Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome back, my dear curious collectors, to part two of
our trap NERD's side Quest horror series. The Umbrell Reliquary
welcomes you all with open arms. Tell me, have you
ever caught your own reflection doing something you didn't? A blink,
a tilt to the head, just a second too late

(00:23):
or too early. Maybe you told yourself it was a
trick of the light. Maybe you looked away before it
could happen again. But what happens when the reflection doesn't
stop watching you back? A chilling proposition. To be sure,
the Umbrell Reliquary prides itself on retaining some more modern conveniences,

(00:45):
which is why their re acquisition department just so happens
to have a voicemail. So why don't we give one
of those harrowing messages a listen? Enjoy.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
You've reached the Umbro Reliquary's reacquisition department. We're terribly sorry
to have missed your call. Unfortunately the curator is and
disposed at the moment. Time does strange things here. Please
leave a message and a brief description of what follows

(01:25):
you after the tone will know how to find you
or what remains.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Hey, this is I came into the shop last week
and got that hand held mirror, the silver one with
the crack that looks like a smile. I know your
policy says you don't do returns, but I really need
to get rid of this thing. I I gave it

(01:57):
to my girlfriend. It was supposed to be you know, romantic,
oh pretty, a little spooky. She loved that old creepy stuff,
but then she started seeing things. It was nothing at first.
She told me that one time she saw her reflection blank.
I thought she was joking, playing up on the creepy

(02:19):
mirror thing. You know. That was just how it started.
And every time I came over and looked into the mirror,
nothing was wrong. I tried calling her for two days
before I just showed up because she wasn't answering anymore.

(02:40):
But she's gone. I don't know what she is. Her
apartment is just just like she vanished. The mirror was
sitting here on her bed. I didn't bade any mind
at first, but when I glanced at it, I saw
something weird. I don't know how to explain it. It's

(03:02):
like it's like I'm looking at me, except it's all wrong.
At first, I thought I was imagining things, stressed out
from not finding her here, I'm not hearing from her,
but it's it's been changing since I got here, little things,
mostly like my eyes. I'm not quite right, my skin

(03:26):
forming dark cracks and wrinkles, and then it goes back
to some semblance of normal. And it doesn't move like
I do. Like there's a delay or something. I don't
know how to explain it. I don't know how to
make it stop. I tried leaving the room. I tried

(03:50):
covering it up, turning it around, but if I look
away too long, I can feel it, like it'll take me,
like it took her, like it took her. I know,
I know it took her. I don't know how, but
I know it. I feel it. Maybe I'm going crazy.

(04:16):
I probably sound crazy, but it's it's right here in
my hand. I'm staring right into this mirror to try
and stop it from changing anymore. But now every time
I blink it's it's wrong. The more I stare, the
more I don't know. Change is it? It makes me

(04:39):
not me, and I don't know what to do. I
can't look away. There are there are sounds coming from
the other room, and I can't look away. I can't
look away. I keep thinking that if I look away,
it's it's I looked a way earlier to see what

(05:08):
was making those sounds, and when I looked back, I swear,
I swear I saw it grin for a moment before
returning to my own face or not my face, something
something wrong, but pretending to be me, but not me.
I I don't know it was watching me. I could

(05:32):
feel like watching me, waiting, staring back at me with
dark eyes, and I just I can't. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
I don't I don't know what I'm doing. I just

(05:53):
I need help. I need help. Please, if there's something
anything I can do, please tell me. I I'm getting tired.
I'm scared. If I go to sleep it'll take me,
and the sounds are getting louder, and I don't know

(06:17):
how long I can. I'm not looking way, I'm not looking.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Wait, it's changing.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
There's something I need to do or say to make
it stop. Please way, I didn't look a way. That's
not fair.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Please end this message.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
The reacquisition team arrived at the address shortly after the
message was received. As you might imagine, they found nothing,
no sign of the caller or his missing girlfriend. However,
the item was recovered and has now been put back
on the shelves for any who wished to claim it
for themselves. Remember at the Umber Reliquary, some reflections remember

(07:11):
more than they should. Good Night, my dear curious collectors.
