Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, So we are back on the way concept
presented by the Ring magazine and folks. Man down the hatches,
strap yourselves in, because we are on a collision course.
For Ryan Garcia versus Devin Hani two. The rematch is
upon us and it was one of the biggest fights
of the year when it happened the first time, not
only because of what happened in the ring, not only
(00:20):
because of the build up to what happened in the ring,
but because of the fallout after the fight and the
ostereene and the question marks and the scrubbed record and
the no contests and the year suspension and all of
that just for these two to win world championships at
welterweight and come back to the doorstep both of them
(00:41):
knocking on the door saying I'm ready, let's run it.
And it's not official yet, but we have to talk
about why this fight. It could be the biggest fight
in boxing. If not, it's the biggest fight in American
boxing by far. Ryan Garcia Devin Hany two. I know
I said that I wanted to see Ryan and Shakur,
but this is even bigger. Why the breakdown? Let's go,
(01:04):
all right, So Ryan Garcia posted this poster yesterday on
his Twitter. Garcia Haney too, and all he said was
war has been declared, probably the worst way of phrasing
it with what's happening in the world currently right now.
But it's time for the rematch. And it's not just
him saying it. Devin Haney was on at his own
(01:26):
boxing show last night and had this to say.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
It's your way champion and a man in demand right
now in that division.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
But the man you said you want is Ryan Garcia.
Is that the fight that you're looking for next?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, I mean has a storyline, has a bad blood,
it's a unification now and that's a big it's the
biggest fight in boxing. So it's a perfect fight to
be made, and right now is the time.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
What did you think of Ryan's performance?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I thought Ryan did what he was a post suit.
I beg he would do that against Mario Barrios. Mario
Barrios is uh it was that perfect protag for Ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
He thinks to be different with you second time around.
Definitely appreciate that there he is. Uh So, yeah, he's right,
And I didn't want to put it out there after
Ryan's win just because you know, you don't want to
hype yourself up for something and then get let down.
And that may be what I'm doing right now. This
may not even happen. We may get Devin going off
(02:19):
and fighting somebody else, you know, a Crocker or somebody.
We may get Ryan fighting Chaquor or who knows who, right,
But I don't want that to happen. I want this
to happen, and I don't think we need to have it.
You know, Ryan Shaquor and this one just well, it'll
always be there. We've said the same thing in boxing
for years about fights we want to see, Well, that
doesn't need a bell, it'll always be there. That that's
(02:40):
a that's a big name marquee matchup, it doesn't need
a bell. It'll be there years later, and years later
we get it, and it's not the two guys in
their primes, and unfortunately it was it what it should
have been. This already happened once. Yes, Ryan purposely missed weight.
He was tested positive for peds. Regardless if you think
he did it on purpose or not, that's what happened.
And he did have PD's in his system, and he
(03:02):
wiped the floor with Devon. I mean completely beat him up,
and Devin had moments in the fight, but Ryan exposed
the chin, he exposed the weakness to the left hook.
He again, he kind of beat him pillar to post.
And Ryan didn't look like he was in the greatest
of boxing shape. I know, people are like, look at
his muscles. He was in shape. The difference between having
muscles and being in boxing shape. Look at him versus Rolli.
(03:23):
That's Ryan in boxing shape. Now, after that, Ryan gets
the suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission. Obviously,
the wind becomes a no contest. Ryan was not even
able to win the belt at forty because he missed Wait,
but regardless, that's stuck in our minds, right, It's stuck
in our minds that Ryan Garcia did that to Devin
Handy when no one maybe some people, but not many
(03:45):
people thought that was possible, even though they went three
and three in the Amateurs. Even though Ryan believed it,
most of us didn't. And he proved a lot of
us wrong, at least in the ring. Now, since then,
the Haines have said, listen, that's because you were on
the sauce and because you purposely misswag and we weren't
our best that night. You know, there's been the I
want to say excuses, but kind of the explanations, let's
(04:07):
put it that way. And Ryan lost a role in
his return fight and kind of blew up that rematch
that was probably supposed to happen after that if Ryan
would have got a hold of the WBA belt. But
now that doesn't matter because both guys are champions unifying
on the line, and they've been going back and forth
on Twitter the last couple of days. It's been pretty crazy,
so let's get into it. We have Ryan first off saying, heiny,
(04:30):
if it's time to end you, it's time you will
be erased. I heard you speak in my name. If
this is what you want, let's start discussions. Mark my words,
You'll never fight again after this, So let that sink
in and accept it before you say yes, not just hey,
I'm gonna smoke you again. Hey, you're not on my level.
(04:50):
I'm gonna beat you pillow At a post, he said,
I'm going to beat you so bad you never fight again.
I'm going to erase you. That's the confidence level Ryan
Garcia is coming in. Is that because of his performance
versus Mario Barrios, or the performance versus Devin Haney, or
just a combination of knowing what he did in the
Hainy fight and knowing how much better he's gotten since.
I don't know, but that's what he said. Haini responded with,
(05:12):
let's start our Vona testing so he can make the
biggest fight in boxing.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
I don't know of anybody that starts I mean, Vona
testing can be done year round, but I don't know
if anybody that starts testing if they're not in the
pool before a fight gets made. That's kind of crazy
fair play. Devon seems to be on board. Ryan then
comes with the poster. Then Devin retweets the poster, so
they're working here, right, They're on the same page. And
(05:36):
Cop my man, Cop says mega fight, and Ryan says, fans,
if you really want to see this Haini fight, demand
it with everything. I'll do it next, but I need
the intensity. I mean, listen, we're getting views on these posts,
one hundred kviews, six hundred kus, five hundred kviews, Like
people want this fight, no doubt about it, Fight of
the summer, one hundred percent. We agree, Ryan said, start now,
no worries so they're going back and forth on the
(05:58):
VADA stuff. Then Ryan said, Devin, literally, they're clearly letting
the fear get to him. He's delusional. In what world
does he think he has a say? In his heart?
He knows he lost that fight because I'm the better fighter,
and he can't get himself to be truthful to himself
about our fight. Probably won't happen because he's a bitch.
There's no other excuse. If you are so sure you
(06:20):
would have won, you should take the fight. You won't
because you're a bit simple. Knocked you down three times.
The next time you get dropped, you'll wake up connected
to an IV and doctor's monitoring you. Damn again, Ryan
is he's going cutthroat here? He's going cutthroat. Also, Ryan said, hey,
he doesn't understand he's B side now, Just like when
(06:40):
Devin Haney was saying, uh, yeah, let's start VODA testing.
They're not even there's no contract nothing yet. So what
are we talking about? This idea that we have to
start talking about a side B side before we even
get to the fight. What the hell are we talking about?
Ryan already talking B side that haven't even started conversations.
I will say Ryan is far more popular than Devin
Haney is, and that's just the truth. You look at
it through fight numbers, you look at it through pay
(07:02):
per view sales, you look at it through social numbers.
Ryan pulls more eyeballs than Devin Haney. That's just the truth.
They're both champions now and Ryan won the last fight,
So again, no contest. Ryan was on you know pds,
not on purpose, on purpose, don't really care about that.
Ryan's THEA side. If we're talking about who is going
to pull in more viewers, go look at you know again,
(07:23):
Devin Haney, Brian Norman Junior. How many people watch that
versus how many people watch Ryan Garcia. M Mario Barrios.
I not to say that Devin is not worthy, and again,
on a championship level, he has done more in the sport,
point blank period. Devin has been the better fighter. He's
been undisputed champ, right, he has been a unified champ,
he has been multiple division champ. But when we're talking
about who's going to bring in more eyes, it's Ryan Garcia.
(07:46):
Ryan puts out that message saying you would wake up
with an IVY connected to you and doctor's monitoring you like.
That's not that. That's not saying I'm gonnaknock you out
and you're gonna wake up in the hospital. That's saying
you're gonna wake up after being in a coma crazy.
This is like the way Ryan was talking to him
after the before the first five manic Ryan type stuff.
Then he said, let's understand, you lost a Rollie one
fight ago. One fight ago, you weren't even ranked in
(08:08):
the division. But you DM and me talking about you're
the a side. I'm number one in the division and
on the pound for pound list. If you don't want
to fight, just say that. Stop trying to gaslight. Are
we really going to do this? Though? I hate this
stuff from both guys, talk about who's going to be
a side who gives us shit. Devin, for the most part,
takes on everybody. You have to give him his credit there.
Devin Haney will fight everyone. Ryan has fought a lot
of people too. Ryan doesn't seem like he ducks outside
(08:30):
of maybe you know Roly and I don't know what
happened with the Roly rematch. But Ryan wants this, Devon
wants this. Let's not let it slide because of who
got to be a side that's not I don't want that, dude.
Let's not hype this thing up and be like, no,
he didn't want it because he wanted to a side,
and I'm actually a who gives a shit? Make it
fifty to fifty, No A side, no B side, fifty
to fifty even. Let's go, dude, because we need moments
(08:52):
like this. Who remembers the chaos?
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Q doing? What to do? It? All? Right?
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Looking nice?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Okay, come through And I.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Don't know if Ryan Garcia you're taking a fight serious
or not.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Granted that was a selectively edited sit down with the Zone,
but it's the entire build up was insane. You couldn't
have scripted how crazy the trash talk between them was
and the animosity between them was. It was insane. Who
remembers this?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
You know my friend?
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Remember that you're not my friend. Remember that you're not
my friend.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Dad's a pancake, Your dad a pim He you I'm beat,
I'm ana beat you.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I'm gonna beat you. I'm gonna beat you. I'm aa
beat you. I'm aa beat you. I'm a beach.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
I'm breading everything you saw. You suck you saw already
know you whacked. Now Dad can talk for you. We
save everybody know you really your wha. That was why
I was whack. You saw, Bro, you saw you saw.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
This is crazy. This was insane.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
Saw.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's not like it's crazy good trash talk. They're just
calling each other whack. But you can tell both the like,
this is what real animosity looks like. This is a
manufactured This is two dudes that used to have a relationship.
You know, we're kind of close. Whatever fought in the amateurs,
a bunch that grew to absolutely hate each other. We've
seen that video with Tank, bet, Joe asked. Floyd showed me.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, Joe, as I mean this ship out of the video,
the video, I've seen the video.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
You ain't gonna do ship. You ain't gonna do ship.
You look like a closet right now. Bro, you look
like a ghost, he said.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
You know, I'll tell you we're gonna feel so good
you ain't talk about.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Don't run up on me because you know he's the
real fighter out of everybody. Shut the fuck up anyway,
(10:56):
Yea Love hit him with the Ryan roll. This is
the animosity I'm talking about. It was insane. It was
like ridiculous, But at the same time I loved every minute.
Remember this, I was like, where's your mom, bitch?
Speaker 4 (11:18):
So fun.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Insane disrespect that you're gonna get killed topping Bill.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Did Yeah, I said, yeah, yeah you can't Sopping know
it got real? Yeah got rill, It got real, It
got real. Yeah, it got real. It got real. Gon
(12:06):
eat a lot more. You can hit that camp this boy.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, yeah, it didn't work out that way, didn't man.
But again, you know, there there was uh you know,
the missing the way and the osyrien in the system.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
It is what it is.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
But this was this was the build up, man, This
this is what made us go, oh we need this fight.
This was one of the most interesting build ups in
the history of modern boxing, I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
And then of course Ryan is going back. He said, bro,
who are a costume to the media day? And then
Devin was responding about the fear getting to him. I
fear no one, and then he said, fear the Lord.
So now we got a holy war on our hands.
We got a religious battle. Don't know if we need
that right now because of everything going on. But then
Ryan says, my dad has been out coaching Bill since
the start, and we'll continue to do so. That's why
(12:53):
we always have the last laugh. I want to make
it clear I do want that fight next. If we
can figure this out point blank period?
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Was that?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I mean, if we could figure this out, figure it out, dude.
Oh and apparently one of Ryan's cousins beat Devin's the
Little Brother and the amateurs this weekend, so that happened. Yeah,
there shouldn't be anything else to figure out, honestly. And
then there was a back and forth between Ryan and
Bill as well. I think yeah, because Bill said, Hany
versus Garcia too right. He put it Garcia same foot,
(13:19):
Ryan's second, Bill's funniest shit done right. And then I
think Ryan responded, shut your pitch ass up. You know
you are somewhat aware, so be real and understand. You
just want that ass whooping again. My dad will out
coach you any day. You can't keep up. Bill said,
couldn't make weight. You were three pounds over, fake fat
boy and positive for PDS. Henry does a terrible job
(13:40):
with you as a person.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
That's why my cousin beats your terrible, lying, obnoxious son.
And Sean Haney, I think you spelled his name wrong.
Another Garcia High Desert robbery. Both your parents are amateur
judges slash referees, so you all love good hometown robberies.
We fought at your show against your fighter, crazy man Rakes,
though I dare to post the fight video, So yeah, man,
(14:04):
I mean again, you already see they haven't even signed anything.
Now again, trash talk is trash talk. But they haven't
even signed anything. They haven't even gotten into formal discussions,
and the animosity is right back where it was. This
fight has to happen, and honestly it should happen next
because they're both title holders. It makes the fight a
little bigger when there's a belt on the line, obviously,
(14:24):
but more so than that, we just want to see
what happens one at a different weight. We're talking one
forty seven this time around. Devon was I mean, he
looked like Ryan said to be fair, a ghost at
one hundred and forty pounds. He did not look good
in that weight cut, looked like he, you know, had
really had a hard cut. Then Ryan purposely doesn't make weight,
and then again just just the entire narrative around it,
(14:47):
like Ryan was not on Devon's level, YadA, YadA. Now
we find out no, he is now Devin though after
that loss shook the cobwebs, went out and got the
win versus Brian Norman got a win before that as well,
got Brian Norman down, got some confidence, sent himself again,
and of course Ryan did the same. After losing to Rolie,
he comes back drops Barrios in the first thirty seconds
and smokes him in twelve rounds. And just you know, again,
(15:09):
I don't really care about the A side stuff, but
if we're talking socials, it's not even close. We're talking
about the recaps on these things. You know, Devin's selling
sixty k pay per view, not great, but it doesn't
I mean again, these two together are the draw. Yes,
Ryan is a bigger draw by himself, but these two
together are the reason we want to do this, because
they're animosity, they're back and forth what we saw happen
(15:31):
in the first fight. And yes, quite frankly, you have
to include this when you're talking about it, that Ryan
did miss weight and it must have given him an
advantage because he purposely missed it. He didn't get to
one forty. Ryan clearly did have Osteren in his system
knowingly or not, that's what happened. So there are gonna
be questions about one, what would be different if he
didn't have that too, what would be different if he
(15:51):
had made weight? And three, what's different now that they
both get to have seven pounds of ex stro and
that they both have had a couple of fights under
their belt to shake the cobwebs. That night it was explosive,
It was insane. It was probably the most insane night
and a couple of weeks or months on boxing Twitter
that I've ever seen. And because of that, we need
to run it back. This is my pitch to make
(16:13):
Ryan Garcia versus Devin Haiti, and I say do it
in July, like or you know, sometime in that mid
May June July anywhere right there in the summer, like
into summertime, because boxing needs its own version of International
Fight Week, like the UFC has it, you know, and
they're gonna have I wouldn't run it against the UFC
because they're gonna have the White House event in late
June and they're probably gonna have Connor MacGregor fight in
(16:34):
early July. But somewhere around that, boxing having its international
fight data. Maybe a Sinko to Mayo fight, maybe a
little too close to right now, just because we're already
in March, but still fight of the summer. Ryan Garcia
Devin Haity to the rematch. I need it, I want it,
They want it. Belts on the line, unification. It just
makes sense boxing for once. Do the thing that makes sense.
(16:55):
Don't give us the run around, don't talk about east Side,
none of that fifty to fifty. Just do what makes
sense because both these guys in their prime, both these
guys already did it. There's a question mark still even
after we saw what happened in the fight, and we
need those answers. If you guys agree with me, let
me know down in the comments. And I'm already starting
to get that feel like we did that first time around,
(17:17):
where this build up and payoff is going to be
something like we have never seen before. That's just my opinion,
But you guys tell me what you think. What would
happen if Ryan and Devin rematched and will that fight
take place. I don't have those answers, but I really
hope so, and I guess we'll just hang out and
hope for the best. Because there's really no way to know,
(17:39):
so I guess we'll find out
