Seth and Tray are joined by NBA and Jordan Brand legend Quentin Richardson (aka Q-Rich) to break down which of his fellow Jordan athletes truly brought the heat, both on the court and in the sneaker game, during the 2000s.

Q shares the story of how he and his Los Angeles Clippers teammate Darius Miles decided to sign with Jordan as rookies, and why he’s remained loyal to the brand ever since.

The conversation highlights some of the biggest names to rock the Jumpman, including Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade. They also dive into the excitement inside NBA locker rooms when those coveted Jordan “Player Exclusives” would arrive, and how Q-Rich and D-Miles helped bring Jordan Brand style to the streets of L.A.

To close it out, all three reveal their Top 5 Jordan Brand players of the 2000s — and debate which of those guys would still dominate in today’s game.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, you gotta understand we eighteen nineteen, our rookie year.

(00:02):
We ain't got no business, nowhere to go, can't get
in nobody's club. We get a new bos. He'm like, hey, hey,
let's let's go put these on and go up to
the up to the west Chestermorrow just walk around and
stopping the shoe stores a couple of times, and.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
That was that was going viral. Welcome back to another
episode the greatest of their era. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Doctor? Straight? What up? What up?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
We got a good guest today.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Man, we got a great guest man, first round pick
Los Angeles Clippers in two thousand thirteen year NBA. Bet
my og. You know what I mean. We're gonna talk
about some some great stuff. You know, the host of
the Brain behind Us, the Knuckleheads podcast. You know we're
missing d Miles, but you know we got Quinn richardson
Chicago's on What's going on?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
You say, y'all boys, have me appreciated?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Man, we got a very fun episode. Uh, the greatest
Jordan Brand athlete to the two thousands. Q knows a
lot about this, got some of the best pees. But
we're gonna we're gonna were gonna get into it, you
know what I mean, because it's gonna be a strong
debate and I can't wait for our listeners to hop
in this conversation and see where it goes.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah, I got a quick question for you just about
your time when you first jumped on with the brand.
I know you're a Chicago guy obviously probably just like
everybody grew up loving the Jordan and the brand. What
was your thoughts when you first got the opportunity to
uh to join the brand?

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Crazy? Can't believe it? Like you know what I'm saying,
Like you said, from far as I can remember back,
you know, three four years old, the Jordans came out.
You know what I'm saying, That's what everybody had. You
know what I'm saying. We weren't really aint we were
able to getting those ja I ain't get my first
pair of Jordan's, so I was like maybe thirteen when

(01:52):
my my AU team started getting Nikes and I got
got the free pair right there. I never had no
Jordan before then. Being to go from that to you know,
me and d Miles coming into our rookie year being
handpicked by m J himself to be on the brand.
And then when you started getting the packages, it's it's crazy.
You can't even believe it. So it was like, yeah,
that was it was crazy to me. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
So for a background for our listeners that don't know,
Jordan Brown was created by Nike in the late nineties
and they carefully picked the stars that you know, uh,
they chose to endorse, and obviously Michael had a hand
in that. So we had like, you know, the very
first lineup of the team Jordan with Ray Allen, Vin Baker,
Derek Anderson, Michael Finley, Eddie Jones, some the lease and

(02:34):
then Q and D Miles you know, to kick off
the youth you know, for that early two y two
K surge of things. So we want to get into
this and talk about some certain players and their pees
and their player accomplishments and you know, just how how
you guys you know, matched up out there, especially choosing
the shoes that y'all wore. So the first player we're
going to talk about is Sugar Ray you know.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Reality Kandad the goat kinds of the goat, the of
the whole pee. I'm gonna say it, off the top,
he the goat when it comes to this like, if
you're talking about the pees, I mean Michael, you know,
Michael is Michael when I'm talking in the PE world,
Ray Allen, he got it, But go ahead, I don't
interrupt you no more.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
No, no, you're good. You good. So to piggyback off
of that, what I'm pretty sure you've seen some pairs
that the public haven't seen. And if they have, what
was a specific pair that you've seen Ray wear that,
you're like, Okay, he's up there with Mike.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And listen, you could go to any of the renditions, bro.
People forget about his Milwaukee days. He had some crazy,
crazy heat in Milwaukee. Then you really get crazy when
you go to Seattle with that green and yellow. No
Jordan's ever came in them colors up to this point,
you know what I'm saying. So that's where you know
what I'm saying. He separated itself dimnly kind of Boston.

(03:52):
He get the green and white, but not only do
we get the green and white, get he get the
ring ceremony joints. You know what I'm saying. This, This
is what level's Ray Allen up and take takes him
to the to the go to the PE status because
not only did he get the you know, we all
get him in the regular season and this, that, and third,
but he was fortunate enough once he hit Boston and

(04:14):
then to the Heat when they was really in the
prime of like the PEES generation. But like he got
them long playoff runs in a championship and then that
next year a ring Knight to be able to put
these bells and whistles on his whole PE compilation to
make it just go dummy, because like the year I
was in Foenix, they knew we were gonna go deep.

(04:35):
So like that was the longest run of peas I
got where I got different, the whole different flood. At
the second half of the season, we weren't going nowhere
in La So it was like the season and that
was it. And so when you get you add that on.
That's what That's what kind of separates Ray from everybody else.
The ring ceremonies, the long playoff runs, and then the

(04:57):
teams and the colors he played for, Like you know
what I'm saying, It just made it just different. It
was crazy.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Yeah, I remember first hand. My dad played with him
for a year in Milwaukee, and I was ahead of
the game I was. I collected like two or three pair.
I was like, grab me a couple of his pees.
I still had. I had in my room, my whole
my whole childhood growing up. Uh, the Milwaukee ray Allen
pe fire black and green green, a little bit of
yellow splash, and there it was.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
He was going crazy.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Now, most players getting an option to have a signature line,
I personally would always take the you know, the U
and ray Allen route because you just get to embody
the signature line. You don't have to fight with the
Shadow of Jordan, you know what I mean, and just
throw them colors on there. But we're gonna talk about
a signature athlete. Carmelo Anthony. He signed with the brand

(05:46):
in two thousand and three. The Mellow one zero point five,
you know what I mean, That went triple platinum in
the streets, you know what I mean, Like, that's a
shoe that's really slept on, you know, from I felt
like the first the five point fives as well. It
was another another banger that he had. But just like
the Mellow line, how how crazy was that to get

(06:06):
that Nuggets color away, especially the Nuggets, you know, changing
their franchise colors. To you know, like that that that
baby blue and a pinch of yellow and white and
it just stuck out, man, you know what I mean,
like mellow swag and then you know Jordan Brand and
and and the commercials. What what was it like? CML
get his get his get his shoe, you know what
I mean, especially being part of the Jordan family.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
It was dope. Man. It was dope to see him
because I mean, you kind of once once everybody, once
they signed, you knew it was coming, but it was
dope and he got like the first shoe, I felt
like you said, it was dope. It was a it
was a fire shoe. Guy was well received. And his
into into it was like, you know what I'm saying,
he had earned it to that point. You know what
I'm saying, he had put up crazy numbers and you
knew what he was gonna be. You knew he was

(06:48):
a superstar in to make and so he had earned it.
And then once it dropped, you know, we was all
just happy for him.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Man.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
It was like because at that point, me and man,
he did used to wear the pees for like I
want to say, maybe one year or so, because I
know for a fact he and him traded the white
the baby blue and white twelve. Me and him had
swapped those, and I played in the game with him
when we had the little alternate jerseys in him and
so I know he had them at one point, but
then once, I mean, you know, it's not like the

(07:16):
ultimate goal is to have your own shoe. I mean
the dope part did what the Jordan brand did for
us was like he gave us our own shoe without
having that. You know what I'm saying, do the whole
make a new shoe and give your own things. But
like that was like for us, that was like a
dope ass consolation prize. Like me, de Miles, Babie, you know, Finley,

(07:38):
a few of us, we weren't going to get to
that point to have our own signature shoe, but like
that was as dope as you could get for a
consolation prize because we still had Now we took the
shoe that we all loved and grew up on it
and was like falling over and we got our own
personal version of them. So it was like having your
own shoe, but it was just a shoe that was

(07:58):
already created. It was already ope. And for us It
was crazy, bro, because like you know, like we kind
of birthed the whole ped p uh time. It wasn't
before that. It was black shoes, white shoes, you know
what I'm saying. Then it was like they kind of
broke into it with that once. Once they came with
them cool grades. That kind of broke down the barriers
and then the floodgates opened after that. So to be

(08:20):
a part of that was just dope. Especially now all
these years later you look back on in hindsight and
see how the sneaker community has grown and how everybody
loved it. So it was dope.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
I want I want to ask you this about signing
with Jordan Bran because I know, like guy like yourself, mellow,
whoever big names, how highly drafted, just a lot of
a lot of pill in the streets, and y'all could
have signed with other brands and probably taking more money,
but you really go to Jordan for the love of
the game, Like you want you want that swag, you
want them Jordan's on your feet, so you might sacrifice

(08:52):
some bread to get those pees and stuff. What's what's
what was your mondseet when you were when you were
thinking about like do I take the bread because.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Like so I tell you this, I tell you this
is the first when we came out of as rookies,
right we Uh, I was the eighteenth pick. I wasn't
gonna get much bread, you know what I'm saying. I
was probably gonna get like the apparel deal which other
wed went Dee Miles was number three pick. How he's
taking us out of high school. He was like, you
know what I'm saying, the golden child. He had to glow,

(09:19):
so he was gonna get some change. We was being
courted super hard by and One back then we had
the N one tattoo on our arm, the and One man.
So like you know what I'm saying, we was being
We went to Jordan. We would go to Jordan camp
out in Santa barber Being like go out there and
just hoop with all of the college kids and the
top players and stuff in the pickup games after us.

(09:40):
So we was out there, we in all in one
stuff and it's after the game. We sat on the
side that you know, MJ getting ice, We drinking gettorade, water,
all that stuff. He looked at it like why y'all
got all that on, Like y'all y'all Nike guys like
y'all been Nike, and we was like, yeah, like we
ain't you know the contract whatever, you know how to
go with your the negotiations and all that. It was
taking too long or whatever. So MJ, don't worry about it.

(10:03):
Y'all gonna be with me. Like at this point, we
didn't even realize that it was like a Jordan brand,
and so like I went from not getting nothing to like,
you know what I'm saying, I'm about to get a
little change. It's gonna be more than what I was
gonna say I was, And then I'm with MJ. I
don't care either way. Even I didn't get paid, I
was cool with I'm with MJ. Whatever that meant. So
then when you get you fast forward, you know, after

(10:26):
that rookie contract, you get the chance to go again.
At this time, Reebok had jumped in the game and
they was going like they was doing like a meal
seven fifty to a meal around everybody everybody. And I
remember my agent come calling me talk so yeah, like, uh,
you know, I think I already know what you're gonna say,
but I got you know, I got to present this
to you anyway. So he telling me like so he said,

(10:48):
I said, I said, Jay yet, no, no, I'm not
going nowhere. You feel me like I'm not. It don't
even matter because number one them came and grabbed me
when when nobody wouldn't really rock with me. So that alone,
tying in with him being who he is to me
being a Chicago kid, and then all of that together,
like it's no way I'm walking away from this, and

(11:09):
like as y'all can see, like Trey, you know you
see me till this day. I always nothing else. Bro,
I'm talking about like twenty four seven every day of
the week. I'm walking around like my kids too. And
I'm talking about like I'm not the dude who want
to put on suits and do this and put now
as much anything that I could get, get get it

(11:31):
off with. I'm wearing this Jordan stuff. Anyway, they gonna
let me get it off. Look, it's getting off. I
ain't trying to put nothing on unnecessarily. I don't spend
money on a lot of clothes. I got the little
you know, we gotta dress up here and there. I
got a couple of little I don't do that, bro,
I'm in this stuff. I'm wearing flip flops Jays all day,
Like if I showed y'all my whole office, Like, bro,

(11:53):
it's just being being just taken a live by the Jays,
the whole everything behind me. It's Jay's everywhere like like
and I would have no other way, Like I feel,
you know what I'm saying, blessed. Like like you said,
I came in in two thousand, bro, Like this is
twenty twenty six and it's still being get in love

(12:15):
and like I ain't been playing since twenty thirteen. Bro,
like me Rip Mike Bibbie. We when we go on
to Border governorship, we talk about it all the time,
like how dope it is for them to still include
us and to have us around the guys and we
we mingle. We know all of the younger guys on
the brand. We talk to them, hang out and it's
like it's love, you know what I'm saying. Like it's

(12:36):
like it's like a it's like a real family, Like
you know what I'm saying. It's like I call it
the I call it the family reunion. Every sthing, every
sing we go to the border governments wherever they have it,
I call it the family reunion. Don't have it at whoever.
Family union's probably gonna be like a great big bulk
of people, but it's gonna be this cousin or this
auntie couldn't make it because they'd be a c like
some of the baseball guys gonna be able to make
it because they in season and different stuff. Sometimes the football,

(12:59):
some of the football. All guys got stuff going on,
but it'd be dope from all of the sports. And
it ain't just basketball. We all be there hanging out,
kicking it and just getting to know each other. You
already don't not just real talk because I see it.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I see it all the time, and some me and
ray Allen get out there and play golf all the summer.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
He Jordan's down. You don't see nothing else.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
And now they got that. They got on this golf line,
so he really gonna be coming with the stupid heat
like I got some some golf stuff like you I
got I gotta go a hand stuff out here. Show
d right waiting on. You know what I'm saying, Henry
D Wade and got way into it. I gotta I
gotta pull up in stunt of them. They be warning
like the little Hey, let me ask you that stuff
you be wearing a little dress, a little looking the

(13:38):
little dress joint.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
I mix it up. I like to get fresh out
there and go go prepper on him.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Sometime he looking like Carlton banksers man, he's pulling out
the cars and.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Man, go hit the brand man and tell him you
need a pe for the golf course. Man.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Look, I know I got enough flavors. I don't even
get out there as much labels. I got enough to
put on. I'm cool, Like, I just know. I'm just
saying bro. Like when they came to me about that, dude,
ain't no way I wear Georgian stuff twenty four seven,
Like they take care of my whole half of my swag.
And I were like, I ain't no, no, I don't
care how much bread they come with. I'm cool. I'm

(14:17):
right here.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
So another player that had a signature shoe, Chris Paul,
joining the brand in two thousand and six. The CP
three line uh some of the some of the early
the early brands of the early shoes that he had
on on the brand, some of my favorite that I
got the chance to play in. They were like they
fit the style of game for us for a point guard,
you know what I mean, loaded the ground, able to
make the cuts man, and you know, being with that brand,

(14:40):
like you mentioned, some guys just get pees that you
ain't never seen. And Cep is one of the guys.
Like every once in a while he'll calmly come out crazy.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
He'll call me a like, I.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Ain't doing nothing crazy right now, like just all regular
with it.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Yeah, and he'll have a nice little get down with it,
you know what I mean. And you looking you like dang,
like okay, Ceep got some heat, you know what I mean.
That people ain't really you know, because you know guys
like like them dudes, they they ain't really on the
internet posting it all the time, so you got to
really catch them out, you know what I'm saying. But
I love that you'd be kind of posting the halls
that you get sometimes when when it's a new mail call.

(15:18):
And that's how you still kind of debut how they
came out, because I don't know if self knew, but
like in high school, I used to follow quing them
all around like hey man, you know, like hey, these
these mob you know, even though you play in the NBA.
They they almost felt like college players, you know what
I mean, Like these are first dudes that's just really

(15:39):
professional but accessible, you know what i mean. So they
in west Chester, that demingis that they come into the games,
they catching us, they watching hoop. They they at the
areas where we at, and we would see like dang,
they got the nines that just ain't coming out, or
if they were coming out, they were like six to
seven months in advance. So like that's how we knew
certain shoes was coming out because I'm like, oh, you

(16:00):
Richman wearing a cool Grade nine.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
I don't know when to come out in two three
weeks before. Back then you was doing something.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Listen, no d Mile's favorite thing. Bro. You gotta understand
we eighteen nineteen, our rookie year. We ain't got no business,
nowhere to go, can't get in nobody's club. We get
a new boss em like, hey, hey, let's go put
these on and go up to the up to the
west Chester Marrow and just walk around and stop in
the shoe stores. A couple of times that.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Was going viral. That's going viral in real time, you
know what I'm saying. I nicknamed him the Swag Champs.
Thought it was Swag Champs before the Swag Champs because ideally,
if camera phones was around, y'all would constantly be on
Nice Kicks every possible blog, because y'all would be debuting
all these stickers before anybody, before they hit the court,
you know what I mean. And y'all deserve a little

(16:50):
bit more credit for mixing it with clothes, you get
what I'm saying. Like a lot of people talk about
y'all on course stuff, but I got a chance to
see y'all like dress it up, you know what I mean.
Like that made it even more like, Okay, I can
get a fit off with this because I seen y'all
pull it off, whether it's a white tea, nice jeans
and chain like that was just you know what I mean.
And you can't leave about this thing right here. Man,

(17:12):
you know got too young.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I still got mine too crazy. That was a time
capsule right there, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
You had that. That's a part of the fit, you
know what I mean. So thinking about it that way, man, y'all,
y'all definitely played a huge role in making Jordan's lifestyle,
you know what I mean, y'all I feel like that's
that gets omitted from the story. Most of the time
they say, Oh, I'm in the d Boys or this
person or not. Hey, don't forget the two thousand Clippers, bro,
because you know, y'all made that real cool. You know

(17:45):
what I'm saying. To a point of the bling blink
era off of Hoop, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Yeah, quick story about this is the first time I
learned about to push pull with Nike because I was
in college.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
I went to one of his camps.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
He threw me like three four pair of signature kicks
maybe like the threes and I rock when they were
comfortable playing, and we went to the garden and I
and I wore them. I was at Duke a warm
in the garden in the game. It was a big
game on ESPN. And we got back to campus and
they called me in. It was like, you can't wear
the Jordan's no more.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
I said, what, you can't wear them no more?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
We're in Nike school. You gotta have Nike on your
feet when you go out. And I'm like, I'm thinking
Jordan and Nike the same thing. But it's a slight.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Respectfully competitive same umbrella but respectfully competitive. Same thing with Converse, Inc.
You know what I mean. So like they there, but like, hey,
we want to you know, because that that thing happens
if Jordan's doing ten billion or whatever sales and Nike
doing and it's a slow year, I get to come
in with them negotiations like hey, I earned said money

(18:48):
for y'all, you know what I mean, Like now we
gotta you know, renegotiate. So it's definitely interesting when you
when you think about getting guys, especially to wear certain stuff,
and you know, like QS told this on other platforms
about seeing guys that he didn't even know had his shoes,
you know what I mean, like Bron having a pair
of his nines d Wade in Summer League, which he

(19:09):
did give to him, but you know, just thinking about
like hey, how you get those? And then you know PJ.
Tucker obviously he ended up with everything.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
But listen that whole that's an anomaly how them boys
get the aftermarket stuff like you can have Matin. I mean,
like I understand exactly how Lebron got him. It was
just a surprise that he had him. But d Wade,
mellow I gave those to him. I like I said,
I used to send stuff to TJ Ford in college,
like knowing him from from Jordan Camp and stuff like that.

(19:38):
But yeah, it's like that that whole aftermarket thing that
PJ that thought he was young like that too, though
he just not don't be out here like PJ. Tucky is.
But dad young got some crazy. He didn't eat me
and him and talked on d M and stuff, and
he didn't send me a couple of flicks of some
of my stuff. I'm like, this is crazy, same style

(19:58):
like PJ. I don't know if he goes d fin
it's crazy at PJ dude, but he definitely got it.
He got he got a little arsenal that people don't
know about. Uh.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
We have another Chicago legend, Michael Finley, you know what
I'm saying. Finn Dog, two time All Star but definitely
has some heat, some quiet heat, you know what I mean,
Those Maverick years, those San Antonio Spurs years, like he
he wore the cool grayce I mean, Mike Warrem, But
like it's just certain players that embody that's the the

(20:28):
pe and you look and you're like, dang, they wore them.
And we talked about Lou al danglaring the Flint Twelves
with Duke. There's just certain certain performances that guys have
that stick out, you know what I mean. So Mike
Finley talk about like him being the og but also
just that Chicago pipeline of Jordan's Finley Chicago and just listen,

(20:49):
just having somebody familiar territory on the brand.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
I tell you about Finn right, Finn Finn, Mike Finn
and Juwan Howard right, Juan Howard another Jordan brand new.
But like when you talk like when you talk about
Fearing being cool and embodying the cool gray right, Me
and d Maut, Like when we would get to when
we was at hoops all of those early years going
to hoops to gym with Tim Grover working out right,

(21:14):
Fannball and Wan was the old ogz. They showing up
by the time we get that they finishing up, They
icing up, chilling, getting their little shakes or whatever, about
to go vibe and get some lunch or something and
come back with her for the runs are too. But
when I tell you, we used to look at these
dudes like they was like the MENI Michael Jordan's suck

(21:36):
like Mike shore up, he gonna show up with a whip.
You ain't never seen that, you like if you heard
of it, you definitely ain't seen it though, Like you
know what I'm saying, like, dang, like what is oh?
Let me look like like that's how Mike Feeing and
Wan was coming. Like when I say, like, I'm looking
at them like yeah, like and I'm talking about on
some Chicago got all the respect, hood respect, like NBA respect,

(22:01):
like big doll respect, oh here, respect, the community respect,
all of that. Like I'm like, man like they was
the picture of perfection. Like to this day we call
it the Mike f and Tucky and Mike Finn be
out there straight like MJ. I'm talking we in pick
up though he just forget the NBA jersey. We and
pick up man. Fennball got the coldest tuck, the neatest

(22:22):
tuck untuck you'dne ever seen in your life. And don't
never come on loose like perfect like we used to be.
We used to always like like them was the two
two dudes. We look like, yeah, like we gotta get
that type of respect cause like handling your business. You
know what I'm saying, You don't never hear nothing out
of line about neither one of them. They do all

(22:42):
of you know what I'm saying. They checking the boxes,
handle their business and all the little stuff you hear
come out about this. You don't never hear nothing about
no bad stuff about by feeling and nuke, you know
what I'm saying. So it was like, like you said,
the coolest dude out there come in always handle this
business and was giving dudes the blues. Don't never forget
Fenn Ball was certified bucket and gave gave fools hell

(23:03):
for years. Like you know what I'm saying. I feel
like some of the some of the ogs, they just
don't get talked about nothing. Then definitely wanted to do it.
He was a silent and kill silent assassin anyway, and
so he don't really get the love for being a
bucket and giving people the blues like he did. He
was a certified problem in.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
His time on this show. He does for sure one
of the ones.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Bro like for real that that that two step jump
in the lane and then he just gonna boy boy,
y'all ask somebody you get.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Here in the front off here in the front off
of the mask. Now Ue to ask me if he
iron his sweatsuits. He coming so Christian.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Even like to this day, right now today he gonna
come in question everything. Look look you talking like he
said his sweatsuit.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah's crazy boy.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Listen boy, ain't nothing look, ain't nothing to overlap, ain't
nothing fallow everything hitting the right boy on play he clean, boy,
I'm telling you feel me on that.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah, that's hey, that's that's how you like you mentioned
you want that respect man earned. And also look we
talking about him not even hope shoes, were just talking
about just overall how he just carried himself man, and
and and that's that's just how you want to be represented.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
And he's still killing it, like you know, like like
he just said, right up in the front office, then
there remain there started at one level that made his
way up. Like you know what I'm saying, You don't
stick around in the league and and move up and
do different things if you ain't handling your business according here.
So that's definitely you know what I'm saying. He's showing
that he's doing his thing over that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Absolutely Another O g Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones is one
of my favorite Lakers. I remember the jump in Pro
and then he got the Swift six. You know, he
actually had a sick underrated God. He's a guy actually
we would love to have on this show. I like

(24:57):
that he's kind of like not doing much like talking,
you know what I mean, just kind of chilling in
the background. But definitely a lot of people. You know,
he used to take them free throw line layups, don't
take off, don't take.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Off so far, like one inside the three with a
finger Roz. Yeah, like bro.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
But he he also you know, growing up in l
a even if you if you didn't like the Lakers,
you liked Eddie Jones. Man Jones was definitely putting on
before you know, being got there and even when playing
alongside being they they had they had a cool little
squad man. So he j had had some cool pees
as well. Man playing with Miami and Charlotte, you know,
and and the Jordan Brand team took care of him. Man,

(25:41):
what's it did you ever get a you? I mean yeah,
because he was he was. He was later down in
the line too as well in the early two thousands.
Any anything that stuck out, you know with EJ you know,
guarding him or you know, what I mean just working
out or anything.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
That that stuck out a problem defensively, bro, like for real,
Like but like you said, you one of my favorite players,
you know what I'm saying, Like like I remember when
he first came, Like when you didn't think when you
ain't know Kobe was that nice? You were salty. The
Lakers got like just moved moved. Eddie Jones are like, damn,
they just did Eddie like that, Like clearly you know
he wasn't he didn't get to play Kobe the first

(26:16):
two years. He need to get to play and show us.
And so I'm looking at like how you just gonna
diss my dog? And he's young, and I mean, you know,
obviously we see what Kobe became, but what they saw
that we didn't. But like yeah, e J. Doll, Like
when I remember me and d Mile because like that
was one of d Mile's favorite players. So I remember
us talking about like when we got on the Jordan brand,
like we was looking around like damn, like like we

(26:39):
kind of like we was like an elite task for
we was called ourselves like a swat team because it
was only like eight of us and it was like
we was all like in our own right, we felt
like we had like all killers like you had Bib
you know what I'm saying, Because at that like you said,
you just ran off the DA Derick Anderson to Van Baker,
Eddie Ray. So it was only like five six in
that original class and it was, like I want to say,

(27:00):
Ray Allen was the first dude Mike ever asked to
do it. So that's another part of his little legend
that he got too. You feel me like, but I
came and got me, yeah, like you know what I'm saying. Then,
like when we got an we was like dang, like
we got we got picked at rookies from fresh fresh out,
like coming straight in. We ain't like I ain't never
want nothing else since I got to the NBA. So

(27:21):
it's like that's like a crazy, crazy thing. But like
EJ him then and all of that, they made us
feel like dang, we just got brought brought into like
a little tactical unit just like cold, like you know
what I'm saying, because it's like at that point we
we thought it was we didn't know it was not
Nike or Nike or whatever. We just felt like we
were still all that. But like we was like in

(27:43):
a little like a little different task force over here,
and we felt like, man, we got a little and
cold stuff going on it because it was only eight
of us.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Well, speaking of talk about yourself, you know what I mean?
Three point champion with the Sons, you know what I mean?
And had a a thor of pees. I think my
favorite pees that you had was with the Knicks. I
felt like they got you right.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
With the Knicks, they about to come out with not right,
those look familiar.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Yeah, and and and and and we've had a conversation
about like how you know all of a sudden the
colors that they made for you are becoming retail. It
was very, very very interesting. But throughout your planning career,
can you think of once you that you know, if
you had the top three of Q Rich pees, which

(28:33):
ones would they be? Ranked? One to three?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Oh so one of three? It's crazy, because like I
had some crazy was it? I think nine's in l A.
I had some crazy white the white and red ones
there it was mostly red that Stanley Johnson where in Detroit.

(28:56):
Then I had the Twols that was crazy. Phoenix was
nuts though because it was the orange and purple in
the different colors, like I had the all black with
the green bottom thirteens. I had the white and purple thirteen.
I had the white and orange. I had to say
them thirteens because see I had the thirteen that was

(29:18):
my favorite shooter hoopie in period. So them and the
magic joints. That the magic ones, the ones that came
to retail with the white and blue ones, and then
the black and blue ones. Yep, so the thirteens, the
nick ights in white and black, those are like an
all time crazy pay and those the black ones are

(29:40):
about to come out now. Then I probably had to
go the New York five. Pick either white ones.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
I gotta look that up. I don't even remember your fives.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
I had the New York fives white and white and
white and black with the blue orange.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
And I was having this conversation with somebody else. I
think that the pe kind of dying with the new
the new rule in the league, because you know, back
like when you was playing, you had to wear team colors,
a certain amount of team colors. You weren't allowed to
play in the shoes, right my first couple of years,
it was the same way. So like the part of
hype was so ill back in the day because you

(30:22):
knew what team they were on when they wore those shoes.
And now you can make I can do it, I
can do it whatever.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
It could be green and pink, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
And I'm playing, I'm playing for the Max, playing for whoever.
You don't really you got to know to know what
team they was with, But back then you kind of knew,
like it related to the time, to the exactly they
were playing and stuff like that. That's why it just
don't hit the same. Like Kayler cart got a pe,
it's not even her team colors, so it's just just
another coloorway of the Kobe's, you know.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
What I'm saying. Yeah, I feel that that kind of
changeing and like take some of that little nostalgia where
like you said, you don't even have to know, you
just kind of look at the shoe and see the
crubors like, okay, already with these where and when you
know you could look up at the time, you didn't
know it.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
But I feel yeah, absolutely, I mean both both can
be subjective, you know what I mean? Storytelling, right, you
think about how you lean into like you know Tatum
has the I think the Mustang fourteen or you know,
like yeah, you know, like that's cool.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
But he got some crazy you don't pop out, but
he got.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Some I was gonna say, his one of ones and
his his quiet pees.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
Don't get talked about enough, like if it got a
real meaning behind you telling the story about something that
relates to you that has a little different than me. Yeah, absolutely,
Yeah another you're you're you're counting part Dere's Myles new
school energy, high profile pees with the clippers.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
His calf stuff is the best. To me. I feel
like his calf mm hmm. They laced him. They they
laced him.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
I agree with you one hundred percent. It was a
couple like when he first got to the caves and
he shot me some pictures and stuff, I was salty.
I was like, oh, man, like I'm for real little
jealous right now. You know how you already got a
couple of years used to this red and white and blue.
It's like this man just flashed out with when he
came what was it was those nines or twelves that
was on when boy, when he came out with those,

(32:23):
I was like, oh, my goodness, Like he really, Bro
was really wearing them in the streets. He was like
really rocking up like it's I promise you. We got
pictures in him like I think he was sitting courtside
in my game in l A with them on, Like.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
He had a bag baggy sweats on.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Yeah, like man, yeah with the with the I'll say,
because that was that hard you had you couldn't just
open them. That was crazy Jack. That was all I
was remember. I can remember when he sent those to me.
I was like, oh man, he gone kill them, like
that was our thing. We love to pop out with this.
I'm telling you, Bro, I don't care what team it is.

(33:08):
I don't care what even now you in the league,
you got any Jordan Brand members on your team?

Speaker 4 (33:13):
No, we don't got any Jordan on the Warriors right now?
Now play with I mean, last last, I'm gonna say.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Charlotte, how everybody act whenever the Jordan Brand dude kicks
come in when his kids this time, looking like everybody,
what what?

Speaker 4 (33:28):
What?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
What you get? What? What's going on? Like especially like
like I say, I don't I can't speak as much
for now because it ain't the pe. But like when
our stuff was coming, like we didn't even know what
was gonna look like, and so it was like everybody
got doing the round like oh man, like they said
them like, oh this is crazy, Like you know what
I'm saying seeing them shoes from the childhood now put

(33:51):
into our colors with our logo and they like hey bro.
Like that was. That was a feeling where like you know,
like you know what I'm saying, sometimes you want to
feel that twice, Like that's one of them feelings right
there when you get that new box with it, you
know what I'm saying, and it's your your pees and
it's your color Like that was. That's a vibe right there.
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
It's a little different now in the league because they
want people wearing the tatums and the signature shoes and
not but they still get the Jordan releases early.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, that's a big thing. That's still hit different too.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Next player Mike Bibby, known for his extensive collection that
black and purple man like a lot, and he kept
that thing going because it's a lot of a lot
of shoes that had never seen in the low top
that they custom for Mike and I just like I'm.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Gonna say, I'm gonna say this about about anybody we mentioned,
Billy probably got mussed up than anybody. Anybody, anybody we're
talking about, I'm talking about. Listen, my boys, and we
messed with bybody every time we get together. When I
say my boy was a blood hand, he was getting

(35:03):
that whatever, Like hey, the Marty Mcflyesnike, I know he
was getting that, Like Bib was a bloodhound, Like he
was what I would call like a true true sneak
ahead like me, like people call me that. I don't
never believe I was. I just got all the free
Jordan stuff, that's all. Like I never went outside of
that and when it got there or that, I never

(35:24):
called about some nikes or what like. I just I
just took what they gave. You feel me, Like sometimes
if I like a shoe or so, I might ask
for a couple more pairs of them or something because
I know I'm a wearing him or something. But like
I was never like like going crazy like that, like
Bb like bro Man Man's got his stories just crazy.
I'm talking about this. It's a he got like he

(35:47):
he wanted a few dudes who got like a multiple
multiple pairs of his old kicks and everything is just
everything in jo I couldn't even fathom, like if I
went out there, what we would watch, what we would
see in his story because Bib is a food weity
don't talking about he getting that. He's a dude that
I know, Like we have talked about it, like nothing

(36:08):
better than getting the boxes, like and he still got
that same feeling from two thousand right now in twenty
twenty six, Jack were getting that.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
I just I hooped against him out in Phoenix at
the Paradise Valley like community League or whatever.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Well out there in the tank time.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Yeah, he looked like he only do this, you know
what I'm saying. And he and he got the he's
the king of I thought everybody called Magic Johnson and
King of Phantom calls Bib, Mike Gotti, Bib, Bib gonna
call a foul Bro, Bib gon call a foul.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
You ain't nowhere, dear, we call a file that's going
right back up top of I can't do that with you, Bro.
But I kept looking down at his feet. Yeah, something
I ain't never seen. I'm like, bro, you still getting
these and It probably was from the original, you know collection,
but I can only imagine what sacrament on Memphis, Miami,

(37:01):
New York like flame verse.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yeah, and all low cut locut, him and him and
DA they made that. They made that. Like the whole
public can thank those two forgetting any low cut Jordan.
You see, they can think Mike Bibb and Derek Hannison,
them boys. I don't remember who how it started or whatever,
but I know those were the two guys doing it.

(37:25):
I don't I can't, I don't can't recall which one
of them did it first, but those two were the
guys I was doing it that made it, made it
a thing and made it come to retail and made
it fly like that.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
I was gonna segue and say, Derek Anderson is the
first on record to you know, have the locut eleven
Jordan eleven lo cut conquered. And he just felt like
he played better in low top shoes, and you know,
everybody kind of looked at him kind of like in
madness because the high top shoe was a shoe, like
you know what I mean, everybody had the stereotype of, oh,

(37:58):
you're gonna roll your ankle. This ain't a basketball style shoe.
DA was just you know, and Jordan Brand continued to
you know, apply that for.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Him and yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
And many they look great too many.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
I used to look at him, know who did it first?
I just know that I you know, sometimes you can't
remember how stuff actually went. I just know that them
two were the two guys that you knew. Like when
I started seeing I'm like, I ain't hooping to know
Low because I'm like what you're just saying, Nah, I'm
not going like I never, no, never, I'm going.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
It took it. It took very roughly. Yeah, wearing wearing them,
I mean, I think they're better to be worn off
the court as lotos, but playing in them is a
mental thing because like think about even the time, the
prime years, we were wearing the McDavid ankle braces, you
know what I mean, if you had a real injury,

(38:52):
if you had a if you wrote a go once,
you're wearing the braces over the socks like that was it.
It wasn't.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
The tape was eights too though, remember those.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
And they pushed those out in two thousand, two thousand one,
two thousand and two, right after you know what I
mean that that great series he had, but just thinking
about like, hey, I really can hoop in low top shoes.
And then obviously Kobe pushes the Kobe four and and
now it's a whole shift in the league. Everybody has
to have low top sneakers. But these are the guys
that were taking a chance. And you know, you still

(39:26):
got some old heads that come in and say the
reason why these achilles and hamstring injuries and you know
this and that is because they're stop wearing high tops.
I don't know about that, but I will say fashionally,
they do look better.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Irons can't say so because they wouldn't do that if
they were like the they so advanced. Science can't say that.
So I don't think that's it. But like I just
it wasn't That wasn't me. I wouldn't bearn no low
cuts for sull.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Now, another guy that's an unsung hero on the brand,
Van Baker make the Vindicants. We were those as our
team shoe.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
On the brand.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
He was yeah, shout out man. Then Baker Man. That's
the og. One of the coolest dudes you will ever meet,
coolest heck dog every time. I love getting a chance
to talk to him. At the Board of Governors. You
know what I'm saying, just be on some og chilling
cool vibes. But was a murderer out that was one
of the first real bigs that was stepping out giving

(40:22):
people the blues, blues with a little mixed to him.
You know what I'm saying. He had some boogie to him.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Talk about how he how effective he was in a
real feel actually defending and being on the court with
Ben Baker, he can get everything.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, he had hit the jumper, he had bang that thing.
Oh he protected the rim and like I say, he
could step out and like he could boogie on the bigs.
He could make them have to move on puppies and
get him some shimmy and you know what I'm saying,
get to his money. Like then was nice that fifteen
eighteen foot he catch you out there on that met
post and reverse inside, pivot on you and face up.
Oh it's a problem right here. Yeah he look then

(40:59):
was why you think you said he had the vindicants.
He had his own first feed like he because man
was one of them one boy he was like he
had he had this time where he was the one
of them dudes out there for.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Four seasons twenty one and ten. So at that time,
you know what.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
I mean, really that real bigs out there, real real
like it was gangst the and there it wasn't sweet.
That's big numbers during that time.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Yeah, nah, I think I think that's that's the one
thing that that gets kind of a blip in the
note is how physical and when you think about the
true power for it, Like I mean, you know, we
talked about it many times about you playing outside of
you know you when I first seen you as a rookie,
I thought you were like roughly sixteen sixty nine, and

(41:46):
you show up and you're leading the nation and rebounding
and then he transferring that game and being able to
guard also you know, bigger guys than you, you know
what I mean, off off natural strength. So that's an
attest to that that era that you guys played in. Yeah,
he had the honorable mention that we have on here
and got you could speak to us this Dwyane Wade.

(42:07):
He had the one twenty ten pairs its twenty tens
with the circle the twenty fifth anniversary.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
Yeah. Yeah, he was a flag bearer for those those
kind of like his own shoe.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Yeah, the d Wade twenty tens man those were interesting.
I thought he was gonna stick around, you know, obviously
he's building his own wave over there, you know, with
Way and Way and continue to do his thing. But
I remember Man leaving conversing and going to the Jordan.
It just felt like it was the right fit. You know,
he went bald war the Number nine team say he

(42:40):
was he was locked. When everybody give Kobe a hard
time of the Jordan cosplay, Wade was just there too.
He was locked all the listen.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
That was like, I mean, like that was something like
I say the same thing for me, but I mean
for d Wade it was even on the larger scale.
So you know what I'm saying for who he was,
But like we we Chicago kids and heart man, we
grew up idolizing this man and for him, especially for
somebody like d Wade that was in his position. Like
when he came over to the brand, that was like

(43:08):
him and MJ partner up. Partnering up. MJ was kind
of he put him out in the brand kind of
like it was a face that year, like you said,
put that that that flagship shoe was kind of d
Wade's shoe he unveiled it. They had the picture of
them back to back. I was like, it's too dope,
you know what I'm saying. Like, So for d Wade,
like no matter how long it lasted, I know, for him,

(43:28):
that was something that that he can have for his
life that like you know what I'm saying, Like my
idol came and got me and had me in the
forefront of his brand, which is one of the biggest
in the world, and had me carry that flag for
him until I decided to make this move. So I
mean and obviously even when he made the move, you
know what I'm saying, him and Mike talk and he
knew Mike, you know what I'm saying, gave him the

(43:49):
head nod like you're doing some lifetime type spe shit.
So it was all love. It wasn't like gonna know,
oh he over here and he did this like you
see when they saw each other tar save fightt love.
So it was like it was done the right way
and like that's who the way it is man. He's
gonna handle things the right way and do it to
do it the way it was supposed to be done.
So I was happy for him, and I think what

(44:10):
he's done with way away, you know what I'm saying.
Nobody could have ever thought that, Like all of the
stores he got overseas in China and he killing the
market over there, and they starting to do better over here,
you know what I'm saying, And like his shoes has
gotten better and everything, like I be messing. I used
to mess with him at first, like now what the
you know what I'm saying, But like they got better
and better and better. It's all things do. And like

(44:30):
he put more input and like to see how it
looked when he go over there, Bros. For his tours
and the visits, Like come on, man, like that's unbelievable,
unreal the type of the note that you impacted that
many people and that many people coming out to see
you every time you go over there, and then you
got all those stores. It's doing that. So like he did,
he did like a lifetime movement, which was the right move. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Absolutely, all right, we're gonna take a quick break and
when we come back, Q rich self and myself are
gonna give our top five greatest Jordan Brand athletes of
the two thousands, Right, Q, we ran through all these

(45:21):
players you mentioned. Obviously you're obvious number one, but we're
curious to hear your top five Jordan Brand athletes with
the signature shoe.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
I have to go, like I said, Ray Allen number
one for me. He he got he got all the
titles when we talk about the these guys. Uh, I
guess I would have to say let alone number two
because he is the first guy to ever have a PE,
and you know what I'm saying, he held it the longest,

(45:52):
the longest title with that. Then I would have to
say CP after that because then he had the PE
probably for the longest time. After CE, I mean after Mellow,
after Ray Allen, Mellow CP, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna

(46:12):
go Bibby. Bibby is, like you know what I'm saying,
one of the iconic guys with the brand. And even
though even though he's he's he's new and he's young.
I think I'm gonna have to Now we're going two thousands, right,

(46:34):
We're not going to that's the case. Okay, Yeah, I
got Ray Mellow, CP, Bibby, I'm gonna go d A
after that, Derrick Hannison, I feel like, you know what
I'm saying you said he was the first one to
do the low cut and then that thing that went
nationwide with the coaches. So I feel like he he

(46:56):
deserves recruidos for that.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
Yeah, absolutely that you got.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
I'm gonna go my five. I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm
gonna keep it. Uh yeah, I keep it Mike. I
got Mike Finley number five. I got Mellow three, I
mean Mellow four. I got c P three number three.
I got q rish and and d Miles both two
A two B that they took it from like the
professional suit wearing to the to the culture and kind

(47:23):
of because you had that first five who was just
real clean cutting and like really following the footsteps of Mike,
and they brought it to a different level.

Speaker 3 (47:31):
Now I got Ray Allen number one. Like I said,
I grew up, I grew up waking up looking at
his pe so one.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
Yeah, I love I love those selections. I'm close, uh
to the similarities. At five, I got d A for
the the innovation of the low top. At four, I
got again Split c rich and Darius Miles for you know,
being the young ambassadors. At three, I got low At two,

(48:02):
I got Bibi just because you know, just just the culture,
but also just pushing it, just being I don't know,
as you say, bloodhound, uh, you know, being adamant about
about pressing you know what I mean, and getting these
these printed up in may you know what I mean.
And then obviously ray allity respectfully.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
At one you gotta thrown Hamilton and there bring him up.
He's had some crazy heat even though he didn't join
as early as we did, but he still was right
there in the prime of thee the Wizard Detroit Piston
he was.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
He was wearing them with Mike.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
He said.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
He was wearing the shoes with the mic like for real,
like so like the underrated shoes is it?

Speaker 3 (48:45):
Did you wear the FBI?

Speaker 1 (48:48):
What's the FBI?

Speaker 2 (48:49):
It had like the color, it had the JUMPMN swoosh,
but it was kind of like blue or red. Mike
played in them a little bit. I think, oh one,
it's like.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Certain I just can't remember.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
But he wore them and it was like a non sig.
But like I want to say, Rip had like a
great cot like he was. Mike was like he was
just passing. I'm like, hey, here, where do you tonight?
You know what I mean, like so.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Once he got to Mike told him you got to
be an All Star, it was it was either be
an All Star winning championship one of the two. Whenever
he did that, it was it was up there saying,
you know, that's fire.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
That's a great challenge though, you know what I mean,
especially if you really want to shoot that bad, like, allright.

Speaker 1 (49:28):
Prove it.

Speaker 2 (49:28):
Come on, I ain't gonna say no.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
Yeah, I had Yeah, we all had done.

Speaker 2 (49:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
Yeah. That was like like kind of like a team
shoot that. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
It was like a crazy Yeah you can pull it off.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Yeah, it's crazy with your influence because that and another
shoot that you had that comes with the with the cap,
right with the lace cap you wore, they were kind
of soft. I forgot the name of those joints that
you wore with the clippers, but I influenced us to
go get those two the numbs, like y'all.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
That was the point. And look, that was the brand's point,
like we want like everybody gonna go batter retros anyway,
so like let's lade these little cures in there one
time and get them into rotation again. Like so when
they see y'all flip flop out because they would only
send us so many pairs of the retro, so we
couldn't just wear strictly retros. You had to save something
of them joints and be like, all right, we're gonna

(50:24):
pick and shoes the TV games and this and that.
So you had to have them little pures, the teams whatever,
those the MBIs like, you had to have them in
the rotation throughout the whole eighty two games. He's and
practices like you can't wear the pees every.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
Day every time? Yeah, no, I get it, man. And
that's that's just.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
The other shout out for Rip was this. He did
this for the league, for the brand like we would
get like say like the Cool Grades or the thirteen.
He got games right when they before they come now,
like when we would get them, like you said, we
would get them well before, and they would tell us, hey,
don't nobody wear these shoes until next day. Whatever day, man,

(51:04):
we go home, turn on TV, Vibby orrib Hamilton got
him on a SAP that first day, I promise y'all. Like,
and then after that first day they did that the
next day, here come me in black with y'all. Saw
that ain't say none of them. Man, he was, I
tell you, they get the email, the measuresboders don't wear

(51:27):
and you go me and me and Bibby and Rip
laughing about this all the time. Rip was like, man,
you already know what message. I ain't getting no message.
I got the shoes and I'm wearing. So they used
to make them joints come faster than did. Y'all saw
them faster they was supposed to, because I promise you
they did that a lot. They send them shoes, don't
wear them. Yeah, all right, rip them got him on

(51:47):
the next game. And then I'm like, oh, we wearing
our's not black. They did.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
Look, hey, that's all that's all they take is one man. Yeah,
all right, we're gonna take. We're gonna take one more
break and when we come back and then talk about boring.

(52:14):
All right, you who off this list was born in
the wrong era.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
Everybody okay, everybody on that list would go. But Nanza's
in the new league right now. We don't all talk
about it, and like the freedom to be like, you
gotta understand trade. When we first came to the league, some
of these shots no disrespect that not even like like
I ain't gonna use Stephan as the bar because he Okay,
he's the greatest shooter. But it's like we all know

(52:42):
this dude's that nowhere near Steph. Steph like like level
of shooting, accuracy, accolades, anything to be pulling like he
be pulling, you know what I'm saying, like all of this,
So it's like, bruh, we'll get subbed out the game.
We shot something, you know what I'm saying. Like, so
like that's why I say, like to be able to
see Ray Allen or Debbie or any of them dudes

(53:03):
dibby ripped any of them in an era where they
could just come and just pull unconsciously. And it's like
the game and the analytics say that you're supposed to
shoot this mean three Like you remember Whyia in Phoenix
They was looking at us like blasphemy. Never should this
game be played like it? Like that was like we
were like the first rendition of like Joe might get
up to eleven threes, I might get up sixteen, like

(53:25):
it was games where I literally and oh four O
five had seventeen three point attens like they would look
at us like what is this Like this so like
I feel like any of any of those guys got
to play now. And the way that you can't touch nobody,
Like could you imagine somebody trying to guard Rip Hamilton
the way you can't touch nobody and the way that
he runs around and does all that, Like you wouldn't

(53:48):
be able to do nothing with Rip Man, rip a
go Banana's in this league? Nah for mine?

Speaker 4 (53:53):
For mine, I go d Miles for sure, like this
might looking for that six nine athletic Wayne who can.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
One through five true one through five dude who could
go like that was what he did back then, even
when when he was one one hundred and eighty five
pounds soaking with like in this league, Yeah, he'd have
been Yeah, because he had what I used to call
the broomstick. That boy you try and go up you
want to, you gonna see that long black arm just
come out of nowhere, big dumbas's hands, Like yeah, now,

(54:22):
he'd have been terrorized in this league with the way
he was able to do everything. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Absolutely, you mentioned everybody. I do agree. I'm gonna choose one.
I'm gonna go with Eddie Jones, three and d don't
you know, score shoot, defend all the things that you
need gonna be a max player, you know what I'm saying,
Like he goes be taking care of me and and
be you sparingly man in the in the ways. And

(54:47):
I just think that he would really shine in this era, man,
you know for real. So those those are our picks.
