Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sixteen professional handicammers, twenty five dollars on the line. This
is the Circle Friday Football Invitational on Fison, the Sports
Betty Network. Here's your host, Matt Humans.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
That's football Friday night in Las Vegas, and we're also
going to talk some baseball. Derek Stevens, owner of Circuit
Resort and Casino in studio, and Derek's fired up because
of the Detroit Tigers are on to the next round,
Week five of the Circle Friday Football Invitational, and we'll
get to the standings and talk football here in a
couple of minutes with Derek. You have a big trip
(00:37):
planned this week, right going back to watching the Tigers
play the Cleveland Guardians.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, we were ready. We were all petting up, ready
to go. We're gonna go to game three in Houston
on Thursday, but there was no gate Ojo. We kind
of re evaluated things and we're going to watch football
here the world's largest sports book right behind us. I'm
gonna come in meet Stormy on the show Sunday morning,
watch football, enjoy that during the day, and then boom,
(01:04):
we're flying right out to Cleveland. So we'll get there
Sunday night and be primed and ready to go on Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Morning, just gonna stay for one game or two.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Well, we're going for game two, so we're gonna Watchitch
on Monday and then we'll be back here Monday night.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Okay, all right? So are you optimistic about the Tigers
here in this series?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yes, I am.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I figured you would be. How about this. I'm going
to show you this from a vsin viewer from Denver, Colorado,
Tom Minusian. He made this bet for the Tigers to
have the most wins and MLB in the month of
September at eighty five to one odds, and he went
down to the last day of the season on Monday,
(01:45):
needed the Mets, I believe, to lose a game and
that doubleheader against the Braves to cast the ticket, and
he hit it. Do we have the graphic that we
can show of the VSIN fan who won the bet?
I don't think we have it. I thought thought we
had it, but we don't. But anyway, big cash for
him on the Tigers. And how about that. It's an
(02:05):
unlikely story, Derek. When you go back to the trade
deadline at the end of July and the Tigers traded
off one of their top pitchers Jack Flaherty to the
Dodgers and then about ten days later they're going an
unlikely run to get to the playoffs and then go
to Houston and knock off the Astros in two games.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, really amazing. I mean, I know people said they
were selling when they got rid of Flarity, but boy,
what a trade that was. I mean, you picked up
Sweeney in that deal. A lot of people didn't think
Sweeney was ready to go, but they brought them up
shortly thereafter they eliminated Hovey Bay As this part of
the part of that, part of that as well.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
And yeah, they went on they went on a run.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
It's great to see my old hometown to see coo
America Park fired up, i mean sold out every game.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
The energy was high.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's very cool and it certainly Game three, Game four
at co America Park is going to be off the charts.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
There's the graphic of the bet that Tommnusian made and
it's eighty five to one on the Tigers. Small bet there,
but he wins over two thousand on it. And the
Tigers open against the Guardians in Cleveland on Saturday. That's
an early game. Also, the Mets and Phillies Saturday afternoon
in Philadelphia. That's going to be a wild series. And
(03:20):
Royals Yankees Saturday afternoon. And Derek Stevens, you're also a
Padres guy. You've had a business relationship with the Padres
for a few years. Dylan Seese excuse me, Dylan Seas
and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are going to go in Game one
in LA on Saturday night. And Dodgers Minus won twenty
five in his first game and also about that same
(03:42):
price in the series. That's going to be a hell
of a series between the Padres and Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Oh my gosh, it should be unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
You know, I know Saturday is going to be a
great college football day, but talk about a baseball day.
Four game ones, I mean, this is this is amazing.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
And Sunday night you're gonna have Cowboys, Steelers and Podres Dodgers. Yeah,
game two. It's a hell of a lineup. Actually, I think,
what are you mostly looking forward to Sunday? The baseball?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
I'm most I'm looking forward to no full slate of
NFL football, of course, yeah, of course. But then I'm
really looking forward to to Tigers, Guardians, on Monday and
then you know we're gonna be flying back. We're gonna
hopefully catch the back end of the Chiefs game back
here on Monday night.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
All right, let's talk about Circus Survivor and how many
have survived through four weeks as we get the week
number five. We had a wild game on Thursday night,
and how many contestants actually do we have going into
week five?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Going into week five, we have four hundred and eighty
live circus survivors going into week five. I am sure
that we had contestants in and on Thursday's game.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
I don't know that. I don't know what side. I'm
not well, I do, I do, but it's not fair
to say so. Uh but but but we have we have.
We had contestants on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
That was a wild one that the Buccaneers should have won.
They blew it by allowing the game to even get
to overtime and then the Falcons win it on a
walk off touchdown thirty six thirty last night? How was
that result for the sports book? It flies over I
think most games it seems like the book needs the under.
And was it a big result for you last night
or not?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
You know, it was.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
It was ah, it was a good result for the book,
but it was not a heavy volume event yesterday. Yesterday
was a little odd betting wise. Uh. We saw this
in all five states that we were in. It was
(05:47):
just it was just not a heavy betting day. I
was a little surprised. Maybe the matchup had something to
do with it, but but all five states it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
It wasn't people.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
People were not rushing to the phones or rushing to
the counters to get down.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
At I can understand that too. I mean, it turned
out to be a hell of a game, but the
nation doesn't get excited about Buccaneers Falcons necessarily, right, that's true.
And that was a Thursday night game and it was
actually a really good one. We're going to break down
the entire Sunday card and tell you where the money
is behind the counter here in a couple of minutes, Derek,
(06:20):
let's take a look at the standings for the Circa
Friday Football Invitational, and we have some disappointing news to report.
One of the twenty five contestants did not get her
plays in by the deadline at five pm Pacific, And
here are the standings. Tied at the top Las Vegas
pro betters Scott Pritchard and Steve Fezick, each with twenty
(06:41):
total points. How about Scott Pritchard four and oh on
his best bets, He's eighteen and ten against the spread.
Fesik nineteen to nine, two and two in the best bets.
And again we use Circa Sports lines as of noon
on Fridays. You have five hours to get your picks in,
so no excuses if you can't get them in, and
everyone uses the same numbers. The lines are locked in
(07:03):
at noon on Friday. Chris Piper, former Coach Champ and
the Circus Survivor and second and half point back. Piper
went seven to oh two weeks ago when he barely
got his picks in before the deadline. Fortunately he did.
He's three and one on the best bets. He's going
to be in studio in the final hour tonight. Mark Lawrence,
professional handicapper out of Florida is not one and eleven
(07:24):
as the show's there on the graphic, but Mark does
have eighteen and a half points, three and one on
the best bets. He is in fourth, tied for fifth.
You just heard from Chris Maserro Pro Sports better out
of San Diego. He is tied with Kelly Stewart for
fifth and Kelly Stewart four and oh on the best Bets.
Her record is not going to change this week. She
(07:44):
is going to take a zero oh no, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Kelly, Oh no, Kelly, Kelly four to oh on best bets.
That's disappointing, They tell your viewing audience. Everybody's been texting
me like Kelly's Kelly's unbelievable on the best bets?
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Are you serious?
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I'm serious. Kelly Stewart fifteen, a proxy four and zer
on the best of all. Well, she was busy tweeting
all afternoon. If you follow her account at Kelly and Vegas,
you had plenty of time to tweet, but not enough
time to get her picks in this afternoon.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Apparently, Oh that hurts.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
That does hurt, especially in your Fournoh she she will
take a zero and zero nothing eight just no, nothing
added to her record. Rounding out the top ten, the
Iceman Chuck Edtel Las Vegas pro better James salinis former
Westgate Super Contest champ and VSEN host. And how about
Alex White, daughter of a Kenny White, longtime Las Vegas
(08:33):
ods maker Alex White right there in the top ten
with sixteen points two and two on her best bets,
tied with Selenas and then tied for tenth. Chris the
Bear Felika the champ in this contest in twenty twenty two,
and Pete Wilder this year's average Joe. And you know
Tony Gordon well derba Phi he was the Circumlion champ
(08:56):
in what twenty twenty one?
Speaker 3 (08:57):
It looks like he must have had a good, good
week four war here he kind of he kind of
shot up from where he was last week?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Did he did? Tony Gordon? Also, by the way, he
still has one entry left in the Circus Survivor, But
he's already used the Seahawks, He's already used the forty
nine Ers. Who do you think he should use this week?
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (09:20):
You know, I've been telling everybody I think I think
the Seahawks will be the number one selection.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
But after that, tough call, isn't it, Especially if you've
got the Seahawks and the forty nine Ers scratched off
your list? Where do you go next? The Commanders, the.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Bears, Steelers, Steelers, Commanders. You can't you can't take the Jaguars. Jaguars,
it's been all Jaguar money all day. Oh my goodness.
It's tough to. It's tough to. It's tough to take
the Chiefs right now. I mean, Chiefs are you know,
one of the teams that is doubly important because it's
(09:56):
a Thanksgiving and Christmas team.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
So if you're sitting here in week five trying to
figure out what to use, you're not going to use
the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Right I would not use the Chiefs. I think that
I think they're too valuable to hold. Plus, when you
want to use the Chiefs, you're gonna have multiple opportunities
to use the Chiefs when.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
They're double digit favorites. I don't know that I want to.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I want to blow them in week five and then
and then really box yourself in a Thanksgiving and Christmas exactly.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
That's a card you think you have to hide up
your sleeve for later in the season. In fact, I
don't even like the Chiefs on Monday Night. Anyway.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Well, there you go, all mean that answered that would
answer your question for sure.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
They're four and oh and a few plays away from
being one and three, and I think they could be
in some trouble on Monday Night as well. You get
into the strategic strategical part of this pretty deep. But
you can't use the Chiefs on Monday night, right if
you're planning on if you look at the big picture
of this contest, you can't burn the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I don't think you can not right now. It just
doesn't make sense to me. And realize, if you get
knocked out in week five or you got knocked down
at Christmas, guess what it's about.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
It's about the same.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Now, maybe you could be smart enough to head your
way out or monetize in a way you do want
to get there, But I don't know does the Chiefs really.
It's not as if the Chiefs are a twelve point favorite.
And I agree with you. I agree they look a
little vulnerable.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
All right. We'll run down the rest of his standings
here later in the show, and again we have a
loaded guest list. Matt Grissom. He's not just a college
baseball guy. He went seven and oh in the Average
Joe contest last week.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Grissom.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
That's awesome, Grissom, seven and a half of it. He's
going to be on the show here in the first
hour Big Randy McKay Hour number two along with Chris Piper.
All Right, Derek Stevens and I will break down NFL
Week five on Sunday when we come back quick break
here in the Circle Friday Football Invitation.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
This is the Circle of Friday Football Invitational on Vson,
the Sports Betty Network.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
All Right, welcome back Week five of the Circle of
Friday Football Invitational and Derek Stevens, we're gonna run down
the NFL schedule. And before we do that, Matt Grissom
seven and oh, last week in the Average Joe contest,
we had over one hundred and fifty contestants started out
in that contest. And you know, Matt Grissom, you're a
college baseball guy. So is he He's not just a
(12:37):
baseball guy.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Oh, he is the college baseball insider.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
We had a great opportunity to hang out a little
bit in Omaha this year. And you know, just during
the break, I was talking to the Big Boss belady
over here and said, maybe we have to get Matt
Grissom a bit more involved. As we take Visa down
the road to Omaha, there's a lot you know, there's
a lot of reasons why we're having this to Omaha.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Two are the great sponsors we've had here on Bison,
Omaha Steaks and Brooklyn's Best Pizza, which delivered five pizzas
to the studio tonight, and Brooklyn's Best Sponsors the best
bet portion of this show. All right, Derek, let's run
down the schedule here. Week five, we're going to start
in London with the Jets and the Vikings. That's a
six thirty am kickoff here Pacific time, and the look
(13:22):
a headline was Jets minus two and a half. That's
not the line.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Now, no, no, it's it's flipped. I mean Vikings Vikings
there two and a half point favorite. Now at this
point we opened Vikings one and a half and went
to two and a half and sat at two and
a half the rest of the week.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
The only thing we've seen of note in the.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Last forty eight hours is that the total is ticked
up a bit from forty to forty and a half.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
So that's really the only thing that's had any change.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Probably not a big decision on that game because it's
such an early kickoff on So.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Yeah, it'll be, it'll be.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
It will be the lightest lightest handle of any game
on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
All right, how about Panthers Bears and uh, Panthers get
a win here in Vegas, but that's the only win
so far this season. Bears might be a team you
would consider in Survivor.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
That's true. I mean Bears.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
You know it dipped to a three and a half,
but there was Bears money that came right back. So
Bears are four and I do agree with you. There's
there's a little bit of a thought that maybe the
Bears are going to be selected by a few. But
the question is are the Panthers. Are they going to
play like they did when they were in Vegas or not?
So if you take the Bears, you're not going to
(14:39):
feel comfortable.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Oh no, you're not. You aren't coomfortable with most of
these sides you're going to take no matter what. But uh,
Andy Dalton the red Rifle and the Panthers played much
better last week two against the Bengals, even though they
lost by ten. All right, this is a good one.
Ravens and Bengals. Bengals are a four letter word around
here because if not many people out of Survivor, but
(15:01):
Bengals home Dogs in this AFC North game.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yeah, home Dogs. I mean that that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
I mean, this is a this is a this is
a rivalry that you know, these games have always been
played tight. To have the Ravens a two and a
half point favorite, we have not seen any love on
the Ravens.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
I do not see this going to three.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
I think there's way too much, way, wait, way too
many reasons for people to want to take take shots
on the Bengals at home plus points or on the
money line effectively.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
All right, how about the Bills and the Texans in Houston?
And uh, this is a pick him game for much
of the week.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
We have a favorite, Yeah, we do, we we We
announced a favorite at about eleven o'clock this morning.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
That we called this to went to Texas, the Texans.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Uh, you know, we were at pick throughout the week,
but but it flipped over to the Texans. So we
got the Texans that have won the the total state
steady throughout the whole week. It's never fluctuated. It's not
a solid number of forty seven. And we've got two
way actually on the total of the whole week.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Okay, how about the Jaguars zero and four? But they
are home favorites against the Colts.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Yeah, they are.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
You know, we we had to we had we had
to bump this thing down. We went from three to
a two and a half minus twenty yesterday and and then.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
This morning it came right back, right back to the three.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
So so it's it's on a solid number Jags of three.
I mean, could you take It's hard to believe, you know,
you're gonna lay points with Jacksonville, but but this is
certainly the situation. Obviously, the injuries Indianapolis is what's causing this.
So it's it's solidly on a three at this point.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Jonathan Taylor, Colts running back, one of the many who
were going to miss this game, and Jaguars two and
a half on the contest cards more attractive as a
contest played this week. And by the way, the Colts
have lost eight straight road games against the Jaguars.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
There you go, there's a trend for you.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
I actually lost nine straight, but one was in London,
so it's been a long time since the Colts won
an away game against the Jaguars. The ugly game of
the week in the NFL, and that's saying something. Dolphins
Patriots yeah, Dolphins Patriots. You know, we announced a favorite
on this one too. It it went Dolphins, So we
were at pick all week. We went to a one
with the Dolphins on, as you said, an ugly game.
(17:16):
But how do you go from a game that's pick
them and then all of a sudden, Miami becomes a
one point favorite, and at the same point the total
goes from thirty six and alfter thirty six.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
That just tells you all you need to know. This
is a lousy game.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Two of the worst scoring offenses in the NFL. The
Dolphins actually last at eleven point three points a game.
And Derek, it's so odd to see a total dis low.
I'm seeing thirty five and a half out there in
the market when there's no weather involved, no bad weather. Yeah,
thirty five and a half the total for Dolphins Patriots.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Oh weather.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
You know, I'd like to I'd like to hear from
some of the some of the audience members, and I'm
talking about some teasers and these you know, these alternate
line teasers at some point, but when you look at
some of the some of the books out there that
give you not just the six or seven point teasers,
but they'll give you a fourteen point teaser on a total,
(18:09):
so you can take Patriots over twenty two and put
that into your teaser. I realized the pay is that
you've got to find a couple of others, but at
some point that there's there's clearly more value and something
like that. Then on a game where the total is.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Fifty two, well, it's another game with the low total
coming up. We can talk about that in the second.
First of all, the Washington Commanders, how hot have the
commander has been Jade and Daniels rookie quarterback? And the
Browns are not hot? Deshaun Watson and the Browns here
three and a half point underdogs and DraftKings. What do
you have here at CIRCA?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
We're at a We have the Commanders a three minus
minus one fifteen. I'm actually surprised it's not a little
bit a little bit higher. I think it's going to
go to three minus twenty, and I think we have
a chance to go to three and a hook here
before kick.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Seems like the Cleveland side is going to be a
contrarian side for some this week. With the Commanders playing
their a game back to back weeks, winning at Cincinnati,
in Arizona. All right, here's an ugly one Raiders Broncos
in Denver and Derek another low total here Broncos three
point favorites.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Yeah, we had we had it opened at thirty seven,
went down to a thirty six, we opened it at Broncos.
A one tells you the state of how the market
views the Raiders. One to a, two to a two
and a half, two and a half minus twenty and
now we're at a three. Broncos are a three point
(19:33):
favorite and a thirty six total in Denver.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
And the Broncos won ten to nine over the Jets
last week with a quarterback bo Next who attempted twenty
five passes and threw for sixty yards. It seems impossible,
but they won the game. All right, Cardinals and forty
nine ers, And again you would think most Circus Survivor
remaining contestants probably don't have the forty nine ers available
right at this point, right right, But what do we have?
(20:00):
Your Niners?
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Seven seven minus one fifteen, So effectively, the Niners are
the biggest favorite on the board, so seven minus one fifteen,
But you're right within Circus Survivor.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Most contestants have already have already shot.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Them, including last week.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Packers Rams, Packers Rams went
from a three to a three, and we're three and
a half even, Packers three and a half point favorite
down the road.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
We saw a little.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Movement this morning on the under went from forty nine
down to forty and a half.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
All right. The Packers receivers Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watson
both listed as doubtful in that game Giants and Seahawks,
and the Giant's going to be without rookie wide receiver
Molik Neighbors.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yeah, and I think you see that reflected in how
the numbers moved, you know, open at a six went
to a six and a half, six and a half
double juice. We were at six and a half double
throughout the day and then just this afternoon, it just
keep it just keeps piling in on Seattle.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
We're up to a seven.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
That's why I think Seattle is going to be the
number one selection if they If you have the availability
in Circus Survivor.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I think several used the Seahawks in Week one like
I did. If not, the Seahawks would be a good
choice this week. If you still have him available, all right.
My co host on v some Primetime, Jonas von Tobel,
says he didn't care about Cowboys Steelers on Sunday night.
He wants to watch Padre's Dodgers, but this is a
good Sunday night matchup. And Derek, we had just a
bit of a line move here on Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Yeah, we had a we had a line move. This happened.
This happened here this afternoon. We went from a two
and a half to a three. We saw a lot
of Pittsburgh money, show up, show up this afternoon.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Cowboys beat up the Dallas defense without Micah Parsons and
DeMarcus Lawrence. And Monday night game we talked about a
little bit Chiefs hosting the Saints.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
YEP, five and a half forty three.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
We expect to have a tremendous amount of action on
this game, but it hasn't showed yet. It's just it's
just too early. But we're gonna see a ton of
action on the game. So five and a half forty three,
and that's where we've been sitting the last couple days.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah, the sixes in the market seem to have disappeared.
I don't see any sixes out there. If you're looking
for the plus on the Saints. All right, that's Derek Stevens.
Here's a circuit resort and casino. Derek, have a great
trip to Cleveland, and we'll see you back here Monday night.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Right, that's good.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
All right, Then we're gonna roll on here in the
Circuit Friday Football Invitational, Week number five and again the
co leaders right now, Scott Pritchard and Steve Peasant, Las
Vegas pro betters. Matt Grison went seven and l last
week in the Average Joe Contest and he'll join us
next with his best bets.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
This is the Circle Friday Football Invitational on VSON, the
Sports Betty Network.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
All right, westmon Stratman was the original Average Joe Western
out of Nashville, Tennessee. He had so much success in
the contest in the initial year top five finisher, that
we brought the Average Joe back. Last year. We had
an intense competition for the Average Joe ends up being
Pete Wilder out of Los Angeles, and Pete is in
the top ten of the contest right now, so doing well.
(23:37):
Matt Grissom is in the Average Joe contest here in
the Friday Football Invitational and Grissom you're in the top
ten in the standings seven and L last week you
joined us now in the progressive guest line, I assume
from your home in Arkansas. Nice job last week with
a seven to zero. What was the secret to your success?
College NFL or a mix of both?
Speaker 6 (23:59):
Stuck to what on college football?
Speaker 2 (24:02):
And the Arkansas Razorbacks too. They were a winner for
you last week.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
Right Stam Pittman is a covering machine. But I think
the buck stops this weekend is the volunteers are in
town and I'll be in attendance for it. I'm actually
sitting in a hotel in Fayetteville right now.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
All right, let's talk about that game because Tennessee obviously
a favorite of the betting public. The Valls rolled into Norman,
Oklahoma and beat the Sooners a couple of weeks ago,
and the betting public was all over Tennessee in that
game and got the money. Tennessee a thirteen point favorite
right now at CIRCA it was thirteen and a half.
This afternoon. We're seeing a lot of fourteens out there
(24:39):
in the market. Valls at Hoggs and You're actually gonna
surprise me here and take the road favorite, right.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yeah, I am.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
It worries me because this line our power ratings on
College Football Insiders dot com. If you haven't checked it out,
go check it out. The projections have Tennessee minus twenty
three and my power rating have Tennessee minus sixteen. This
line has stayed still despite I think ninety percent of
the money coming in on Tennessee, and that worries me.
(25:10):
Sam Pittman's not very good at home for whatever reason,
especially in the home dog role.
Speaker 6 (25:15):
I think he's four and five.
Speaker 7 (25:17):
But interestingly enough, as I tried to talk myself into
a reason why I should take Arkansas, not just because
I'm a fan, but in night games at Fayetteville, Sam
Pittman's five and one, and that's straight up. He upset
Ole Miss Texas a couple of years ago that most
people will remember. Our only loss was to b YU
(25:40):
last year, which I think at one point we had
a ninety nine percent win probability. Shocker, the Hogs gave
it up. But I just I think Tennessee they're they're tested.
I mean, you could make the case that they haven't
really faced a pass offense like what Taylor green can be.
But on the flip side, we haven't really seen Taylor
and Green bee that great. I think they'll bottle up
(26:03):
the run with the Quinn and Jackson as good as
he's been. Arkansas is good at going on the road
as a dog and covering, but for whatever reason, they
can't do it at home.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
So I think it's it's go Valls here.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
All right. Matt Grissom with us and you can follow
him on Twitter at Grissom on X and also at
NCAA Insiders. All right, So what was the number you
said Tennessee was a twenty three or twenty three and
a half point favorite on NCAA Insiders. Your projection on
that game, what did you make the Michigan Washington number?
And which side you're gonna play or are you going
to play? The total in that game it's.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Less than half a point.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
It's actually in favor of Michigan, but I'm going to opposite.
I laid the one and a half with Washington. Obviously
I like it better on the money line, but for
the contest, Washington minus one and a half.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
I think Jedfish is doing a great job there. I
really like the.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Quarterback to transfer from Missippi State, and Michigan just looks
bad and they're traveling on the road for the first
time this season. I think Washington's going to be ready
for it. And both defenses are good, but obviously the
edge to offense goes to Washington.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Yeah, I'm with you here. I'm on the Washington against
Michigan two and again talking about the Michigan offense. Alex
Orgy promoted the starting quarterback two weeks ago through for
thirty two yards against USC and eighty six last week
against Minnesota, and the Wolverine's played all five of their
games in an arbor. This is their first road game
against the Huskies, who Alkane Rutgers five twenty one to
(27:33):
two ninety nine and that three point loss last week.
Will Rogers quarterback for the Huskies. Seventy five percent completions,
ten touchdowns and no picks, big quarterback advantage, strong home field.
Hopefully we get there with the Washington Huskies all right?
Saturday night a big game in Berkeley. Are you on
the Miami col game with the Hurricanes ten and a
(27:55):
half point road favorites.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
I am Cal plus ten and a half coming off
a big emotional win, controversial win against Virginia Tech. Miami's
now got to travel across the country. I think everybody
has talked about that. You've got game day there. Berkeley
is kind of a sleepy little town. I think Miami
showed a lot of their flaws. I think a lot
of people thought they may be a little overrated cam Ward,
(28:20):
He's had his ups and downs through his career. And
I think California they're a solid team, and they'll be
able to run the ball against Chris Ball's defense. And
I don't know if they can win outright, but I
think cal keeps it close, especially within that ten and
a half number.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Have you bet against Miami yet this season, because I'm
on cal here too, and I've been burned a couple
of times. I played Florida as a home dog South
Florida as a home dog and lost both of those
against the Hurricanes.
Speaker 6 (28:48):
Yeah, I was on Florida.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
And you know the good news about that game is
you knew that you lost the bet in the first quarter.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
It was over.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Well, that's true too, all right, get it out of
the way. How any NFL sides or totals have you
played in the contests so far, we're through four weeks,
twenty eight plays. You played all college last week and
all college this week. Have you done much NFL?
Speaker 7 (29:12):
I think I've played maybe three or four games, but
college is my bread and butter. You make fun of
me about letting me into this contest when you said,
you know, it's not a college baseball contest, but it
is college football, and knock on wood, I do pretty
well at that, so I'm just going to stick to it.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Well, Derek Stevens calls you the number one college baseball
guy and he was fired up. You're going to be
on the show, and I think you guys were planning
another outing to the College World Series in Omaha next year.
But again, if you follow Matt Gchrism at NCAA Insiders,
you get plenty of college baseball handicapping as well as
college football. All right, So I don't know all of
your plays yet. I think you just put them in
(29:49):
for the Average Joe Contest. Again. Matt Grissom's seven and
l last week in the Average Joe Contest on vsen
dot Com and Grissom, I'm going to guess that, Well,
why don't you go ahead and tell me because I
can't remember the fourth or fifth games you said you
played this week.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
So I took the under in SMU and Louisville. I
think both of these defenses. You don't really think of
SMU Louisville as a defensive battle, that it's mostly offense,
but I think that both of them have solid defenses.
And after a really physical game that Louisville just played
against Notre Dame's defense, I think Rhet Lashley finally has
(30:28):
settled on a quarterback and I feel like that's going
to be the biggest difference.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
SMU.
Speaker 7 (30:33):
Also plus six and a half is I would have
loved the touchdown that wouldn't give it to me in
the contest. So Kevin Jennings has really hit his stride
for SMU, and I think Louisville may have played their
best game they could have played last weekend. So until
I see more of their strength of schedule is still
pretty weak. And I know SMU got off to a
rocky start, but I really like Rhet Lashley and what
(30:56):
he's done with Jennings.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
So let's go Mustangs, all right.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
SMU Louisville under the total of fifty six. That's number
three nineteen three twenty on the rotation. Let's take a
look at the average Joe standings here through four weeks ago.
We had one hundred and fifty eight contestants at the
start of the contest. Typically, if a few are doing poorly,
they may drop by the wayside along the way. But
(31:22):
I've been pretty strong in terms of the number of
contestants who've stuck with it so far. But Steve Cohen
tied for first. That's not the Steve Cohen who's the
program director here at v SIN, but he is tied
for first with Frank Kearney right now and Matt Grissom
in the top ten of the average Joe contest Grissom
(31:43):
there you can see it's Steve Cohen, Frank Kearney, and
Matt Grissom in seventh right now eighteen and ten, three
and one on the best bets nineteen and a half
total points. Steve Cohen and Frank Kearney tied for twenty
one and a half. And you can find the standings
in all the plays up there at vsin dot com. Uh,
Matt Grisson, we have time for one more play if
(32:04):
you want to analyze one more from your best batt
list of seven? What do you have here?
Speaker 7 (32:09):
So I'm on UCF minus one and a half. But
that's not really the one I want to talk about
because we know kJ Jefferson. He's a hit or miss,
and I feel like Florida is just bad.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
I think UCF should win that one.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
But Arizona State minus two and a half versus Kansas,
I think we've seen what Kansas is and I know
Jaalen Daniels has had a good career when he can
stay healthy, but this year he doesn't have a backup
quarterback to come in. Arizona State coming off a bye
with Kenny Dillingham, I really like what he's done. They
can work cam Skadibo in that rotation and just grind
(32:46):
out the clock if they get a small lead. And
I've been burned betting against Arizona State a couple times
this year, but the times I've bet on him, they've
they've came through for me. So I am on Arizona
State minus two and a half. I think the Sun
Devils can get it done.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
All right? You actually named off I think six of
the seventh plays. What is your seventh play that we
didn't talk about, which is your best bet this week.
Speaker 7 (33:12):
My best bet is Tennessee minus thirteen and okay, and
it's going to be one of those just bittersweet moments.
If people followed me along in college baseball, you know
I was riding out a big ticket on the balls
to win the national championship in baseball.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
They did, so I have ball's shirts.
Speaker 7 (33:29):
My wife is actually gonna wear all Tennessee Falls stuff tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
So yeah, that's my best bet.
Speaker 7 (33:36):
I think I think Tennessee probably beats us like forty
one to twenty.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
All right, that's Matt Grissom again. Grissom on X seven
and L last week in the Average Joe contest. Grissom,
have a great time in the Tennessee Arkansas game.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Thank you very much. I'm sure you just chinked me.
Speaker 8 (33:51):
Oh and seven in coming.
Speaker 1 (34:16):

to the circuit Friday Football Invitational and in the second
hour of tonight's show on VS Primetime, Christmassero Pro Sports
(35:30):
Better out of San Diego joined the show and Chris
off to a good start. Right now fifteen twelve and one,
three and one on his best bets. We got Chris's
analysis on his seven plays in the previous hour. Let's
go ahead and run down Chris's plays here. Follow him
on Twitter at Real Gage Gadge, and he's going to
(35:54):
be opinionated during the baseball playoffs and the football weekend.
If you follow him on Twitter all right, so yes,
right now? His best bet this week Yukon minus seventeen
against Temple, and again in three and one on his
best bets. And this year we made a change in
the contest best bet record in the past was used
for tiebreaker purposes only this year, a best bet winner
(36:17):
is worth one and a half points. Someone asked me
last week, what is a What if you push on
a best bet, what's that worth? Well, it's worth a
half point just like a normal play. You have to
win the best bet to get a point and a
half credit. So Chris has four and a half points
on his best bets and right now seventeen points total,
(36:38):
which puts him in the top five of the Friday
Football Invitation with Christmas Aero best bet Yukon minus seventeen
versus Temple. The rest of his plays Penn State minus
twenty eight and a half against UCLA, laying a big
number on a couple of college favorites. There also some
unders on his card, how about Hawaii San die State
(37:00):
under the total of forty eight and a half, Jets
Vikings under forty and a half and Monday Night Saints
Chiefs under forty three He's also got two small favorites
on the college side, Washington minus one and a half
against Michigan and Dolphins minus one and a half against
the Patriots. Sor right, those are Christmas earros seven plays
(37:22):
for this week, Let's get to Rob Brandt, and Rob
is a co champ of the Circus Survivor from last
year and last week. Rob is in studio if you
want to follow him. At Indiana Jet Rob twelve thirteen
and three fourteen total points, one and three on the
best bets. But he's happy right now because it's two
favorite teams, Indiana and the Jets. Well, one's off to
(37:43):
a great start, ones off to a decent start, but
especially the Indiana Hoosiers are rolling right now. Rob an
attorney from Indianapolis and again Circus Survivor CoA champ from
last year. His seven plays for this week, I'll start
with his best bet Cardinals Niners under forty nine and
a half. Rob is also on just like Matt Grissom
(38:05):
Tennessee minus thirteen and a half at Arkansas Rutgers plus
seven at Nebraska. He's playing his Indiana Hoosiers, but he's
playing it under thanks to the Northwestern Purple Cats can
slow down this Indiana offense. Indiana Northwestern under the total
of forty one and a half, how about Mississippi South
(38:26):
Carolina over the total of fifty three and a half
and the Rebels off that very disappointing home loss to
Kentucky a week ago, especially disappointing for those of us
who bet ole Miss over its win total end to
make the college football Playoff. Not a lost cause yet,
but that was a damaging loss a week ago. Rob
brantson ole Miss South Carolina over fifty three and a half.
(38:49):
Sunday night, He's playing the Dog Cowboys plus two and
a half at the Steelers. That number is now three
pretty much across the board. Seahawks minus six Heavan versus
the Giants also on Rob Brands card this week again
follow him at Indiana Jet. John Acorsi he was in
the studio a week ago as well. John thirteen and
(39:10):
fifteen right now in the contest and his best bet
this week the Jets plus two and a half against
the Vikings. John Ocorsey is a pro better from Massachusettachusetts.
He has won football contest in recent years at the
Golden Nugget at William Hill and a top fifteen finished
(39:30):
in the Westgates Super Contest a year ago. John is
not on Twitter, which is probably a smart move, but
he's thirteen and fifteen overall here one and three on
the best bets off to the slow start. Best bet
for John o Coorsey Jets plus two and a half,
also on Rams plus three and a half against the Packers.
Now five college plays and in that Golden Nugget contest
(39:52):
he won three years ago. You can play college football
and the NFL, just like this one. It's a mix.
John Ofcorsey on Florida State plus fourteen and a half
home dog against Clemson Air Force plus nine and a
half against Navy, Utah State plus twenty seven and a
half at Boise, Virginia Tech laying seven and a half
at Stanford and John, of Coursei's seventh play here Southern
(40:15):
Miss plus sixteen and a half against Louisiana. Let's get
to Paul Bovie. How about Bovy two weeks ago? Owen
seven last week like a champion bounces back and goes
six and one, and a nice job by Paul to
get back on track. Twelve fifteen and one, thirteen and
(40:35):
a half points, two and two on his best bets.
Follow him at Paul bov BOVII Professional Better from Vegas.
Here are the seven plays this week for Paul del bovie.
Let's go best bet Dolphins minus one at Patriots and
I like that play as well. The more to think
about it this week, and that's Paul's best bet Dolphins
(40:57):
minus one. He's also playing Dolphins Patriots under the total
thirty six, Ravens minus two and a half at the
Bengals Colts Jaguars over forty five and a half, one
more in the NFL Ravens Bengals over forty nine. So
(41:17):
four of his plays are on two games. Now to
the college football side, Auburn Georgia under fifty two and
he's going opposite here of Rob Brandt and Matt Grissom.
Paul Bovey is taking the Arkansas Razorbacks thirteen and a
half point at home Dogs against Tennessee. And you can't
find fourteen out there, plenty of places in the market
(41:40):
if you want Arkansas and the points in that one.
All right, those are the seven for Paul Bovey. Let's
get the Matt Saint Marie. He's going to be on
the show next week. Matty Saint the winner of the
circum Million contest here last year, and he is twelve
fourteen and two thirteen and a half points one and
three on the best bets. Finance manager from Minneapolis. Matt
(42:00):
Saint Marie's best bet this week Texans minus one and
a half against the Bills. Texans have not covered the
number yet this season. Matty Saint hoping this is going
to be the first time for the Texans to do that.
He's also on Bears minus four first the Panthers. Browns
plus three at Commanders. Talked about that a little with
(42:24):
Derek Stevens earlier tonight. The Browns Cleveland. Brown's probably going
to be a contrarian side here. The Commanders have been
too hot the last two weeks. Browns plus three for
Matt Saint Marie. Also Cardinals forty nine, Ers over forty
nine and a half, Packers Rams over forty eight and
a half, Brown's Commanders over forty three and a half
(42:48):
and Raiders Broncos under thirty six. Not gonna argue with that.
That Raiders Broncos game looks like it's going to be ugly.
The two ugly games of the week in the NFL Dolphins, Patriots,
and Raiders Broncos. There you see the seven plays up
on the screen for Matt Saint Marie. All right, let's
wrap up this hour with Brett McMurphy, America's college football
(43:09):
insider for the Action Network. Follow him at Brett Underscore.
McMurphy and Brett last week had a best bet on
UCF minus fourteen against Colorado and that blew up and
blew up early, but discounts as one loss. Best bet
this week for Brett McMurphy Kansas plus two and a
(43:29):
half at Arizona McMurphy right now twelve and sixteen in
the contest two and two on the best bets, and
again his best bet Kansas plus two and a half
at Arizona State. McMurphy, as America's college football insider, would
be expected to do going with seven college football plays
this week. The latest game on the board Saturday night
(43:50):
is Texas Tech at Arizona. McMurphy's going to lay the
six and a half with the Wildcats. He's also on
Oklahoma State minus three against West Virginia, Washington minus one
and a half against Michigan. I'm rooting for Brett there.
I'm also on Washington. That's one of my favorite plays
in college football this week, Washington minus a short number
against Michigan. McMurphy also on Oregon State minus eleven against
(44:14):
Colorado State. A play you've heard frequently on tonight's show,
including in the first two hours. Connecticut minus seventeen against Temple,
and this is popular. I know some sharp handicappers who
really like this play this week, first time we mentioned
it on the contest tonight. Georgia Tech minus nine and
(44:35):
a half against Duke Blue. Devil's off a big game
against North Carolina a week ago. All right, thanks to
Brooklyn's Best Pizza and Pasta, the sponsor of the best
Bet segment on this show, the Circa Friday Football Invitational,
back with hour at number two. In a couple of minutes,
