Speaker 1 (00:00):
Eh, let's make some.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of The
K Factor, Everything Kpop and this is your host, Bomhan.
I was a former K pop training turned touring artist
and now I am here to give you the deepest
insights on the latest East Asian news across all of entertainments.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Here's a little reminder that you can get this.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Podcast on iHeartRadio, app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get
your podcasts. Today is a bit of a special episode
because it is my birthday.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
It's littering my birthday. I'm turning twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I literally started this whole K pop journey when I
was eighteen, so it's been officially seven years now.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Oh my gosh. That is crazy.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
And uh and today kind of marks all of that
because I was also an announced as a kpop training
on my birthday seven years ago. So this is an
amazing milestone, an amazing kind of mark in the journey that.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
We're all taking part of.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
And uh, yeah, before I kind of talk about my birthday,
before I get into like all these little things and
like the things that I've been up to personally, let's
get right into some charts.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Top ten in K pop right now. Number one, we
have a.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
New debut, debut rookie group named long Shot with their
song Moonwalking.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
There you Go.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
That's number one. Number two is Internet Girl by Kat's Eye.
Number three is Jumped by Black Pink Still. Number four
is another long Shot song called sauce In. Number five
is Fashion by Cortis. Number six is Knife by en Hyphen.
Number number seven is Freak Alarm by Alpha Drive One.
(01:53):
Number eight do It by stray Kids, Number nine not
Cute Anymore by ill It. Number ten we go up
by Baby Monster. And actually kind of like looking at
this chart, there's a lot of this like new kind
of hip hop R and B sound like kind of
going through and cutting through these charts because long Shot
as a group, like there's kind of like is a
(02:15):
bit of a rookie group and starting very organic, starting
very fresh, and it's a group that debuted under J
Park's entertainment label.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
And and I feel like one.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Thing that's kind of making them stand out beyond their
marketing and beyond all these like images and like their
appearance like shows and all this stuff, is kind of
literally their sound and having that kind of like chase
atlantic like hip hop R and b sound in K
pop was super refreshing and super fun to hear, so
kind of having like a boy group present that it
was really fresh.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
So I had a lot of fun listening to long
Shot at all.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I really really enjoy one of one of the members, Louis,
who reminded me of like fourteen year old Justin Bieber,
Like literally the boys like one to one. I'm a
huge personal fan of Long Shot. When they first debuted,
they were kind of like being like like labeled as
like Evil Coortus. We've talked about Coortus on this show
like a billion times, and everyone knows how big of
(03:09):
a fan I am of Cortis. And it feels as
though they took that concept of Chordis and pushed it
even a step forward.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Like yes, it's like it's like a bunch of kids who.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Like love music, but like it feels more true to
like themselves, you know, and like they're not really trying
to like be be this produced idol group, which is
like nothing wrong with that, you know, It's just like
that's the direction that Courtis is going and long Shots
going in a completely different direction, but they're still kind
of having like a similar sound.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
So it's kind of interesting.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
So I see how these groups are gonna like match
up against each other like in the future. So I
love long Shot, I love Coortus, I love Evil Cortis.
That's why people have been calling them. It's a little
bit like kind of minimizing to like their own individuality,
but it holds a little bit of validity.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
So I really appreciate long Shots concept.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
I love Cortis's concept, and kind of speaking on this
chart a little bit again, Cats, I kind of coming
into the number two splot, the number two spot with
Internet Girl, and that's also really interesting. It's like they
they Internet Girl received a lot of criticism because it
had like a similar kind of trendy meme sound as Gnarly,
(04:21):
which is what their first song, kind of diving into
that genre, and it really received a lot of like controversy,
you know, like a lot of people loved it, a
lot of people hated it. But then one thing that
you couldn't deny was that they were amazing performers, and
like even if the song was like a little bit
kind of not to everybody's taste, everyone's like, you know what,
like these girls are dancing their butt off, you know,
and Internet Girl is kind of like taking Gnarly and
(04:44):
making still a little bit more pop and mainstream.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
And then still keeping like that kind of like gnarly weirdness.
You know. I'm like maybe that's cat's eye sound, you know.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
But then like a lot of people are kind of like, oh, well,
we forgave Gnarly because we thought it was a one
off thing, and now you guys are like taking that
like concept of chemo pushing it like we're not sure
how we feel about it, you know. So it's like
it's like when thunder strikes once, you're like, ah, it's thunder,
but when it strikes twice, you're like, hmm, maybe something's
like so maybe something's weird here, you know.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
But personally, like I love I love it Internegro Yeah, yeah,
you heard on that in Innet Girl, Like it's catchy,
you know.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
And then like like I don't know, and the choreography
hits as always, and there's always like these fun little
elements and like it fits like kind of me, you know,
like I have ADHD kind of like scroll tik talk
all the time, and it's like I need seventeen different
songs in one song, you know, I'm not saying that's
what internetgro is, but it's like that, like that's.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Just the kind of person I am.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
And I really enjoyed internetgro by cats I, even though
it's like a little bit controversial, you know, so kind
of interest is interested to see where Cat's eye is
gonna go, and like kind of when they debuted with
their song Debut and Touch, people thought they were gonna
go a little bit of like a more girly, like
fresh kind of concept. Now they're kind of go on
like a more like kind of teenage kind of vibe,
(06:03):
you know. But there's like another girl group coming up,
a girl set. They were here before cats I, but
they're making the resurgence and they're kind of keeping that
little like like that Missy Ellie like old school R
and B kind of vibe. And it's like also an
international group. So you know what, whatever your interests are,
if you really enjoy like early catsy girl sets, here
(06:25):
for you. But CATSI is doing amazing. They're under hibe
and and it's like like they're not like you know,
they're they're they're here to stay. The Internet Girl is
charting at number two, which is beautiful, So congratulations CATSI
and Black Pink. They're ever lasting success. Still Jump is
still number three, and you know what, that's because of me,
that's that's because of me. You're a welcome cats I.
(06:47):
I did that.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I'm not not cats I. You're welcome Black Pink. I
did that for you.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I I I have been streaming Jump, We have been
streaming Jump.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
So shout out Jump, shout out Black Pink. Thing.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
They've already found their success. They've established themselves to be
who they are. They don't need to prove anything else
but number three Top seven K Pop Jump by Black Pink,
number four.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
We have sauce in so I said, yeah my blood,
so I yeah my blood. Oh my god, it's so good.
It's so good.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I literally more Long Shot please, I wish there was
more Long Shot here, Like literally, please go listen to
their album if you haven't. I'm such a big fan.
Their sound speaks for themselves. If you guys don't like them,
you guys don't like their image, like all these things.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Like like this is literally someone came up to me.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
They're like, actually, I'm not gonna share this like personally,
and I go, but I really appreciate it and love
the group, but they're not for everyone, and they kind
of take that and they embrace that, you know, they're like,
you know what, well, whoever is for here you go.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
You know I love that.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
And then number five is Fashion by Cords Fashion amazing song.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
I still stream it. It's my is my gym pump song.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
If if I'm if I'm walking into a gym and
I have like bow my headphones on, I play past
Fashion and I'm like, okay, well, you know I feel cool.
I boost boost ego a little bit, lifts some weights,
go home. And then we have right under Fashion is
Knife by end Hyphen, which actually received a little bit
of controversy and was kind of like, oh, Knife is
(08:12):
like a like a go rip off bike by By,
like the go By Chortus rip off, which is kind
of like unfair, like they first of all, they had
the demo for Knife like way before Chortis Go even
came out. But they're like that kind of like but
it goes to show, you know, a lot of these
like charting songs right now is like is these like
these hip hop like heavy k pop songs and hip
(08:36):
hop heavy nine in like that old school like BTS
kind of way. Where they were like taking like like
like that like like disk tracks and like fast rap
and like all these things. You know, it's like literally
hip hop k pop in a way where like like
they're kind of is like a new sound, you know,
so it's it's awesome and they're kind of all trending
in the same direction. I don't think Knife is a
(08:57):
is like kind of like a like a like a
like a like ah directly inspired by Go. But I
think Go like proved the model that like knife would work.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
It goes knife knife knife, like like it's catchy as simple,
and we liked it. We loved Go and we love Knife.
Shout out and hyphen and speak of and hyphen they've
actually they've they've done they've done some kind of charity
work recently. I wish I could shot got more light
on him. But then they've like inspired like a bunch
of like like young Korean you have to like go
(09:26):
like donate blood. I think that's what it was. I
could be wrong, but like they're doing amazing things in
the community. They're they're they're charting number six. So congratulates
and Hyphen I love and hyphen and uh I can
meet the one day, hopefully they can come on the show.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
We have Alpha Drive one Freak Alarm.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I'm pretty sure this is one of their first songs too.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
It's too much about AFPI Drive one, to be honest,
and anyone would like to educate me in the comments.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I would love to hear more about AFID Drive one.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
I remember there was kind of something about their name
when they first released They're like, oh wow, there's just
like like zero based one, AFID drive one, like all
these things.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I'm like, dude, I would love to be named after
Drive one. What the heck?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
That's like the coolest name ever. That just is a
super cool name. Wow, I wish my name was Alpha
Drive one. I'm having an existential crisis.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Damn. Oh.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
It was because it was because they're oh my god,
there was it was their their initials were a L
D one or something and people were comparing it to
the to the Supermarket all D and they're like, are
we are we all D right now? So that I
remember that that little thing coming up when they debuted it.
But Alpha Drive one, their song Freak Alarm is amazing
(10:32):
and their music is going to speak for themselves.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
And there's a reason why they're starting so high.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
So shout out Alfred Drive one, I wish that was
my name, and uh yeah, there you go, and.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
We have straight kids of course, another group with.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Nothing left to prove, literally have sold out stadiums across
the world, lived out their dreams, lived out the dreams
of many people, and have elevated in its higher generation.
So thank you, shaykas I, thank you for contributions, and
hopefully with every release you will continue to chart and
uh and reap what you sew because what you have
sold is playing in many that inspired so much of
the youth.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
So shout at share kids.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
We have ill lip with not quban anymore, an amazing
new song, crazy choreography, not cute anymore, trending on on
on social media with trends that they didn't even make,
which is like you do.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
That's how you know it's a good song.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
You know, it's like it's beyond the trends, beyond the music,
is beyond what the company makes.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
So not cure anymore. I'm deserving this spot at number nine.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
It's like a kind of also like a new take
on like dance and like underdancing, over dancing, and then
just like dancing for the sake of or Miss. And
I think all the members of ill It did that
really well. With Not Cure Anymore. I think that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I love it all a billet, I love Not Cuban Anymore.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
And uh yeah, number ten, we have Baby Monster when
we go up. Baby Monster has been kind of like
in and out of like these charts, and to see
them kind of like come in strong and have this
new comeback and like be able to stay in.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
These charts for central a long time. It's also beautiful
to watch it.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
So shout out Baby Monster, Shout strak Kids, shout shout
out af A Drug One shout out and Hyphen shoutout
Cortus and long Shot Black, Think kats I and you
guys are amazing, and kind of going into more K
pop news now instead of like kind of just rambling
about these charts in these songs. We have the sixty
eighth annual Grammy Awards. What I Gotta Do with K Pop?
(12:14):
So the Grammys in the USA will take place in
February first, twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
That's tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I don't know when this episode is gonna be released
on my birthday, January thirty first. That's when I'm recording
this episode. And the Grammys will take place tomorrow, February first,
at the Crypto dot com a Rina in La Los Angeles,
with Trevor Noah hosting for the sixth and final time.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Cool What I Gotta Do with K Pop? Oh?
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Actually, this year's Grammy Awards are shaping out to be
a huge event with some major K pop representation. AAH
Buddy's dream is to go perform at the Grammys. Every
Asian kid like you, we want to perform the Grammys,
but like we've never seen anyone Asian do the show,
so it's.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Like, I guess we will do K pop. You know.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Rose from Black Pink is making history as the first
solo K pop artist to perform at the Granny At
the Grammy's not the Grannies. That's that's my award, and
that's that's the award that takes place in my apartment.
That's she's performing the Grammys, not the Grannies. She's nominated
for three awards, including Record of the Year, Song of
(13:23):
the Year, and Best Pop Duo Slash Group Performance for
her collaboration with Bruno mars A paza Jo. Honestly, I
forgot that happened. That was so long, but she's still
making ways. I think like every single time we did
like a top ten chart, a Patza was still a
part of it for like fifty weeks, and it got
(13:44):
to some point I was like yo, like like OK,
back to producers, I'm not reading this.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Let's let's get over this.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I remember playing like basketball, well like a bunch of
like sixty year olds in Vegas and they were like, ah,
that's the a Poso guy, and they're a pointing me
just because I was Asian.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
And it's just like this.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Is like kind of like it has like such like
a big cultural influence. And I remember even debating on
this show where they're like whether Gungnam Style had a
bigger kind of cultural wave or a pozsu you know.
I think Gunho style like set that stage for apots
it to like blow out the way that it did.
And it's like this is like this generation's Gungnam Style,
you know, and like for it to like be like
(14:23):
nominated for like all these awards and like all these things,
like guess that's awesome, like like she really deserves that
like that she really did that.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I forgot that happened. I'm not gonna lie, but it's
been a while.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
We're going into twenty twenty six, celebrating twenty twenty five.
Let's go, that's what we do it. But yeah, she's
she's gonna be performing at the Grammys. Another group that's
performing at the Grammys is Katsi Whoo number two with
Internet Girl right now, amazing performers. They're gonna kill that stage.
Joe Yo Katsi debuting like literally like I think two
(14:53):
years ago was it. I think it's like two years ago,
Like it's super recent. And for them to like be
able to come and perform the Grammys now, like that's
so beautiful. It's like they like I'm like personally, I'm
like super proud of this group and like watching them
like row and like all these things. Like of course,
like I had nothing to do with it, Let's be honest,
(15:13):
I wasn't there, but you know, all the fans, everybody's
contributed so like even liking their posts, sharing their posts,
commenting on their posts, all these things, like you guys
have elevated and like that fandom has has elevated this
group to be what it is, you know. So so
all of these things that we're announcing that we're saying
today is only possible because of the listeners of k
(15:34):
K Factor podcast, Keep Off fans and and everybody who's
just kind of like in this, in this beautiful thing,
you know.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
CATSI has of course a lot of global representation, with
members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
They're set to perform as part of the Best New
Artists segment and they really are. They really debuted super recently.
They are new artists, so kind of like stepping into
our little our we've been trying to like transition this
year into like more East Asian entertainment as a whole.
So we want to talk a little bit about seapop
(16:11):
and they're kind of like bridging like that K pop
and seapop.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
We have XO. You know a lot of Chinese members
in XO.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Uh. If you're a capop fan, there's no way you
don't know. XO is a bit like I know, it's
an older generation, but even like like like they're there
are songs that always come back like ton uh, like
the first snow.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
No it's like it's gonna be here forever. Whatever it
snows in Korea, They're gonna play XO.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
You know. Xo, a popular K pop group, has just
released their eighth full album Reverse, with six members, including Ley,
who hasn't participated in years, and that is of course
a Chinese members, so kind of making a wave in
in that kind of.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Like seapop seapop phantom, that seapop kind of.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Community, and that's a little seapop space, you know, of course,
kind of like wrapping up these like kind of K
pop stuff. We have a Pink's fifteenth anniversary, A Pink
celebrating their fifteenth anniversary of course, another older, older group, right,
and it kind of feels weird like presenting these this
news it's like.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Who's this four?
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Like, you know, like or if you're listening and you're
like eighteen, like do you know a Pink?
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Like we can leave a comment below, you know.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
We have Black Pink obviously gearing up for their first
full album nearly four years with a release soon touch
to the tenth anniversary, and kind of wrapping up these okay,
this is the this is the news thing, kind of
just blasting news in your face, and it's like, you
know what, these these are things to be excited for.
You know, BC has tour tickets, the ticket wars have
gone out.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
I lost It's okay. We have Black Pink with their
with the new release.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
We have oh, you know like all these He's like
it's pretty cool, you know, but like, what's the tea?
Speaker 3 (18:02):
What's the heat?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Bomah, give me something, give me something spicy that I
can go and tell my friends and they're like, yo,
like what you know what I mean? I have something
for you. Kip hop group Astro with their frontman chat
In Wu, is currently facing taxi badge allegations.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Jo what.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
It's like one of those things you wake up and
you go, no, okay, and you put that on your
phone and you're kind of like you're brushing your teeth
and you're like, wait, what was that? And he's accused
of evading twenty billion Korean one, which is about like
thirteen million dollars by kind of like allegedly diverting his
income into a family run top many established by his mother,
(18:45):
but like and then the sole regional tax office they
did an investigation and found out that the company, which
was an eel restaurant in like an island, like they
like didn't have like a proper licenses and allegedly was
used to like help him with taxes and evade thirteen
(19:08):
million dollars in taxes.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
And he goes, yo, my bad.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
And he had to issue a formal apology to the
public and the police for tax evasion. Yo, no man,
I'm be honest, that's none of my business. What a
man does with his taxes got nothing to do with me.
But but in this space, just he had to apologize.
He had to be like, yo, guys, till everybody my bad.
(19:36):
It says that Chai has issued Cha has not issued.
Oh my god, Okay, we can got this. Cha has
issued an apology and about to cooperate with the investigations,
staying that he'll accept the final decision from the authorities
is his agency. Fantagio has also released a statement denying
any wrongdoing and claiming the company was a legitimate cultural
management business. The case is ongoing, with Cha's side filing
(20:00):
a pre assessment review request to challenge the tax authority's decision.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
So big news.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Jinu from K pop Demon Hunters is doing tax evasion,
but allegedly well of course he's not confirmed.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
The case is so ongoing. It's just it's just we
we love timing so much. And he's like, he's like
the most handsome guy in K pop. Everybody's comparing him
to Genu from K pop Demon Hunters, and he's like,
oh my god, Genu is fading taxes, like, come on, now,
come on. He's done worse things. He's stile, he's stolen
(20:40):
everybody's soul. That's pretty bad.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
All right now, kind of jumping into cape not K
pop news, jpop news.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
The j pop scene is actually buzzing.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
We were talking a lot about Citipop in my favorite
Citi Pop songs last week.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
But we have Rosie Chronicles in jpop group with a
new single Misery I Know ten Been and there is out.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Now. We have Any's new.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Single Pulse is also available with exclusive trading cards, exactly
the Japanese. The Japanese scene, they're doing exclusive trading cards.
They moved beyond, they moved beyond photo cards and now
they're trading cards. Cody Lee's new EP Gold is dropping soon.
We have world tours from jpop artists with XG, baby Metal, Miyabi,
(21:27):
Henri Fuji Kase and One Okay Rock that they're embarking
on world tors in twenty twenty six. If no one
has watched One Okay Rock perform just go on YouTube
look at One Okay Rock and just watch any of
their live performances. I have literally never seen better live
performance in my entire life. I literally remember being I
(21:47):
think I think I was fourteen. I was fourteen years
old when they dropped like their tour tapes and all
these things, and that was one of the main reasons
that like it brought like this light into my eyes
and like into like my heart, and like I literally
had a dream that I was One Okay Rock like
performing in front of all these festivals and like these
tens and thousands of people, and like those is one
like performance when he was like jumping over people and
(22:10):
he lands, he hits his guitar, everybody goes crazy. I
had a dream that was me, and that's why I
chose the career life that I have like now, and
that was all because of One Okay Rock. One Okay
Rock is one of the best performers I've ever seen
in my life. Japanese jpop concerts like you need to go,
you need to see the footage. You need to see
these tapes, Like it's so much energy and people are
(22:32):
just there to like enjoy and it's such like a
refreshing thing, like it's they're they're really truly like it's
it's just it's such.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
A pure space.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
So holds it like shed more light, shed more light
on it. I love One Okay Rock and they're embarking
on their World's hour again twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Watch their tapes if they come to you.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
I really recommend going so One Okay Rock, Baby Metal, Miavi,
Riach and x G.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
I also love Kase how lot of their songs on
my plays. But yeah, new k.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Jpop girl groups, for example, Hannah it's making waves with
their catchy singles like blue Jeans, we have I Know
the End is known for a unique voice. We have
King New is also kind of they're just kind of
like these a little shout outs, like these little artists
I have been enjoying lately. And Hannah's new song blue Jeans
(23:19):
kind of ties into my my my rant, My huge
rant last episode about Mug's Danielle Yo, like they they
hive has.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Like this new game what was it called? I was calling.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
It's not called Hive minds. I wrote down on my notes,
hold on, let me let me go check it was
so high it was. It was a rhythm game. It
was called Rhythm High. Yeah, there you go, Rhythm Hive.
There you go, Rhythm Hive. And it's on their website
and all these things they have like just go does
group photo of mugs and they finally removed Danielle from that,
(23:57):
which kind of like causes scene with like the fandom
and all of these things. So I just want to
give you gus a little bit updated of like that
whole thing. And yeah, that kind of wraps up our
news session, our news section and kind of segueing into
like my own personal life. Yo, what's up guys? Is
your host Baumha. I've been here for a little bit.
(24:18):
It's been like it's been under a year. We have
the the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards coming up again in around
April at south By Southwest in Austin, Texas, and that
was kind of like what inspired me to like kind
of like really really push for this podcast and like
really like like the season of like everybody I met
at that day kind of like really just motivated me
to keep going with this and like know that like
(24:40):
at the end of it, we're going to be rewarded
and like in some way, and just really just like
kind of seeing everybody try their best and then seeing
where that leads to and like me also wanted to
give my best. So we're invited again to the south
By Southwest Podcast Awards in a couple of months, and
I'm so excited to go and kind of like hopefully present.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
I don't know, like we don't know where what is
gonna be.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Our podcast hasn't been around long enough to like be
kind of eligible for any awards yet, but we're gonna
keep on pushing. With your support, we're gonna eventually win
one of these awards. And just letting you guys know
that's literally is one of our goals. So if you
guys are listening to this podcast, if you guys listening
to this episode, just know that your contribution and your
presence here really really helps me.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
It really means a lot to me.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
So thank you guys for kind of supporting the podcast
and kind of being there. In three months is gonna
like it's gonna like let me know like kind of
like how far we've come.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
You know.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
So shout out to you guys for listening, Shout out
to iHeartRadio for hosting those amazing shows and giving us
as platform, and yeah, we're gonna be. We're gonna be
at the Podcast Awards. What else is literally my birthday.
I have been kind of dedicating the past like two
months of my life working on this project that I
call Project Capture, where I'm kind of capturing this moment
(25:52):
in time where I had this dream with like meeting
some of my close friends.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Like tour the world and perform together.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
And after I kind of capturing that moment and sharing
it with the fans and having the fans come along
on that journey and also like support us and hopefully
help us realize our dream and hopefully we can go
to Europe, we can go to the Philippines, Hawaii, we
can go to we can go to like you know,
everywhere around the US too, and just hoping to share
that stage and share those experiences with my friends. That's
Project Captures. With my friend Anthony who was also previously
(26:21):
on the podcast. Hopefully we can do another episode with
him soon and maybe one even like co hosts with him.
And it's such like a beautiful thing, you know. So
we ended up having our official first concert together. I
kind of talked about it like last episode, but we
finally had our first concert it last Friday. And ever
(26:42):
since I moved back to New York, like the concerts
I've been going to haven't been like bag K pop concerts.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Of course, we went to the present one show, but
there's been.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Like underground, like bush wick like rock shows with like
four people punching each other, like what are we doing?
You know, And it's like like I've been kind of
going to these shows over and over and like I
time of felt so invited and so welcomed and like
so like a part of an experience, and like last Friday,
(27:12):
I was able to kind of like bring that feeling
and bring that vibe to like a K pop concert.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
You know. We had like my friend like Anthony playing guitar.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
We were like moshing, we were like we were like
we were like just like jumping around. We were crowdsurfing
and like just just cheering and dancing in a circle.
Like it was like step up and it was just
like such like a concert that didn't feel like I
was just performing, Like I get up there everybody's there,
it gets like cheer me on, and I perform for
an hour and then I leave. It felt like an
(27:41):
event that we're all here is like a it's like
a little mix between like a house party and like
a birthday magician.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Like it literally every song we were dancing with somebody
in the crowd, somebody came up up. The stage was
like super close to everybody, so it's like everybody like
we're all touching. We were all like dancing together, we
were all like just singing like songs that like everybody knew.
It was so much fun. It was like such like
a transformative experience. I hope I could like experience that more.
And that's what Project Capture is like kind of hoping
(28:17):
to bring Hopefully I can bring this to tour and
like kind of like bring these events and like these
intimate spaces to everybody who's listening. You know, so thank
you for listening to this, thank you for platforming me,
and thank you for allowing me to experience something so amazing.
And the first show being in New York was super
special because my mom was able to be there.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
She's been a little bit sick lately, but she'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
It's literally just like like being able to like perform
for her while she was like nine, the best circumstances
was really something. It was something like that was super
like emotional for me. So yeah, and also like a
lot of these influences are from New York, so having
the first show be in New York and having it
be kind of so well received by like everybody was
(28:57):
like super like beautiful. I hope like we can bring
appealing to like everybody. It's like everywhere, so here that goes.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
It's my birthday.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
I'm turning twenty five. Oh my god, I am so old.
I'm so old. I woke up today my back started hurting.
I was like I wanted to dance yesterday. I was like, wow,
grown man getting in all wiggly, looking around, being like okay, well.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
I'd be like the teacher was older than me. I mean,
I know a lot of people wither than me in
that class. But I was like, wow, it's just getting
just getting wiggly. Who's the wiggliest in this room. It's me.
I'm the wiggliest.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Twenty five is lots of lots of comprehend I feel
like my brain has developed now. I feel like a
lot of things I've done in like the past like
eight years, like I'd do a lot different if like
I literally woke up today and like was like baseball
these decisions, if like every decision was like on a
piece of paper in front of me, I think I
would have.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Done a lot of things differently. And that's a lot
of that's part of growing up.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
That's part of like kind of like realizing what life is,
you know, like now everything is so urgent, I everything.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
So so so life deciding you know, so uh kind of
kind of feeling like there's a little bit more clarity
when I woke up today and it's just like this
willingness to like push and like still chase my dreams
and like wanting to like but wanted to just like
do good, you know.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I feel like that's something that's like a little bit
on the forward, like a front of my mind right now.
But either way, that's those episodes of K Factor everything

the end of this episode, but for what I mean
