Speaker 1 (00:00):
You were not what I call her?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ye, what's up?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
guess what, I'm flying solo today. But my producer Darren
is here with me.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Oh, here working hard.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Now here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I am actually gonna run out of here during the
songs playing in commercials and go do Sherry Shepherd and
come right back.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
It's a good reason.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, it is a good reason. And shout out to
my girl, Jennifer Williams. We actually executive produced this documentary,
this documentaries together that will be airing on VH one
starting November six.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It's two parts and it is called My True Scam Story.
And Jennifer Williams, if you recall from Basketball Wives, got
scammed out of her range Rover by her ex. And
so during her actually telling the world that this happened,
we uncovered that he had done this too many people.
He had scammed a lot of people in many different ways.

(01:00):
And so we actually had the chance to sit down
and talk to them and give them the opportunity to
tell their story. All right, So what'll beyond Jarry Shepherd
talking about that? So make sure y'all maybe turn the
volume down here, watch that and then come right back
fair enough.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
That's dope. Do you know when the documentary comes.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Out November six on VH one, all right, and then
Mariah the Scientist is going to be joining us today. Now,
Mariah the Scientist her song from you know, years ago
Spread Then that is still to this day my song.
But she has a new project that is coming out
tomorrow to be Eaten Alive. And y'all also know she's

(01:38):
been dating young thug and she does not shy away
from talking about their experience together. You know how often
she talks to him. It feels like and listen, they've
done songs to each other just now. Yeah, from a man,
he did, and then she did from a woman and
they dropped it, you know, at the same time. And
so it's cute. But we'll dig into that. But in

(01:58):
the meantime, let's pres some pow positivity. Let's shine a
light on him.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
Eight hundred and.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Two ninety two fifty one fifty years a number, call
us up. Let's start it off with spreading some love.
Is way yup with Angela yee, shine a light on him.
And when we come back for shin, I'm a shine.

Speaker 7 (02:12):
Turn your lights on, y'all lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Shine the light on them, Shine a light on them.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
It's time to shine a light on them.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
What's up.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and
happy Thursday. And it is time to shine a light
on somebody doing something positive. Now today I want to
shine a light on Sean Tresban. He has made history.
He is the first African American CEO of Taco Bell,
so he's overseeing almost eight thousand worldwide locations. He did

(02:45):
take this role up to two years as the global
Chief brand Officer and by the way, people let him
some Taco Bell. I remember when I used to work
for eminem That was his favorite place at that time
to eat, all right. He used to work at Nike
for fifteen years. He was also VP and CMO with
the Jordan brand. He worked at Pepsi and now he

(03:06):
has this new role as the CEO of Taco Bell.
He also helped out in marketing with the Mexican pizza
relaunch and in a press release, he said, the love
our fans and team members had for Taco Bell is
extraordinary and means we're in a unique position to push
the limits on culture and become a brand that inspires
and enables.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
The world to live Moss.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
So congratulations to him, and we definitely want to make
sure that we shine a light again on Sean Treasvance. Yes, Dan,
why are you raising your hands?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I do have a quick question before we get to
the callers. What was im an UN's order from Taco Bell?

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I don't remember, but I just remember he did really
enjoy that.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
That was actually the first time ought to know.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
You know what, when I was in high school, I
did to somebody who worked at Taco Bell. My dad
was so excited because he would give me like bags
of taco bell to bring home.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Okay, it doesn't take much, guys.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Okay, well shine a light on him. Do you guys
want to spread some love and positivity to eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty is the number? Hey, Jasmine,
what's up? Who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 8 (04:10):
I want to shine a light on my husband Andrew.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Okay, tell us why.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
Because he's been doing the second industry for like ten
years and with it everything's falling off and stuff like that.
We were struggling for a long time, but he was
able to come back home and be home more with
the kids and actually found something that's not prement ship
And who's happy with that?

Speaker 9 (04:32):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Okay, got and listen.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Ain't nothing better than when y'all been struggling together and
you make it through to the other side. Yeah, for sure,
Jasmine and Andrew. How long you've been married? For you?
And Andrew, how long you'll been married for?

Speaker 8 (04:45):
Like thirteen years?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Okay, thirteen is my lucky number. So I feel like
this is gonna be a good year. Thank you, all right,
thank you, Jasmine? All right, all right, Well that would
shine a light eight hundred two nineteen fifty one fifty
in case you couldn't get through. And when we come back,
we have yet and let's shine a light on some
other first things happening. We'll talk about Pharrell and who

(05:08):
he has as his next Louis Vauton campaign. First he
had Rihanna will tell you who's next.

Speaker 10 (05:13):
Up.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Just like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela jee Man.

Speaker 7 (05:19):
She's spilling it all.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
This is yeeky.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Well, what's up? His way up? With Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee and I'm kind of flying solo today. My
producer Dan is here with you.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
I'm here. All right.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Well, let's talk about Pharrell.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
His next Louis Vauton campaign star is another huge personality.
First it was Rihanna. Well, the new person is Lebron.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Lebron's debut Louis Vauton campaign first appeared on billboards in
New York.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
This was just a couple of days ago.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
And you can see he's holding one of Pharrell's signature
speedy bags over his shoulder, just like Rihanna did earlier
in the year.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
That's a nice pick Lebron.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah, that's major. And also, if you remember Drake on
Meltdown on the Travis Scott album, he said that no
one's wearing LV anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Both, Well, yeah, I guess you were wrong.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, he's definitely taking some shots, yeah at Pharrell in
that because of Pharrell's alignment with Push two.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
All right, Nick Cannon.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Is going to be introducing new talent that they discovered
during his Future Superstars toward twenty twenty three. And by
the way, I was I remember when he did that
tour stop I was in Detroit at the same time
that he was when he was traveling around to different
venues looking for future superstars. It's a new docuseries that
will premiere next month on VH one. Also, don't forget

(06:36):
the docuseries I did with Jennifer Williamson. Basketball Wive starts
November six on VH one. The docuseries takes viewers on
a coast to coast journey, showcasing the talents of different
emerging artists like Big Boss, bet Hey Girl, hit Man, Halla,
Klon Dyke, Blind, Pop Money, Simba, a whole bunch of
different artists. And that is going to premiere with back
to back episodes November twenty first, starting at nine pm.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Here is a teaser.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
He was five years old when he started wrapping around
the house.

Speaker 11 (07:03):
I don't think nobody ever be me in a battle here.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
We would like have these rap battles.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
You will make more money.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I have to changed my life while my mama was
fighting for her.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Fuse the situation and I got shy.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
We lost everything.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
We were broken, all right.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I like that. You know, that's kind of what Way
Up is about too, Like the next generation also, and
you know, just to put that out there. We also
have a riot of the scientists joining us later today
talking about her album to be Eaten Alive. All right.
Speaking of documentary, Shine has a documentary on the way
and it's produced find none other than d J Khaled.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
It's called The Honorable Shine.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
It'll show his journey from a bad boy artist to
leader of the Opposition and the Belize House of Representatives
and leader of the Belize United Democratic Party and everything
that happened in between.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Now Shine to Billboard.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Immigrating from Belize to Brooklyn as a child left to
survive and thrive in the concrete jungle of New York
had a massive influence on my life, giving me the
space and community to explore my creativity and amplify the
voice of my pain and purpose. There's still no release date,
but get ready for the Honorable Shine, all right. And
Travis Scott and my producer Dan can Way in here

(08:15):
because he is a huge Traviscott fan. Remember they were
saying his tickets weren't selling and the resellers were losing
money on it, and he even canceled.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Or postponed a show. Well.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Traviscott's Circus Maximus tour has been continuing its journey and
apparently merch stats are being shared now and it is amazing.
He has a million dollar nights in Dallas and Denver
on this tour.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
He's got the best March. Yes, I got a lot
of it, honestly, so much that I might need to
stop getting Travis March. I have so much March from
every single album he's put out.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
All right, Well, they said he actually also beat a
record previously held by BTS at London's two Venue. And
so that's how much people love the clothing design. So
never to estimate the value of merch when it comes
to an artist.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
I'm going to a show in New York and I'm
scared to see what that line at the merch time
looks like.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Man, you don't get no like you know you're trying.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
To hook me up. No, all right, I'm a regular person, Angela.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
All right, well that is you're yeasy.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
If there's any Travis Scott plugs for our producer Dan
out here, please let us know between you with the
Travis Scott and Eli who works up here with Obo Merchant.
Yeah right, it's a competition, guys, all right, it's way
up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
When we come back, we have about last night.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
That's where I'll discuss what went down last night, and
you guys can also weigh in, bing sure you hit
us up on social media at Way Up with ye
It's way up with ye ye last night.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
So about last night, last night, last nights, I went down.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
What's up this way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and I'm solo today, but my producer Dan is here.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
We're working really hard. It's like the two of us,
Yes we are, you know, but it's nice and quiet.
I'm mad at it and I'm gonna be on Sherry
Shepherd to hey guys, so make sure y'all check me out.
I actually I'm leaving work for a few minutes to
run and go fill my segment Live with Jennifer Williams
talking about November sixth, the my true scam story that's
coming out, and then coming right back to work with

(10:13):
you guys. So hopefully chaff it's not too bad. But
last night, you know, I was at University of Michigan.
I was in ann Arbor in Michigan, and I wanted
to go and you know, maybe grab something to eat.
But it was kind of late because I flew in
late to go do what I had to do. And
I went into a restaurant because I asked him at

(10:34):
the front desk. The restaurant in the hotel was closed,
and I was like, is there anything open around here?

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So y'all are going to think this is so wack
of me. So anyway, I go.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
To this restaurant and I go inside and I sit down.
I wait a few minutes because no one's coming over
to me, but I see people eating. They're like bringing
out food, and it was maybe a few minutes later,
and then it was eleven oh one. And the way
it comes over and says, sorry, the kitchen clothes at eleven,
I'd be mad. I was, so I was waiting maybe

(11:04):
like seven.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Or eight minutes enough time to put something.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
But I also feel like, if the kitchen clothes at
eleven eleven o'clock, it's eleven oh one, maybe you could be, like,
you know, if you could do something quick, like something
I had it eat and you know, I've been traveling.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
And so I went and left a bad review.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
That's funny, left the review.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
I liked to leave positive reviews.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Normally you know when when great things happen, and I
try to make sure because I know that means a
lot to a business. But it was really whack, Like,
come on, I saw you bringing out food to other people,
and you know I had been sitting there. You waited,
you watched me come in, go sit down, didn't say anything,
and then waited till eleven o one to come over.

(11:47):
I was so mad. So after that I did go
ahead and do that. Then I felt kind of bad,
like should I take it down?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
All right? And Dan, you were in Amsterdam. We didn't
even get a chance to talk.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
That I was in Amsterdam. It was amazing. It was
actually wild. It was my first time in Europe, and
the coffee shops there is awesome. They don't sell coffee.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I've been to Amsterdam before, and everybody was riding bikes.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
When I went over. Yeah, that's crazy, killed crossing that
bike lane.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Let me tell you we were when I this was
so long ago, when I worked for Wu Tang and
we were on our way to the venue I think
it was called Milkwag Milky Way, and we were on
our way to the venue and the driver hit somebody.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
On a bike.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, I believe it.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
And the guy on the bike like fell down and
the driver got out spoke to him, and then the
guy was like, I'll wait here, go ahead, take them
where they have to go first. They were so nice
in the light. Yeah, this is not New York New York.
We didn't hit it bit laid out. But yes, I
mean they definitely led the way as far as the
bikes because now we have that everywhere bike lane.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
True, that's true, and they get like priority on the road.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
But those coffee STAPs.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
They also told me when I was there that some
artists went to Amsterdam and got so high they couldn't perform.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
I can co sign that you can perform. No, But
like so when I was leaving, I was with my
fiance and when I was when we yeah, it's new
So when we left the coffee shop, it was late.
It was probably like one o'clock in the morning because
I all close around two and we had just smoked.
And you know, me being in a foreign country, especially

(13:23):
a country I've never been to, I don't this is
my first time there. I was like trying to be
on my p's and q's and be smart and like
looking over my shoulder and make sure that we're good
and all that. But after I left the coffee shop,
I literally looked at her and I was like, if
something happened, I couldn't do anything right. I was like
so helpless. I felt so helpless.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
She probably was like, let me rethink this, all right. Well,
you guys, that was about last night. Am I a
Karen Bennette?

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Does that make you a Karen? I don't think so.
I would be more mad than you, honestly, Okay, because
it was warranted. You were ignored.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Okay, good, and I don't feel so bad.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
But now maybe I do because you are going you're
supporting that. All right, Well, that is about last night.
I want to see what you guys think for sure.
Hit us up on a way up with ye and
when we come back, let's talk about something that happened
in Chicago at Flea Club.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
This is a store that my friend Boo owns.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Him and Darius and their story got broken into.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
But it was a different type of break in.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
It appears that there's a new thing that's been happening
in Chicago. You know, I always am in support of
small businesses, and this is a small black owned business.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
In Chicago.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
So I want him to tell everybody what happened and
also talk about his go fund me so that we
can continue to support.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Ye were about to do this?

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Yeah, yea more way up with?

Speaker 9 (14:42):
Now?

Speaker 3 (14:45):
What's apic? Way up with Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee
and I was watching what was happening at this store,
Flea Club in Chicago. It's the store that I go
to all the time when I'm in Chicago. My friends
own it, Boo and Dare. So we have Boo on
the line. Somebody broke into his store, but not just
broke into his store, not just broke into Flea Club,

(15:06):
but actually drove a car through the front of the
store and then stole merchandise. All right, and now they
have a go fundme that is set up. Hey, what's up, Boo?
How are you?

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 3 (15:18):
I'm good? Thank you? Well, listen, I wanted to talk
today about your store, Flea Club in Chicago. Now I
saw you guys were on the news again, and it's
an unfortunate situation. I think, how many times has your
store been broken into?

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Three times?

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Three times? Flea Club? What part of Chicago. Are you
guys in West Loop. This is the third time someone's
broken too your store. But this is a different type
of break in. So I just want you to tell,
you know, everything that happened, because you said there's been
other stores in the area that have gotten broken into.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
This type of break in is something new. You know.

Speaker 12 (15:52):
It reminded me of when the old movie shut it
off like that, like they was running in the bank
or something.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
They run to, you know, bring a car there. You know,
they could have blew up the whole building.

Speaker 12 (16:03):
And it's also you know tennis that live above our
store and stuff like that. So just the measures that
they went to its definitely like a.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Surprise for me.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
So they drove the car through the front of the store.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Oh yeah, it was a stolen car.

Speaker 12 (16:17):
Stolen car, and it just looked like a movie, like
the way they came in on a certain angle, because
we got like a few trees in front of the store,
and they like made it like perfect, and you know,
it's just ramshackted and they got a lot of good
things because we have a lot of rare items.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
So they have no idea who it is right or
do they know.

Speaker 12 (16:39):
Uh kind of it's kind of like the same crew
that's coming together and doing stuff. But the hard part
is that they're doing things in different districts, so every
police can go across this district or however you say it.
So they're trying to like come together and put a
stop to on the best they can.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
And how much money and product would you say was taken.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Over one hundred thousand easily?

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that, because
I know that you guys work, you have to pay
for the stuff right to get it in the store.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Yeah, we started everything.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Got the pocket and just so people know, you know,
I know for two Doug was just in the store.
I see Babyface, ray fab Like a lot of people
come through there. I've been there.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I appreciate it, all of them.

Speaker 12 (17:21):
Yeah, for sure, you've been there, and I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah. No, we actually have even like bought stuff for
people to be able to come to the store and
shop and giving people like here crazy.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
So listen, it's a place that I support Flea Club
in Chicago, and it is a small business and so
you know, small businesses are something that's near and dear
to my heart and So for you guys, what's next,
because you do have a go fund me and I
just want to paint people there because sometimes people don't
want to start to go fund me. People are like
why they need to go fund me? They think you
have all this money they canke insurances covering everything, but

(17:54):
that's not always the case. So I just want to,
you know, direct people to Flea Club Chicago where go
frond me is posted.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
So what happens next booth?

Speaker 12 (18:03):
So next is just really trying to like structure. Do
we just strictly go online? Do we get a warehouse?
And right now at this point, I'm not trying to
make a decision of emotion. And last thing, see you
know that insurance like after you just happened a lot, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
They said third breaking at this location, like.

Speaker 12 (18:20):
You said, so imagine, well what an assurance company is
trying to put you through through at this point like that.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
So a lot of people I want you to.

Speaker 12 (18:28):
Know, especially our culture, don't think, oh, assurance covers everything
just because that happens. It's a tough thing and you
have to have be very tedious for your contents.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Right, you got to make sure everything is all about you.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Got to yeah, and my staff man.

Speaker 12 (18:44):
You know, we have to pay them, and you know
it affects them as well too, so but you know
we're gonna stay prayed up and it'll be all right.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Yeah. We always talk about supporting black owned businesses, and
like you said, this could have caused the whole building
to collapse. This could have made the people who lived
above it. There could have been people in the store.
Anything could have been even worse than what it was.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
We talked.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
We talk about supporting black owned businesses. So let's just
like you said, stay prayed up. All right. Well, thank
you so much Boo for checking it, and again, go
to Flea Club Chicago on social media and contribute to
the go fund me if you can find it in
your heart, even if it's just a few dollars. If
a lot of people contribute, this could help you guys
tremendously having lost all that inventory and now not even
being able to have the store open.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
No, yeah, that's so.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
That's a tough thing right there.

Speaker 12 (19:28):
But we're gonna get through it, and I definitely appreciate it. Congratulations,
way up with yes, thank you not love Chicago, you
know that.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
All right, We're waiting on you. You know we love you.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
You can always tell you. As soon as you said, k,
I knew where he was from. All right, well thank
you Boo, no, thank you? All right, you guys, Well
that was Boo actually from Boo and Gatti. If you
guys remember that group too from Chicago who was signed
to our Kelly. But when we come back, we have Yet.
Let's talk about Tasha K versus Cardi B. It looks
like Cardi B feels a little bit bad in Tasha K.

(20:00):
He has actually reached out to her after all this drama.
We'll talk about it when we come back for Yet,
it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Ye get off this spot.

Speaker 9 (20:07):
Let's get it.

Speaker 7 (20:07):
Oh, Angela's feeling that yeete, come and.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Get the tea. What's appics? Way up with Angela yee.
I'm Angela yee. And let's get into some Yet. My
producer Dan is here with me today. All right, so
let's start it off with Tasha K versus Cardi B. Now,
Tasha Ka went on her Instagram live and said that
she actually reached out to Cardi B with some words
of encouragement. This is definitely a change for her because

(20:33):
she has been going at Cardi B non stop, and
so I'm not sure if she's trying to you know,
there's a judgment against her. I'm not sure if she's
trying to get out of paying those millions of dollars.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
But here's what you had to say on life.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
So I said, I started this platform to keep people
out of depression, and I misused it a lot, and
I had to go through what I went through by
being stripped down and humbled and corrected before the world.
She wrote, I wish I was dead. I just want
to put a bullet in my head. I remember what
it was like to have that feeling come over me.
I said, hey, Cardy, if you put a bullet in

(21:06):
your head, who is gonna teach me to be a
better person. I said, please stop posting stuff like this.
I'm gonna pay you. I just can't afford the four million.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Well, then Carti B went live and had some interesting
things to say about having a very big heart and
talking to her lawyers to try to help someone out.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 11 (21:25):
My heart is very big, and I'm not gonna make
decisions right away. I don't want to talk to my
friends because my friends are looking at me like, I'm
not gonna talk to my husband because my husband is
calling me up. But I'm gonna talk to my mom.
I want to talk to my lawyers because I could
tell when somebody is going through something. Surprisingly it doesn't

(21:46):
make me happy. Don't think that I'm like this type
of person that is like, oh, she's so nice, like
Corty said, a nice person, because I can get real nasty.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
All right.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I don't know, Dan, if that was you, she's shown
she's got grace. Yeah, that's a lot of grace.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
There's a lot of grace. Could you do that?

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Now?

Speaker 3 (22:02):
You know where I am very nice if somebody was
apologetic to me and after they had done all of that,
I am the type of person when things are going
well for me, I really don't never like to tear
nobody else down.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
But even if they tore you down, if.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
They did, but if I'm saying, if they're apologetic after
that and you know, try to come forward, and who
knows the type of conversations can happen behind the scenes.
You know, you could change somebody's life and change the
whole way to theay behave. Because usually when people do
things like that, they're miserable. They have some other things
going on with them. It's really more about them than you.
And so, you know, grace is a hard thing to

(22:37):
be able to give. So but I've done it. I've
definitely given people grace.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
It's the millions of dollars at that part that makes
it not seem too authentic.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah, she all that money and she's been trying to
get that money vacated.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
That just been vacated. But you know that money is
not much to her.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
I mean it's a lot still, But for Cardi, she
make that in two shows, you know, so it's not
even about that. I think for Cardi, you know, all right,
And sometimes it's just the headache of having to deal
with all that too when you can just be the
bigger person because no matter what, Cardi comes out on top,
just put it behind you, all right now, Speaking of

(23:16):
those types of situations, Jonathan Major's ex girlfriend has been
charged with assault, but the case will be dropped by prosecutors,
all right. She was arrested last night after she and
Jonathan Majors had gotten into a domestic altercation. They do
expect prosecutors will dismiss the charges against her, but they
did determine that Jonathan Majors was not the aggressor. However,

(23:40):
it's not all in the claire for Jonathan Majors. The
judge did deny a defense motion to dismiss the case
and set a start date of November twenty nine for
the trial, so he does still have to face trial
on domestic abuse charges. Jonathan Majors is still facing misdemeanor
charges from the incident, and he faces up to a
year in jail if convicted, even though Johnathan Major just

(24:00):
called nine one on one at the time and YPD
officers did say that there were a number of marks
e laceration and a finger fracture on his ex girlfriend
Grace Jabari, and they did arrest him. He was, however,
released within hours after hearing in front of the judge. Now,
would you give grace in that situation?

Speaker 4 (24:17):
That's tough. I mean, I feel like there's so many
details that I left out that we don't really know
what's going on.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Here, and it's still a trial going on. It did
kind of like derail his career too.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Yeah, literally came out and then all that happened.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Yeah, here's the height, all right, Well that is your
yet and when we come back, we have under the radar.
Those are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar. It's way up with
Angela Ye, under the radar.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Next, take the news news. This in the news that
relates to you. These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee flying
solo today. But my producer Dan I'm here, is hanging
out with me. It's just the two of us. But
I don't think that we can do this every day.
All right, all right, well, let's get into some under
the radar stories now. Georgia lawmakers have announced a lawsuit
and that is over funding disparities at Georgia's HBCUs. One

(25:07):
of the three HBCUs named in the lawsuit was underfunded
by six hundred million dollars. According to documents, Fort Valley
State University would have received an additional six hundred and
three million dollars over the last thirty years if funded
at the same level as the University of Georgia. And
so the group is waiting on a response to the lawsuit,
but they do have questions for state officials. They want

(25:30):
to know, have you ever held back resources from those
who need it most? And they've also reached out to
the Bord of Regents for a comment, but they said
they could not get one at this time because they
have not received the document as of yet.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Okay, now let's talk about a nightmare.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
This man was trapped over nine hours in Midtown Manhattan.
He was actually inside of a vault inside of a
New York City building, and I guess people did not
know he was in there. Employees closed the vault that
he was there to access his safety deposit box and
he got trapped.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
So he was in there for.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Nine hours guys overnight, and the building also has a
number of jewelry businesses inside. They believe the secured room
with the timed lock mechanism is a safety precaution inside
the building, so somebody was to break in it was
just locked. So they did spend more than nine hours
trying to get through thirty inches of concrete.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
And metal plating.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Authorities say they ultimately decided to stop that process for
the safety of the customer inside the vault. He is
physically fine and there were no safety or oxygen concerns.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
So do you think this person had to use the
bathroom while they were locked in there.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Listen, you gotta do what you gotta do, you know.
But the vault does not reopen until a certain amount
of time passes. So that's crazy that nobody that worked
there is able to access that and get him.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Out, or like someone was looking at the security cameras.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
On it, right, that is really sad.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
Have you ever been trapped in an elevator? Have? I?

Speaker 3 (26:53):
I think, but not for long. I definitely have been
trapped in the elevator lucky, yeah, but oh you have
again four times? I remind me not to get an
elevator aw all right. And a bodyguard has been sentenced
to prison in Dubai. The family of Cornell Whitfield was
protecting singer Trey Songs from a man who was very aggressive.

(27:14):
That this happened back in March, and apparently the guy,
according to witnesses, was very drunk. He was acting in
a threatening and aggressive way, and he got between Trey
Songs and this person and was just doing his job.
His cousin, Serena George says that he never expected the
man would make a complaint, considering that he was a

(27:35):
person that was being aggressive and drunk. And now when
Cornell wentfil went back to Dubai, he ended up getting
jailed four a year for this. And so the man
wanted sixty thousand dollars to drop the allegation. Can you imagine,
So it's like extortion, really really h and so he
was arrested in August and he was sentenced to a

(27:56):
year in jail. So now you know his lawyer, Rodester
is saying, if a bodyguard can be jailed for protecting
his client, should celebrities really be supporting Dubai. Foreigners are
seen as prey by locals who know they will pay
large sums of money to have frivolous or false cases dropped.
Locals have turned Debia's police force into an extortion tool,

(28:16):
making it extremely risky for tourists. And something like that
will make me be like, I don't feel comfortable going there.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
The laws in Dubai are definitely very different than here.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, we'll lock you up.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Quick for a year for that, all right.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Well, anyway, we're praying that he gets home safely and
that bringing attention to this case will actually help him
get home. All right, Well, that is your under the radar.
We do have the way it mixed coming at the
top of the hour. So let's party getting ready for
a Friday because it is Thursday right now. Also, Maria
the scientist is going to be joining us. She has
a new project that is dropping tomorrow and this is

(28:48):
our first sit down, so I'm excited. It's way up
at Angela ye Mariah, the scientists coming up later.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
This is the rooms from industry shade to all the
gossip out send angels spilling.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
That what's up his way up at Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee and I'm sollo today. But Dan is here,
my producer, ma'am. Let's get into some yete man. This
Dwight Howard ty is definitely hot, okay now right now,
Dwight Howard is being accused of sexual assault and battery
and that's from a July twenty twenty one incident at

(29:20):
his residence in Georgia with a man named Stephen Harper.
He is denying these charges, and an attorney for Dwight
Howard said that Dwight Howard is looking forward to presenting
the truth in court. It was a private, consensual encounter
that was made public for profit and mister Howard looks
forward to bringing the truth to light and a court
of law, and the allegations are contested. Wow, Stephen Harper,

(29:43):
the man at the center of this, who is actually
claiming that he was sexually assaulted, is now speaking out.
He said, first and last time I'll ever address this.
I would never expose a man or intentionally ruin someone's career,
which is why I haven't publicly spoke about this until now.
With all due respect, Kitty is an older, unattractive person
in their forties ours into me being at Dwight Howard's home.

(30:06):
He ambushed me with this person. Dwight never showed me
pictures of Kitty nor disclosed their gender. Kitty walked in
with a full beard, two inch heels, and a twenty
eight pieces churchwig. Immediately, I was thrown off, uncomfortable and
expressed that I wanted to leave. Shortly after, Dwight forced
himself on to me, then demanded that Kitty dropped me
off instead of me calling an uber to his home.
This situation was truly traumatic. Okay, he said, He's not

(30:28):
Dwight's first victim, but hopefully I'm his last. Well, Dwight
Howard has gone to social media and posted this reply the.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Au Chista with the nonsense. That's the problem with y'all people.
They are all worried about who people spend their time with.

Speaker 12 (30:44):
Whatever I'm doing in my bedroom, it's my damn business.
If you want to know what people doing in their
bedroom and who they messing with, is sleeping with?

Speaker 1 (30:53):
You are weird?

Speaker 4 (30:54):
You're the weird one.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Oh shoot, y'all.

Speaker 13 (30:57):
Heard about that Dwight.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
They said Dwight was in a text message on a
God who cares And that's.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Very similar to what Dwight Howard had to say on
Way Up with Angela Yee. And I will say this,
the reason why people care right now is because you
are being accused of sexual assault.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
It's not necessarily who was in the bedroom.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
It's because also he's a famous basketball player.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yeah, and he is. He's pretty famous and so not
sure how this is all going to play out, but
these are allegations at this point, all right now. UG
and tel Far have launched a new Crinkle campaign that
stars Little Kim Tizo, Touchdown, Young Miami, Morris Chestnut, Mickey Rourke.
Rolling Ray is also part of the campaign. By the way,

(31:39):
Telfar is very unique.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
We'll say that this campaign.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
This collection launches on November two via the Telfar web store,
so you can see all of that available online all
right now, the NBA All Star Game is returning to
the original East versus West format. The game is going
to be February eighteenth in Indianapoli, and so the theme.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Is back to basketball this year.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
According to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, there will also no
longer be a target score in the fourth quarter, with
the game returning to a standard twelve minute, four quarter contest.
Guess that's what people preferred, Yes and no.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
No, I thought the draft was a little fun.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
All right. Well, speaking of Adam Silver, Charles Barkley is
challenging Adam Silver's response to domestic violence, the NBA's response
to domestic violence. And here is what Charles Barkley had
to say in front of a very massive national television audience.

Speaker 13 (32:35):
We put in place a new program for how we
deal with, first of all, accusations of domestic violence even
before they're prosecuted. Part of it goes to training of
our players, counseling of our players to make sure they
understand during high stress situations that obviously never resort to
violence against anyone, and so we're addressing it. We have
you know, state of the art counseling professionals dealing with

(32:56):
our players. But of course then every guy you know
does cross the line.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
The coointss are enormous, all right.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
So that was Adam Silvera's response to Charles Barkley about
the NBA's response to domestic violence. All right, And Caesar
from Black Ink Crew is having a problem with how
people are getting paid on these reality shows.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
In particular, he said that Black Inc.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Actually made a ton of money one point two billion dollars, right,
and they basically didn't receive a percentage of that money
at all.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Here's what he had to say on bag Fuel.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
I'm a lawyer, look into it.

Speaker 12 (33:31):
How much advertising money Black Ink made for the whole
ten year? Spent one point two billion, oh for ten
years of advertising.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
The whole cast didn't even get one percent of at.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Bro all right. Well, what was interesting was the comments.
First up Roy j come to the Neutronics network death row,
and then Tammy Roman said reality stars and not actors.
But if networks play the season and let it go,
the pay is appropriate.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
You get what you negotiate.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
However, if networks are going to and continue streaming that
season and past seasons in perpetuity, that people who are
a part of those seasons should be compensated. Unfortunately, there
is no union for reality TV, so networks will continue
to make money and not have to pay residuals. And
I know that's part of what this strike is about.
And I know that reality actors are now talking about
what they can do to make sure that they're fairly compensated.

(34:21):
All right, Well, that is your yeet and when we
come back, man, it is in my heart to talk
about as we're watching all these live updates of what
happened in Maine, the mass shooting in Maine. Right now,
there are eighteen people who were killed and thirteen injured.
Authorities are searching for Robert Carr, who was considered armed
and dangerous, and we want to make sure we give
you all these to the moment updates of what we

(34:42):
know right now.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 7 (34:47):
You ride the way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and I'm here today when my producer Dan is
joining me.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
Yes, ma'am man.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
And this is really tragic, and I I hate having
to have to report on stories like this, but it
is also so important. This was in Lewiston, Maine. Eighteen
people were killed and thirteen people were injured. The governor
says that authorities are searching for the man who was
considered armed and dangerous.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
Robert card is his name, and he's still at large.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
A shooting where it was in two different locations, a
bowling alley where a children's league was taking place and
at a local bar, according to officials. Now, the suspect
was behaving erradically this summer during army services and army reservists,
according to a defense official. President Joe Biden made a
statement today. He called the rampage in Lewiston yet another
senseless and tragic mass shooting. He also urged that Republican

(35:42):
lawmakers fulfill their duty to protect the American people and
work on gun laws. He said, once again, our nation
is in mourning today. Jill and I are praying for
the Americans who've lost their lives, for those still in
critical care, and for the family survivors and community members,
and during shock and grief. So he is directing his
administration to provide everything that's needed to support the people

(36:04):
of Maine, and he did say we will continue to
be there every step of the way. Now. Another main resident,
his name is Liam Kent. He's familiar with Robert Card.
He says that Card and his family are gun fanatics
and that people around town knew to stay away from
the family, you know, Dan. Unfortunately, it's not a crime

(36:25):
to be a gun fanatic. So even though people might
be like, oh, we have to stay away from these people,
you can't predict, you know, what somebody might do. And
this is the worst case scenario. With these mass shootings
at the bar in the Bowling Alley, families were running.
It was really sad to see this happened. And unfortunately,
like we said, eighteen people were killed and thirteen people

(36:46):
were injured. So our hearts do go out to the
families and the friends of people who were affected. They're
locked down there right now, as it should be.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Yeah, as it.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Should be, So as people are morning, we just want
to make sure that we offer our love and support.
We know this is not an easy time. Two of
Maine's leading banks have shut down the branches around Lewiston,
while a Third has moved to shut down all branches
throughout the state as the manhunt for this mass shooter
does continue. Man, they're going to find him, and I

(37:16):
know right now the last update I saw, he's being
charged with murder for eight because they've identified eight of
the eighteen people. So I'm sure that as they're identifying
those charges are going to be even more. But thanks
to the off duty medical workers who've rushed to Lewiston
Hospital to help treat the shooting victims, because again, there
are people they said, there are people in the hospital

(37:37):
right now. Some I think three were in critical condition.
So there's about one hundred team members who were off duty,
but they came into the hospital to help care for
those patients. This is a time for people to come together,
you know, and support each other. So again we want
to send our love and support as we're covering what's
happening in Maine and this manhunt is underway for Robert

(37:59):
card all right, Well, when we come back, we do
have a special guest joining us Mano and Jasmine Brand
We're here too for this Mariah the Scientist. She does
have a new album that's coming out tomorrow to be
eaten Alive. Does that sound appealing to you.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Dan, not really what about you?

Speaker 2 (38:19):
It could be it depends on what, but we'll talk
about it.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, that does it. It could be something, you know,
it could be some kinkiness. All right, Well, Mariah the
Scientist when we come back to be Eaten Alive. That
album is out tomorrow, so let's get ready for that.
And again we do want to send our prayers and
condolences Lewiston, Maine. We're going to keep you guys updated
as we know what's developing there. It's way up with
Angela Yee.

Speaker 7 (38:45):
Yeah, back at it, Way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Is on what's up his way up with Angela Ye.
I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine Brand is here, Mano is here,
and Mariah is Scientist is here.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Welcome gratulations.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
You have to be Eaten Alive about to come out,
all right, But let's talk about the difference with this
new album because it feels like there's a lot more
love here. Yes, I agree, Okay, aren't to be Eating
Alive because previous music.

Speaker 6 (39:13):
A little depressing.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
But let's let's talk about why you're in such a
I guess the better love life spirit.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
I got a man, and I love him. My previous relationships,
I wasn't too happy to brag.

Speaker 9 (39:25):
On them, Okay, all right, but I like, I love
what I'm doing now.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
I been dating or together since Okay, so that is
quite some time, is it.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
That's like years? That's like what third?

Speaker 3 (39:39):
And also this has been a great time for you,
and so to be in a relationship for two years
as things that are really like propelling upward, that is,
you know, an interesting time. And then he's been locked up,
so that's not that do you find that challenge indoor
because him being in prison, I.

Speaker 9 (39:55):
Mean the beginning, well, he's not in prison. Everyone is
always like he's being in prison. No, he's and he's
in jail prisoners for the convicts. He has not been convicted.
But I think in the beginning I was so sensitive
about it. It was like I was so emotional. I
was crying all the time. And it was like, you
can't be crying when you've got to manageail, because it's
like it's gonna make him sad, and it's it's like

(40:15):
you can't be acting like that.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
You get to see him, you get to visit him
a lot.

Speaker 6 (40:18):
He gets one visit a week, and I do attend
every week.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
Satly like I can't do a show that day I have, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (40:25):
No, for sure, I feel like arrange my week around it.
How often do you talk?

Speaker 9 (40:29):
Guys talk every day all day really unless he's in court,
Like he's in court right now.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Right, don't you feel like you've got to know him
a lot better and inspires conversation wise. It's almost like
jail like solidified our relationship.

Speaker 6 (40:43):
I know that sounds like we understand.

Speaker 9 (40:46):
It's like it's just like you get to talk ten
years he did, I'm gonna do my research.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
The person the raw right agree with it.

Speaker 6 (41:01):
So you're willing to wait it out as long as
it takes for him. Get to wait it down because
I feel like he's the one. Okay, you know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 9 (41:07):
If it was like, if I didn't really see that
in him, I probably wouldn't In the beginning, he also
was like, I just feel like I don't know how
long this is gonna take, so like if you want
to go on head on, like I ain't gonna stop you.

Speaker 6 (41:15):
And I was like not doing that.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
I'm here right now. I'm here. Jazz and Brand is
here a mano is here and we are talking to
Mariah the Scientists. I feel like, so before that, you
think your heart was kind of closed off.

Speaker 6 (41:27):
I for sure thought I was not going to get
back in a relationship. I feel like he swindled me.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
And it took you a little while to even feel
comfortable now, because I remember in the beginning stages it
was like, is he in a relationship now? Or is
he not? And I say, you said you waited it
out just to make sure that he was being honest.

Speaker 6 (41:44):
It's almost second.

Speaker 9 (41:45):
He did an interview with Breakfast Club and I think
he was still.

Speaker 6 (41:49):
There though, yeah, I there you were.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
I was there and y'all.

Speaker 9 (41:51):
Asked him about his relationship and he was talking about it,
and I saink those first time that he talked about
our relationship, and I was like, damn, you feel like that.
But yeah, so I waited it out, but it worked out.

Speaker 12 (42:01):
The first time I seen you, Mariah a scientists, I said,
that's a that's a different type of name, right.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
What what made you the scientists?

Speaker 4 (42:09):
Where did that come from?

Speaker 6 (42:10):
I studied biology at Saint John's. Where were you going
to be? I wanted to be pediatric anesthesiologists.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Science may sleep.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
I know I do say it like that.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
I mean, I like you like that is what it is.
It is.

Speaker 6 (42:27):
I feel like they would like you don't like me.

Speaker 3 (42:29):
Right now, I'm here, Jazz and Brand is here, a
Mana is here, and we are talking to Mariah the scientists.
Now let's talk about the time that you spent in Miami.
So for a period of time, you were signed to Tory Lanez. Right,
all right, So what was that experience like for you?

Speaker 9 (42:42):
So he hit me up and was like, I really
like your music and I want to mentor you. So
I flew to Miami to meet him. He was cool.
I feel like he was. He seemed like a real guy.
He didn't seem like he wanted anything besides to help me.
My parents were like, re looking like you don't know this,
you don't go down there, but I go any ways. Cool,
He like show me how to record myself. He like

(43:02):
took me around. We were around the world, so to speak.
And then but we don't do business anymore.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
Now what happened fell out?

Speaker 6 (43:10):
We kind of did. It was like business and personal.
Let me see how can I put this? You're absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
Okay, no creative differences.

Speaker 9 (43:21):
We would always clash when there was the opportunity for
me to invite somebody into like our business or like
to get an additional business partner. It was like, I
think he just wanted to He wanted to be able
to have more control, you know, right. And it's it's
not even that I think he didn't have my best interest.
I just think that I just think he just wanted

(43:42):
it for himself, you know, And that happens, right, and sometimes.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
It is it's better when you're able to bring your
own people in, right, you know, because that's a checks
and balance this thing.

Speaker 6 (43:52):
To Yeah, I just think he just didn't want that, right.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
And it's not even like I don't trust you. It's
more like, look, there might be things this person knows
more of, and it is also good to have somebody
else watch your back to, you know. It's just I
think that's always a good thing. Yeah, I think just like,
was it hard to get out of the deal.

Speaker 9 (44:09):
It actually wasn't. I thought it maybe would have been.
But so so here's the thing. When I was signed
to him in RCA, this is how I wound up
getting out of my deal. So I had an option
with RCA. I just didn't want to pick the option up.
And I told my lawyer like, I don't want to
pick the option up like and she was like, well,
by the way you're deal with RCA is in conjunction
with the Tory deal.

Speaker 6 (44:28):
So if you don't renew with them, you don't renew
with him.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
Okay, So everything it's a blessing.

Speaker 6 (44:36):
I got right out of there, all right.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Mariah the Scientist is here with me and Jasmine Brand
and New may No. And when we come back, we
are going to get all into her business with young
thug that is her boo. But how does the family
feel about him? Find out when we come back. It's
way up with Angela.

Speaker 9 (44:51):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Maria the Scientist is here.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
I'm you ride the way up with Angela. What's up
this way up? Angela yee, I'm Angela yee. Jasmine Brand
is here, Mana is here, and so is Mariah the Scientist. So, Maria,
how does your family feel about you dating young thug?

Speaker 9 (45:10):
I have a funny story story. I wonder should I
tell it? You think I should tell them that story
about my birthday party? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Tell us, come, I said, don't tell it.

Speaker 6 (45:19):
Okay, I won't tell it.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
I guess.

Speaker 6 (45:22):
It's a really good story, though I want to tell
you so.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Bad, but yeah, tell us, tell us no, because it
might be like.

Speaker 9 (45:29):
My mom loves him, my dad they've met and everything,
but like he's in jail now, so it's like not
really a way for them to have like a full
on relationship, I guess.

Speaker 6 (45:38):
But like my mom will be texting him.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
Okay, yeah, that don't sound like the whole story, but
that's the story story. You want me to tell your
birthday party?

Speaker 6 (45:47):
Tell half of it, okay, So I'll tell you.

Speaker 4 (45:52):
So.

Speaker 9 (45:52):
My dad was an investigator of detective for Atlanta Police
Apartment for like thirty years.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
All right, we know.

Speaker 9 (46:01):
So, and I always thought like, damn, am I gonna
wind up with somebody that he like had a run
in with or something. So I had a birthday party
one year.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
He like, don't tell it.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
Don't tell it.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Okay, it's a funny story.

Speaker 1 (46:13):
But still, all right, I noticed, now.

Speaker 6 (46:17):
Let me I know, not him, No, he didn't know.
He didn't know Jim.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
It was okay, all right, somebody else he knew. It
was daddy, Okay, all right, there you go. Now you
also deleted your Twitter, right, I did delete my Twitter,
so you were tired of it? So what was this
after I saw you tweeted about like the scene of
Young Miami and BMF and like I love her, Yeah,
I really do.

Speaker 9 (46:37):
I love her And I just feel like when I
watched that, I felt it was like a cool scene.
I thought I thought it was fire, like I felt
like I would have liked to have done not like
I could have done it better.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Like chiming in and trying to interpret, and.

Speaker 6 (46:47):
I think they took it as like I feel like
I could have done it better than her.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
That's how I ready done it.

Speaker 9 (46:52):
And a lot of people have told me that I
felt bad about it, like damn, like did I make
her feel like, you know, I was like shading her
or something I like hit her Like damn, I hope
you didn't feel like that. And I think she had
already felt like that, and it was like the internet
would like escalat something exactly, and I just felt like
I just didn't like that.

Speaker 6 (47:07):
So that was just the last stop for me.

Speaker 9 (47:09):
It was like, get me off of here, yeah, because
I don't want to offend anybody right now.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
I'm here, Jazz and Brand is here, a Mano is here,
and we are talking to Mariah the scientist. So, Mariah,
last question, if you could think about where you would
see yourself, like happy ten years from now, what would
that look.

Speaker 6 (47:24):
Like in the house, in the house.

Speaker 9 (47:31):
Cooking maybe like so ten years i'd be like thirty six.
I guess like some kids, I don't know what age
they should be. Okay, she's ready and not right now?

Speaker 3 (47:42):
No, but nothing's to do and physically it can't happen
right now, it.

Speaker 6 (47:46):
Can't, you know.

Speaker 9 (47:46):
But I feel like just I don't know if I
still want to be making music. I'm not sure, but
I think I just would want to be I like
domesticated life. I would like to just be focusing on that.

Speaker 3 (47:58):
She's like I am not outside, I'm in fire.

Speaker 6 (48:00):
Sometimes you know, so you want to get married and stuff? Yes,
I do. What if he proposed from inside.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Like now, like would you be what would you say?

Speaker 9 (48:08):
You know, like you know, like you can never tell
of being serious and maybe I should be able to tell,
you know, like you I don't know.

Speaker 6 (48:16):
Because like people say, will you marry me?

Speaker 9 (48:19):
Like yeah, for sure, but it's like I need to
full on shebang like you know you like yes, but
I'm like yes, but like I need like the whole
like set up. You know, you're so crazy, Jess, And
I don't even believe like he's more like an over
the top kind of guy. So I don't feel like
he would just go out with like a he just

(48:39):
asked me when he was in jail. You know.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
I feel like he's like he went it to be
the right way to he went to over the top.

Speaker 6 (48:45):
He is definitely like, yeah, that's where he is.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
And I'm like, Okay, you're such a romantic in every way,
maybe too much. All right, well, thank you so much
for joining us, and congratulations, thank you, and thanks.

Speaker 6 (49:01):
For having me. It was really nice to meet you all.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
It was nice to meet you too. I had said
that before. I was like, I would love to give
Mariah the scientist up.

Speaker 6 (49:07):
Here that you had me. I'm glad you had me,
for sure. I was very excited to hear that.

Speaker 3 (49:11):
All right, good, Well it's way up a Angela. Yee guys,
make sure y'all stream pick up that album. We got
to make it. Do those numbers.

Speaker 10 (49:18):
Run it up?

Speaker 3 (49:19):
Yeah, run it up. I love it. Honestly, it is
like it gives you a feeling, and I think that's
important to know.

Speaker 6 (49:25):
Thank you. I hope you guys like.

Speaker 3 (49:27):
It all right. Well that was Mariah the Scientist. You
can watch that full interview on my YouTube page. Way
up with Ye and when we come back, of course,
we are always here to help. Ask Yee eight hundred
two nine fifty one fifty. If you have any questions,
whatever you need to know, we gotcha. It's way up
at Angela Ye. Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty.

Speaker 7 (49:45):
Ask Yee is next everybody since with it's relationship for
career advice, Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
You should know. This is ask what's up as way
up at Angela Ye? Angela Yee? And it is a Thursday,
and you know what you do every single day. We
try to help you out if there's any questions that
you have. Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty is
a number. It's time for asking ye. Hello, Alexai, how
are you? I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 9 (50:12):
I'm good?

Speaker 3 (50:12):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (50:13):
And what is your question today? For asking you?

Speaker 4 (50:16):
So?

Speaker 10 (50:16):
My question for ask ye is I've been with my.

Speaker 8 (50:19):
Man for eight years.

Speaker 10 (50:22):
We had two sons together, and I just don't know
why he hasn't talked the person yet.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
What does he say when you ask him?

Speaker 10 (50:30):
So he kind of just like says he wants to
do it, but he doesn't like take me a ring
shopping or it's kind of like I have to bring
it up to him for us to discuss it.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
So he's not against it, he's saying he is planning
to do it. He's just kind of like, okay with
how everything is right now. So it seems like he's
if you're not going to say anything, he's not going
to say anything right And I'm.

Speaker 10 (50:54):
Just like, I don't know if I messed up because
I let him move in with me prior to all
of this, but we've been living together since before both
my sons, So I'm like, does he just feel so
comfortable that he doesn't have to do it now?

Speaker 3 (51:07):
And does he is he aware of how important it
is to you or do you feel like you don't
want to nag him about it and you just try
to bring it up to test it? Oh, he's over.

Speaker 10 (51:15):
I didn't add to him more than enough. I feel
like it's to the point where I'm actually pushing him away.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
Well, you know this is a deal breaker for you,
is what it seems like. And what I think you
have to do is be serious about it, because sometimes
people don't act because they know you're still going to
be there. So maybe there is a timeline like look
to be completely honest, and you should have this at
a time when y'all are not arguing, have a conversation,
you know, when nobody's emotions are high, because it is

(51:41):
going to end up being an emotional topic. But let
him know this is something that is extremely important to me.
This is potentially a deal breaker. You are the person
that I want to marry, and if this can't happen,
then I don't know if we can continue this relationship.
And so I will give you six months to figure
out what it is that you want to do, and

(52:03):
in that period of time.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
You know, you can weigh out the pros and cons.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
And if in six months you can't figure it out,
then maybe we should not live together anymore and figure
out what we're going to do with the future because
we're not aligned because it's not better to you. If
it's something that he really doesn't want and it's something
that you do want, then ultimately, at some point somebody's
not going to be happy.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
Yes, And I.

Speaker 10 (52:24):
Feel like I'm like two steps ahead of you, because
I'm going to giving him to the end of this year.
I'm like, it's eight years.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
That's like I'm like, if I don't have and that's
like a month, you better get it together. But you know,
but you are right. You have to show that you
mean business. You have to put a time on it,
be rational and and just let him know this is
very important to me and you are the person.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
It's not that I just want to get married.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
I want to get married to you and I want
you to feel like this about me. And if you don't,
then maybe this is something that we have to figure out.
What are we going to do moving forward? And so
part of that might be, you know what, I need
to spend some time in my own space. Let's plan
for you to find your own place or however you guys,
plan to do that and.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
Take it from there.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
Sometimes people don't see how serious it is, like they say,
you don't know what you got till it's gone.

Speaker 8 (53:14):
Right.

Speaker 3 (53:14):
Maybe he needs a wake up call of not being
there with you and realizing this is the person. Then
he'll be like, you know what, I can't live without you.
I want to be with you forever. This is important
to you, and I realize now bang bang bang. If not,
the worst case scenario is y'all breakup and go your
separate ways.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
And it just wasn't meant to be.

Speaker 3 (53:34):
But you know, I don't want you to not get
what you want out of this relationship.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
That's not fair.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
You shouldn't have to compromise on something so important to you, right.

Speaker 10 (53:42):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
I appreciate the advice, all right, Alexi, And look it
puts the ball in his court. This is what I want.
If it's not what you want, then yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Yeah, like you halfway out?

Speaker 10 (53:55):
Okay, yeah, like I am like, I'm just like I
don't know what to do anymore. But thank you for
the you know, the input I needed to hear that.

Speaker 3 (54:03):
You are the pro down, you are the prize. Okay, yes,
all right, thank you. You have a big day.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Thanks you too.

Speaker 3 (54:14):
All right, Well that was ask ye And in case
you couldn't get through, eight hundred two nine fifty one
fifty is the number you can always leave a message
and we'll get right on it.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
All right, it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 5 (54:24):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
When we come back, we have last word, because of course,
every single day y'all have the last word. Take up
the phone, Tapian to gainst your voice heard. What the
word is is the last word?

Speaker 1 (54:35):

really good time at her. We went to high school together.
It was nice like being with my friend from school.
We had all the these little cute memories while we
were waiting to do our segment. But November six again,
that is my two scam story featuring Jennifer. She's too
nice too, because she was on Sherry and she was like,

(55:11):
you know my range Rover was stolen. I said, no,
he took it. It didn't get stolen. Man took your
range Rover.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
He stole your car. Didn't get stolen.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
But y'all got to check out that series, that docu
series when it comes out. Also, thank you to Mariah
the Scientists for joining us today. That was her first
time on the show, and I feel like I've been
learning a lot about her. I haven't seen a lot
of Maria the Scientists interviews before this.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
What about you, Dan No.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
I've really only known her for her music.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
But she, of course, yeah, she has a good fund
personality though.

Speaker 4 (55:43):
She was really nice.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
Yeah, So I enjoyed that conversation and the fact that
she was so open about everything. That's not easy to
get out of artists all the time. All Right, well again,
