it's playoffs times and it's divisional round. It's the Lions,

(01:44):
it's the Buccaneers, and the Lions are six point favorites now.
While we will save our predictions for up on game
down on game, which if you stay tuned in, that
is at the end of the show, but as of
right now, let's talk about the matchup between these two teams. Listen,
the Lions come in as a what I would say

(02:06):
is a heavy favorite to win the game, no reason
why they shouldn't be. But what I will say is
as physical as this Detroit Lions team is and has
developed that personality under Dan Campbell's watch, this Tampa Bay
defense and this Tampa Bay offense specifically upfront, have shown

(02:30):
that they are as physical as any other team out there.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
As well.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Their run defense is playing phenomenally right now, and I
think that that could lead to some problems if they're
able to play this style of football against the Detroit Lions.
But on the other hand, Jared Goff is coming off
of a tremendously big win over his former team. He

(02:54):
gets to avenge his death of a career in LA
by getting the Rams, and they seem to be riding
a lot of momentum into this game against Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
How you guys looking at this, this game playing out,
this is gonna be a good game.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Like the way and obviously I had Tampa last week winning,
but the way they won, the amount of points they
put up, the way they went up and down the field,
Baker may and just chunk plays, chunk plays. It was impressive,
Like the Bucks impressed me. Baker Mayfield is playing really

(03:32):
good football. We know Todd Bowles defense is always going
to be the type of defense that wants to stop
the run and force you to throw the ball. And
so the Detroit Lions, they want to run the ball,
they want to set up that play action. It's misdirection.
Can they effectively run the ball enough to where it

(03:53):
will now open things up in the passing game? That
that's going to be the key this team. These teams
met earlier in the year, and Detroit Lions one fairly comfortable,
but I believe both teams are better, and so it
will be for me. Can the Detroit Lions run the
ball effectively enough to kind of change what Todd Bowles
wants to do? Because everybody knows you play at Todd

(04:14):
Bowles defense, they are going to stop the run.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Man, Is it me or.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Is the Tampa Bay Buckaneers in the Detroit Lines on
the cuss of going to the NFC Championship game? Chris,
what is going on in the NFL just a few
years ago? The Detroit Lines that was one of the
worst teams in football? Obviously, Tampa Bay just won championship
a couple of years ago. With Tom Brady and serted

(04:42):
Baker Mayfield into this offense. He kind of bets on hisself,
you know. He takes a you know, a player from
the deal just to you know, get off the couch
and have a job. And now he has the opportunity
to take this Tampa Bay team to the NFC Championship game. Teach,
you said it big game. It probably will. It probably will.

(05:05):
I've been that guy that didn't believe in the Detroit Lines,
you know, all year all year long. But they are
in the right place at the right time. I think
this go around, especially with Dallas losing last week, but
I think they win this game. I think they win
this game handily. I just don't think that Tampa Bay

(05:26):
is going to go He's going to be able to
go into Detroit and get this win, especially with the
magnitude and everything has at stake for Dan Campbell to
to erase and to turn this whole organization around in
basically two years, and to put them in an NFC
championship game, which is nothing less than remarkable. Man. You

(05:46):
got to give him his You got to give him
his credit.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Man.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
He has really, you know, turned this group around and
had these guys believe that they can contend in the
NFC and and hopefully a world championship. But I'm gonna
go Detroit Lines with this one. I think defensively, I
think they'll get out the Baker a little bit. He'll
make some mistakes, He'll he'll throw the you know, last week,
he threw the ball straight to a couple of guys,

(06:12):
which should have been two interceptions, but uh, they dropped him.
But I think that the Detroit lines win this game.
I think they're gonna be able to run it. I
think in the past game, Saint Mom Mom Brown is
going to have his way in the passing game. And
I just think that, you know, when it's all said
and done at Tampa Bay, they just out matched in

(06:32):
all three phases of this football game.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
So I gotta go over the lines. Let me let
me ask you guys this.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
There was the conversation uh A press conference this earlier
on and Todd Bowles was asked about the weather conditions.
Here here's the sound from the weather conditions. But listen,
as funny as it's going to appear to be, I
really have a legit question coming out at this sound.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
All right, let's take a.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Listen looking forward towards Detroit. The weather spent after it,
even for the most prepared teams today is thirteen in Detroit,
which doesn't compare to some of the temperature, to any
special plans to accivate the team to not only endure,
but perform in those converted temperatures that you face.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Them in Detroit.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
You do know we play indoors right the other a dome.
I don't.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
No nothing planning we're indoors, and we we have to
be outside for twenty seconds getting off the bus going
under the thing, so we'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
All right now, let me just start by saying, everybody
has had fun with this quote, all right, everybody's joked
around everybody.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
This is when media goes wrong, Da Dad, this, that
and the other.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I want to take a different approach to this because
I think that while people painted a picture that this
reporter was totally oblivious and should do more homework and
should know what she's talking about. I I I tend
to take a different stance on this. I think it's
a mistake not to prepare your team to be able

(08:09):
to play in in those that temperature condition. She didn't
say play in the rain, she didn't say play in
the snow. She said in the temperature that type of
temperature fellas.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I want to ask you guys a question. You guys
both played in.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Cold weather, cold weather for cold weather teams and cold
weather markets.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I did as well. I never played in a in
a warm weather market.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
But what I will say is we do not know
what the temperature is going to be inside of inside
of that that dome, inside the where they're playing, that's
that's that's hair nord there in the sense that what
I'm thinking about is soon as you touch down in Detroit,

(08:58):
there's there's the heat that you use in your hotel.
There's all kinds of different factors that play into how
you perform and how your body feels when you're leaving
a warm weather place. Just like when you go to
a warm weather place and you've been in cold a lot,
your body has to adjust and has to adapt to that.

(09:19):
And while it may have seemed like a silly question
because they're playing indoors, I don't think it's silly to
think that you should be thinking about how you get
these guys acclimated to being in cold weather, regardless of
if they're playing outside. It's more so how are you
going to regulate and how are you going to make
sure that these guys are acclimated to being in that

(09:41):
cold Like is it just pull up? You know, we land,
we pull up, we go play the game indoors, and
then we leave. Like he said, it's twenty seconds. I
think there's more to it than that. Guys, Like for me,
I'll give you a great example. I used to have
to sleep on the lower floor when when it was
snowing outside. Because the way the temperature worked in the

(10:03):
rooms when it was super cold, I would dry out
and get migraines. Like I would, I might get a
nose turn. Just turn your heat on in your room. No,
this is what I'm saying. It's because of turning the
heat on in my room, right, and so I'm up high.
I would I would dehydrate, and I would I would
get migraines because I needed heat, Like it's from the

(10:26):
heat of heating your room, and it's because it's it's
freezing cold outside. So it impacted sometimes it impacted you know,
me going into a game, because that change the temperature
is something that would impact me, you know that way
I dehydrate. Some people that have hard times with their
lungs and stuff like that. Like these are real elements

(10:48):
and our factors that play a part when you go
into extremely different climate changes for what it is you're
going to do.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
Luckily, I never had any of these difficulties or problems.
I thought Todd Bowles handled the question perfectly. I took
it out, he took it. They playing the dome. We
ain't got to worry about No, elements. This is a dome.
And when I heard that question, I thought to myself,
she knows that the Lions playing the dome, And so

(11:17):
for me, you're going from Tampa to Detroit.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Is it cold?

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Yeah, once you get in that stadium with a dome,
it's no longer cold grass on the field, play ball.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
No, I don't think it's gonna it's gonna be hard.
It's not gonna be hard for Tampa bayad. Just all
I mean sevright now, and from what I hear and
what I understand, it does get a little warm in
the Detroit Dome.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Does it get warm in there during the fourth.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Quarter, But it's not going to harm them because those
guys are probably practicing outside anyway right now. So you
put him inside the domes where there's no elements. Man, listen,
I'm undefeating the dome in my in my career. So
I love playing the dome because no elements on the football.
It was basically at indoor track meet, which we all love.

(12:05):
I'm like, man, if I had the opportunity to play
in a dome like this, I mean, you could just
put up crazy numbers. But just what tas Bull said,
they don't have anything to worry about to get acclimated
to play inside. I mean that's just like saying, uh,
you know, for basketball, nothing changes you're playing inside.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yea, it is seventy degrees inside that that don't come on.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
I mean, it's worse than that Tampa. It's worse than
that in Tampa.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'm just I mean, that is that a mystery to
not take a more more because again, she did not
say play in the rain.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
She did not say play in the snow. She said
play in the temperature.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Man, if you're an NFC football team right now, you
have nothing to worry about as far as the elements
are concerned, all the way to the Super Bowl, unless
it rains in San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
All right, Well, y'all heard it here. First.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
We had our take on this, and obviously they fall
on the side of she ain't know what the hell
she was talking about. While I'll say I do, I
do have somewhat of an agreeance with the fact that
she was unaware that they might have to deal with
being outside. I did not fully go along with saying
that she was totally unaware. I still think a team

(13:28):
should be aware of how they adapting their adjust to
what the weather is when they get to it too, they.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Should be asking her what she meant. I want to
her response to her question.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Hey bo, we need to find this lady that asked
Todd Bowles that question. We need to bring her onto
the show and we need to ask her this very question.
Can we pull this off.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Proudly?

Speaker 7 (13:49):
We will try.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
She might be busy, she might be a little busy.
I'm trying to find a new job. All right, all right,
this is up on Game. That's t J Hodgchman's that's
Plexico Burras and I'm LeVar Arrington. Or We're gonna take
a quick break. On the other side of the break,
Chiefs Buffalo, Who you got? Who you don't got? I mean,
why is this a great matchup? Is it a great matchup?

(14:14):
Is it time for the Chiefs to fall? We'll hear
from the guys on the other side of his break.
It's Fox Sports Radio. This is up on game.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
What is Up on Game?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
You asked, along with my fellow pro bowler TJ. Huschman,
Zada and Super Bowl champion. Yep, that's right, Plexico Burris.
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Up on Game.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
We're going to be sharing our real life experiences loaded
with teachable moments. Listen to Up on Game with Me,
LeVar Arrington, t J. Hutchman's auDA and Plexico Birds on
the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcast from us. Welcome back in. It's Up on Game,

(15:28):
It's Plexico Birds Is It's t J. Hutchman's hoist Silivar Arrington.
All right, we've been talking about a whole lot of
things going on in the sports world, the football world
in particular. We'll talk about a transfer from Alabama former
star dB Well, he's on the move, transferred and it

(15:49):
just has for me created conversations and questions. We'll we'll
tackle those conversation points and questions in a matter of moments.
But first let's talk about some more playoff football. Fellas
the Chiefs, they gotta travel. This is actually the first
time that Patrick Mahomes has to play on the road

(16:13):
in the playoffs since coming into the National Football League,
which is amazing. They are two two point five two
and a half point underdogs to Buffalo in Buffalo, guys,
how you guys see Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs handling
this and to that point, how do we see Buffalo

(16:34):
stepping into this situation and handling it?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
This game is for the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
They play in a cold weather city stadium, will be
played under conditions in Kansassee. So now you go to Buffalo,
it's you know, just more the same. Now you're not
gonna have the fans on your side, and so when
you had that ball on offense audible and will be
quite different that aspect of it. But the elements they're

(17:07):
familiar with that may I'm not may it will be
a little worse in Buffalo than it is in Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
But this is a.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
Chance for Mahomes to add to his legacy, to enhance's
greatness if he's able to will the Chiefs to a victory.
For Josh Allen, he's never beaten the Kansas City the
Chiefs in the playoffs beat him in the regular season,
but not the playoffs, And so for him and the
way the Bills have played down the stretch of the
regular season first round playoff game, they look impressive. And

(17:39):
so for Mahomes, is can I win on the road
because I haven't had a road game.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I've won the Super Bowl, but that's a neutral field.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
And so both teams are looking to do something that
they having done with Mahomes the quarterback when they're on
the road, and the Buffalo Bills and Josh Shallen beating
the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, with which they
have yet to do.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Hey, man, I'm just gonna put it out there. Kansas
City cheat alert. Uh oh, Kansas City cheat alert?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Uh uh.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
I mean, do you.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Guys really expect for Patrick Mahomes to drop off in
the playoffs? I know this is his first road playoff
game in his career, but man, I'm gonna say this
right now. If the Kansas City Chiefs go into Buffalo
and they win this game tomorrow, they gonna end up

(18:37):
in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Tomorrow, my apology, Tomorrow, they gonna end up in the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
I'm making my prediction because with it all these predictions all, Hey,
what it all comes down to, man, is they've been
there before. They know exactly what to expect. They are
not going to feel any less competent as a football
team being able to go and roll and Buffalo and
to win this football game because guess what, Just like

(19:03):
he just said.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
It's cold in Kansas City too, so the weather's not
going to be a factor.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
So I just want to know what Josh Allen, are
we getting tomorrow for the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills
and what Patrick Mahoons is gonna show up tomorrow, because
whoever wins this game, it's going to be solely from
the quarterback position. I believe, I believe, I believe both
defenses will be pretty good, but they're gonna be a
couple of players in this football game that these quarterbacks

(19:30):
are going to have to make to put their teams
over the top. And I'm gonna just say I'm picking
the Kansas City Chiefs to go in the Buffalo to
mar and to win this game solely because the fact
Spags has been there far as being able to dial
up a defense for one Sunday it's all we need.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Take away what they do.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Well and and whether the storm for the big plays
or whatever they coming to us, but also make big
plays on defense without blitzing. And I think that's going
to be their scheme defensively is take away what they
do well. And I think if the Keenna City Chiefs

(20:15):
want to win this game tomorrow, they have to take
away the run game from Buffalo and make them one dimensional.
Because I believe, when it's all said and done, if
Josh Allen has to throw the ball forty forty five
fifty times a game, that gives the Keen City Chiefs
more opportunity to win this game tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
All right, well, I'll tell you what we do have
up on game down on game that is coming up
in the next segment at the end of the show,
and we will have well the conversation on college. I'll
say this before we get our update. And looking at
this game, we had the question during week of whose

(21:02):
legacy is this.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
More important for?

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Is it more important for Josh Allen's legacy or is
it more important for Patrick Mahomes legacy And what it
is that that that's taking place?

Speaker 1 (21:11):
God, God, who is Patrick's Patrick.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Mahomes no doubt about it because as of right now,
I don't mean to be disrespectful, but Josh Allen doesn't
have a legacy. He hasn't made the pass the championship game.
We're talking about a two time MVP, two time world
champion and walking upon a third. Yeah, doing something that's

(21:34):
not that he hasn't done before.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
But it can't hurt him if he loses, does it
doesn't hurt his legacy, doesn't It.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Doesn't hurt him at all.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
But we're talking about him being what he is Patrick
Wan in six or seventh, maybe in his sixth.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Season something like that.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
This is his first playoff game on the road. That's incredible.
I don't think it's ever been done before. This man
is going to play his first rule playoff game in
his career. He's talking about legacy for a game that
nobody expects them to win. The way they were playing
throughout the season. You even threw them under the bustle
a couple of times and ran nobody can Cy Chiefs

(22:10):
Canci The Chiefs done?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
They done? They done? No, you did, They're gonna be
done tomorrow. But go ahead.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
I don't believe so. I believe they gonna make the
right plays at the right time to win this game.
But when it comes down the legacy.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
It's his sixth season, right, Yeah, it's a sixth season.
He goes there and win this game tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Then we started talking about whose legacy, Uh it really
is in the NFL as far as being a quarterback,
and it ain't Josh Ellen.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
What do you think, man to Both of these quarterbacks
are great.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
Obviously, Mahomes has scaled a higher mountain than Josh Shalen
because of the Super Bowl wins, in his playoff victories.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
And MVP the awards.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
I mean, now he's eclipsed everybody Buffalo for the last
few years.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Is this is their year? No, it says this is
your year. No it isn't.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
This seems to be if Buffalo is to get over
the hump, if Josh Shalen is to get over the hump,
this must be the year. The way they played down
the stretch in December where every game was a playoff game,
what was impressive. And they're not winning games the way
they've won him in everything is just relying upon Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
To throw run. They're defense is balling.

Speaker 5 (23:27):
And they're running the ball now with James Cook and
so Mahomes to me, regardless of Mahomes can do nothing
the rest of his career, he gonna go down as
one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever played. He's gonna
be in the Hall of Fame. But this for me
is more about Buffalo and Josh Shallen. Can he get

(23:48):
over the hump and beat the Chiefs in the playoffs?
Like the Chiefs are what they are, They're led by
this defense. They're not led by Mahomes and offense this year.
This defense is the catalysts to what the Chiefs are
as a football team. You take Rashi Rice out of
the game because you know that's what they want to
go to in Travis Kelce, where do they go. Sean

(24:11):
McDermott is gonna take those guys out of the game
and force somebody else to beat them. Both teams have
injuries on both sides of the ball. So that's what
makes the game interesting. And I expect a really good
competitive game. And I will be making my picking up
on game and down on game.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
All right, you heard that from TJ and plex. We
will be getting to up on game, down on game.
After the update former star Alabama dB Caleb Downs transfers
Ohio State. We have a conversation there, but first let's
get what's trended with our guy, Isaac, Lewin Kram and Lavarn.

Speaker 8 (24:45):
We begin with the Chiefs bill showdown because today Kansas
City downgraded receiver Kadarius Tony two out for tomorrow's game
at Buffalo because of ankle and hip injuries. The Chiefs
also today listed a defensive end, Charles Omena, who as
questionable to illness, and linebacker Willie Gay as questionable with
a neck injury. The Atlanta Falcons have completed an interview

(25:07):
with Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris for their head coaching job.
NFL Media reports Morris will also interview with the Los
Angeles Chargers today for their head coaching job. ATFL Media
additionally reporting Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will have
head coaching interviews today with the Falcons, Seahawks, and Chargers,

(25:29):
while Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will have head coaching
interviews today with the Commanders and Chargers. Today's action kicks
off at four point thirty Eastern from Baltimore as the
Ravens host the Houston Texans. Then tonight at eight fifteen Eastern,
it'll be the Green Bay Packers visiting the San Francisco
forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Fellas, all yours appreciate, it's Pat mahomes seventh season and
it's Josh Allen sixty about the way. Yeah, So just
to make sure for clerical purposes that make sure that's clear, Fellas,
I gotta ask the question. I mean, it's continuing to
kind of progress and grow. We see the college coaches

(26:13):
that are getting snatched away and maybe not even snatched away,
but leaving for their dream jobs or more money, bigger opportunities,
and players now have the ability to do the same thing,
enterprise their names and cash in on opportunities at different schools.

(26:34):
The latest former star Alabama dB Caleb town Downs transfers
to Ohio State. And I'm just sitting here and I'm
looking at the transfer portal and all the things that
are going on. Then you got to think about how
to transfer portal applies when coaches are leaving these schools.
I'm continuing to be of the mindset that there has

(26:57):
to be a way to figure something out where we
don't and I want to be careful in how I'm
trying to frame this, because I just feel like a
kid should have, a young man should have, a young
athlete should have the opportunity to chase their dream and
within the rules, do what it is that they need

(27:18):
to do to pursuit on that pursuit of their happiness.
But I'm almost feeling like this transfer portal in a
lot of ways is turning into a more damaging, a
more damaging entity to these young young athletes than.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
It is a you know, an asset.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
And and I'm just I'm curious, like we have now
fully fledged entered into the era of mercenary mercenary college athletes.
Now I just wonderful with you guys. Is this is
this good? And I mean, and I'm saying, listen, I

(28:00):
don't know to say, is it good for college sports?
I mean, the NCAA has been you know what they
have been for all these years. I don't care. I
could care less of what it means for the NCAA.
But as it applies to these young young athletes, to
the institutions, because there was a time where the institution
actually mattered, what.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Does this mean?

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Is this is this good for college athletics or how
do you guys view this where it's just it's just
really seeming like it's kind of out of hand almost
so to speak.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Let me ask you a question. Did you go to
Penn State because.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Like the colors, the proximity, you like the school or
these should you go play for the head coach?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Okay? And that's a great question.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
So for me, I wanted to be a counselor education, Like,
I wanted to become a counselor help help kids with
special needs, not just kids that like were physically disabled
or mentally disabled, but kids that had like more specifically
had come from crack homes and stuff like that. That's

(29:15):
what I wanted to do, and I wanted to do
it near my family. And so growing up in Pittsburgh
wanting to do that, I felt like pitt and Penn
State gave me a great opportunity to go down that lane.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
If I didn't make it in football, That's what I
wanted to do.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
If I was going to play football, I wanted my
family to be a part of my career. I didn't
want them to have to fly everywhere that that you know,
what was going on.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I wanted to be close to home where I could
drive home.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
So the answer was it was the best school and
the best opportunity for me to stay connected to my
community and stay connected to my family, and so I chose.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
It because of that.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
But it was also the reputation that was connected to
them being a linebackers school linebacker you, I wanted to
go play there based off of that that reputation as well.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Okay, so so myself I played for NIX, saving myself
of Michigan State. So a lot of these kids that
that that are going to Alabama and going to the
Clipses and going to the Georgia's, that is their fastest
route that they perceived to make it to the next level,
which is the NFL. The same exact reason why kids
go to Kentucky MM because because because you know why,

(30:29):
Calipari is is basically a one and done system. If
you want to get to the NBA, you go to Calipari.
If you want to get to the NFL, you go
to Alabama. So now these kids are afforded the opportunity
to be able to make their own decisions. So before
the n I, before the NIL happened, that was basically
two dominant three dominant programs in all of college football,

(30:53):
which is Alabama, I will say, Clipson and Georgia.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
But now after stayed in there, not as.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Being dominant in college over the last ten years. No, okay,
all right, I don't think they. I don't think they
compared to what these those three twos have done over
the past decade. So now that this has happened, it's
whole nil thing. I'd argue that the playing field has level.
There's a lot more parody in college football, and I

(31:23):
believe that's one of the wain reasons that led Nick
sat me and say, you know what, you know what
I can't.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
I can no longer get.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
The top recruits in the country because now kids looking
at you know, Oh, I can go.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Chase this bag. I'm gonna get this money. You know what.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
I might not play at Alabama, but I'm still gonna
have the opportunity to get to the league and I
can put some bread in my pocket. So that is
the opportunity that they are afforded. Now, we didn't have
the opportunity. So I don't blame them for taking full
advantage of what they are presented with. Yes, is it
a problem, Yes, it's a problem. I believe that then

(32:00):
NULE is going to have to find a way to
govern this.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Man.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
They'll have to be man. Y'all, ain't here crazy about that?

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Listen, man, these players, the players of today are doing
things that we should have been able to do.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
The NCAA has been had.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
They have a stranglehold on Oh you can't make this,
you can't make that, but you can make money off me,
but I can't make money off myself. They've been reil
roading these kids for years, rail rolling them, taking advantage
of them. Everybody's making millions except for the players that's generating.
They can't even make a dollar. Man, get out of

(32:40):
here with this. The fact if a coach leaves, a
player should leave. Oh, when you transfer, you got to
sit out a year. Why the coach ain't got to
sit out of year? Why can he just leave when
he wants to leave? But I can't leave when I
want to leave. Like all the rules that they've had
over these years should have been that they should have

(33:01):
been changed or modified. And now that it's coming to this, Oh,
I'm enter the portal. I'm going to the highest bidder.
This is what you guys created because you were greedy.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
You guys created this. You could have adjusted.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
Your rules and let the players make pennies and they
would have been satisfied and we wouldn't even be here today.
But you chose not to do it because you're greedy.
And this is where your greed has gotten you. The
fact that Caleb downs and listen, Caleb's down. Dad played
in the league, his older brothers Josh now who played

(33:38):
with the coach, who just got drafted last year in
the third round out of North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
So he has.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
Great direction in the situation and his decision making, and
so everybody doesn't have that.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
But if it's go to the highest builder bidder, so
be it.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
Because when you had a chance to change it, when
the players, when we're still and athletes, were complaining about it.
Let's go all the way back to Ed O'Bannon. He
brought this up a long time ago. Shut up, Ed,
go sit in your corner. We're not doing anything. To
another group of years another year, brought this up. Nor
shut up, we're not doing it. We're not doing anything now.

(34:18):
When it was brought to your attention and you had
a chance to do something about it, you didn't don't cry. Now,
be quiet and let it be what it is, because
your greed has caused this.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I just wonder how it impacts the kid though, because
for every downs that gets the opportunity when they hit
that portal to go chase that, you got other ones
that are chasing it that end up right on the couch,
sitting at home wondering what their next move is.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Choice and every everybody is not as going to be
fortunate as.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
That's It's not the n C A A I'm looking
at and feeling concerned about. It's it's how these young
men are being because, like I said earlier, I was
going to be a counselor.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
You know what I me, man, I wanted to go
to the league. Do y'all remember the Rocky Symposium? Yeah?
You remember the Ricky Symposium. Yeah, Choice's decision consequences. I
still remember them three words. I remember that from the
Ricky Symposium. Choice is decisions and consequences.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
Never forgot it, Yeah, yeah, hey, never forget Hey, never
forgot those three words, bro, never forgot it, man. So
choice's decisions and consequences. Man, it works out for some
and not for others.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Hey, it's a conversation that's going to continue on because
it is an era that is very real with people
making choices and they're being decisions and also ultimately they're
being consequences.

Speaker 1 (35:41):

Let's creak this up.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Let's break it up game.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
All right?

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Both, let me get back to dominate these two dudes
that's going to become analysts for.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
What we got this week. Both, Yeah, so real quick.

Speaker 7 (37:19):
Last week, TJ leading the way.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
With nine, correct like I always do.

Speaker 7 (37:23):
Black's coming in at seven, and then Lar coming in
with four.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
Yeah, okay, I just want you to feel good about yourself.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
It's a new we might have to play the hell
last year, that's all. Let's go, all right, We're.

Speaker 7 (37:40):
Gonna start here with the Texans singing on the Ravens
in Baltimore. The Ravens a nine and a half point favorite,
with the over under said at forty three and a
half points. So TJ has the leader in the clubhouse.
What do you got here?

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Ah, this is tough man. I'm gonna take the Ravens.
We know they gonna win. I'm gonna take them to cover.
That is a lot of points in the playoffs. That's
a lot of points. I say they win this game
twenty seven to thirteen, which will be an under on

(38:14):
the points.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
So I'm taking the Ravens in the under.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Hey, you know what, may Man, I gotta agreement. I'm
taking the I'm taking to Baltimore Ravens, and I think
they win by I think they win by ten, so
they cover the nine and a half, and I'm also
going under the forty three points.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Man.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
Conventional wisdom wants to say, rookie quarterback, rookie coach, they
find out what veterans look like today in this playoff,
But I just don't buy it. So I'm going with Houston.
I think they will. I think they'll keep it closer
than nine points. It'll be less than that. And I'm
gonna take the over on the points. I think they're
gonna score some points in that game.

Speaker 7 (38:51):
All right. Next up, we have the Green Bay Packers
and Jordan Love heading to San Francisco to take on
Brock Purty and the forty nine ers Niners. A ten
point favorite in this one, and the total currently said
it fifty one.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
You know what, I am going to take the Sam
FRSUS School forty nine ers and I'm going over the points.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
I'm gonna take the under.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
I'm gonna take the under and I'm taking then I'm
taking the Niners on the points.

Speaker 5 (39:22):
So another large spread, which scares me. But I'm gonna
take the Niners and I'm gonna go under because it's
raining in California and I don't know how well they're
gonna be able to throw the ball in his rain,
all right.

Speaker 7 (39:33):
Next up, we have the Buccaneers taking on the Lions
in Detroit. Detroit a more reasonable six point home favorite
here and the total currently said it forty nine and
a half per DraftKings.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
I'm taking I'm taking Tampa Bay on them points and
take the under.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I'm gonna take the under on the total.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
Man, I'm taking the Detroit line. I think they went
about two touchdown. It's gonna be a kickwalk game for them,
and I'm taking I'm taking the over on the points.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Wow, did on what mister birds just said? I'm taking
the Lions and over. Oh this is my week, all right?

Speaker 7 (40:04):
Last one real quick, the Chiefs and the Bills. Bill's
a two and a half point favorite, total set at
forty five and a half.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
I think the Bills cover and I'm gonna take the under.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
I'm going Kansas City and I'm taking the under.

Speaker 5 (40:18):
I'm taking the Buffalo Bills. Josh Shallen finally defeats my
homes in the playoff game in under.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
