As we said, we've been talking about the comprehensive plan
we have to take back California, where it involves targeting

the winnable voters, making it easy for them to vote
so they turn out, having you actually talk to them,
because personal contact is the key to moving the needle.
Not money, not media, not TV ads, It's personal contacts.
And of course having an exciting agenda with great candidates.
I gave you the exciting agenda with the voter ide

Initiative Prop thirty nine and save Prop thirteen, which is
Prop forty three. But we have to have good candidates.
And my next guest is at the top of the
ticket of the golden slate of good candidates that we've got,
Leeve Hilton, our candidate for governor. Steve, how are you doing.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
I'm great, Carl, so great to be with you. I
love the whole fire that you're putting into. This is
exactly how I feel, and you're totally right, and this
is the year that we can really do. I know
a lot of people may be listening, and I've made
this point with John over the years as well. Oh,
what's the point is California the Democrats always going to win.
Nothing you can do. Your only choice is to put

up with it or leave. It is just so far
from the truth. And this year, of all years, is
such a golden opportunity because we've got a number of
things going on. We've got a majority of Californians now,
a very clear majority sometimes in pulse over sixty percent,
who agree that it's time for change, that we've got
a change direction, that the state is on the wrong
(02:45):
track that is different from the previous governor's race. We've
got the fact, the very important number, which is that
more people voted for President Trump in California than we
would need for me to be elected governor. Six point
one million Calians voted for Trump in twenty twenty four.
If all of those people, and I'm sure many of
you listening right now, vote this year, then we'll win. Now,
(03:08):
we're not necessarily going to get one hundred percent of
a presidential year turnout, but the point you just mentioned,
especially vote ID is a huge, huge driver of turnout,
and so that's going to help us. But we're going
to win because Democrats are fed up. Independents are fed up.
It's that word used right at the beginning. Common sense
and the plan that I'm running on three dollars gas,
(03:31):
cut your electric bills in half, your first one hundred
and fifty grand, tax free, starter homes for young families,
that focus on making our state cal affordable. That is
what people want, way beyond just Republicans, and that's why
I'm very confident we really can make it happen this year.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
And one of the other things that we're trying to
do is besides having really strong candidates like yourself with
a bold agenda, and what you're laying out is just
common sense. It's very attractive, it brings seventy percent of
the people to the table. Is that we need to
run as a team. The golden ticket is what you
call it. We call it the reform slate. With all
the candidates, whether it's judge or school board, people are
(04:10):
using our voter guide because we make voting simple. We
give them the comprehensive cheat sheet. But when I keep
telling these Republican candidates, stop focusing on yourself and start
working as a team, chip in money to the common
effort to turn out the vote.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
And we all win.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Whether you're running for school board or you're running for
governor or running for congress or state house, it doesn't
matter what you're running for. You're all offering common sense.
You're the anecdote to these crazies that are running one
party control, super majority disaster California. And so I think
(04:49):
we're now getting a lot of candidates that are starting
to do that. You have that with Gloria Romero and
Michael Gates and the entire statewide ticket that you got,
But now we've got all of our candidates running for
target seats to break the supermajority in the legislature, the
congressional seats that we've targeted, and it's all coming together.
It's just we need volunteers. We need more people to

deliver the door hangers to their neighborhood. And if they
don't sign up to volunteer, it hasn't happened exactly.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
And to have those conversations like you said, one to
one in the workplace, in the bar, you know, picking
up the kids from school, these are the times when
you say, you know what, It's a very simple question,
are you happy with the way California is being run?
If you are, then fine, keep voting Democrats. But if
you're not, then vote for change. And we've got the
(05:38):
power to do it. That's what elections are all about.
And the fact that we're working together so well, and
you and I have been talking for a long time
about this and now we've got many others joining up
in that effort is just really important. We all benefit
from that. It strengthens all of us. It's that old
saying about a rising tide lifting all boats, that we're
in control of that if we work together. And that's
(06:01):
why this again another reason why this year is different,
and people really need to understand what a change it
is to have people across the state in all these
different offices, and you've been right at the heart of
making this happen, who are working together that has not
happened before.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
And we're going to be on the road this October.
We're going to be traveling on a nice bus up
and down the state. You've got your bus, I've got mine.
But we're going to actually be meeting up at various
locations around the state to do massive rallies. We are
calling these barbecue, beer and ballot events, and these all
going to happen in October, and what we need you
to do is come join Steve, myself and our golden
(06:42):
ticket at these big barbecue beer in ballot rallies. These
are free events, by the way, there's no ticket cost,
but you need a ticket to come so we can
have enough barbecue. But you show up to these events,
we give you lawn signs for Steve Hilton, lawn signs
for yes on Prop thirty nine, for voter right, lawn
signs for yes on Prop forty three to stop the

tax increases that we see. And we give you the
door hangers and the voter guides will harvest ballots. Bring
your friends, bring your neighbors, your colleagues, your coworkers, your
second cousins. Twice we're removed, but if you want to
be part of this movement, you have to be engaged.

We're joined by Steve Hilton, our Republican candidate for governor.
We've got an entire slate of common sense reformers who
can really bring change in California, and yes, they can win.
If we get all of the Republicans who voted for
Trump to vote in the twenty twenty six midterm this November,
we can win the governor's race. So everyone who says, oh,

it's impossible to win in California, to stop telling me
all the reasons why we can't take back our state
and start actually giving it a college try.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Plus, if we work hard for.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Our entire slate, maybe a couple of them don't make
it through, but we will likely pick up a bunch
of seats in the legislature.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
We're gonna pass Prop thirty nine for voter ID.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
We're gonna pass Prop forty three to save Prop thirteen
and stop the tax hikes. But guess what, I actually
believe we can win the governor's race if we get
this plan fully executed. And that requires all of you
have to volunteer at Reform California at dot org. So,
Steve Hilton, let me give you the very specific question
(09:43):
in the blue state of California. Xavier Bessera is I
think uniquely a weak candidate because even the Biden cabinet
said that he was a loser, he was a weakling.
And when the Biden cabinet, as bad as they were,
say that he was, you know, the rotten one in
the bunch, even compared to Joe Biden, that's.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Saying a lot. Plus.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Doesn't he have some corruption stench hanging around him?
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yeah, you're right, Cole, He's a disastrous candidate. Another reason
why this could be our year, very very strongly. I
think there are four real weaknesses to him. You've named
one of them that actually you've touched on another. So
the first one, I mean, when you're too incompetent for
the Biden cabinet. That says something. I mean. You've the
quotes about him from his own colleagues in the Biden
(10:33):
administration describing him as completely ineffective, an idiot. There's a
quote Susan Rice, Biden's national security advisor, Obama's national security advisor,
Biden's head of domestic policy, called him an idiot, and
that's the polite term. So that's one. The fact that
he's been useless in every job he's done, and he's
got his own colleagues words there to prove it. Secondly,
(10:55):
the fact that in a year where a majority of
Californian's are demanding change, he's the definition of more of
the same. He is the status quo candidate. And not
just the fact that he's been thirty six years a
career politician in the corrupt Democrat machine in California, but
the fact that even when asked, he was on with
on CNN the other week after is anything you know
(11:17):
things aren't going so well in California. You've got the
highest poverty rate, highest unemployment rate, homelessness, etc. Well, you know,
is anything you would have done differently? He was just
like Kamala Harris on the view that in that disastrous
interview in her presidential campaign, he said, oh, well nothing really,
I mean, it can't be that bad. People are still
going to Disneyland. He can't name a single thing he
would change. The third reason, as you touched on the
(11:38):
corruption scandal, he is up to his neck in it
right now. You've got federal indictments, we are awaiting trial
for Gavin Newsom's former chief of staff, Dane Williamson, for
Besserah's former chief of staff, Sean McCluskey. And for those
who don't understand what this is all about, lem me
explain when Biden was made HHS secretary. When Biden made
(11:59):
for their a HHS secretary, he wanted to take his
chief of staff with him to Washington, this guy, Sean McCluskey.
The salary, the pay, the federal pay was too low
for this guy. What did they do? They topped it
up with money from Bessarah's California campaign account, funneled through
a consulting firm run by Newsman's former chief of staff,
(12:21):
and then paid to the Shawn mcclusky's wife to top
up the pay. All of that is totally illegal and
the subject of the prossingue, the indictments, and the sentencing
that's going to come down very shortly. Bassarah claims he
had nothing to do with it, no idea about it.
That is impossible to believe. The whole point of this
(12:42):
illegal and corrupt scheme was so that he could get
his guy with him in Washington. Even Katie Porter during
the governor debates, pointed out that Bessarah could still be
indicted and it depends on the plea deal that these
other people have struck, so's we'll see what happens there.
But the big one, in a way that hasn't got
nearly enough attention is his absolutely disgusting criminal negligence when
(13:07):
it comes to thousands and thousands of migrant children that
were in his care and custody, or should have been
when he was HHS secretary. Of course, because of Biden's
open border, we had hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied mind as,
many of them trafficked by people, smugglers and the cartels
in our country. He was supposed to be looking after them.
He didn't want the optics of looking like he had,
(13:30):
in that famous phrase, kids in cages like they accused
President Trump of having, so he dismantled all of the
protections and the vetting for where these kids were sent.
The stories of what happened to these kids are absolutely horrific,
on an absolutely epic scale. Much of it has not
even come out yet. And so I think that once
we really get into this campaign, he is a uniquely
(13:52):
weak candidate. And as I said, another reason why I'm
confident we can win this year, real real quick.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Willing of a minute left over under on Gavin Newsom
getting indicted.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I don't know about him wife sending hot water, as
they say, I mean, it's a it's another example. So
I don't know about Gavin. I think that it's it's
another example of how corrupt this machineist that's been in charge.
They think the rules don't apply to them. Well we're
seeing now with the Justice Department in Washington focused on this,
the rules will apply to them, and I think they're
(14:25):
going to be They're not going to like the outcome.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I mean, when you're a super majority and no district
attorney is a Republican, no attorney general is a Republican,
and you have the Biden administration sitting there doing nothing.
These these Democrats in California literally think that the rules
don't apply to them. But guess what now they're learning
(14:51):
that Well, new sheriffs in town and the Feds at
least are looking into it. Steve Hilton, thank you so
much for being the man in the arena stepping up.
We're proud of your campaign. I'm excited. I do believe
we have a shot to win this. The only way
we're going to execute that is if We're able to
get a ground swell of volunteers behind you. And that's
(15:12):
why I'm encouraging everybody go online and sign up as
a volunteer to cover your neighborhood. I'll send you the
door hangers, but you have got to sign up. I
don't know that you're willing to go door to door
and you're not walking, you're driving. Because we're spacing out
the houses. We're only going to low propensity Republicans. These
are not democrats, are not independents. You are going to
(15:32):
have Republicans give you hugs and thank you for giving
them hope. But you got to sign up at Reform
California dot org. And then of course when you sign
up there, we will let you know when Steve and
I will be in your neighborhood for the barbecue, beer
in ballot events coming up. Let's talk about holding people accountable.

raise our taxes, or whether it's the many number of

state legislative candidates we have running to break the supermajority
in Sacramento. None of them will win without you knocking
on another Republicans door and giving them hope. We need
to turn out every low propensity Republican, every dang single
one of them. Because if we can get all six
point one million Trump voters from twenty twenty four to

show up in twenty twenty six and vote for our
golden ticket, guess what happens. We win the seats, We
can even win statewide offices like governor, and my next
guest can be the top law enforcement officer for our state.

So you did great work in Huntington Beach. Let's start there.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
We actually let's we'll get to that in just a minute,
because Huntington Beach is being harassed by state officials on homelessness,
on housing, on voter id on elections, and going to
rank choice voting. But let's start out first with the
guy you're running against, his Rob Bonta. He and his
wife are the head of the Banta crime family. They
(18:20):
basically protect criminals. They're involved in all sorts of stinky situations.
Rob Bonta doesn't want to actually prosecute criminals. He wants
to go and I don't know, harassed churches and parents
and law abiding gun owners. How can you put together
the coalition and a blue state to win against the
(18:41):
Bonta crime family.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
So that's a great question, and frankly, really to give
your audience hope. It's frankly because the elitists and Sacramento
have just run this state into the ground. We are
now in crisis. I have said repeatedly on the campaign show.
We are lawless in California at the hands of rob
As you know, he was a career politician ten ures
in the legislature before he was appointed as our attorney
(19:06):
General by Newsom in twenty twenty one, and ever since
then he's really continued to act as a career politician.
He is advancing his political agenda, Nuism's political agenda, and
he's ignoring every day Californians because he refuses to prosecute crime,
refuses to keep us safe. In fact, California, as you know,
is ranked as one of the most dangerous states in
(19:27):
the Union.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
To live in.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
According to FBI data on violent crime. California ranks sixth
highest in crime. So we live in one of the
most dangerous states because of Robanta. So what I'm trying
to suggest is because he has done such a disastrous job.
Because everyday Californians care about safe neighborhoods, They care about
crime reduction, they care about having the environment within which
(19:51):
their businesses can thrive. When I'm out on the campaign
trailer and I'm talking about these kitchen table issues, these
issues that impact every day Californians, I'm getting support from Independence.
I'm getting support for Republicans and Democots alike because they
are fed up with our leadership. So the Democrat leadership,
the social the Glasco stay socialists, but the elders and Sacramento,
(20:13):
they quite literally are teeing it up for us, who
are common sense candidates. We are law and order candidates.
I myself have been a champion of law and order
and defender of the people for years as city attorney,
and so I've gotten a great reception. I got more
votes in the June primary, three point four million votes,
more votes than any Republican candidate in a primary in
(20:36):
the state's history. Fundraising is going well, Endorsements are growing,
Our list of endorsements is growing, so things are going
quite well. We are going to take it to Rob Bota.
We are going to hold him accountable and people are
going to know, like you said, his associations, his history.
We've even put a meme out on our social media
with Rob Bota posing with three other individuals who've been
(20:56):
federally indicted, and the caption above his head is I
have more friends who have been federally indicted than you.
And that's that speaks aliums because he literally has quite
a history and voters are going to hear about it.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
So you've got uh bonta and and he's got his
his you know, various left wing NGOs that he and
his wife have funded with your state taxpayer money to
harvest ballots. Uh, you've got the liberal media refusing to
actually cover his corruption and his failures.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
When you look at what you're up against, they are
I think it'd be the most worried about you because
we tend to do with Republican candidates the best, with
the law and order races. You know, we came awfully
close to the attorney general races in the past. So
what do you expect they're going to do when they
realize that you actually are a real threat and could
(21:52):
actually win this What what dirty tricks are you preparing for.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
What what do you think they're there?
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Their mo is going to be because they I don't
think they can just simply smear you as some Republican
maga guy. Because in these races for law and order
positions like attorney general that actually, you know, brings out
a lot of voters. People are like, Okay, we're going
to give the Republican the attorney general job because we
know that at least they will keep us safe.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
Yeah, well, they're not going to have much luck going
after me. On my record, I've got really, quite frankly,
I've been very, very blessed a fantastic record as a lawyer.
I was in private practice for a number of years.
I became partner at a law firm. Then I ran for
city attorney in Huntington Beach and I had a wildly
successful career there. Quite honestly, we made Huntington Beach one
(22:37):
of the safest cities in the state of California out
of nearly five hundred cities. So we have such an
incredible record in Huntington Beach of defending the people. We're
the land of the Free and home of the brave
in Huntington Beach. In large part because we've been fighting crime,
tough on crime, no excuses, no exceptions, but then also
pushing back on Sacramento. I don't know exactly what their
playbook is going to be against me. I do think
(22:59):
they're going to try to pint me as a Trumper
or a Trumpster or a Trump acolyte, largely because I
did spend a year with the administration last year working
at the highest levels of the federal government at the
US Department of Justice. But I do think that narrative
is wearing thin right now because you have Californians who
are dealing with the highest tax tax price price or
(23:19):
tax rates, the highest gas prices, the highest homeless rates,
and the highest crime rates. And now we're hearing about
the Stop Nick Shirley Act, the attack on the First
Amendment rights of every day Californians, and then now they
want to taxes per mile, and there's all these things
coming out of Sacramento. The elitist and Sacramento, but every
day Californians are like set up with And I think
that Trump narrative, the anti Trump narrative, is wearing thin
(23:41):
because it just shows how tone deaf they are. Right
like it just shows how extremely tone deaf the elitist
and Sacramento are. Every day Californians are suffering, right with
the Latino community is bearing the biggest brunt, the biggest burden.
They're suffering the most from these policies coming out of Sacramento.
They are a large voting block and speaking directly to
the Latinos that like, look the high crime in your neighborhood,
(24:03):
the fact that your children are not safe, the fact
that you're worried about your little girls going to school,
having to play, having little boys come into their locker rooms.
All of this is because of the elitist and Sacramento. I,
on the other hand, as Attorney General, I'm going to
come in and we're going to make sure that we're
Title Linge compliant out to the State of California, that
we end the attack on the constitutional rights of our citizens,
namely the First Amendment, even the Second Amendment. We're going
(24:24):
to return to law and order, and I am going
to make every city in the state of California as
safe as we made Huntington Beach. How is that possible?
Because Huntington Beach didn't have a different set of laws.
I made Huntington Beach one of the safest cities in
the state of California, using the very same laws that
are available to Rob Bonta.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Real quick, we're going to talk about hunting To Beach
coming up, because they do become like the example of
what will happen if conservatives run a good city and
fix things and then state officials like the Attorney general
come in and start bullying.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
So hold on for a second. We're going to take
a check on news and traffic.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
But when we come back, I'm going to ask Michael
about what the state of California Attorney General and the
governor and others have done to harass Huntington Beach and
what you will do differently as the attorney general to
protect local control. We're talking to Michael Gates, the Attorney
general candidate that we're supporting that we hope you will
support as well.

We can't regulate that kind of thing. We can't keep
naughty books away from children, So there's a whole list
of things. I've been in high density housing fights for years.
The governor shut down our beaches during COVID literally shut
down eight miles of beautiful coastline, not to keep the
criminals off of our beaches, but to keep law abiding
taxpayers off of our beaches because there was too much
(25:45):
fun being had in the sun during COVID and we
couldn't have fun. We couldn't have people outside enjoying themselves,
so he locked us down. But Huntington Beach has been
pushing back. Like I said, in addition to voter ID,
we have bands in Huntington Beach on mask mandates, bands
on vast mandates. I actually even sue the State of
California challenging AB nineteen fifty five, which is that state
law that mandates that teachers keep secrets from parents with
(26:07):
regard to their children's gender transition issues, and we won.
So if you recall, about three weeks ago, the Ninth
Circuit Quarter Appeal issued a ruling in any case against
the State of California and in favor of that city
to stop AB nineteen fifty five. That was literally my
lawsuit out of Huntington Beach. Huntington Beach is the plaintiff
in that lawsuit, and the Ninth Circuit upheld the injunction
(26:28):
against the state law that mandates that teachers keep.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Seeing So all of these lawsuits have been filed and
they're trying to manipulate your elections and all that stuff.
As Attorney general, because well, we have thirty seconds left
as attorney general. If you decide that locals should have
local control, you can basically tell the lawyer the governor
as the state's lawyer, you're not going to sue the locals,
and it's done correct one hundred percent.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
I've got proscutorial discretion. So we are going to be
in favor of local control, but we're also going to
be in favor of protecting everyday Californian's constitutional rights. Stop

me to violate the First Amendment rights of our everyday Californians.
So I am going to be up in Sacramento fighting
for Californians. And I know I'm going to make plenty

up there, but I am going to do what I
did at Huntington Beach I am going to do in Sacramento.
We're going to make every city safe. I'm going to
protect constitutional rights, and we are going to come down
on the side of local control. We want local decision makers,

life decisions for us at the city level.

Not money, not media, not TV ads, It's personal contacts.
And of course having an exciting agenda with great candidates.
I gave you the exciting agenda with the voter ide

Initiative Prop thirty nine and save Prop thirteen, which is
Prop forty three. But we have to have good candidates.
And my next guest is at the top of the
ticket of the golden slate of good candidates that we've got,
Leeve Hilton, our candidate for governor. Steve, how are you doing.

I'm great, Carl, so great to be with you. I
love the whole fire that you're putting into. This is
exactly how I feel, and you're totally right, and this
is the year that we can really do. I know
a lot of people may be listening, and I've made
this point with John over the years as well. Oh,
what's the point is California the Democrats always going to win.
Nothing you can do. Your only choice is to put
(02:25):
up with it or leave. It is just so far
from the truth. And this year, of all years, is
such a golden opportunity because we've got a number of
things going on. We've got a majority of Californians now,
a very clear majority sometimes in pulse over sixty percent,
who agree that it's time for change, that we've got
a change direction, that the state is on the wrong
(02:45):
track that is different from the previous governor's race. We've
got the fact, the very important number, which is that
more people voted for President Trump in California than we
would need for me to be elected governor. Six point
one million Calians voted for Trump in twenty twenty four.
If all of those people, and I'm sure many of
you listening right now, vote this year, then we'll win. Now,
(03:08):
we're not necessarily going to get one hundred percent of
a presidential year turnout, but the point you just mentioned,
especially vote ID is a huge, huge driver of turnout,
and so that's going to help us. But we're going
to win because Democrats are fed up. Independents are fed up.
It's that word used right at the beginning. Common sense
and the plan that I'm running on three dollars gas,
(03:31):
cut your electric bills in half, your first one hundred
and fifty grand, tax free, starter homes for young families,
that focus on making our state cal affordable. That is
what people want, way beyond just Republicans, and that's why
I'm very confident we really can make it happen this year.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
And one of the other things that we're trying to
do is besides having really strong candidates like yourself with
a bold agenda, and what you're laying out is just
common sense. It's very attractive, it brings seventy percent of
the people to the table. Is that we need to
run as a team. The golden ticket is what you
call it. We call it the reform slate. With all
the candidates, whether it's judge or school board, people are
(04:10):
using our voter guide because we make voting simple. We
give them the comprehensive cheat sheet. But when I keep
telling these Republican candidates, stop focusing on yourself and start
working as a team, chip in money to the common
effort to turn out the vote.

And we all win.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Whether you're running for school board or you're running for
governor or running for congress or state house, it doesn't
matter what you're running for. You're all offering common sense.
You're the anecdote to these crazies that are running one
party control, super majority disaster California. And so I think
(04:49):
we're now getting a lot of candidates that are starting
to do that. You have that with Gloria Romero and
Michael Gates and the entire statewide ticket that you got,
But now we've got all of our candidates running for
target seats to break the supermajority in the legislature, the
congressional seats that we've targeted, and it's all coming together.
It's just we need volunteers. We need more people to
(05:10):
deliver the door hangers to their neighborhood. And if they
don't sign up to volunteer, it hasn't happened exactly.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
And to have those conversations like you said, one to
one in the workplace, in the bar, you know, picking
up the kids from school, these are the times when
you say, you know what, It's a very simple question,
are you happy with the way California is being run?
If you are, then fine, keep voting Democrats. But if
you're not, then vote for change. And we've got the
(05:38):
power to do it. That's what elections are all about.
And the fact that we're working together so well, and
you and I have been talking for a long time
about this and now we've got many others joining up
in that effort is just really important. We all benefit
from that. It strengthens all of us. It's that old
saying about a rising tide lifting all boats, that we're
in control of that if we work together. And that's
(06:01):
why this again another reason why this year is different,
and people really need to understand what a change it
is to have people across the state in all these
different offices, and you've been right at the heart of
making this happen, who are working together that has not
happened before.

And we're going to be on the road this October.
We're going to be traveling on a nice bus up
and down the state. You've got your bus, I've got mine.
But we're going to actually be meeting up at various
locations around the state to do massive rallies. We are
calling these barbecue, beer and ballot events, and these all
going to happen in October, and what we need you
to do is come join Steve, myself and our golden
(06:42):
ticket at these big barbecue beer in ballot rallies. These
are free events, by the way, there's no ticket cost,
but you need a ticket to come so we can
have enough barbecue. But you show up to these events,
we give you lawn signs for Steve Hilton, lawn signs
for yes on Prop thirty nine, for voter right, lawn
signs for yes on Prop forty three to stop the

tax increases that we see. And we give you the
door hangers and the voter guides will harvest ballots. Bring
your friends, bring your neighbors, your colleagues, your coworkers, your
second cousins. Twice we're removed, but if you want to
be part of this movement, you have to be engaged.

If we get all of the Republicans who voted for
Trump to vote in the twenty twenty six midterm this November,
we can win the governor's race. So everyone who says, oh,

it's impossible to win in California, to stop telling me
all the reasons why we can't take back our state
and start actually giving it a college try.

Plus, if we work hard for.

Our entire slate, maybe a couple of them don't make
it through, but we will likely pick up a bunch
of seats in the legislature.

We're gonna pass Prop thirty nine for voter ID.

We're gonna pass Prop forty three to save Prop thirteen
and stop the tax hikes. But guess what, I actually
believe we can win the governor's race if we get
this plan fully executed. And that requires all of you
have to volunteer at Reform California at dot org. So,
Steve Hilton, let me give you the very specific question
(09:43):
in the blue state of California. Xavier Bessera is I
think uniquely a weak candidate because even the Biden cabinet
said that he was a loser, he was a weakling.
And when the Biden cabinet, as bad as they were,
say that he was, you know, the rotten one in
the bunch, even compared to Joe Biden, that's.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Saying a lot. Plus.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Doesn't he have some corruption stench hanging around him?
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yeah, you're right, Cole, He's a disastrous candidate. Another reason
why this could be our year, very very strongly. I
think there are four real weaknesses to him. You've named
one of them that actually you've touched on another. So
the first one, I mean, when you're too incompetent for
the Biden cabinet. That says something. I mean. You've the
quotes about him from his own colleagues in the Biden
(10:33):
administration describing him as completely ineffective, an idiot. There's a
quote Susan Rice, Biden's national security advisor, Obama's national security advisor,
Biden's head of domestic policy, called him an idiot, and
that's the polite term. So that's one. The fact that
he's been useless in every job he's done, and he's
got his own colleagues words there to prove it. Secondly,
(10:55):
the fact that in a year where a majority of
Californian's are demanding change, he's the definition of more of
the same. He is the status quo candidate. And not
just the fact that he's been thirty six years a
career politician in the corrupt Democrat machine in California, but
the fact that even when asked, he was on with
on CNN the other week after is anything you know
(11:17):
things aren't going so well in California. You've got the
highest poverty rate, highest unemployment rate, homelessness, etc. Well, you know,
is anything you would have done differently? He was just
like Kamala Harris on the view that in that disastrous
interview in her presidential campaign, he said, oh, well nothing really,
I mean, it can't be that bad. People are still
going to Disneyland. He can't name a single thing he
would change. The third reason, as you touched on the
(11:38):
corruption scandal, he is up to his neck in it
right now. You've got federal indictments, we are awaiting trial
for Gavin Newsom's former chief of staff, Dane Williamson, for
Besserah's former chief of staff, Sean McCluskey. And for those
who don't understand what this is all about, lem me
explain when Biden was made HHS secretary. When Biden made
(11:59):
for their a HHS secretary, he wanted to take his
chief of staff with him to Washington, this guy, Sean McCluskey.
The salary, the pay, the federal pay was too low
for this guy. What did they do? They topped it
up with money from Bessarah's California campaign account, funneled through
a consulting firm run by Newsman's former chief of staff,
(12:21):
and then paid to the Shawn mcclusky's wife to top
up the pay. All of that is totally illegal and
the subject of the prossingue, the indictments, and the sentencing
that's going to come down very shortly. Bassarah claims he
had nothing to do with it, no idea about it.
That is impossible to believe. The whole point of this
(12:42):
illegal and corrupt scheme was so that he could get
his guy with him in Washington. Even Katie Porter during
the governor debates, pointed out that Bessarah could still be
indicted and it depends on the plea deal that these
other people have struck, so's we'll see what happens there.
But the big one, in a way that hasn't got
nearly enough attention is his absolutely disgusting criminal negligence when
(13:07):
it comes to thousands and thousands of migrant children that
were in his care and custody, or should have been
when he was HHS secretary. Of course, because of Biden's
open border, we had hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied mind as,
many of them trafficked by people, smugglers and the cartels
in our country. He was supposed to be looking after them.
He didn't want the optics of looking like he had,
(13:30):
in that famous phrase, kids in cages like they accused
President Trump of having, so he dismantled all of the
protections and the vetting for where these kids were sent.
The stories of what happened to these kids are absolutely horrific,
on an absolutely epic scale. Much of it has not
even come out yet. And so I think that once
we really get into this campaign, he is a uniquely
(13:52):
weak candidate. And as I said, another reason why I'm
confident we can win this year, real real quick.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Willing of a minute left over under on Gavin Newsom
getting indicted.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I don't know about him wife sending hot water, as
they say, I mean, it's a it's another example. So
I don't know about Gavin. I think that it's it's
another example of how corrupt this machineist that's been in charge.
They think the rules don't apply to them. Well we're
seeing now with the Justice Department in Washington focused on this,
the rules will apply to them, and I think they're
(14:25):
going to be They're not going to like the outcome.

I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I mean, when you're a super majority and no district
attorney is a Republican, no attorney general is a Republican,
and you have the Biden administration sitting there doing nothing.
These these Democrats in California literally think that the rules
don't apply to them. But guess what now they're learning
(14:51):
that Well, new sheriffs in town and the Feds at
least are looking into it. Steve Hilton, thank you so
much for being the man in the arena stepping up.
We're proud of your campaign. I'm excited. I do believe
we have a shot to win this. The only way
we're going to execute that is if We're able to
get a ground swell of volunteers behind you. And that's

why I'm encouraging everybody go online and sign up as
a volunteer to cover your neighborhood. I'll send you the
door hangers, but you have got to sign up. I
don't know that you're willing to go door to door
and you're not walking, you're driving. Because we're spacing out
the houses. We're only going to low propensity Republicans. These
are not democrats, are not independents. You are going to

have Republicans give you hugs and thank you for giving
them hope. But you got to sign up at Reform
California dot org. And then of course when you sign

golden ticket, guess what happens. We win the seats, We
can even win statewide offices like governor, and my next
guest can be the top law enforcement officer for our state.

So you did great work in Huntington Beach. Let's start there.

We actually let's we'll get to that in just a minute,
because Huntington Beach is being harassed by state officials on homelessness,
on housing, on voter id on elections, and going to
rank choice voting. But let's start out first with the
guy you're running against, his Rob Bonta. He and his
wife are the head of the Banta crime family. They
(18:20):
basically protect criminals. They're involved in all sorts of stinky situations.
Rob Bonta doesn't want to actually prosecute criminals. He wants
to go and I don't know, harassed churches and parents
and law abiding gun owners. How can you put together
the coalition and a blue state to win against the
(18:41):
Bonta crime family.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
So that's a great question, and frankly, really to give
your audience hope. It's frankly because the elitists and Sacramento
have just run this state into the ground. We are
now in crisis. I have said repeatedly on the campaign show.
We are lawless in California at the hands of rob
As you know, he was a career politician ten ures
in the legislature before he was appointed as our attorney
(19:06):
General by Newsom in twenty twenty one, and ever since
then he's really continued to act as a career politician.
He is advancing his political agenda, Nuism's political agenda, and
he's ignoring every day Californians because he refuses to prosecute crime,
refuses to keep us safe. In fact, California, as you know,
is ranked as one of the most dangerous states in
(19:27):
the Union.

To live in.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
According to FBI data on violent crime. California ranks sixth
highest in crime. So we live in one of the
most dangerous states because of Robanta. So what I'm trying
to suggest is because he has done such a disastrous job.
Because everyday Californians care about safe neighborhoods, They care about
crime reduction, they care about having the environment within which
(19:51):
their businesses can thrive. When I'm out on the campaign
trailer and I'm talking about these kitchen table issues, these
issues that impact every day Californians, I'm getting support from Independence.
I'm getting support for Republicans and Democots alike because they
are fed up with our leadership. So the Democrat leadership,
the social the Glasco stay socialists, but the elders and Sacramento,
(20:13):
they quite literally are teeing it up for us, who
are common sense candidates. We are law and order candidates.
I myself have been a champion of law and order
and defender of the people for years as city attorney,
and so I've gotten a great reception. I got more
votes in the June primary, three point four million votes,
more votes than any Republican candidate in a primary in
(20:36):
the state's history. Fundraising is going well, Endorsements are growing,
Our list of endorsements is growing, so things are going
quite well. We are going to take it to Rob Bota.
We are going to hold him accountable and people are
going to know, like you said, his associations, his history.
We've even put a meme out on our social media
with Rob Bota posing with three other individuals who've been
(20:56):
federally indicted, and the caption above his head is I
have more friends who have been federally indicted than you.
And that's that speaks aliums because he literally has quite
a history and voters are going to hear about it.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
So you've got uh bonta and and he's got his
his you know, various left wing NGOs that he and
his wife have funded with your state taxpayer money to
harvest ballots. Uh, you've got the liberal media refusing to
actually cover his corruption and his failures.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
When you look at what you're up against, they are
I think it'd be the most worried about you because
we tend to do with Republican candidates the best, with
the law and order races. You know, we came awfully
close to the attorney general races in the past. So
what do you expect they're going to do when they
realize that you actually are a real threat and could
(21:52):
actually win this What what dirty tricks are you preparing for.

What what do you think they're there?
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Their mo is going to be because they I don't
think they can just simply smear you as some Republican
maga guy. Because in these races for law and order
positions like attorney general that actually, you know, brings out
a lot of voters. People are like, Okay, we're going
to give the Republican the attorney general job because we
know that at least they will keep us safe.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
Yeah, well, they're not going to have much luck going
after me. On my record, I've got really, quite frankly,
I've been very, very blessed a fantastic record as a lawyer.
I was in private practice for a number of years.
I became partner at a law firm. Then I ran for
city attorney in Huntington Beach and I had a wildly
successful career there. Quite honestly, we made Huntington Beach one
(22:37):
of the safest cities in the state of California out
of nearly five hundred cities. So we have such an
incredible record in Huntington Beach of defending the people. We're
the land of the Free and home of the brave
in Huntington Beach. In large part because we've been fighting crime,
tough on crime, no excuses, no exceptions, but then also
pushing back on Sacramento. I don't know exactly what their
playbook is going to be against me. I do think
(22:59):
they're going to try to pint me as a Trumper
or a Trumpster or a Trump acolyte, largely because I
did spend a year with the administration last year working
at the highest levels of the federal government at the
US Department of Justice. But I do think that narrative
is wearing thin right now because you have Californians who
are dealing with the highest tax tax price price or
(23:19):
tax rates, the highest gas prices, the highest homeless rates,
and the highest crime rates. And now we're hearing about
the Stop Nick Shirley Act, the attack on the First
Amendment rights of every day Californians, and then now they
want to taxes per mile, and there's all these things
coming out of Sacramento. The elitist and Sacramento, but every
day Californians are like set up with And I think
that Trump narrative, the anti Trump narrative, is wearing thin
(23:41):
because it just shows how tone deaf they are. Right
like it just shows how extremely tone deaf the elitist
and Sacramento are. Every day Californians are suffering, right with
the Latino community is bearing the biggest brunt, the biggest burden.
They're suffering the most from these policies coming out of Sacramento.
They are a large voting block and speaking directly to
the Latinos that like, look the high crime in your neighborhood,
(24:03):
the fact that your children are not safe, the fact
that you're worried about your little girls going to school,
having to play, having little boys come into their locker rooms.
All of this is because of the elitist and Sacramento. I,
on the other hand, as Attorney General, I'm going to
come in and we're going to make sure that we're
Title Linge compliant out to the State of California, that
we end the attack on the constitutional rights of our citizens,
namely the First Amendment, even the Second Amendment. We're going
(24:24):
to return to law and order, and I am going
to make every city in the state of California as
safe as we made Huntington Beach. How is that possible?
Because Huntington Beach didn't have a different set of laws.
I made Huntington Beach one of the safest cities in
the state of California, using the very same laws that
are available to Rob Bonta.

Real quick, we're going to talk about hunting To Beach
coming up, because they do become like the example of
what will happen if conservatives run a good city and
fix things and then state officials like the Attorney general
come in and start bullying.

So hold on for a second. We're going to take

We can't regulate that kind of thing. We can't keep
naughty books away from children, So there's a whole list
of things. I've been in high density housing fights for years.
The governor shut down our beaches during COVID literally shut
down eight miles of beautiful coastline, not to keep the
criminals off of our beaches, but to keep law abiding
taxpayers off of our beaches because there was too much

fun being had in the sun during COVID and we
couldn't have fun. We couldn't have people outside enjoying themselves,
so he locked us down. But Huntington Beach has been
pushing back. Like I said, in addition to voter ID,
we have bands in Huntington Beach on mask mandates, bands
on vast mandates. I actually even sue the State of
California challenging AB nineteen fifty five, which is that state
law that mandates that teachers keep secrets from parents with

regard to their children's gender transition issues, and we won.
So if you recall, about three weeks ago, the Ninth
Circuit Quarter Appeal issued a ruling in any case against
the State of California and in favor of that city
to stop AB nineteen fifty five. That was literally my
lawsuit out of Huntington Beach. Huntington Beach is the plaintiff
in that lawsuit, and the Ninth Circuit upheld the injunction
(26:28):
against the state law that mandates that teachers keep.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Seeing So all of these lawsuits have been filed and
they're trying to manipulate your elections and all that stuff.
As Attorney general, because well, we have thirty seconds left
as attorney general. If you decide that locals should have
local control, you can basically tell the lawyer the governor
as the state's lawyer, you're not going to sue the locals,
and it's done correct one hundred percent.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
I've got proscutorial discretion. So we are going to be
in favor of local control, but we're also going to
be in favor of protecting everyday Californian's constitutional rights. Stop
Next Shirly Act will not be enforced. When I'm Attorney General.
I am not going to enforce a law that forces
me to violate the First Amendment rights of our everyday Californians.
So I am going to be up in Sacramento fighting
for Californians. And I know I'm going to make plenty
(27:12):
of enemies and I'm not going to be making friends
up there, but I am going to do what I
did at Huntington Beach I am going to do in Sacramento.
We're going to make every city safe. I'm going to
protect constitutional rights, and we are going to come down
on the side of local control. We want local decision makers,
not the crazy decision makers out of Sacramento making our
life decisions for us at the city level.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
So look, I'm telling you guys, next to the governor's office,
the Attorney General's office is pretty darn powerful. That's why
we need to make sure we get behind Michael Gates
and get them into office so we can get local
control back in Sanity and that criminals should be the
ones that we go after, not cities like Huntington Beach
that are just trying to clean up the mess that
(27:53):
liberals created while they were in charge. Michael, thanks so much,
and we'll see you on the campaign trail coming up
five o'clock. Health and premiums are about to spike, and
it's all because Democrats want to give free healthcare out
to illegals. I've got the details, but first let's get
