a look at UFC three twenty six. We're back on
the MMA coverage because this is a major card and
involves two major players that I think could be in
for a rid pansy nooy. That's Roy Connor McGregor is
coming back sometime in the summer. In the winter. In
my opinion of this main event between Max Holloway and

Charles Lavera, they may have a shot at getting that
Connor McGregor fight. And I'm gonna tell you why. After
we predict all of the fights on the main card
in some of the prelimbs and break down, you have
C three twenty six, what happens this Saturday the breakdown,
let's go well, you know what, let's just go through
the main car. We'll predict them all and then we'll

get into the main So to start off, I have
to do it just because he's my boy. I'm taking
Cody Garbrand at the right page of thirty four. Who knew.
I mean, that's just how time works. At a certain point,
Time's gonna catch up with us all. And Cody went
from the twenty I think twenty four to twenty five
year old, maybe twenty six, I don't exactly know. But

world champion in the bantamweight division to now the old
I mean he was undefeated, couldn't be touched, gets the
belt and just had a fall off worse than my
YouTube channel. But it's still Cody Garbrant and it's still
real to me. Damn it all right, I want to
see the best version of Cody show up. He hasn't,
like I said, it hasn't gone well for him lately,
gotten beaten in two fights, I mean one against Brian Keller,

but that's to be expected. So he's he's, you know,
coming off a two fight losing streak, kind a bunch
of fights canceled, was on a losing streak before that.
But yeah, here we are in the big twenty twenty
six and Cody Garbrandt, thirty four years of age, takes
on long shoo. Who I want to see more about?

Jou or Jao Long, although I know is his reaches

want to see a knockout from Cody one time, for
the once, for the boys to take us back to

twenty sixteen again, So hopefully Cody can turn the clock

because I haven't been as balls deep in MMA as
I maybe it should have been. Over the last couple
of years. Have been you know, very much into the
boxing game. But that doesn't mean that I don't want
to see some banger fights, and then I may not
be clued in on some people that can rise from
this prelim card and uh yeah, so if I'm missing anybody,

let me know. But we're gonna move to the main card.
RoboCop taking on Bruno Fajeda, and by by just proxy
of RoboCop being on a car anytime he's on a card,
I pick him. I'll take RoboCop in a third round
stoppage TKO. Dude, not much else really to put there.
Don't know a ton about Bruno Fada, but I'm taking
robo Cop. Drew Dover, Michael Johnson didn't. Michael Johnson just

upset Zell hub who got upset again after that. Yeah,
I had the decision over Zel Huber. He's been upset
a bunch of times. Itman got the okay. Michael Johnson
on a bit of a streak here his last loss
to Diego Faeda. He's on a three fight win streak
coming into twenty twenty six. And Drew Doover thirty seven. Man.
Drewdover been around for a long time, and he can

throw some hammers. Dude. He's been in there with some
of the best, some of the up and coming class,
some of the best of his class. But I love
watching Michael Johnson fight Drewdover, strong guy, gonna stick his
nose in there. Got a chin that's made of iron,
or at least it was. It's thirty seven now taking
a lot of punches, I'm gonna take Michael Johnson here.
Even at thirty nine, he still got some of the
fastest hands in the UFC. Now, if this turns into
(03:55):
a grappling contest and Drew Dover strong guy, I would
say a bit more of a graping base, even though
he doesn't really like to use it. But he walks
through a lot of attacks, walks through a lot of punches,
walks through a lot of damage to get to his target.
And I think Michael Johnson's a guy you just can't
walk through the punches and walk through the damage. He's
gonna catch you at some point. I'm taking Michael Johnson.
I'm taking my stoppage. I think Dred Dober's chin might
(04:16):
be compromised after taking so much punishment throughout his career.
He'll take Michael Johnson. Rob Font, Raoul Roses Junior, Rob
Font part of the what do they call him? The
New England Cartel? New England Cartel Rob Font? Who else
was up? There's three guys I can't remember now, but
Rob was was the main guy that came out of it. Oh,
Calvin Cator, somebody else. But Rob had again a bit
(04:38):
of an up and down last couple of years. Right,
He's had wins and losses, lost to some of the best,
beat the guys he should have beat, and that's kind
of been how it is. But if you're Raoul Ross Junior,
this is you know, you've been in the UFC since
what he was eighteen years old, and it's like now
it's time for him at twenty one to start leveling
up the competition, and this is a big jump up.

I will say Rob Font is a mass step up
from anybody that Raoul's face. So I'd never seen the
striking of Raoul Rosis Junior be anywhere near the level
of Rob Font, so I would advise him not to
get into an striking exchange and it might be a
little too much, too quick for the young guy. I'm
very interested to see how the fight plays out because
(05:18):
I don't know that Raoul's wrestling is very good either.
I know that his jiu jitsu is top level, but
the ability to get to the ground or either get
to his grappling from standing is gonna be a bit
of an issue for him. I think even if this
takes place in the boxing range, I think Rob is
gonna piece him up big time if it goes there.
So yeah, I would think Raoul tries to get to
the grappling, tries to get to the clinch, get his
(05:40):
hands on him and get him to the ground. If
that's the case, this could be a submission win for
Raoul rosis Junior. And like I said, every time Rob
has stepped up to the upper level of competition, the
Davis and Vigor Rados or I mean, even this David
Martinez fight was a bit of a shock. But when
he's had to go to that next level San Hagen's,
(06:01):
it's always resulted in a loss, but it has been
a decision lost in most cases. Now, again, these are
mostly strikers that you're seeing Rob lose to. But I
don't know how he'll handle the heavy, heavy grappling another striker.
And that's the thing. Striker striker strikers, a lot of
heavy strikers in the bantamweight division. Raoul presents a bit
of a different puzzle. That's interesting, that's a different, interesting

wrinkle there I think I'm gonna go Raoul Rosis Junior
by submission, just because I don't see anything on Rob
Font's resume that resembles, you know, a heavy grappling style
that he's had to deal with in a long time. Again,
none of the like Pettis, maybe Ricky Simone, but Marie
Pedro Muno's loses in a guillotine to Munoz, who is

probably the one of the better grapplers on his resume
that actually uses it. Yeah, I don't know. I'm going
Raoul Rosis. I just think the grappling that that Raoul has,
if he can get it hands on, I think that
could be the ultimate difference maker. Again, Rob could knock
him out and he could do it easily just because
of the boxing he possesses. But I'm sticking with Rol
Roasis junior submission win ROAs Junior. All right, Then we
(07:06):
move on Kyo Brahalo ryaner de Ridder. Interesting fight, very
very interesting fight. For a while, it looked like Kyo
was gonna almost walk himself into a title shot before
the v fight, and that didn't go his way at all.
Nazaradin is a absolute monster, but had some big wins.
Got the win over Cannon here got the win over
Craig and by the way, mcal he became fighting nerds

after this fight. Right, but Reiner de Ridder has played
spoiler for a lot of guys as well. Right for
the Brendon Allen fight, had played spoiler for Bo Nickel.
So very very interesting. You got Dutch kickboxing going against
essentially the freestyle fighting of Kyo. Good kickboxing, good grappling
when needed, but more heavy into the stand up. This
(07:51):
is just a grappling between him and Jason Almeta. Interesting.
Uh yeah, I think this will be an interesting fight.
I think this will be an interesting, interesting fight because
we do have Reiner coming off the loss and the
stoppage to Brendan Allen. I think that was a bit
of a shock to the system because Rdyr was looked
at as a potential world title contender and he still
could be. But I think Brendan Allen stopping him in
his tracks like that was was a big wake up
(08:12):
to potentially where he actually is. And again Kyo losing
in a five round decision that eam Evov but still
losing decisively in that fight. Do I know what the
odds are? Not that I'm picking off the odds, but
I do want to know what my odds look like here,
I do want to know what my odds look like.
Ryaner is plus two twenty to Kyo's minus two eighty. Yeah,
I'm man, that's kind of a crazy line. I feel
(08:35):
like minus two eighty to Kyo. Okay, well I was
leaning Kyo anyway, but no, I think I'll take Kyo
in a This is a three round fight, three rounder.
I'll take him in a decision. Again, though I don't
know both guys coming off five rounders. It changes things.
I think Kyle maybe can do enough with his feet,
with his striking, keep himself standing and yeah, I don't know.

It's a tough one. Though. It's a tough one because Lardyr.
You know again last fight got a wake up call.
But yeah, I'll take Kio decision. All right, let's go
main event time, our main event of the evening, Max Holloway,
Charles who Bronx Oliver or I assume this is for
the BMF. I didn't see that anywhere, But Max is
the BMF Charles fighting? Are they doing that for the BMF?

A is the BMF always on the line? I don't know,
but this is a big fight. Number one lightweight division
is still kind of open game, right you have Justin
Gatche and Armin Seruki and essentially fighting for that number
one spot. Everybody believes that Justin's gonna get the fight
with Ilia top Torto, but Armand's still there. But again,
the winner of this fight could potentially be right there
(09:36):
behind Arman if you wanted to move back in for
one more title opportunity. And let's not act like Charles
Levera didn't have Armond dead to rights this close to
losing that fight when the shorts came off and he
got out of the choke. I was a big deal.
And Charles is dangerous at all points in the fight
because of his submission game. And obviously you know Max
is a fantastic striker, Charles great striker. But out of
(09:58):
the two of them, Charles's hin starting to look more
and more suspect. He gets dropped, it feels like in
almost every fight nowadays, and he doesn't recover like he
used to. Used to get dropped, get back up and
whip your ass now, you know, getting dropped and staying
down Now again, Ilia knocked out Max as well, so
maybe that's just the crazy power in the hands of
Iliosa Poria. But I guess when I'm looking at this,
(10:19):
I look at the avenues to victory. Charles has potentially
more avenues to victory because he's I think, a better
all around fighter. Like his ground game is very very good,
but Max's takedown defense is so good. Charles doesn't initiate
a lot of takedowns more so like trying to pull
guard or potentially in scrambles get to something or just
lay down on the floor and invite you down. So
(10:40):
I again, Max, don't. I don't think unless he's hitting
heard by Charles is going to the ground with him
in the boxing, in the exchanges, Charles I think has
hit a lot more easily. But he does have that
crazy seventy four inch reach for a guy at five eight,
So even when they're in you know, boxing range, if
he can utilize the jab a little more like what
he ran into and it was a big problem in
the ill t A Poria fight, was he fought at
(11:01):
Ilia's range, like really close range boxing, which he's got
a seventy four inch reach. He got a good teap
to the stomach right, He's got great front kicks, why
would you why would you fight it on Ilia's terms?
And that's the question I'll ask here because the entire
build up between these two has been talking about, you know,
Max Holloway's pointing to the center and having the ten
second swing off and Charles' is like, I'll oblige it. Yeah,
(11:23):
let's do it. And I always am like, why that's
the one guy when he does the point you don't
say yes to? Look at who's done it and who
has it and who's been successful and who has it.
Ilio went, no, we're not doing that, and he out
boxed him and he fought him, and Max fought well
in that fight, but Iliot brought his fight to him
and eventually found it. Everybody else that wants to point
down there gets either ko like Justin gates Y, or
(11:45):
ends up fighting on Max's terms because they're ready for
the moment. Right. So I think if Charles you know,
utilizes the crazy reach he has, is able to get
to Max with the teaps, is able to keep himself
at range, this could be a very very interesting fight.
Max has shown he's got some power in his hands,
more so now at lightweight at the right you know,
(12:07):
coming up to lightweight, not the lightweight fight the first
time around with Poitier, but the second one where he
made Porier look like the old man that needed to
be taken out to pasture. And he's got crazy volume.
He'll overwhelm you. And let's not forget this is a
rematch between these two, and the first time around was
I think the biggest spot where Charles Olivera got that
(12:28):
moniker of being a quitter. Do you guys remember this
was all the way back in twenty fifteen. I don't
know what happened, if it was Charles's collarbone or something.
And this is not the I'm not has really nothing
to do with this fight, because I don't think Charles
is the same guy at all. I think he has
shed that idea of him being a quitter or whatever
years ago. Now, right, we all know since Charles got
the belt that mother is leone, right, he is the lion,

and he's shown time and time again he's willing to
fight anyone at everyone. But it does make me wonder
that in both of their minds. Yes, Charles obviously wants
to get that fight after essentially just quitting in the
first round, and again, I want to call him the
quitter because it could have been a collarbone issue. He
didn't finish the fight, but he got that Moniker then
and it followed him for a long long time up
until the you know, the twenty twenties when he really
(13:14):
made that title run. And this is, by the way,
how long ago these two have been in the UFC.
This is twenty fifteen. I'm talking about eleven years ago.
They were in the UFCS and they weren't even like
they were youngsters then. But they weren't youngsters youngsters that
was even two or three years before that. But yeah,
I think that Charles is gonna want to have some
payback on his mind. For sure. I think that Max
obviously wants to get back to one more chance at
(13:35):
Iliot Taporia because, let's be honest, he was having success
in that fight. He You could argue that Max won
a couple of the He could have been up two
to oh on ilia right one one, two oh. Regardless,
he was putting some damage on Iliyah, he was out
boxing him for a bit, he was striking with him well.
So Max still thinks I got a shot at the
lightweight title here with a win. And again, you know,
Illy is going to fight Justin Gaichee or Arman what
(13:58):
happens there. I think Armin's the worst matchup for everybody
in the division outside of Ilia, and even that fight
pretty damn interesting. But without that being said, I think
that in a fight where you don't want to see
anyone lose, there can only be one winner. And I
think as long as Max fights his fight. I know
the champion did have a name at one point and
it was Charles du Bronx Olavera, but I don't see
(14:20):
it going that way. I can see Max stopping Charles
again or winning a decision. I think Max does need
to be careful because at points during the Dustin Poarier fight,
Dustin jumped Gilly as Dustin does and didn't get it.
If Charles du Bronx jumps Gilly on you, or gets
to an ankle, or looks for submission, if there is
a scramble, if there is a clinch where he just

happens to lock his hands and here we go s
grip and he's not letting go, Charles is far more
dangerous with his grappling and his submission game than Dustin
ever thought of being. And if Dustin can get close,
Charles can seal the deal. So Max, like he did
in the first fight at least when it started, has
to be very aware of that, has to be again mobile,
high volume fighter through the five rounds. And I'm gonna

take Max either by stoppage as he wears Charles down
with the striking, and again Charles's chin not being what
it was, and that he invites a lot of the
close quarters boxing, which is why he got knocked out
with Ilia. He walks straight into range behind almost nothing,
and at thirty six years old, can you teach a
dog new tricks? Can you teach Charles to not want
to get close boxing range and slug it out even
(15:23):
behind the high guard. I mean, let's be honest, We're
in MMA, it's four ounce gloves. How much is the
high guard really gonna save you in those exchanges? I
just think Max Pepper's in with the jab, the low kicks,
the stomps on the knee, the teeps. Charles has his
own teaps, but I just think out of the two
of them, Max has got not the cleaner hands, but
the more aware striking offensively and defensively. And if Charles
can't get into some scrambles on Max. If he can't
(15:45):
land a takedown, if he can't get to underhook's in
the clinch, and and again maybe even try to pull guard,
then Max is gonna just gonna do a literal number
on him. Right, He's gonna continue running those numbers. That's
what I think. But I've been wrong a lot before,
so the waders might be to UFC three twenty six.

that actually uses it. Yeah, I don't know. I'm going
Raoul Rosis. I just think the grappling that that Raoul has,
if he can get it hands on, I think that
could be the ultimate difference maker. Again, Rob could knock
him out and he could do it easily just because
of the boxing he possesses. But I'm sticking with Rol
Roasis junior submission win ROAs Junior. All right, Then we

move on Kyo Brahalo ryaner de Ridder. Interesting fight, very
very interesting fight. For a while, it looked like Kyo
was gonna almost walk himself into a title shot before
the v fight, and that didn't go his way at all.
Nazaradin is a absolute monster, but had some big wins.
Got the win over Cannon here got the win over
Craig and by the way, mcal he became fighting nerds

after this fight. Right, but Reiner de Ridder has played
spoiler for a lot of guys as well. Right for
the Brendon Allen fight, had played spoiler for Bo Nickel.
So very very interesting. You got Dutch kickboxing going against
essentially the freestyle fighting of Kyo. Good kickboxing, good grappling
when needed, but more heavy into the stand up. This
(07:51):
is just a grappling between him and Jason Almeta. Interesting.
Uh yeah, I think this will be an interesting fight.
I think this will be an interesting, interesting fight because
we do have Reiner coming off the loss and the
stoppage to Brendan Allen. I think that was a bit
of a shock to the system because Rdyr was looked
at as a potential world title contender and he still
could be. But I think Brendan Allen stopping him in
his tracks like that was was a big wake up
(08:12):
to potentially where he actually is. And again Kyo losing
in a five round decision that eam Evov but still
losing decisively in that fight. Do I know what the
odds are? Not that I'm picking off the odds, but
I do want to know what my odds look like here,
I do want to know what my odds look like.
Ryaner is plus two twenty to Kyo's minus two eighty. Yeah,
I'm man, that's kind of a crazy line. I feel
(08:35):
like minus two eighty to Kyo. Okay, well I was
leaning Kyo anyway, but no, I think I'll take Kyo
in a This is a three round fight, three rounder.
I'll take him in a decision. Again, though I don't
know both guys coming off five rounders. It changes things.
I think Kyle maybe can do enough with his feet,
with his striking, keep himself standing and yeah, I don't know.

It's a tough one. Though. It's a tough one because Lardyr.
You know again last fight got a wake up call.
But yeah, I'll take Kio decision. All right, let's go
main event time, our main event of the evening, Max Holloway,
Charles who Bronx Oliver or I assume this is for
the BMF. I didn't see that anywhere, But Max is
the BMF Charles fighting? Are they doing that for the BMF?

A is the BMF always on the line? I don't know,
but this is a big fight. Number one lightweight division
is still kind of open game, right you have Justin
Gatche and Armin Seruki and essentially fighting for that number
one spot. Everybody believes that Justin's gonna get the fight
with Ilia top Torto, but Armand's still there. But again,
the winner of this fight could potentially be right there
(09:36):
behind Arman if you wanted to move back in for
one more title opportunity. And let's not act like Charles
Levera didn't have Armond dead to rights this close to
losing that fight when the shorts came off and he
got out of the choke. I was a big deal.
And Charles is dangerous at all points in the fight
because of his submission game. And obviously you know Max
is a fantastic striker, Charles great striker. But out of
(09:58):
the two of them, Charles's hin starting to look more
and more suspect. He gets dropped, it feels like in
almost every fight nowadays, and he doesn't recover like he
used to. Used to get dropped, get back up and
whip your ass now, you know, getting dropped and staying
down Now again, Ilia knocked out Max as well, so
maybe that's just the crazy power in the hands of
Iliosa Poria. But I guess when I'm looking at this,
(10:19):
I look at the avenues to victory. Charles has potentially
more avenues to victory because he's I think, a better
all around fighter. Like his ground game is very very good,
but Max's takedown defense is so good. Charles doesn't initiate
a lot of takedowns more so like trying to pull
guard or potentially in scrambles get to something or just
lay down on the floor and invite you down. So
(10:40):
I again, Max, don't. I don't think unless he's hitting
heard by Charles is going to the ground with him
in the boxing, in the exchanges, Charles I think has
hit a lot more easily. But he does have that
crazy seventy four inch reach for a guy at five eight,
So even when they're in you know, boxing range, if
he can utilize the jab a little more like what
he ran into and it was a big problem in
the ill t A Poria fight, was he fought at
(11:01):
Ilia's range, like really close range boxing, which he's got
a seventy four inch reach. He got a good teap
to the stomach right, He's got great front kicks, why
would you why would you fight it on Ilia's terms?
And that's the question I'll ask here because the entire
build up between these two has been talking about, you know,
Max Holloway's pointing to the center and having the ten
second swing off and Charles' is like, I'll oblige it. Yeah,
(11:23):
let's do it. And I always am like, why that's
the one guy when he does the point you don't
say yes to? Look at who's done it and who
has it and who's been successful and who has it.
Ilio went, no, we're not doing that, and he out
boxed him and he fought him, and Max fought well
in that fight, but Iliot brought his fight to him
and eventually found it. Everybody else that wants to point
down there gets either ko like Justin gates Y, or
(11:45):
ends up fighting on Max's terms because they're ready for
the moment. Right. So I think if Charles you know,
utilizes the crazy reach he has, is able to get
to Max with the teaps, is able to keep himself
at range, this could be a very very interesting fight.
Max has shown he's got some power in his hands,
more so now at lightweight at the right you know,
(12:07):
coming up to lightweight, not the lightweight fight the first
time around with Poitier, but the second one where he
made Porier look like the old man that needed to
be taken out to pasture. And he's got crazy volume.
He'll overwhelm you. And let's not forget this is a
rematch between these two, and the first time around was
I think the biggest spot where Charles Olivera got that
(12:28):
moniker of being a quitter. Do you guys remember this
was all the way back in twenty fifteen. I don't
know what happened, if it was Charles's collarbone or something.
And this is not the I'm not has really nothing
to do with this fight, because I don't think Charles
is the same guy at all. I think he has
shed that idea of him being a quitter or whatever
years ago. Now, right, we all know since Charles got
the belt that mother is leone, right, he is the lion,
(12:51):
and he's shown time and time again he's willing to
fight anyone at everyone. But it does make me wonder
that in both of their minds. Yes, Charles obviously wants
to get that fight after essentially just quitting in the
first round, and again, I want to call him the
quitter because it could have been a collarbone issue. He
didn't finish the fight, but he got that Moniker then
and it followed him for a long long time up
until the you know, the twenty twenties when he really
(13:14):
made that title run. And this is, by the way,
how long ago these two have been in the UFC.
This is twenty fifteen. I'm talking about eleven years ago.
They were in the UFCS and they weren't even like
they were youngsters then. But they weren't youngsters youngsters that
was even two or three years before that. But yeah,
I think that Charles is gonna want to have some
payback on his mind. For sure. I think that Max
obviously wants to get back to one more chance at
(13:35):
Iliot Taporia because, let's be honest, he was having success
in that fight. He You could argue that Max won
a couple of the He could have been up two
to oh on ilia right one one, two oh. Regardless,
he was putting some damage on Iliyah, he was out
boxing him for a bit, he was striking with him well.
So Max still thinks I got a shot at the
lightweight title here with a win. And again, you know,
Illy is going to fight Justin Gaichee or Arman what
(13:58):
happens there. I think Armin's the worst matchup for everybody
in the division outside of Ilia, and even that fight
pretty damn interesting. But without that being said, I think
that in a fight where you don't want to see
anyone lose, there can only be one winner. And I
think as long as Max fights his fight. I know
the champion did have a name at one point and
it was Charles du Bronx Olavera, but I don't see
(14:20):
it going that way. I can see Max stopping Charles
again or winning a decision. I think Max does need
to be careful because at points during the Dustin Poarier fight,
Dustin jumped Gilly as Dustin does and didn't get it.
If Charles du Bronx jumps Gilly on you, or gets
to an ankle, or looks for submission, if there is
a scramble, if there is a clinch where he just
(14:41):
happens to lock his hands and here we go s
grip and he's not letting go, Charles is far more
dangerous with his grappling and his submission game than Dustin
ever thought of being. And if Dustin can get close,
Charles can seal the deal. So Max, like he did
in the first fight at least when it started, has
to be very aware of that, has to be again mobile,
high volume fighter through the five rounds. And I'm gonna
(15:02):
take Max either by stoppage as he wears Charles down
with the striking, and again Charles's chin not being what
it was, and that he invites a lot of the
close quarters boxing, which is why he got knocked out
with Ilia. He walks straight into range behind almost nothing,
and at thirty six years old, can you teach a
dog new tricks? Can you teach Charles to not want
to get close boxing range and slug it out even
(15:23):
behind the high guard. I mean, let's be honest, We're
in MMA, it's four ounce gloves. How much is the
high guard really gonna save you in those exchanges? I
just think Max Pepper's in with the jab, the low kicks,
the stomps on the knee, the teeps. Charles has his
own teaps, but I just think out of the two
of them, Max has got not the cleaner hands, but
the more aware striking offensively and defensively. And if Charles
can't get into some scrambles on Max. If he can't
(15:45):
land a takedown, if he can't get to underhook's in
the clinch, and and again maybe even try to pull guard,
then Max is gonna just gonna do a literal number
on him. Right, He's gonna continue running those numbers. That's
what I think. But I've been wrong a lot before,
so the waders might be to UFC three twenty six.
