night in the NBA last night, big hard ten games,

and you went contrarian, you had an opportunity to cha
ching make a few bucks last night back and some dogs.
And we had fifty nine college basketball games on the card.
Last night, and yep, we definitely had some upsets there

as well. So this is a fun time of year.
Even though the sports calendar says January playoff football, obviously
one more Sunday here before the big game, so we
will get to that. Let you know what the latest
market movement for these two games that remained a f
C championship, NFC championship. We'll get you caught up with there. Also,

UH some news regarding uh the NFL as far as
possible coaching changes and hires and possible offseason act physicians. Uh.
It continues to roll on, as does Major League Baseball,
continuing to dominate headlines here over the last week. And

it's amazing because we don't often here about Major League
Baseball until we get to February when pitchers and catchers
are getting ready, of course, to report. But you can
throw all that out the window. Is major League Baseball
has dominated the headlines and uh and in fantastic fashion.

And we're not talking about big signings or blockbuster trades
or anything along those lines. No, we are talking scandal.
We are talking drama, scandal, and nothing, and I mean
absolutely nothing sells better in this country then scandal and
drama and reality TV and it's it is front and

center cheating scandal. Ha man, this has been an amazing
week and really a tough week for two cities. Number
one Houston. Who And if i'm Bill O'Brien right now,
I am thank you very much. I know he is
thanking the baseball gods for bringing the hammer down on

the Houston Astros, because that pretty much takes the headlines
away from how n f he is is not only
a coach but also as a general manager of the
Houston Texans and that absolute throwop job over the weekend,
blowing a twenty four to nothing lead in a divisional
matchup game on the road in Kansas City is just

as horrific as it gets. But Nope, nobody's talking about
that in Houston. Why, you can thank Alex Cara and
you can thank the entire Houston Astros organization for taking
the focus off of the crap that Bill O'Brien continues
to put out on the field, patting himself on the
back for offensive line moves and trades that he made

this year, when in fact, his offensive line ranks pretty
much in the bottom five of just about every statistical
category that meant anything. But don't let the fact get anyway.
How about that Alex Cora, Yes, Alex Cora, which brings
me to the second city, who is also not having
a good week. Hasn't been a good couple of weeks, Boston,

That is right, the Red Sox faithful now who also
nine times out of its end are the Patriot faithful.
And let's they've had to go through watching Derrick Henry
run over Tom Brady and company. We uh, we have
had story after story of the Brady era. Everything's over
in New England. That the Patriot dynasty is done, stick

a fork in it. Uh. Then, of course they've got
to deal with the fact that last night, as a
double digit favorite at home, the Boston Celtics got bulldozed
by the low Detroit Pistons. Yes, good nights. Yes. And
then the Red Sox had to announce in the last
for the eight hours that they were no longer going

to be managed by one Alex Cora that they found
it best if he just stepped away from from the
team because of all the things that are going And then,
and you know, my all time favorite is that the
Red Sox held a press conference yesterday, ownership, management, the hierarchy,
the the who's who in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Yesterday called a press conference for what reason. I have
absolutely no idea, But they did let us know that
in fact, and they lined up and the pictures are great. Um,
they did line up and let us know in fact,
including principal owner John Henry, gave a statement about them
(05:56):
the mutual of departing of the ways with Alex Cora.
And then when they were given any sort of question
about the bigger story, you know about, Hey, you know,
what's so, what's true, what's not? What's what cheating? Did
you do a Apple watch? What's going on? I what
have you heard anything that had any substance to it?

The answer was, and I quote, we can't comment on
an ongoing investigation. And that's pretty much what we got
the entire press conference. So I am not exactly sure
why or what the next necessity was to roll out
for uh four dudes. They're out on a platform there
(06:36):
to tell us that what we already knew, which of
course was that uh, you know he they were going
to be looking for a new manager. And then when
we needed some meat and potatoes there. They gave us nothing.
They gave us absolutely nothing. They gave us Brussels sprouts there. Yesterday.
Just awful press conference made absolutely no sense. Is the
way to do it. You could have just released a
statement instead of wasting everybody's time. But the truth is

that is coming down and the rumors and the things
that are being leaked right now regarding the punishment for
the Boston Red Sox, it's not pretty, guys, it is
not pretty at all. So alex Cora gone, Patriots, dynasty over,
Celtics aren't going anywhere out of the East, and the

Boston Bruins continue to be above average. But does anybody
really care about the NHL? So that means that entire
city they won't be booking any parades anytime soon. So
it is going up in flames and much the same
as happening in Houston right now as the Rockets. Oh

they lost last night as a double digit favorite as
well to the Portland trail plays. Yeah, Houston Text, Houston Astros,
Houston rock to cities in flames. We'll go over the
rest of the upsets last night too well. Coming off

They're expecting it. And you know it's big when you

get John Henry and the three other talking heads showing
up at an hour long press conference and they answer
zero questions. Uh, you know something big is coming. And
also a report yesterday when when the report came out
that I guess there was a conference call Rob Manford

and the rest of Major League, the baseball ownership groups
all at a conference call, and I guess it was
made abundantly clear on that conference call from Rob Manfred
that um, keep your thoughts to yourself with what you
are about to hear. Was as far as punishment or
anything else along nose lines, I guess that point was

stressed home that yeah, there is no need to comment
on on anything at this particular point, and the Dodgers,
of course tweeted that out there whoever runs the social
media department had made that comment that you know, we
were told to not comment on the matter, and I
can say this. The other thought was that Rob Manford
(11:09):
also made it abundantly clear without saying it, that if
you did not keep your thoughts to yourself, that what
happened to the astros um would uh would would let's say,
be a hell of a lot worse than dealing with
loss of draft picks and money. So the bottom line
(11:31):
is I would not anticipate a whole lot of Major
League Baseball team saying boo about this. The it does,
of course, remain to be seen what is going to
happen with the New York Mets, because the New York
media very hard for them to let it, let this go.
Carlos Beltran being mentioned in that report. So what happens
with Carlos Beltran hired as the Mets manager? How can
(11:54):
the Mets justify firing a guy that they hired because
of what he did as a player, but yet Major
League Baseball didn't find what he did agregious enough to
hand out any punishment tone, So why would you fire
a guy for something he did years ago as a
(12:16):
player and Major League Baseball is not coming down on
So major League Baseball is not coming down and why
would you because the media wants you to, because the
optics aren't. And that's really the argument now is what
why can you have a guy manage your team whose
integrity is questioned? And that really comes down to it.

But again it's a slippery slow You got a guy
that did who hasn't been hasn't been punished for doing anything.
Everybody else Guys have lost their job, Guys are getting banned,
Guys are getting suspended. Not Karl's Beltrand. He was implicated,
but yet major League Baseball is not punishing the only

player that they named in that report. So the Mets
are stuck between a rock and a hard place, mostly
because if the Mets were to, let's say, walk away
from Carlos Beltran, while they don't really have cause to
do it, so that means they're gonna have to pay
Carlos Beltran, whether he coaches or he doesn't. At this
(13:19):
particular point, they also are already paying Mickey Callaway since
they got rid of him. While he was still under contract,
which means they'd have to hire a third coach, which
means the only the New York Mets could actually be
paying three head coaches three managers at the same damn time,
(13:40):
which is really what is at stake here. And if
you guys have been following the Wilpons, yeah, um, not exactly,
not exactly, shall we say splurging. Will the Wilpons be
and I doubt very much it's gonna be very interested
to see what they do. Will they fire them, owing
(14:00):
to have to hire somebody else and continue to pay
not one, not to but three people to manage the
New York Mets this year, So a lot to be decided,
total craziness including let us not forget guys, pictures and
catchers just around the corner. But has anybody bothered to
look at the futures market four Major League Baseball yet,
(14:24):
Because if you are the savvy type of sports investor,
then you might very well be able to see some
value on the board here, along with some wind total
opportunities and of course odds to win the division. If
you look at the board here and maybe you start
diving into this a little bit, A unprecedented scandal like
(14:47):
this at this point in the season might very well
orfer you the opportunity to be able to jump in
and get some teams at prices that I don't know
today before they announce what's gonna happen with the Red
Sox the Mets, the trickle down effect from that, if
you're navigating the markets here, guys, there might very well
(15:08):
be some opportunities. For instance, if you take a look
at the current T twenty World Series odds and you see,
of course the Yankees at three to one at the top,
Dodgers five and a half to one, Astro still listed
six and a half to one guys to win the
World Series. The Braves are eleven and a half to one,
(15:30):
Twins sixteen to one, Phillies eighteen to one, and then
of course the Cubs, Nationals and A's at one. How
about those Mets, the Mets and the Tampa Bay raise
a one, the Cardinals and the reds ave to one.
The White Sox, which are gonna be Trust me when
I tell you, the White Sox are gonna be a
better team this year. One Padres thirty to one. And
(15:52):
then there's those Red Sox, the Red Sox and Angels
coming in at thirty five to one, and picking up
the rear the Cleveland Indians and the Diamondbacks at one.
So the Yankees are the favorites to win the American
League at plus one thirty five, the Astros right behind
it a plus three. The National League the Dodgers plus
(16:12):
two twenty, followed by the Braves plus four seventy five.
You do have the Mets at ten and a half
to one if you want to go that route. So
I can tell you the Astros win total this year
from in a couple of different sports books in the country.
Here seven is what I am seeing. There is a

wind total posted right now for the Houston Astros at
nineties seven games. Yep. Uh. That trails only two other
teams who have monster win totals as well, Number one
the Yankees and one the Dodgers have ninety nine and
the Houston Astros have seven. So I can tell you

of the markets have not adjusted necessarily just yet, And
having talked to a couple of the a couple of
these sports books managers across the country here, it doesn't
look like they have adjusted just yet because they're not
overreacting is what I was told that, Uh, it's kind
(17:21):
of a weight and c mode right now. The numbers
that they have up we're based upon obviously the current
rosters and the way they think it's, uh, it's gonna
roll out, so they really, um, it's still a really
good roster, is what I was being told. And that
the fact that there's chaos in January, they don't necessarily
think that, uh, that's going to translate. If something happens,

they might adjust, but at this point is the number
for the Houston Astros. Now, if you think it's going
to get worse for them, and if you think this
is gonna be extremely difficult to be able to overcome, yeah,
airs and opportunity guys for you to be able to
get and fade a couple of teams on the board

here this year based upon the information that you are
seeing coming out over the first over the last couple
of weeks, So dive in, start taking a look. It
might be worth putting a couple of bucks down Baden,
maybe a couple of these teams, backing a few other
teams that might benefit from the downfall of these teams.

when we take a look at the upsets, and there
was some upsets last night. Guys in the NBA, we'll

start out west. How about them Lakers? Huh? We got
the unit browse still nursing a bit of an injury there,
don't get broke his ass. A couple of weeks so
ago there fell down and usually when dudes who are
over seven foot fall football fall down, it's it's a
long way to go. So but he wasn't hurt enough

to head over to the Packer game over the weekend,
which was important. So he's okay. But he wasn't okay
to play last night. And I'd like to say that
the Lakers they didn't need him. You're only taking on
the Orlando Magic, but I'd be lying because the Magic
beat the Lakers last night one nineteen to one eighteen.

And the Magic did it as a ten and a
half point road underdog last night. Churching here people. They
were also plus four fifty on the money line, and
if you took the Magic on the money line, then yeah,
good for you. Uh. The NBA favorite though last night
all in all five four and one on the night

there was a push with Dallas. Uh, depending on when
you got in it closed that Dallas laying four on
the road in Sacramento. Who is just they can't they
can't seem to win a game with Luke Walton and
company there. But if you were good enough to get
it at four and a half, then that's a winner.
Congratulations there, they were only able to beat Sacramento there

by by four points. There were three total upsets, though
we told you about Orlando beating the Lakers, which nobody saw.
By the way, the over in that game. The total
for the Lakers was in that game was to ten,
and they clearly went over there by scoring almost two points.
Detroit's we had mentioned earlier, the Detroit Pistons uh no

Blake Griffin and just a whole bunch of rag tag
bunch of dudes along with uh Andre Drummond, which is
really all they have. Not a good road team at
all traveling to the Boston Garden take on the Celtics.
Now the Celtics UH nine and a half ten point
favorite at home in this one, and it was great

because it certainly started off like you thought this was
going to be a easy win for Boston, but it
was anything but. As the Detroit Pistons win that game, guys,
and take it. Beat them actually rather easily too as
a as a ten point dog. They were plus three
seventy five on the money line as well, and they

took down the Boston Celtics, who I don't want to
say it, guys, but it was kind of a one
sixteen to one oh three is what they lost. It
was a bit of a look ahead spot as the
Celtics are playing tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. That's right,
they got a game tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. So

it was a bit of a look ahead spot there,
and they were caught looking because they lost one sixteen
to one thirteen there. And Gordon Hayward drops seven boards,
had an assist on the night, but it was not uh,
it was not getting a job done. And uh, that
was just chalking up to yet another another one of

those congratulations you uh, you lost Boston and you continue
to lose. You lost your Red Sox manager and now
you're probably gonna lose draft picks and a whole lot
of money. And Tom Brady has already left. It's a sad,

How about this, Toronto finally getting healthy again on the road,

Thunder who everyone thought was gonna be a lottery team
this year, but they end up bringing in Chris Paul

and Chris Paul doing an amazing job with these young guys.
They've got a lot of great shooters on this team.
They are playing hard for Billy Donovan and they have
been dominating and they were a one point favorite going
into that game last night against Toronto who just welcome
back Seam and Gasol and uh, you know, hopefully they'll

get pal back and endfully they're slowly but surely the
Toronto Raptors are getting back. And uh, they looked back
last night, that's for sure, as Toronto took down the
Oklahoma City Thunder in that game last night, one thirty two,
one twenty one and uh, you could tell welcome back
Norman Pale twenty three points, two boards. Uh, Siakam was

all over the place. They missed his athleticism and the
depth continues to show there. But that was a lot
of points. Two and fifty one points in a game
that only had a total of two hundred and twelve,
So a lot of points scored in that game last night.
Congratulations Toronto, those of you that had him on the
money line plus one hundred boom, you got yourself a

winning ticklet. And how about then Portland Trailblazers and Carmelo
and Carmelo continues to roll with the Portland Trailblazers. Last
night they found themselves in Houston, a reunion of sorts
for Carmelo Anthony. Those of you that might recall Carmelo
was a Houston rocket for a little while, or it didn't.

It didn't end well, But that was the old Carmelo Anthony.
That was the unrealistic Carmelo Anthony. The Portland Trailblazers have
the new and improved, updated version of Carmelo Anthony and
as a eight and a half nine point dog. Last
night on the road uh in the second game of
a back to back, they dominate guys. They took down

the Houston Rockets, who Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Clint Capella,
the entire crew. They're just toasted by one Carmelo Anthony
and Damian Lillard and the crew guys, they dominated him
one seventeen to one oh seven. Lillard drops twenty seven

uh seven and seven Russell Westbrook at thirty one points
eleven boards, twelve assists. What a shock? Uh, And boy,
wasn't a good night for James Harden who was three
or twelve there, guys, Uh, I only had thirteen points
and it's it's so unlike him to miss that many
shots but did not get to the free throw line.

Not a good night for Hardened Westbrook. He was the man,
but it wasn't enough. One seventeen and one oh seven.
And our boy there Carmelo Anthony taking a look there.
How about eighteen points last night? Guys, huh eighteen points
three or three from the free throw line, one of
two from downtown, seven of ten from the field, Carmelow, Lillard, McCullum, Whiteside,

bays Moore, the whole, the whole crew, guys getting it
done for Portland. Who who took down the the Houston Rockets?
Also plus three fifteen on the money line in that game,
So yeah, there were there was some money to be
made there in the NBA last night. In all totals
ended up split down the middle five and five favorites

were four opportunities to be able to pounce on some
of these underdog games last night, so it was goods
off and the same thing. In college basketball, it remains
an absolute head scratcher. It is nuts, and I repeat
nuts in college basketball this year. And if you are

getting ready or just waiting until football is over before
you start diving in and getting ready for March madness,
what you have missed thus far is nuts. Absolutely craziness
is what's been going on. And again last night we
had some we had some top teams fall and it
seems every time that a blue blood takes control, wins

a couple of games, gets in the top ten, top fifteen,
they get blown out by somebody, and uh last night
in the top twenty five, number eighteen, Seaton Hall on
the road taking on number five Butler the mid major
Darling And would the Butler Bulldogs be able to hold
serve there and take down a Seaton Hall team that
(29:16):
has been just on fire here? Um, while, I mean,
let's face it, they have quite possibly I think one
of the uh one of the best players in the
nine a matter of fact, I know they've got one
of the best players in the country uh In on
their team. And when it was all said and done
last night, yeah, it was it was kind of a

bit of a beat down there, as Butler came out
with a commanding lead going into the going into the
second half, and that got evaporated rather quickly. A Seaton
Hall upsets Butler seventy eight to seventy. They were a
four and a half point road underdog. They were plus
one seventy on the money line. Keep an eye on
this Seaton Hall team, guy, is they are no joke

when I tell you, absolutely no joke. This is a
team that, yes, you are definitely going to want to
keep an eye on because they have put it together
here over the last month. And like we have been
telling you, this is the kind this is the time
of year when you start to learn a little bit,
so the cream starts to rise to the top in
college hoops, and uh, it's starting to rise there with

this team from Seaton Hall who is absolutely getting the
John job done. Miles Powell, Guys, remember that name, Miles
Pale point seven boards, two assists. The kid is an
absolute beast. He's gonna be a top five draft pick
this year. Uh, he is the real deal. They were
down ten at half, they outscore Butler thirty and the

on the Kentucky had dominated this game for all all

of the first half, three quarters of the second half,
and then South Carolina went on a little run there
at the end to get this within I believe one,
or within within two. Actually they tied it up two,

or three game winning streaks and then all of a
sudden they are they lose, and lose to unranked teams
in the most unbelievable ways to do it, and it
just it continues to happen time and time again. So
here was on the road Kentucky last night with the

particular point, I believe seventy seventy six. So uh, you
have South Carolina inbounding all the way under their basket,
across the uh, across the floor with an opportunity with
just a couple of seconds left to get it done,
and it was I'm sorry, it was seventy uh. Let's

see here, seventies six, seventy six. This is what it
sounded like as they really trying to get it beat
step back out, a lot of time, plenty of time
to push co starred with one three yea unbelievable scene

in South Carolina as Kentucky drops there last night, guys,
and it was it was the final. They were a
six point home dog South Carolina and Kentucky blew a
five point lead there and under a minute to go,
uh plus two twenty on the money line. Congratulations. Also,
there were only two teams going into action yesterday that

remained undefeated. One of them is in San Diego. San
Diego stayed a perfect eighteen and oh the other the
All Burned Tigers and Bruce Pearl and company continuing their trek.
Uh you're talking about. They lost four starters last year,
guys to the NBA, three starters to the NBA, and
they were a very upper classman team. They didn't bring

back a whole lot of a whole lot of people
from last year's team, a whole lot of kids. So
this is a relatively young team that doesn't shoot the
three well. However, the scheduling has allowed them to be
defeated to this particular point. So they go into Alabama
on the road, their arch nemesis, Alabama, and Alabama this

was a pick um game, guys, and you know what
we actually went off as a one and a half
point to home underdog is what Alabama went out as
a lot of late money came in on Auburn and
Auburn got smoked. Number four team in the country. Auburn
got smoked by Alabama eighty three to sixty four plus
one oh five on the money line for Alabama. Another

great opportunity for you to be able to profit last night.
And finally, how about Temple Temple beating Wichita State number sixteen.
Wichita State had been rolling over teams but found themselves
on a road in Temple in Philly in a really
tough environment at its showed they lost sixty five to
fifty three Temple four and a half point home dog

covers plus one sixty five on the money line, getting
the job done. And finally there was one top twenty
five team that did cover. And this top team, I
have no doubt will be a number one seed. That's
how good this team has been this year. There are
a couple of teams that just seemed to be heads

and tails above everybody else. They're not getting any love,
but they are the number two team in the country
and they showed why they're the number two team in
the country last night. Baylor number two, Baylor laying nine
last night covered and there win at home against Iowa State.
And the thought here was that Baylor was in a
letdown spot because they had just beaten Kansas on the

road for the first time in a million years at
the Allen Field House. Uh, and they did it quite convincingly.
Maybe this would have been a letdown spot here against
an Iowa State team who is quite honestly just not good.
But they were laying nine and if you laid it,

believe it or not, eleven wins on the season, eleven

totals as well. Number one the Yankees and are one.
The Dodgers have ninety nine and the Houston Astros have
So I can tell you the markets have not adjusted
necessarily just yet. And having talked to a couple of
the a couple of the sports books managers across the

country here, it doesn't look like they have adjusted just
yet because they're not overreacting, is what I was told. That, Uh,
it's kind of a weight and c mode right now.
The numbers that they have up we're based upon obviously
the current rosters in the way they think it's, uh,
it's gonna roll out, so they really, um, it's still

a really good roster, is what I was being told.
And that the fact that there's chaos in January, they
don't necessarily think that, uh, that's going to translate. If
something happens, they might adjust, but at this point is
the number for the Houston Astros. Now, if you think
it's going to get worse for them. And if you
think this is going to be extremely difficult to be

able to overcome, Yeah, there's an opportunity guys, for you
to be able to get and fade a couple of
teams on the board here this year based upon the
information that you are seeing coming out over the first
over the last couple of weeks. So dive in, start
taking a look. It might be worth putting a couple
of bucks down Baden, maybe a couple of these teams

backing a few other teams that might benefit from the

Even though the sports calendar says January playoff football, obviously
one more Sunday here before the big game, so we
will get to that. Let you know what the latest
market movement for these two games that remained a f
C championship, NFC championship. We'll get you caught up with there. Also,

UH some news regarding uh the NFL as far as
possible coaching changes and hires and possible offseason act physicians. Uh.
It continues to roll on, as does Major League Baseball,
continuing to dominate headlines here over the last week. And

it's amazing because we don't often here about Major League
Baseball until we get to February when pitchers and catchers
are getting ready, of course, to report. But you can
throw all that out the window. Is major League Baseball
has dominated the headlines and uh and in fantastic fashion.

And we're not talking about big signings or blockbuster trades
or anything along those lines. No, we are talking scandal.
We are talking drama, scandal, and nothing, and I mean
absolutely nothing sells better in this country then scandal and
drama and reality TV and it's it is front and

center cheating scandal. Ha man, this has been an amazing
week and really a tough week for two cities. Number
one Houston. Who And if i'm Bill O'Brien right now,
I am thank you very much. I know he is
thanking the baseball gods for bringing the hammer down on

the Houston Astros, because that pretty much takes the headlines
away from how n f he is is not only
a coach but also as a general manager of the
Houston Texans and that absolute throwop job over the weekend,
blowing a twenty four to nothing lead in a divisional
matchup game on the road in Kansas City is just

as horrific as it gets. But Nope, nobody's talking about
that in Houston. Why, you can thank Alex Cara and
you can thank the entire Houston Astros organization for taking
the focus off of the crap that Bill O'Brien continues
to put out on the field, patting himself on the
back for offensive line moves and trades that he made

this year, when in fact, his offensive line ranks pretty
much in the bottom five of just about every statistical
category that meant anything. But don't let the fact get anyway.
How about that Alex Cora, Yes, Alex Cora, which brings
me to the second city, who is also not having
a good week. Hasn't been a good couple of weeks, Boston,

That is right, the Red Sox faithful now who also
nine times out of its end are the Patriot faithful.
And let's they've had to go through watching Derrick Henry
run over Tom Brady and company. We uh, we have
had story after story of the Brady era. Everything's over
in New England. That the Patriot dynasty is done, stick

a fork in it. Uh. Then, of course they've got
to deal with the fact that last night, as a
double digit favorite at home, the Boston Celtics got bulldozed
by the low Detroit Pistons. Yes, good nights. Yes. And
then the Red Sox had to announce in the last
for the eight hours that they were no longer going

to be managed by one Alex Cora that they found
it best if he just stepped away from from the
team because of all the things that are going And then,
and you know, my all time favorite is that the
Red Sox held a press conference yesterday, ownership, management, the hierarchy,
the the who's who in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Yesterday called a press conference for what reason. I have
absolutely no idea, But they did let us know that
in fact, and they lined up and the pictures are great. Um,
they did line up and let us know in fact,
including principal owner John Henry, gave a statement about them
(05:56):
the mutual of departing of the ways with Alex Cora.
And then when they were given any sort of question
about the bigger story, you know about, Hey, you know,
what's so, what's true, what's not? What's what cheating? Did
you do a Apple watch? What's going on? I what
have you heard anything that had any substance to it?

The answer was, and I quote, we can't comment on
an ongoing investigation. And that's pretty much what we got
the entire press conference. So I am not exactly sure
why or what the next necessity was to roll out
for uh four dudes. They're out on a platform there
(06:36):
to tell us that what we already knew, which of
course was that uh, you know he they were going
to be looking for a new manager. And then when
we needed some meat and potatoes there. They gave us nothing.
They gave us absolutely nothing. They gave us Brussels sprouts there. Yesterday.
Just awful press conference made absolutely no sense. Is the
way to do it. You could have just released a
statement instead of wasting everybody's time. But the truth is

that is coming down and the rumors and the things
that are being leaked right now regarding the punishment for
the Boston Red Sox, it's not pretty, guys, it is
not pretty at all. So alex Cora gone, Patriots, dynasty over,
Celtics aren't going anywhere out of the East, and the

Boston Bruins continue to be above average. But does anybody
really care about the NHL? So that means that entire
city they won't be booking any parades anytime soon. So
it is going up in flames and much the same
as happening in Houston right now as the Rockets. Oh

they lost last night as a double digit favorite as
well to the Portland trail plays. Yeah, Houston Text, Houston Astros,
Houston rock to cities in flames. We'll go over the

They're expecting it. And you know it's big when you

up at an hour long press conference and they answer
zero questions. Uh, you know something big is coming. And
also a report yesterday when when the report came out
that I guess there was a conference call Rob Manford

and the rest of Major League, the baseball ownership groups
all at a conference call, and I guess it was
made abundantly clear on that conference call from Rob Manfred
that um, keep your thoughts to yourself with what you
are about to hear. Was as far as punishment or
anything else along nose lines, I guess that point was
(10:46):
stressed home that yeah, there is no need to comment
on on anything at this particular point, and the Dodgers,
of course tweeted that out there whoever runs the social
media department had made that comment that you know, we
were told to not comment on the matter, and I
can say this. The other thought was that Rob Manford
(11:09):
also made it abundantly clear without saying it, that if
you did not keep your thoughts to yourself, that what
happened to the astros um would uh would would let's say,
be a hell of a lot worse than dealing with
loss of draft picks and money. So the bottom line
(11:31):
is I would not anticipate a whole lot of Major
League Baseball team saying boo about this. The it does,
of course, remain to be seen what is going to
happen with the New York Mets, because the New York
media very hard for them to let it, let this go.
Carlos Beltran being mentioned in that report. So what happens
with Carlos Beltran hired as the Mets manager? How can
(11:54):
the Mets justify firing a guy that they hired because
of what he did as a player, but yet Major
League Baseball didn't find what he did agregious enough to
hand out any punishment tone, So why would you fire
a guy for something he did years ago as a
(12:16):
player and Major League Baseball is not coming down on
So major League Baseball is not coming down and why
would you because the media wants you to, because the
optics aren't. And that's really the argument now is what
why can you have a guy manage your team whose
integrity is questioned? And that really comes down to it.

But again it's a slippery slow You got a guy
that did who hasn't been hasn't been punished for doing anything.
Everybody else Guys have lost their job, Guys are getting banned,
Guys are getting suspended. Not Karl's Beltrand. He was implicated,
but yet major League Baseball is not punishing the only

player that they named in that report. So the Mets
are stuck between a rock and a hard place, mostly
because if the Mets were to, let's say, walk away
from Carlos Beltran, while they don't really have cause to
do it, so that means they're gonna have to pay
Carlos Beltran, whether he coaches or he doesn't. At this
(13:19):
particular point, they also are already paying Mickey Callaway since
they got rid of him. While he was still under contract,
which means they'd have to hire a third coach, which
means the only the New York Mets could actually be
paying three head coaches three managers at the same damn time,
(13:40):
which is really what is at stake here. And if
you guys have been following the Wilpons, yeah, um, not exactly,
not exactly, shall we say splurging. Will the Wilpons be
and I doubt very much it's gonna be very interested
to see what they do. Will they fire them, owing
(14:00):
to have to hire somebody else and continue to pay
not one, not to but three people to manage the
New York Mets this year, So a lot to be decided,
total craziness including let us not forget guys, pictures and
catchers just around the corner. But has anybody bothered to
look at the futures market four Major League Baseball yet,
(14:24):
Because if you are the savvy type of sports investor,
then you might very well be able to see some
value on the board here, along with some wind total
opportunities and of course odds to win the division. If
you look at the board here and maybe you start
diving into this a little bit, A unprecedented scandal like
(14:47):
this at this point in the season might very well
orfer you the opportunity to be able to jump in
and get some teams at prices that I don't know
today before they announce what's gonna happen with the Red
Sox the Mets, the trickle down effect from that, if
you're navigating the markets here, guys, there might very well
(15:08):
be some opportunities. For instance, if you take a look
at the current T twenty World Series odds and you see,
of course the Yankees at three to one at the top,
Dodgers five and a half to one, Astro still listed
six and a half to one guys to win the
World Series. The Braves are eleven and a half to one,

Twins sixteen to one, Phillies eighteen to one, and then

was some upsets last night. Guys in the NBA, we'll

start out west. How about them Lakers? Huh? We got

don't get broke his ass. A couple of weeks so
ago there fell down and usually when dudes who are
over seven foot fall football fall down, it's it's a
long way to go. So but he wasn't hurt enough

to head over to the Packer game over the weekend,
which was important. So he's okay. But he wasn't okay
to play last night. And I'd like to say that
the Lakers they didn't need him. You're only taking on
the Orlando Magic, but I'd be lying because the Magic
beat the Lakers last night one nineteen to one eighteen.

And the Magic did it as a ten and a
half point road underdog last night. Churching here people. They
were also plus four fifty on the money line, and
if you took the Magic on the money line, then yeah,
good for you. Uh. The NBA favorite though last night
all in all five four and one on the night

there was a push with Dallas. Uh, depending on when
you got in it closed that Dallas laying four on
the road in Sacramento. Who is just they can't they
can't seem to win a game with Luke Walton and
company there. But if you were good enough to get
it at four and a half, then that's a winner.
Congratulations there, they were only able to beat Sacramento there

by by four points. There were three total upsets, though
we told you about Orlando beating the Lakers, which nobody saw.
By the way, the over in that game. The total
for the Lakers was in that game was to ten,
and they clearly went over there by scoring almost two points.

Blake Griffin and just a whole bunch of rag tag
bunch of dudes along with uh Andre Drummond, which is
really all they have. Not a good road team at
all traveling to the Boston Garden take on the Celtics.
Now the Celtics UH nine and a half ten point
favorite at home in this one, and it was great

because it certainly started off like you thought this was
going to be a easy win for Boston, but it
was anything but. As the Detroit Pistons win that game, guys,
and take it. Beat them actually rather easily too as
a as a ten point dog. They were plus three
seventy five on the money line as well, and they

took down the Boston Celtics, who I don't want to
say it, guys, but it was kind of a one
sixteen to one oh three is what they lost. It
was a bit of a look ahead spot as the
Celtics are playing tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. That's right,
they got a game tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. So

it was a bit of a look ahead spot there,
and they were caught looking because they lost one sixteen
to one thirteen there. And Gordon Hayward drops seven boards,
had an assist on the night, but it was not uh,
it was not getting a job done. And uh, that
was just chalking up to yet another another one of

those congratulations you uh, you lost Boston and you continue
to lose. You lost your Red Sox manager and now
you're probably gonna lose draft picks and a whole lot

They are playing hard for Billy Donovan and they have

get pal back and endfully they're slowly but surely the
Toronto Raptors are getting back. And uh, they looked back
last night, that's for sure, as Toronto took down the
Oklahoma City Thunder in that game last night, one thirty two,

all over the place. They missed his athleticism and the
depth continues to show there. But that was a lot
of points. Two and fifty one points in a game

So a lot of points scored in that game last night.

winning ticklet. And how about then Portland Trailblazers and Carmelo

eleven boards, twelve assists. What a shock? Uh, And boy,
wasn't a good night for James Harden who was three
or twelve there, guys, Uh, I only had thirteen points
and it's it's so unlike him to miss that many
shots but did not get to the free throw line.

Not a good night for Hardened Westbrook. He was the man,
but it wasn't enough. One seventeen and one oh seven.

what you have missed thus far is nuts. Absolutely craziness
is what's been going on. And again last night we
had some we had some top teams fall and it
seems every time that a blue blood takes control, wins

a couple of games, gets in the top ten, top fifteen,
they get blown out by somebody, and uh last night
in the top twenty five, number eighteen, Seaton Hall on
the road taking on number five Butler the mid major
Darling And would the Butler Bulldogs be able to hold
serve there and take down a Seaton Hall team that

has been just on fire here? Um, while, I mean,
let's face it, they have quite possibly I think one
of the uh one of the best players in the
nine a matter of fact, I know they've got one
of the best players in the country uh In on
their team. And when it was all said and done
last night, yeah, it was it was kind of a

bit of a beat down there, as Butler came out
with a commanding lead going into the going into the
second half, and that got evaporated rather quickly. A Seaton
Hall upsets Butler seventy eight to seventy. They were a
four and a half point road underdog. They were plus
one seventy on the money line. Keep an eye on
this Seaton Hall team, guy, is they are no joke

when I tell you, absolutely no joke. This is a
team that, yes, you are definitely going to want to
keep an eye on because they have put it together
here over the last month. And like we have been
telling you, this is the kind this is the time
of year when you start to learn a little bit,
so the cream starts to rise to the top in
college hoops, and uh, it's starting to rise there with

this team from Seaton Hall who is absolutely getting the
John job done. Miles Powell, Guys, remember that name, Miles
Pale point seven boards, two assists. The kid is an
absolute beast. He's gonna be a top five draft pick
this year. Uh, he is the real deal. They were
down ten at half, they outscore Butler thirty and the

have issues on the road and they were beat in
the most unbelievable fashion with about one second I believe,
uh left on the clock. I'm trying to let me

it really was that good. What about one second left
on the Kentucky had dominated this game for all all

of the first half, three quarters of the second half,
and then South Carolina went on a little run there
at the end to get this within I believe one,
or within within two. Actually they tied it up two,
which was just amazing. As Kentucky continues to just fall
apart at the worst points in the season, they can't win.

They were up ended by a non ranked team earlier
this year at the Roup Arena there in Kentucky, which
almost never happens. Uh. They lost at home. They continue
not to be able to win on the road, and
this is just another shining example of why it is
in college hoops. These days, guys. This year is absolutely

bonkers when you consider how many teams go on two
or three game winning streaks and then all of a
sudden they are they lose, and lose to unranked teams
in the most unbelievable ways to do it, and it
just it continues to happen time and time again. So
here was on the road Kentucky last night with the

game tied. That's right, the game was tied at this
particular point, I believe seventy seventy six. So uh, you
have South Carolina inbounding all the way under their basket,
across the uh, across the floor with an opportunity with
just a couple of seconds left to get it done,

see here, seventies six, seventy six. This is what it
sounded like as they really trying to get it beat
step back out, a lot of time, plenty of time

in South Carolina as Kentucky drops there last night, guys,

six point home dog South Carolina and Kentucky blew a
five point lead there and under a minute to go,

remained undefeated. One of them is in San Diego. San

guys to the NBA, three starters to the NBA, and
they were a very upper classman team. They didn't bring

back a whole lot of a whole lot of people
from last year's team, a whole lot of kids. So
this is a relatively young team that doesn't shoot the
three well. However, the scheduling has allowed them to be
defeated to this particular point. So they go into Alabama
on the road, their arch nemesis, Alabama, and Alabama this

was a pick um game, guys, and you know what
we actually went off as a one and a half
point to home underdog is what Alabama went out as
a lot of late money came in on Auburn and
Auburn got smoked. Number four team in the country. Auburn
got smoked by Alabama eighty three to sixty four plus
one oh five on the money line for Alabama. Another

great opportunity for you to be able to profit last night.
And finally, how about Temple Temple beating Wichita State number sixteen.
Wichita State had been rolling over teams but found themselves
on a road in Temple in Philly in a really
tough environment at its showed they lost sixty five to
fifty three Temple four and a half point home dog

covers plus one sixty five on the money line, getting
the job done. And finally there was one top twenty
five team that did cover. And this top team, I
have no doubt will be a number one seed. That's
how good this team has been this year. There are
a couple of teams that just seemed to be heads

and tails above everybody else. They're not getting any love,
but they are the number two team in the country
and they showed why they're the number two team in
the country last night. Baylor number two, Baylor laying nine
last night covered and there win at home against Iowa State.
And the thought here was that Baylor was in a
letdown spot because they had just beaten Kansas on the

road for the first time in a million years at
the Allen Field House. Uh, and they did it quite convincingly.
Maybe this would have been a letdown spot here against
an Iowa State team who is quite honestly just not good.
But they were laying nine and if you laid it,
congratulations because they covered it fifty five. And that win

versus Iowa State at home. Whof college hoops crazy? This?
Oh yeah, by the way, Uh, let's see one to

versus San Antonio. That is correct, guys, he is finally
going to hit the court here. David Griffin, general manager
there of the Pelicans says that Yep, he is coming back.
It'll be January. They'll be taking on the Spurs. I

am sure that once he says, they were waiting just
for the final Okay, but that's the plan at this point.
I'm sure he's gonna be on a severe minutes restriction,
shall we say, when he gets out there. But Pelicans fans, finally,
season ticket holders, finally will have an opportunity to take

a look at what is supposed to be their future,
the guy that's going to replace the unibrow, the future
of the New Orleans Pelicans Zion playing next week January twenty.
So I noticed a lot of guys excited finally to
see what he brings to the table and what else
is he gonna bring to the table. And in the NBA, well,

keep an eye. We've got Lakers losing. You've got a
whole lot of opportunities once again, even tonight, maybe to
do a little dominating here, take advantage of some of
these soft numbers. Again, we told you to Celtics last
night losing at home, Why well they gotta back to

take on the Bucks. Uh and the Bucks are laying

eight and a half at home taking on a Celtics team.
Not a good match up here for the Celtics at all,
Maybe a little tired legs. Uh, Celtics have not been
good over the last couple of weeks here, it's been
a rough go of it. Uh. You also have the
Knicks in action tonight, guys at home and the Knicks,
believe it or not, eleven wins on the season, eleven
and thirty taken on the lowly Phoenix Suns. Julius Randall

looks like he is going here. They're getting three and
a half points. The NIXT tonight total is twenty five.
Might be worth the look. See there's the Phoenix Suns
are on a big East Coast road trip. It has
not been going well for them. Uh. Those Pelicans we
just mentioned at home taking on the hottest team in
the NBA right now, the Utah Jazz and twelve winners
of thirteen straight. They are just dominating the Clippers back

in action at the Staples Center. And just like the
poor Cleveland Cavaliers, UH, this week had a back to
back they had to stay at the Staples Center. They
took on the the Lakers. First they got they got
blown out. Then they had to stay and take the
Clippers on the following night, got blown out. Well, the
same thing here, only this time the magic. They beat

the Lakers last night. Now they gotta can they continue?
They've got to take on the Clippers here tonight, Clippers
laying eleven and a half in this game. And then
the Denver Nuggets will travel to Golden State to take
on a Warrior's team in which they just beat in Denver.
Now they get to go back kind of a home

and home set here. Now they get to go to
Golden State take on the nine win Golden State team,
Golden State getting seven and a half. D'Angel Russell looks
like he is in fact playing in that game. So
abbreviated card. But plenty of opportunities on the board here
tonight for you guys to dive in, shall we say,

especially this time of year, teams, the Carrier Dome is

to be able to figure and adjust. They usually can
adjust to a two three zone that Beheim has been
running forever. They don't see it any place else. It's
not an easy thing to adjust to. Plus the Carrier

the first half. They'll figure it out in the second half,
which they did Boston College. By the way, the score
in the second half Buston College thirty seven, Syracuse thirty eight.
Syracuse wins seventy six fifty, thus going under a full

have the Mets at ten and a half to one
if you want to go that route. So I can
tell you the Astros win total this year from in
a couple of different sports books in the country. Here
is what I am seeing. There is a wind total
posted right now for the Houston Astros at nine seven games. Yep.

That trails only two other teams who have monster win
totals as well. Number one the Yankees and are one.
The Dodgers have ninety nine and the Houston Astros have
So I can tell you the markets have not adjusted
necessarily just yet. And having talked to a couple of
the a couple of the sports books managers across the

country here, it doesn't look like they have adjusted just
yet because they're not overreacting, is what I was told. That, Uh,
it's kind of a weight and c mode right now.
The numbers that they have up we're based upon obviously
the current rosters in the way they think it's, uh,
it's gonna roll out, so they really, um, it's still

a really good roster, is what I was being told.
And that the fact that there's chaos in January, they
don't necessarily think that, uh, that's going to translate. If
something happens, they might adjust, but at this point is
the number for the Houston Astros. Now, if you think
it's going to get worse for them. And if you
think this is going to be extremely difficult to be
(48:38):
able to overcome, Yeah, there's an opportunity guys, for you
to be able to get and fade a couple of
teams on the board here this year based upon the
information that you are seeing coming out over the first
over the last couple of weeks. So dive in, start
taking a look. It might be worth putting a couple
of bucks down Baden, maybe a couple of these teams

backing a few other teams that might benefit from the
