I love the way you break the game down. L
A Man, you were jacking by my squad number two
overall ninety nine and plaques Man, you were seventy five
seven product. Ain't everybody who plaq was growing up around her?

Man free of the best to ever do it on
and off the field. Now live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios, here's pro bowlers LaVar Airy, test TJ Hushman,
Zanna and Silper Bowl champion Plaxico Burres.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
All right, welcome back in to up on Game. It's
our two of the show. Thanks for joining us in
our one. If you're just joining us now, welcome into
the show. Oh you missed us talking about football. I
know we didn't talk to soccer, but hey, that's what
I LOO is for. We gave it to Ilo, told

(01:07):
y'all about soccer. We're gonna talk round ball this hour,
but it ain't gonna be the soccer ball. It's going
to be that basketball. When you hear this. You know
who's coming in on the other side of it.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Now, it's time to check in with Cuffs the Legend
from some Dude Show podcast on Up on Game Presents,
Cuff says, giving you a spicy takes on what's going.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Down to take the heat like.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Lebron And now here's Cuffs the Legend.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
It's Cold Town.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Legend.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
All right, all right, as mentioned, when you hear the intro,
you know a voice you're going to hear next. It's
the man, it's the myth. Well it's even in his name,
it's Cuffs the Legend. He joins the show. Up one
game to hour two. We're gonna talk some basketball. How
you feeling, sir.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Man, I'm feeling good man. You know, it's happy Father's
Day to y'all. First off, you know, we don't get
a lot of credit. Indeed, we don't get a lot
of credit. You know. It's all we get is a
big piece of chicken. Like Chris Rock said, we only
getting a big piece of chicken.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Man.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
So shout out to y'all guys. Man, y'all doing a
good job raising me, y'all sons man. So, and also,
I just landed back home. We got the Carolina Hurricanes
parade going crazy in the city right now, So shout
out to my Hurricanes, man.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
What's out to that? I mean, well, let's let's talk
about it. The Knicks, I mean, this is I mean,
I've never seen anything like this. The way they are
in New York City right now. It's almost like, I
don't know, man, that that's this is like more like
world soccer type stuff. As many people have been out

(02:54):
in New York City, cy talk about how big of
a deal, Like it's my be the biggest deal in
terms of any one franchise winning at all.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Man.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I thought I thought the twenty sixteen Tabs had the
greatest parade I've ever seen, But I might be wrong
because I've never seen that many fans like in a
city at one time. I mean, we've seen people hanging
from live poles its way pack it was insane. So
I think, honestly, I feel like I'm really happy for

(03:28):
the Knicks fans because they've they've been through so much,
like fifty three years, fifty three.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Years, right, fifty three three yep.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Fifty three years of just mental anguish, laid down. Reggie
Miller's just snacking your heart out. You know what I'm saying.
To get to this point though, shout out to the fans. Man.
We've seen Joe, not Joe Budm, but Fat Joe and
all the different legendary New York rappers. They had their
own separate bus. I just think it's great for the
city man, and to keep it.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Rid with y'all.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I was always someone who I was it a Knicks fan.
My pops was, So I'm really happy for the fans,
like I say, but they're low key turning me into
a Knicks support.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Oh cuse, do do it? Do do it. Don't don't
let them swoon you like that, just off of one championship.
Come on, come on, cuff that man.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
It's Jayleen Bronson, like, look out this. Small guards revolutionized
the position again when we once thought small guards were
just like they say, NFL running back. So NFL running
back seemed lost their value a couple of years ago, right,
Small guards in the NBA lost their value a couple
of years ago. Steph Curry had a good run, but

(04:43):
people were saying Bronton was too small. You know, he'd
never be able to do this. She was fahm in Dallas,
a few years ago with Lucas, he was a backup.
So to be able to catapult your career to the
point where you're the king of NYC forever. Jalen Bronson
would never pay for another Eatha food or beverage in
his life in New York.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
He's the guy doesn't have anything. It doesn't have anything
with him being shorter and light skin. I mean, but
he's a little darker. She is a little darker than
than Steph Curry. I mean, does he bring a little
bit any guy braids in his hair? I mean, he
is relatable. He's probably a little bit more relatable than
even Steph Curry is I mean, is that why you
you changing your your tune cuffs?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
You know, I'm seeing light skan forever man. But I
just love the way I just love the way Jalen Brunton.
He plays. He doesn't play like a six one sixty
two guard right like you see him posting up six seven,
six eight guys using his footwork, creating space like it's
every kid should be watching this guy going forward. As

(05:46):
far as American players, that's what's so sweet about this.
We've had these European players just dominating the sport. You know,
the NBA has tried to make Jannis the face of
the league. They tried to make Luca the face of
the league, like when the latest guy. But Jalen Brunton
to swoop right in and just snatched Wenby's chained like deebo,

(06:06):
Like he just snatched this change six two guys. So
that's why I'm slowly starting to be able to be
a New York Nates fan. It's I know, it's mind boggling, right, but.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
All right, let me let me throw this one out
at you guys. And we mentioned it being a big,
a big thing for New York to win it, and
I'll just posed this to all of you guys. Uh,
with that drought and with them finally bringing it home.
This being a younger team, everybody has been West oriented,

(06:40):
Western Conference oriented. It's like it's the West and and
nobody else. Should this still be the idea the thought
of how we're viewing the NBA or did the Knicks
maybe change the change the narrative. I gotta say, I
don't think that. I think that the Knicks were the
most dangerous team. And I said this to y'all, I

(07:00):
thought they were dangerous but I thought that the Spurs
were the better team. And now, if that's a coaching
situation how they lost the way that they lost those games,
or if it's an immaturity lack of experience, I don't
know which one it was, could be both, but I
still could say that it could have easily been a
Spurs series where they ran away with it, but they didn't.

(07:23):
And the Knicks are just as really and and structured.
They're just as is well built to have a run
of a couple of years, just like any other team.
How should we be viewing this fellas?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah, I mean, just like you said, you look at
this series, man, it could have win either way. When
they went up three to one, I mean those three
losses basically came down to one possession. Wouldn't be throwing
the boss the fun castle off its back. Then you
filed Jalen Brusson. He goes to the line and you
lose by one, and then obviously the ogn andob tipping

(07:59):
nobody y Tim on the end bound he just runs
on the court and tips the ball in. And you
just look at some of those plays down the stretch
and just say you can just say that like they
were one play away from basically being up three, winning
this series and having a possibility of winning the World Championship.
And you just said it. I think it really came

(08:22):
down to coaching down the stretch for coach Mitch versus
coach Brown, and they just made the plays that need
to be made to get them over the hump. But
you know, looking at the Knicks moving forward, I think
the Eastern Conference will be better next year. Obviously, healthy
Jason Tatum and you get a Tyrese Haliburton back in Indiana,

(08:42):
so it's not going to be that easy to navigate
through the Eastern Conference. But I think this was a
championship or bus year for the Knicks being that you
know a few few of the other stars were down
on the Eastern Conference and they accomplished it. But Jalen
Brunson and that team in this city, the way that

(09:02):
this city has been over the last you know, four
or five days, Puerto Rican Day Parade, NBA Championship, World Cup,
soccer all at one time. I mean, you can't even
catch a train to New York City right now. It's
just you gotta find your own way in there. But
it's great for the fans man, great for the city.

(09:23):
And obviously I was a part of a parade, and
that parade that the Knicks had the other day, I
think we had about three We had three million people
at our super Bowl parade. They haven't even come out
with the numbers for the knickt parade. But man, I
mean everybody was involved and the city is still upside down.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I had to rub that in my face. Huh, Okay,
that's cool.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
What do you mean, man? It was it was three
million people hanging out scotch scrapers.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
That's wonderful that you got to enjoy that Plexico burst.
So it's great, thank you. Some of us didn't get
to be a part of that parade. You know, I
didn't mean into d rail or you know, mess up
the segment here we were talking about celebrating the Knicks.
Then you want to go and talk about the Super
Bowl that I missed by one season, and well, hurt

(10:12):
my feelings, hurt bad, cut me deeply what you just said,
Plexico birds. But it's okay, TJ. Take it like talk
does bring us back to where we need to be,
because you know, my feelings are I need some I
need y'all to check in on me. Now, you know,
I miss John.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Barkley right now. He got four rings. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Well well, but here's the thing though, that parade and
that ring that Plexico Birds has is the reason why
I went to New York to go play football my boys.
Plex and ap Uh wanted me to come there.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I remember the call. I remember the call. I was
in Florida riding down the street and all caused my
phone and this was all he said. He was like,
let's go get this championship. And he hung up the phone.
And I didn't even know he was a part of
the team. And until he called me, and I didn't
even get a chance to say, all right, man, let's

(11:11):
go get it. He was like, let's go get a championship,
and he hung up the phone. I was like, all right,
we got the phone.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I'm I'm glad y'all went and got it. I'm glad
you wouldn't got to go and be in that parade
Plexico Birds. I was sitting at home watching y'all what
you got.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
To j who you got, man, No, anytime you accomplish
what the Knicks accomplished, man, go have your fun. They
earned it fifty three years and yeah, the Spurs could
have won every game, but they didn't. And I thought
the Spurs were gonna win and they didn't. And so

(11:56):
you have to give the next credit because every game
when that fourth quarter head, they locked in and they
presented problems to the Spurs that they couldn't handle. It
was a fourth quarter that pressure got to them, and
the pressure didn't get to the nixt So congratulations to
the Knicks Cat Jalen Brusson o g. Those three players
carried them at big moments in this series and they've

(12:20):
earned the greatest reward that you can have, and that's
to be a champion.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
All right, Listen, we're gonna take a quick break. On
the other side of the break, we're gonna continue the conversation. Obviously,
there's Big Giannis, the compo and the wouldn't be or
how Yannis and theopo. How you say his last name again?
How y'all anybody got it onto say it again?

Speaker 3 (12:45):
An? I think I said it right.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
See you when you start trying to teach somebody else
how to bowl, you start rolling gutter ball. It's all good,
you know, we're talking about Yannis the Greek freaking if
y'all you know. Anyways, there's a lot going on in
the NBA. We got Cuffs the Legend here to go
over it with us. And we got Lightning Locker coming
up too, y'all. Y'all won't want to miss that. We
get those good quick, fun conversation question answers, all that stuff.

(13:13):

(15:24):
Lightning Locker coming up very shortly, very soon. But before
we get to the Lightning Locker, I want to ask
you all this before we get ilo, to give us
an update and just you know, y'all hit it how
you feel it. Who should be the favorite for next
year to win the NBA Championship.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
I'm gonna say this, San Antonio Spurs. I believe they
get back to the Western Conference Finals and Women's gonna
come back with a vengeance. I'm going with the Spurs.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
So you're putting dirt on okc all right, tjus.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
It's a tough one the favorites to win the NBA
Championship where we sit today, I believe it's a two
team race, the Spurs or Oklahoma City, and I'm going
with the Spurs as well, more dirt cuffs.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I would say the Spurs have to go out and
get an enforcer like Bobby Porters. That's a perfect piece
to put alongside Wenby. You need a gloom about him.
I feel like they lost they lost that finals because
they had six waisted roster spots. You had Kelly o'lennok, Biambo,
Mason Plumley, Harrison Barney had all these guys on the
bench pretty much doing nothing, giving you no minutes. Miss Johnson,

(16:54):
and trust those guys. They have to upgrade that bench,
and I think Bobby Porters that type of stretch for
can put them over the hump once again and get
them back there. But don't sleep on Sam Pressey this
off season. We got to remember Jalen Wilson. Jaalen Williams
was hurt. Ja Doug was injured in that series. He
tried to play on the hamstring. It didn't work out.

(17:17):
Aj Mitchell was hurt as well. Those are two major
cogs on that team. So the Thunder will be back
and I think we're going to see that Western Conference
finals matchup for the foreseeable future. I don't think anybody
else is going to have a chance in the West
because both of these teams have draft assets. Like look
at the Thunder right now. They have the twelfth hick
in the draft this Tuesday, and they got a chance

(17:39):
to get somebody like Yakso Landenberg, the kid from Michigan Landenborg.
They can up your ag they can trade that pick.
So I say it's gonna be between the thunder and
spurs Man. But I think Winny is going to be
extra motivated.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
It's going to be interesting to hear how you answer
your first lightning locker question. But before we get to
the lightning locker, let's get enough from Isaac Loewing Crown, Ilo.
Where are you kaughing?

Speaker 4 (18:03):
My guy?

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Come here we go.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
I'm gonna keep it real. I'm gonna keep it real
short this week, Illow. I just flew back, hear me.
I just flew back from Texas. You gotta book you
a flight the Dallas, Texas and go to Hutch and Barbecue. Man,
the best reels I've ever had in my life. The
ReBs were so good.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Illo.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
I had to smuggle the whole rack of reels back
on my flight last night for my white real guard.
I'm smuggling reels, Illo, top.

Speaker 7 (18:35):
I love you, Bud, Been there, done that?

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Oh wow?

Speaker 7 (18:39):
The real question is did you also have a Texas Twinkie?

Speaker 4 (18:46):
No?

Speaker 3 (18:47):
I didn't get that twinkie, but I saw them cooking
that twinkie. Everybody told me to try it. It's a stuff.
It's a hollapeno wrapped in like brisket and bacon and
got cream cheese in the middle. Everything is bigger in
Texas than I really realize that. But I'll thay Illo,
I made it back in time for my Carolina Hurricanes. Man,

(19:07):
you've seen the parade. We are hockey city now, I'm
telling the world North Carolina is a hockey state, and Robley,
North Carolina is a hockey town in a hockey city.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
Now, what do you think was the biggest factor in
the Hurricanes winning the Stanley Cup? Was it their question
penalty kill? Was it their neutral zone trap? Was it
the tape to tape passes.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Protecting the crease?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
I think it was really just I think it's really
just Rob Brendamore man. Like we're saying, we got the
big shoulders, the guy following their coach.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Man.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
They had the identity of their coach. You know, he
won a championship twenty years ago, L six, and he
brought the identity of the Hurricanes. And I'm going out
on the limb right now. We're going back to back, Illo,
We're going back to back.

Speaker 7 (19:52):
Can you can you confirm or deny the rumor that
you are trying to have your name inscribed on the
Stanley Cup.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
That's got a little too much. I can't go that
far with it, but we're gonna go back to back.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
Well, my congratulations on the Stanley Cup, but also on
Hutchin's barbecue. And speaking of Texas, that's where today's World
Cup action is kicked off as we speak. Group F
matchup between the Netherlands and Sweden. The Netherlands scored first
in just the fifth minute of the match, and guys,

(20:26):
here is how that goal sounded on the radio in
the Netherlands on NPO Radio one, and bro was so
excited he switched from speaking Dutch to English. A little
bit of the poets he called kuck bow guckbo, come
to Cuckoo.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Bobby go.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Brian, Bobby kutas and they lunks fucked the lighting in
Houston and you get start who cut it.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
The owners here in Houston, Texas.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
And butt them go in At the moment.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
For Brian Brope, it was interesting.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
I mean that would be like someone here announcing in
English and then lapsing into Dutch. So Brian Brobbie scores
for the Netherlands in the fifth minute. But then just
twelve minutes later Robby scored again. Here's how that sounded
on Fox.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Well it's a dumb free start.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Tib shut up.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
It's Brian probably again thanks double Dutch thigs Hoinston.

Speaker 7 (21:22):
They are now in the twenty eighth minute. It's the
Netherlands two and Sweden nail golfing around three of the
US Open. Wyndham Clark has a four shot lead at
seven hunder par overall. He'll see off today at three
forty five Eastern Xander Schoffley among those tied for second lace.
He's at three under par overall. Rory McElroy and Scottie
Scheffler seven shots back at even par. One major League

(21:45):
baseball game going on right now, the Chicago White Sox
a one nothing lead at Detroit in the top half
of the second inning.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Guys, back to you appreciate it. I lo okay, Well,
time for the locker. The fighting locker. Three rounds, three
questions each, ten seconds per answer. You know the rule
is if you go longer than ten, your mic goes off.
But we don't really have that in play right now.
But we got round one, news hits, round two and

(22:16):
round three. You know, just try to keep up when
I hit you with the go and we're going to start. Hey,
do we got some radio game music to go with this, Perfet,
Like you, you're so good at at things like this.
Let's just add a little game music to this one
right now. Let's see how how good they can react
to the game music, hyping it up a little bit more.
Let's see if we got something there, because we're gonna

(22:38):
go news quick hits right out the gate. You got
anything for us, Perfet? What you got? You got anything? Okay? Okay,
little gritty little country gritty cuffs. You're first on the list.
We just asked who y'all had winning it all, But
this one's for you. Nick's win it all, first title

(23:00):
since nineteen seventy three, Brunson forty five. In the Closer,
you talked about how he's your lights, getting brothern finals
MVP beat the Spurs for one. What do you think
the odds should be for the Knicks to repeat next season?
Over or under everybody else in the East? You know,

(23:22):
go give us what you got.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
I think this is a one off championship because I
think James Dolan is going to be satisfied with just
winning this one ring. To be honest, like, I think
the Nicks are happy and content, and I think Boston
is going to retool. We might see Jayleen Brown move on.
So I'm gonna go with the Celtics to rise up
and win the East next year. I don't think the
Knick's going to be back in the finals next year.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
All right, moving on, second question, This one's for you TJ.
Brendan Soresby first round talent. We talked about him in
the first hour of the show. Make sure you check
out the podcast if you miss any of it. If
he files for the supplement draft after gambling scandal hits
the deadline Monday, would you spend a pick on a

(24:07):
quarterback with a gambling history? Yes or no?

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Go absolutely, I would Now what pick will that be?
I'd probably go uh, I'd go third round. I'll take
a chance on him if you have any type of sense, man,
you're not doing no dumb like that again. But I'll
take a chance on him with a third round pick
for sure.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Plexico burs Aaron Donald. We talked about the unretirement watch
Rams won them back males, Garrett reportedly helping with recruiting him.
Does Aaron Donald suit up in twenty twenty six over under?
If he suits up, does he get six sacks less
or more if he comes back six a.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Man of Lord Aaron Donald. I think he comes back
because this will be one of those seasons where that
he can get to another championship very easily, being teamed
up with Miles Garrett. And when he does return, not
only will he have six sacks, he'll have double digit sacks,
ten plus sacks. So I think if he returns ten

(25:15):
plus sacks, he makes first team, the first team All
Pro again, and then win the World championship.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
All right, so he's gonna get more than six sacks.
All right, let's take it the round two TJ. If
you have a teammate that gets caught up betting on sports,
what's the first thing you say to him when you
see him into enter into the locker room, and if
it gets bleaped out, just say it gets bleeped out.

(25:44):
But I want an honest go at it.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
Go bro, you can't be that damn dumb having stupid play.
That's what I'm gonna say, Bro, you dumb as hell.
That's what you y'all know me. That's exactly what I'm saying.
He'll dumb mass done, got caught you talk, You was
gonna get away with that, you stupid as hell boy.
Just it's very simple, because you're gonna get caught, gamble.

(26:07):
If you want to and think you're gonna get away
with it, they gonna catch you.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Will you give them a conclusion of comfort and understanding
or is it just left off as you dumb as hell.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
Take you exactly no comfort at all? Why am I
giving you any type of comfort? And when you knew
what the consequences were gonna be when you got caught.
Because you're getting caught, man, the league is the National
Football League is not playing about these players gambling to
do it?

Speaker 4 (26:34):
If you want to.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Cuffs. Did you ever play football?

Speaker 4 (26:43):
And I was?

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I was a light skinned Tommy Fraser and I was
an option light the story they recruited me. I would
have started as a quarter as a IM freshman on
Bartney at quarterback, but I was a little too frail
and the offensive lineman at my high school were the

(27:04):
same time as me, like one sixty. But I wasn't
about to get hurt in miss basketball season. So that's
where my football dreams ended.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Man, all right, nights out. Now with that, with that backstory,
here's your question, and I need you to take this
very seriously. Which one do you take an Aaron Donald
at thirty six years old for you going into your
freshman year of high school.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Go, I mean I'm taking Aaron Donald because I mean
I'm seeing him on Instagram. He's still in really good shape,
you know what I'm saying, And I feel.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Like that's better than you going into high school cups.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Man, I was one sixty. I was a buck. I
was I was like the cake like Wenby. I was
like one sixty.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Man.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
I couldn't. I couldn't take that to impact that physicality.
But I think Aaron Donald's going to come back about
mid season. He gonna see Miuse Garrett doing what he's doing,
and he's just like, yo, I can fit right in there.
You can't double team both guys.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Now.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
I think he's it to come back. He's gonna come
back in tea.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
I think the only time you would have been comparable
is in crawling. You know, if if y'all would have
had like a crawling race, I might take you in
the crawling race. But once y'all got up on y'all team, man,
I'm gonna have to go with I'm gonna have to
go with a d man like from from from walking
from Toddler on, I'm gonna probably have to go and

(28:26):
and that's I love you. It's with love and respect, Cus,
But that's just that's just what it's got to be,
all right, Uh tj or our wait plex plex plex?
Here we go? Uh, here we go? Where are we at?

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Here?

Speaker 1 (28:41):
I lost my place on where we are at? I
got y'all with teammates getting caught up. All right, here
we go. One catch in your career to make again
with the game on the line. Don't say the obvious
one because we know and you hurt my feelings earlier on.

(29:02):
And don't don't say the obvious one outside of the
Super Bowl catch that ended the undefeated Patriots.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Where would you go?

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Which game on the line? Man?

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Oh? That one catch six in Philadelphia? Man, we go
into halftime in the fourth quarter down seventeen. We go
in the overtime and there's one like a few seconds
left on the clock before we go on the field.
I pointed to I'm sit besides Sam Maddison. I said, Man,

(29:34):
I'm gonna score this game. I'm gonna end it. I'm
gonna throw the ball in the stands and it was
a couple of zero fade and there was just nobody
out there but Sheldon Brown. I don't even think he
like to see where I was going. He just threw
the ball up there and just took a dive and
h amen. I came down with the ball and we
were only two at the time, and we ended up

(29:57):
one and two. I ended the game. And that's why
the Philadelphia fans still to this day still hate me.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Good for them, Good for.

Speaker 7 (30:06):
All.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Right, roll three, here we go, Bo, here we go.
I'm gonna hit you. I'm gonna hit you with this TJ.
The cuffs just want it. I know you feel really
good and strong about the predictions that you make and
how they come out, because that's just how you do it.
Next June. What call are you going to make right

(30:26):
now that makes you look like a genius? Next June?

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Go next June. I mean, that's got to be the
NBA Finals month. So the Spurs win a championship. I mean,
that's that's so far away.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yeah, absolutely, that's why it's genius. Who gets MVP. I mean,
y'all hit us with the Spurs? Who gets defensive players?
Six year of the league? Trade? Whatever? I what makes
you with your genius like.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
We will be.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
I'm gonna say, Jason Tatum.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Oh wow, oh wow, that's spicy his house. You go
with Taylor?

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Luca Luca, I think, yeah, I think Luca. I think
Luca is sitting back right. Luca watched Giannis get a ring.
He watched Sda get a ring, he watched Kadien get
a ring, he watched Jokis get a ring. Now, he
watched his old Dallas Maverick teammate Dayalen Brunton get a ring.
And Luca had phenomenal stats. He was the leading scorer
in the league last year, and he didn't get any accolades. Right,

(31:30):
lucas sitting back low carb. Luca is gonna come back
with a vengeance this year, and I think is gonna
win the MVP.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Who you gotta play?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
So let me ask you this question. Would you take
Jalen Brusting right now? Will you take Luca duncheons.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Luca is a very individual player.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
But he's a better tell right now than Jayleen Brust.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yes, but Jaylen Bronson has had the perfect starting five
around him. Like you got big wings, you got o
Gianna Nooviy, you got Mikel Bridges on the wing. They
cover up a lot of his defensive libility. You got
miss mister Robertson coming off the bend, guy Cat, it's
a perfect storm for Daylon Broughton right now, Roblinka, Why
y'all got win.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
The m v P.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Why y' ain't got him winn an m v P?
Hold off, hold on for your answer. Who you got? Yes?
Who you got Plex?

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Who you taking as your m v P as an
NB NBA over all overseason MVP?

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (32:26):
Next year he took Jason say them, Ah, man, you
know what, I'm gonna just go jump out the window
and say, this is gonna be probably one of the
best seasons of his career. My main man, Joel and
b I'm gonna see you VP. Oh no, my main man.

(32:46):
You really look like a real genius.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
If he get an m v P, If he get it,
you will look like a genius. That's that's that's not
only going out the window, Plex that's sitting on it,
falling out of the backwards. But that's just me. I'm
gonna go with what doesn't make me look like a
genius is just what it's going to be. Mister Winbin
Yama will win the MVP of the league in twenty
twenty seven. That's just what it's going to be, all right,

(33:12):
fellas the last one, the last one of all the questions.
And here we go, NFL, Who is your favorite right
now to be the best team heading into the playoffs

(33:35):
next season?

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Go, I'm going heading.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Into the playoffs now, the playoffs, not the super Bowl,
just the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
If the LA Rams can stay healthy and they can
add Aaron Don for they mix like we were staying
previously with Miles Garrett in the mix. Now, if Cook
and Nakul can get itself together off the field, they're loaded.
They got pretty much the best coach in the league,
and Sean May I think it's gonna be the LA
Rams if they can stay healthy. So Seattle Seahawks might

(34:05):
be her ring.

Speaker 5 (34:07):
I think it's an obvious answer where we stand today.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
It has to be the Rams.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
They have the most complete team international Football league, and
it would be even more complete ive Aaron Donald the
size to rejoin and unretire, and so I think that's
the obvious answer to be the Rounds. But you know,
you got to have a lot of things to go
your way. You got to stay healthy, ball got to
bounce away. But as we sit here today, it has
to be the Rams.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Well, I'm not going to be like you guys and
take the obvious, you know team, But I'm looking at
the AFC. I think my guys prize for a great comeback. Uh.
They add the Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker
to the to the Chiefs. I think that Patrick Mahomes

(34:54):
in this group. In this group, they got one more
pusher and he's going to come back off of this injury.
Now he adds a running game to this offense. It's
going to improve the passing game tremendously. That something that
Patrick Holmes that has not had is a steady run game.

(35:16):
So I'm going with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
I was conflicted on this one, fellas, and it's two
AFC teams. I'm gonna pick one, but I'm gonna tell
y'all with the caveat of the other team I could have,
it could have gone either way, all right, the first one,
which is my pick, I'm gonna go with the Denver Broncos.
I think their defense is just as phenomenal as the

(35:42):
dark side that Seattle Seahawks defense, and that Seattle Seahawks
defense is nasty. I would have loved to seen that matchup.
I think bo Nicks comes back as a better quarterback.
He fits what Sean Payton wants and what he loves,
and I think that that is a pure win. I
would say my second runner up, and I know we
didn't need to, but I'm just giving it to y'all

(36:04):
is the Houston Texans. You know, people were down on
on Stroud, but for me, he can't play any worse
than what he did in that last game we saw
him in.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
The dude is.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Still a talent. Let's not forget how talented the dude is.
And I believe he has a bounce back year. It
plays better than what he has. Their defense is nasty too,
and if they can find that running game to go
along with what else they got going on, I think
the Houston Texans are going to be dangerous next year.
But I'm gonna say to Denver Broncos, all right, that's
our lightning locker, y'all, and listen, if you missed any

title picks. We talked about it and we got cuffs

(37:22):

It is Cuffs the Legend, It's Plexico Burth, It's TJ.
Husch Maanzada. I'm LeVar Aaronton. Take a quick break. We'll
be right back to close up. This is Fox Sports Radio. Oh, okay,
for cuffs, students, one for cuffs. Whoo, Pete, Pablo Huh

(37:49):
stand up like a helicopter.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
Whoo.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
All right, joll welcome back into the show. It's the
last segment of Up on Game. Hope y'all enjoyed the
show before we go any further. Shots out to Perfect,
Shots out to Bow. They make the show go the
way that it goes. If we don't have them, we
don't have a show. Appreciate y'all. Shots out the ilo
giving us the updates. If we don't have the updates,
we an't know what's going on in the rest of

(38:16):
sports because we talk about what we talk about before
we get up out of here. Fellas, I gotta throw
this one out at y'all because it's kind of been
on my mind that I've been like thinking about. I've
been looking at it. Have you ever seen an alumni
group of guys that have not won anything?

Speaker 4 (38:33):
So have y'all?

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Have you ever seen an alumni group of like straight
up A list celebrity stars being celebrated. You're watching them
walk around be celebrated, and they never won anything. They
never won, not one title. Now, listen, I'm a big
I'm a big a listen. I played in Washington, so

(38:59):
I'm a big fan of Pat pat Ewing from the
Georgetown pat Ewing and loved him as a player. Jamaica
Barren got love for you know, LJ. If you didn't
love LJ, if you played basketball. When Grandmama came out,
I was wearing converse because of LJ. All right, you
know Stephan Malberry, you got Carmelo, Anthony John Starts is around,

(39:21):
Latrell Spree well getting caught by the paparazzi coming out
of parties and stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
Fat Joe.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
They made Fat Joe relevant all over again, even though
he didn't play and he ain't getting no championship. But
I mean, what is this phenomenon? I gotta ask, what
is the phenomenon of the praise of all of the
former players and ain't none of them won? How does
that work?

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Let me tell you what it is. They've been losers
for so long in that city. It's fifty three years
of losing in hardbreak. So these dudes are clout chasing
off of the NIX team right now. I will give
the Knicks credit their organization. They do show their players
a lot of a lot of love, you know what
I'm saying, a lot of organizations that don't lay out

(40:08):
the red carperate like this. No Joe Smith spoke about
it like the Knicks show him way more love than
the Cavs did when they won in twenty sixteen. So
I will say that part. But it is kind of
funny seeing Skinny Joe and those guys walk around with
the trophy if they want.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
And so let me ask you this. I know that
John Starks, Allen and Alan Houston are employees of the
New York Knicks now, so they will receive championship rings.
So do you think it matters to them that they
will be getting the championship ring as guys being in
the front office, or would you rather want the ring
as a.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Player, not the same man?

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Not like seeing that it's not the same bro. You
didn't have your actual sweat out there, the sweat equity
all those years. Like Patrick Ewing can hold the trophy
and take the photo offs. But you can still see
that little bit of stagings in his eyes, a little twinkled,
like he missed that lay up against the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Give us your top five picks were getting up out
of here, Give us your top five picks in the
draft for we get up out. You got ten seconds, man.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Were going with aj DeVonta Utah. Jack's gonna shake it
up and get Cam Buser number two Memphis Grizzlies, Darren
Peterson at number three Chicago Bulls. Gonna get the steal
of the draft. Tayleb. Wilson for UNC and the LA
Toenail Clippers. The LA Clippers, please take Darius Acuff Junior
so we do not have to see him in Sacramento.
Please don't let the Kings get a cuff.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
That's that's up on game, y'all. Y'all heard it here.
