seven quadruple jumps. The most maybe anybody will do is
like four or five, and he does them the most

important thing really well. So he gets all of these
extra points from the grade of execution and the frequency.

twenty ten, and then in twenty fourteen I didn't make it,
and I felt like that was sort of like the
end of the road.

And then when I kind of like let it go,
I had a lot of friends that were medalists or
I had won the Eleempics and it was just like
they were still the same people. Wow. And I feel
like being able to let that go help me get

I think that he has such a gap technical between
everybody that he could even afford a few major mistakes.
The way the scoring works is like when the base
value of all of their jumps and they can gain
so many points on doing elements well. So if he
makes a mistake on a few, he's he's trying maybe
seven quadruple jumps. The most maybe anybody will do is
like four or five, and he does them the most
(37:20):
important thing really well. So he gets all of these
extra points from the grade of execution and the frequency.

It's like metal streep exactly. I was going to say
she could mess up all her lines. She could, she
could go, but basically she's going to slay the scene
where her daughter.

I do want to ask. I wanted to ask because
Terara Lepenskey was talking about this. It's like because as
you're talking about like these executions and like the the
elements and stuff like in terms of the scoring, like
Tara was talking about how like it is crazy conceptually
that like four minutes could change the course of things.

It could undo all the things that I love let
up to this moment for you since for four you know,
like since whenever you started figure skating, When did that
moment happened for you where you like let that go
finally like after you medal I'm.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Sure and no, I think it actually like when I
didn't make the Olympic team. I was an alternate in
twenty ten, and then in twenty fourteen I didn't make it,
and I felt like that was sort of like the
end of the road.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
And then when I kind of like let it go,
I had a lot of friends that were medalists or
I had won the Eleempics and it was just like
they were still the same people. Wow. And I feel
like being able to let that go help me get
to the Olympics and to be like really in the moment,
I was like the oldest first time Olympian since the
nineteen twenties.

You were twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (39:14):

It's just you have a different perspective. And I was
really grateful to be here and I just could enjoy
it more like there is nothing like the Olympics. And
I remember like about to start my program and I
was like, this is the only program I've ever done
where I'm almost sure Reese Witherspoon and Britney Spears are
watching it.
