(00:22):
Wake up, the morning line line up. All right, people,
here we go. It is now a Thursday. We are
that much closer well to Friday. But but that's not
where I was going. I was going with the Super Bowl.

(00:45):
That's correct. We are that much closer to Sunday, the
Big Game, the Super Bowl just just a little bit
down the road for me here in Miami, but you
never know it because it will take you about three
hours to get there since the whole damn town is
pretty much shut down here as Kansas City Chiefs uh
their their fan base, along with the San Francisco forty

(01:07):
Niners their fan base, media from all around the world,
as well as the NFL all taking over the city
of Miami from South Beach all the way through Fort
Laurida Dale. It is absolute craziness. Down here in South
Florida for the for the big Game, and we all hope,
I mean, the best thing that we can hope for

(01:27):
is that it's going to be a game that lives
up to the hype. And that's what we do every
Super Bowl run around. Now we start diving into these
prop bets and we've got over six hundred of them
to choose from this year. We have a ton of
opportunities and places tibet now in this country legally that

(01:49):
we didn't have options before. Twenty states have already legalized that.
Twenty states have sports books bricks and mortar, and and
they've got their The books are open, whether it be
on mobile or you can walk through, walk up to
the window and place your bet. It is going to
be the single biggest bet game in the history of sports.

(02:12):
And we gave you the numbers yesterday as they came in.
Seven billion is what that number is, guys. Seven billion
dollars anticipated to be bets on Sunday, both by the way,
legally and illegally. So if it's you're still going to
the Uncle Noonsio, the butcher there in the back room
place in the bets, congratulations. Either way you are gonna

(02:36):
be betting something, whether it be an office pool or
with your buddies or something along those lines. It's gonna happen,
and UH, it's gonna happen to the tune of around
seven billion dollars in this country. It is crazy to
think how many people, but they are anticipating a little
over ten percent of the United States population. That is right,

(02:58):
ten percent of the United States popul lation will have
some action on this game on Sunday. That's how that's
how crazy it is. And then oh yeah, between now
and Sunday, we've got a boatload of college basketball, including
fifty six games tonight to UH to tackle. You have
over a hundred and forty five games on Saturday in

(03:21):
college hoops leading up into the big day. UH. Mix
in a little a little NBA along the way, and
the NHL back in full swing. And don't get me started,
but we are now less than two weeks away from
pictures and catchers reporting to spring training also down the
road here from us in Miami. So this month, as

(03:43):
we get ready to say goodbye to UH month number one,
January of February is on its way, and with it
is total excitement because the final month of college hoops
as we get ready for the madness which will be
in March, the final push there to try and make
the tournament. You've got a real big push. You've got

(04:04):
the All Star Game coming up for for the NBA,
followed by not a whole heck of a lot of
time after the All Star break before we start really
diving into the possibility of playoffs. Who's going to be
the top eight teams and eats division in the n
b A. The Stanley Cup Playoffs two will will be
right around there. Spring training baseball. It's a fun, fun

(04:27):
time of year. It's a hectic, crazy time of year,
but it is a fun time of year. And do
not forget to The PGA Tour is in full swing.
We've got the Phoenix Open getting ready to tee off
in Arizona a little bit later here this morning. So
we certainly have some some picks and some plays as
we took down a forty five to one winner last

(04:48):
week and Mark Leishman winning at Tory Pines there and
the Farmers Open and one that's you want to talk
about making golf real interesting on a Sunday, have a
guy in contention that you're holding a ticket, that's one,
and tell me yours ain't in front of the TV
glued to it looking going all right, I hate golf,
but you know one says I love golf here for

(05:10):
the next couple of hours and yeah, yeah, all the
big boys too, gonna be playing in at John rom
of course the odds on favorite seven o one as
he gets ready to do off this morning. Arizona State
is where he went to school, very familiar with the
golf course. So uh, A lot going on. Plus, we
got headlines to get to from yesterday, including a um,

(05:33):
kind of a peek into what the NFL is gonna
do with Miles Garrett that kind of leaked out. We'll
get to that story coming up here this morning. We also,
I want to say congratulations to Dusty Baker back in
the managerial slot there for the for the cheat and
Astro Houston Astros rather uh and speaking of the Astros,

(05:55):
Mattress Mac is back. That is correct. And I'm at
a very cureous place with Mattress Mac because while we
continue to hear of millions of dollars that this guy
is is throwing around sports books in the country and
placing a really significant wages wagers rather around on certain teams.

(06:18):
I can't remember the last time he's actually won a bet.
So the big question is do we or don't we
fade his ass with his play here? Because another million
dollar bet was placed by mattress Mac last night on
a team in the Super Bowl, and last face it,
last time we heard about him. It was an awful

(06:40):
lot of money being thrown around for the Astros. Yeah,
that didn't work out all that well, did it? Yes?
And then of course an awful lot of money being
thrown around Umkin for the Texans didn't work out all
that well. They're either so or the Tennessee Titans. Rather,
he backed used to be to Houston Oilers, but it's

(07:01):
the Tennessee Titans now. Uh. He threw an awful lot
of money there. That didn't work out so well for
him either. So now he has his sights set on
one of these teams, and uh, I am this close.
They're just fading him on for that reason only is
that just because you have the money? I mean, you

(07:22):
know what the hell you're betting on. So I'm sure
there's some sort of promotion tied into why he is
betting this outside of the fact of us reporting to
you that he's betting a million dollars. But we'll get
the details of all of that. We'll get that to
you coming up. And if I am not mistaken, the
return last night of one Victor Oladipo to the courts,

(07:44):
that's correct, UH, possible m VP candidate last year, horrific
leg injury for the Pacers. He made his debut and
it could not have gone any Mamba style better than
it went last night for vict Oladipo. Will let you
hear it. We'll do that coming fears he gets ready
for Thursday. Sports dot Com Sports grid dot Com betting

(08:39):
welcome back in there. It is the grid sports grid

stopping by making us a part of your day here
on the morning line. We'll get you got up with
everything that happened overnight in the world of sports and
uh of course, take a look ahead at the at
a monster day in UH in six NBA games, sixty

(09:02):
two college basketball games. As I did a quick recount
there and I misspoke, sixty two of those college basketball
games going to take center stage here tonight along with
three NHL games. Plus we have an update on the
market for the Super Bowl, and UH pointing you in
the right direction here, not one, not two, but of

(09:22):
those sixty two college basketball games, early morning line movement
on three of them, UH seemed to be getting the
most attention from the pros. And I say the pros
because I'm fairly certain that the public is not up
here at this ungodly hour in the morning going. You
know what would be great is if I if I

(09:43):
threw a few bucks down on the on the Gonzaga
game here A little bit, No not happening. So we'll
tell you which three games those are and why they're
moving in the direction they are. But first, of course, UM,
Kobe Bryant continues to be on many people's minds as
we continue to move along, still not seem as as

(10:04):
much as it Everyone is trying to get back to
a normal. UH that everybody's normal is a little bit different. Uh,
the NBA has continued to try to do their best, um,
to put their best foot forward, and to try and
um honor Kobe and the in the best way that
they know how, of course, by by playing basketball giving

(10:26):
people an opportunity to take their minds off of the
sadness and the grief of all the lives lost in
that helicopter crash on Sunday. And we finally last night
got a the first public remarks from Vanessa Bryant, there
Kobe's wife, and on a Instagram post um that made

(10:48):
the rounds last night. She did, in fact um post
this to her account, thanking um, thanking the millions of
people who have supported and uh and love them and
showed them everything really over the last couple of days
in a horrific time, and she talked about, UM, you
know how it's it's not it's not the it's not easy,

(11:11):
it's not it's just terrible for them. But at the
same time, knowing that all of us, all the fans
around the country, UH, the support that the that the
kids and Natalia Bianca Capri um, the support that they
are getting along and uh, you know, the bond that
they have now unfortunately with the other families that also

(11:32):
are grieving. Uh, it was very touching and it finally
gave us a um a peek into what is what
is going through poor Vanessa's mind along with the other kids.
So it was nice and UM, you know, they're gonna
try to push forward. She said, it's all we can do.
And uh. We also heard a little bit from the

(11:53):
Lakers yesterday that posted something talking about the grieving process
and how they'll never be the same and that they
do anticipate at some particular point in the very near future. Um,
they're working too figure at exactly what's going to happen
from a memorial standpoint. H As far as the investigation goes,
it looks like the NTSB continuing to gather information and

(12:17):
uh continuing to gather evidence throughout that debris field on
the side of the mountain. Again, they don't anticipate having
any real answers as to why or how it happened
until at least a couple of months at the earliest,
So we'll we'll see. But continuing to be whether is
what the focus of many people is and many, uh,

(12:39):
many of these stories that are coming out, many some
of the eyewitnesses accounts, and of course so working with
the National Weather Service, the conditions appear to have been
just unbelievable at the time of the crash, where they
really couldn't see um two feet in front of them.
So that information still is being gathered by the NTSP,

(13:01):
so we will certainly be able to bring that to you,
and I'm sure it'll get leaked at some point, because
just about everything does in this day and age, so
we'll have a better idea. None of it. It matters,
quite honestly at this particular point, as all of the
families involved are getting prepared to uh say goodbye and
to um eulogy. Uh. Eulogies will be happening all week long,

(13:26):
as some of the first funeral arrangements we understand will
be coming down today, So we'll have an idea and
exactly how the Lakers are going and planning on are
they going to use the Staples Center as a memorial
uh and uh and celebrate Kobe's life. It really does
seem that that was a lot of the words even
Vanessa yesterday and in that post on Instagram talking about

(13:48):
celebrating both Gianna and Kobe's life along with the the
other victims. So it's gonna be a it's a tough
road ahead, that is for sure for all the families
and all the folks in but they they're glad they
have basketball, everybody in order to just for a brief
moment be able to take their minds off. Because we

(14:09):
welcomed on the court yesterday some folks that we haven't
seen in a long time. Kyrie Irving has not taken
the court since last week, since the tragic UH the
tragic accident, and Kobe was on the court last night
for the Brooklyn Nets. Dear friend of both Um Kobe
Bryant and Vanessa and along with Gianna, he was a
big part of the basketball tourno Domamba Basketball Association and

(14:33):
group of Kobe's. They're very active with the kids, worked
out with them all throughout the summer, very close with
Kobe Bryant. He finally spoke last night after the Brooklyn
Nets took down the Detroit Pistons. UH. He got real
emotional in his postgame interview, the first interview that he
has done um since the since the accident. Since Sunday.

(14:55):
Also in the NBA, we welcomed back a one of
the really good guys. Another another guy that grew up
wanting to be Uh Kobe Bryant, loving Kobe Bryant, idolizing
Kobe Bryant. Victor Oladipot made it back to the court
yesterday and it was it was so good to see him.
This is truly one of the good guys in the

(15:17):
in the NBA who suffered a just a terrible leg
injury last year. Many people didn't know if he'd ever
play again, but he finally works back. It's been a
little over a year and a half, in fact, since
the accident happened on the court where he just uh,
legs aren't supposed to go in that direction, and there
it was touch and go. There was talk of amputation

(15:40):
when it first happened to it was not good. And
it was so nice to be able to see him
on the sideline in uniform and for the very first time.
He didn't start, but he did get out on the
court and it was It didn't take him long to
have his presence felt. In fact, Uh, it was his
late three point shot that tied the game up against

(16:02):
the Bulls last night in Indiana and allowed them to
go to overtime and win. The game one to one
oh six, but having Oladipo on the court nine points,
two boards, four assists, played twenty minutes coming off the bench,
and yes, it was that game time three pointer with
ten seconds left that allowed them to get into overtime

(16:24):
and eventually go on to to win the game. And
awesome stuff because last time we saw him was over
a year ago, and he just he's been fighting and
he called the most painful thing he's ever had in
his entire life. Excruciating pain, excruciating rehab coming back there
from that knee injury. But he delivered, and he delivered

(16:47):
on a very emotional night too. He also broke down
after the game. Uh and when talking about Kobe, tiered
up thanking everybody for his the rehab and everyone that
stood by him also throughout the year. But Kobe was
certainly on his mind, and we hear now that he
is going to be limited to no more than twenty

(17:07):
four minutes of game here at least for the next stretch.
But the Indiana Pacers are a very real team in
the Eastern Conference in the NBA, and as we've passed
a halfway point, they are going to be one of
the top four seeds in all likelihood and with Victor
Oladipo in and if they can stay somewhat healthy there
for the UH for the remainder of the season with UH,

(17:31):
that is a potent lineup, guys, with Warren Brogden, Sabonus,
you throw in Victor Oladipot and this is a very
dangerous Indiana Pacers team. But it was great to be
able to see him out on the court last night.
And UH they a big run at the end of
the game allowed them to be able to eventually get
that into overtime and go and win the game. And

(17:54):
along with that last night, there were a couple of
couple of upsets. In fact, they it's though we're four
and two straight up and against the number, the Pacers
were one of those favorites eight and a half. They
did go on to win. Did they cover how about
the next did they cover the Grizzlies at the Knicks
fist the cuffs, shower problems. We'll get you all the

(18:16):
caught up with what happened last night in the association.

(21:14):
good things about the Super Bowl time is that what
one day during the week leading up to the game,
we get to pepper Roger Goodell with questions. The media
members from around the world get to enter into a
room and just get the hammer. Roger Goodell with with
a whole lot of questions that most of us have

(21:36):
been waiting a very long time to ask. Most of us,
of course, wanting to know what's going on with certain guys,
certain players, certain thing. Rooney rule was one of the
questions again asked yesterday about uh what are you doing
about it? What's going on? Again? When you look at
the coaching hires in the uh so far in the

(21:59):
last cup full of weeks and the months in the process,
a lot of people still looking at that going you know,
where are the minority head coaches? Where are these hires?
What's happening here? Uh? So, Roger Goodell has got to
face the music for at least an hour or so
every Super Bowl week and he had to do it
yesterday and one of the stories that came up, and

(22:20):
one of the things they asked had to do with
Myles Garrett and what is going to happen to Miles Garrett.
So Roger Goodell gets up, he does the whole State
of the League address from the from the Convention Center
yesterday on Radio Row, and he did touch base not
only on Myles Garrett, but he did also touch base

(22:42):
on Antonio Brown and what the latest with him is.
But he opened up saying that Miles Garrett, who we
all remember, suspended indefinitely for his role in swinging a
helmet and hitting Mason Rudolph of the Pittsburgh Steelers on
the top of the head there and at game I
think it was a Thursday night, um, And he opened

(23:05):
up with that that happened back on November fourteen. Think
about that, guys, November fourteenth, It seems like it was yesterday. Now.
He didn't go as far as saying that Garrett's reinstatement
is imminent, but he did say that it looks like
it will all be wrapped up here within the next
month and a half to two months, So within the
next couple of months, I would anticipate by March, once

(23:29):
the new and that's I believe when free agency can
start it once that new NFL year kicks in in March. Uh,
it sounded like that's exactly when they'll go ahead and
reinstate that that indefinite suspension will be lifted. Myles Garrett
will be back in the NFL, will be back on

(23:49):
the Cleveland Browns, and will likely, of course, I think
it will coincide with his ability to be able to
report too offseason workouts and programs with the team, so
that it sounds like that's, uh, that's exactly what's going
to happen there, and at this particular point he might
be facing if another incident happens, and he is known

(24:12):
as a guy that I guess pushes the envelope. Sometimes
we know another guy like that, Vontes Perfect that unfortunately,
whether he means it or not, it's just the way
he plays the game. He has been known as a
dirty player, and now that you have this incident on
your record, it's gonna be very hard to justify even
the smallest or of penalties or you know, personal fouls

(24:36):
moving forward. So it's definitely gonna be interesting to see
what happens there as far as the Antonio Brown investigation.
Goodell says the most important point is the thing they're
worried about the most, and of course, in very Roger
Goodell fashion, says that we want to make sure his
personal well being is okay as opposed to their priority

(24:58):
isn't his football career, but more that Antonio Brown himself
is getting the help that he needs and getting him
back on track. Uh. And he says that that's what
they want to do. That's there, that's their goal, first
and foremost is to make sure that he is okay
and that they can get him back on track, and
if it means re entering the NFL, great, But first

(25:21):
and foremost to make sure that Antonio Brown is okay.
Good luck with that, But at least Roger Goodell did
address those and also said that they will be taking
a very hard and long look at the Rooney rule
again and how to improve it and how to make
it better. So we'll see that. It seems like they
say that each and every year, so we'll see what
happens with that. Now. I did tell you last night

(25:46):
in the NBA we had it was a great night
in the NBA. Victor Oladipo returned, we got to see
Russell Westbrook go against the Portland Trailblazers, this time not
with the Oklahoma's the Thunder, but rather the Houston Rockets.
So James hardened Russell Westbrook, Dame Lillard, C J McCullum, uh,

(26:08):
Carmelo Anthony all on the court last night. And those
of you know that Russell Westbrook and Damian Lille do
not like each other. They chap each other an awful lot.
And you know, Damian Lillard was the one who sent
Russell Westbrook in company home at okay See in the
playoffs last year and rather dramatic fashion. Uh. And the

(26:29):
question was this was the first time that he's had
a chance to see him this year from a Houston
Rockets perspective in Portland's And yeah, it was the Dame
Lillard show again last night. Just Russell Westbrook early in
the game, got some buckets and just kept sharpen and
sharpen and sharpen, and Dame Lillard in uh, in great

(26:53):
fashion the way he usually does it. He doesn't say
an awful lot, but he was. He was firing back
every chance he guy. And ultimately, when it was all
said and done, maybe Westbrook and Harden should take more
days off uh and let Gordon and company win some
games for him, because they got smoked again last night

(27:13):
twelve as Westbrook finished with thirty nine points, ten boards,
six assists in that losing effort, while Damian Lillard thirty
six points, ten boards, eleven assists. Dame Lellard got the
last laugh last night once again, as Russell Westbrook just
can't seem no matter what team he is with to
get past the Portland Trailblazers and Damian Lillard. Big night

(27:36):
for them, Uh, not a great night once again for
the Utah Jazz. And by the way, Portland Trailblazers were
a home dog in that matchup last night. Uh. They
were getting four and a half points at the close,
so there was some money to be made. They were
one of two dogs that that took down some money

(27:56):
last night for those that backed him on the on
the Maybia Poible money line play last night for you,
you did have favorites go four and two straight up
and against the number we told you about the Pacers.
They were eight and a half points favorite over the
Bulls they wanted over time the Brooklyn Nets. Uh, they
were five and a half point favorite versus the Pistons.
They handled their business. The Memphis Grizzlies, and we'll get

(28:20):
to that that debacle last night at Madison Square Garden. Uh,
they were a two and a half point favorite. They
should have been a two hundred and a half point favorite.
Last night. They took down the Knicks rather easily. The
Thunder the okay see thunder on the road in Sacramento. Uh,
big play for for Davis Davis Maddock, our our boy

(28:41):
there and our picks from the edge here on the grid.
That was one of his favorite plays of the night.
They handled their business. Congratulations. Uh, they were a little chalky,
but the Thunder ended up winning rather easily. But the Blazers,
like we told you, getting four and a half plus
one sixty on the money line. Took down the Rockets
and the Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs, remember them. No,

(29:04):
LaMarcus all Dress has a thumb problem, continues to sit out,
and they they didn't have any problem welcoming into Utah Jazz,
who were coming off of that epic beat down by
the Houston Rockets without their two biggest players, Russell Westbrook
and James Harden, getting smoked by them letting a fifty
burger get dropped by by Gordon. Well, what were they

(29:27):
gonna do? That was a couple of nights ago. Were
they gonna be able to bounce back? It was a
good spot for them, No, LaMarcus Aldredge and what happened?
They got smoked again last night. So the Spurs win, uh,
getting six points plus two ten on the money line.
Those were your too big underdog winners last night if
you backed them. Congratulations there we were on the over

(29:50):
in that matchup two one points and it's sailed way over,
uh with the point total going into almost two and fifty.
So a bunch of winning plays there right here on
the grid that you found last last night. If you
were tailing us, make sure you check those out. We've

Is a Thursday. We are that much closer, of course

(31:20):

Super Bowl and everything that comes along with that, which
is absolute craziness, along with the ability to see and watch,
Uh to the two final warrior teams there of the
NFL do battle the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Andy
Reid going up against Shanahan and company of the forty

(31:43):
Niners with Jimmy g Who's going to win the defenses? Uh,
it's been quite the chess match. And right around this
time during the week and every Super Bowl the players
really start to get itchy there. I mean, it's been nice.
They had a week all they got to heal up
a little bit, but ultimately they're tired of answering questions

(32:04):
about the game. They just want to get the helmets on,
the uniforms on, get on that field and and do battle.
So it's going to be a lot of fun. And
we hope that is, if nothing else, a very entertaining game,
close game, but more importantly, very profitable Sunday, And we're
gonna do our best here, uh. Certainly coming up the
next hour, we'll go ahead and get you caught up,

(32:26):
will dive into some of our favorite prop bets H
and let you know exactly the direction that we are going.
And I do have some some numbers and some statistics
regarding UH, certain prop bets that you guys will definitely
be interested in UH in hearing about, because it's all
about the numbers, guys, And we say it all the
time even with prop bets. UH, it's all about betting

(32:49):
numbers and ain't betting teams or players or anything else.
And the more information that you have, the better off
that you are going to be UH in the long run.
And that is just the reality of the situation. And
there are a number of those prop bets, UM that
may be flying under the radar, but the numbers associated

(33:09):
with them pretty darned profitable. So we'll we'll start banging
those outcoming up next hour. Make it rain. But I
did tell you mattress Mac back at it. That is right,
mattress Mac is back at it dropping dropping half a
million dollar bets all over the place. Uh, it looks
like uh Vegas was his latest book of choice. I

(33:33):
believe if he went to maybe the Mirage dropping to
half a million dollar bets on the San Francisco forty Niners.
That's right, mattress Mac is backing, uh, the forty Niners.
Now this is a guy, the same guy, Jim mattress Mac,
if you remember, got himself an awful lot of promotion

(33:54):
and press, betting millions upon millions of dollars again backing
the Auston Astros. And maybe maybe he knew uh they were,
maybe had a leg up, maybe a sign or two
that they they might have known about maybe, but didn't
really make a difference because he didn't take into consideration
that the Washington Nationals were just a better team. He

(34:14):
lost up millions on that on that game, however, he
did sell millions in furniture after all with the promotion,
so I'm sure he made some money. But he followed
that up a couple of weeks ago by dropping a
couple of very large bets I think into the tune
of just over a million dollars back in the Tennessee
Titans against Kana City Chiefs. If I'm not mistaken, Tennessee

(34:36):
Titans wore the Houston Oilers eventually, not the Euston Texans guys,
the the the Houston Oilers were the Tennessee Titans and
vice versa. There So, uh, that's who he backed in
order to be able to make it to the super Bowl,
and that that did not happen. So his last his
last two major bets of millions of dollars and hasn't

(34:59):
worked out. The question is now, what do you do?
Do you do? You? Are you gonna tell him? Because
believe it or not, there are a number of people
who will hear that story and go, well, if he's
dropping a million dollars, then maybe he knows something. Yeah,
just because people lay a large sums of money on
a on a bet and on a team doesn't really

(35:19):
mean they have any clues to what they're doing. What
It just means is they have more money than they
know what to do with that can afford to drop
fifty thousand, a hundred thousand, five hundred thousand, a million
dollars on bets for games that they yeah, really coin
flip type situations, which is really what this game is
coming up with Kansas City and San Francisco. So he

(35:42):
did fly apparently to Vegas and dropped it. He got
the forty Niners too, half a million dollar bets on
the forty Niners at plus one twenty on the money line.
If he does win, he would net himself a little
over that one point two million dollars with you know, again,
I'm sure this is being tied into and and just

(36:03):
like that mattress mac yep uh the tempera pedic sleep
set of three thousand and more. So you knew it
had something to do with mattresses somewhere along the lines.
But he is running a promotion there and gonna be
giving people credit and a hundred percent back if if
the forty Niners, uh, if they win. So he this
guy is the master at hedging himself and hedging his plays.

(36:27):
And again, I have a million dollars worth of bets
for him gives him five million dollars worth of advertising.
I'm not sure if anybody owns a mattress in Texas,
in Houston for that matter, without without getting it from him. Apparently,
are there any other mattress dealers in there? Because this
guy is a master at getting people to talk about

(36:50):
him and of course utilizing his fame there, and he's
been doing it for a long long time. Apparently his
love of the Houston area teams to go ahead and
get himself a whole lot. I don't know how many
people are buying mattresses during the Super Bowl, but hey,
to each their own. Uh, congratulations. I'm not sure i'd

(37:11):
be telling him though, because his last two, his last
two big bets didn't work out as well as he
thought they might. So that is a that is a
big of a problem. So I might be fading him
just on principle alone. Now, we did say, of course,
tonight big night on the card sixty two college basketball games,
six NBA games, three NHL games. This morning, there are

(37:36):
three games that seem to be getting an awful lot
of love in college hoops and for no other reason, guys,
I can tell you that when a line moves in
college basketball like this early. It's not because Joe Public
and a recreational better is is getting up first thing
or the first thing that they do before they go

(37:57):
to bed last night is dropped a bunch of money
on a game. And so this is usually the time
of the morning and usually the time of the day
where when you start to see a little bit of
line movement. That is because the books who set the line,
they got themselves a number of bets from well respected
better is usually the pros the sharps callum what you want, uh,

(38:21):
And that's that's when they start adjusting the line based
upon what these what these syndicates and pro betters do.
And when we see that kind of line movement, it's interesting.
I'm not saying that there's these are the games you've
gotta bet, But what we're telling you is that these
were the games. The numbers that opened up for these games, um,
they were off, and they were off. And that's how

(38:43):
the books work is that they put lines out, they
keep the limits low, which allows them to be able
to adjust, like overnight at six o'clock in the morning,
when they see what the initial wave of bets are
from the pros and and who's where. So whether be
a total that might have been too high or too
low that gets moved, or a aside a spread, you

(39:06):
can always kind of tell where the where the sharps
were looking and they didn't like the number. So the
three games that got moved here today and this morning
is a big ten, I believe. First Minnesota at Illinois
and another big ten showdown here where Illinois surprisingly fifteen

(39:28):
and five their nineteenth in the country. Minnesota played one
of the top fifteen toughest schedules in the country this year.
They've been great at home, they have struggled on the
road a little bit. Illinois much better record, of course,
when you look at it. They've won six in a row.
They are a short favorite in this one at home

(39:49):
against a unranked Minnesota team. They're also eleven and one
at home, while Minnesota, like I said, struggles on the
road one in six on the road. But even even
look get that knowing they struggle on the road, and
knowing that Illinois has been really good at home. The
line opened with Illinois as a as a five point
home favorite, and somebody's hammering Illinois early on, but all

(40:15):
of a sudden, we started to see that come back
towards Minnesota. So it looks like while initial reaction was
better team, better record at home, Minnesota can't win on
the road minus five while minus five all of a
sudden turned into minus four, which means overnight that the
amount of money that came in it came in rather

(40:39):
quickly on the Minnesota Gophers. So certainly they are providing
some value here in this game as an underdog. And
that's exactly one of the first games that the pros
took a look at. Uh kind of fading maybe an
overvalued Illinois team in this matchup here tonight. So keep
an eye on the Minnesota game heading into heading in today,

(41:01):
and keep an eye on the line as well, see
if there's any more action moving towards Minnesota. The other
game in the Big Ten showdown, how about Iowa. Iowa
taken on Maryland, Iowa fifteen and five, ranked eighteenth in
the country, taken on a Maryland team sixteen and four,
ranked fifteen, and Iowa has got a five game winning

(41:21):
streak rolling right now, and of course that started when
they beat Maryland sixty seven or forty nine on their
home court. What was that last week week and a
half ago. Since then, though, Maryland has won three in
a row. They took down Indiana seventy seven to seventy six.
They were two and a half point road dog. Indiana
had been fantastic at home, losing only one game until

(41:43):
Maryland came in. But again, this is another one too
very highly ranked teams, and you would think that this
is going to be a close game. And you do
have a situation where two thirds of the initial bets
that came in we're backing Iowa. So you've got two
thirds of the bets back in Iowa. Yet the line

(42:04):
hasn't moved. It's frozen at five and a half points here.
Actually it's even it's even gone up to six in
some places. So you've got to ask yourself, well, well,
what's that Iowa was the underdog here or I'd rather Iowa?
Who is? If the if the majority of the bets
are backing Iowa, why isn't the line, Why is the

(42:25):
line moving away from? Why is it for? Why is
it not moving at all? And the reality is that
appears that the pros are are fading this trendy dog
here and big ten home favorites by the way, fifty
against the number this year. Keep that in mind. Big
Ten in that conference, guys favorites at home fifty six

(42:45):
percent of the time they have cashed against the number. UH.
They're also forty one in eight straight up, So Maryland
getting they while the public seems to like the Iowa
team who comes in red hot, but they are the
road team and they seem to be getting a significant
portion of the bets bot Maryland. Oh boy, keep an eye.

(43:10):
The number keeps moving towards Maryland, which means that the pros,
big indicator of the pros are backing Maryland the home team.
And with that record guys forty one and eight straight
up in the Big Ten this year, there is some
value there with with Maryland. UH. And finally the Zags
Gonzaga twenty one and one. They are the number two
team in the country taking on Santa Clara. They are

(43:33):
let's face it, what do you do? Mark Few and
and Zags. There's really nobody in that conference that's going
to challenge them this year. They are going to be
a number one seed come March. They always are. But
this one, the total has been getting pounded here. It
opened up at one eight, and it dropped quickly to
one fifty six. Uh, and it looks like it continues

(43:56):
to go under. So while we're used to seeing the
Zags or a boatload of points, may not happen in
this one. They're seventeen and five to the over. Santa
Clara is twelve and eight to the over. So why
the buy back down? Why go down? If we got
two teams that are profitable to the over? And the
reality is because the line opened up over inflated. It

(44:18):
was way inflated, over valued, and the pros are telling
you that, which is why the under continues to get
hammered here this morning, some value even still the way
I see it. And by the way, the Zags beat
Santa Clara two weeks ago one oh four to fifty four,
So maybe a little overvalueing going on in the zac's game.

(44:41):
Keep an eye on that. We'll tackle some some more
of these games will give you our best make it
rain plays, plus the prop bets you need to have.
We'll do it all coming up next hour. You're on
a grid sportspred dot com, good luck. We'll break down

make it rain. It started at seven and a half.

(45:24):
It's up over thirty now, so people are thinking it
the same way I am, But I believe their adjustment
is out. Will be more Mahomes scrambling because San fran
can get pressure with Boza and Ford with just four
and he's not gonna throw it into all that coverage.
That's why I like the path Mahomes rushing prop week

(45:44):
game seven to nine am Eastern on F and T,
s Y Radio and on the Sports Grade Network HIVERT. Look,
I need your help. Here's what you miss on the
morning line. Let us not forget Sunday. We've got ourselves
a pretty decent football game, final football game of the

(46:05):
year to watch, that being between the Kansas City Chiefs
and the San Francisco forty Niners. As they have descended,
so have the fan bases in fact uh In and
around South Florida really starting to see the contingency of
forty Niner fans starting to show up now, a lot
of forty nine are faithful, a lot of forty Niner

(46:27):
gear starting to pop up in the streets here of Miami,
certainly driving you can people decking out their cars coming in.
And Kansas City has been here their fan base for
a little while as well, So it's really starting to
come together. And of course it is overrun by members
of the media here in South Florida. As that continues,

(46:48):
Radio Row and others continue here as we march along,
getting ready to go Sunday teams. Both teams in fact,
will actually be able to practice today, get back on
the field, and they will they'll have an opportunity to
put the final touches on their game plans and get
ready for kickoff on Super Bowl fifty four Hard Rock Stadium.

(47:12):
Weather so far in the forecast looks like it's going
to be absolutely beautiful, which means that you, me and
the rest of the betting community, we are going to
need to start to uh to start really breaking down
some of these prop bets and our method behind the
madness and how we are going to go about not

(47:33):
only betting the game itself, but how are we going
to correlate our bets, uh, to fit that mold and
to fit that plan. So we do have, of course
some suggestions for you coming up some tips about prop
betting for the big Game. Here the super Bowl will
pass those along to you. Will give you a idea
of some of the some of the smarter play, some

(47:54):
of the some of the history of some of these
prop bets and what passed Super Bowls have have taught
us about this, uh, this Sunday game and how to
go ahead and make sure it is a profitable Sunday.
I mean, listen, while it's great to chip in twenty bucks,
fifty bucks, hunter bucks, whatever it may be for the
Super Bowl boxes at your work, and uh, of course

(48:17):
about any parties that you're doing. While that is all great,
and I would highly suggest you get involved with those
types of things because it always does make it fun
to watch, especially if you haven't followed football very much.
But from a betting perspective, there's a lot of there's
a lot of other bets that will give you a

(48:37):
much better percentage of actually winning and profiting on Sunday
than hopefully the two numbers that you randomly get drawn
out of a hat will end up provide
