Speaker 3 (00:58):
Well? Today we're talking about Nicki Minaj and Ballgate, a
story that gripped not just the nation, but the world
also Britney Spears's wedding maybe upon us any moment. Now
Kim and Kanye are they or aren't they together? Wendy
Williams is very unwell and more the first how are

(01:23):
you well?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Thank you very much? Long weekend? I went to a
Chargers game.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
How is that a long weekend? A long weekend as
in like a busy not like.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
A three day weekend like I had to work, so
it made it gotcha weekend?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Gotcha?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Actually probably made it a short weekend then, now that
I think about it, Yeah, you're probably right. Yeah, nothing
else really to report. I did a cold Play show
last week. That'll be on the seat w in a
couple of weeks. I'll tell you when I don't remember.
Oh that's nice, I'll good in the hood. Where were
you You were in Miami? Right?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
I went to Miami to do something for work and
that was wonderful, but also stress because I found out
about this opportunity a week ago, nine days ago, last Saturday,
and I was asked to do something and I said, sure,
it sounds exciting and I would love to do it.
Then two days later, after I had already rescheduled three

(02:17):
days of my life, and then after our show last Monday,
they said, oh, we need to move filming. Okay, even
though I had already rescheduled, some things couldn't be rescheduled. Whatever. Anyways,
I went. The filming was great and I got to
see my family, which was great as well. And only
family can get away with saying something like this, you

(02:40):
look so good. I'm so happy. You don't look good
when you're skinny.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yah. Yeah, yeah, I mean, the worst backhanded compliment of
all time.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
But she meant it, you know, like that's the thing. Like,
I don't think she was trying to she wasn't trying
to insult me.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
She's like not at all. Yeah, so look good with
a couple of pounds on you, but.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I don't feel good. So today I'm excited for our podcast,
but I literally feel like I'm underwater or something because
I forced myself last night to go to bed at
my normal time, forced myself to wake up at my
normal time, which is five thirty am, well technically five
twenty eight am. I tried to do my workout, not

(03:25):
the best workout. I went on a walk, but I
still feel like so out of sorts because I haven't
woken up this early in a while, and I'm detoxing
from coffee anyways, Excited to do the show, Excited to
have breakfast after this, I have not had breakfast yet,
Excited to enjoy some Magic spoon. You guys can enjoy

and use the code perez to save five dollars. Thank
you Magic Spoon for sponsoring this episode.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
The best part about the Magic Spoon is taking that
stroll down the cereal aisle because you like doing it,
you like seeing all that stuff and you're like, I
can't buy any of this because it's all garbage. But
Magic Spoon isn't. It's like reliving your childhood a box
at a time, a lot of great flavors. So definitely
check out Magic Spoon.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
All right, So this has been quite a week. I
wasn't going to say bizarre, but the very sad situation
and story of that young woman that vanished and it
seems like they've found her now. The remains that appear
to be her were discovered in Wyoming. Gabby Petito is

(05:32):
her name. It really gripped the country and it's been
fascinating to see a lot of the reactions, especially you
know a lot of people of color, while sad that
this happened, you know, pointing out that they believe, you know,
a young woman of color, a black twenty two year old,

(05:53):
it wouldn't have gotten as much attention, you know, but
it's this young, hot blonde girl that was missing. And
not only was it gripping the nation, but then like
everybody started playing detective and pointing this out and pointing
that out. And I guess I'll go back to the
first thing that I was gonna say. It's bizarre to

(06:14):
me because we have a pop culture podcast when the
biggest pop culture story is something like this, because I'm
not trying to solve this. I mean, and now part
of it is solved. The body was found, but then
that guy, her boyfriend slash fiance, Ryan Laundry, is missing.

(06:34):
I was thinking about that on my walk this morning.
You know, as a parent, of course, you want to
protect your child. I couldn't aid in a bed my
one child, because then my two other kids would be
screwed if their brother was in jail, and their father
for helping the brother too. I have to think about
the family. I have to be Queen Elizabeth for a

(06:56):
moment and put the crown hat on. But that family,
like I don't know for sure, Like the family sure
seems guilty to me because the kid was home for
a while. Yeah, for I think ten days. September one
is when he allegedly got back, and the police didn't
come until September eleventh, and he came back in her

(07:17):
car without her.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, that's the thing with me. I didn't find the
story that fascinating because I read the story and said,
the boyfriend did it. It's always the boyfriend. It's not
like some serial killer grabbed her in the woods. Like
I think that's the thing about it, that everybody knew
that this guy was walking free, and everybody knew that
he did it. First sentence of girlfriend disappears. I'm like,

(07:40):
the boyfriend did it. He did, It's always the case.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
And then refusing to cooperate with authorities, not even just
the kid, the family refusing to cooperate as well. Then
this is the worst. This is why the family is
going to probably face charges. That guy was home home
in Florida for a while. Then last week he told

(08:04):
his family he's going camping, hiking, or whatever the hell
he told them on Tuesday. They did not tell the
authorities he was missing until Friday. But here's the bizarre part.
He told them where he was going camping. Then a
few days later, the family went to pick up his car.
Why would you go pick up his car if he's

(08:25):
going camping, How the hell is he going to get home?
They should definitely face charges. Look, that doesn't mean that
they knew. That just means that he's like, look.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
We broke up. Whatever. He could be sad, and the
families like give him some distance. Whatever that's about relationship.
It's not like they had to have known, you know.
I doubt he went home and confessed I killed my girlfriend.
I doubt it.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Why would they go pick up his car though, for.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Whatever reason the car's there, I decided to take off
go get the car. Okay, that's weird, but whatever, the
whole thing's sad. I hate I hate even talking about this.
If someone lost their life and this isn't entertaining to me.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Yeah, no, I know, but it literally like I could
not think of a single bigger pop culture story. I mean,
there was also the Met Gala, and I don't really
want to talk about it in depth because that happened
a week ago now, but I will say this about
the Met Gala, now that we're moving on. I do
not think Kim Kardashian was the best dressed.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Didn't she have a mask on her face? Mm hmm, yeah, No,
she wasn't the best dress.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
I will say she was not the best dressed, but
she was the most iconic in that I guarantee you
next month we will be seeing a whole bunch of
Kim Kardashian met gala costumes for Halloween. Sometimes it's better
to not even be the best dressed if you're the
most memorable, and she definitely was so good on her

(09:49):
Speaking of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West has unfollowed Kim on
Instagram six months into their divorced drama, which confuses me
because you know, there was that whole Donda listening event
in Chicago where she came out in the wedding dress

(10:10):
and then he escorted her out holding hands and everybody
thought they were back together. And maybe they were for
a week or two, and now they're not back together again.
But I don't know. I mean, on following her on
Instagram is definitely sending a clear message to the world
or he needs a headline, or he needs a headline.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
You know, there's nothing going on the albums.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
No, the album did pretty well.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
I mean, the cycle of it's kind of the press
of it is kind of over. No one's sitting around
talking about the music. No one's going, hey, there's a
banger on it that the world is infatuated with that
hasn't happened.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
It's wild that for most artists now, their album cycles
are so short it is most but then you have
a dua lipa bam that album, It's like it had legs. Actually,
I would even say, even if the Billboard charts don't
don't back this up, I would say Levitating is the
biggest hit of the year in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Trying to think of what could be.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Bigger, Maybe that Justin Bieber, Justin Deeber, the Kickler Roy songs.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Would go with that. I like that Weekend song. That
was a good song too, Save your Tears. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Well, speaking of Instagram, everybody was very concerned when Britney's
spears deleted hers. We'll get to that in a second,
but first, I'm so glad that I am making sleep
a priority again. It is so important if you want
to get good sleep, one of the most important things

(11:37):
is to get a great mattress. And Helix is not
just a great mattress, but a great mattress at a
great price for you. You've got a Helix mattress that
you're loving.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I do, and I stand by it, and I will
tell you guys all day long, it's the best mattress
that I've ever owned. And it's funny because I which
bedrooms often in the middle of the night because of
my cat, my little booboo, she starts crying and she
needs me to come sleep with her. She's like a
damn child. So I have to go to the other
bedroom and lay with her sometimes for an hour and

(12:13):
a couple of hours. And the other night I went
in and my mattress sucks in that room. It's one
of my old mattresses. I hate that mattress and I'm
always like this damn cat. I just want to get
back into my bedroom, into my bed because my mattress
is a Helix and it's luxurious, and I just sink
into it. It puts me right to sleep. I love
that mattress and that cat. There's appare how.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Many different mattresses to choose from. They've got soft, medium, firm,
but it's not overwhelming. Helix will help you through the process.
You take a simple quiz that just takes two minutes
and they will match you and your body type and
your sleep preferences to the perfect mattress for you. Go

(12:55):
to helixsleep dot com slash perez to take the quiz
and they'll match you. Helix is offering up to two
hundred dollars off all mattress orders and two free pillows
for our listeners at Helixsleep dot com slash perez Ah.

(13:17):
I love a good deal like that. All right, let's
get into Britney Spears. Britney Spears recently took down made Private.
I don't know the exact lingo, but if you go
to Instagram dot com slash Britney Spears right now, her
Instagram is not there. A lot of people were concerned,

(13:39):
thinking that she was hacked. Her father was involved with
this for some reason. Other people also conspiracies on the
other side, were thinking, oh. Her lawyer advised her to
take her down and take it down because up and
prior to this, she had been posting, not that there's
anything wrong with this, but she'd been posting like a

(14:01):
lot of scantily clad things like she posted this one
thing where she was topless and from behind and I
don't care whatever, like you know, tons of people do that. Eventually,
her lawyer, the new Lawyer, confirmed that Britney took it
down herself and just wanted a break. She still kept

(14:24):
her Twitter up, so the Britney Spears Twitter account sent
out a message saying, don't worry, folks, just taking a
little break from social media to celebrate my engagement. I'll
be back soon. And an update on a story that
we talked about last week. Octavia Spencer, that actress who

(14:46):
commented get a prenup on Brittany's Instagram, says that she
reached out to Brittany and her fiance Sam Escari privately
and apologized. So that's nice. But speaking of, you know,
the wedding, according to People magazine, Britney wants to get

(15:09):
married as soon as possible. And I would not say
that she's rushing into this because she's been with this
guy for five years now, so you know, they've had
a long time to really get to know each other
and she wants to get married.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
And has it really been five years?

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yes, he was.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
I just don't feel like year one of this podcast
we were talking about her having this new boyfriend. It
doesn't seem like it's been five years.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
But we've been doing the podcast for longer than five years.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
It's almost. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
They met on the music video set of one of
her videos for whatever album that was, and they've been
together ever since. Speaking of conservatorships, Amanda Bynes is still
under a conservatorship, and according to the latest legal documents

(16:03):
filed in a California courtroom, a judge has determined that
Binds should remain within the oversight of this conservatorship until
twenty twenty three. So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Do her parents oversee her? They do?

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Right, Yeah, I believe so, although there must be somebody
else because I think her parents live in Texas and
she's still living in California, so they must have some
kind of probably assistance, because how could you be overseeing
everything if you're not here without help? All Right. One

(16:43):
of the biggest stories that had a lot of legs
that really broke after we recorded last week's show, But
let's get into it is Nicki Minaj, and my thoughts
on this might surprise you. Okay, So, first of all,
so Nicki Minaj shared a story about her cousin's friend

(17:07):
having swollen testicles and allegedly being.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Infertile because of the COVID nineteen shot.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Right because of the COVID shot. Some people allege that
that is misinformation, and while that is most likely the case,
I am glad she was not banned, even though she
claims she was. I'm glad she was not kicked off
Twitter or anything like that, because she's just sharing a
story that she heard. Yeah, I think it's the responsibility

(17:34):
of the platforms to when they detect through their algorithm,
or in the case of Nicki Minaj, because she's so
popular and this was a big story, they should have
slapped some kind of advisory there, saying research has shown
that COVID will not affect your fertility, either male or
female in any way.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
And also my research has shown that Nicki Minaj is
full of shit. But I don't think you know, shearing
a story. She didn't say, oh, I agree with you.
She didn't say that it does that exactly exactly. That
was her part of her research down in her lab exactly.
So because she did not say the COVID shot will

(18:15):
make you infertile, to me, I would not classify that
as misinformation. I will always advocate for less censorship. I
will always advocate for the freedom of speech, even if
according to you, you know, it's these private organized these
private companies that can do whatever they want whatever. Still

(18:35):
I'm still going to advocate for freedom of speech and
less censorship. However, Nikki was.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Having a ball ha haha, literally like milking this story
and like going ham on Twitter for days, you know,
saying that she was invited to the White House, and
the White House got involved.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
In the White House, it's like, no, she wasn't, you know,
they said, we we offer to make one of our
health experts available to her to chat with her. The
Health Minister of Trinidad and Tobago got involved, saying that
we spent the time researching this and could not find
any such case. Like they actually tried to find her

(19:17):
cousin's friend and they couldn't. But things took a bit
of a turn, I would say, when she shared on
her Instagram story the phone numbers or the private information
of these two reporters who were trying to reach her family,

(19:38):
and not only did she dox them, but she threatened them,
like she literally said, blank, your days are fucking numbered,
you dirty hoe. She went on to say, threatening my
family in Trinidad won't bode well for you. I don't know.
I was on Nicki Minaj's side, even if I don't

(19:59):
agree with what she's saying up until this point. But
you know, good on her because you know her radio days,
her relevancy. Actually, I don't even know. Look at Kanye.
Kanye's quote radio days are over, but he's still very
talked about and his album did very well. If Nikki
released a new album, it might not have any quote

(20:19):
radio hits, but because of streaming, it might end up
doing well.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
You never know. Yeah, I was just thinking about getting
back to the censorship thing. I mean, I'm not for censorship,
but you know, when it comes to COVID and all
of the information that misinformation, disinformation that's out there, I
get it. You know, at some point you keep having
dumb people spread this stuff around as factual. I mean,
somewhere there's a person that believed what she had said

(20:45):
and that's just another excuse for them not to go
out and get a shot. And what she said is
not true. And I just feel badly for the uneducated.
And that's what this is. I mean, that's the people
that haven't gotten their shots are typically poor, uneducated. That's
what it is. It's not intelligent people that aren't going
to get the shots. It's the unintelligent people.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
I read this sad story about this woman who actually
was like I think, a nurser somehow worked in healthcare,
but she was twenty nine years old and engaged to
be married, and was convinced because her co workers were
saying there might be or there is infertility issues if
you take the COVID vaccine. She didn't take it.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Not true.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
She didn't take it and she ended up dying. And
then I shared that story on my social media and
I mentioned that she was twenty nine and had no
pre existing condition. And then this person, I don't even know,
they were probably a troll, but there is some truth
to it. This person said, well, obesity is a pre

(21:51):
existing condition, and this twenty nine year old girl may
have been healthy. But if you're very overweight, if you're obese, COVID.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Could kill you, so could diabetes.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I have a friend. This is a this is a
crazy one. This is a friend. This isn't like I
read this on the internet. This isn't like you know,
a friend of a friend, a friend that I've known
from twenty five years. You know, there's a lot of it.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
It's not your cousin's friend.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah, no, it's not my cousin's friend. I've done this
guy for years. He's in the business and stuff, and
I know what he's up to. I know the partying
he's done over the years, and we came up together
in our twenties and such, and I know how he's
treated himself for his body or what he's done in
his life. But he had a kid that had a
learning disorder, and I didn't know that he was like

(22:39):
an anti vaxer, you know, I didn't know that he
was like, look, we're not going to take the vaccine
because we believe that these vaccines caused my child to
have some sort of learning disorder. Which is that's your belief,
that's your belief. I just wonder could have been hit
something you have done prior in your life, or something
else that you've put in your body into your life.

(23:01):
So he gets COVID, right, So I'm like, what the hell, Like,
what are you gonna do? What's it like? And I
can't ask him because he's dead.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
He died. Oh no, he's dead.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Oh anti vaxxer, my age debt. I was just blown
away to learn that he was. And I just couldn't
believe it. Seemed like a sensible person but didn't take it.
Now he's dead. This was a friend of mine.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
So how old was he?

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Just over fifty?

Speaker 3 (23:27):
Not a famous person or a famous person.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
I probably made that story, did you know? No? Of
course not?

Speaker 3 (23:34):
All right and more rapper news. The timing of this
all G Eazy released a new song with Demi Lovado
and in I watched the music video like when it
came out on Friday. So I don't remember if it's
a headline that was shown on the music video or

(23:55):
if he rapped about this, but something about like him
being arrested for a which he had in the past
and now he was just arrested for assault again.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
You know, it was funny. Yesterday I went to the
Charger game and Ewan McGregor was there, had this suit
on and everything.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
What do you mean he had this suit on?

Speaker 2 (24:12):
You know, he was all dressed up. I don't know,
a suit. Yeah, like he's going to church. He's always
really nicely dressed. And they put him on the big
jumbo tron and he's like flexing and stuff. The whole
crowd booed the shit out of him. I mean, it
wasn't like cheering. They just I don't know. I think
people don't like him, but maybe people are fed up

(24:33):
with his crap.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
You and McGregor, you mean Connor McGregor.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Connor McGregor, not ewing ah Jesus, he said you and McGregor,
I met the fighter.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yeah, why would they boo you and McGregor.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Sorry about that. Told the story wrong, McGregor.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
All right, well we got some Jojo see what drama
your neighbor. You would not expect Jojo sea what to
beat in drama, but she is. But first you need
to drink Busy. It is the yummiest hard Seltzer I
have truly ever tried, and I like to try it
over and over and over again.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
We want to just make sure it's the best. I've
set it down to my lab and the results have
come back exactly the same. It's the best.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
I love vizzy Busy. You do not feel like you're
drinking alcohol. I love it, and I love it. A
can a Busy only one hundred calories and zero sugar,
plus the most delicious flavors. Busy comes in pineapple, mango,
black cherry, lime, strawberry, Kiwi blueberry, pomegranate, papaya, passion fruit, watermelon, strawberry,

(25:38):
and more. To find out where you can purchase Usy,
go to usyhard Seltzer dot com slash Perez.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
I like their watermelon line of USI and they have
all kinds of different watermelon flavors and I tore through those.
I had a friend over the other day who sampled
one for the first time. He's like, these are really good.
Oh my god, I told you they're great.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
So I'm really excited for this next topic because it's
almost like jumping forward into the future and imagining what
I would do with my child because I'm old enough
to be Jojo Sia's father. Oh my god, she's eighteen
years old. I'm forty three. I could have had her
at twenty one or twenty two, and that's not even that.

(26:21):
I mean, it's still kind of young, but it's not
like I was a teen dad or anything. Anyways, I
love Jojo Siwa. I find her inspiring, you know. I
think she's a great role model. And on one side
of it, I love that she did this. She really
stood up for herself against her boss, which from the
outside I think is great. She's going on tour soon

(26:43):
and her boss is Nickelodeon. She has this overall deal
with them to do all sorts of things, from you know,
starring this new movie musical to brand partnerships like selling stuff,
and the tour is partnership with Nickelodeon. She took the
very public step of putting them on blast because they are, allegedly,

(27:07):
according to her, not letting her perform her new songs
on tour. She says, I go on tour in January.
My movie musical was just released with six new songs.
Nickelodeon told me today that I'm not allowed to perform
add any of the songs from the film into my show.
These are my songs, my voice, my writing. Does this

(27:30):
seem fair? There is no reason that this music should
not be included. Working for a company as a human being,
as a real human being, treated as only a brand
is fun only until it's not so. As a parent,
if I were her dad, I would say, Okay, I
understand your desire to say this and do this, But,

(27:53):
like as she said, they told her this just today,
give me a few days to try to work this
out privately. If they just told you today, your first
go to is to put them on blast.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
When you're that big of a celebrity, though you might
be able to get away with it, you know what
I mean. Like, ultimately, this is how she'll get her way.
I don't know if it's great business to do that.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Well, that's what I'm saying. I don't know if it's
the best business. I've just personally made a lot of
mistakes in the past, and I do believe that things
can get resolved if you try to resolve them. But
it seems literally going off what she read Nickelodeon told
me today, I don't know how much they tried to
resolve it behind the scenes. Like she understandably, she's a

(28:35):
big star and she makes the company a lot of money,
so she was shocked that they would even tell her this.
But show business full of full of people, you know,
making outlandish requests or demands or whatever. I would say,
try to work it out privately before you put them
on blast. But yeah, because check yeah, but she you know,

(28:57):
she did it, and we don't have an update yet.
And also, like the people going is Jojo Siwa does
not have any hit songs, not a one. So the
people going to see Jojo See What in concert just
want to see Jojo see What in concert. And the
people that are going to see her in concert are
probably like the super fans, the ones that did watch

(29:18):
this movie musical that know the songs from the movie musical,
that would probably want to see the songs from the
movie musical. So what is good on you? I guess,
But I feel so protective of Jojo. I hope that
this does not come back and haunt her in the
future she regrets how she responded or whatever. It might be.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Okay, but maybe you're just buying the narrative, maybe that
she's just doing this or it's all planned.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
You're such a skeptic, you know, why not?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
It's raising awareness? How do you raise awareness? You go
against the grank Look, if there's a data story listen today,
that those songs are involved.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
You might. Okay, that might be true if you're talking
about celebrities. But Nick Kelodian itself is a brand, and
the corporate people there do not want any negativity attached
to their brand. Well, good point, So yeah, I'm not
buying that. Okay, all right, speaking of negativity, I don't
understand this. I thought it was only positive. But Megan

(30:18):
and Harry Prince Harry and his wife Megan markle Americans
Montecito residents.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
They're not Americans.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Well she is, all right, Well, he's been living here
for over a year now an American. Well he might
be Oh my god, imagine the scandal that'll happen if
and when he does decide to become an American citizen.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
But he married an American citizen, So doesn't that make
him an American citizen.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
I don't think so. No, he might be able to
be here. That might get him a being card or
I don't know. I don't know the minutia. But if
you just married someone, they became a citizen.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
No, I don't have to look that up.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
The Crown did very well at the Emmy's last night.
I saw, as did ted Lasso, which I sa started
by the way, which is so so good. It's so good,
you know what.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Oh God, I don't want to get crap for this,
I'll say it anyways. I never watched television on the plane.
I on the way back. On the way there, I
slept the whole way on the way back, I slept
a little bit. But I also watched some television. I
watched two episodes of Shit's Creak. I thought it was
so overrated.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
No, it's fantastic. It's funny because that show it starts.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Off slide I didn't think it was bad. The thing
is about that show, and I did not watch the
first season. Actually, they only had season two, so it
was the second season of the show. The first two
episodes of season two.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
You got to see the build because the first season,
to me, is a little plunky and it's a little
like this is kind of a concept that you feel
like that has been done a million times. They lose
their riches, they got to go live somewhere else, you know,
I feel like I've seen that story before. But the
great thing about that show is the evolution of the characters,

(32:02):
how they so slowly turn into real people from the
pukes that they were, and by the end of it,
you were there's just such a warmth for the entire
family because they've discovered that they're a family from losing everything,
and that's that's the crux of the show. That's why
it's such a great show. But you have to see

(32:22):
it unravel to get that. So if you watch two episodes,
I would see why you wouldn't get it. But it's funny.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
My only issue was I just thought it would be funnier,
like it wasn't like a haha, laugh out loud comedy.
There were some really funny moments. I just thought it
would be funnier. I don't know. I didn't. I didn't.
I didn't hate it. I just thought it was overhyped.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Well, if you haven't watched, it's creat trust me, don't
listen to Perez because it's phenomenal. It's one of the
best sitcoms. If that, if you could call that a
sitcom because it's thirty minutes that I've ever watched.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Ye, I watched two episodes, and I would not agree
with that.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Okay, yeah, well, all right, no one will ever take
your opinion on television shows from two episode.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Well, they should still be able to they should still
be compelling. They weren't.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
It's it's a body of work. I'd be like saying,
I went to a movie and I watched four minutes
of it, and I can tell you the movie sucks.
It's like, no, well, if.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
The first four minutes sucked, then you know I might.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Lead or like you did he watch the first for minutes?
You watched like minute twenty six? What a minute thirty
out of three hours and it doesn't make sense. It's
a great show. Don't listen to him. It's phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
I watched episodes one and two of season two, so
for those of you who are curious, maybe those were
just two of the like boring ones or whatever. AnyWho,
Megan and Harry are on the cover of People Magazine's
Most Influential People issue, and I thought, oh, fabulous, great, wonderful.
What are the haters going to be able to hate
on them about? Right? Boy? Can they find things day

(33:51):
hey on that of my or like literally everything from
what influence do they have? They don't have any influence too.
Oh my god, look at me and Marco wearing so
much jewelry. She's wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth
of jewelry. A lot of that jewelry was hand me
downs or gifts. And who cares? She's rich, he's rich.

(34:15):
They live in a ginormous, almost twenty million dollar house.
They're rich. Are they gonna pretend to be poor or something? Like?
It did not bother me whatsoever that she had like
pink two pinky rings and this other ring and a
bracelet and blah blah blah, like sounds like a lot
of jealous people. I did an interview recently. I was

(34:35):
talking about my past, and I said, I take full accountability,
I own, I accept it was me. I regret and
I'm sorry for all of that. But while I was
doing it, I would keep telling myself a bunch of
lies or like bs to like justify my behavior to myself.

(34:58):
And one of the things that I used to tell
myself was, these are just characters and it's like a
soap opera and I'm you know, blah blah blah blah.
I do believe that the same applies to a lot
of these people, Like a lot of people online don't
view Megan and Harry as real people. They view them
as characters.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Take it back a step to Octavia. What's her fucking nuts?
She did the exact same thing. She was just us
like get a brune up girl, Like didn't realize I'm famous,
was just trying to be funny. Meanwhile, it connected to
two real human beings and could have been deemed as hurtful.
It happens all of the time. People will never meet

(35:38):
these people and feel like they have some sort of
right to say that they're like pieces of shit and such.
It's like, well, well back the train up a little bit.
They are real people. They are annoying people. I'll give
you that there. Oh my god, these two people could
not be more annoying. And Harry, Oh they're They're so annoying.
They're so full of themselves. They've done nothing, they have

(36:01):
no talent. Your suit show is a good show.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
They're trolling. They're trolling with d bag.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Anyways, come on, you don't find them annoying. No, I'm
not like ating them. I get why people have such
disdain for them. It's like the Kardashians. You're you're constantly.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
How could you have disdain for them.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Because you're inundated with them constantly and you're like, they're
not giving me anything.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
And just because of that, you're gonna hate them.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Oh, I'm not hating anyway. A lot of people dislike them.
A lot of people hate I'm saying that they're not
likable people.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
To me, I like them.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
You know, you're a suck ass. You like all celebrities.
You're like, I'm gonna I'm gonna suck up to them.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
So maybe I am a free thinker. Okay, I am not. Anyways,
that interview that I did was for the Sunday Times
in the UK, and boy, I'm actually surprised that it
got such a reaction because I I didn't even think
people would read it per se, and maybe people didn't
read it because the article was under a paywall, but

(37:04):
the newspaper tweeted out like a bunch of the quotes
from it. So I was trending on Twitter twice yesterday
and getting a lot of hate.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Nice congrat I mean, I don't.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Want to get hate, but I do like being trending.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
So yeah, that was a good point though that you made,
because I agree with you. I think that's exactly what happens.
And like Prince Harry or Megan the Stallion wife, whatever
her name is, they don't care what I think, so
you know what I mean, like, but they need to
be talked about, so they're winning by being talked about.
I just think you make a lot of good points

(37:40):
about all of that stuff.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Well thanks, I know what I'm talking about. I know
you know who also knows that they're talking about? People Magazine.
People every Day is People Magazine's daily pop culture podcast
covering it makes up celebrity interviews, inspirational human interest stories,
and coverage of what's trending in pop culture news. That's
everything from the latest on Britney Spears, Conservatorship news, to

up stars like Kristin Chenowick, Tan France, and Vivica Fox
for exclusive interviews about their life, work and relationships. People
every Day is bringing you the same trusted journalism and

(38:25):

in the news and on Twitter and Facebook. Listen to
People every Day wherever you get your podcasts. All right

(38:47):
on to Wendy Williams. I genuinely wish her well and
full and speedy recovery. There's a lot to unpack here. First.
Earlier this month, it was announced on the Wendy Show
Instagram that due to unspecified health issues, she was pulling

(39:10):
out of some promotional obligations that she had to do
for her show. Then a few days ago, it was
announced that she had COVID and it was described as
a breakthrough case, which is interesting because it was pointed
out to me that she and I don't watch the
Wendy Show, but people who do watch, and there are

(39:33):
people who still watch. They claim that she was an
anti vaxxer, that she had said she was not going
to get the COVID vaccine and she ended up getting it,
if we are to believe this statement, because the only
breakthrough cases are with people who had the COVID vaccine.
So there was that, and then literally hours after The
Wendy Show announced that she had COVID and because of that,

(39:56):
they were delaying the start of the new season. Multiple
reports claimed that a nine to one one call was
made from Wendy's apartment building and that she was rushed
to a New York City hospital needing assistance for quote
psychiatric services. We don't The police did not go into

(40:19):
specifics about what happened, and I guess nobody really knows
the specifics of what happened. But she's been going through
some health issues for a while now, and wishing her well.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Since you told the story about the influencer, Oh.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Right, right right, the one that died, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yeah, the one that died. I kind of put a
little mental check mark next to her and said, this
is unraveling because she's too smart to say something like
that and just so flippantly. I know she's shocking, and
you know she speaks her mind and such, but that
was so cold, and in my mind, I said, something's
going on, something's something is spiraling in the direction so

(41:01):
to hear this news, I'm not. I gotta be honest
with you, I'm not that shocked. You don't use words
like that on a television show when you know better.
You know, so I hope the.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Best for get well soon, Wendy, you know.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
And speaking of I was watching CBS the Morning Show yesterday,
like before football it was on, and I saw Chris
Rock and Chris It's funny because Chris Rock's rap is
almost dead on, like with my rap. You could tell
that I'm so influenced heavily by comedians. But he was
talking about the COVID shot and he's like, look, I

(41:33):
don't know what's in a title and all, but it works.
And he's like, I don't know what's in a big mac.
I don't know, but it tastes great. And he's like,
I know this vaccine works. So I saw a whole
rap by him, right, and then the story comes out
last night that he's got COVID. So he tweeted out
like this is no fun get a shot. So he
must have a breakthrough case, I'm guessing because he was

(41:54):
on with Gail talking about you know, he's trying to
convince people to go get their vaccination. It sounds like
the breakthroughs are still pretty rough too, is what I'm getting.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Oh yeah, I've heard that. I've heard that. You know,
I read an article which clearly you know, it's not
set in stone. Anything can happen. I did not tell
my mom. I need I need to tell my mom.
I told my aunt and uncle yesterday in Miami because
they're older. This article predicts that in the United States

(42:24):
we should be done with COVID by the end of November.
Here's why. More and more people are getting vaccinated, and
more and more people are getting COVID, so eventually we're
going to get to that point where we're all good,
and they're predicting that that point will be by the
end of November. I hope. Oh my god, So that's good.

(42:47):
All right? Some more TV related news. This upset people
and I don't care. I congratulated Piers Morgan on his
new job. He got hired with like a mega deal.
Sometimes the things you think are the worst things that
happened to you are the best things that happened to you.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
True.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Rupert Murdoch hired Piers Morgan after he quit or was
fired or it was a parting of the ways he
was hosting Good Morning Britain for many years in the UK,
and then there was that whole Megan Markel incident where
he was a d bag. Okay, he questioned her, he
expressed doubt that she was having suicidal thoughts. That's stupid.

(43:30):
You don't know she was having suicidal thoughts. The only
person who really knows is she was having suicidal thoughts
or not as her So that was a d bag
move of his part. But I like Piers Morgan. I
do like you know. I was talking to somebody in
an interview recently about there's people in your family that
you disagree with on certain things. Like I grew up

(43:53):
in Miami, many to most of my family are Republicans.
The Cuban community in Miami is overwhelmingly Republican. I don't
align with them on this issue or that or whatever.
But for me, my family is still my family. And
I can disagree with Peers on a lot of things,
but I can genuinely like him and congratulate him and

(44:15):
be happy for him. And a lot of people were
upset about that. But what has He's got this new
deal where he's going to be helping Rupert Murdoch launch
a new network in the UK. Plus also he's going
to be releasing a book. He's going to be appearing
on Fox Nation here in the US, and good on him.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Let's get us on that UK version of whatever.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
I already texted my manager, are you kidding me? I'm
fucking on it.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
Well, that's right up my alley. That's the kind of
thing I need to be on because I don't I'll
give my opinion about everything. If you don't like it,
tough shit.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
But I don't know if he has a contact there.
I need to need to find a contact.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
I gotta get on that radar.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Yeah, all right, I got some adele news, but first,
I'm so truly excited about this. Mariah Carey is one
of the most sucessful singers of all time, but her
rags to riches story isn't exactly a fairy tale. On
an all new season of Even the Rich, you'll hear
the astonishing story of Maria's rise to fame and the

(45:13):
heartbreaks and trauma she survived along the way. Basically, this
is a brand new podcast series dedicated just to Mariah Carey.
Even the Rich will explore it all, from you know,
her early years, to her being discovered and married to

(45:34):
Tommy Mottola, to her freedom, rebuilding her career, the rise,
the fall, the comeback everything. Listen to Even the Rich
on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, or you can listen ad
free by joining Wondery Plus. In the Wondery app, I'm
a Lamb. I will be listening to Even the Rich

(45:55):
the Mariah story, So I'm excited for that. Adele has
gone Instagram official with her sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul,
and she is like, she's the I don't know how
she does it, but she's just got great self control
or smart or a team or whatever it might be.

(46:20):
I think it's her. You know, she posts just enough
to where whenever she does post something on Instagram, it's
like an event, Like I checked and the last time
that she had posted something on Instagram was two months ago,
so like she posts once every two months or something's.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
On the booker schedule.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
Yeah, it's like real special. And she posted a photo
of her all glammed up. She went to this wedding
and with her boyfriend, and she shared a photo of
the two of them on her Instagram. And she looked great.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
She looked happy. She looked really happy.

Speaker 3 (46:55):
I wouldn't describe it as happy. She wasn't serving, she
wasn't just she was not serving happy to me, she
was serving diva fierce glam you know, not.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Happy I did.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
I'm not saying she looked unhappy, but that's not like
how I would describe her photos. Anyways, congratulations to Adele.
Happy for her, and I'm sure that you know she
could use some help with her insurance, like Geico could
really be a big benefit to Adele or to our
viewers and listeners. Do you own or rent your home?

(47:28):
Sure you do, and I bet it could be hard work.
You know what's easy bundling policies with Geico. Geico makes
it easy to bundle your homeowners or renter's insurance along
with your auto policy. It's a good thing too, because
you already have so much to do around your home.
Go to Geico dot com, get a quote and see
how much you could save. It's Geico Easy. Visit Geico

(47:48):
dot com today. That's Geico dot com. All right, let's
take some calls.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
I find it funny that you always say viewers before listeners.
I am listener before viewer.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Well, I'm trying to grow our YouTube. I do that
on purpose to train you, and I hate it. I
think the bread and butter is the listener. I care
about the listener the most. Fuck that people watch it.
I don't care about any ofthing. I care about both.
But I'm trying to grow our YouTube.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
Couldn't care less listen to the podcast. If you never
watched this, I couldn't care less.

Speaker 5 (48:23):
Hypers High Booker Samanda from British Columbia, Canada. I was
just calling in about the Lana Delray deciding to leave
social media, and I just wanted to say that I
agree with Booker and that I think more artists, particularly
younger artists, are going to be steering away from social media. However,
I also agree with Perez and that just because they

(48:44):
personally won't be running their accounts won't mean that those
accounts won't exist. So, like Cleena Gomet, she doesn't run
her own social media for her rare beauty or for
her personal account. She has someone that does it for
her because she's stated numerous times but she thinks that
social media is talk dick. But she also realizes that
she needs her smipe up to orders on her real

(49:04):
beauties for those tales to come through.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
So I think you are both right.

Speaker 5 (49:09):
I love you so much, talk to you too.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Selena is like one of the most followed people on Instagram.
Lona del Rey is not Lana Delray is trying to
be the cred artist. I don't ever see the pop
star saying I'm getting off social media. I don't ever
see that happening. There's just that's like taking money and
just flushing it down.

Speaker 3 (49:27):
The Dray's she's this pop star, she's more cred.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
I think she wants to be more known as cred
than pop star. I just think there's a difference between
the two. But Noted, your point is Noted Hi calling.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
To say, can we please stop with the bullying Fagin
four conversation.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
You know what's funny, It's like we didn't mention it
the week before, but the callers do. We can't really
help what the callers what to talk about.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
You know what I mean, I don't talk about it anymore.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
That's what I'm saying, Like, I can't help what the
callers want to talk. I mean when we get one
hundred calls and ninety nine are about the same thing,
Like what am I supposed to do? All right?

Speaker 5 (50:15):
You know, hey, Brooker here Chris Michelle calling from New York.
I've been listening to your podcast for at least five
years now, so I love you and the podcast so much. Sorry,
you guys already spoke about this, but I was just
very curious because I know that Booker loves Billie Eilish.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
How much do you guys love her new songs and
music video for Happier than Ever.

Speaker 3 (50:38):
I don't even know if I've heard it.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
I've heard it, I don't feel the same way, but.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
I've definitely not seen the music video. But I don't
if I've heard it, I don't remember it. I feel
like Billy's doesn't have the buzz anymore. She like she
lost the heat. It's all about Olivia Rodrigo.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
It really is. People love her. She was at the
Heart Festival this weekend. I saw a little bit of
her performance. She was pretty good. I didn't think she
was so much of a deer in the headlights as
I thought the last performance was. But yeah, it was fun.
You know, it was fun. It was just young. It's
just really young. And that's what it is, you know,
the older I get. I just see these stars getting young.

Speaker 5 (51:17):
You know you, guys, I just called about the bullying
a few minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Okay, I'll just stop that. No more bullying calls. We're
done with bullying. We hear you. I also hear you
about Britney Spears. I mean, people are so tired of
Britney Spears. That's the number one complaint I get about
our show as we've spent way too much time on
Brittany just telling you, I don't you know, the news
is the news. That's what I would That would be
my retort. That's the story. When we can not talk

(51:42):
about what everybody's talking about. So I get it. I'm sorry,
but that's you know, Perez is the director here with
that stuff. Let's wrap it up, all right.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
Well, thank you, guys. Eight hundred and seventy five. Tell
your friends about our podcast. We want and need to
keep growing it. Okay, yeah, to share us sharing us
