Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, so we are back on the way concept
(00:02):
presented by the ring and last night we had some
fantastic fight. Arnold barbos A pretty much dominated that fight.
To be honest, we got to see Oscar Colazo dominate
in his fight. De Kade is super talented. But what
I'm here to talk to you about today is the
triangle of fights that we are gonna have to wade
through no pun intended between Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and
(00:23):
Roly Romero. This is an interesting little trifecta build up
that we have where Roly and Ryan already fought. We
saw that didn't go well for Ryan rely became world champ.
Ryan gets his WBC belt versus Mario Barrios. Devin Haney
comes back after the Ryan fight, wins a fight, then
beats Brian Norman Junion.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
For his belt.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
So all three guys holding belts now and we have
an old Texas Western standoff. Who's gonna flinch first? Well,
we thought it was gonna be Ryan Garcia Devin Haney.
That was gonna be the rematch. That's the biggest fight
potentially you can make in boxing, especially in American boxing
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
But hold on there kiddo.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
That doesn't look like it's gonna happen because for whatever reason,
boxing just can't figure its shit out, and not to
even act like this is a bad idea, but Devin
Haney and Bill Haney are looking at Roly Romero and
saying we want that fight next. They want to unify
with Roly championship instead of taking the Ryan fight first.
Either they think they can beat Roly and Ryan. I
(01:23):
might as well get three belts unify the division or
two paydays. I don't know, but damn it, I wanted
to see Devin and Ryan first.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It looks like, though.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Again this may be breaking news by the time it
comes out. This will be out on Monday, so this
may already be official by this point, but it's looking
like Devin Haney is gonna fight Roly Romero on May
thirtieth in Las Vegas probably MGM Grand and Bill Haney
kind of confirmed it, along with some thoughts from Roly
Romero and from Oscar de la Hoya. By the way,
(01:55):
big shouts to fight Hub Marcos and the guys fight
hype as well for the footage. But let's take a
look at this stuff and see what is going on.
What what is gonna happen in this trifecta fights? Is
it gonna be Devin and Roly Romero? First May thirtieth?
That's looking like it's damn near official. And honestly, by
the time you guys see this video, we may have
an announcement. But if we don't, let's get into the breakdown.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Let's go. He is the star of waid concept can comments.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I'm here with Bill Haney outside the Mike Tyson Invitational.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Bill, how's it going?
Speaker 4 (02:25):
You know what it is, and you know who I'm
here for and who I'm here with? You here will
rematch his own in a few short hours.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
What's on?
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Were fighting number number sixteen? I think it fight at
six pm?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Six pm. Hey, So it's a fun, little interesting, uh
meta rivalry going on. With the Ryan Garcia and Devin
Haney rivalry. We have Devin's little brother and Ryan's cousin
are fighting each other. They fought each other a couple
of weeks ago in the Amateurs and Ryan's cousin won.
People were calling it a robbery. They were saying he
shouldn't have won. Ryan was talking on Twitter and then
(03:01):
they rematch last night. This is this video is from yesterday,
and Devin Haney's a little brother one and so now
it's one one between them and they want to go
for the trilogy. Ryan and Devin want to run it
back for their rematch. This rivalry just makes all the
sense in the world. Family ties everything, which is why
we should be doing Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia right now.
(03:23):
But nevertheless, boxing will be boxing, and Devon's going to
try to prioritize the business of getting two fights two
paydays because the Ryan fight will always be there. I
get that, but it just feels like the right time
to pull the trigger. By the way, I love the
debo Devin Haney shirt. But yeah, this has been a
cool little story. And by the way, to Mike Tyson Invitational,
it's really good for the sport, you know, Mike Tyson
(03:45):
and whoever is managing him putting on these amateur tournaments.
It's pretty cool, you know, and it does highlight the
sport a little more, and boxing always needs that new
infuse of like highlight exposure whatever to show evil, you know,
especially in America, that this sport hopefully can come back
to being on the rise.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I seen the video and the chat online as you
were ride last time, right, So now we.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Got the rematch. What's gonna happen?
Speaker 3 (04:10):
You know, I'm gonna go in there and I'm gonna
leave no doubt this time, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
So you gonna stop him.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
I'm gonna try.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
So even if it doesn't come, I'm na I'm gonna
live by great mom slide.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Like put him on them.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Everybody listen, tune in Blive one for soul, Mike Tyson
inputation doing everything to bring the sport back for the
kids and everything. Look, it's amazing, Vin and we're ready
to stalk. Can go hey real quick. Rawley was here
last night. It's not about Rowan, what it is about
Roadie comes definitely gonna put it on his ass. May
thirty first, Lost Bags.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
You heard it from me? Okay, there you go.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
May thirty first, which is not the right date, by
the way, It's supposed to be May thirtieth. I'm pretty
sure the thirty versus Sunday. But May thirtieth, Las Vegas
probably again MGM Grand Devin Haney, Roly Romero essentially can
there by Bill Haney again newsworthy because Bill is saying
stuff all the time, but he is Devon's manager and
coach coming out and saying it, but it isn't official.
(05:10):
I just think that fight's the one they're angling for.
I think that's the one that contracts have gone out for.
And the reason I say that is because Roly Romero
was also in Vegas last night and he was talking
about the Devin Haney fight.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
You know, is there any update on a potential fight
with Devin Haty no matter what time gone. Yeah, it
appears that it's been about a week and they still
haven't signed up back. So they got a contract. It's
been a week now, signature now, signature? Is he running?
(05:47):
Is he scared? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
One time will tell, but I'll tell you.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Like that he said in himself, we said him a
fair ball offer.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
I don't know what's the big delay?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
You know, you say, you know, I might pick a
little while to read them big words in that contract.
So when you say favorable, all for how favorable or
he's setting himself as.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
He said it, with a great offer at bird and
he did not say anything bad about the offer.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Good right, it sounds like he should just sign it
then if it's a great offer.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Yeah, we were know it's looking like it might get
done May thirtieth here in about Vegas.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Okay, that's both sides, even though Roly is you know,
waiting on them to side. Apparently it hasn't been signed yet,
but he also said that contracts are out, so that's
another positive indication that this is potentially going to happen.
But he also says the same date in the same location.
This is all formulating to be right up to the
finish line. And I know in boxing, nothing's ever finished
(06:50):
until it's officially signed, and really until guys get in
the ring. But knock on wood, I think this is
going to be the fight we see on May thirtieth,
and listen, it's a good fight.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
It's a unification. It is an.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Interesting style matchup where Roly is very aggressive and he
will walk forward and throw heavy punches. He walked forward
on Davonte and and you know, had a lot of
success before obviously being knocked out, but he's walked forward
in a lot of his fights and taking the fight
to people. Sometimes that plays right into Devin Haightes hands.
He can use his feet, he can jab, he can
(07:22):
move and eventually, you know, out box you or put
you in the center of the ring and then implement
his offense, even get a little bit aggressive himself, as
we saw in the Brian Norman junior fights. So these
are things that make the fight interesting, but also there's
the backstory of what happens with the winner. Let's say
that I assume it can be considered an upset. Let's say,
(07:43):
really one, do you have the Rollie and Ryan rematch
for three of the belts at one forty seven?
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Do you have Ryan and Devin? Anyway, if Devin.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Loses that, this is why these these speed bumps before
you get to the fight that's the biggest in the
sport or one of the biggest in the sport with
Devon and Ron can cause a problem.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
And again, obviously the Hanes.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Don't care if it's Roly or Ryan or who else.
They're gonna do what's best for them. But I'm just
saying is he's tough to deal with. He's got big
power in his hands, strong guy. I know that Brian
Orman Jr. Was the same, And you better have boxing ability.
And by the way, this is off topic, but this
whole Clarissa Shield saying she can knock out Roly and
(08:24):
beat Roly nonsense needs to stop. It's absolutely delusional. She's
absolutely delusional.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Is there a male champion, regardless of weight yep, that
you believe you can I'd be Roly. He's the world champion.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I think Roly is very unorthodox.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
He's very strong, right, but I'm way tall to him,
way longer than him, and got better boxing skills.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
The guy that Roly knocked out knocked her down and sparring,
and she blamed it on the no padding in the gloves,
and even though she had headgear on and they were
probably sixteen ounce gloves, she still hit the canvas. Stop
that nonsense. Just stop it. Clarissa's not knocked out Roly
or any top level fighter, male fighter in the world.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
It's not happening. So just to address that.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
But then we go to Oscar dala Hoya for his
thoughts here, and I want to hear what he said
about the fight because I kind of agree with Oscar here.
I don't think that Devin Haney and Roly should be
fighting next. It should be Devin Haney Ryan Garcia because
it makes all the sense.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
In the world. The rivalry needs it. They both have belts.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
You don't want to risk one losing it, and you
get that answer to was the first fight influenced by
anything outside of the ring?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Was the first fight a fluke for Ryan Garcia? Was
it a true win? You get all those answers, But
like that, sup was gonna happen next?
Speaker 4 (09:41):
About Devin Haney And it's that claiming that the Ryan
rematches somewhat negotiated or you're done for or no update yet,
no official update, but if you asked me personally, that's
the fight that should happen next.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah, I think I think Devin Haney proved. I think
Devin Haney proved.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I think he proved he he deserves the fight, So
I think Ryan Devon should be Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
It looks like Rollie's.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Could uh take the Devon fight from you?
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Guys?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Have you have you seen that?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
It's I don't know, Rollie seems to have said that
pretty much a fight already locked in with Devin for.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
The end of.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Good for him, good for him, Hey, he'd.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Be Ryan.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Ryan B. Devon.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I mean it's I called I called for a round
robin right there.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
I mean, right, that's how that's why you do it.
Back in the days, you know, the best fight in
the ad appreciate.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Oscar kind of nails it there, like, what are you
gonna say, You're gonna be mad at Roly for wanting
to fight Devon, for wanting to fight Ryan, for wanting.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
To fight all these guys.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Roly, it feels like it's almost the guy that's been
left out of all these conversations. Even though he stepped
in the ring and beat Ryan, that automatically not only
gives him that world title they fought for, but gives
him the right to be in that conversation.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
It's just.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I want to see selfishly the rematch happened first, But
that's just me. But the rumored rematch for Ryan and Devon,
should it go down, is supposed to be allegedly on
September fifth of this year, so that would have Roly
and Devon fighting May thirtieth. You have July, you have June, July,
August to heal up potentially and get ready for Ryan. Meanwhile,
(11:35):
I assume Ryan would stay on the couch, not fight
anyone in the meantime from now all the way up
until September, which would be the smart move. Heal up,
evaluate the fight with Devon and Roly, and see what
happens there. But then yesterday you had Ryan Garcia and
(11:56):
key Shane He's Sean Davis facing off at the club.
They were both in Miami, it seems like at the time,
but they're doing their face off. Ryan had also said
he wanted to fight Shaquar Stevenson. The only problem here
is if Keishaan and Ryan fight, and if they were
(12:17):
going to do it, they would do it in the
middle of the year too, right, They would do it
right in the middle of the summer. And I know
that Ryan is down to do something like this. If
that happens and Devin fights Rollie, I'm saying the percentage
we get Devin versus Ryan goes down exponentially one because
I very much value the skill level and talent of
(12:38):
Kishan Davis, but also I value his punching power. I've
seen Richard Torrez, who's a heavyweight olympian here in the
United States, say that Keyshon Davis punches like a heavyweight.
We know that Ryan is electric and he can punch,
but Kishan, with his last performance, he's back on track.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
I don't want to see Ryan in there with key
Sean Davis.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
If I want to see Devin and Ryan fight again,
because that's a dangerous, dangerous fight, more so to me
than the Roly fight.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Is for Devin. But I'm not gonna lie. I'd watch
the fight.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
It's entertaining, it's interesting, but I don't know if that's
the right career path for Ryan. And it wouldn't even
be ducking he Shan would have to come to forty seven.
It's not like he has a you know, mainstay at
forty seven there yet he just got to forty.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
So again, I don't want to muddy the waters here.
That's the whole point.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
I don't want to muddy the waters for Ryan and Devin.
But at the same time, I also want the best
fighting the best in the sport. So I can't be
mad if Devin and Roly do it on May thirtieth.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
In fact, I would be.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Entertained and intrigued by that fight, just because Roly seems
to be the one guy that has all the answers here,
you know, after he's had a couple of slip ups
in his career too. But that's how we bring boxing back, right.
We don't just hide everyone away and wait for the
one big matchup. You start letting go of a loss
means end of career, and these kind of things are enjoyable.
You have guys like Roly, who you know, he lost
(13:54):
to hit Bull Cruise, and you don't expect him to
lose that fight, especially after some of the performances Pit
has had after that. But his only other loss, it's
Dravonte Davis, and all of a sudden really gets back
to the belt and now he's making decisions and he's
becoming a bigger and bigger name by being in these
conversations with Devon.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
And beating Ryan. You have Ryan with.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
His two losses, it seems like it doesn't affect him
at all. You have Devn obviously the loss to Ryan
that got expunged, but we all saw what happened there.
But then he comes back and he's got multiple division
world champions and he's a multiple division world champ, and
now he's at forty seven and he becomes a champ again.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
These things are great for the sports.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
So I'm we're in an embarrassment of riches if this
all gets done. I just hope that none of it
detracts from one day us getting Ryan versus Devin, whether
that's September fifth, later this year, or any other time.
I'd rather have it sooner than later. But that's where
we stand and listen. All the fights will be entertaining.
Like I said, it'd be entertaining to watch Roley and
(14:53):
Ryan again. It'd be entertaining to watch Ryan and Devon.
It'd be entertaining to watch Ryan and key Sean, Devin
and Roly, Devin and Keishaan. That's another fight that Keishan
has been saying he wants is a Devin Haney fight.
So all these things potentially can happen. And as I'm speaking,
Ryan Garcia wants to go on the Joe Rogan podcast.
I don't know if that's gonna happen anytime soon, but
(15:14):
if it does, that'd be sick because Ryan's got a
pretty cool story to tell and he's a very unique individual.
Let's say that. Oh, Ryan's on a tweet fest today.
He said when I fight Haney again, he will never
touch the ring after that.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
That's a promise.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Let's sign up for Vada and sign for a fight
now and put a date on it.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
See this is what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Dude's there's so much more here for me, hype wise,
intrigue wise than there is for Devin and Roly and
it's no disrespect to really.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
I love really, but this is the fight, man, This
is the fight. It's the one we need. I still
don't know why.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
The green circle has like Devon has the green circle
for his profile picture. The strangest thing is how Sean
Haney knew about the test before. Anyone will always be
a stained to their plans. He always says a La
told him or whatever he said. Nih, little bro, you
talk too much at a time. Your whole family are
some bitch made humans. Your bro, HAINI can't save you.
(16:09):
Remember I said that. Now I'm here, it's over, HAINI
calmed down. Uh, you said it was Sean Haiti, Victor
kante Vada, your streat coach, Scooter, the vitamin companies and
all reality.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
It was you. That's why you.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Took punishment from the commission and didn't contest. And then
you have Devin saying Ryan can get it after Roly
in shalah. So yeah, man, I wish that fight was
happening next, but it seems.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
We got Roly and Devin before that. And I'm not
mad about it. I just I don't want to let
a good thing go to waste.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Maybe that fight will always be there, you guys, let
me know in the comments.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
But this is good for boxing.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Good stuff always happening in the sport means that the
sport is churning along and becoming better and better. Better matchups,
bigger names, bigger moments, and ultimately a prize for the fans.
You guys, let me know what you think about the
Devinly fight. Will we get Devin and Ryan at the
end of the year or in the fall in September.
(17:05):
I don't have any of those answers, but twenty twenty
six starting off with a bang, so I guess we'll
find out
