. That's
(21:33):
just kind of how those cities work. It's why that's
why there's just such great passionate you know, fan base.
It is not always the easiest places to play as
as an athlete, but when when things are going well,
there's nothing quite like it, like that support that you're
going to get. And I just think the way that
everybody's sort of looking at the landscape in the East,
the Celtics are no longer there. You didn't have to
(21:55):
deal with the Pacers who were in the finals last
year because of the injury to Halli Burton.
Speaker 7 (21:59):
You'll Tatamy been missing most of the.
Speaker 12 (22:01):
Year, change the Celtics regular season, and they weren't able
to get it done.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
At the end.
Speaker 12 (22:06):
You've got a Detroit Pistons team that's a sixty win
team and elite defensive team. But I think you know,
the New York Knicks feel like, hey, you know, we
took care of them a year ago.
Speaker 7 (22:16):
Now I know the Pistons beat him up this year
in a regular season, so that'll be an interesting matchup if.
Speaker 12 (22:19):
We get there. A lot of basketball to be played.
But right now, I'm telling you, the Knicks are so confident.
Everybody in their starting lineup is playing well. They're getting
great contributions X factor type stuff from their bench. Seems
like Mike Brown's pushing all the right buttons right now.
It's just this incredible momentum surge for the New York
Knicks right now, and somebody's got to try to slow
this down. Philadelphia's got to try to make something happen.

To night seventy six ers Knicks at the Garden on
the Mothership at seven Eastern watching the Lakers last night.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
There's only so much Lebron can do.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
The fact he's doing as much as he's doing at
his age is remarkable. And then I know people are
probably going to look at his comment where it sounded
like an excuse when he says, well, we don't have Luca.
It's a fact and he was asked about it, so
it's not like he said, oh we lost. Hey, keep
(23:12):
in mind, I don't have Luca out there. We're gonna
probably turn it. So you know it's against it's anti
Lebron because he's making excuses there. What do you expect
out of this series?
Speaker 7 (23:26):
I mean, look, he's listen.
Speaker 12 (23:27):
You can't deny the fact that you're talking about the
best defensive.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
Team in the NBA.
Speaker 12 (23:31):
And you know, it's an argument that san Antonio is
right there. Detroit is a great defense, so but to me,
Oklahoma City is the best defense in the league because
of the number of guys that they have on the
perimeter with elite lateral speed strength.
Speaker 7 (23:43):
They've just gotten.
Speaker 12 (23:44):
More of those guys than anybody, and they've also got
cheed Holmgrin back there as well. It's so difficult to
operate your offense against them because it's so difficult to
crack the outer shell and beat your guy, whether it's
picking roll or one on one and get by them
because they're so good defensively. So to take a guy
like Luka Doncic that's that big, that strong, that good offensively,
(24:06):
the best probably in the league at being able to
collapse defenses and take him out of the series It's
not an excuse.
Speaker 7 (24:12):
It is a reason.
Speaker 12 (24:13):
This is one of the best offensive players in the game,
and now you don't have him, you don't have an
in rhythm Austin Reeves, you know, so you know, credit
to him. He made it back. He's not close to
being at peak form. Austin Reeves is a major difference maker.
He's got a handle, he's got strength, he draws fouls.
He's really important in this series if the Lakers want
to have a chance. Austin Reeves really struggled last night
(24:36):
because he's only played a couple of games since he
came back from a very long layoff.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
It's a lot to ask to be.
Speaker 12 (24:41):
Thrust into this environment and expect him to be at
his best. So, yeah, I was watching the Amaos ling
and you kind of empathize with Lebron.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
I mean, Lebron couldn't played much better than he did.
Speaker 12 (24:51):
If you take him and Ruey Hatchamura take their shooting
percentages out of the mix, the rest of their team
shot twenty nine percent. You just can't get it done.
You've got to make your share of threes. You cannot
turn the ball over the way they did against that team,
and they just didn't play a clean enough game. The
bad news for the Lakers actually is I thought Oklahoma
City was like a seven out of their ten. Yeah,
that's about when I would rate them. There's a lot

more there for them. It was almost like they could
have been had last night if Austin Reeves was was
like more capable to give them a big night, and
they weren't able to do it.
Speaker 7 (25:21):
Oklahoma City. I think it's just going to get stronger
as the series goes on.
Speaker 12 (25:24):
Without Luka Doncicch, I think this is gonna be very
difficult for the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
What is like to play against somebody who's seven to six?
Speaker 12 (25:34):
Well, I never Yeah, I guess did I play against
seven six? Yeah, I guess Sean Bradley, I played with
a seven to seven. And I can tell you this,
like neither one of those guys looked like what Victor
Webber Yama looks like.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
Did you play those guys? George Marason, right, George marrasson
seven to seven?
Speaker 12 (25:52):
And I remember the first time I had laid eyes
when Jerry Marason when I joined the team, and it
was at Bouey State University where we were running pickup
games before the season.
Speaker 7 (26:00):
And I actually this is a true story.
Speaker 12 (26:02):
I was over getting like gatorade like out of the cooler,
the old style coolers, you know, I used to press
the little button where we were getting gatorade.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
And and and I'm.
Speaker 12 (26:10):
Telling you, a massive shadow approached me from from behind
and it kind of blocked out everything in front of me.
And I turned around and your your eyes were like
basically in his like solar plexus, like that's what you're
looking at.

And you kind of just look up at this guy
and it's it's it's.
Speaker 12 (26:27):
Really jolting because you obviously tall scout ever played in
the league. But you know, he wasn't out in the
perimeter jumping out on a switch and like staying with
a guard and then tracking them all the way to
the rim.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
If you brought the action right to George at the rim,
you were gonna have a problem scoring. But if you
gonna ask him.
Speaker 12 (26:44):
To move around laterally a little bit, there's a good
chance he was gonna get off balance and not get
there in time.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
That's not the case here. The league's never seen anything
like this.
Speaker 12 (26:51):
Defensively, the length we've seen, we've never seen the length
combined with this level of athleticism and agility. It's just
it's just and so for me, I've seen it. Sat
qurtz Id have called games with wemen Yama. I don't
know what that would feel like to try to drive
to the rim on a half court defense with Wemben
Yamas anywhere on the floor. It's just a totally different
approach mentally to what you think you can do well.

And I saw Anthony Edwards take a jumper over wemban
Yama and I was like, oh my god, Like, you know,
Joker had a fade away shot over Wemby, but you
know you're seeing Edwards, who's what six' three going up
against a guy who you know is seven to four
and with, that you know the you know what.

Was amazing about that, Shot dan was you know that
play you're talking? About he iowed him and what one
on one and he sort of tried to get him
to back, up but he backed up a little. Bit
