Speaker 1 (00:03):
What's up? Its way up at Angela. Ye, my girl
Jordie joys here with me today and sway Lee is
in the building.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
What up? Same difference.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
You've been literally like everywhere lately, which is great because
you've been promoting. So congratulations. Same difference is out today,
by the way.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Same difference.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
So how you feeling?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I feel good. I feel good. Like you said, I've
been running around crazy. So do you enjoy life?
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Yeah, it's cool.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
It's cool. It's cool. You know what I'm saying. You
gotta gotta do the groundwork, you know what I'm saying.
But I ain't a morning person. I'll be hating that
morning in the morning.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah yeah, it's not even morning, which is crazy.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I consider this morning too.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Years ago you said you wake up at four thirty.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Year round for sure. That still goes anything before three
pm this morning.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
I was wondering. A few years later You're like, no,
I wake up earlier.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Oh no, oh no, not by choice. If I'm up,
it's not by choice.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
You think partying is different now than it was even
just a few years ago, Like clubs and everything, I
feel like it's it's a lot has changed.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, it's like it's like it's the same difference, but
it's like, you know, I'm I don't like no, it's
the same difference. It's like.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
And just just for everybody know, he was in the
car asleep right before he came up.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
But man, how you dad?
Speaker 1 (01:23):
You know, they were like, we're gonna let him sleep
until it's time to come up. But sometimes that extra
ten twenty minutes does a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
YEA brought me back to like I was leaning up
against the door, fell out the car like now, but
I think now you just gotta look cooler when you
stand on the couch, like the party scene. Change just
got to look cooler, even cooler than you used to
have to look while you're standing on the couch.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
How does one look cool standing on the couch? What's
the rules for that? Little Joe sip slow sip, a
little puff puff even smoking now you could really just smoke.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, yeah, doing that, You're good.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Jordan's a DJ. I always wanted like for you when
you're when you're DJ, because Jordan really be out in
the clubs DJing too. But do you can't get too
lit because there're times there have been times, there have
been times where I have and I did too much,
and but you know, the music was still flowing and
everything still sounded good, and nobody noticed the same difference different,
(02:20):
the same difference. I want to also just talk about
everything you've been doing lately, because we also saw you
pop out it Versus, which I knew that was gonna
happen because you and Mike Will made it. Yeah, you
guys would definitely. I feel like you always on like
helped him. A lot of people would say he won
the versus even though it was it was a good
history for both artists.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
It was good songs from both way. Mike Mike got
them slaps, like twenty thousand slaps.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
You know. People also with air drummers with Mike Will
made it Race Starmer with you with Slim Jimmy. They
really affiliate you guys all yeah, all together with each other.
How do you all have such a strong bond, Because
I know this music business can be really tricky to navigate.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I think it's just like a thing like bro really
gave us our shot in the game, like coming from
Mississippi to Atlanta and just giving us that big shot
and believing in us, turning us up. It's like it's
like we're forever grateful, you know what I'm saying. So, yeah,
that bond is gonna be hard to break, you know
what I'm saying. And we did so much together, Like
we got so much history together. You know that's my
(03:25):
big bro shout out, Mike will.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Because I even think when you guys first came out,
Race Shermury came out so strong. Usually when that happens,
people always be like, oh, yeah, this is not gonna last.
It's not gonna X Y and Z. But it definitely
continues to grow and rise. And to see both of
you still here working on solo projects. Yours is out today.
I know you've said Slim Jimmy's working on his as well.
You're working on his too, Yeah, and Race Sherman is
(03:49):
still a group.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Were definitely gonna come back when the time is come
back together, Shrimp five, whatever it is, whatever the new
audition is, for sure.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I have some classics that I bumped in my car
on the way to work every summer. Those were my
summer bops.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
How does it feel doing the project without him?
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Don't? I don't really feel like nothing, you know what
I'm saying. It's like and I know me and him
gonna link back up. So it's just like and he's
on it, and he's on it. Yeah, you know what
I'm saying. So I don't feel like like this whole
like life alterned situation. And plus I put out solo songs,
so it's like it's just I ain't never put out
a solo project. So I never had this much music
at once that they could get their hands on. You know.
(04:31):
It's always like singles or it was like you know
what yeah or features. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
True, So you don't feel like Wacation was a solo project.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It kind of was what it wasn't It was like
what six songs, and it was on it was on
a triple disc disc in the world. They just I
don't know, for some reason, it was just like rocket science,
like they could not understand how is it a triple disc?
Like I'm like, I got some solo songs over here,
gym solo songs, and we've got some group songs.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
It's kind of a outcast. They didn't have a speaker box.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah right. But for some reason, like I had to
make a diagram and everything for people like but for
some reason, it was just like it.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Was really break it down. Yeah, I mean to the chart, Yeah,
the physical chart. Since I just said outcast, I remember
some years ago you posted with Andre three thousand. Oh yeah,
what kind of conversation. Was it just a photo app
or did y'all really have like some.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
You had a little moment.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't lie.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I was I fun like my man messed. I messed
a brou a long strong way. Like I grew up
listening to Outcasts and they always compare me and my
brother the outcast, and I always looked like I felt
like I was like the Andre three thousand type of
nigga in the group. So yeah, I seen Brandon Lobby,
you know what I'm saying. Like I thought I was
tripping on like.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
See Bro with the flute.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I'm like with the flute, and it's just like I'm
randomly just walking to the live God right for the
flute album. My brother got them the Lovey walking down
sixty last, I'm like, like one hundred thousands, let me
walk up Boom and talk to Buddy Boom chopped it
up with all like Bro, like I know he don't
(06:07):
like to be seeing and shit. So I was like,
you think I get a picture and ship like I
don't even ask niggas for pictures and nothing like. It
was like a crazy I was like, you think I
get a picture? Boom took the picture. I was like,
and I wanted to be on my album, so he was.
He was supposed to be on an hour, We supposed
to link up or whatever, but.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
You weren't like really thinking. You were like, if it happens, great,
but I'm not betting because I.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
It's hard to just be in the same location as
another artist, especially like Entre ey thousand, like that one
time you seen him is like.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
You should have been like, let's go to studios now,
That's what.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
I'm like, that's what you gotta do. Yeah, for sure,
if you really want to secure it.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
I like that you said that you asked for a
picture and you because sometimes people don't like to act
like they're they're too cool to act like a fan,
right you know they're standing there like this like the look,
who else would you say? And I'm gonna ask you
the same things you already like, who's somebody that if
you saw you were fan out over?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Now? I was like, damn. Like when I first came here,
it was like I was really like, man, I'm listening
seeing I'm listening to his arts on YouTube. Now. They
my peers were like, let me see, Like.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
They don't even have to be an artist. It could be.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
I'm trying to think, goddamn ship Bruce Lee. I've seen
Bruce Lee gently. I'd probably be like a Jackie Chan
or something or like that.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Yeah, because it's not like you're gonna just run into them.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Sorry. Yeah, I grew up on these dudes and I've
never seen him before.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Like, so you're into the martial arts movies.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
You're like the martial arts movies like old karate movies,
kungkor ful movies like even though it was like actual
movies period.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Have you ever done any type of training?
Speaker 2 (07:44):
I did hood training, but I've been looking at.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Whiz Khalifa with his I don't know, if you see
his post where he's doing all this like crazy, like yeah,
and I'm like, how is he doing that?
Speaker 2 (07:57):
That's dope, that's dope, That's that's dope to get into actually,
but yeah, I ain't never been no official train. I
just be in my room doing my ship. I go
to the gym whatever.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
You feel like you could take somebody on and something happened.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Oh yeah, for sure, sturdy sturdy, Jordy.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Who would you fan out over if you ran into someone? Okay,
So when I met Maxwell, I was gagged and I
definitely cried, and then I made I cried. Yes, you
made him cry. Yes, it was a beautiful moment. And
when I met Janet, I also cried and she was
just standing there looking at me stupid, but it was
a moment and she didn't cry as well. She was
(08:32):
just like, has a fan ever met you and cried?
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, they'd be doing that sometimes.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Does that make you feel?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Like Michael Jackson, It's like it's like it just lets
you know, like the love is real. You know what
I'm saying, Like, damn, these people they rock with you.
You know what I'm saying, Like it's a great reaction
to getting It's it's tears of joy, you know what
I'm saying. So it's like, it's.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
How often do you take a moment to be like, dang,
coming from Mississippi, I can't believe this is where I'm at.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Man, Like, all the time I had those moments like
it don't even seem real. It seemed like a simulation
to be honest, like cause, like where I came from.
It's like, man, it's like a whole total flip. But
it feel good. You know what I'm saying. That's what
we believed and it is wh we worked for, lost
sleep for. You know what I'm saying. Just she's getting
back from universe and return everything we put in.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
So a moment where you're like, ooh this is I
really made it.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh yeah. I had one of the moments like early,
like goddamn in Atlanta Boom, Rihanna was doing something Rihanna
was doing, like this super Bowl party in Vegas, like
it's way back Boom, she wants to come perform. I
was like, all right, man, this shit hard ship.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah, way Boom.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I don't care what I got. I gotta find myself myself.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
What's time to fly mon it? You know what I'm saying,
No matter what time it is. So when we popped
up one with her and it was just like damn
we hear that's dope.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I love a story like that. It's organic. The artist
actually requested you. It wasn't something that was set up.
I mean even Mike will hitting you up for formation.
That had to be a surreal moment too.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
That was hard, Like that was hard, you know what
I'm saying. Just you're even getting the work with Beyonce
like held R was like she got goddess energy, you
know what I'm saying, Like walking in and it's just
like she loved a song. Like me and Mike working
on the song Shutty came in boom loved his jump.
It's like, Damn, I ain't even like this song. I'm like,
(10:34):
I'm looking at this like a side song, you know
what I'm saying, Like I'm FeTNA lit up another beat,
you know what I'm saying. But yeah, Shutty was vibe
with that beat. So you're like, crazy, you can have it, Okay,
take it God, whatever you need, what you need, like
doing whatever.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Now. Even on this album post Malone take My Heart
and I Saw You posted like a little preview. People
are really excited for that one. And you and post
Malone have me history together, right, But this is a
song that you did a while ago.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
We did this song, yeah, back in our benched days,
you know what I'm saying. So it's finally seen the
light of day. And there was another song on there,
Crazy that we did not too long ago, and hopefully
that won't come out next but.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
You gotta wait for some clearance or something.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
It's a process, yeah, clearing records and stuff. You know
what I'm saying. But you know, guy, Yeah, you know
what I'm saying. We're gonna make it happen when the
time is right. But yeah, take my heart the outro.
You know what I'm saying. We made Sunflower biggest song
in the world, well, one of the big songs.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I ain't gonna say double Diamond. I think they said
that was the first song to go double You know
how historical that is that you're in the history books
like that.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah that that like that was one of my opening moments.
And also like this big ass plaque. They sent this
big ass plaque. It's like twenty platinum plaques, like take
up my whole living room wall. But it's like, yeah,
like shout out.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Posty, you might got to get another for the plag I'm.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Telling you, man, for real, it's getting to that point
after this album for sure.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
No, so you're feeling good about it, it's also you
on your own. Is it going to be like a
Swaye tour? What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I'm definitely touring with this one for sure, like touching.
Definitely an American owner from the world wide with it.
But we'll really just see how it go, you know
what I'm saying, Like I really just want to drop
more period like back to back albums, you know what
I saying, go on a little.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Run, so you gotta do back to it after you
waited all this time to finally put out the solo album,
Now you want to go back to back.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Just feeling them, you know what I'm saying, just over
feel them.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
I have to imagine that because there's sixteen songs on
this and I have to imagine that you have a
whole lot of songs in the clip ready to go,
and exactly how did you even choose? And I love
how it even starts tomato tomato, same difference and the
way it comes in. It's like, yeah, I think the
way the way it comes in. I do like the
(12:57):
little like lovey type songs. I also like the one
with the sample of Juicy on it.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
That's hard.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah, that's my joint right there. I like a little
nostalgic feel and not to put you on blast navy.
He was like, oh, he's sampled biggie.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I was like, yeah, I did, and I did for real,
and that ship was almost hard to clear.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
That ship was the one the process of that way.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Man like the last like week, like we don't have
all the cleares on this phone, like damn, like for real,
so I had to get somebody like remake the ship.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
That's my joint on it. That's the Yeah, I like.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Appreciate that for real. That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I love that it's your favorite song.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
I'm sure it changes one of them, definitely.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
French Montana Suitcase, the one I said exactly what you said.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I've been playing that one and that jumping going crazy,
like even if I joined them, it was with that one,
like and just all these girls. I was playing for
a whole bunch of girls yesterday.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
I see the ladies like women always like.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Something different dance okay, but mural too, that's a mural
with your name.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Oh yeah. And I like that type of vibe too.
And I love Janago and I felt like you got
in her zone.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah yeah, she on that beautiful like like vocal stuff too.
So it's like and even coming off the TV, like
I didn't want to just go R and B like
the world want us to go R and B probably
or expect us to go R and B. So yeah,
just we just want on some like big pop stuff,
you know what I'm saying, like big pop record.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I So you've been interacting with people on social media too,
and somebody was like, oh, he's the same artist. It's
like he's trying to do the same thing, and you
were like, just sit back and enjoy the damn music.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, it's like the Internet gave you were like kind
of too much voice sometimes, like instead of listening to music,
why do you do the cover red?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
And it's like damn, Like bro, what this is what
you're thinking about?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Just man, listen to the music, and I promise you
just enjoy it more like if you stop thinking about
like shit that don't even matter. It's like like why
did you put it all in capital letters? But like, bro,
she listened to the goddamn song. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I enjoy yourself and just listen to the music.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
MA like break it down too much things too deep,
overthink it, you know what I'm saying. Just just use
your ears, you know what I'm saying. Don't overthink yourself.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Do you find yourself responding to things and like, damn,
what did I even bother? Because that's the problem with
social media. Somebody say something at the wrong time.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
I touched the wrong topic, you know what I'm saying,
Like it didn't age well for sure, you are, like
it's like and it's like even speaking on that, I
didn't speak on the other ship, so it looked like,
you know, supporting the other ship, right because they think
I'm magnet.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
They're like chili seeing that.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
I was, like, y'all, ain't never seen me running around
with a red cap on my head, like either, like
don't get it. Don't think I'm on that side either,
Like it's like we already know he a monster, you
know what I'm saying, Like we already know that's evil
motherfuckers Like Ship. I'm just making sure people know like
what they get into, like know everything about it, just
because you see a smile and pretty face, like nigga,
know what the ginger is being pushed, you know what
(15:57):
I'm saying, Like, and if that's what you agree with Ship,
rock with it. Just I'm just trying to open people eyes,
you know what I'm saying, Like even me, like I
want the same thing everybody want, like some type of
sense of relief, you know what I'm saying, Like, I
don't I think. I think good politicians are rare.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Like oh, I mean it's hard to be, yeah, I
think because people can have good intentions, but politics is politics, yeah, yeah,
and to get things accomplished, like sometimes you sacrifice this
to get this done, and then sometimes this person donates
money and then you're like, I gotta do even though
you're not supposed to, you know, do favorites. And then
(16:32):
a lot of times people are self serving, right.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Right, See, even me I did, like Brody has some
good for the taxes. You know, I hate paying taxes,
like I think. I think it's like a like legal robbery.
Even when I work at McDonald's, Nigga, I hate paying
taxes Like you know what I'm saying, nigga dipping in
hand in my check.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
It's like, yeah, who's it even going to?
Speaker 2 (16:49):
You know what I'm saying, Like then I see money
just being sent away overseas, so like at the time,
you know what I'm saying, I just I just seen
somebody didn't agree with. But that's definitely something like I
would just you know what I'm saying like I didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Speak on that topic, you know, Yeah, I think messaging
is important. And I'm gonna say this too. People always
talk about, oh, you know, rich people, and the reason
why a lot of rich people are Republican is because
of taxes. But rich people don't know how to also
use the system to not pay taxes anyway.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, me too. I know that for this too.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
But it's like legally right, yeah, legally, but but there
are things you can do, like being a property owner
like this, Yeah exactly.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
But even like when bro was like cutting the taxes,
that's not just going to fact rich people. That's going
to affect middle class everybody. Everybody's gonna say on taxies
like well, no, I.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Don't know about that, yeah, because people will end up
paying more taxes. And I also my problem with taxes
is what's going for.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yeah, what I'm saying, I don't even like it just
go to some stupid shit like you don't I will
see them.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Two's like what means the most to us? Kind of
like yeah, right, that's what I'm saying, Like or we
just don't know we do. Because I'm looking at Florida now,
they're talking about getting rid of property taxes. But then
people are like, well, what how do they fix the
roads or where's the only gonna come from. Then it's
gonna come from somewhere. You know, when people pay hoa fees,
people hate that, But then that's supposed to be to benefit.
(18:07):
Like when something goes wrong in the building or the association,
how do we get those things fixed? You just want
to make sure it's really happening.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yeah, Like we see the benefits from it, like the
people we don't see. No, we don't really see the
benefits for life. I think it's a simple thing as
a present. If you could send a billion dollars to
another country, you can fund your city, your country. You
know what I'm saying, Like really uplifted, you know, right
as poverty. We just send a billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yeah, I mean I was looking and I want to
talk too much about the last thing I was going
to say is I was looking at Donald Trump saying
we can't fund free daycare and childcare because we have
a war to pay for it. I think here, first
of all, a lot of people don't want to be
in this war at all right now. It was unnecessary.
But I think a lot of us would feel like, well,
(18:55):
if people could have childcare, which is so expensive in
the United States, and be able to go to work
and do things. We have that in New York now
they're just startying this program for free childcare and it's
a brand new thing, but that could help so many people.
There's a lot of single mothers out there. There's a
lot of people having to make a choice. Am I
going to stay home take care of my kids or
find some childcare or go to work? And sometimes childcare
(19:16):
costs more than you get paid, and then you have
to make a decision like am I going to go
do this job and get and then have to pay
all the money towards childcare. It's difficult decisions that people
have to make on a daily basis.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Right right, you know. So, so we need your politicians
to come in and make more laws like that. They
give people a sense of relief.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
But I also think that we got it as citizens
being more involved as far as knowing what politicians we're
voting for and standing behind them.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Yeah, that's my whole thing about even speaking of I'm like,
and damn, it's like picking your poison til you want
the blue pill to red pill. You know what I'm saying, but.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Text, well, I hope you're going to angle for neither one.
I was just like, damn bro in the future, because
I want to make other people understand the power of
us voting.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Because I also think it is important.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, that people try to convince us that voting is
not important, because it is important, and that's why they
try to convince us.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
You gotta agree with it too, Like you know what
I'm saying, You got to you gotta agree with it.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
But it is important for sure, because our responsibility is
also to make sure that we're standing behind these politicians
and making demands. That's how things get done. We can
literally have somebody's sponsor or build for something that we
think is important. We can go and sit down and
go like I find that I've hosted town halls and
people don't really show up like that. But you have
the opportunity to come and meet your local really make
(20:34):
a difference and make a difference. And so I think
even somebody in your position, because sometimes people think artists
are just like who cares? Like who cares?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I was protesting, you know, I'm in the street, like
really protesting, Like when what.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
The fuck was going during Corona, like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I'm in the streets walking with these people, you know,
so it's like, Man, I want the same thing they do,
you know what I'm saying, Like I ain't never announced
my style dare to do with any politician, you know
what I'm saying. Like and like you said, like man,
America used to really like stand ten toes on business,
like the Boston Tea Party. These niggas really like they
was like fighting a fucking tax on tea. You know
what I'm saying, Like they stand up for what they
(21:13):
believe in the they on foot with it, you know
what I'm saying. But exactly what you said, Man, I
want I won was best for the people. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
I don't. And sometimes it takes for tragedy to hit
us for us to be involved. Because we've seen a
lot of people who unfortunately may have something happened to
a family member or somebody close and then they become active.
I'm for that too, because sometimes until it feels like
it's happening to you and you can't do anything, that's
when you're like even seeing Meek mil get involved, right,
with so with prison reform. That's because of what he
(21:44):
knows he went through.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
He knows that just treatment, unfair treatment, right.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
And the talk lying on you and then you and
so just understanding like it's hard for people when they
get caught up in the system. But I can see,
like I feel like that experience has made you feel
like I want to know more in a way because.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Definitely, even me, I'm gonna do more research, you know
what I'm saying, But just what I was seeing, I
was just like, damn, I hope we're not being for Noogle,
like for nesting Ship, like you know what I'm saying.
But at the end of the day, I feel, yeah,
sure probably would have been better.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Yeah, no, I think. So I'm agree with that because
I say that's who I voted for, you know, you
know what I'm saying. And I always make sure you
know that I participate because then I feel like I
can't complain if I didn't participate, Like who am I
to be, like, I can't believe this is happening. But
I sat it out, you know, and.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
So definitely matters me too, me too, because you know
what I'm saying, I ain't really touch the topic on Twitter,
but I ain't. I wouldn't sitting well people thinking I'll
vote like with Trump.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
You know, I also don't think Twitter is the best
place to address certain topics because it gets like it
turns into a.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Whole if you know me, I don't, and I'm going
to head up.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Let me head on that.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
I listen.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
I see people say about you on to this where
you've been like that's not me.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Oh you're gonna check the cap shit too, they ship
the capture all that ship, Like yeah, I ain't just
gonna lay down and take it. You know what I'm
saying for sure, Like they can't crucify you for having
an opinion. You know what I'm saying, Like everybody got
their opinion. You can disagree. It's cool to disagree, you
know what I'm saying. And my eyes can be open
just like anybody else, you know what I'm saying, Like
(23:22):
that's information. I love information.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
That's what I think we're lacking, Like disagreeing, but disagreeing
like response. People get mad and like yeah, and I'm
like it ain't that you know. I want to stone
me right now. I'm like, man, look and then you
have an album coming out so it's kind of annoying
at this time.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
It is, it can be, but it's a small crowd.
Really they do that ship. But you know what I'm saying,
I don't want Some of them are my fans, so
I don't you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
So you're not mad?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah, yeah, that's that's to clear. Like I've seen that's
when they jump to an assumption. I'm like, damn, y'all
done tok it to us, So I get the way
they mad, but then they took it the next level
or you mad, like ain't never seen me, Like I
turned down money from MAGA, Like that's what they don't know,
Like was trying to get me the campaign and do
all that ship. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Come out sway before and after the tweet, you know,
saying they.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Assumed that I was MAGA.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
It was like he's with us, with us.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
It's like I like certain things from certain both sides,
and I dislike certain things from both sides. So it's
like mm hmm, I just couldn't.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Yeah, how hard is it to turn down certain bags too?
Because morally there are things like you just said you
turned down, and sometimes that money is amazing.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Good money is good money, but it's like that's what
it's saying going not all money is good money. So
it's like it would be so much to come with
the money, and it's just like it goes against my morals,
you know what I'm saying, Like I don't want to
stand for that certain stuff. So you know what I'm saying,
like you gotta say no to it. You know what
I'm saying. Shed a little tear inside, but.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
It's like them, yeah, because I always feel like there's
always other opportunities to everything.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, Walmart might call me next month. We had a
hondred million for you know. It's like I ain't tripping
about it. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
How good are you with I know some artists are
you know, have a lot of people handling it. How
involved are you with your business when it comes to
like your finances and publishing deals and all of that.
Are you on it or are you like I feel
like I need to pay because I feel like a
lot of artists sometimes stuff can slip by or you
be like, oh my god, I don't know how that happened.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
I see missing an opportunity and stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Or even missing money or missing Yeah, how are you
with that?
Speaker 2 (25:27):
I got a great scene, I got CPAs and everything,
you know what I'm saying. So even like when the
opportunities come across, I definitely like I'm hands on with it.
I want all the details. Boom.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
I need to see the contract, contract get.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Split, yeah, boom, break it down to me. Boom.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I want to see this and even having children thinking
about investing and making sure that they're good. Yeah, that
money got a last generations.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Let that shit collect us. But yeah, I'm making like
great moves for the future. Even my catalog. I ain't
never sold my catalog. Wow, my catalog and NBA contract
right now, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
So that's amazing. Are you considering that? Because I see
a lot of artists doing these deals.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
We sweating not doing that shit because it's a lot
of money that comes from that. Like you know what
I'm saying. But I think the later the better, Like
for real, for real, after this comes out, ten more albums,
you know what I'm saying, Just keep working, keep doing
my best, putting out the best music, and then sell
it with them.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
You know what I'm saying, Like five six years or
so now I know you've also dabbled with the acting.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Oh yeah, yeah, fucked around voice.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah, it's some animation. Is that something acting that you
see for yourself in the future too.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Definitely, I'm definitely gonna dip and dab. I was telling
I want to do like an action movie or something.
I don't even care if I die in that motherfucker.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Your character. You want to show an action show.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
I ran the fifty cents. Was talking about doing the BMS,
so you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
So I can see that you could do good love scene, right,
That'll be.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
My strong point. A nice guy, the nice guy gangster
roll like, you know what I'm saying. I'm a nice guy,
but got the little edge to him.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Hellotle edge. Look, we call it nerves with you think
in real life? Are you a romantic person.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
For the right girl? Yeah? For sure?
Speaker 1 (27:24):
All right, So give us an example of something romantic
this way Lee has.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Done ship Valentine's Day, Man, I took my shorty on
Saint Lucia. Oh okay, we had to like window on
the floor. You can see the fish underneath you. That's
you know what I'm saying. Just got a massage on
the beach, all that cool ship.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Okay, cute. What's the first place you ever went on vacation?
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Hellow, flowers in the room, you know what I'm saying.
Set up hold, set up flowers on the bed.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Okay, what's the That was the reaction of the flowers
and everything. That's what happened bad, Like all these flowers
we wasted. And then what's your favorite place to go?
(28:15):
My favorite place to go, because you've been everywhere?
Speaker 2 (28:19):
My favorite place to go? God damn, I want like surprising,
like fun ass city is like Australia or country Australia.
That ship lit the energy to fans. They be turned
up girls like may be mostly girls.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
I heard was amazing. They've always teld me there's beautiful
women in Australia.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
It's actually like fire girls out there. They're cool. They
turned up. The energy is amazing. They just they just
love the music so like they really enthusiastic about the music.
And then damn ship Africa Africa be lit like yeah we.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Need that trip, Jordi George, Yeah, just got invited to
the Nigeria.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
I think, yeah, you gotta go to right spots. Well,
the right is gonna find y'all actually like y'all gonna
be good right to come here, come to my kingdom.
Come there, let's go, guys. Gonna be too many, too
many activities for you. Like they're like they're gonna love you,
(29:21):
like probably Kate Town. You love that ship.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
I've been at Johannesburg, but cool to.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
I've been there too. Yeah, that's far.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
You liked it. I loved it. I love that you
could go to the club and they'd be like, that's
the prince of the king of oh God. And then
the cousin opened all night and then the prices like
our money streight. When I tell you, I was like,
stretch for sure, that's where I need to go. And
the food is so fresh. It feels like the food
just hits different too, But I won't really the way
(29:50):
they hyped up that one day show is that what
you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
I must have got the wrong Joe Lofe. I gotta
I gotta try some more. Joel Man.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
You know they'd be beefing over which place the best. Joel.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
I was like, you give me some rice and beans
and chicken.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
But you know what I think is great too, like
traveling and doing music, videos in different places too? What's
been your best experience on set? Like filming a video?
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Damn that I did? This could in South Africa? Shows
lit but damning to think. Probably black Beatles in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Ain't it crazy? Black Beatles? Even today? You did the
Chipotle nice check.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Oh yeah, I'm telling you, I love him. I love them.
Walmart brands like type brands. Yeah, I'm got smile McDonald's
all that ye bring in?
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Is it different when you also have to think about
like you're a brand. It's not just an artist, you're
actually a brand. And so there's all these opportunities that
are coming at you too. And that's a responsibility to
when you're like, Okay, I gotta make sure I'm moving
the right way clean.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
You gotta keep your face, cart clean, irritation clean. You
know what I'm saying. It's like you got ship to lose.
You know what I'm saying. For sure, do you have
a dream partnership?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Besides Walmart said.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
I keep saying, I ain't never did it always low prices,
I probably say the smart colloubt looking man up? Probably
(31:33):
uh ship Apple Apple will be hard like an Apple
Cloud artists.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Do like they've they've done yo, maybe a little bit.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yeah, that'll be dope.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah, and like beats I think did Apple?
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Oh yeah, yeah they did that a long time. They
did a billion dollar shit over there.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
But they asked you did not move the mic around
so much? Not gonna sound. I know your experienced.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
I got a bad habit doing that ship and.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
You got the coconut. What it's staying hydrated?
Speaker 2 (32:02):
What were you doing? Like?
Speaker 1 (32:03):
What do you do when you're in New York.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
New York. I'll be trying to stay warm and I
always come out here when it's cold like a motherfucker.
You know, you gotta wake up early. It's cold early.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
At four pm.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
They had me up at nine a m. What oh god,
I'm like still in yesterday for real, real?
Speaker 1 (32:26):
What do you think you would have been doing if
you weren't doing this me?
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I probably would have been doing like some with computers,
like computer engineering or something like working on software or
some shit like working at a factory, Toyota factory. Yeah,
it's in life crazy making bands though. Moving on up
for sure, twelve hour shifts.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
I want to ask you this too about like, because
I know it's not easy working with people that your
family with always is always going to be things. You
think that when you and Jimmy had a little rift
that it made you guys stronger when you came back together,
because sometimes things are simmering and then you gotta just
collide and get them out the way.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah, sometimes you gotta just chill wait till the next
day too. Like, that's my real brother. So we always
been having like sibling wars. You know what I'm saying.
We always beef the dumbest, the dumbest of the dumbest stuff,
like the pettiest of the pettiest stuff. But that's my brother.
I love you know what I'm saying. We always that's
my big brother, So I respect them. What I'm saying,
sometimes I try to be a bigger person. If we
beefing over, I'd be the bigger person, Like whatever, you got.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
That, And he admittedly was dealing with a lot of
other things outside of you know, he's talked about that, so.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Yeah, he had he had life shit going on, you
know what I'm saying. But your the sibling wars can
be crazy, but it's like it's not nothing. I feel
like Tom, it just heals everything, Like you know what
I'm saying, like literally like when he typed it on
Twitter like rations no more. I was with him the
next day, you know. So it's like Dann like sometimes
when I go back to like anything like why tell
(34:00):
you now the fuck like we're not them tell me,
you know what I'm saying, But that go back to
like not typing saying ship because that sweet went like
stupid viral. So like everybody, a lot of people think,
like we still broke up and ship, you know what.
I'm like, we literally did stuff like swear like that's
(34:23):
my bro Like we always together, like you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
And then the family got to chime in, like come on, guys,
like we definitely had a moment group text, but you
got siblings.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
I do well.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
My brother just passed in December, and so even like
thinking about stuff like that, I'm always like, you know,
and even when you beef, you gotta like always make
sure because you never want something to happen that you
can't come back from.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
That's real. That's real. Yeah, and you love them at
the end of the argument. So it's like you're trying
to pop it, but it's like why are we doing this? Ship?
Like you know what we're arguing about.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
It, and that family group chat hit different and then
especially if you're wrong, I.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Like what other people chiming. You know what I'm saying,
Like I know I'm right, Yeah, tell him, tell him, yeah,
this was having it boo booms man way.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yeah. Do y'all still do family like big family get
togethers on the holidays, Yeah we do. We do.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
We actually did a crazy Thanksgiving like family. I don't
even know I had pulled up like that the full house,
you know, yeah, let me shut your family tree like
but it was.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
It was Yeah, And I tell you had a yacht
party not that long ago too. Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
I live in Miami, so that he's like, that's every day.
It's like every day every other day. Like my manager
he bought a yacht, so I just be using hens
like that's no reason for you to buy one. And
his backyard is he got a ocean in his backyard,
sosual to put the yacht right now.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
I live kind of in the cut, you know what
I'm saying. But for real, I lived in Miami and
I used to love little boat weekends. See the Dolphins.
It's like so regular.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Where I was saying, you have bikini shit.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah, how do you stay out of trouble?
Speaker 2 (36:08):
I just don't do like bad ship. I mean like
I just do like what's the word. I ain't going
around like just doing sh it's gonna get me in trouble,
like necessarily know what I like, I'm doing legal ship.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
But I mean even like with women you've had like
a legal ship, it's not nothing crazy.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
No, it never because I'm never gonna do nothing crazy.
Like I know how to conduct myself, you know what
I'm saying. Like it's like what you're gonna do to
a woman like I'm sure a good time, you know
what I'm saying, Like nothing saying about me? God, you
still want to be on good terms lifting or spinning
around what you need feeding? You know what I'm saying.
(36:52):
I just just be a good person.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Has a woman ever asked you for something like on
the first aid to go shopping or anything like that?
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Man, that's like that's the ship. I'll tell if I
I never just take your shop on the first day,
Like you know what I'm saying, list, I'm just madly
in love. I gotta be like crazy in love.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
You can't be in love on the first date.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
That's what I'm saying. Okay, it's something that's not really
going to happen to it. I'm trying to get to
know even but if I like it, even be on
a first date. That's saying a lot too though, you
know what I'm saying, Like for sure.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Yeah, he's like, I'm not just taking you outside.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Oh god, yeah for real them cameras.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
But listen, I do want to say congratulations. As you
can see, I did listen to the project and enjoy it,
enjoyed it like very much so. And I haven't had
a chance to listen over and over because it's out today.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yeah, you got people in the car, and I think
this is a.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Good week for you to drop to. It really is
wide over crowded.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Wide over.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Yeah, co people dropping but yeah, but you feel good.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Yeah, I ain't triving. I feel like I'm get my
message across mm.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Hmmm, because you know, sometimes it'd be a surprise album.
You're like, damn Kanye putting it.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh man, yo, but I move my ship.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Bah, it's good to next week.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
More ship.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
That timing is so important too. It is you know,
you want to make sure but you said clear back
to back to back albums. So are you already plotting
like around the time you plan?
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Okay, I'm really just so this project is like an
experiment too, Like, so I'm gonna see what they really
like funk with the most Like it's all different genres.
So if they gravitate more to the like the Afro
I'm gonna do it Afro center track, I'm an album
on the next one. Or if they gravitate more towards
the rap ship, I'm doing rap album next. You know
(38:43):
what I'm saying. Turned album.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Okay, So it's like a focused group album.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Yeah, exactly, exactly exactly. It's a social experiment.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
You said you have Nigerian roots too, Yeah, I'm Nigerian Creole. Okay, okay,
so it all makes sense.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
We love it.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
But congratulations, and I appreciate you for coming through here.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
You know you have me album not come through here.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Congrats on your new show too.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
He's laughing at me. Next time, you got to come
to lip server, so we could really have you under pressure.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
For real lips. I'll be talking crazy.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Yeah I think Chris Green did you block that? But
next time, I feel like we're ready, Yeah, I'm there
for sure ready for it, and we can do that
ship next month. Okay, you heard that next month on
the yacht.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Yes, okay, I mean with you know, to get that
ship out.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
I got the budget. He's not paying taxes.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
I found a loophole, all right.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
The same difference is out today. Make sure y'all stream
that by that merged all of those things. We're looking
forward to further announcements to but congratulations.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
I appreciate that. Thank you for having me, for sure,
