It it has more power than the call they didn't call.

fumbled and then got the ball back and they got
the field goal got blocked. Yeah, I mean, you know

We actually celebrated Lisa's birthday with the grandkids. Her birthday

think that her birthdays on the twenty first. Yeah, she

one time, at one time we were driving alone, and
I said, sure were we staying at an inn or
a bed and breakfast. She goes, no, I think it's

bed and breakfast. And so we go to pull sit
around table with a bunch of strangers. And so we
go to pull in and there's the sign. I said,
it clearly says bed and breakfast. And we come pulling
up to.

You don't pull up and when the people stand out
there say come and that you want it a nice place.

go beyond Hampton and now we stayed at nice hotels.

Like when y'all went to like I was thinking about,

There's actually a lot of places where there's people that
come out and get your luggage. You have never seen
the little thing where they come out and put it
on here and they.

But I can't carry it back.

I will say this. I'm checking in somewhere. Where do

So anyway, so I pull up that, we go into
the front door on it and there's no one in there,

and all of a sudden it hits me, which y'all
all have already been saying.

So I've never been.

To a bed and break Suddenly, suddenly it dawns on me.
It hits me pretty quick. We're just company.

Okay, we're coming over somebody's house.

They just watching TV and doing their own thing. We're company,
and I come on anybody, we're relatives. We're relatives coming
to visit. And I mean, I'm like, this is somebody's house.

Hey, it makes a little water with that, right, you're
on vacation with strange Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
And then it hits you like y'all said, oh, I
don't have a hotel room, I have a room. Get
a house like you, like you shifted in the bed
and the whole bad school, Like it's Christmas and you
got extended family coming over. You go, all right, we
got you set.

Up in this room. Just like in the movies.

Speaker 5 (01:23:14):
It's a guess room. Did you want a guess room?
Did you have to sit around the table with strangers
and eat breakfast?

At one point other people are in the house.

I mean, I understand in the hotel you go down
for continental breakfast and you do eat around other people.

sit at the same table somebody, but we would get
over to tow cedar, but in a very tiny room
like we all ate in a room about the sights

There's one downstairs which I paid it. I paid a
visit to it one time. But now you're in there
and there's only one sink that's kind of out in
the room. Then there's a tiny little toilet room, and
then they had a bathtub slash shower that you could
tell they put in that old room.

host and they were wonderful people, wonderful people, such such

this fill in the blank okay for breakfast? But I
don't have a menu. So I'm thinking, could I say no?

Is this just the way they inform you this is
what we're having for breakfast? Do they have another option?
Like would they say, how about a croissant? I didn't
know what to do with it?

And I liked what they were making, so I was
finding it was absolutely delicious. But that was a weird
thing because I'm a custom I'm standing somewhere. I go
down there for breakfast. I got a menu, yeah, or
I got a buffet or something, not a bed and
breakfast luggage.

Well I realized, no, no, you've already said.

I didn't realize that when you go to a bed
and breakfast your company, you're just showing out what you're
sewing up to see somebody, and they say, here's the
room you're.

In, and the beautiful room.

You know, let's face it, the craftsmanship of you know,
one thing they told us about the property, and this
is just a little bit of serous sidebar here, not serious. Interesting.
They said that when they were refurbishing this place that's
been around, like say, since James Madison lived there. Well
he didn't live there, but this was part of his
greater property. It was a friend of his who actually

(01:30:12):
built that, built that, and his kids went there in
all this way. But they said, when we were refurbishing everything,
the stuff that was made before and up to the
Civil War was in great shape. Everything made after the
Civil War in the Industrial Age was garbage cheap.

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
They said. Up to the.

Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
Industrial Age, boy, we built qualities stuff. But when it
became let's get as much of it out there as
we possibly can make it as cheap as you can.
They said that stuff would just falling part everywhere. But
they said, Civil War back good quality stuff. And you
could see some of it. It was incredible. By the way,
if you want to go to small town colonial Virginia,

and if you speedy who loved Barnes, it's barn heaven,
there are barnes, beautiful barns. Even on the property there
was a beautiful barn. So you go in there and
look around. I did so, and if you add or
you would have just loved and you and I both
as handy people. There was there was a work. There
was a workshop shop in that barn that the sun had.

It had every kind of till you can think of,
and it was set up so neat and so organized.
Mind not have liked that part apparently, But this is
this a little walking trails actually a four wheeler trail.

to be real careful when you get into all that,
because you know, people can be hypper sensitive, especially when
you're in Virginia not missing up your Alabama and so

and great food, great great service. Wonderful people. Uh they really,
they really, they really were very very nice people. Now
when I get into the you know, I'm kind of
likeabull in the China Shop. You know, throughout the years
of listening to my many trips, you know, sharing I
we can't we just can't seem to stay out of
oward situations, and no matter how hard we try. And

so James Madison, the guy playing James Madison, who was
certain he was James when not, all of a sudden.

things box catch, there's my beautiful wife, the landscape there

going back to the days of colonial America, it's uh,

I didn't know there's various little houses every where. Stepped
into one and said, hey, this thing is pretty cool.
Uh and then the woman says, these are slave quarters.

Well, I was kind of saying, what a cool little
camp house and everything. Man, today's turn in today's time.

well let's not think out loud all right?

Then yeah, I.

I rambled around, but it was I thought, well, James
Madison probably had nicer you know, facilities and maybe some
other places, and then continuing in the couple and I'm
just rambling. So anyway, so hey, that's on me. So
we uh so we go, we go in and uh,
we get up there and we're going through the house

and we get to James Madison's library, which they estimated
that he had at any time three thousand or more books,
and it was where big moment in history. It was
where he was set down and put together what became
the Constitution. That's a big they said. Stayed up there
for like nine months. So anyway, okay, it's a pretty

big deal. Yeah, well, you have to be careful because
in the books from real no, they said that unfortunately,
there was a fire and they lost most of them,
but they went and found replicas from other lives. Just
say not because when they looked at his writings, they
could see the books he read, so they tried to
go find duplicates of the stuff that he was actually
reading as best they could. So anyway, so our guide

begins to look a bit of a lecture. None of
us think slavery was good, well, none of us.

We would think there was a scar on the world,
not just our country, you know, because it was all

a step out and the and the woman said excuse me.

writing the constitution. Yeah, maybe he needed to free his
time up for that. Slavery is a bad thing, but
I don't think we're ready to said that James Madison
didn't work. Any anybody think putting together constitution was was
was work? I said, other than being up here for
nine months putting together the constitution?

ultimately was used to free people because we were being

inconsistent with what we claimed in there. So putting the
Constitution together there was work. Probably a lot. How many
people were standing there with you while you.

And how many were appalled that'd be that'd be five.

And you were the only one that wasn't. Then we
go out and then was rather.

Then she goes, why and I said, that's I'm sorry, honey,
that was a good point. She goes, it actually was
not a bad point. It just shouldn't have been made. Yeah, okay,
why do we care if this woman? Why are we
debating her? I said, you don't need to take it
too far, you know, you you can go and say that,
you know, we need to be thankful and how this

thing operated, and it did operate like a fine old machine,
and that the people who who did the work. We
can do all that, but don't say James Madison didn't work.
He didn't do He might not have done much labor,
but he did work. Yeah, he's making a good point.

that Oswald Chambers actually lived in. It was actually he
was born in the eighteen hundreds and then died in
his forties in the early nineteen hundreds, actually in Cairo, Egypt,
fighting in World War One. So anyway, but his wife

had her sermon notes. Sherry talked about this. Sherry did
a post about this kind of using the analogy of
what Charlie Kirk's wife is doing and she said, you know,
think about these wives that have had to do this
throughout time. You know, Elizabeth Elliott being one when her
husband was killed, you know, by the very people he

was going to reach at a very young age. In
Oswald Chamber's wife who kept her notes from all his sermons.
And my humble opinion, which probably doesn't mean a whole lot,
but others agree which might help you more. It's one
of the best, if not the best, daily devotional, my utmost,
first highest, which I've mentioned on the show many times,

and really people asking about listening, I actually read more
of from great Bible teachers than I listened to because
usually that's when I have the most time. When I'm writing,
a lot of times I'm returning phone calls and things

He was healthy, yeah, yeah, which drove some of his
colleagues crazy. They didn't like the fact that he was smoky.

was a big argument one time. I can't remember what
it was him with his cigars. One of his proteges,
not protegees, but one of his colleagues.

It might have been, but anyway, I can't remember, but
didn't one of them liked to go to the theater
and the other one liked to have a cigar and

talk about Matthew McConaughey, what comes to mind speaking of
not so great theologians, but people that motivate people. I

put Matthew McConaughey in one of those places where you
know he'll talk, and I find myself intrigued by what

I talk about a lot about like vibes and stuff

migrants have. Is that correct.

Yes. They're saying that the sniper killed at least one
migrant and wounded several others. There might be other fatalities
as well that haven't been confirmed. They're saying, when authorities were,
I guess pinned him in and we're getting to him,
the alleged sniper shot himself dead. They're calling it a

blood bath at the facility there in Texas. UH. And
the Dallas Police Department told Daily Mail in a statement
that two people were taking to the hospital with the
with gunshots. One victim died at the scene. UH. And
they're they're also saying in Fox News is reporting that
it looks like they were the detainees were being transferred

into the facility and the shooter. Uh. Is that that's
when the shooter opened fire. Uh So I don't. I
don't know. That's kind of really all we have. If
it was a targeted attack or if it was just hey,
I'm shooting in that direction, I have I don't know,
but we can't confirm no law enforcement officers were injured.

So I guess you could you know, you could speculate
crazy shooter, just shooting shooter trying to shoot at ICE
agents but hits migrants, someone targeting migrants correct, could be cartel,
could it could be it could be really use. I
don't think the cartel. The guy would take his own life, though,

you or you know, it seems unlikely. Yeah, you know,
maybe there was somebody they didn't want to be questioned,
you know, so they tried to kill them as they
were bringing them in. I don't know, you know, And
it seems like these ICE facilities have been a target
here of late. There's been a number of reports on

still details that we need before reporting two more, but

he didn't go far enough. Some people are saying, I

that the other one. They did not clear his show
last night on their feelies. I think it's about a
third of the one all the ones that he has,
because they were not satisfied up to this point. I
don't know if this will satisfy them. They were demanding
a public apology. So here is Jimmy Kimmel, courtesy of

watching Erica Kirk.

A moment over the weekend, a very beautiful moment. I

to weasel out of it and say, oh, I'm sorry.

terrible news and they reacted to it like humans. And

And then some days I don't go there because I've
been doing this so I know everything.

They would, you wouldn't know what a fun afternoon would
be for me if the four of us went and played. See,
that's a lot of fun. But y'all don't have the
patience to learn. And y'all aren't that bad because you
went out there and even though you tore your shoulder up, y'all,
y'all went out there and you hit the ball, didn't
hit the ball.

Speaker 5 (03:11:50):
But in all fairness, I mean, I'm a world class athlete,
of course, closest wing comes top golf.

Speaker 2 (03:11:58):
Right, you hit it? That's fun. Could I show you? Well,
I'd love to show you, but you're asking me to
play the golf versus watch it. That's different.

Yeah, playing it might you know a nation little activity.

That's what I'm saying. I mean, y'all, could we could
get you know, that'd be fun.

Speaker 5 (03:12:13):
And you know, one of the reasons it's not a
sport gives me hope of fat people know, people are
still good at it.

Speaker 2 (03:12:18):
That's true. I mean, there's all kinds of things we
do that are activities that are fun. That's not the
it's not the Big three.

Speaker 5 (03:12:25):
Takes a long time though. Yeah, and I really wish y'all.
Would I rather be playing golf or hunting?

Speaker 2 (03:12:31):
I'd rather be o. Yeah, everything doesn't go don't tankers
number one time for this? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:12:37):
If you're in the morning, well then midday, go ahead
a f your golf balls and then hunting.

Speaker 2 (03:12:41):
I'm just saying that, wouldn't it be cool to have
a foursome and we like we go out and play.
I'll live and take Adler will play the burgers?

Speaker 4 (03:12:47):
You say even take Outler?

Speaker 2 (03:12:48):
Why you say even and well beat the socks off, y'all.
So you did say even take out, Well, why do
you say that? I mean, I would be honored to
take Adler.

Speaker 5 (03:12:55):
Well, you can get some clubs from when jac was
like ten that can you?

You have a kids at some yellows? Actually River uses those.

fun of golf. It was the guy's next to you.
