Speaker 2 (00:42):
All right, all right, all right, we're an hour two.
You've got a lot to get to and not a
whole lot of time to do it. We will get
the lightning locker first. We're gonna you know, we're gonna
jump on that NBA and continue the conversation. We just
came out of a great conversation about Caitlin Clark and

(01:02):
the w n B A maybe Cuffs will will chime
in on that. And speaking of before we get going
with the NBA. You always got to hear this before. Yeah,
there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
It's time to check in with cuffs the legend from
some dude show podcast on up on Game Presents. Cuffs
is giving you a spicy takes on what's going down.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
You can pick the heat like Lebron and.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Now here's cuffs the legend. It's gold Town legend.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Well, as I was mentioning, yeah, you can't, oh yeah,
you can't. You can't get to the stories, to the facts,
to the to the nitty gritty of it without bringing
in the legend himself. So there you go. We got
cuffs in. How you feeling? Cuffs? Oh we lost them?
That that might have been. Huh, that's the old school
busy signal.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Well, you know, you know he's way down in the country,
deep down there in Carolina.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Listen, we we got the Minnesota. I feel as though
they minister they mortgaged their futures to appear. Uh, it's
you know, you got Lamello, you got man. We got
cuffs now, cuffs first and foremost. How are you doing?
How you feeling?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Man?

Speaker 6 (02:28):
It's beautiful Saturday here in the Carolina's. Man, you know,
it's my favorite time of the years. NBA all season
of fireworks is here right now. He just had the
NBA Draft this past Tuesday. You know, free agency is starting.
It's a lot of spicy moves, a lot of a
lot of a lot of moves, a lot of a
lot of shaking. Right now, we're hearing a lot of rumblins.
I'm excited, man. I want to see I want to

(02:49):
see what my guy La mellow Ball is going to
do man in Minnesota, because I know being in North
Carolina right now, it's a very somber time right now?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Is it very somber?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
How do you feel? How you feel about that?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
I know that was your guy, you know, he he
bought a little light you know too, you know, the
Charlotte area and being in one bright spot for the organization, man,
and they let your boy go, man, So how you
feel about that?

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Like, first off, absolutely loved this trade for the Minnesota
Templewolves because six six point guards with that type of
passing ability, that type of charisma, that type of playmaking,
shot making. We've seen what Melow can do, right LaMelo Ball.
But being in North Carolina, Man, he has resurrected the
fan base because back in the day where they were

(03:37):
the Charlotte Bobcats, when they had Gerald Wallace, you know,
and those guys, nobody was going to the Charlotte Bobcats games, right,
and the Hornets lost a lot of their core fan
base back then, you know, back in the Grandmama days
and the ninety ninety one when Lava the Morning was there,
the hide was alive. But when the broadcast game, nobody

(03:57):
was really rocking with the badcast. The uniforms was trash
and nobody was rocking with them.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Right.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
So here comes a few years fast forward, a lot
of struggle, a lot of Struggle Bowl, a lot of
struggle ball. But then here comes this kid from Chino Hills,
electrifying six six guard, like I said, and he turned
the city up and everybody got on board. And me,
being a season ticket holder a couple of years ago,
I was going to those games to watch LaMelo ball.

(04:23):
I've never seen that many kids at a Hornets game
with a player's jersey. Everybody was wearing Lamelow's jersey. And
now all of a sudden, you trade him in the
middle of the night, and it's like, I know y'all
seen some of the video clips on social media the
last couple of days. The fans are really something like
this is a real gut punch for the city, because
why do this when you built all the momentum that

(04:45):
you built, you got to the play in last year.
You drafted Kompton Nipple out of Duke. You know you're
starting to put the pizzas together, Brandon Miller, you know
you got the young center da Bote. You're making good
moves due the Charlotte Hornet's front office has been making
it moves. But this is a hand scratcher because, like
I said, these type of players do not grow on trees.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Well, I gotta ask you, and here are the facts.
The Wolves get LaMelo, they get Josh green Ford, nas
Reed a twenty thirty three unprotected first three first round
swaps twenty eight, twenty nine and thirty three seconds. I
hear what you're saying, Cuffs, but let's be clear here

(05:29):
that turn up was for one season. He's been injured,
and that to me has to be the biggest concern
and the biggest question, And it has to be why
Charlotte in some ways, whether the fans like it or not,
they get draft capital off of this trade, They get
a nice player in nas Reed come in their way,

(05:49):
and I gotta say, you might have sold LaMelo high
at this at the way that they got rid of them,
and you're planning for the future. Why you could get
the most out of an asset at its highest point,
highest price. Cause what would you say to that?

Speaker 6 (06:11):
With me being really tapped into the post of the
team and a lot of these dogs, I'm gonna tell you,
really what happened. Charles Lee, the coach of the Charlotte Hornets,
he just didn't rock with m Meloball. He did not
enjoy coaching him. So all the little stuff you're hearing
coming out from these different podcasts and these different shows
saying his injury history, he doesn't have any type of
major injury history. The guy has been there for this team.

(06:34):
This simply comes down to optics. The moment that the
Charlotte Hornets drafted kankin Nipple and then he had a
successful rookie campaign as you saw where he was in
the running for Rookie of the Year with Cooper Flag
up until the end. That is what changed everything is
Charlotte because the team did take off and kankk Nipple
was that culture changer. He brought balance to the team.

(06:56):
Because to keep it real, everybody viewed the Hornets as
like this hood a AU type team right the last
couple of years, and LaMelo is the engine, right, He's
the engine to that team. But I think they're making
a mistake by getting rid of him and trying to
make Honkin Nipple to face because Honkin Nipple is not
gonna put us in the seats. And that's where all
NBA fans understand. I've been to the Charlotte Hornet games.

(07:19):
Like I said, I had season tickets. There were times
where you go to the Spectrum Center, man, and it
was a time we only went to the Spectrum Center
to see Lebron come to town, to see Steph Curry
come to town. It was always about the opposing superstars
coming to Charlotte. We never cared about the Horness players
and their team until LaMelo became that star. He is
a star man, and I think it's all working out

(07:41):
for him because he deserves to be in a Minnesota's
not a bigger market per se, but they have more
eyes on them because the ant man is a superstar, right,
So I like that pairing and I think it's a
big move in Minnesota because Anthony Edwards was the one
that's getting frustrated. It's more about Anthony Edwards and Minnesota
than it is about LaMelo, if you get what I'm saying,

(08:01):
Like they lost Kevin Garnett, you know, back in the
day because they can never get over the hump. And
I've heard directly that ant Man is getting frustrated with
how his He's sitting back watching his peers win championships.
All his contemporaries have rings. Jogics has a ring, Sga
got a ring, Tatum has a ring. Now Jalen Brunton
has a ring. So if you're an ant Man, you're

(08:22):
looking at the situation like, I'm gonna give Minnesota one
or two more years to make some moves because we
saw Julius randall right, they traded him for a bag
of Frido's. He was not the the needle mover that
they needed in Minnesota. He's a black hole. So I
think with him on LaMelo, man, this is the street,
this is the back court that the streets want to see.
I feel like because they're in the style of play,

(08:43):
so they're going to be a top three league pass
team next year for sure.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Yeah, I was. I was really surprised by that. With
the Shawla Horners. I honestly believe that the organization took
a step backwards, you know what I mean, just like
you're saying Conquin came in there and had a he
had a good first season, uh, you know, for running
for Rookie of the Year. But I don't believe he's
a player that's gonna take the reins over this of

(09:08):
this organization. And now you can say that they're going
to be contenders, you know, in in the in the
East to get to the playoffs, I don't. I don't
believe that they have that kind of you know, current
roster to do so. But I think moving forward, I
don't believe. I don't think that Minnesota is going to
be a contented this year. You know, you're adding some pieces.
LaMelo is only only in the second year of a

(09:31):
five year deal, so so they have two or three
years to to to really surround him and ant Man
with some pieces so they can compete. But uh, but
as far as championships are concerned, uh, ant Man, I
really believe that this organization they're gonna take some steps
to really put some pieces around these two young men

(09:53):
so they can compete. Because right now we can all
say that as far as okay se the San Antonio Spurs,
the Denver Nuggets, those are the top two three teams
in the Western Conference, you know for the next you know,
five ten years maybe so, maybe not the Denver Nuggets,
but definitely the Spurs and OKA. See, so we're gonna

(10:15):
see how these two young men play together. I'm curious
to see, uh, you know, who's gonna be taking the
last shot, who's gonna be bringing the ball up?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
And both of these guys a heavy bringing the ball
up the court. So it's gonna be very interesting to see, man,
how these guys play together.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Cuffs the extension that that LaMelo is eligible for. It's
a two year, one hundred and nineteen zero point two
million that kicks in. I believe July sixth, they they
shopped him. Charlotte shopped him. So they sold like as
I mentioned, they sold them high. Is this what you're
hearing plex say? Is this all or all or nothing?

(10:56):
Is this an all in movement for Minnesota bringing LaMelo in?
I feel like losing NAS that's that's that's tough. Do
you have enough of a supporting cast? They lose Randall
as well. Randall will not be back as well, which
I think some people would say was kind of a
large disappointment to what they were anticipating or hoping for

(11:19):
when they brought them. There is this all in season
for for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and I heard you kind
of allude to the frustration that, uh that ant Man
is obviously feeling right now. But how close to winning
are they with this type of backcourt? Do they have
what they need down low in other positions to be

(11:40):
able to have those two be able to be the
catalyst for this team to go to the next level.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
Well, the only thing that I don't like about Minnesota's
roster right now is with them being in the West,
you're going against win Byama. You're going against Okay. See
you see they just resigned Harnstein, They draft that DoD
the kid from Michigan seventy three, They got Chet Hongrim,
they got a massive front line. So you only have
Rudy Gobert there now as your center, your rem protector,

(12:09):
and we know that he is terrible offensively, so he's
not providing any spacing for your team. I like Jaden McDaniels.
He's starting to murder as one of the Bright Young's
two way stars in the league Ao Demonso they got
him from the Bulls last year. He played really well
in the playoffs, had a career high in the playoffs.
He's a real energetic guard to come up. He's a

(12:31):
starter now, but he came off the bench with the Bulls.
You inserting him. I think the dynamic between LaMelo and
ant Man is going to be beautiful to watch because
you can't double team ant Man anymore because LaMelo ball
will shoot your eyes out. Like he's a guy we
saw last year go on offensive tears where he hit
ten threes in the game. He has that ability to

(12:53):
really crank it up and be a micro waves and
just space the floor. And we've seen LaMelo's court vision.
So I think those two guys are going to compliment
each other very well and make the game easier for
each other. So I think now also with Chris Finch,
let's give Chrins Finch some love because he is a
really good coach man. Chris Finch is a good coach
in Minnesota. I think he's going to figure this thing

(13:14):
out with us to this guy, so I think all
the chips are in for Minnesota. They got a great
home crow. They got a great environment up there in Minnesota,
so I think they're going to Galla. When I was
around this team, they do have to fill in those spots,
you know, in free agency, maybe get another score off
the bench, like a Quentin Grimes. You know, they need
a little more size as well. So it's not a

(13:35):
lot of good big men out there in this free
agency market. But it's going to be a one to
two year window. They're not going to be instant contenders
this coming year, but we got to see where it lands.
And on the last thing about the Charlotte Hornets, I'm
hearing you know, they did get a forty million dollar
they stension a trade exception. I'm sorry, they got a
trade exception with this trade. So it's forty million dollar
trade exception. And there are some rumblings that Dalen Brown

(13:57):
could be in play for the Charlotte Hornets. Just imagine that,
like though Orangers that never really had other than the Mellow,
they never had a finals MVP of that type of
caliber star. So seeing Jayleen Brown possibly go to Charlotte
or the Portland Trailblazers like those two, right, there are
situations that we could see Jayleen Brown go to because

(14:17):
there's no way for the Boston Celtics put that guy,
and they put that man in every trade machine. You know,
there's no way he can come back to Boston. So
the East and the West gonna be really wild this year.
And I just love that. We're seeing a lot of
a lot of turnover in the league whereas guys on
different teams now, So it's exciting as a fan and
somebody in the media right there to watch this bo

(14:39):
make sure.

Burst Stretch if you're nasty, and I got Cuffs the

(17:14):
Legend with us as well that we got Lightning Locker
coming up pretty soon here, and we'll have an update
from Ilo as well, so you guys that get to
hear the fun banter between him and his kid brother
Cuffs the Legend. But first let's continue the conversation we
talked about pat Riley landing the Greek Freak that is
easily by far and away, the biggest superstar move of

(17:38):
the offseason will not be outdone unless what we heard
Cuffs throw out there potentially is Jalen Brown ending up
in Charlotte. Huh that you have to go listen to
the podcast to hear what he had to say about that.
But I gotta ask the question, does this make the

(17:59):
Miami Heat now that Plexico that Jannie is a heat.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
That's a heat. He's a heat. Never heard it used
in that context before. He's a heat?

Speaker 2 (18:12):
I mean, what is he? What is he?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
That's that's what he is.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
I mean until somebody explains it to me in a
better form than he's a heat.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
But I'm looking at this trade man.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
Of course, you remember a couple of years ago where
there there was speculation about pat Riley in the Miami Heat,
We're going to trade Tyler Hill.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
You remember that, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
And and uh and pat Raley basically came out and said,
Tyler Hero is not getting traded.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
He's not going anywhere.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
He's going to be a Miami Heat for a very
long time. Uh So pat Riley was basically saying or
insinuating to me, I thought that Tyler Hero is going
to be a lifer as far as the Miami he
was concerned. I thought they had a good one two
punch with him and Bam, and then we'll kind of
going to continue to build a round those two. But

(19:07):
then when I saw this the other day. Uh, if
you can get a Tyler Hero and if you're if
you're the Milwaukee Bucks, you get Jaques Junior and you
get Aware and you get three first run round picks.
With that alone, you can build you a basketball team

(19:28):
if you're if you're the Milwaukee Bucks. But I'm looking
at from a Miami he perspective. Correct me if I'm wrong.
But you got Bobby Porters, you have Bam Bam, you
have Bam and now you have Giannis. I think they're
going to be very good defensively in the paint. But
where's the floor spacing for this Miami Heat team? If
you have a Portis and you have Giannis and Bam

(19:51):
and the paint. I don't see a lot of spacing
on the floor for this team offensively, especially with this
current roster.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
So good cuff. Let me know what you think.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
Well, first off, we gotta give we gotta give a
some dude shout out to pat Riley, to Don Mega,
the Godfather, pat Riley, he is back. Because a lot
of people in NBA circles, includ to myself, we said
that pat Riley was washed. We said the game has
passed him. By. You know, he hasn't acquired a big

(20:22):
fish shits Lebron James, right, But this man in the
twelfth hour, in the midnight hour, he was like Tony
Montanna on scarface when he was sitting in that tub. Right,
Pat Rowley said, you know what, I got one more
home run swing in me. And you got to give
Pat credit because he went and got Lebron in twenty eleven,
and now fast forward fifteen years later, he went and

(20:44):
got the biggest fish and there is Giannis is like
a proven winner and everything. So I love the move
for Miami, but I agree with you plas the shooting
is a concern. You know, you got you have Dave
Yon Mitchell, who was a great on ball defender, and
they're probably going to part ways with Norm Power because
of the financial situation with the contracts being so tight.

(21:06):
But you have Andrew Wiggins. He's a three ind guy,
proven winner, championship player and knock down open shots. But
I feel like you have to go out and get
a veteran. You have to fill this roster just like
kind of similar to when the Miami Heat first got Lebron.
You remember they were strapped financially. It was Boss d
Wade and bron They filled out that roster. They had
Mike Miller. He was the mid level exception guy and

(21:29):
outside of that, it was a bunch of vet minimum right,
and they still made the finals that first year, second year,
third year, and fourth year four years in a row.
With this team, you have to build it kind of similar.
Ike would go out and get Chris Middleton. He had
the rapport with Giannis. They won a championship together with
the Books, and he played pretty well last year after
bouncing back from injury the last couple of years. So

(21:50):
Chris Milton can't provide that that bitch scoring off the bench.
He can give you twelve thirteen points a night, play,
solid defense, underrated passer, and then you go out out
and get Lay Thompson. Lay Thompson will be available in
the buy out market. Dallas Mavericks. They're rebuilding, they're retooling.
So you put those two veteran shooters around Jannis and Bam,

(22:12):
because the guy nobody's talking about right now is mister
eighty three. Bam scored eighty three points in the NBA
game last year, y'all, So like you have both of
those down downhill attackers. Yannis is the best downhill attack
scorer in the NBA, and then Bam has come into
his own this past year, getting more confident, you know,
just attacking and scoring and showing his offensive repertoire. So

(22:34):
I feel like this a match made in heaven defensively
and on the offensive end. Like I said, you might
have a chance to land one more big fish in
South Beach to go along with this duo.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Go ahead, go ahead, i' muscle I'm muscling here.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
They're trying to add uh, what's Anthony Simons from?

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Uh in Chicago? Is that possible?

Speaker 6 (22:57):
Anthony Simons like his contract situation, like he makes a
little I think he's in, like I don't know his
exact number, butout no, he's like I want to say,
fifteen sixteen million range. He might have to take left
to come join the Heatles two point zero. But the
big fish that I'm alluding to, what I am hearing
on the sreets is there is a real possibility for

(23:18):
Lebron James. You remember when pat Rowley told Lebron when
he left that he would leave the key under the mat.
Y'all remember that he told Braun, I'm gonna leave the
key under the mat down the line for you. Well,
the key is under the mat right now, and I
think Lebron the city of Miami will open their arms
because he's beloved. He didn't really leave Miami on a

(23:40):
bad in a bad situation. I feel like like the
fans kind of understood Lebron was wanting to make moves
and go back home then. But now being forty one,
forty two years old, can you see Lebron and Giannis
and Bam that that three headed monster.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Because Lebron, that's a headed monster.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
But Lebron can't really play that magic Johnson roll with
the with these two guys, With Joannis and Bam, Lebron
can play out of the post. It can really be
a pastor that he really is with these two guys.
So there is a possibility because the three teams right
now is go to State, San Antonio and Miami for Lebron,
there's a real possibility he has done with LA. I've

(24:18):
been tampering all off seas. I've been telling Braun directly
get out of LA because we've seen them sign off
the reads to the one eighty five.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
He got one eighty five.

Speaker 6 (24:28):
You know, there's really no. The writings on the wall,
to be honest, the righting's on the wall. They're trying
to start this new movement with Luca and Austin Reeds.
And that's fine. So if you're Lebron, why not go
to Southeast. Baby, you already got a crib out there.
You know what I'm saying. Bring Brawny with you and
let's get this. He a two point year Yeah, Bryce,

(24:49):
let's get the bongos Miami. He fans getting the bongos
out with Lebron might be coming off.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Gosh, all right, cups, you're gonna pull your You're gonna
you gonna pull your Lebron James Miami Heat Jersey back.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
Out, Bro, they said. I told my wife the other night,
I said, if that comes across my timeline and it
says Lebron has tigned with the Heat, I'm pulling. I
got all the merchant in my in my sword right now.
I can't wait, man, Seriously. The thing I love most
about the Giannis trade is when I saw Bobby Porters,

(25:24):
when I saw when I.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Saw you, Yeah, that is a nice pick up.

Speaker 6 (25:30):
I wanted Bobby Porters on the spurs. I was talking
the Spurs would go. I said, I've been I've been
staying for two weeks now since the finals ended. That's
the type of gritty stretch for Big. He can rebound,
he can score, and he's a goon. He's he's kind
of on the same line of that's your you, Donna's.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah, Bobby, Yeah, that's a good cool man. That's a good.

Speaker 6 (25:52):
Cool Yeah, he's he's your EU Donna's haslins for this
new Miami Heat regime. So now that he can just
stack these veteran because if you're a veteran right now
and you got to decide between like probably like you know,
the Nigs or those guys a strap for cash, right,
they can't really sign nobody. They're about to lose Mitter Robinson,
which is gonna hurt their chances of repeating. If you're

(26:13):
a veteran like Chris Milton, like say Thompson, like I
said before, wouldn't you want to go to South Beach
with those faun trees to play with yonnas. You're gonna
get open shops. Lord, right, You're gonna get nothing but
open shots. So I feel like it's gonna be a
repeat of twenty twelve and twenty eleven when we saw
d Wade and Bosh and Braun getting together. Where you're
gonna track a lot of guys in free agency now,

(26:35):
so it's gonna be fireworks in Miami.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Up next, Lightning, Locker Stretch, Plexico Burs, Cuffs the Legend,
rapid Fire ten seconds, no hadging, stay locked in, It's
up on game. Let's get our trending from Cuffs the Legends,
Big Brothers, Old Head O G himself, I Low otherwise

(26:57):
known as Isaac Loew and Kron.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Come.

Speaker 9 (27:03):
I feel like one of those soccer announcers saying.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
Come, hey, I loove real quick man. I got a
club funk sack of the day for you, man, let's
sell this and by in front of the world man.
I watched the draft the other night and Richie Young
or Richie Saunders from BYU the Griffies guard and got
in the second round. They said to his great grandfather
invented tater talks. So I gotta ask you, are you
a tater talk guy or French fries guy? Because I'm

(27:29):
a tater talk guy. Who you got winning a seven
game series?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
I got?

Speaker 9 (27:33):
Well, it depends on the types of French fries they
are this is a long, long discussion. If I have
to pick, I gotta go French fries, assuming they're good
French fries. But bad tater tots are better than French
than bad French fries.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Fire Sabby, Yeah, you can come out of your pocket.
You got to pick all right cuffs.

Speaker 9 (27:54):
Now, I got some words of wisdom for you now.
Earlier this week, my wife posted on social media and
I quote, if you're over forty and you don't have
a thick king cooking you breakfast in his underwear on
Saturday mornings, you definitely made some bad decisions somewhere along

(28:15):
the way.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Unquote your reaction.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Hey, I'm gonna tell you is this. My wife started
buying pastor raised eggs and they have changed my life.
So fellas get to some pastor raised eggs and start
cooking your band in the air, Friar, get healthymate.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
That's no yoke.

Speaker 9 (28:31):
I'll tell you that well, above all, above all cups,
the most important thing. Neither of us are student managers.
And with that we set the stage for today's World Cup.
Action kicks off at five pm Eastern England against Panama
in New Jersey. England can advance with a Winter at time,
Panama has already been eliminated. Also at five pm Eastern,

(28:52):
Ghana takes on Croatia in Philadelphia. Ghana advances with a
win or tie. Croatia can advance with a win and
Major League Right now, the Boston Red Sox lead the
New York Yankees won nothing in the bottom of the
second inning as the Red Sox. Masataka Yoshitah hit a
home run at the bottom of the first. Masataka Yoshitah,
oh oh okay, I mean with the World Cup in town, Hey,

(29:14):
with the World Cup and down, that's the easiest name
to pronounce that we'll have today anyway. Yoshidah's home run
was his second home run of the season off of
Garrett Cole in the bottom of the first inning. The
Houston Astros are two nothing lead at Detroit headed to
the bottom of the second inning on a two run
home run by Cam Smith, his ninth home run of
the season in the top of the second. On Friday night,

(29:34):
the Los Angeles Angels fired general manager Perry Menazian and
the former Saint Louis Cardinals GM John Moseaylock as their
interim general manager. Guys, back to you and kudos on
Nick van Exel sliding into your DMS today.

Speaker 6 (29:49):
Cuffs quick man, it's my favorite laker.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Here we go, all appreciate the update. I lo welcome
back in up on games. Cuffs the legend that's Plexico Burus.
We got a very quick four minutes to get through
the lightning locker. But that's okay because well that's why
it's called the lightning locker. So I'm gonna ask y'all questions.
Y'all got a couple seconds, like ten seconds or so
to answer the question and then we get out of there.

(30:17):
All right, here we go. Uh, by the way, pat Riley,
you know landing the Greek freak, the biggest star we've
talked about. So let's open with this. Uh Piers on
whip Bam, Yeah, I talked about Portis. Does one move
make Miami the team to beat in the East or

(30:38):
is it Nick's Celtic's heat and a dog by Cuffs.
We're gonna start with you. Jannis can't shoot from the
outside and Miami traded away Hero their best shooter. Who
is that? Does it fit? Does it work? Did rally
by the Ferrari or is there no gas go?

Speaker 6 (30:57):
I'm gonna go on a limb man. The Knicks are
the five with winning that one ring. James Bellman is
happy and content with winning at one ring. Carl Anthony
Towns cannot stop. Janna's damn gonna strap up Cat when
they play. Daveyond Mitchell gonna move to Pluffies. He gonna
play defense on Jalen Bronton. I think that the Miami
Heat are gonna win the East next year. They're gonna

(31:18):
fill out this roster. They're gonna figure it out. They're
gonna go to the finals the first year at the gate.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Uh no, no, no, no, no no no, plex no
no no no. You know what it's like when a
franchise icon forces his way out. Does more? Does Milwaukee recover?
Or is this the right clean break for Milwaukee and
Joannis go?

Speaker 9 (31:41):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (31:42):
It's a clean break for Jannis to get to Miami.
I agree with Cuffs that they will win the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
Jaylen Brown will not be uh playing for the Celtics
this year. So I got Milwaukee winning the East, But
as far as you got Milwaukee, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I'm sorry. I got Miami winning Miami.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
But as far as Milwaukee is concerned, they're that's going
to be a team that's going to be able to compete.
I don't see them, you know, rising to the Eastern
top of the Eastern Conference with this roster.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
I'll just say this, Milwaukee got young players in a
pole of picks. Now it's time to rebuild. That's what
they're going to do. I think the Bucks did get fleeced.
They did, and they got to start over it. That's smart.
But how far back does that set them? I don't
know that they'll ever recover from it. That's what I'll say.
How far are you set back? Well, I think you're

(32:35):
set back so far that you'll never recover from it.
All Right, here we go. Next, next one up? Plex
right wave or start to demand the trade? Go?

Speaker 3 (32:47):
So say it again, right wave?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
What's the right way to demand for a start to
demand the trade?

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Well? Uh, Jan has has expressed.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
His no, no, no, no, just anyone because this I
mean this this could because I'm thinking Brandon, now you
can in my head, but I mean you could stay
with you, honest, But I'm just saying, what's the right
way for a start to man the trade?

Speaker 5 (33:10):
Super quick? I mean, just come out and say you
don't want to be there. I mean, what else other
way is it?

Speaker 3 (33:16):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
I don't want to be here. Trade me and see
what see what the team does?

Speaker 2 (33:21):
I mean, okay, number two does Swordsby? Does Swordsby? Ever
get a clean slate in a locker room?

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Absolutely?

Speaker 7 (33:30):
Not?

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Biggest all in gamble you saw payoff? You know? I
mean it could be you when when the Giants took you?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
What?

Speaker 2 (33:40):
What's the biggest all in gamble you saw payoff?

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Oh? When when the New York nick Soon called Anthony.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
Towns hm hmm, okay, cuffs, that's all in all right?

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Biggest free agent Domino still to come, Robinson out, McCollum,
re ups, Lebron Allen. I did like what we got
Kawhi Clippers.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Yeah, Lebron is the big fish to everybody waiting to
see because he's gonna make a move. Lebron red strategic.
But the guy that I'm watching right now, the hired gun,
the mercenary. I want to see Kawhi Leonard. I want
to see the flaw go to Detroit Pistons. He would
be the perfect fit beside k Cunningham. As you saw
these playoffs this year, the Pistons were missing that secondary score.

(34:28):
They need Kawhi Leonard. He matches the city, he's gritty.
He can come in there. The Pittons fans will love
Kawhi Leonnard. You put him with k Cunningham. Now you're
talking real business and we might be talking about the
Pistons winning the East if they can get a guy
like Kawhile Leonard with Kate Cunningham.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Does your twenty twenty seven NBA Championship change, No hatging,
no hatching.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
Man, I'm going with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Like I
don't know if y'all watched the NBA Draft last week,
but they added a Guy Mara, a seven foot three
big man from Michigan, passer, shop blocker, rim protector. They
added Finnett's Starts from Iowa playmaker. They traded Isaiah Joe
to the Pissons. They traded Aaron Wiggins away. I think

(35:13):
you much to the Hawks. I think they are making moves.
Sam Pressy is positioning himself. He got a bad tas
in his mouth. The Spurs exposed the Thunder. They were injured,
they were missing AJ Mitchell, they were missing j dub
But I think that they're on a revenge store to
get back to that to take that champagne again. So
my pick this year, I think it's gonna be okay.
See man, they coming back you.

Speaker 2 (35:33):

Agency opens Tuesday. The Wolves went all in. It still
hasn't gone through yet, but we'll close out the show
with some bowld calls for next season. Don't go anywhere.
This is up on game. It's Cuffs the Legend and

(36:14):
that's Plexico Burris. I'm LeVar Arrington and this is Fox
Sports Radio. Will be right back, all right, Welcome back
into the show. Listen, we're coming down to home stretch,
all right, so we're gonna knock this thing down. Bowl
calls to close, We got some sound from LaVar Ball

(36:39):
let's hear what that is, and then let's get into
a couple quick conversations on our close out. Here's the
LeVar Ball Minnesota Timberwolves.

Speaker 7 (36:46):
Y'all.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Did the Colons move in a game? You wouldn't get that.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
No.

Speaker 7 (36:50):
Yes, But here's the thing. Let me give you the recipe.
You got to get the other two ball boys. You'll
get the other two ball boys. It will be the
most watched team ever in the NBA. And trust me
when I you don't think I'm just talking. No, I'm
not never cant win anybody itself. But I tell you,
with his brothers, I guarantee y'all a championship. The chemistry
and they got niggaspeeded the game. I never talked my

(37:12):
boys to play by themselves, but together you can't beat them.
And with that, ain't Rod you already a superstar? So
you know what to do. You would take a chance,
So go get them boys. You can get Lonzo damn
there for nothing. You can get Jemmo, damn, there for nothing.
That's what comes up the bench, starting, team, chemistry, morale,
in the locker room, whatever you want. Having them ball
boys together can't lose. You want the championship, get the

(37:35):
mother too, and I guarantee a championship.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Trust him, he does not.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Tell you that's a whole lot of balls. That's a
bold call to a major bass major pause. He said
you could get them balls for nothing, though, Hey boldest called.
But what was bould is called like? He made his
LeVar ball? God love him. He made his bowld call
uh and made it pitch. He's as good as Don

(38:01):
King was in his prime. Bro, what's your bowl called cuffs?
The oldest signing free agent Domino whatever this summer is
still to come.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
You took the words out of my mouth with the
Don King reference, because he is a real good salesman.
I love the confidence that he is zeus for his
children and his sons. But LaVar balls, I ain't got
the hard to tell them, Bro, you're not going to
see your sons play together with the timber Wolves. But
on the tre Agency front man Anthony Marshawn Davis Jr.

(38:31):
I spoke to my boy Ad the other night. He
is not a free agent right now, but I could
tell y'all on the record he would love to go
up there in that Minnesota snow and run with ant
Man and LaMelo Ball. Huh, that's on the ring. That
would be a great fit. You know, Rudy Gobert, you
might have to go to Washington or get traded somewhere
else in a three three team deal. But also the Lakers,

(38:54):
you got to keep an eye out on Ruey Hawki Moore.
You got Ruey Hackimore, He's an unrestricted free agent, Luke
Can unrestricted free agent, Marcus Smart is an unrestricted free agent.
There will be an odd man out. Rob Polinka, what
are you going to do? Because if you let Japanese
Jordan go, the fan base is going to be livid.
They're going to be livid because we saw Ruey Austimore
in the playoffs. He performed, He had a stellar playoff run.

(39:18):
Also on the Lakers front, Lucas Donnas has come out
on the record and says, you know, he wants an
A to one center and we all know DeAndre Ayen
is just not that guy. So if you're the Lakers,
do you make up play for one of these restrict
diffree agents Mitchell Robinson, Jalen Durham for the Pistons, or
Walker Chessler from the Utah Jazz because Luca is going

(39:39):
to get unhappy very soon, and we're gonna start hearing
some romans that Luca's not happy if you don't get
him a big man. So that's what I'm looking to
see as far as free agency. And one last thing, y'all.
I don't know if y'all saw the draft, but Danny
Ainge he is cooking up out there in Utah. The
Utah Jazz are positioning themselves to be the next Oklahoma
City Thunder and that couple of years. Just to pay attention, plex.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
We out of time.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
I wanted to give you the last word, but the
cuffs took it from if you want to give a
quick one. If you want to give a quick I agree,
I disagree. You you got it, But we got to
get out of here. Go ahead, I.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
Agree, Cuffs, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Well there you go. There you go. Listen. That's why
we bring the legend in and for that that expertise
on what he brings to the table now to do
it for us today on up on game. Thank you
to my guys, Plexing code crushed it always, Cuffs crushed
it always a pleasure, fellas, big thank you to you
know what to to obviously Chris bringing things together and

(40:42):
bo bringing things together. Our board Tech Well Tech executive
and Chris Our Showbird executive. Anyways, up on game Fox
