We've got to get ready for the November election, and
I'm leading the fight to pass the California Voter I
D initiative, which is Prop thirty nine.

So we'rein that.

We are now the Yes on Prop thirty nine campaign,
and I want to tell you about what you can
do to help us pass voter ID. Yes on Prop
thirty nine, But also our opponents today launched their opposition campaign,
and I'm gonna fill you in on their arguments and
what they.

It's of course predictable Orange Man bad. Voter ID is racist,
it's voter suppression, it's a plot of Donald Trump. I mean,
all that nonsense, but they've got a lot of money,
and they've got the media, the lying liberal media, on
their side, so we have to run a very aggressive campaign.
I also need to apologize to the poor folks over

at KFI and Burbank, the iHeartRadio headquarters. There. You see
in the last hour I kind of ribbed poked fun
at Katie Porter for her awful, horrible, nasty, mean yelp reviews.

I don't know, maybe she's Katie Porter. Why would you

check it out. She left really bad yelp reviews. And

we also talked in the last hour about Gavin Newsom's
criminal problems, and during our three o'clock hour, we talked
about this new policy that judges and prosecutors have had
quietly for many years, the liberal ones, the George Soros
restorative justice prosecutors and judges have been giving illegal immigrants

lighter criminal sentences than citizens for the same crime, all
to try to help them stay in this country. So
we don't have equal justice, my friends.

We literally have.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
A favoritism system in the courts to favor lighter punishment
for illegal immigrants. And now there's a new state law
that they're trying to pass mandating lighter sentences for illegal immigrants.
And if a prosecutor doesn't go along, they're in trouble.
They are violating the law can be sanctioned. That's during

let's talk about the voter ID campaign. So Yes on
Prop thirty nine. That is now our full campaign brand,
because remember, people don't see just voter ID on the ballot,
and lord knows the politicians lie to voters on these
deceptive ballot titles. So we have to make sure that

we very clearly brand our campaign, the voter ID campaign,
by our proposition number and the fact that you should
be voting yes. So it is yes on Prop thirty nine,
and yes, we are going to have lawn signs and
campaign materials that we will distribute to.

All of you. But Yes on Prop.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Thirty nine will be the rallying for those of us
who want to enact a voter ID requirement in the
state of California. What the initiative does, it's a state
constitutional amendment.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
That number one.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Requires that we start with the real root of the
problem of election integrity, and that is we've got to
clean up the voter roles in the state of California.
We have people who are not eligible to vote that
are on the voter roles, non citizens, illegal immigrants, we
have people who moved away from the state of California
long ago. A study by the Transparency Foundation two years ago,
(04:34):
an audit showed that about ten percent of California registrations
on the voter roles are ineligible. These are people that
mainly have moved away. But the Secretary of State is
a Democrat and she will not allow the voter roles
to be updated and properly maintained. And in fact, several
groups have had to sue to force registrars of a
(04:56):
county to update the county voter rules. So the first
thing we require are all sorts of mandates and changes
to hold government officials accountable to just do their job.
Do their job according to national best practices in voter
list maintenance, in election management, maintain an accurate voter file,
(05:18):
do a citizenship check. Don't require that the voter prove
their citizenship.

No, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
We have a lot of government databases where you can
check the citizenship. You don't just have to take someone
out their word. You can actually verify with a lot
of different data systems that are out there. And so
we don't put any additional burdens on the voter. We
put the responsibility where it should be on the registrar
of voters for each county and the Secretary of State
to do your damn job right. And the way we
(05:46):
hold them accountable is not just by mandate, not just
by going to court ensuing, because we create a private
right of action for lawsuits to hold them accountable. You
what we do, We require an audit of the voter
rules every two years before they use that list to do.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Mail in ballots.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Oh yeah, baby, we're having transparency in this initiative because
what we're trying to do is restore public trust and confidence.
This is a bipartisan thing. Nobody should want an outdated
voter rule. So then The second thing is, once we
have voter ID. Sorry, once we have an accurate voter
list and people are getting ballots. When they return the ballots,
(06:29):
we need to make sure that the person who's eligible
to vote is actually the person voting. So either in
person if you show up, you have to have an ID,
which everyone has a government ID.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Come on, it's not hard. You have to get an
ID to go on an airplane.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Got to get an ID by a pack of smokes
or alcohol, or to get pick up a prescription. Get
a voter ID. It's so simple.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
We even offer a free voter ID in.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Our initiative if someone wants to request it. If they say,
I don't have a driver's license, I don't have a passport,
I don't have this in the other thing, fine, we
will give you a free voter ID, no burden whatsoever.
But if you're voting by mail, then you would use
the last four digits of the ID of your choice
that you're convenient and comfortable with. Doesn't have to be

social Security number. In fact, I wouldn't use my social
Security number. My last four digits I want to keep secret.
But you can choose your dry, your passport, you can
use the government ID last four digits that you would
like comfortably to use. That's what you'll use for a
mail in ballot easypsy Oh. But the Democrats, they just
(07:34):
don't want us to restore public trusting confidence in our elections. No, no, no,
they want low levels of confidence because they thrive on that.

People not wanting to participate, less people to have to
fool and so they've launched an opposition campaign today against

But we are up against well, people with a lot
of money who are gonna lie, also known.

As Democrat politicians.

They see they don't want us to restore public trust
and confidence in our election by doing the bipartisan approach
to voter ID. They have no problem with Republicans not
voting because of conspiracy theories and giving up hope. And
you know, for everyone else, they are perfectly fine having

an outdated voter role so they can go out through
their left wing NGOs and harvest ballots and return them.

Are not the voter nos. This is no way to
run an election.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
There's a reason why they're opposing this common sense idea,
and they're willing to damage democracy. This is bipartisan and
yet they want to inject partisanship into it. So here
is their campaign messaging from Politico quote. The campaign against
(09:26):
a voter ID ballot measure is taking shape with a
handful of key hires in a high profile endorsement. They
call themselves Californians for Voting Rights, a coalition of ACLU,
Common Cause, League of Women Voters, all left wing government
funded organizations. They've hired a bunch of Democrat political consultants.
(09:56):
I won't tell you their names because it doesn't matter.
They're all grifters, thank goodness. And they announced that California
Democrat State Senator Alex Padilla is endorsing no on Prop
thirty nine, He says.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Quote Trump and his MAGA allies will do anything to
hold onto power because they know their failing agenda is
going to cost them at the polls. Hold on a second,
California Republicans are not in power in California.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
What do you mean we're holding onto power? Baby? Are
you joking?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
We are irrelevant out here? Quote Trump's response is to
make it harder for you to vote. Prop thirty nine
will block citizens from voting.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Block citizens from voting.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
They will waste hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars chasing
Trump's election conspiracies.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
So there you have it, friends. The first major theme
is going to be Trump, Trump, Trumpety Trump, Orange Man bad.

Second, they're gonna claim it makes it harder to vote,
and third they're gonna say it's gonna cost so much
money to ask people to.

Show their idea. Here's the response.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Number one voter idea is supported by Democrats, Independents, and
Republicans by majority margins, according to all the pulls, and
more than half of the signatures, nearly half of the signatures,
actually nearly half the signatures that we collected to put
this on the ballot. The one point five million signatures
came from Democrats and independents. This is as a bipartisan
(11:42):
as you can get. And that is because we listened
not only to voters who are Democrat and independent and Republican,
and we ask them what would restore your trust and confidence?
And we also listened to input from election experts, voting
rights experts. We said, what would make it easier and
(12:05):
better for you to manage our elections? How do we
set the bar higher without limiting access to voting, without
making it harder. And we put together a very common sense, centrist,
bipartisan approach to voter I D And actually, I think
this is better than the Save Act. This is not
(12:26):
the Save Act from Washington. This is better because it says,
let's not put the burden on the voter, but let's
make sure that we verify the citizenship and the identity
of people casting balance. And I believe it's a better
approach than the Save Act. Frankly, I think we're going
(12:47):
to create a national model for how to do voter
ID in a bipartisan manner. As it relates to blocking
citizens from voting, Nope, that's not true. This is a
it's a palace when you enact voter ID, voter participation increases.
In all the states that have done voter ID, people
(13:10):
that have better trust and confidence in the election participate
in the election more likely, and we've seen an increase
in voting and participation in those states as well as
amongst minority voters.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Then they say it's going to waste hundreds of millions
of dollars. Nope. You know what happens when you clean
up your voter list.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
When you get the ineligible people removed from the voter list,
you save money on printing and postage of ballots.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
We're gonna save hundreds of millions of dollars by not
mailing ballots to people who no.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Longer live in the state of California. And then when
the ballots return to the offices when they're processing ballots
because we go to the four digit versus the signature model,
because right now, when a ballot comes back in the mail,
they have to check the signature. A lot of people
don't know or can't remember how they sign their signature
(14:10):
twenty years ago. You want to talk about making it
harder to vote, keep using these darn signatures that are
not a very accurate and reliable way to verify someone's identity,
and they're not even doing a good job of checking it.

But here's the thing.

By going to the four digits, literally, these ballots can
be verified without any error, and it can be done faster.
We can get election results faster if we vote yes
on Prop thirty nine. So everything that they've said in
this paragraph that I just read you from Alex Padilla
is a lie. It is injecting toxic partisanship into what

is fundamentally a bipartisan proposal for voter iting.

But here's the deal.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
The Democrat politicians opposing Prop thirty nine voter ID have
more money than anyone can appse that possibly imagine, because
they want to cling to power. They don't want people
to have trust and confidence in the elections. They don't
want more participation, they want less, and so they will
outspend us ten to one, and the liberal media, the

liberal media will pairt.

Their smears.

Because it's what the liberal media does. They're not honest brokers.
But we can win this fight. We must win this fight.

proposition number. We have to start talking about voting yes
on thirty nine. And we got to get the message
out there because we're up against a bunch of well
funded Democrat politicians who don't want to restore trust and

confidence in the election. They want to defeed us, and
we need your help to win. So here's our plan.

The most important thing that you can do is get
signed up as a volunteer.

And I know no one wants a volunteer.

I totally understand we have busy lives and everything, but
we need you to sign up as a volunteer because
the only way to move the needle against a campaign
that has all this money is people power. Friend telling friend,
neighbor telling neighbor, you know, colleague telling coworker, mom telling daughter.

We've got to do word of mouth. And I'm not
just saying hey, go out there and just talk.

Willy nilly No.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
If you sign up as a volunteer, we actually have
a very data driven, disciplined focused way we need you
to volunteer. So go to the website Reform California dot org,
click on volunteer, or just go to reform Volunteer dot
org reform Volunteer dot org, and I want to make
(17:41):
sure that you sign up because we need to hit
our volunteer target in each part of the state.

What we're gonna then.

Do is We're going to let you know that you
can canvas your neighborhood. But I'm not asking you go
to Democrat households because you might not survive the conversation.
I'm going to get give you a specific safe list
of people to go talk to. These are people who
we already know support voteriety, like registered Republicans, like independents

who are conservative. The reason why you need to go
talk to them is the list I'm giving you isn't
going to be a lot of people in your neighborhood.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
I just need you to talk to twenty six people.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Everyone that signs up, I'm going to give you an
assignment to go out and talk to twenty six people
in your area. Twenty six people. You don't have to
walk your neighborhood. The best way to do it get
a friend to drive your car and you sit in
the air conditioned car listening to your music as you
go from home to home. Because there will be some
distance between the homes. You know, you skip every six
(18:41):
or seven homes for everyone that you go to. Because
we're only going to low propensity Republicans. That means these
are Republicans are probably not going to vote in the midterm.

They only vote in the presidential election.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
But if we can give them a voter guide and
make it easy for them to vote and let them
know that yes on Prop thirty nine is votvo id, well,
then guess what we will get that vote, and it's
an easy vote for us to bank. We just have
to tell people, hey, voter id's on the ballot, it's
Prop thirty nine, and here's a bunch of other good
initiatives that you should be voting on and bad initiatives too.

We will let them know where the Texas are.

But here is.

Your cheat, cheat to vote. We know that voter turnout
boils down to two things. Number one, a personal contact.
That's where you come in and number two making it
easy for the voter to actually vote. That's where our
voter guide comes in. So if you sign up as
a volunteer to canvass your neighborhood, and all I'm asking
(19:37):
you to do is talk to twenty six people during
the month of October.

Not now, I need you when people have ballots.

October October third is when ballots hit bailboxes. So I
need you to volunteer once or twice during the month
of October. With the list I will provide you on
your cell phone, and I will give you door hangers.
Need you to go talk to twenty six people. It
is not hard, but guess you know what you had

is hard about this convincing people to do the damn work.

The number of people who.

Get upset about all the topics I talk about on
this show and they say, gosh, all we need to
change California. And then I say, hey, can I give
you twenty six door hangers and can you go talk
to twenty six people in your neighborhood.

don't know. I'm busy.

You're busy working three jobs because Democrats keep raising your taxes.

Why don't you do something about it? Go walk, Go
knock on doors, drive.

To those homes. You don't even have to walk. You
can be lazy about it. You can be like Katie
Porter running running around in one of those you know,
you know.

Golf carts, scooters, knock on the door.

Here's the second thing you can do. If you don't
want to go talk to people. Can you help us
with barbecue beer in ballots. We're gonna host a bunch
of barbecue beer and ballot events all throughout California.

California in the listening area here at kfive and So
I need you to help with these events. I'm gonna
host the events. I need you to show up and
help check people in. I need you to show up
and bring a crockpot of barbecue you can buy at
Costco or Amazon. We actually send you an email with

the actual product to buy. It's in the frozen food section.
You put it in your crockpot, you put barbecue sauce in,
you turn it on overnight. You show up the next
day with the barbecue, we do a pot lux style.

Why we don't have any money.

We can't cater you know, two hundred and fifty barbecue
beer in ballad events in October.

We don't have the money, so we ask people to
do crockpot style. What do you call it? Pot luck style?

Can you buy a case of beer? So what we
do is we ask you to sign up and volunteer
because I.

Don't want too much food. I don't want things to
go to waste.

Can you host an event at your business or your backyard.

We'll give you a kit on how you can host
an event and give them the door hangers, and give
them the voter guide and walk them through the ballot
and make voting fun simple and easy. You gotta get
people together. Host an event in your backyard for twenty
five people. That's all I'm asking. Do it on your own.
We'll help you. And finally, yes, we need gas in

the tank. We need hard dollars to cover the hard costs.
So if you can chip in a contribution at Reform
California dot org. We need the resources we're gonna get
out spent ten to one, twelve to one, fifteen to one.
But as long as we're able to get to one,
as long as you're able to chip in something, then

we actually can get the message out there and prevail
with yes on Prop thirty nine for voter ID.

UH trust and confidence back for our elections, a bipartisan

approach to vote writing.

The opponents are going to say vote.

Now, it's a Trump scheme, it will make it harder
to vote.

But they're gonna have more money, and they're gonna have
the media on their side. So that's why we need you.

If you want your state back, you gotta fight for it.

And then here's the other thing. We are gonna have
a challenge with not.

Only the money that's been spent against us in the
lining liberal media, but the ballot.

Title is gonna be manipulative.

It's basically going to suggest that it's harder to vote
and that it's going to cost money. And I've already said,
as I mentioned at the top of the hour, this
is gonna save money. It's not gonna cost money. When
you clean up your voter rules, you get rid of
all the printing and postage of all these ballots that
are being sent out millions of ballots, about two million

is the estimate. To people who no longer live here,
that's a lot of money on postage in print that
you're gonna save if you go to a clean voter role.
And also when you have signature reviews replaced by the
four digits of an ID, all of that time and
manpower that you have to go through.

To look at signatures is eliminated.

So you save a bunch of money on the processing
of ballots and you can get results a lot quicker.

But when we put.

Together our arguments in favor of the proposition thirty nine
Yes on thirty nine, we found that California Democrats changed
the law and are making it harder for groups like
us to actually get our message out. So we just
submitted our paperwork yesterday for our argument. I wrote the

five hundred word ballot support statement. But here's the problem.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
They did not allow me to sign on behalf of
Reform California.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
They did not allow me to put Reform California as
an organization that supports voter ID. They did not allow
another coalition partner of ours, Californians for Voter ID, which
raised a bunch of money to help us get the
signatures to put this on the ballot. They did not
(26:50):
allow that organization because they say, oh if you're a
campaign committee, you're not allowed to list yourself in support
of a ballot measure.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
You know who?
Speaker 2 (26:56):
The only groups that are allowed to list themselves porters
or opponents to a ballot measure in essence by effect
left wing NGOs.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Oh, you can't make this stuff up.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
They change the law very recently to say the only
groups that can put themselves down on the ballot book.
You're given one hundred and twenty five characters to list.
Three four or five organizations are groups that have been
around since twenty twenty one.

They have to be five oh one C three's.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
They can be a business, but they have to be incorporated,
and campaigns are not incorporated under their definition.

Well, we've been operating since two.

Thousand and three. Reform California has been around since two
thousand and three. We're pretty darn stable and we're pretty big.
But no, if you're a campaign committee, you're not allowed
to say that you support the ballot measure that tens
of thousands of volunteers who are your members and supporters.

Help put on the ballot.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
So it favors the NGOs and if you don't fit
into their compliant you've been around for five years and
you're a five o' one C three nonprofit or a business, well,
then you're listed as no supporters.

The good news is we did get.

Good supporters to step up that fit the criteria, but
it took us a long time to get all the
paperwork together. Absolute corruption and how they're putting the ballot
book together all the more reason why we need your
help to get the plain English voter Guide that we
publish through Reform California out to your friend's family and

neighbors at the very least. If you're not willing to volunteer,
if you're not able to chip in a contribution, go
to that website, Reform California dot org and sign up
so that when we put the plain English voter guid together,
we will email it to you.

up at the bottom of the website. No, we do

We are now the Yes on Prop thirty nine campaign,
and I want to tell you about what you can
do to help us pass voter ID. Yes on Prop
thirty nine, But also our opponents today launched their opposition campaign,
and I'm gonna fill you in on their arguments and
what they.

It's of course predictable Orange Man bad. Voter ID is racist,
it's voter suppression, it's a plot of Donald Trump. I mean,
all that nonsense, but they've got a lot of money,
and they've got the media, the lying liberal media, on
their side, so we have to run a very aggressive campaign.
I also need to apologize to the poor folks over
(01:28):
at KFI and Burbank, the iHeartRadio headquarters. There. You see
in the last hour I kind of ribbed poked fun
at Katie Porter for her awful, horrible, nasty, mean yelp reviews.

there is a large, rotund, angry woman at iHeartRadio right now.
I don't know, maybe she's Katie Porter. Why would you

we also talked in the last hour about Gavin Newsom's
criminal problems, and during our three o'clock hour, we talked
about this new policy that judges and prosecutors have had
quietly for many years, the liberal ones, the George Soros
restorative justice prosecutors and judges have been giving illegal immigrants

lighter criminal sentences than citizens for the same crime, all
to try to help them stay in this country. So
we don't have equal justice, my friends.

We literally have.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
A favoritism system in the courts to favor lighter punishment
for illegal immigrants. And now there's a new state law
that they're trying to pass mandating lighter sentences for illegal immigrants.
And if a prosecutor doesn't go along, they're in trouble.
They are violating the law can be sanctioned. That's during

let's talk about the voter ID campaign. So Yes on
Prop thirty nine. That is now our full campaign brand,
because remember, people don't see just voter ID on the ballot,
and lord knows the politicians lie to voters on these
deceptive ballot titles. So we have to make sure that

we very clearly brand our campaign, the voter ID campaign,
by our proposition number and the fact that you should
be voting yes. So it is yes on Prop thirty nine,
and yes, we are going to have lawn signs and
campaign materials that we will distribute to.

All of you. But Yes on Prop.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Thirty nine will be the rallying for those of us
who want to enact a voter ID requirement in the
state of California. What the initiative does, it's a state
constitutional amendment.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
That number one.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Requires that we start with the real root of the
problem of election integrity, and that is we've got to
clean up the voter roles in the state of California.
We have people who are not eligible to vote that
are on the voter roles, non citizens, illegal immigrants, we
have people who moved away from the state of California
long ago. A study by the Transparency Foundation two years ago,
(04:34):
an audit showed that about ten percent of California registrations
on the voter roles are ineligible. These are people that
mainly have moved away. But the Secretary of State is
a Democrat and she will not allow the voter roles
to be updated and properly maintained. And in fact, several
groups have had to sue to force registrars of a
(04:56):
county to update the county voter rules. So the first
thing we require are all sorts of mandates and changes
to hold government officials accountable to just do their job.
Do their job according to national best practices in voter
list maintenance, in election management, maintain an accurate voter file,
(05:18):
do a citizenship check. Don't require that the voter prove
their citizenship.

No, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
We have a lot of government databases where you can
check the citizenship. You don't just have to take someone
out their word. You can actually verify with a lot
of different data systems that are out there. And so
we don't put any additional burdens on the voter. We
put the responsibility where it should be on the registrar
of voters for each county and the Secretary of State
to do your damn job right. And the way we
(05:46):
hold them accountable is not just by mandate, not just
by going to court ensuing, because we create a private
right of action for lawsuits to hold them accountable. You
what we do, We require an audit of the voter
rules every two years before they use that list to do.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Mail in ballots.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Oh yeah, baby, we're having transparency in this initiative because
what we're trying to do is restore public trust and confidence.
This is a bipartisan thing. Nobody should want an outdated
voter rule. So then The second thing is, once we
have voter ID. Sorry, once we have an accurate voter
list and people are getting ballots. When they return the ballots,
(06:29):
we need to make sure that the person who's eligible
to vote is actually the person voting. So either in
person if you show up, you have to have an ID,
which everyone has a government ID.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Come on, it's not hard. You have to get an
ID to go on an airplane.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Got to get an ID by a pack of smokes
or alcohol, or to get pick up a prescription. Get
a voter ID. It's so simple.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
We even offer a free voter ID in.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Our initiative if someone wants to request it. If they say,
I don't have a driver's license, I don't have a passport,
I don't have this in the other thing, fine, we
will give you a free voter ID, no burden whatsoever.
But if you're voting by mail, then you would use
the last four digits of the ID of your choice
that you're convenient and comfortable with. Doesn't have to be
(07:11):
social Security number. In fact, I wouldn't use my social
Security number. My last four digits I want to keep secret.
But you can choose your dry, your passport, you can
use the government ID last four digits that you would
like comfortably to use. That's what you'll use for a
mail in ballot easypsy Oh. But the Democrats, they just
(07:34):
don't want us to restore public trusting confidence in our elections. No, no, no,
they want low levels of confidence because they thrive on that.

People not wanting to participate, less people to have to
fool and so they've launched an opposition campaign today against

They see they don't want us to restore public trust
and confidence in our election by doing the bipartisan approach
to voter ID. They have no problem with Republicans not
voting because of conspiracy theories and giving up hope. And
you know, for everyone else, they are perfectly fine having

an outdated voter role so they can go out through
their left wing NGOs and harvest ballots and return them.

Are not the voter nos. This is no way to
run an election.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
There's a reason why they're opposing this common sense idea,
and they're willing to damage democracy. This is bipartisan and
yet they want to inject partisanship into it. So here
is their campaign messaging from Politico quote. The campaign against

a voter ID ballot measure is taking shape with a
handful of key hires in a high profile endorsement. They
call themselves Californians for Voting Rights, a coalition of ACLU,
Common Cause, League of Women Voters, all left wing government
funded organizations. They've hired a bunch of Democrat political consultants.
(09:56):
I won't tell you their names because it doesn't matter.
They're all grifters, thank goodness. And they announced that California
Democrat State Senator Alex Padilla is endorsing no on Prop
thirty nine, He says.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Quote Trump and his MAGA allies will do anything to
hold onto power because they know their failing agenda is
going to cost them at the polls. Hold on a second,
California Republicans are not in power in California.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
What do you mean we're holding onto power? Baby? Are
you joking?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
We are irrelevant out here? Quote Trump's response is to
make it harder for you to vote. Prop thirty nine
will block citizens from voting.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Block citizens from voting.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
They will waste hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars chasing
Trump's election conspiracies.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
So there you have it, friends. The first major theme
is going to be Trump, Trump, Trumpety Trump, Orange Man bad.

Second, they're gonna claim it makes it harder to vote,
and third they're gonna say it's gonna cost so much
money to ask people to.

Show their idea. Here's the response.

Number one voter idea is supported by Democrats, Independents, and
Republicans by majority margins, according to all the pulls, and
more than half of the signatures, nearly half of the signatures,
actually nearly half the signatures that we collected to put
this on the ballot. The one point five million signatures
came from Democrats and independents. This is as a bipartisan
(11:42):
as you can get. And that is because we listened
not only to voters who are Democrat and independent and Republican,
and we ask them what would restore your trust and confidence?
And we also listened to input from election experts, voting
rights experts. We said, what would make it easier and
(12:05):
better for you to manage our elections? How do we
set the bar higher without limiting access to voting, without
making it harder. And we put together a very common sense, centrist,
bipartisan approach to voter I D And actually, I think
this is better than the Save Act. This is not
(12:26):
the Save Act from Washington. This is better because it says,
let's not put the burden on the voter, but let's
make sure that we verify the citizenship and the identity
of people casting balance. And I believe it's a better
approach than the Save Act. Frankly, I think we're going
(12:47):
to create a national model for how to do voter
ID in a bipartisan manner. As it relates to blocking
citizens from voting, Nope, that's not true. This is a
it's a palace when you enact voter ID, voter participation increases.
In all the states that have done voter ID, people
(13:10):
that have better trust and confidence in the election participate
in the election more likely, and we've seen an increase
in voting and participation in those states as well as
amongst minority voters.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Then they say it's going to waste hundreds of millions
of dollars. Nope. You know what happens when you clean
up your voter list.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
When you get the ineligible people removed from the voter list,
you save money on printing and postage of ballots.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
We're gonna save hundreds of millions of dollars by not
mailing ballots to people who no.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Longer live in the state of California. And then when
the ballots return to the offices when they're processing ballots
because we go to the four digit versus the signature model,
because right now, when a ballot comes back in the mail,
they have to check the signature. A lot of people
don't know or can't remember how they sign their signature
(14:10):
twenty years ago. You want to talk about making it
harder to vote, keep using these darn signatures that are
not a very accurate and reliable way to verify someone's identity,
and they're not even doing a good job of checking it.

But here's the thing.

By going to the four digits, literally, these ballots can
be verified without any error, and it can be done faster.
We can get election results faster if we vote yes
on Prop thirty nine. So everything that they've said in
this paragraph that I just read you from Alex Padilla
is a lie. It is injecting toxic partisanship into what

is fundamentally a bipartisan proposal for voter iting.

But here's the deal.

The Democrat politicians opposing Prop thirty nine voter ID have
more money than anyone can appse that possibly imagine, because
they want to cling to power. They don't want people
to have trust and confidence in the elections. They don't
want more participation, they want less, and so they will
outspend us ten to one, and the liberal media, the

liberal media will pairt.

just saying hey, go out there and just talk.

If you sign up as a volunteer, we actually have
a very data driven, disciplined focused way we need you

click on volunteer, or just go to reform Volunteer dot

sure that you sign up because we need to hit
our volunteer target in each part of the state.

What we're gonna then.

Do is We're going to let you know that you
can canvas your neighborhood. But I'm not asking you go
to Democrat households because you might not survive the conversation.
I'm going to get give you a specific safe list
of people to go talk to. These are people who
we already know support voteriety, like registered Republicans, like independents

who are conservative. The reason why you need to go
talk to them is the list I'm giving you isn't
going to be a lot of people in your neighborhood.

I just need you to talk to twenty six people.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Everyone that signs up, I'm going to give you an
assignment to go out and talk to twenty six people
in your area. Twenty six people. You don't have to
walk your neighborhood. The best way to do it get
a friend to drive your car and you sit in
the air conditioned car listening to your music as you
go from home to home. Because there will be some
distance between the homes. You know, you skip every six
(18:41):
or seven homes for everyone that you go to. Because
we're only going to low propensity Republicans. That means these
are Republicans are probably not going to vote in the midterm.

They only vote in the presidential election.

But if we can give them a voter guide and
make it easy for them to vote and let them
know that yes on Prop thirty nine is votvo id, well,
then guess what we will get that vote, and it's
an easy vote for us to bank. We just have
to tell people, hey, voter id's on the ballot, it's
Prop thirty nine, and here's a bunch of other good
initiatives that you should be voting on and bad initiatives too.

We will let them know where the Texas are.

Your cheat, cheat to vote. We know that voter turnout
boils down to two things. Number one, a personal contact.
That's where you come in and number two making it
easy for the voter to actually vote. That's where our

you to do is talk to twenty six people during
the month of October.

Not now, I need you when people have ballots.

You put it in your crockpot, you put barbecue sauce in,
you turn it on overnight. You show up the next
day with the barbecue, we do a pot lux style.

We can't cater you know, two hundred and fifty barbecue
beer in ballad events in October.

do is we ask you to sign up and volunteer

the tank. We need hard dollars to cover the hard costs.

But as long as we're able to get to one,

we actually can get the message out there and prevail

And then here's the other thing. We are gonna have
a challenge with not.

Only the money that's been spent against us in the
lining liberal media, but the ballot.

Title is gonna be manipulative.

It's basically going to suggest that it's harder to vote
and that it's going to cost money. And I've already said,
as I mentioned at the top of the hour, this
is gonna save money. It's not gonna cost money. When
you clean up your voter rules, you get rid of
all the printing and postage of all these ballots that
are being sent out millions of ballots, about two million
(25:21):
is the estimate. To people who no longer live here,
that's a lot of money on postage in print that
you're gonna save if you go to a clean voter role.
And also when you have signature reviews replaced by the
four digits of an ID, all of that time and
manpower that you have to go through.

To look at signatures is eliminated.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
So you save a bunch of money on the processing
of ballots and you can get results a lot quicker.

But when we put.

Together our arguments in favor of the proposition thirty nine
Yes on thirty nine, we found that California Democrats changed
the law and are making it harder for groups like
us to actually get our message out. So we just
submitted our paperwork yesterday for our argument. I wrote the

five hundred word ballot support statement. But here's the problem.

They did not allow me to sign on behalf of
Reform California.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
They did not allow me to put Reform California as
an organization that supports voter ID. They did not allow
another coalition partner of ours, Californians for Voter ID, which
raised a bunch of money to help us get the
signatures to put this on the ballot. They did not
(26:50):
allow that organization because they say, oh if you're a
campaign committee, you're not allowed to list yourself in support
of a ballot measure.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
You know who?
Speaker 2 (26:56):
The only groups that are allowed to list themselves porters
or opponents to a ballot measure in essence by effect
left wing NGOs.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Oh, you can't make this stuff up.

They change the law very recently to say the only
groups that can put themselves down on the ballot book.
You're given one hundred and twenty five characters to list.
Three four or five organizations are groups that have been
around since twenty twenty one.

They have to be five oh one C three's.

They can be a business, but they have to be incorporated,
and campaigns are not incorporated under their definition.

Well, we've been operating since two.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Thousand and three. Reform California has been around since two
thousand and three. We're pretty darn stable and we're pretty big.
But no, if you're a campaign committee, you're not allowed
to say that you support the ballot measure that tens
of thousands of volunteers who are your members and supporters.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Help put on the ballot.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
So it favors the NGOs and if you don't fit
into their compliant you've been around for five years and
you're a five o' one C three nonprofit or a business, well,
then you're listed as no supporters.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
The good news is we did get.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Good supporters to step up that fit the criteria, but
it took us a long time to get all the
paperwork together. Absolute corruption and how they're putting the ballot
book together all the more reason why we need your
help to get the plain English voter Guide that we
publish through Reform California out to your friend's family and

neighbors at the very least. If you're not willing to volunteer,
if you're not able to chip in a contribution, go
to that website, Reform California dot org and sign up
so that when we put the plain English voter guid together,
we will email it to you.

Please get your hands on the voter guide, and the
only way to get the voter guide delivered to you
is go to the website Reform California dot org. Sign
up at the bottom of the website. No, we do
not share, we do not sell any information. It is
all about growing the campaign so that we can get yes.

On Prop thirty nine passed.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
This way you're gonna get the voter guide, and then
you can just forward it onto your friends on email.
Just forward, hit that forward button, Baby Forward, Forward Forward,
Send it to all your friends and family forwarded on text.
Say look, I just got a cheat sheet for you
so that you can vote. Send it to twelve, fifteen,
twenty five people. I say twenty six and twenty twenty six.
(29:49):
Send it to twenty six of your friends and make
their voting easier and help them turn out in this election.
So we give people the cheat sheet because the ballot
book is going to be apps resolutely contaminated and deceptive,
false and misleading titles on the ballot statements or hiding
tax increases. So not only are we going to give
(30:10):
you the Prop thirty nine information, but we will give
you every single all fourteen statewide measures and all the
local measures, and they're usually hundreds of them statewide. We
will give you the plain English description of all measures
on your ballot, and we will also give you endorsement
recommendations in all the races on your ballot, including judge
and school board, where most people can't find any information
(30:34):
and they're worried about voting for a socialist chances are
in California, there's a lot of socialists on your ballot.
How do you know, Well, that's where the voter guide
from Reform California comes in pretty darn handy.

So sign up at the bottom of the website reform.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
California dot org and you'll get that voter guide on
October third when your ballot arrives.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
But try to do more, volunteer and contribute.

this happen, all right, that doesn't for me.
