What’s Inside:

  • A woman takes a whole rotisserie chicken through airport security—and it’s totally allowed

  • Her viral moment has the internet talking (and laughing)

  • A new study finds Southern accents are disappearing among younger generations

  • Linguists explain what’s causing the shift—and why it matters

Episode Description:
A woman has gone viral after casually bringing a full rotisserie chicken through airport security. The internet exploded with reactions to her TikTok, but the real surprise? TSA says it’s completely fine. According to People, the cooked bird passed inspection without issue, sparking an online debate about what you can and can’t fly with—and what’s just plain weird to carry through an airport.

Meanwhile, AP News reports that the iconic Southern accent is slowly fading among younger people in states like Georgia, North Carolina, and Louisiana. A new study shows that generational and cultural changes are shifting how people speak, especially as cities grow and populations diversify. Linguists say the "Southern drawl" is being replaced by more neutral or blended accents, and it’s not just about language—it’s about identity and the evolution of regional culture.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you
need to know for the day with Nina's what's trending.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
There's a woman who's trending this morning for going viral
for her row tissy that caused a tizzy in the airport.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Whoa nissary chicken?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, oh yeah, I knew it she was talking about
right there. But she just wanted some row tissy on
her flight, and everybody freaked out because she brought one.
So this woman has quite a bit of followers, and
so she documents a lot of her life and one
of the things that she talks about a lot is
that she has something that you call food anxiety. She
needs to have snacks with her.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
At all times.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I kind of get it, though.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
If you're a hungry person, or if you have blood
sugar issues, then you might also have food anxiety. So
she talks about how she brings snacks on her flights
all the time, but this time she brought a whole
rotisserie chickensa proteine exactly.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
That's what she said.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I was like, I just wanted clean protein and to
give myself a first class experience by bringing it on
the flight. Did she bring it like in the Costco bag,
like fully just bought or more like I took it
apart and put it in plastic baggies myself.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
No, it was in the bag she posed with it.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
It was in the bag plastic containers, Yeah, the one
that you buy it in. So the funny part is
the people that are mad aren't even the people that
were on the flight. It's the people mad are commenting
on her post about her ROTISSI.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Why are they mad? There's mad they didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Get any They're mad because they think that the smell
is disrespectful.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
What that smells delicious? Who's it disrespecting?

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Listen, this might be the first time I've ever been
sitting here going, you know what, I'm good with this
influencer's dumb thing that they did. Yeah, rotisserie chicken is
welcomed pretty much anywhere. I mean, it's it doesn't smell bad.
You know, it's not like you brought fish, nasty smelling
fish that you reheated on the plane, right right, But
it would make other people on the plane hungry. Like

(01:52):
when I like to bring food on the plane, but
whenever I get on a plane and someone else is
on there and they have like a brito or something,
and I'm like, I didn't have time to get one.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Oh man, So they got it all together, they figured
out everything.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I'm sitting here just waiting for these pretzels or whatever
they're going to give me.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah. Meanwhile, you look over and a woman's eating an entire.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Chicken on your just pulling the leg off.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Honestly, she probably would look next to you and be like,
hey man, you want some my artissery chicken. I'm sure, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was kind of inspired by it. I was. I'm
kind of surprised that so many people were hating, but
they were outsider.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
We are outside of a chicken petting zoo. I'm fine
with rotissery chickens anywhere pretty much. What I'm not fine
with is the food anxiety thing that's done go with.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I don't think that that's dumb, that's real, it's not real.
Well I might have it now, Yeah, I'm sure I would.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Like to know what her reaction is she doesn't have food, Like,
does she have an anxiety attack.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Because she mismanaged her own levels?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
She probably throws around those mental health ros like to im,
so I have a food anxiety.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
I have to take chicken on there. It's kind of
my oc.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Exactly, Like, honestly, it's so disrespectful to people that actually
deal with like D. Do you have to turn a
light switch off seven times before you leave every room?
Otherwise the world's gonna end. You don't have an OCD
your particular.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Don't talk about her trauma that way, right, speaking of
I guess I wouldn't call it trauma, but something.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
That's kind of sad.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
There's a news story that's saying that the Southern accent
may disappear. We love the Southern accent so much, but
more than five point fat what five point eight million
people have moved to the South in the twenty twenties,
which is more than four times the combined total of
the other three regions. And so what they're saying is,
with all of these new transplants to the South, the

(03:45):
accent is disappearing.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I doubt it. I don't think I'll disappear. I think
I'll stay here forever. I hope it does stay here.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Do you move to the South and not adopt it
like I thought I figured if you moved to the
Deep South.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I've never been to New Orleans. But if I lived
in New Orleans for thirty six hours, I do it
on a layover playing. I'm like, this place is you
keep it.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
So I hope it doesn't go away, and if it
starts to everybody, just adopt it so we can keep
it alive.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, I don't think it's gonna be a wait plus
which one. There's like ninety different ones. I walk down
the street here in nine different accents.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
But that's what they're saying, So keep it alive. That's
what's trending. They are fear mongering. That's what's trending, y'all,
